LD38 — A Small World

Timeless by Chaseplays 2017-05-06T10:07:59Z

Really awesome game! The gameplay is very fun and graphics and music are really nice! I really liked the way you keep introducing new things into the game, and the level design was really good. In the end there were even some nice puzzles, and getting the apples was a really nice optional challenge. The difficulty was very nice and I managed to finish the game! I really don't have a lot criticism or possible improvements, because you did an excellent job!

A Bloody Small World by blinry 2017-05-01T16:18:41Z

This is a really cute game! Love the graphics and the sounds. The popping sound especially is very satisfying. I liked the controls, and being pushed by the blood stream to know where you are supposed to go to get back to the heart. But on some occasions, the class couldn't keep up and I couldn't find them anymore. Another time they couldn't get into the heart until I pushed them a bit. But apart from those small issues, it's a really fun game.

Toy Racer by Avon 2017-04-29T13:48:15Z

Really nice game! I really like how the track and the items scattered on it look, however I think the car looks like it's made out of paper (Don't know if that's intentional, I only remember plastic toy cars from my childhood).

A small bug is that when typing a username and typing 'h', the leaderboard covers the screen. (By the way sorry for the username, was curious as to what would happen)

The track is quite tricky to get around, the blocks on the border are viscous. One thing I didn't like is that the pencils on the jump didn't get knocked over, but made me drive on the boot of the car for a bit. I really liked being able to knock the footballs around, and would have liked it if more of the stuff was physics objects, so I could pretend to be a child and tear everything down (the stacks of pencils would have been awesome).

Space Travel 15 by jk5000 2017-04-26T13:44:00Z

This is a really fun and well done game! I think you should open a third Airport a bit sooner, but after that it was pretty challenging.

However after a few airports opened it took me a bit of time every turn to figure out which airports are full of which type of destination. It might make it easier if you put every traveller in the airport with the appropriate color in the boxes, instead of having a the list of destination with numbers (hope the wording makes sense).

Hopper by Porcus_Pie 2017-05-06T10:27:00Z

Really nice entry! The graphics and sounds are great and create a great atmosphere. The controls and the mechanics were really nice. The introduction of new mechanics led to a really nice learning curve. The only thing that slightly confused me in the beginning was what the barriers do, since in the first two levels were they are introduced, you can get through them just fine. Overall, really nice work, it was really fun!

Mediator by randomhuman 2017-05-10T15:35:36Z

Awesome graphics and a really good looking walking animation! Your game had a really good atmosphere and I really enjoyed the self deprecating humour (not sure if that's the correct word, but I'm going with it). However, it felt like something was missing from the game, but I can't quite put my finger on it...

But still, really good job on the things you managed to get into the game!

(Un)Happy by pcmaster 2017-05-05T17:11:58Z

Really nice game! Really self explanatory, and surprisingly fun for the little time you had. The graphics look fine, however if you maximise the game, the ship looks a bit strange because of the bilinear filtering and too low resolution. Another minor nitpicky thing is that the thrusters for the rotation fire in the wrong direction. But overall, well done!

Protolife by icxon 2017-05-01T18:01:31Z

This is a really nice tower defence game! The simplistic graphics are really nice, the sound fits very well, and the transition to the more dramatic music is great. I liked that the amino acid had conway's game of life behaviour and I'm sure you could use that in a very advanced tactical way somehow.

One thing that slightly irritated me, was that when you placed two adjacent blocks quickly, the placing sound plays only once, so when I instinctively pressed again, I removed the block I just placed.

Another thing I didn't like is that I am still not sure what exactly is the loosing condition. I guess when the infection has grown too big, but it still took me by surprise when I suddenly lost.

But apart from that, it is a really fun game, well done!

King of the world by Linus 2017-05-04T20:27:42Z

Nice take on risk! I really liked the timer limiting the time per turn, but a skip button would have been nice, so you don't just have to wait for the timer to count down. Another thing that would have been nice to have is if you could cancel your selection with right clicking (Not sure if there is a button or something I missed in the tutorial, but it would just feel more natural). Another thing that made it a bit harder to get an overview is that you have hover over a country to see how many troops there are. A physical representation of the units would have been nice, or at least a number below the number of the country.

Apart from that, I really liked the generals, and trying to corner the other general so he couldn't get away. And good job on the tutorial!

Starstruck Ducky by HuvaaKoodia 2017-04-29T14:33:16Z

Really funny game! I love the writing and the exaggerated art and animations of the duckies. It took me quite a few tries to beat the game. The game seemed a bit random in whether you get invited to a party or not. I managed to figure some things out, like being able to meet new ducks in the first round, but not much more. Some more chit chat dialogues would have been nice, but other than that, really well done.

Earth, 3568 by BoltKey 2017-04-24T06:11:40Z

This is a pretty fun game, but it's quite hard to hit the planets. I like how some of my ships that completely miss end up hitting the right planet their return on pure luck..

Omega Llama in: Bullet Surfing by yumaikas 2017-04-29T13:19:54Z

Your game looks really nice! The gameplay is fun too, but I think you have to change how it starts a bit. For a while, my highscore was 97, but once I got to the second ship, I got over 380 points. I think since the bullets can't damage you, having more ships only makes it easier. I would like to have more ships early on, since it is more fun that way. I liked that you had to deal with more purple circles to ramp up the difficulty. I think the difficulty should come from avoiding the purple circles more than running out of bullets (You just end up following the spaceship).

Another nice touch is the sound indicator for when you are running out of time, but it took me a bit to realise the connection between the sound and how much time I had left.

Overall, really nice and fun game.

My Purpose by Maldo19 2017-05-05T18:03:38Z

Nice work! I really liked the low poly graphics and the outlines that were used as health indicators. The asteroids looked a bit strange, because it looked like they had smooth normals. The controls were a bit tricky at first, but the first level was a good environment to learn them. However the game's difficulty curve is a bit broken in my opinion. The enemies introduced in the second level are quite strong, and it took me many goes before I made it through that level, after that, there were a few easy levels. I eventually had to give up on the level with the big thing, and sadly didn't find out what my purpose was. Another thing that is really tricky to do is picking up the yellow health blobs, since it's hard to tell if you're flying over or under them.

My Purpose by Maldo19 2017-05-05T18:03:38Z

Whoops, accidentally double clicked publish and can't find a delete button, only edit...

Pity About Earth... by mwcz 2017-05-05T18:50:36Z

In the beginning I thought that I was about to play a rhythm game... It definitely had good enough music and the asteroid vs shield sound was a pretty good beat! The graphics were very nice and the gameplay was very fun. Some minor things that could be improved is that the missiles could be a bit faster and that the really fast meteor showers coming from the side felt a bit unfair. Overall, it's a really fun and satisfying game!

SLINGSHOOT by chaoclypse 2017-04-27T17:15:07Z

This game is really satisfying to play. Dodging around the enemies and the bullets is really fun. The music and the visual style is really nice. I think it's funny how after you die, the remaining enemies swarm around your last position and start finishing each other off...

I agree with what is said above, that a point multiplier or something along those lines is needed to encourage more actual slingshotting. Another thing is that the meteorites didn't kill the aliens when hitting them.

Overall it is a really fun game

Rocket Roller Space Polo by pkenney 2017-05-01T09:56:11Z

Wow, this game is so much fun! Really love the concept. The graphics are really nice too, but in my opinion, the player, boost trail and the finish line didn't quite fit the otherwise really nice and simplistic artstyle. The rollerskating animation looks good too. Flying around like in tiny wings was really fun. I also love how you were able to boost yourself around planet by shooting below you.

I found the game to be pretty self explanatory. It did take a bit to figure out how exactly scoring worked, but in my opinion, that was not an issue. Another thing I really liked is that you when you are currently losing and manage to get the ball into an orbit, you can score a few points in a row and come back, so the game isn't over until the last goal is scored. The game feels really polished, with good controls and lots of different modes. Some music would have been nice. I also have to agree, that a multiplayer mode would be awesome.

Overall, it's an incredibly fun game. Really impressive work! Keep it up!

Plutiny by peringo 2017-05-05T16:58:19Z

Really cool game! The sound is really nice and the graphics are amazing! It was really fun to play, but it is quite hard to aim and dodge bullets at the same time, but I think this is part of what makes this game fun. One thing I didn't get the point of was the bombs, since when you get rid of everything on the screen, another wave would just spawn immediately, except for in the boss battle. Another thing that would be nice would be an indicator of the boss health (I'm not quite sure if there was a subtle one because I was too focused on not dying... It was really hard and fun). Really great job overall!

Beer in Mind by pixelstuff 2017-04-28T14:11:09Z

Very nice game! Played this game a few times, but still wasn't able to win. Is it even possible?

I really like the concept, but I think you needed a bit more time. A few more diverse / personalised small talk options would have been nice. On one occasion two cats died in one night...

It's also irritating that the cops and cabs don't show up, unless the game lets you. One night Amy (If I got the name right) was telling me she was under police protection and to call the police if I knew anything, but nothing happened. Also telling the kid to get out didn't really seem to work

Then there are some minor bugs, like not being able to restart the game, the barrel on the bottom being below the bench, or there being tiny white outlines around the objects, some small spelling mistakes (I think one time you wrote in instead of on). One night I didn't have any customers at all, which was also a bit annoying.

I quite like the vagueness of the you got killed game over statements outside of the bar, as it lets you play the game again, and try to figure out what you missed. However the one were you are just in the bar with (no spoilers) that person and get killed should maybe have a bit more of an explanation, since it was a bit out of the blue in my opinion...

Apart from that, it is a really nice, visually stunning game with an interesting story.

Tiny Tony by Firewill 2017-04-28T16:13:44Z

Poor Tony died a lot! Hope that kiss at the end was worth it. The game looks really stunning, but is really hard! Another checkpoint on the last island after the bridge would have been nice. The gasp made me jump a little the first time, when I wasn't expecting it. The music creates a very nice atmosphere.

The cutscene in the end was very nice, since it made it feel like my work got paid off. Great work!

Noizy by yves 2017-05-04T17:18:34Z

Really cool game! The game is really fun, the laser feels really powerful and satisfying! I also really liked the music. One minor thing is that it isn't immediately obvious what the blocks you shoot and turn red do. However, apart from that, the game feels really nice, the world turning mechanic is cool, and it has a really consistent visual style, which looks good. Really impressive work!

Small Planet Tycoon by Querk 2017-04-30T17:53:00Z

This game took me a bit to get into, but was quite fun once I did. I liked that you sometimes had to sacrifice good buildings to stop the planet from exploding. I like the artstyle of the buildings you get early on, with the more hand drawn look, rather than the expensive buildings with the very straight lines. It would also be nice if the buildings were placed with the slope of the planet, and not just on a perfect circle. But overall, it is a pretty nice game!

Zen Demiurgy by mortus 2017-05-05T19:54:30Z

Your game is really well done! Thoroughly enjoyed it. The graphics are really good and the music is very nice too. It's really impressive how many variations of the tiles there are. One thing I didn't really like is that when you have just run out of tiles, but there is a mystery crate left on the map, you have to wait quite a while for the people to find it. Apart from that, I really liked the mechanic that the people are completely doing their own thing. Nice job!

uP-8: Microprocessor by Spaceman 2017-04-28T15:18:31Z

Damn this is impressive! This game seems to be quite complex (I couldn't actually tell; I got through the game just using loops). I have never really used Assembly before, so I finished the game by modifying the code example in the image. Hope the artist finds another job soon. The CRT effect looks really nice

Protect by M-1 2017-04-29T14:55:04Z

The game is quite fun, even for someone who has never really played any rhythm games. I found the easy mode quite challenging, but in a good way. I sometimes found it hard to tell when there are more than two blocks coming in, which one is first. Another thing I didn't like was the screenshake, since it really threw me off, and I usually missed quite a few blocks, until I managed to recover.

Overall really cool game, that is very satisfying if you manage to pull off something hard

SHAKEDOWN by LancesCaterpie 2017-05-01T14:50:25Z

This is a pretty cool game. The graphics are amazing and fits well with the audio. The dithering effect looks really nice. However, I have no idea on how to stop the murder. I'm guessing you have to say something to someone, but after a few tries, I was still getting nowhere. The beginning was also a bit confusing, as it took me a bit to figure out which character in the cutscene was mine

Microbe Mash by LeFayGames 2017-05-05T11:08:57Z

Really nice puzzle game! It became quite challenging toward the end. Some minor critique points are that when you go to the help menu and back the music starts playing again over the existing music, and I didn't like the way the DNA looks when you are selecting a shape that isn't far away, and the texture is tiling way too much. Apart from that, the game looks nice and is really fun!

Mr. Fishy's Small World by SheepTree 2017-04-27T14:11:26Z

This is a really nice, but sad game. I kept overfeeding my fish until the FBI arrested me (I think you forgot to put in the current fish's name in that notification)...

I really like the messages, they are really funny and made me attached to the fish. The artstyle is really nice, but I would have liked a bit of animation when you have to wait for the clock.

While it took me a bit to figure out to press the feed button, clicking the deceased fish (#NeverForgetSenorFishy) to get a new one didn't occur to me until refreshing and playing with Mr. Fishy a second time...

Lead the Ants by matita 2017-04-28T16:56:51Z

Very nice work for your first game! It's a really nice concept, and the paths of the ants look really interesting. I was not sure how frequently I had to press space, and ended up somewhat spamming it. The difficulty of the levels also varied a lot. In some cases I barely managed to find the food in time, in one extreme example, the food spawned literally 1.5 seconds away.

There was also a bug which occurred, that the ants just kept moving straight without being affected by the traces or anything (Only happened one time on level 9)...

The tutorial level was really good, but when I don't think you should play it again every time you don't make it.

Apart from that, really nice game and keep up the good work

Super Squareface by LaceMattley 2017-05-01T13:58:04Z

Really nice little game! I really liked the voxel artstyle, but in my opinion, the enemies were a little too detailed.

A thing I found a bit annoying, is that the platforms after the last checkpoint didn't reset if you died, so if you fell in the water a few platforms in, you had to wait for them to respawn. Another thing I didn't like is that the stationary snowballs still hurt you. But apart from that well done!

Containment Field by Nicolas Shapland 2017-04-27T17:19:32Z

Tried playing your game, but your download doesn't work...

Unity Windows builds require the [Buildname]_Data folder to run, but your download is only for the exe. Put the folder and the exe in a zip file and publish that, then it should work

Warpy's World by Nilanjan 2017-05-01T14:21:50Z

Nice art and puzzles, but the game is pretty glitchy. You can walk into the side of blocks, and sometimes if you spawn your clown and walk to the edge, it would just go up. In the end there was only rain. Don't know if that was intentional or not. By the way, this was the jam version. I think some of the things I have addressed might be fixed in the post jam version, but it wouldn't install. It said it couldn't be installed because of a certificate problem.

Diminishing Lands by drazil100 2017-04-28T12:11:10Z

This is a really nice platformer! I really liked the way the player controlled and the graphics look great. I really liked that you are able to hang onto the edge of a block.

I had one small issue, that after collecting enough coins and whooshing up, I sometimes spawned inside a block, blacked out and lost a live I think. Another small issue is that the blocks sometimes cover the coins.

6 degrees by cablay 2017-05-05T10:50:31Z

Great take on the theme! One thing I didn't really like is that it feels quite linear, as far as I know only one correct path to the end. Maybe it would be better if you had to take a step back to get to the end, so for example take another nose, so you could to the orange house, so it would feel more like a puzzle game, rather than a point and click

Set Sails by Erik Brunnstrom 2017-05-03T18:33:20Z

Really nice game! It looks really good. One thing I didn't like about the controls is that I would like to have them inverted. The gameplay was quite relaxing, but at some points there was too much waiting. I really liked that the coins were physical objects that dropped down with a very satisfying noise. One thing that might help in the early game would be the ability to have multiple ports on a route, as you don't usually have a lot of passengers, and wouldn't need to buy a boat for every connection. All in all, I had lots fun playing your game, but it got a bit too easy in the end.

Crater Creator by navot 2017-04-27T14:55:32Z

@avat thanks for the feedback.

I know the evaluation is a bit rough... That was the last thing I added and I didn't really balance it properly.

Btw, I don't see any particular reason filling the screen shouldn't be possible... You just have to wait long enough (At some point some of the asteroids will spawn crashing into the planet)

Crater Creator by navot 2017-04-28T17:06:00Z

@matita about the key binding... I can't believe I missed that. I originally wanted to have the boost regulated instead of on/off and used shift like in Kerbal Space Program, but it didn't occur to me to change it back...

Thanks for the feedback

Crater Creator by navot 2017-05-07T09:03:32Z

Thanks to everyone for the great feedback!

@mortus I originally thought about implementing something like the Klaw from KSP, but the tether idea never occurred to me, that would probably have made the game easier for people who haven't played KSP / Orbiter.

@icxon Thanks for the playthrough video, it's really useful to see how other people play the game. A progress bar for the requirements is a really good idea. I really dislike how I made the whole evaluation system, that and not overshooting the target would have mad it a lot better. I originally wanted the player to put a moon in a stable orbit. That might have been some fun, because you would have to try to stop asteroids hitting it too much so it wouldn't crash into the planet, but I sadly didn't get around to it...

Johi Farm by AVAVT 2017-04-27T15:32:21Z

This is really nice game! I really liked how you had to juggle between keeping the worms from eating your plant and getting water. The boss battle was really hard.

The graphics are a nice, but a bit inconsistent. I love the cute falling animation.

One thing I found a bit irritating is that before I dug the hole, I couldn't interact with water and the seed, which confused me a bit, since it seemed the obvious thing to do (didn't realise you could move right).

Globe Trot by Richard Michael Smith 2017-05-04T18:24:28Z

Really cool game. Looks really nice, and the sound is good in the early game, however it has a major balancing issue... I played with a keyboard since I don't have a controller handy, and it was really hard to control. But it turned out that the correct strategy is to just go forward, press up and alternate between left and right to create a wide spread of bullets in front of you. Since you can shoot down the enemies bullets, and the enemies shoot at your position, and not where you are going, the only enemies and bullets that could hit you are killed by your bullets. That's how I got that score:

hiscore.PNG

To battle this issue, I would recommend having some enemies shoot where you are going, or have some stronger types of enemies whose bullets can't get shot down. By the way, going forward for a while and turning around to see a wall of bullets coming over the edge of the horizon was pretty cool!

Electric Space Jelly by inventroom 2017-05-10T16:45:11Z

Nice work! I love the graphics, the jellyfish looks so adorable! As far as gameplay goes, as others already pointed out, the arcade mode starts of really slow, and the stages are too long. One thing that I found a bit frustrating is when I pushed the planet of the side of the screen and an asteroid spawned and cracked my planet(at least I think that's what happened... might just have overlooked one and my frustration might be misplaced). A small timer when asteroids spawn that stops them from hurting your planet after spawning would be nice. I also think that turning when swimming could be a little faster or the drag a bit higher, but it wasn't a major problem. Another thing I didn't like was that the asteroids that are spawned by the two-shaped-asteroids go off in completely random direction, which makes destroying one that goes close but off to the side of the planet a big gamble, since you might just get hit by one of the smaller asteroids.

Apart from that, endless mode was a lot more fun than career mode, and the game had a really nice atmosphere. Firing the laser also felt very satisfying. Good job!

Amoebros by Spinaljack 2017-04-24T06:22:22Z

This game really needs a better explaination / tutorial.

How do you get DNA, what are the golden blobs, how do I make them escape, did they escape when they left the screen? By the way, it took me forever to realize that you could actually zoom out

Crumble Crust by Itzhak W 2017-04-26T19:10:35Z

This is a stunning looking and very polished game! I love the cute animations, the music and sounds, and the controls feel good. But apparently I do not have what it takes to get to the end...

The only minor complaint I have is that restarting the game takes a bit long, for it to be even more addictive

LD40 — The more you have, the worse it is

Spring Clean – DO NOT CROSS by blinry 2017-12-06T19:40:24Z

What a cool idea! Looks really nice and has a nice level of difficulty. One thing that was a bit glitchy was accidentally picking up cats from across the tape, you would just get stuck and had to put it down where you probably didn't want it. I actually lost on the last level because of this the first time. Also, it was really fun to see how much I improved the second time I played the last level, getting way more efficient and better strategies of keeping the cats clear of the rumba.

All in all, I had lots of fun playing this game! Great work guys!

ARCADE OVERFLOW by Remco 2017-12-06T17:58:07Z

Such a great idea! I loved that the game paused when you didn't press any buttons, so you had time to think what you had to do in all of the games... I actually managed to get through it without any game overs, but I mostly just played it safe, after realizing that you don't get any extras from eating all pacman dots for example. I also experienced a slight bug in the tetris game, I think I cleared two lines at once or something, and ended up with an empty line between two almost done lines, but apart from that it was really well done and fun to play!

Robox! by ted 2017-12-04T15:52:08Z

The game looks really amazing! The only small things that don't fit the look are the legs and the arms. It would have looked better if they were also hand drawn. But I'm really impressed with the graphics!

The rules of the game were quite unclear. I got that you should push the cubes of the side to get the hearts, but you don't really know when and on which side the cubes will fall, so should you just stand under one side in the beginning and hope for the best? Also, is there a difference between the two types of cubes? Why is there a picture of one cube on the one side, and a picture of the other one on the other side, if I still get hearts when I push a circle cube of the left side, and vice versa?

Maybe some more instructions in the game description would help.

Boiler Room Defense by cerno-b 2017-12-04T16:23:11Z

This turned out to be really fun! The game looks quite good, and it really is a great take on the theme! It feels really well polished and I don't have anything to criticize. Great Work!

Dangle Copter by pkenney 2017-12-18T11:37:50Z

This is a really cool and original take on the theme! I really liked the graphics for the people and the chopper, the little details like the facial expressions and little animation of the chopper blades were really nice, but the level graphics had some weird interpolation going on at some of the slopes. I also liked that the audio of the chopper pitched up or down relative to your movement, which was a nice touch.

The gameplay was good fun, and in the beginning I often had to remind myself to go slow and steady this time, which usually lasted until smashing into a wall, panicking and then overcompensating :) . But in the end, I really got the hang of the controls, and managed to avoid walls for the most part. The difficulty ramps up quite nicely, and adds to the polished feel of the whole game. Overall great job, you once again made a really fun game!

A cozy winter walk by tinyworlds 2017-12-08T09:39:40Z

I had to take some time to rate this, because this entry somewhat stands out, due to not really having any gameplay. It was an interesting experience, because it was so simple, and it had a nice atmosphere. I also liked that you didn't drag this out for ages without adding anything new, since it would have gotten boring. Also the graphics are super nice!

Salty Business by drtizzle 2017-12-13T19:06:45Z

Your game looks quite nice, but in my opinion the idea doesn't really fit the theme. The gameplay was also a bit unbalanced. There should maybe have been a total number of items available on an island, or the demand (and with it the price) of items should drop when you deliver a bunch of it, because I won by going between the bottom two islands buying canned farts and reselling them for 2.5 times their cost...

Sheep without Shepherd by navot 2017-12-04T20:49:45Z

@raziyya I have @cerno-b to thank, because he pushed me on the idea of adding wolves, which I then switched out for foxes, due to their higher nighttime visibility

Sheep without Shepherd by navot 2017-12-04T20:55:42Z

@cerno-b Thanks again for the continued feedback. Sound isn't really my strength, so I tend to keep pushing it back, until I just submit without any. I should really try to get some sound going earlier next time!

Shotgun City by Kodiqi 2017-12-18T15:19:17Z

This game is quite fun, but really hard. The fact that you couldn't aim made it especially hard in the beginning where you only had one gun. I don't think that it really fits the theme, since it gets easier when you have more guns, since it's possible to defend yourself against jerks coming from more than just one angle.

The camera let you get way to close to the edge of the screen in my opinion. I sometimes got shot from enemies which just appeared on screen, which is really annoying. The graphics of the people and the rain effect looked really nice, but the look of the walls didn't really fit in.

Some knock back from firing might have been nice and made things a bit more difficult, but with that there is once again the issue that if you have guns all around you, the knock back will either be canceled out or in a random direction, which would be annoying. Despite feeling that there is something that should be improved and not knowing what or how, I had a lot of fun playing your game, so good job on that!

Speedrun by Persikan 2017-12-04T18:52:25Z

The graphics are really great, and the few times I managed to survive for a bit, it was actually good fun, but I strongly agree with everybody else who said that the starting countdown is bad. Since you don't have any obstacles right at the beginning anyway, it isn't really necessary.

For me, the end screen message was buggy, and looked like this [this](///raw/ee1/3/z/ba38.png)

Purr-suasion by Raziyya 2017-12-04T20:33:18Z

I don't know whether it's just because you start noticing it when you made a herding game yourself, but this Ludum Dare seems to have spawned quite a few herding simulators...

I love the music, it's really catchy! The cats are a bit too twitchy and the difficulty could have been a bit higher towards the end. The title screen is a really cool idea! Good job and congrats on your firs LD!

Also, I peeked at your code a bit...

To fix the audio starting at zero bug:

return PlayerPrefs.GetFloat(MUSIC_VOLUME_KEY__, 1__); //(PlayerPrefsManager: 25) This will set a default value to 1, if the value has not been saved before (haven't tested it, but should fix it). I think this might fall under the category of Certain Bug Fixes in the [Ludum Dare Rules](http://ludumdare.com/compo/rules/).

By the way, the reason why your cats are so twitchy is because you basically reset the velocity every frame. Multiply Cat:57 by Time.deltaTime, to change that.

My Greedy Dog Steve by Honest Dan 2017-12-07T18:10:51Z

The game has a really interesting premise and an amazing art style. It was quite fun in the beginning, but later on you had to run around looking for enemies you hadn't killed a bit too much for my taste. This might have been worse than normal because I may have had some stamina and speed debuffs. Another complaint I have about the game is that the bridge to the bottom right of the tower was a bit glitchy. At first it didn't let me pass. I'm not sure if you have to do something to be allowed to cross, but when I tried to get across a second time, it still didn't work, however I also didn't manage to leave the bridge on the side I entered it, and could walk into the river a bit. At that point I gave up since I saw no way to get back to Steve :( [Screenshot](///raw/ee1/3/z/e32f.png)

Apart from that, I really enjoyed the game. The level ups were quite a fun nuisance, and I enjoyed choosing which debuff to get next!

Mine Games by danman113 2017-12-06T20:04:23Z

Really cool twist on the top down shooters, but I found it really hard. One downfall of the game in my opinion were the wall physics. The player would completely stop moving even if the wall is at an angle, and the mines bounced back, and not in the way you would expect (you might want to look up reflection vectors). Apart from that, the game looked and felt really great and the sound was really satisfying too.

Just Another Day by DraperDanMan 2017-12-06T15:40:11Z

Really cool game! There were some really funny dialogues, and I loved the details like the motivational posters and the mug. I think I got through the day, in the end I walked out and it just turned black, but there was no on screen message, and my last call was still going on. Also, getting the same calls multiple times, sometimes back to back, did break the immersion a bit, but is understandable for a Ludum Dare game. One suggestion that I would have, is that it should actually be somewhat possible to reduce the number of callers waiting in queue, and getting worse scores for the longer they have to wait to get through.

But overall, I really enjoyed playing this, the graphics and audio are well done and trying to help someone make Napalm was quite and interesting experience... Great work!

Please don't take this up with management, I'm already on my second strike after lying about getting in at 8 am, and I have to feed a family, you know? ;)

Woolly Roundup by Criggles 2017-12-04T14:10:18Z

Playing this game has been a really interesting experience, since our games are so similar. I really liked the challenge of having to separate the herd. The flocking was a bit rough in places, but still done well enough so you could maneuver the sheep into the pen.

The sprites for the sheep and the wolf are really nice, but I don't like how the water looks. I also think that making the edges between two tiles darker (like a darker shade of green for the grass next to water) would have made the transitions look better. There were also some visual glitches, where some lines seemed to look through the terrain.

Mo' Gold, Mo' Dragons by tvance 2017-12-04T19:23:00Z

Outmaneuvering the dragons is quite fun, especially getting them to crash into each other. I did however notice a small input bug. If you press and hold left, then quickly tap right and let go again, while still holding down left, the player won't resume moving left, but stand still, same goes for up / down. Other than that, the core gameplay is really solid and well done!

Tri-Angle by FussenKuh 2017-12-04T18:09:18Z

This game is just so much fun! First of, I loved the tutorial and how the cards animated. The popping sound is really satisfying. The gameplay is really simple, and really well polished.

Two minor points of criticism are that you can't really see where you are going when you are falling(you could change the vertical position relative to the triangle based on the velocity), and that there is no way to restart when you had a bad start, and know the attempt isn't any good.

In the end I got a highscore of 326m. I thoroughly enjoyed playing this game, great job!

Last Minute Santa by TIMOTHEUS-25 2017-12-04T19:43:16Z

Amazing graphics and audio! I loved the Santa with his covered eyes... In the beginning I also didn't realize that you had to bring the loot back to the door, you should probably put that in the description, but other than that, it was a really fun game!

Donuts!! by SadColor 2017-12-18T14:46:47Z

It took me some time to realize what I should be doing in this game, since I first thought matching donuts meant getting two or three of the same color next to each other. Some more visual or audio feedback for matching donuts would have probably made that easier to understand.

I also didn't really like the key mapping. First of, I have a German keyboard, which has the z and y keys swapped, so when I saw the zx combination, I went ahead and changed the keyboard layout, but I don't think that you could do anything with zx that you couldn't do with a and s, is there? If that is so, why did you have two layouts? I also didn't like that you chose the keys directly next to each other, since usually the ring finger presses a to go left and the index finger presses d to go right, so having s for right arm felt a bit counter intuitive.

Apart from my issues with the control scheme, the game looked really nice, and it's a nice take on the theme. The gameplay was a bit tricky and my best score was 549. Not sure if that was good or bad... Overall, it's a nice little game, that could have done with a bit more polish, but still, really good job!

Donuts!! by SadColor 2017-12-18T15:30:40Z

I guess I'm just so used to WASD controls, that I immediately put my fingers in that position... You could maybe bind s for dropping donuts instead of shift. Also I was originally confused, since it is only mentioned for catching that you can use Z/X or A/S, and not for releasing, so I wasn't 100% sure if they are the same or not

Greedy Buggy by Are Sundnes 2017-12-04T15:07:48Z

Really cool idea, the graphics are really cute too, but I found controlling the coins on the roof quite difficult. The most I got that way was three at the same time. However, I found that you could get 10/10 by just pushing the pile of coins in front of you across the finish line.

Another small note is that the keybinding for restarting the level to 'Escape' is bad when you play in fullscreen mode in webGL, as it will go back to the small size. Apart from that, really good job!
