Cool boy doing coal things :D
It was a bit hard to control the shovel, but I liked the mood and had fun playing it.
Maneuvering the shovel was pretty hard, but i did thoroughly enjoy the chaos that ensued on the boat. Possible bug is that the game keeps playing in the background after you loose.
Crashed on both chrome and safari, and there is no mac build. A shame because it looks really inviting. :(
@abductedplatypus Thanks for the warning! I will try to fix the Web build as soon as I can
Edit: Seems to be working now!
Fun short game, and really good looking for a compo! The gameplay if fun (even though it's a bit chaotic, I ended up doing random mouse movements to throw the coal in the oven and still won) Nice athmosphere! GOOD JOB
I liked the overall concept of the game and the atmosphere! The mouse controls for the shovel were super finicky and made it generally hard to play but I think it could be pretty fun if expanded upon and the controls made more intuitive. I also liked the music. Was there a way to restart from within the game or do I have to refresh, not sure if I just missed it. Good entry!
@kantieno Thank you! For restarting, just refresh. I was too lazy to make a refresh button hahaha
This is a nice little game with decent gameplay and a really nice atmosphere! I loved the concept of shoveling coal, as nothing like this has yet been explored (as far as I have seen) in this competition. It's refreshing to see something other than "the player must refill their power meters or they die" kinda thing. The web link was a tad laggy, and the gameplay left something to be desired, but overall I really like what you have here - good job!
i like your game, i like the graphics
Agree with people above. The shovel control was a bit chaotic. Still a beautiful game and bug-free. Good job.
This is amazing! At first I was my idea was to do something similar to this but with a train. You nailed it! The graphics are just perfect! You got the 5\*\*\*\*\*
I have Linux and want to play in WEB, but page is out. Delete link or remake it. (((
@sumgamstudio It works for me in web :/
Controls are tricky and html version was a bit slow, but I enjoyed the game. Camera angle change adds this train feel. Also, it's cool that the furnace fades off.
Would be cool to play a post-jam version!
The controls were a bit hard to master, but I loved the graphics, especially the blur effect. The camera could be zoomed out a bit more so the whole level is in view.
@beta "Coal" game!
I liked:
The Graphics: I really got that industrial sort of vibe from your art, and the lighting was very good as well. It also had a very cool style.
The Music: I thought the music was good too. It gave off a tense sort of vibe.
I didn't like:
The Controls: I felt like most of the time I was just flailing my mouse trying to hit the coal. I like the idea of shoveling up coal, but I would have liked to seen better controls. Maybe something like if you moving to the left, the shovel is left and you move your mouse up to throw it into the furnace.
Overall, great entry. Good luck!
There are some good ideas here and I liked the chaos that was created through all the objects bouncing around. As other people have mentioned I found the controls hard to manage - I wonder if there are some other control approaches that could be tried. Well done putting it all together though!
Lovely graphics! I included it in my Ludum Dare 39 compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look :) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DKdZrHdMrvE
Was that music dynamic? Or just by luck the song ended just as I completed the game?
Nice entry!
Graphics were a lot more than what I'd've expected from a game jam (Excuse my excessive use of apostrophes, it's a Texan thing)
@jesus-gonzalez Thank you! You were quite lucky haha
