Neat idea! Pretty tricky though. Maybe would be nice to have some guides showing the trajectory of the ship.
This is a pretty fun game, but it's quite hard to hit the planets. I like how some of my ships that completely miss end up hitting the right planet their return on pure luck..
Well implemented and clean. Well done!
Its neat but I don't understand what I'm supposed to do. Would like to try again when I know what I'm supposed to be doing.
A fun game with challenging gameplay. I like the simple and functional design - makes it easy to understand what's going on and what the player is supposed to do. The gravity mechanic is a neat twist.
Overall, a nice game that I enjoyed playing. Keep it up!
The gravity effect is super cool, and I love this peaceful music. Making me feel floating in the void. But there is some problem with the mouse control - I have to move the mouse far left to the game area in order to rotate the arrow correctly...
Nice game, simple!
Especially the moral decision, do I send a ship into nirvana now to quickly launch the next one as it would take too long to wait for the target planet to be in reach... :)
Keep it up!
A simple and clever idea. The music is very relaxing.
Calculating the trajectories manually is very challenging and if the mouse controls worked this would even be proper fun. Right now it is rather annoying and frustrating due to the controls bug.
Tested a bit and it seems that the mouse position is calculated from the top left of the browser window, not from the top left of the drawn area. Resizing the browser window to the drawn area size fixes the problem....
This is pretty great. You should still fix the mouse issue though.
A super enjoyable game!
I didn't experience the same issue as @HuvaaKoodia with the mouse, so for me aiming the shot was ok.
However, I felt like the gravity of the different astral bodies was too weak. I was always expecting my ship to be more affected by the sun and the planets.
As a extra nit-pick, the population is already dropping when the introduction text at the start is displaying, making it hard for the first playthough.
This is a very cool concept, congratulation!
(You can see me playing this game for the first time on the vod https://youtu.be/lXUmif8KKxM?t=35m35s )
@HuvaaKoodia Oh shoot. I just moved the main screen to the middle, because originally it was in top left corner on white background. I forgot that the mouse position was still calculated based on page and not the canvas. It is fixed now, thanks.
The version on Kongregate worked always, that's probably why @Togis didn't experience the issue.
Cool concept and clever idea! Even if it was challenging I really enjoyed it. I could also imagine it as a mobile game.
Nice interesting game.
The things staying alive even if outside screen is a nice touch, but when you shot the last one, you have to wait until them finishes, even if that last one went outside the screen for a long time before they come back.
Really great overall effort. Good synergy between theme, graphics, audio, and gameplay. Not much else to add, other than the fact that aiming is a little difficult! Also got a little chuckle out of the intro text. Nicely done. :earth_africa:
I like it, nicely thought out concept and implementation. A bit simple, but adds to the charm.
Got a B but could use some prediction lines and a bit slower rotating planets.
Overall, it was a very well designed game. There were a few things like the varying ship launch speed and low gravitational influence of the planets that threw me off but other than that, it is well polished and a nice game.
I ended up playing 3 rounds. The first round, I had no idea what was happening, like I didn't know I had to match the planet colors. That part could have used a tutorial to explain, as it wasn't immediately obvious. The second round, I got a B, although I think I got mostly lucky. The 3rd round, I started to run into a lot of issues figuring out how the gravity worked. I ended up doing even worse that time, as all of my shots didn't work the way I thought they would.
Overall though, it was a fun game, and I liked the idea, although the execution hindered it. I think the gravity effects need to be made so that the ships track to the planets easier... it was far too easy to miss a planet even though it looks like it should hit. Also, the two red-ish planets were very similar in color and were hard to distinguish between the two.
Very nice little game! I enjoyed it a lot. It is quite hard, but if you hit that planet on the other side it feels amazing :)
Super chill game. Liked the idea and liked the execution too. One thing I'd say is that I wish the rules of gravity and whatnot were more transparent so you knew a little bit more about where your ship would end up when firing it off. Good job!
Thank you, now I can see why I'm not working in NASA flight control! It was quite challenging and very fun. I found it absolutely hilarious how ships I'm missed sometimes would return from offscreen, make multiple circles around different planets just to hit the right one by pure luck! Also very nice job with physics!
I played this on Livestream Today: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wr-ZBj_dJa4
I'm really, really bad at these kind of games but I had fun. Very difficult, have fun laughing at me sucking.
Surprisingly calming game, although I wasn't very good at it! Shows promise and creativity though, and overall everything just worked.
Compolicious. a very comprehensible little package of a game. a little bundle of joy. Kudos!
Neat! I mentioned it on Togis's stream chat a while ago, but I still find it hilarious how the goal is to escape the engulfing sun, yet they are sending ships off to planets closer to the sun than earth. :'p
The gravity stuff is cool, and fun to try and come to terms with. Felt pretty good to manage to hit little Mercury without losing the ship to the sun. The simplicity works, and the colour coding does it's job. As an accessibility patch, for a post-jam entry it'd be neat to also have symbols or something for the colourblind.
It's a nice touch how the population keeps decreasing while the intro texts are rolling!
Good job!
