LD38 — A Small World

A Small Room by brookzerker 2017-05-03T10:41:24Z

Neat game, enjoyed your audio effects.

Invasion - The Chronicle by Kappa.B 2017-04-30T15:22:19Z

Very cute graphics, just not a fan of deck building games. The instructions were way too overwhelming. I could not really absorb it until I needed it. A better in line presentation would probably go over better.

The sound and design and all the rest were awesome. I just think not being a big fan of deck builders and the instructions being hard for me to grok I didn't stick it out long enough.

Mediator by randomhuman 2017-05-01T13:23:50Z

This looks like something that would be neat to flesh out more. Very nice look and feel and easy to use systems.

Space Hummus by dietzribi 2017-04-24T12:32:59Z

Very nice work

Hi Pluto! by nekoballs 2017-05-03T10:48:43Z

Very neat game, thanks for sharing. I found it pretty hard and the respawn system didn't seem to work as the docs indicated, or maybe I was not groking it properly.

A Relatively Small World by Samusoidal 2017-05-07T15:58:06Z

Interesting concept, the art style and music was amazing. Now I see why my annoying alert bells bugged you so much lol, what a contrast. I found the puzzles hard but that was probably just a scope thing. Do you have a video of how you did the art? I really like that style a lot.

Trapped in Engineering - My Game first time by Bill Wheatley 2017-04-30T23:21:40Z

Thanks, yea it was 50/50 on my play testers on knowing what to do. I appreciate the feedback, I could have done a much better job on the tutorial. <3

Trapped in Engineering - My Game first time by Bill Wheatley 2017-05-02T09:33:26Z

LOL thanks @randomhuman

Trapped in Engineering - My Game first time by Bill Wheatley 2017-05-03T00:28:03Z

@2kah, thanks fixed! Appreciate the kind words.

Trapped in Engineering - My Game first time by Bill Wheatley 2017-05-04T08:17:28Z

Yea the audio I'd have tweaked it turned into eventually it was just constantly running. Thanks for the feedback. What res were you running the game at? Curious about looking into the dialogue windows. I have a 4k monitor but built things to run on 1080p.

Trapped in Engineering - My Game first time by Bill Wheatley 2017-05-04T08:18:53Z

@philip45 yea the lighting in the webgl version leaves something to be desired considering so much time went into baking the lights and tweaking them. Thanks for the feedback.

Trapped in Engineering - My Game first time by Bill Wheatley 2017-05-05T23:24:52Z

Hah thanks @samusoidal, Yea i found the stuck in the corner issue yesterday myself. I should patch that out, And agreed, the sounds are a bit grating after awhile. Thanks for trying it out and giving feedback. I appreciate the time.

The theme was small world, your world was being stuck in a tiny engineering room. :) Yea i'm weird lol I went with the theme after listening to Quill18 talk about an engineering game where you work in the engine room. With a little more time I think it would be more fun and less, running back and forth like a turkey.

Trapped in Engineering - My Game first time by Bill Wheatley 2017-05-07T15:51:37Z

Aww thanks @nekoballs you're the first person to reach the turbolift. The idea was to be repetitive, but if i had more time repetitive but less annoying about it. Thanks so much for taking the time to play it.

A Small Hell by psychead 2017-05-01T13:17:43Z

Like DennyRocketDev, i was in the same boat. Really good vibe though.

Crash Cassini FOR SCIENCE by 2kah 2017-05-01T13:31:20Z

Neat game, I liked the focus on space & science. The thrusting was a little confusing but i got the hang of it eventually.

Repair Shop by negativegeforce 2017-05-03T00:35:06Z

I had trouble understanding what to do, but the geometry was very awesome. Very beautiful work for so little time. Would be nice to know the controls and what i'm supposed to do, so i can take another crack.

LD42 — Running out of space

Your PC run out of space by Listonos 2018-08-12T21:27:03Z

I really liked it, I wish there was more icons but you got me to laugh. :)

Running out of time - A maze game. by Bill Wheatley 2018-08-13T08:50:31Z

@memel06 Yea I ran out of time with what I wanted to do so i had to go a little more yuck then I wanted. And I'm sad to see you got stuck, I'll work on the collision detection a bit more. It was different with ECS Hybrid so i was still wrapping my head around the differences. I should have put a "get unstuck" button. :) thanks for taking the time to play.

Running out of time - A maze game. by Bill Wheatley 2018-08-13T08:51:31Z

@somuch My son wanted the zombies, and he wanted them to chase you, I ran out of time to get the A* pathfinding working. I was using ECS Hybrid for the player controller and the new tilemap stuff from unity. I had been use dto use spritetile in the past and the unity stock stuff is "different" enough that it threw me for a loop. Thanks for playing.

Running out of time - A maze game. by Bill Wheatley 2018-08-13T08:52:18Z

@marcel-oyuela-bonzani yea that is one thing i wanted to do, but I'm still getting a handle on how to scope things during a jam. I think this one was more complete then the last one, but hopefully next time it's even "better".

Running out of time - A maze game. by Bill Wheatley 2018-08-13T10:25:38Z

@truc-e thanks for the feedback, yea i need to work on the collisions but ran out of time trying to go too big. What gameplay ideas do you think would have helped? My kids actually want me to keep working on this so they can play it, they enjoy puzzle games. Thanks for taking the time to answer. :)

Running out of time - A maze game. by Bill Wheatley 2018-08-13T19:46:12Z

@leave you can hit 'retry level' on the right and you start the same level over again unless you ran out of lives. At least you should.

Running out of time - A maze game. by Bill Wheatley 2018-08-13T19:47:11Z

@mrnyarlathotep was supposed to be lava & water, i never got time to finish the shaders for them. :) And I wanted to have the tiles fall apart as time passed but I did a bad job scoping. Thanks so much for the feed back. :)

Running out of time - A maze game. by Bill Wheatley 2018-08-15T08:18:14Z

@krapht hah yea as i played it i realized the start was probably too hard, and backwards. Thanks for checking it out.

Running out of time - A maze game. by Bill Wheatley 2018-08-15T08:19:02Z

@fivenamefivesocks thanks for checking it out. Yea I need to get better at my time management. The janky collisions were less janky then after my first pass lol. Thank you for the feedback.

VCR STAR by erebus 2018-08-15T08:20:00Z

A Way Out by sdrrv 2018-08-12T21:44:46Z

Neat use of the concept, i liked the pixely art. The game play was fun if not super challenging.

DarkSide by guxiang 2018-08-13T07:36:40Z

A bit more music would have added to the atmosphere, nice work on the game though.

ROoS by Stephen Coley 2018-08-12T21:49:44Z

Challenging and fun. I got past like the 4th level with the triple jump but couldn't make it further. Great sound work and fun.

Space Saver by Lefinno 2018-08-13T07:39:08Z

Neat game, the controls didn't feel super intuitive but the music was very nice and felt very in place.

JumpArround by Leave 2018-08-12T21:42:08Z

The motion blur was rough, but i loved the art style and the simplicity. Nicely done.

I loved this game and it was really well done.
