Nice game idea and was nicely done. I can tell that it could be a good game if more time was spent on it and expanded. Overall, I think you did a good job.

bill-wheatley 2017-05-01 13:23

This looks like something that would be neat to flesh out more. Very nice look and feel and easy to use systems.

binaryferret 2017-05-01 13:27

Loved the art style, and how you presented dialogue. If this art style, and story driven dynamic was a full game I could envision (in my head) it being awesome. Sure you weren't able to create much content, but what you did create was good.

Good job, and if you expand the game I'd defo check it out.

julien-foucher 2017-05-01 13:32

Graphics are great, i will follow Baker's advice for the ratings ;)

canochaba 2017-05-01 14:47

Nice graphics and idea. It's a pity that the version was incomplete, I will be attentive to future updates. Cheers!

obvious-san 2017-05-01 16:06

"And by strap in I mean quit the game.." xD This gave me a good laugh. Man, the visual style is super nice :) Also the music and the atmosphere/mood overall. I would love to see a more fleshy version :D Good job!!

mr-field 2017-05-01 18:07

It's such a shame that it's so incomplete, the graphics, writing and audio design got me really excited to get down there and start getting stuff done, only to be told that the only way I could put my seatbelt on was to leave the car.

A wonderful start, I would love to see more of this.

gertjohnny 2017-05-01 20:29

I'd love to see this fleshed out more. The atmosphere was great, and storyline-wise it's got a lot of potential. I definitely felt like I wanted more out of it, which is pretty rare for me with jam games.

shurty 2017-05-01 21:04

Well, I had a very good laugh at the end, graphics are nice (:D) and should definitely continue on this!

wisstopher 2017-05-01 22:27

Baker was right the graphics are good, I wish there was more of this though :slight_frown:. Good effort!

samusoidal 2017-05-01 22:39

Excellent atmosphere, though I would have liked to see more detail on the ship's hull. Promising beginning to a hopefully longer game in the future.

spav 2017-05-01 22:40

Very nice pixel art. Shame there is no more :)

caterein 2017-05-01 22:40

Fantastic graphics and art style. It's a little thing, but I really loved that you used dark purple instead of black for the background of space. I know it's weird, but I love just that little difference from all the other space games! Two things I noticed - in the browser version, I wasn't able to scroll down to see the whole screen, and the "options" option of the main menu in the Windows download didn't link to anything. Don't know if that's helpful at all, but there you go!

I would be so interested in playing again if you decided to finish up the story somehow. I think it has a ton of potential, and even just in one scene, you sucked me in! I must know more about the Io incident!

tony-godfrey 2017-05-01 22:55

Seemed like there was going to be a good story, but left me wanting more. Simple controls, Good atmosphere, cute graphics, just needs more time! WebGL version was a bit sticky with the controls, which I noticed on my game when using Win 10 Edge.

redpanda 2017-05-01 22:58

The dialog at the end _"... Maybe give him a good Graphics rating at least..."_ hahaha . Sure thing buddy 5/5

flipsy 2017-05-02 01:26

Love the graphics, mood and style of the whole thing. The audio felt spot on to me as well. Not much else to say given how short it is. A fantastic start. Would definitely play a full length version.

skippuku 2017-05-02 01:41

Definitely something to continue working on.

failedstarfish 2017-05-02 17:39

Really liked the graphics and mood, it was a shame you couldn't add more. Hopefully you can work on this in the future, I would like to play more.

steve 2017-05-02 18:29

Good sound and art, well presented with a nice mood, shame you didn't have time to take it any further!

eric-florio 2017-05-02 18:41

This is great! The art style is beautiful and bring me good memories, cause it reminds me [**The Dig**](https://www.google.com.br/search?q=the+dig+game&newwindow=1&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwiq6_O-7dHTAhVPOZAKHVJYBxUQ_AUICigB&biw=1920&bih=943).

It's a shame there is no more to explore.

Good job!

eldan-knight 2017-05-03 16:42

That ending! :D Yeah, managing time is very hard and it is specially difficult in a game jam. Even if you have been in many of them, this problem can always haunt you. But I see a promising adventure there, just keep working on it if you can! -And yes, it is a very nice ship.

blinry 2017-05-03 17:42

Heh, nice ship you got there! ;)

Too bad it's only this one scene, but it was extremely well executed! Atmospheric, matching music, as well! You could make this into a running gag and add one more scene each LD! :P

furazin 2017-05-03 21:59

Goddammit you have an incredible art and game design! Your game have a great and interesting concept art, I love the spacecraft as helicopter for real. The characters animation are pretty amazing, and I am going to rate it with 5 stars for sure. I missed the parallax effect in the space background making sense of movement. Anyway, you should go up with this game and I will be glad to see if you decide to create a demo (you can contact me through https://twitter.com/Pomada_feliz if you wish). Congratulation for this good work.

randomhuman 2017-05-04 13:40

@catarein Thanks for the feedback! I'm not sure if I understand the problem you're describing with the browser version, but I've changed the dimensions in gamejolt to be a tighter fit to the game, so maybe that will fix it? The options screen I probably forgot to reactivate before doing the build, I had it disabled to work on stuff underneath it - oops!

I never use black for space these days. It looks so much more interesting if you use a really really dark shade of another colour - any colour really, whatever works with your palette! It's nice to see somebody else agrees with me ;)

randomhuman 2017-05-04 13:49

@tony-godfrey Thanks for the feedback! Sticky controls eh? Could it be this Edge bug maybe? https://developer.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-edge/platform/issues/9021586/

I don't have that browser to try it out in, but I will maybe try to include some mouse control alternative in any future updates.

tetristar-interactive 2017-05-05 05:27

I was incredibly disappointed there wasn't more to enjoy.

mutatedsoftware 2017-05-09 18:10

Thanks for sharing. The walk cycle was great and I enjoyed the writing :D

local-minimum 2017-05-09 18:53

Nice ship! More seriously though. I liked the interactions and the stuff that managed to get into the game. It was a bit annoying that keybindings worked for WASD in everything but dialogue option. The music and the little sound effects really made the mood. The camera sliding helped fill the scene that was otherwise a bit void of life. The ship kind of felt like it was floating in front of a backdrop rather than being out in space. But I'm not sure exactly how that should be fixed except perhaps making the hull darker except for own light on the hull. We are supposed to be pretty far out in the solar system. I would have liked to get to know where this game was heading if it had more content. And if it had more content perhaps ease up on the pacing of the amount of information introduced at the beginning. But as a glimpse into a world that has yet to be, it was enticing.

mwcz 2017-05-10 02:35

I LOVED the pixel graphics! I love the attention to detail on the ship, like the animated panel on the wall. It reminded me a lot of Monkey Island but in space!

navot 2017-05-10 15:35

Awesome graphics and a really good looking walking animation! Your game had a really good atmosphere and I really enjoyed the self deprecating humour (not sure if that's the correct word, but I'm going with it). However, it felt like something was missing from the game, but I can't quite put my finger on it...

But still, really good job on the things you managed to get into the game!

randomhuman 2017-05-12 20:44

@navot Would that be... gameplay? ;) Thank you for your kind words!

axoona 2017-05-12 21:29

It's a very good ending :D

anyway, very nice graphics, music and mood in general. The story is intruguing. after this introdution I would expect some sort of cyberpunk investigation with a few twists. You should definitely develop the rest (although I know it's easier said than done)!

paulhocker 2017-05-16 04:51

great idea, too bad you could not finish it - i loved the humor at the end - off the charts

puppetmaster 2017-05-16 20:58

"give him good ratings" Yes I will :) Great entry you have made with a good atmosphere. Keep up the good work!

lone-spelunker 2017-05-19 05:44

This is really great work, but it certainly doesn't deliver on the promise from the first scene. This is a real shame, because what's there is SO strong! I'd love to play the fully-fleshed out game of which this is the first scene. It's clear you've got some great world-building and writing in place already, and the art/animation/interaction style really lends itself to the tone. I could see this fleshed out into a commercial game. Well done.
