I thought it was nice, however it became very tedious and boring after a while.

I thought it was nice, however it became very tedious and boring after a while.
It was a nice, simple game, however the robot was a bit slow and made the fact that there was no checkpoint system a bit more tedious. But overall I thought it was nice and the sounds the robot made helped set the mood a little.
I enjoyed this game and the extra polish and dialogue really did it for me! Though the controls were a bit weird, this is one of my favorites
Nice idea, but was not the most user friendly game.
Interesting concept.
Controls were rather unresponsive, so I probably would have played more if I could control it better.
Though you ran out of time and didn't get to add a lot of the stuff, I liked the concept and some of the bugs were entertaining!
It was pretty awesome dude, I enjoyed it!
I enjoyed the story.
I really liked the art and music, gameplay was a tad lacking but overall I enjoyed it.
I liked it, it was rather lighthearted and some of the effects made me very slightly chuckle.
I liked the music, but gameplay was a little lacking. Overall I think you did well.
It kind of surprised me at first, so I enjoyed it!
It was a nice concept but rather tedious.
I enjoyed it, I think this could be an interesting concept for a game if it were extended.
It was fun to play with others and had nice graphics and music. I liked it!
Thanks, I do plan on making this into an actual game after I finish my current game. I was hoping to have had audio, several more enemies, and unique specials for each character, but I didn't plan time correctly and ran out of time. So hopefully yall will see a full version of this game coming out in the next few months!
I enjoyed it. I liked the atmosphere.
Haha wow, first I was unimpressed with the math game, then I got rick-rolled... Haha,Made me laugh. I liked it.
It was simple but entertained me for a little, greater variance and an clear objective or goal to work toward would be nice.
I really enjoyed this one. I did not have a chance to go all the way through because it took me a little bit to get used to. However I think the concept is fun and the music fits. I will probably come back and try to beat it later when I have the time, if that tells you anything about how I liked it!
It was a nice idea, I kind of just skimmed the description at first and thought the goal was to look for cake residue on the monster that ate it as a memory spot the differences thing and made it to level four on blind luck, then realized it was actually completely different.
Was a fun little game, played until I got trapped in a physics loop but you know its bound to happen occasionally physics based platformer, especially if there is only 48 hours to work through the kinks!
Am excited to see where you take this! It has a lot of potential! I also agree that I would love to see more of the deck building aspect. I ended up ending my run after things stopped spawning for a few minutes and I spent all my resources shooting into space after which everything suddenly spawned! Was a good time! Really appreciate that you uploaded the web version, good luck!
I really enjoyed this game! Gaining minions is one of my favorite game mechanics! The artwork was nice and the music fit as well. I would have liked more variation in enemies, but for a competition entry it had a good amount of content!
Some kind of reworking of the base attack would be nice because of constant mana problems. Having some kind of other upgrades or finding new wands or what-not would be really nice!
Would love to see you expand this game! Good job and good luck!
This is a real neat game! Did several runs on both versions and think there is a lot of potential. Could work well as a simple puzzle game but could definitely see it being a pretty complex strategy game with all kinds of land and building types. Some of the RNG components are a little strange but also interesting such as getting farms before water so they just turn into wastelands.
Hope you work on this more, good luck!
Really enjoyed this entry! The pseudo-3d was really well done and worked well with the art! Overall a solid entry!
I appreciated the aiming in this, it felt good to me and I always felt able to hit what I wanted to. The movement was a little bit harder for me to get used to but I like the scroll wheel a fair amount. I had a few issues with the WASD controls at first but I got used to them and enjoyed the additional mouse control I had for aiming due to movement not being reliant on the mouse too much.
It was difficult but fun to try to master to counteract that. The music was nice and the little bits of story definitely helped the experience, along with the introduction of new enemies.
Good job!
I really enjoyed this project! The atmosphere was wonderful I would love to see more of this. This is one of those projects that makes me really glad that ludum dare exists because I love looking at the source code for projects like this just to see how people decide to implement different features.
I enjoyed the controls, I don't think it would work as well with standard WASD controls, maybe they could be revised further but this manual form of movement is really nice!
I hope you do work on this more and hopefully do get VR working because this atmospheric type games are my favorite for VR. Good job with this and good luck!
I enjoyed it after I got into the swing of things! It was a little confusing making sure I was sending everyone to the correct place so I think it would really benefit from having hotkeys for different actions and selecting specific units.
I was able to get over 50% research completed before I accidentally got one of my workers killed. I enjoyed it though, I think a little bit more progression during a run such as researching or building various upgrades could be really nice, good job!
Good entry! I enjoyed a lot about this game, the art was nice, good effects, the music fit better than you would for being about destroying viruses as a nanobot! One comment is that one room in the loop appears to be designed to enter from the bottom so when I entered from the top I had no room to escape the monstrosity that was on top of me! I really enjoyed it though, good luck!
It would be nice to maybe have powerups appear in some spaces so that you can recharge after using them. I kind of like the RNG but a little bit more control somehow would be nice. Good entry!
I enjoyed several parts of the game, super glad that my workers repopulate themselves because I lost two of them immediately! I spent the first minute just shooting my guys before the aliens showed up, so I'm glad their isn't friendly fire yet, although that could certainly add something nice to the game. I think it will be interesting if you add the ammo restriction with requiring the workers to make it, would definitely add nice layer to the game.
Right now the main issue is the bullets traveling only to the cursor, threw me off for a bit. But other than that it was a fine time. Good luck!
I had a good time with this game. It has a nice relaxing feel to it. A enjoyed a lot of the dialogue, there were a lot of Rick and Morty references, I didn't understand all of them there were so many. Also flattery is no way to gain better ratings, they said they really liked my game but I doubt they have even played it. Enjoyed my time, good luck!
Really enjoyed this entry! The mechanics were fun and it felt polished! The background and score display worked very nice!
The narration was really nice, it had a nice dry humor! The art and effects work well as well. The main thing I would suggest is either make the game part a little more game-y by adding something like a score tracker or slightly more mechanics so that it stays engaging or make the difficulty ramp up faster so that the story progresses quicker without having to resign yourself to defeat after a while.
Overall I really enjoyed it though. Good job!
Cute little game, AI is nice!
I enjoyed it! 70% of my deaths were me walking off the edge and the other 30% were the blue slimes just shoving me all the way! The art was nice and cute and fit well. The main thing I would ask is maybe some way of giving you a chance to recover when you almost walk off of your own volition such as teetering at the edge for a second, just to make it harder to kill yourself. It's a good entry though, good luck!
I enjoyed my time with this game. The ships controls were definitely a bit slippery and often times after exiting a planet I just didn't fly right any more. But I'm glad you added in the abilities to counteract these things, especially a way to stop being stuck to the planet.
Why do all these planets hate me so much though, they are fine when I exploit all of there resources but if I dare stand a reasonable distance away they want me dead.
Would love to see where you go with this game afterwards! Good luck!
It's a fun concept! Was thoroughly unprepared for level 3! Some sound effects would be nice but it was a fun time! Would love to see this expanded with a little world building to make the overworld seem that much more adventurous!
It has a nice aesthetic and color palette. Camera is a bit jumpy but it has nice atmosphere. Do you think you will end up going more story driven or action based with this if you continue working on it?
It is a fun concept! I like mushroom themed games and defense shooters and a defense shooter-esque game themed as a fighting game is just fun! would love to see other characters with unique movesets! At first I as well did not really get what my moves were supposed to do as shooting did nothing to the opponent but once I figured it out it became pretty interesting! The wind at times was very unforgiving giving me little chance to attack but it was a fun time regardless, good job!
Good job it's a really satisfying game! I like the color scheme and especially like the little mini map in the corner. The feeling of watching you no scope yourself from across the map is great. Really enjoyed this entry!
Really enjoyed it! I like rogue-likes a whole lot, would love to see this developed more with additional types of upgrades! I did experience one small bug where after I got multi-shot I could no longer turn when I shot. Was thinking it might have been for balance reasons since multi-shot was so good but was really glad on the next run when I could actually turn when I had it! Great game, good luck!
This was well done. Hopefully you are planning to work on this more because I can only imagine some of the features and puzzles you might add such as you know mitosis, I feel like mechanics surrounding that would work real well with levels like encagement in mind.
Other than that I would definitely agree that something needs to be done about the size of the level, your speed, or more engaging obstacles because right now the levels do drag on.
Good job though, I enjoyed it!
I enjoyed my time with this, didn't even notice something had happened to my people until I noticed they were flying away. Could make a pretty interesting game if it were expanded and had more settlement building!
Definite bonus points for working on a nes, you were able to recreate the feel of the era nicely. Would have been more bonus points if you had indeed done assembly!
Enjoyed this a lot, I'm a big fan of rogue-likes. Once I realized how good rocks were I enjoyed finding them all over the place! The music also fit well, good job!
Graphics are nice it works really well with the photo! You have already addressed the main gripe I had which was the size of the hitbox, but yeah only 48 hours! Besides that it was enjoyable, I played to the end!
This was a good little puzzle game. It had a good amount of content for the time limit. I don't think the controls were too clunky although changing them so that you have the option of using only the keyboard or only the mouse would be nice. With some music and more art this would be a nice game!
This was a very beautiful game! It was very relaxing, simple maybe, but it was satisfying, the art and effect worked really well with the music and I enjoyed my time with it! I liked the progression of gameplay with the different modes.
The "boss" battle surprised me and was a nice touch. Would like to see more, good job and good luck!
It was real stressful in a good way, the control scheme is a little weird but it makes it kind of better. It was difficult to remember what buttons I meant to be pressing and added to the sense of urgency. The buzzing when something goes wrong added some real tension.
It's an interesting concept for a game as well, management with some precision presses and urgency. The music and art style worked well. I hadn't noticed the status bars at first, they definitely helped!
Good job!
This game has a lot of good stuff going on! Nice progression, leveling, great art, it all comes together for a good experience. I love the exploration/unknown aspect especially at the cost of your health. I was barely hanging on by a thread when I ran into two meats in a row. It's a nice feeling! Finding all these new places and items is really fun!
I'm on the fence about the best way to handle death in this game, on the one hand I was glad I didn't lose all my progress, on the other hand I don't know if it was punishing enough. For ludum dare it's probably better to have it the way it is!
The only thing missing is some music and it's a real nice time, can't wait to see where you take this! Good job!
This was a really neat game! I enjoyed trying to line of multiple comets at once! I really like the color of the lines to approximate collision time, it made it a lot more doable!
It's a cute game! Could definitely see it expanded with some additional mechanics. As you have agreed with already the shift key is a little redundant right now but once other functions can be applied to the blocks it will make sense. I can imagine different powerups such as being able to build a spring on a block that catapults them over a few blocks.
I hope you do expand on the game good job and good luck!
Once I understood everything that was going on it became pretty interesting. I liked how different each generation of the world could be in terms of hints given and powerups offered. The jumping and boosting was definitely a bit difficult, the first time I got a boost powerup I just flew off the world because it launched me so far!
Its an interesting style, could use some new art but other than that, good job!
Loaded in and accidentally shot Earth for 100 damage, interesting start to an interesting game! I like several things about it, I like that you can shoot the enemy bullets but I feel like something needs to be changed about it so that your not just continually shooting each others bullets. Maybe making the fire rate slower so you have to be more precise with them? But then again that would change the feel of the game potentially so I don't know what you think might be best! I enjoyed it though!
This could definitely be a fun multiplayer game! I enjoyed the mechanic a lot, it's real satisfying watching all the particles move around the screen. Good job!
Good entry! Hope you expand on it further. The only thing really lacking was the audio. Was a good time otherwise!
Thank you, I definitely plan to add a lot more to this!
@kamranicus That would be a nice talk to listen to, right now I'm really trying to decide how I want to handle attacking as I move forward. I may decide to allow changing of weapons at will between the various ones you find in the world including melee and ranged, but adding some sort of complexity to it is definitely desired!
@fil089 Definitely want to polish this game up nicely, I think I will try getting a little bit more of a concrete story/goal of the game in place and then focus on polishing the existing structure to what I can make of it.
Thanks for the feedback!
Thanks everyone! Finally in a position to work on this game again. I think I am going to expand this to be a complete web game first but then make a larger more complex game based on the same idea but with a complete overhaul. I appreciate all of the feedback greatly!
It was pretty challenging and fun! More focus on the music could serve it really well! I enjoyed it, good luck!
I enjoyed this entry! It would be interesting to see how you would expand upon the idea to make it a more complete game with varied puzzles as the game progresses, but as a standalone puzzle it is pretty solid!
At this point I'm not sure if the fuel mechanics need to be balanced considering it can take so much energy to move fuel that it's not worth it or if level layout needs to be tweaked to make it more feasible.
It could definitely use a bit more instruction but it makes sense after a game or two. Good entry!
I liked the overall concept of the game and the atmosphere! The mouse controls for the shovel were super finicky and made it generally hard to play but I think it could be pretty fun if expanded upon and the controls made more intuitive. I also liked the music. Was there a way to restart from within the game or do I have to refresh, not sure if I just missed it. Good entry!
Thanks! We were not able to get as much finished as needed due to illness, but we are happy with it considering it was the first time our music guy ever made music and my first time using gamemaker for an actual project, which I really like so far compared to certain other engines. We would like to fix some of the issues in a new build to make it more finished.
@jaako Ah thank you I'll fix that once I work on this again!
Yeah, I can't wait to have more time to make this an actual game with a purpose, the z spam is something that will definitely be taken care of.
I liked the concept of the game a fair amount! I like the having to make the judgement call of picking up one of the super powerful upgrades considering that if I misuse it I will just die anyways. It was a fun game but there were a few issues that prevented me from being able to actually enjoy it. The shooting didn't work right at time as it would try to select text on the rest of the page when I moved the mouse within the bounds of the game. I don't know if there was also issues with pressing multiple buttons at the same time but I would often find the controls suddenly completely unresponsive.
I agree with the sentiments of enemies spawning requiring fixing as well as generator health rebalanced, but overall I enjoyed your entry!
I really enjoyed this entry, it was super satisfying to throw a whole group of enemies into the furnace at once. The general mechanic of picking up your enemies is just nice. Refining the movement and expanding the game in general will do a lot of good for it.
I appreciate a lot about this game and would love to see you work on this game further!
I didn't realize I was playing the updated version at first, but I went back to the original version and in a weird way I kind of enjoyed the original controls more than the updated. Don't get me wrong, the the original controls felt a whole lot harder and clunky at first, but it does feel a little bit more fun and smooth once you are used to it compared to standard wasd movement.
The general concept is nice and could be pretty fun if more is added to the game but it is a nice base. Good entry!
It was an interesting concept have the level rotate, I enjoyed the overall mechanics, the main complaint being the hit boxes. Music and art were both satisfactory, the current level designs felt mostly clunky, but I think it is a nice concept that can be expanded upon into a good game!
Good luck and good job!
This was a really solid entry! I enjoyed the amount of polish that went into the art and the collecting of clothing was a nice touch. It was good to see that you were able to make a functional polished tutorial. I would say that the gameplay itself is the weak point of the entry as in many ways it seems mostly chance based but it was an interesting play none-the-less!
Definitely one of the most overall polished games I have seen so far the audio and visual feedback were very nice, good job and good luck!
This was a solid entry! The music was funky and the animations were really nice! I liked the overall concept and picking your bullets back up after satisfying was satisfying, catching them on the rebound.
The only thing I think it is lacking is more of an ending, but overall this was a really good entry!
This was an interesting entry! I managed to beat it on my second try with only zoe left! The strategy that goes into choosing fighters is nice and it's interesting how you learn more about how different fighters change based on previous actions! The design of the characters was nice as well!
I would appreciate a way to skip the beginning dialogue and also some sounds but overall this was a nice entry!
I really enjoyed this! The audio was great! The voicework was really good and fit really well with the style of the game! I immediately started the first level by throwing several people to their doom without even realizing it!
It worked really well with the theme once I realized what they were supposed to be for! The gameplay itself was challenging and fun, though a bit tedious later on. The banjos were a really good choice for the style of game!
Overall this was a very nice entry, one of my highest rated for humor and audio!
This was an interesting entry, the graphics were nice although I would appreciate a little more to change on the map as you progress. The movement was satisfying though, although I agree the sacrifices speed could be lowered just a little so there is less running in circles. I also had my score continue to increase after I died which was interesting!
Overall this was a nice entry!
I really enjoyed this entry! The graphics were very nice and the audio was appropriate for the strange chaotic frantic gameplay trying to stay ahead of the wolf! I think the sacrifice mechanic worked well and it was nerve wracking being able to look back and see the wolf slowly making his way towards you!
Unfortunately I ran into an an issue where I kept being moved outside the fence and couldn't get back in. Overall I really enjoyed the game though!
The game was running smoothly in general, I can't recall if there was a lag spike right before it happened as it happened so quickly and I would just suddenly be on the other side of the fence. Sorry I can't be more specific!
This was a very interesting game! The way the pledges changed was nice and the little bits of story being picked up was interesting! The way the character spun around was humorous. The controls were a little frustrating with how the character would continue sliding for a bit, but I could understand why that would be desired with making the lost controls more dangerous!
I played through for both endings after accidentally choicing one of them immediately without even going to see what the other option was.
Overall this was a nice entry!
This is a very nice entry! The graphic are super smooth and the animations are satisfying! The puzzles took a while to ramp up in difficulty but the second to last level was pretty hard!
The game controls really good and the ability to reverse moves was a nice addition although it did not quite work on laser levels. This game fit the theme very nicely and the overall concept was good!
It could use a better ending and menus, but for a Ludum Dare game it worked well enough. The lack of sounds is a shame, hopefully you will continue working on it and add some!
Overall this is a very nice entry!
When I try to attack a townsperson they push me and the game freezes on html5, so I havent been able to try it yet! But the style looks interesting!
This is a very nice entry. The polish is great, sounds, arts and animation all wonderful. It's a creative use of the theme as well! Definitely one of the top games for overall feel and execution.
The addition of small elements such as the blood bags really helped to elevate it into that overcooked category. It would take a little more to make it a game I would want to play as a full game by myself but I think it could work well as a somewhat morbid multiplayer party game, hopefully you decide to keep working on it because I think you can turn this into something great!
I really enjoyed this entry! It was a nice little wholesome tale, only thing I could give critique on i the length, but I really can't complain, you set out to create a small narrative experience and it is what you did! The audio and graphics worked very nicely together!
This was overall a very nice entry, a bit simple, but well polished and wholesome!
This was a nice entry! The UI was fairly polished and I appreciated the number of options that we had in the to-do area. The graphics and music worked nicely in it! This is an interesting game just because I don't really know for sure how all of my choices end up affecting things. It would be interesting to know if there are specific choices you can make that will lead to perfect games.
Overall this was a solid entry!
@pantoufle Thanks for the in depth explanation! I appreciate that features can have the type "useless"!
I appreciated the overall atmosphere and art style! My first playthrough my guy immediately dropped all 3 items and I just kept running right, nothing really happened so I didn't really understand what was supposed to be happening. The second time he dropped a single item and I went back for it real quick and then I discovered the horde!
So I played again understanding the game and was able to save all 3 items! I think this is an interesting base for a game but it needs a little more to it than just mashing buttons. Possibly having more hiding spots that you have to quickly jump in for a moment as enemies come from different directions.
Overall this was a nice entry!
This was a very interesting entry! I enjoyed the atmosphere and the overall concept of it was fun! I enjoyed the music and animations, my biggest gripe is just that I never really felt at risk of losing. I was able to keep going without much risk until the game eventually crashed. I think this could be mitigated by adding in a few more events and options that we need to prepare for, like the battle event.
I think this type of game would work well with a few more elements like Oregon Trail such as a few mini games, although I could understand if you didn't want to go that direction.
Overall I really enjoyed the entry, hopefully you will continue working on it!
This was an interesting entry! I enjoyed the art and overall concept however it had several quirks that made it a bit tedious to play. Cards had a habit of going under the table when I tried to move them meaning I would have to drop them to get them back up, but they would land and make a mess. The board quickly became a bit too messy to really keep track of everything. There was also a bit too much text to read to get started.
Overall I do think that this was an interesting game and a good entry, hopefully you can work on it more afterwards to make it a bit more wieldy!
The game controlled nicely and I really like the trailing effect you had for the weapon! Overall it had a nice atmosphere and an interesting take on the theme.
IF you continue to work on it I think it could become a very interesting game! Good entry!
I enjoyed this entry! I like the overall setting and I think going around growing veggies and making stew is a really fun base, however the camera movement was very disorienting and I had to stop playing after a bit. The slow spinning was a little nausea inducing and made it hard to make my character face where I was trying to go.
I really enjoyed the graphics though and the sound fit as well. Overall this was a really nice entry!
I really enjoyed this entry! The overall use of the theme, the narration, and the gameplay was all very nice! Some of the bugs such as the monkeys going through walls occasionally when thrown were a little frustrating as well as not being able to throw regular monkeys when you have arrows. If there was a way to switch to normal monkeys when you have arrows that would be nice!
I enjoyed the sound effects and the little animations on the monkeys. Overall I think you did very well on this entry. Good job!
Thanks for all the feedback! Having wounds show up on sacrifice would be a good idea. Different sprites for enemies are something that I really wish I had time to add as well as music! I will definitely add both as I continue to work on the game.
And sorry for forgetting about AZERTY users, that's a great point! I added in arrow key support for movement, which seems to be allowed as far as bug fixes go, since it could make it unplayable for some!
Thanks for the feedback! If I continue to work on the game I think I will definitely add a notification system displaying what stats have changed at the top of the screen. A good way that I think I will balance wounds would be to add in a system where acquiring additional wounds when you are at max to cause hp loss, this will hopefully help along with other changes to make it more of a strategic sacrifice!
This was an interesting entry, the overall concept was nice and I could see it being turned into something really fun once the kinks, such as capsules not changing colors, are worked out.
I did run into an issue, I don't know for sure that it's an issue with html5 but the movement was very sluggish compared to the video you have posted. Either way nice entry, I hope you work on it further!
I really enjoyed the style of this game! The camera and atmosphere worked very nicely! I enjoyed the art and the backing music. The controls were a little lacking and didn't feel very comfortable, it was also a little annoying dropping objects when hit by crows since it gets to a point where you are getting swarmed every second so you can't really do anything.
Beyond that I think it would be nice to have a counter or some kind of score to see on game over. Overall I really enjoyed the feel of the game, good job!
It is a shame to hear that you were not able to get the monster creation code to work, however it is still nice to have a product to show for Ludum Dare even if it did not work out as planned!
I enjoyed the music! Good job and good luck!
The aiming system took a little to get used to but overall I think think it controlled nicely enough and the effects upon shooting the rubbish were nice! I enjoyed the trophy system but the game could definitely use some kind of progression beyond just getting faster.
Overall this was a nice entry tho!
This was an interesting entry! I liked the little story it had! The puzzles were simple enough but they worked well! My biggest gripe is that having to redo the dialogue every time I lost a level was a little annoying since there was dialogue on a lot of the levels. The audio worked well be the setting and the little changes to riding hood's character s the game progresses was nice.
Overall I think this was a nice little puzzle game, more levels could be nice, but it also works well as a shorter more story driven experience!
I appreciated the overall style of the game and the puzzles were interesting! However the controls were a bit slidey, although I was mostly used to it by the end.
Having to sit through the cutscene every time you die in the last level is a little frustrating especially since the level starts so slow. If these issues were fixed I think this could be a really nice game to continue working on!
Overall it was a nice entry, good job!
I enjoyed the quotes you placed between levels, I think they really helped to set the mood! The music did get a little repetitive but I appreciate that you had a second track for the final level!
The levels could use a little more variation but overall I enjoyed your interpretation of the theme.
Good job!
I enjoyed this entry! The expression changes on the characters when sacrificed was a nice touch. The difficulty spike on the last level was unexpected but fun!
I think this game could be taken to the next level by leaning into the rhythm side of it more, get the backing music to go with it and it would work very well as, how someone a put it, "a very morbid rhythm game".
The sounds were satisfying, the cutting free sound could stand to be a little less abrasive, but it still worked well! I appreciate the effort put into the scoring and medal display system!
Overall I think this is a good entry! I hope you continue to work on it more!
I enjoyed your entry! You were right in the feedback you left me, especially at the title menu our games are basically the same haha.
This game was nicely polished, the notifications worked well, blocky animations were nice, and sounds were good. The biggest things I would suggest if you decide to work on it more are different enemy types and more impact from the sacrifices. Having the minimap really helps tho!
Overall I think this was a very nice entry, good job!
I really enjoyed this entry! The levels of polish on the map screen and burning of maps was very nice. The rest of the animations were satisfying and the sound worked well to tie it all together!
I made it with one shovel left, lost a few to thinking the maps wouldn't dare to lie about the existence of the entrance I just came from and lost the rest to plunging my shovel into the ground trying to open the map!
If you decided to work on this game more in the future I think it could work very well with some light puzzle mechanics and metroidvania style progression!
Overall this was a really nice entry, good job!
I appreciate the inspiration from old school beat em ups and I think it worked well with the theme overall. I'm not a huge fan of the delay on the health bars when taking damage and occasionally the pig would fly off to the other side of the map leaving me to try and force my way back over to him which was a little frustrating but overall it was a nice entry, good job!
I appreciated bouncing the water sprite to help simulate the exploding of the bomb! I think it could be nice to have a keyboard shortcut for the bomb, but I can understand if you wanted to keep it mouse only to make going for the bomb a little riskier as you have to plan to get it in advance before buildings get too high.
I think it could be nice to change the swiping to only destroy buildings if you do a horizontal swipe across the whole building, right now you can go vertically down the building which seems to be easier since the hitbox is larger that way, but it doesn't work as well thematically.
The score system and menus are nice!
Overall this was a good entry!
This is a very polished entry, I enjoyed every aspect of it! The puzzles were satisfying and each hero played their part (with the knight mostly playing the role of punching bag). The music was good and worked well with the overall style of the visuals and gameplay. I appreciated the existence of a level select.
The cutscenes were polished and I enjoyed the ending. The biggest gripe would be that the controls are a bit much to get used too, but there isn't too much that can be done about that with this kind of game.
Overall I think you did a great job with this entry!
I really enjoyed this entry! I like the harvest theme, watching the plants grow and be harvested is satisfying! I think the art overall worked really well. I like how alive it feels when you have all of them running around to do their tasks! Good job!
I really enjoyed the audio in this game, definitely one of the best designed entries from an audio standpoint that I've played so far! The art worked well along with the audio to create a nice atmosphere as well.
The gameplay a little lacking, but I think it has an interesting core that could be expanded into something really nice. Definitely felt a little bad for the poor guys, but it worked well with the theme!
This was overall a nice entry!
This was an interesting entry, I think the interpretation of the theme was nice, but if you had indeed been able to implement those ideas you mentioned in your description it would have worked a lot better!
The biggest gripe is that sometimes when I go up a stair it keeps moving me upward back down the stairs on the next scene. If you were able to fix this and add some sounds it would really elevate the game, but it was a nice entry overall!
This is a really satisfying game! Collecting resources is fun and exploring is very rewarding. I think the style is really nice and overall the design is just really good! I also know that whenever I see a microphone listed in tools used that we are in for something good. Overall I really enjoyed this entry!
I enjoyed this entry! The character is cute and I like the overall painted style. The double jump was a bit finicky, I could jump on branches until i spammed it enough that I flew to the top of the screen. The music was nice and it was nice just going around collecting apples, unfortunately I did not read the reviews first and I also ctrl + w'd myself out of the game haha. It was an enjoyable time though!
I appreciate farming games very much, having smoother movement would be welcome though. Keep it up!
I really enjoyed this entry! The console really added a lot to the game in my opinion. Starting off with no light or camera modules active was a really neat way to introduce the game. Both the flamethrower and grappling hook were satisfying to use as well.
The tone was set nicely with the lighting and and the music worked well for it. I would definitely enjoy seeing more done with this concept! The main critique for quality of life would be to have the help command display text faster, but I could also understand it as a deliberate choice. Either way I really enjoyed this entry!
This is one of my favorite Ludum Dare games I've ever played to be honest! The production value was out of control, art and music were both lovely, it had a great style! The humor at the beginning was very nice and the more somber tone towards the end worked well considering there is not much time in a jam game to have a longer transition.
The breaking free mechanic at the end worked well for tone and still had a great production value and transitioned really nicely into the chalkboard style. The platforming was a bit tricky in the final level but I guess that it to be expected, it took me much longer than the other levels to get right without accidentally overshooting or undershooting.
Either way this was a wonderful entry and I enjoyed it greatly!
I enjoyed this game! I appreciated how the jobs changed in style with each progression, I wasn't sure what to expect after the first job was just pressing the e button but I was pleasantly surprised with how it worked out. I think with a little bit more variety this could do well! Good job!
It also took me until the second playthrough to figure out what I was supposed to be doing, I didn't realize that there was already plants on the existing farmland, I thought it was just garbage I was clearing with the hoe so I never went to sell them. On the second playthrough I got it and it was a neat game! Overall I think it it would be nice to be able to keep moving by holding down the button, but I at the same time I kind of understand that it might be intentional that you want to force the play to move as fast as they feel the need to by having to manually press. Overall it was a good entry!
This game is well done! I was not able to play on a quest but I've enjoyed this type game on similar headsets before and this seems like has what it needs. Some form of upgrades would of course be welcome, but that can't be held against a Jam game. The art style was nice and I appreciated the tracer available for shots. Overall this was a good entry!
I liked this entry! I enjoyed the mechanic of the different characters giving you different boosts. The game seemed to quickly grow out of control as soon as I got a little bigger. I stalled for just a bit and was completely overwhelmed, lesson learned! I think this was overall a really nice entry!
I appreciate what you have so far! It is definitely a cute game and I appreciate having secondary movement abilities like the broom. The procedural generation worked nicely and I'll be excited to see what else you fill the world with if you continue working on this!
I enjoyed this entry a lot! It is a pretty engaging system already, I think it has a lot of potential and I appreciate how you were able to get some nice synergistic builds going! The art style was nice and clean, I think it has a good presentation! Overall I think this was a really nice entry!
This is really nice! I wasn't expecting the beat to drop all of a sudden haha. It is really nicely put together and has a wonderful atmosphere I really enjoyed my time playing around with it!
I survived! Once I accepted that the controls would only let me move down at an angle I was able to dance around the fish easily until I accidentally only pressed the down key and it froze the controls. Overall there was charm and there was crabs and that's all one can ask for.
(Restart button would be lovely though)
I really enjoyed this entry! It really gripped me in terms of challenge and wanting to try out new approaches to see what works. The artstyle and music work really well together I think. The enemy noises were pretty funny. Overall I had a lot of fun with this entry!
There may be only one sound effect, but you chose a good one! I think that the art style is nice and it controls well enough! Overall I think this is a good entry!
This is a really neat idea! I think it worked pretty well and the art is simplistic but nicely put together. I enjoyed this entry!
I always appreciate procedural rogue-likes for these events! I think the game was very nice and had lots of little details that worked well! For me I think the enemies were a bit tanky, specifically I would prefer having less HP on crabs in the early game and just more of them. Even if it ended up being the same number of shots I think it would feel better and also help the rooms feel less empty. Either way I enjoyed this entry!
I think the character is definitely cute! However, I also ran into the jump issue however so I could not progress further, I actually didn't realize I was supposed to be able to jump at first, I just moved around with air currents! But I later noticed that I could indeed jump but only when moving on a slope.
This game is pretty cool! I was a little confused until I managed to get the eyes mutation, then it all kind of fell into place. It's a really neat idea, I like the mutation options! Could use a little more explanation in the early game, but the presentation is nice and overall I think this is a nice entry!
I think you did a really good job! It was very satisfying to pull off certain moves and it had a nice progression of features. It did give me a bit of motion sickness and I almost had to stop playing but I was able to make it through to the end and still had a lot of fun! Spikes sending you instantly back to the checkpoint was definitely a bit jarring especially with the fact that you would immediately start moving again, I think having it pause until you click again could be nice in those situations.
Overall it was a very fun time, had nice visuals, and a reasonable amount of difficulty; I enjoyed it a lot!
I didn't get it at first and was moving so slowly that I didn't think the controls were actually working, but once I reloaded and looked at the directions again I realized that it made sense to be moving so slowly if one of the primary mechanics is gaining speed with powerups!
Overall it was enjoyable and I was able to reach the goal after 10 loops!
This is a very interesting game! There was certainly a lot of information to read through first to get an idea of how to play, but once the basic rules were understood I feel like it offers a lot of creativity for how you would like to go about the problem solving. Overall the music and visuals set an appropriate tone and I enjoyed it!
This game had a nice bit of complexity! Lots of reading to get started but it has nice mechanics and was enjoyable. I think you did a good job with the tutorial!
I think you did a good job with this! It has a nice level of polish and is satisfying to play! Having an option to reduce screenshake could be good, but overall format of constantly generating new parts of the map was well done. I enjoyed it!
I like the mechanic of moving between the game-fields of the inner and outer loops, it added a nice layer of complexity! Overall I enjoyed this entry!
Thanks all!
@ale The way that challenges work is that you need to get them fulfilled at some point during any of your attempts. The game works on a 5 day cycle so if for instance you missed the first goal of "Deliver 5 cider on Day1" you will just need to wait until you play through 5 days and the cycle restarts on day 1. Or you can press "r" to restart the cycle on day 1 so that you can attempt it again immediately.
The game doesn't ever consider a goal failed longterm since some of the goals are mutually exclusive during a single 5 day cycle. I am not sure what you mean by "I failed to deliver 20 on day 2" as I didn't include a goal for that. The second goal is to deliver 20 cider on day 5, although since it is the second goal I understand the confusion since it would make sense for it to be for day 2. I just didn't think it would be worth having an individual goal for everyday, just the start of the week and the end of the week!
Thanks again!
I really enjoyed this entry! It has really nice polish, it plays well, and there are a good number of levels! The spikes were a little difficult to work with and their hitboxes sometimes seemed a little off, but overall I really liked it!
Definitely a bit challenging but I enjoyed it! Controls were difficult to get used to but the graphics were nice and I think it worked well with the music. Good job!
I agree that the voice acting and sound design are well done; it definitely sets a mood! Actually progressing ended up being pretty difficult but I think it was overall good!
I enjoyed this entry a lot! The core mechanic is very satisfying! It took a little to get used to how your orientation reverses after colliding with something but being able to "bounce" as needed is nice. Good job!
I think you did a good job with this entry! I really enjoyed the graphics and general setting. The geometry definitely got a little bit wonky and sometimes the purple orbs would fly out of the map, but overall I can appreciate the idea of having to chase orbs around which leads to venturing into areas you may otherwise not want if you are getting low on health. I enjoyed it!
I think you did a well with this entry! I think the steady progression of new mechanics was well done and I like how the music evolved!
I think this is a cute premise for a game! Some of the hitboxes acted a bit strangely, mainly when jumping but overall though it was cute and enjoyable, good job!
This was an interesting entry! I was running into issues with several tiles not rotating at all which seemed to make the level impossible but I was able to try out the updated version and managed to get a few lamps connected! Overall it is a neat idea!
I enjoyed this a lot! The aesthetics are really nice, sound and art are both cute and overall have a nice vibe! The bunnies came fast in furious towards the end and was fairly difficult. Overall I really liked it!
I enjoyed this entry! I think there was good audio/visual feedback when you miss one which provided a nice relief when you were able to get them correct later in the game when it is going faster. It definitely got fairly difficult later on and the mouse controls were a tad difficult to work with. However the music was good and overall I think this is a nice entry!
I think you set the mood of the game well! The voice acting, sound effects, and animation all worked well together! A bit short, but that is understandable. I likewise had some confusion about needing the hold the mouse and not just click but I figured it out quick enough and overall enjoyed it!
This was an interesting game! I unfortunately seemed to get a bit unlucky where by day 80 I had almost 10 of every brewing equipment except no coolers were appearing and cost more than my beers would gain me when sold. Since there is a lot of rolling in this game I think it would be nice to have a hotkey for it as well as to leave dialogue. Overall though I like the mechanic of collecting the various beer recipes and it is a nice premise.
I think this was really well done! I was hoping you would let me pet the cat and once you brought up the "little things" I was picking up what you were putting down. The splash of color was really nice! Good job!
I enjoyed this entry! Having to protect an object that wasn't myself, with myself being the source of the gravity threw off my instincts for what asteroids were the main priority since the objects that were going to miss me and circle around were actually the most dangerous! I think the sound design worked well and I overall had a good time. Good work!
This game was interesting! For some reason I read that the controls were to click the mouse to time travel and didn't recognize the year UI as a button, but I figured it out soon enough! Good job!
This game was really interesting! At first I didn't get it because the first several notes I read just contained nothing so I stopped searching them for a bit. Eventually I was able to get it though and finished the game. It has a really nice atmosphere overall! Good Job!
This game was enjoyable! I didn't think of reading the first sign multiple times at first so I missed some tips initially, but it all got figured out! Good job!
It took a bit to ramp of before the wolfs became a concern but it became a lot more hectic then! The slow acceleration on movement was a bit odd, but it had a fun quality once I was used to it!
