I really enjoyed playing this :) The graphics are terrific and the sound effects very satisfying. BTW How good is game maker studio 2? I haven't switchet yet due to a lack of HTML5 features.

@adrien-dittrick Thanks!
Talking about Studio 2, the new interface and room editor does help a lot, much cleaner and faster to compile in native language! Recently I even decided to move an entire big project from GMS to GMS2 :)
I like this game, I think I played the most of this LD. Nice work.
Beautiful game, deserves more attention! I found a bug though, my train was going round in circles off the tracks! I'd like to suggest there be a cost involved in creating new tracks, forces the player to think more carefully about their layout. I'd also very much like to be able to remove tracks.
Impressive graphics and good gameplay. Unfortunatly the trains tend to do loops off the tracks. Solid game!
i like trains so you already got some bonus points :) sadly the trains are able to leave the track and circle arround. but that is the only downside i could find. as good points i need to say: hell your sounds are nice, and the overall look doesnt look like 48 hour jam. well done!

@mr-matt @teekeks Thanks for the comments. That issue is my fault, it seems that I should have made this part more clear - **trains went off the curves due to speed** (or due to the hard edges in the path). I shall work on that if I continue the project, **thanks for the feedback :)**
Very nice entry. There is just one thing but it's done really well. Kinda reminded me of Minimetro. Too bad you can not pause the game and modify the tracks, I guess that's intentional though :) I enjoyed it, good job!
Pretty cool graphics. Like the noises too. Congrats!
First of all, I have a hard time believing you made this in the compo track, this is crazy. And there's no bugs!
Some concrete thoughts: - I'm sure you played to Train Valley, I think the pause function is vital to this type of game because without it it's impossible to play more than 2:45 to 3:00 minutes consecutively. Part of the joy (in my opinion of course) resides in watching the trains cross the map (more like toys). - Having icons to represent speed, mass and destination of the train would be better than numbers and colors. For the colors of destination, there's not enough variation between them and this may prevent colorblind people to play your game (everybody should play this game ;)). - A restart function on a shortcut or on a pause menu would be nice, I did close and open 4 times the game while learning the details to try an optimal play.
Globally I'm impressed and I really appreciated playing this game :)
@happysloth I strongly agree with your thoughts, if I decide to keep this project I shall make these updates! Thanks for the clear feedback :)
This looks really really polished.
This one made me kill more than two hours :D Really cathing gameplay, although I missed some tips about trains and control points correlation in the beginning. I wasn't quite sure is that point useful or dangerous so I tried to build paths around it at first. Perhaps it would help to make control points appearance more roundish in shape? Anyway I'm feeling like spending another few hours here, thank you!
@wermoongrey thank you so much for the message :)
I Like Trains
The game is actually quite interesting. Adding some semaphores it could be quite cool simulator. I really liked it and it reminded me of good old Transport Tycoon.
Keep up the good work!
Nice game you have here. SUPER WELL DONE!
Come check out my game if you like! https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/40/virus-detected
Impressive work! The game is pretty cool and the mechanics are well executed. I too get some trains of the rail and now i see is because they were too fast, some clarification in game would be awesome. With some polish this could be a very good game. Some more info on the trains power and cargo would make a good adition and a slower pace at the start so the player could understand better what he is suppose to do.
Minimetro popped into my head immediately, but I don't play games like these a lot so I'm sure there are games more similar than that.
I'm conflicted about a few things, mainly about toggling a pause, but I quite like the frantic nature of it (mind you, I haven't got very far), so I'm not sure it would benefit from it. I do agree with @mr-matt in that the tracks should cost something to balance making smooth, but expensive tracks and 'edgy', but cheap ones. If that comes to play a possibility of destroying tracks could work if super expensive so it could be used but only as a last resort.
I encountered a tiny bug - if the number of damaged trains exceeds 3 (at the point of impact), the game just continues and shows x/3 tranis damaged. I assume there's an equality check and not a >= check. 2017-12-27 08_13_36-RAILWAY.png
In any case, I liked it a lot and the scope is just ridiculous for a compo. I hope one day I'll be able to churn out half as much as this in a jam...
