Hey ! Linux user here.
I tried to play but after installing the dependencies i ran the program and got this
"There is no data folder"
Although i have the data folder right next to it, as i just unzipped it.
(Btw i love your graphics)

Hello! @sheepking Thanks for checking out the game, Im really glad you enjoy the art I was trying to go for childish make-believe vive when creating it. :)
Anyways Im a bit confused with message. It was not clear to me whether you were able to solve the issue. Regardless Ive done a quick google search for the problem and I came across these two Unity threads.
http://answers.unity3d.com/questions/28199/data-folder-next-to-the-executable-solved.html
http://answers.unity3d.com/questions/1175246/unity3d-run-on-linux-show-there-is-no-data-folder.html
If you are able to solve please let me know In the mean time I will keep an eye out for possible solutions.
Best of luck
I should start off by saying that your concept is fantastic. The idea of a deck-building small tower defense, for some reason, intrigues me, but is understandably difficult to execute within 48 hours. Once you had the base game finished, you also had to worry about each card, which also needed to be interesting, and by playing the game, I can tell that you didn't have quite enough time to finish. Sometimes the game was a bit hard to understand, and I'm still not sure how to get research points (which felt important). I wasn't sure if I just never had the right cards to enable getting me research points, or if it's actually incredibly difficult to do so. Also, the UI got a bit confusing. Sometimes I would click on a button, but had to interact rather than being given the option to exit out. This was a major problem when I would choose to destroy a card. Finally, the lack of a visual/audio reaction to shooting ships got a bit confusing, although it wasn't too difficult to understand.
I love the graphics in the game, and the cards were all interesting. I saw SO MUCH potential while playing it for a post-compo version, and would love to see you make that. Almost everything felt very well thought out, and had a certain amount of depth that I enjoyed. The game got me excited.
Anyways, especially given the depth that the game required, good job!
Fun idea! I had some problems exiting the recycling window if I chose not to remove something from the deck. Once I clicked it, it seemed like I HAD to remove something in order to get rid of the window.

Hey! @chaseplays Im so glad you liked the concept and I am happy to tell you that Ive already begun working on a Post-Compo version. I hope to find some spare time to finish it soon. You also commented on Research , It would seem that you got very unlucky with your draws. A Research building is provided in the starting deck. I will take this in mind and maybe give other avenues to get some research points.
Finally @nicolas-shapland and @chaseplays both of you commented on the fact that you were unable to get out of the Recycling Window without removing a card. Forgive my sleep deprived design decision. It was in fact decision I made not to allow the player to proceed without removing a card. But after further analyzes I will be fixing this and some other issues Ive come across. No longer will you be forced to Pick :)
Thank you both for the feedback
@kappa-b
Thanks for your links.
I tried everything I found on a few forums but I couldn't manage to make it work on my fedora sorry ! :/
But a friend of mine launched it without any trouble on his Arch and he let me play ! :)
I like the idea of the game (I a big fan of tower defense) and it's cool that you directly control the aiming of the turrets although i them quite slow to follow.
Anyway I hope you'll continue to develop it post-compo ! :D
The graphics look good, but could you perhaps make the background a little darker? The foreground blend in with the background just a little too much, besides that small nitpick you did a great job :)

Very nice palette for the graphics, and nice graphics too.
I enjoyed the game once I understood it but the interface caused me some problem at start.
It wasn't obvious for me that I had to activate building with the number keys on my keyboard. But it may be due to my cluelessness (if that's even a word) and the fact that I didn't realise that clicking on the explanation screen would make it disappear.
With a bit more polish to the UI, this game can be awesome.

An innovative little deck-building tower defense game. Cool art. Complex rules. Pretty surprised this was done in 48 hours. Needs some rough edges polished, but mostly with gameplay and balance, rules and controls... the dev itself was pretty polished. I didn't have any bugs or problems.

This seems like a cool concept, but it's also rather confusing. I'm not sure if certain issues are because I don't know how to do something or because it wasn't fully implemented. For instance, I couldn't figure out how to get science points. Anyway, the graphics look nice - I really like the style. Overall it looks good and seems neat but I'm not very good at it.

Hey! @veralos Thanks for playing my game and giving me feedback. I am aware that the game is complex therefore it can get very confusing very quickly. I am wondering what version of the game did you play, the Compo or the Post-Compo version??? I ask because in the new version I change how the deck dealt the player cards. This change should have given you a science building with-in the first 1-4 draws of the deck. Let me know!
Very cute graphics, just not a fan of deck building games. The instructions were way too overwhelming. I could not really absorb it until I needed it. A better in line presentation would probably go over better.
The sound and design and all the rest were awesome. I just think not being a big fan of deck builders and the instructions being hard for me to grok I didn't stick it out long enough.

Really fun (and complex) game! Have to agree with a comment that's already been posted, it would be nice if the background was a tad bit darker. What's going on in the game seems to blend with the background.

Cool idea, I love how ambitious it is for 48hrs. Unfortunately I wasn't really able to figure out how to play it, but the art style was charming- and it seems like others were able to offer decent feedback on gameplay.
Great work! :)

It took me starting over and reading the prompts to understand you rapidly bash number keys. It is fun and I can see a gem of a planet defending game lying at it's core.
This is a really ambitious entry. It seems like this has a lot of potential post compo. It would be fun to play on a touch screen :)

loved the reference art style of one of the ships to the Millenium Falcon! and another one referencing Star Treks Voyager! :D Very nice and easy on the eye art style. To me that means a lot and I honestly don't think I managed to achieve that in my game, I'm terrible at art and my art in the game is quite toxic to some people I imagine. :( but yours is very nice and soothing. I wish there were a lot more sounds, like a sound each time the projectile hits an enemy or is even being shot as well as a sound when the planet gets hit (there are online sound generators you could use for that but i understand sometimes you just don't have the time for it :D) other than that the idea and gameplay are very simple and straight forward but also really cool and entertaining. Very nice. not much sound, not really any humor besides the reference to the millenium falcon, it's pretty nice and relaxing but i'll admit it gets repetitive. Don't let the rating make you feel down, this is a very nice, interactive and fun game considering the short time that the LD gives us to make a game, but rating is honest. Very good though, in my opinion this is a very fun game with good art. Good job!
I really liked the art style. The game itself was very confusing, I still don't think I really understand how to play. It seems nearly impossible to actually defend the planet, but I may not have understood how it works. Overall there is potential with the game but it needs refinement.

No really the type of game a usually play, but still enjoyable. Nice art style!
I played this the other day on Livestream: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uiOC3F43xF0
The Art is fantastic for a Jam Game. I think some feedback for the player as to what buildings do exactly, maybe making the aiming system a little more approachable.I have no idea what the radio tower does...

Cool graphics and nice idea. It was a bit hard to understand how to play though, controls are not very user-friendly and it's hard to aim with rockets. I got a lot of similar cards in a row and there was no place to use them, probably their mechanics need some adjustments. But well, that all are just small cons, something like balance issues :) The game is cool overall.
Drawings and overall style is pretty good. Very confusing tutorial. In my opinion, either turrets should shoot automatically (so player can concentrate on the resource management stuff), either resources should be gathered automatically (so player could concentrate on the shooting). In current state they distract from each other, and I, personally, couldn't really concentrate on the either one. Also I think the game would be a lot more engaging if there would be some kind of global score, or "survival timer", or maybe even leaderboards. I've played for a few minutes, and though I wasn't having any difficulties in game I also wasn't feeling like I'm achieving something. Anyway, good game, thanks.
I liked the graphical style, but I was a bit confused on how to actually play it. Audio would be great as well.

I don't manage to make it work on a Ubuntu 16.04, too bad, because it looks very cool! It seems you use Unity, could you publish & host a webgl build to make it available online?

@kappa-b thx a bunch! Great entry, especially in 48 hours. I like the game design and graphics, I was a bit worried by all the instructions at the beginning, however, after few minutes, it's really simple and cool to play :) Good job!
Nice concept, had some trouble understanding the whole thing, and the UI had some problems. But overall very creative entry.
A very difficult game. One of those big projects that you cannot finish. I'd work on a user-friendly interface. Now to understand extremely difficult. PS How to start the game again?!
Nice concept, but a little bit too hard for me. Design is fun. Well done ++
For someone that says that they aren't much of an artist, you did a great job! The style is very consistent and works well! Unfortunately I was very lost in the gameplay and couldn't really figure it out! I do appreciate that you managed to get a fair amount of complexity into your game which is impressive for such a short time! I know that the time is tight and things like tutorials fall by the wayside but if you do take this further it would be great to see a bit more of a tutorial to guide you through the initial stages :)

Looks great! Kinda hard to figure out how to play though ...
Very ambitious!
Well done man! Perhaps is hard in some ways so I recomend you try balance!! But is beautiful
Graphics are pretty. Game concept seemed really cool, although a bit complicated to figure out, even with the intro. Music was nice but could have fit the game a bit better. Overall solid submission! Seems like it has potential if you ever continue to develop it.
Cool graphics and a wonderful mood. It was super cool to play it.
I found this difficult to understand. Instructions were so long that I have to admit I skipped over them and just tried to figure it out on my own. Seems like the concept is good though.

I like the graphics. The game concept seems promising but ends up being confusing. Maybe with better explanations.
As I said on the stream, I love the art, and I can see a bigger game hidden in here. Very ambitious, and would love to see more out of it as time goes on. Awesome entry!

Hey man, really cool game. I can see where you are going with it, but a lot of it feels incomplete. Building stuff was fun, but I don't know if the deck building aspect really worked out that well since it was just frustrating to not get the one you needed. I think have a tower defense/city builder is a really cool concept though. Maybe you could make the deck building part more ancillary to the main game. I feel like the aiming could have been a lot more player driven to make the game more fun. If it was easier to control where you aim, you could have a lot better pacing by making the gameplay a little more twitchy. I could see if being very chaotic if you had to manage aiming a lot closer while simultaneously building your planet up.

Am excited to see where you take this! It has a lot of potential! I also agree that I would love to see more of the deck building aspect. I ended up ending my run after things stopped spawning for a few minutes and I spent all my resources shooting into space after which everything suddenly spawned! Was a good time! Really appreciate that you uploaded the web version, good luck!
Seemed like a really promising concept but I have no idea how to play, lots of information presented on screen from the beginning and makes it confusing. Beautiful art style and nice attempt in 48 hours though. Needs music and sound :)

Great concept, deck builder/planet defense, but controls not quite intuitive enough. Graphics pretty cool (UFOs had a bit of a Beatles yellow submarine vibe to them)
Gameplay is pretty unique & art is great. Learning curve is a little bit high though. Good job!
