Awesome, best part are the pixelated arms ^^
Quite funny, some soundeffects would have been nice.
Well, you missed the Theme, but its a realy good game!
You should get at least 20 stars in Audio for that awesome soundtrack!
Ok, this one is cool!
Love the artstyle and idea, controls are a bit wierd sometimes (sometimes you jitter a bit forward after stopping)
Its hard to shoot down and jump, but it works and its fun to play.
Too hard after Level 3 or so?
Nice but a bit short.
Also: why did the screen reset every time you leave it?
Fun!
Only music on the right side makes it painfull for headphone users.
Fun game! But againa unity game where, when you hit a wall too hard, you get stuck in it and do not get out of it.
Hard as hell, but nice twist at the end!
Awesome Idea!
So much fun!
Really impressive!
So much fun and a realy nice mechanic!
The Music is soooo nice!

What could go wrong?
(looked forward to play this since I heard alot in chat about it)
TerraCottaFrog what system are you on? Do you have the latest java update installed?
ramantinsanity: it does a bit, but not enouth I gues, no matter how far you are progressed, the allert-rage dramaticaly increases with time.
I made the requirements so high since you can reach the 100 terror points for the first laser in ~10 seconds and since the points you get is scaled to the damage you does, it is quite easy to unlock them all. With a good blackhole grenade you can easily make ~1k terror points (which is intended since killing ships with blackholes is quite terrifeing)
AdenMansonGames oh, I already did ^^
Thanks for the crashlog, I finaly can may fix the bug since I was not able to reproduce it. will look into it.
Updated the post with a bugfixed Version. If you want the original one (for some reason) you can get it here:

ponywolf: thanks! iw was planed to have other upgrades too (you have a engine upgrade already in the game and the system for upgrades is full modular) but I didnt had the time, will continue to work on this game tho. strafing was missed by purpose, if you only have a backwars thruster, how would you strafe in space? ^^
That is btw also the reason why there is no max speed, you could just accelerate forever (but that would be no fun since the victims are not everywhere)
jofra you start with a non-shooting weapon, you start with a stun-magnet.
You can try all weapons in the Fun-Mode where you already have every upgrade unlocked tho.
Thanks all for the great votings! I am currently working on massive improvements.
*chnom*
A Windows binary would be cool.
This game is pure awesome!
But, but! Dragons are no monsters! They are our friends! Oh, I am a monster too D:
Really fun game!
Loved the Artstyle. Nice game!
Nice work!
Love the Artstyle
chrissou look in the description, there is a link for this case. Just posting it once again: http://data.teawork.de/LD34/Swarmonian_Explorer_v1.0_windowed.jar hf testing the game!
Great fun!
Love the graphics!
The map does not reset on fail D: But a cool idea!
The music is also nice.
The fact that where just as fast as your prey killed quite a bit of the fun, but otherwise a cool game :D
That end was unexpected, was fun!
The music is AWESOME! Also liked the rope bechanic and the racoon hat :D
You you did the music: props to you!
It was surprisingly fun, altho not really a game.
I uploaded a version where I fixed most crashbugs.
This music <3
But why brainfuck D: Hard stuff!
Hi! I wrote the ressource loader. you have to put the res folder into the folder you are compiling from, then it will work. the paths are all relative to the execution (or if it is a jar, relative to the jar)
Very basic game but somewhat addicting. The movement feels a bit too slow, I think just a bit more movement speed would help the game in a great way.
I dont think I actually had any control what so ever over the photon. Edit: Oh I did, its just that little of an impact. And I was able to actually have hands off after the first minute for the entire rest of the game without hte need to even touch the keyboard. But it is visually pleasing and a unique idea!
I love these types of games and this one has functional graphics that work well in a minimalistic style. The windows build crashed too, not just the WEb Version so there is still something to fix. But overall a good game for the time you had!
Quite fun game! The music was a bit too quite but after turning up the volume I could chill to the music while navigating my ever shrinking planet. I did 139 as a score. Well executed!
Wow! This one is a gem!
First the negative: the screenshake was too much for a constant thing but I get why it was there But otherwise: the controls felt good, the death felt meaty, I always knew when I could grab something. Good game!
Got a B but could use some prediction lines and a bit slower rotating planets.
Regarding the UI: yea it is a "bit" clunky since the UI system of my engine is not quite ready for being actually used. The A+D controls where something I was intending to implement but forgot later.
@dennyrocketdev sorry about that. I am pretty sure it is that "nice" Windows10+Java8 bug that strikes quite a few games :/ You could try to confirm that by running it via console. If the crash is about your driver only supporting OpenGL1.1 then it is exactly that bug.
@wolar Since I don't have a macOS I just included the natives for it and hoped for the best. Could you try to run it via console and send me the crashlog?
@ryte2byte again: physical button was planned (and would have been easy to implement, actually easier than that UI Button) but I somehow forgot to add it. There are 21 scrap veins on the map and with a bit of trying you can fit 2 miners per ore field. I figured that would be enough but I guess not ^^
@wizcas the turrets can in theory hit something, yes. but since the glowsticks are gravity following projectiles it was hard to get the math for the trajectory at least somewhat right. I did not had the time left to get this fully tested in the end so they are more of a kind of "maybe one will hit". :)
@mmkalll thanks for the detailed feedback! I knew about the emitter bug but could not fix it in time so I had to let it pass. (Now that I think about it, there is a easy fix for that, why didnt I think of that in time... ahh well). The "return to menu" button is actually there, I just forgot to add the Render Component to it so it is hidden. Yes the Engine is written in Java on top of LWJGL and is still in its child boots. Since the engine is Entity Component based, it was actually quite simple to display all the info for the items, so that worked in my favor here :D
The gameplay certainly can be improved but I had to cut the gameplay down to its bare minimum since this type of game is a bit out of scope for a 48h solo contest.
@narve they are actually difrent, just not enough I gues.

This is coal: http://puu.sh/vE6pr/c0306dda81.png
@awerick I used FLStudio for the music. The UI system in my engine is at best bare bones at the moment and that shows in the game. Sorry about that :/
@occultone You probably dont have Java 8 installed.
Visually impressive game! I am not that much of a fan of story telling games (besides Life is Strange, that game is somehow different in my mind) but this one was so nice that it kept me going for a while. Well executed!
The sound is super loud and actually hurts on my right ear but the graphics are nice. Otherwise solid game! (Windows 10 + 32bit Version on a 64bit System)
The music is nice and the artstyle is unique but I think the enemies have a bit too much health and if you never moved at all your bullets also dont move.
Quite fun this game! A nice take on a tower defense!
This game had a nice bit of *umpf* to it. Every time I died I felt it. The idea of even your own tail slowly damaging the map added the added challange of not always moving the same path. The minimalistic graphics actually helped the game here quite a bit! Like it a lot!
My Highscore is at ~1,300
This game has something to it. But I agree with @marek77 (lol) that the controls where a bit strange
Fun game, the harder modes are quite challenging.
I loved the music! But as other said the camera was a bit wierd. Otherwise quite enjoyable!
Fun little game with ok graphics. Nice work!
for some reason, it did not work with my XB1 controller :(
Wow! Just Wow :D Fun game!
Simple and Short.
THAT was a unique experience! Nice!
The game is interesting and the art style and music fitting but I think you have a major bug in it. Once one of your drones gets destroyed, it does not reduce the counter for the controlled fighters, which makes it pretty much impossible to get to stage 2. That combined with the slow start makes it a bit dull :/
Whow there! I tried it a bit and I really love the artstyle and the idea of these types of games! Will save it and play it a bit more later when I can think again :D
This one was good! The graphics are unique, the audio is good and the story is lovely! Nothing more to say :D
I liked the music, but the moving sounds played like 50x every time I tried to move and controls where quite fiddely. The idea for the theme is something new, liked it!
I love this game so much. I dont know why it just feels and looks right!
The music was good, I liked it! The graphics are good enough but could use some work (obviously not the focus here so thats ok). It boils down to a maze game that remembers me of a really old game I once played. Liked it!
Day 19 for me. Looks alright and plays fun. Just a bit too repetitive after a bit.
The graphics are beautiful but the controls are way too sensitive and something like a deadzone in the center of the screen would have helped.
Thats a hard platformer and the arrow keys made it even harder somehow. But overall solid game!
As soon that I found out that I can win without moving and just spamming J even on the highest difficulty, the game got a lot easier. Because the controls where not that great (K for jumping? Thats a bit random I think, why not W or Space?). But graphically pleasing and the audio is also nice.
This is something unique! I had already fun exploring the dark. Cant wait to see it later today again and create a bit more on my own! Great Idea and Execution!
One small thing: on dual monitor, the cursor easily slips on the second monitor and minimizes the game on click. You should capture the cursor and not just hide it.
Nice take on the endless runner genre!
You guys do know that you are cheating by extending the game and not providing the original 72h version of the game to be judged?
What does "I will not win anyway" take away from my argument? Sure you are allowed (and even encouraged) to do further improvements to your game. But the way you are supposed to do it is that you keep the original Version up and as the prominent link so people can judge what you did after 72h and have the post compo link clearly labeled as such so people can chose to try that version if they want. After all: LD is still a competition and while it is truly awesome that you are keep working on your game you are creating a unfair advantage for every one else in this competition who plays by the rules.
That said: I hope your game does well and will become a full fledged game in the future for people to enjoy. Because that is the other reason why LD is awesome, besides the competition aspect.
A shoot them up with a twist. Nice!
A simple game, but I was laugthing the entire time. Good job!
The concept is there, but it is lacking. The scrolling needs some work too.
The font is quite hard to read that fast due to the too transparent background. Had no idea what I did but it was somehow still fun. "Found wood? nice! I think." Solid game!
Nice job on your first game! I had fun playing it! But a level border and a wider field of view would have been nice.
@yancharkin it was made with a nightly build for the 3.0 beta so I only got the windows export to work without crashing. Sorry about that :(
A bit too short but good ideas for puzzle games, nice!
Ocean bonus! A score of 998.772.608! I thought I had to collect cats, turns out I dont. Nice take on the theme!
More fun when together, the sword hitbox is funky sometime tho. But making a split screen game in this time is impressive, good work!
Impressive graphics and good gameplay. Unfortunatly the trains tend to do loops off the tracks. Solid game!
Fun game, a bit shot tho :(
Nice game!(UnityEngine.GameObject)
Nice take on the theme! The music was quite catchy too. Well done!
I made the big mountain in the middle the most overgrown thing ever 10/10, would use speed auto clicker again
Unfortunately it is impossible to run the game on windows x64 since you only added the OpelAL32.dll but not the OpenAL64.dll
I did use the jar, still same error on win x64
Slowest shells ever but I enjoyed it! the radio sound was a bit annoying tho The engine sound on the other hand was funny!
Awesome game, a bit sad that it had no audio but man am I ab at controlling 2 at the same side. can Imagine tho that it is fun to play as a coop game! Well done! Specially huge props for being your first LD game!
that game is actually hard! nicely done!
Fun little mini game! The music is quite catchy too! Good job!
You can spam rightclick on tiles to cheat the game, but I liked the idea of the game! Solid work! (maybe some improvements in the graphics and audio department would be nice)
It is impressive that you managed to build that much story in to the game but I think you would be better off with adding a bit more actual gameplay. Loved the audio and graphics tho!
The recoil flight is a feature, yes. @s-knight
I know about the crash, it happens if the world reloads while there is still smoke from a explosion going on. I know how to fix it at least one way but then the performance would be shitty, so I might have to look into that again. @jegus9
@siimer unfortunatly I didnt had time for more weapons, maps etc because I was not feeling good the first day and was therefore not productive. I had so many plans that would not have taken that much time but I only finished the sounds 10 minutes before deadline :(
No idea how I select Drive D but anyway a nice game!
Well done game, specially the music is so chilling, great work!
Perfect addaptation of the theme. The graphics are a bit meh tho and you could use more audio next time!
you can get too far while standing just still on the highest tile you can fild till it moves eventually. But since there is no timer on how long to survive it seems to not be a full game. But the graphics are nice and I like the idea.
Man, these graphics are so awesome!
Man, the music was quite fitting for that game! Maybe some weapon varriations would be nice. But good entry anyways!
Quite unforgiving, since debree does not collide with other debree you have lost as soon as 2 collide and have no way to recover. But at least it looks awesome while going out.
I like the visuals and it is a nice game for when you just need some timefiller. Well done!
