LD23 — Tiny World

Nix by rustybroomhandle 2012-04-23T09:25:00

There is a Mac client for OpenSLUDGE on that download link, you could try it.

I only flagged it at Windows since that's the easiest way to get it working. A bit weird since I built the whole thing on Linux. :P

Nix by rustybroomhandle 2012-04-23T09:37:00

Windows installer now available: http://screwylightbulb.com/NixInstaller.exe

Nix by rustybroomhandle 2012-04-23T21:42:00

Suese - thanks for the play/rate/review. :) Yeah, definitely some way to go before matching the original scope that was in mind. I would like to make it into a complete and cohesive experience after LD.

Nix by rustybroomhandle 2012-04-24T10:19:00

Hume - I would very much like to, but I don't have a Mac unfortunately. And even though this was all built in Linux, I don't have much experience in putting together distributable software under Linux. I have some idea of the library requirements, but would likely just make a mess of it.

Nix by rustybroomhandle 2012-04-25T12:06:00

gritfish / Monkey Armada - No sound, and I definitely will be making it into a more complete experience, aiming for maybe a 2 to 3 hour time to completion. I aim to keep it a simple "interact with your environment to learn more about it and to advance the story" thing than to have any complex puzzles.

There is also a greater point/message to the story that I obviously did not get around to accomplishing.

Anyhoo, thanks for playing! :)

Nix by rustybroomhandle 2012-04-29T20:14:00

Dax: Yep, I did not have time to add in zbuffers. I'm continuing work on it though, and that's the first thing I have started to add in. Thanks for playing/commenting. :)

Legends of Babanok by Longarmx 2012-04-23T21:50:00

Good first effort. Definitely keep messing with it though, get collision detection figured out and suchlike.

dLeIaFtEh by Cell 2012-04-23T08:21:00

I like this in principle, but would love to see the story-elements fleshed out a bit further.

My Little Planetoid by matthias_zarzecki 2012-04-23T11:26:00

Not bad, except for perhaps the rotation that gets in the way a bit.

esCape by Lucas Tiridath 2012-04-24T13:31:00

Heh, "Internet Explorer 6", that gave me the chuckles. :) Is it ironic that I played this on Linux?

Tiny Catan by sudojess 2012-04-23T08:32:00

Liked it! John Horton Conway would be proud. :P Two things I would probably change though is better colours for the dots. Had a hard time spotting lions through my sleep-depraved-glossy eyes. And also perhaps a slightly slower speed, or a speed (difficulty?) slider.

The Pioneer by Moth 2012-04-26T08:30:00

This made me nostalgic for my ZX Spectrum. I was almost disappointed that there wasn't any colour bleed. :) It's cute/fun though!

LD24 — Evolution

Lepton's Quest by rustybroomhandle 2012-08-28T09:19:00

@porpentine Thanks for the comment. I would like to finish it. Some of the monsters people built are quite cool, including an assortment of stages of mutation for each creature. And the combat system, however basic it was going to be, would really add a little to it. Would also like to add some more narrative elements - you know, a "character evolution".

PS - love your RPS column

Lepton's Quest by rustybroomhandle 2012-08-28T17:08:00

Yeah, would have been even bigger had we managed to put all the intended content in. :) I guess it's the price one pays for 2D static backdrops and animation.

Lepton's Quest by rustybroomhandle 2012-08-28T20:19:00

@BCS For the post-LD version I will look into that. Someone actually got lost in the woods and I suspect it might be to do with the hotspot areas.

PS: Played and rated your game earlier, reminded me of Aquaria - which not a bad thing :)

Lepton's Quest by rustybroomhandle 2012-08-29T16:48:00

Heh, weird thing to say, since any narrator is about as fourth-wall-breaking as it gets. :)

Lepton's Quest by rustybroomhandle 2012-09-01T16:48:00

@angrygeometry - If you're using the ZIP version, there's a broken "rungame.bat" in there that causes shader errors, so if that's how you tried to run it, you could try by clicking "RUN Lepton's Quest".

Adventurers Evolution by Thurig 2012-08-28T15:09:00

Wow, finally managed to get to floor 2, 17 generations in. :) I liked it. It's like Inside a Star-filled Sky meets Desktop Dungeons. The sounds and yellow backdrop made me a bit nostalgic for my ZX Spectrum days.

the Evolution from zx81 by zx81 2012-09-01T14:54:00

Yeaaaargh, this game kicked my butt. Was fun to try though!

Monkey Trial Turnaround by SusanTheCat 2012-08-31T20:46:00

Awesome, nicely done!

Was it you who did the fairy card game for LD23?

Influenza by Miltage 2012-08-28T12:02:00

Hah, this is great. It feels do diabolical. Finding it dang hard though, especially with those managers.

LD25 — You are the Villain

Infect the World by Cyboot 2012-12-19T11:32:00

This was pretty good although I totally suck at it. :)

Bad Guy Boot Camp by rustybroomhandle 2012-12-17T07:25:00

Honestly I would be disappointed if "Fun" went anywhere above n/a or 1 star.

Bad Guy Boot Camp by rustybroomhandle 2012-12-17T17:05:00

@Rex Peppers I think you and I had similar reactions to the theme, but we dealt with it in different ways.

Bad Guy Boot Camp by rustybroomhandle 2012-12-17T17:43:00

Volpes, that's because I am an idiot. I had the wrong case in the file name. I fixed it now.

Bad Guy Boot Camp by rustybroomhandle 2012-12-23T15:39:00

@GeorgeBroussard How is it bad taste? It was not created solely to be controversial, it merely takes one or two aspects of the issue at hand and hilights them.

Yeah it could have been done better, perhaps in a more subtle way, perhaps with a little more "game" added to it, but bad taste? No.

And "too soon" is an invalid argument here. I'm not making light of the matter, just contributing to the discussion.

Bad Guy Boot Camp by rustybroomhandle 2012-12-23T20:04:00

Spiridos: Yeah, I forgot to make it grab the mouse when in windowed mode. And it definitely should not quit by itself. :)

No Heroes Allowed by steamgirl 2013-01-01T12:54:00

I like where this is heading. You intending to finish it?

Goat Hate Jug Band by Jerre 2012-12-18T09:15:00

Woooh! I played it all the way to the end :D That was fun!

Cure 48 by SonnyBone 2012-12-18T09:38:00

Oooh very good. Great graphics and audio, wonderful ending. :)

Zombie Escape by godan 2012-12-17T19:07:00

It's like Lemmings, Zombie edition. :) This could also work if the camera was just free-floating.

CYBERQUEEN by Porpentine 2012-12-18T09:42:00

Insect!!! That was really nicely done. Also I am glad my entry is not the only one built on a foundation of discomfort. :)

Troll Bridge by donmilham 2012-12-17T18:52:00

Fun, love the artwork! I hope you keep tinkering with it and add some variety though.

The Shadow Inside Of Me by SaintHeiser 2012-12-17T15:54:00

Loved the art style. I had some issues with the keys triggering (the 'shield' often wouldn't trigger immediately after jumping, for example) so died a lot and got too frustrated to get to the end - but the game itself is very pretty :)

The Path of Evil by atraxgames 2012-12-20T12:18:00

This was well made. The cops show up a bit suddenly though after you rob the bank. It's like they beamed in from the Enterprise. :) Love the art style.

MidBoss by Eniko 2012-12-23T16:49:00

Awesome. It reminded me a bit of Paradroid, except with roguelike-ish gameplay and a fantasy setting.

The Big Bad Wolf by Alex Shestakov 2012-12-18T12:28:00

The zipping around thing could be due to not using "* Time.deltaTime" when applying increments in Unity, so people with crazy-fast hardware will get a crazy-fast game. Anyway, that aside, I found this entry highly amusing. :)

Goods by ThomasRyder 2012-12-17T21:18:00

Hehe, at last, a true villain!

Stealther - The Great Heist by Dissing 2012-12-17T16:49:00

Cute. The movement was a liiiittle bit slow, I'm impatient and would like to have been able to run a bit faster. The character models are fun :)

Children : Reverse Slender by HackThePanda 2012-12-17T21:24:00

This was cute. I agree that the sound could prolly be toned down a tad though.

HeroDontSavePrincess by pvp 2012-12-17T16:17:00

Got about four boxes down before giving up, hehe. Great concept. :)

Cow Stealer by ParaPup 2012-12-17T17:27:00

Not a bad first game! I suggest you keep working on it. Maybe add a scoring system, or a cow-counter for the UFO, so you have to drop off cows at the mothership, or something like that.

And I love the bug where the cows end up on top of each other. ;)

Villains of Milk and Madness by comrad_gremlin 2012-12-17T19:43:00

Fun little game, and I like the concept. :)

Super Escape by Saspiron 2012-12-17T21:25:00

Ack, crazy mouse movements! Great idea, really difficult to move around :D

Cursed Temple by SirJson 2012-12-17T16:57:00

I like the guy's walking animation!

Snap by fishbrain 2012-12-18T18:24:00

Nicely put together. The sounds/graphics work really well. Incidentally, my own game tackles the same idea, but it's more of a non-game and takes a slightly different viewpoint. And it's blue. :)

Eater by RokB 2012-12-17T21:31:00

Fun little game - I enjoyed playing this ^.^

Another Day at Villain Inc. by ahnimal 2012-12-18T09:41:00

Great style!

Turret Maniac by Wukkopi 2012-12-18T09:19:00

Simple and fun. :)

Becoming by bitbof 2012-12-17T16:09:00

This was nicely done, but I think I'd have preferred mouse control. Nice artwork and sound.

The Villein by Rex Peppers 2012-12-17T15:59:00

Nice interpretation. Bit of an unfortunate theme, this one. You spun it into a fun thing. :)

PhaseJerk by Suds 2012-12-18T09:30:00

Oh man - insanely frustrating but great concept!

Wearhouse by J 2012-12-17T16:11:00

Yup, unforgiving is the word! A good puzzle-platformer :)

Bank Job by jedilemons 2012-12-17T16:39:00

Awesome music, good graphics, fun gameplay. :)

Bret by drizzlybear 2012-12-17T21:16:00

Good stuff! Might do well with a leaderboard for people to compare, uh, poon ranks? >.<

A Villain By A Chance by Madball 2012-12-17T16:56:00

This is quite a complex thing to try and perfect in 48 hours! Could do with a bit more explanation about the various resources though. Overall none too shabby. :)

LD26 — Minimalism

Iceberg Explorer by tinyworlds 2013-05-01T13:36:00

Very nice! I love exploring-focused games, and this one was cool.

... No pun intended.

Super Minimalistic Nuclear Space Potatoes ! by Hatscat 2013-04-30T15:55:00

I thought this game was fun even though its not polished as stated above. I wish the y-axis was inverted (up is down and down is up) but other then that it was fun!

Jetpack Jester by rustybroomhandle 2013-05-01T13:28:00

@sP0CkEr2
From the description "The objective is to eliminate all the toys. Purchase toys and then stack them as high as you can. Stand on the red button to measure the stack height and how much you earn from it. Use your newly earned cash to buy more toys." Controls explained just above.

_M_ by GranaDa 2013-05-01T13:47:00

I have no clue what I'm doing, but damn, it's pretty. Very nicely done - I just don't have a head for puzzles right now :D

Zero Zen by halogenica 2013-05-03T09:46:00

Oh man, I suck at those controls :D Fun game!

Glide by Josh Riley 2013-04-30T16:26:00

this was a very fun and challenging yet relaxing game I like how the windmills rotate and the music over all great game!

In front of me by dannycalleri 2013-05-03T09:50:00

Very moody. Good stuff. :)

Spread by Typedeaf 2013-05-01T12:53:00

Very pretty. Loved the ball going fast, loads o' fun!

Cells by anatolat 2013-05-02T09:14:00

Very cute. Love the pew-pew noises :D

The Quest for Philip's Glass by porglezomp 2013-04-30T15:36:00

this is a very fun game. I liked how the puzzle was designed and the music. there were a few small things that could use fixing but other then that it was great!

Potato Lotion Dilemma! by shotiris 2013-05-01T13:07:00

Alrighty, then...

Skware by tankete 2013-05-03T09:59:00

Fits the theme well. Good job!

Pixel Dominoes by Pinkerator 2013-05-03T09:43:00

Nice and simple - good job!

Moiety by aDFP 2013-05-01T13:12:00

Those are petty dang scary ghost-things. Good job on atmosphere and use of (no) colour. :)

Orbfuscated by CaptainKraft 2013-05-01T12:38:00

Pretty game and great concept. Couldn't quite get the hang of the controls (is there a limited amount of balls? Tab sounds like reload, but didn't seem to always work?) - might be because I'm stupid tired today though ;p Still, good entry! (Pix)

Spellflinger by bigbadwofl 2013-05-02T09:20:00

Lovely lovely game. As MinionStudios said, maybe too many controls for my also feeble mind to keep track of (I'm easily confused :D) but I love the concept.

Chick by alwaysinbeta 2013-04-30T16:12:00

this was a very fun and adorable game. I liked the physics and how the obstacles were eggs. over all it was a very fun game.

LD27 — 10 Seconds

TSHIF by rustybroomhandle 2013-08-26T10:23:00

@Terrabyte - yeah, any faster and he doesn't fall through the holes. I'll fix that at some point.

@lambomang - Currently you have to start again from 1. Pain in the ass I know - I'll eventually add some kind of checkpoint system or level selection.

TSHIF by rustybroomhandle 2013-08-26T10:28:00

@Morgawr "and the sound was weird" - that's me making funny noises into the microphone. My LD compo games haven't had any sound previously so I was determined to get *some* sound in this one even if it was a bit, um, odd. :D

TSHIF by rustybroomhandle 2013-08-28T08:02:00

@motty Just tested it on my laptop (intel chip) running Mint (15 I think) 64 bit and it worked fine - in what way is it not working for you? Can't troubleshoot without more info :)

TSHIF by rustybroomhandle 2013-09-02T07:25:00

alts - yeah I was the first one to mention the checkpointing actually. :P See the original blog text at the top. And funny you should mention the robot turning, I just added that last night. I'm continuing work on it to make it into a complete game. Adding block types, some powerups, ways to manipulate the timer, etc. :)

TenToDead by householdutensils 2013-09-06T12:04:00

As others have said, definite Super Meat Boy vibe. Good work. Difficulty curve a little much for me :D

Red alert by graytest 2013-09-01T12:02:00

I liked it! Those walls can be dang brutal though - good thing they warn in advance when they'll be moving.

7Tulips by pinkmonkeyhead 2013-08-26T08:40:00

Great use of the 10 seconds theme. Music is awesome, and I love the connectivity of the levels. Nice work :)

Amulet in Ten by mtrc 2013-09-01T13:56:00

Pretty cool puzzle game! I was stuck for ages on the "do not get surrounded" level.

Inherity by foumart 2013-08-27T10:03:00

Great idea. Has a nice 'old school' vibe to it and the ten-second battles fits the theme perfectly. Good take on the whole thing. :)

Two minute mayhem by bvanschooten 2013-09-06T12:17:00

Fun fun fun! Really like this. Sounds good, looks good, gameplay is heaps fun. Well done!

METEOR by Red Mike 2013-08-26T09:52:00

Very nice - I see this working well on a mobile platform. Love the graphics and arcade vibe.

Scraith by lambomang 2013-08-26T11:44:00

Loooovely. Great art style, good use of the ten seconds theme in using it to create suspense. Really nice entry!

Friday Simulator by panuo 2013-08-27T10:10:00

Hahahah fun :D I type too quickly for my own good so I'm glad you put the typos and waffling in there and forced me to not rely on muscle memory for typing letter combinations. Really fun entry, well done :D

Bat Massacre by ItsSacraficed 2013-08-26T10:13:00

The bat-death noises remind me of Ultima Online. :D Nice game - some polish to the graphics and menus would make it even more appealing. The bats are just tiny enough to be infuriating :D

Fire, Fire, Burning Bright by Bensonance 2013-08-27T09:52:00

Fun concept. My mouse-rolling to change the resource was a bit slow / unresponsive sometimes which of course didn't work well with the time limit :D The game's a good idea though - it'd be fun to have more issues to tackle as the days progress.

Saloon Shoot Out by alycarter 2013-08-26T09:21:00

I like your take on 'ten seconds'. Fun puzzler. Good entry :)

OHNOES by zedutchgandalf 2013-08-26T10:35:00

Funny. I like the cigar in the boss's mouth :p

Ab Solanum by doonay21 2013-08-26T08:59:00

I suck at this :D Good entry though - I like the concept, I'm just terrible with keyboard controls ;) Loving the music.

Murder On The Dancefloor by CustomPhase 2013-08-26T09:13:00

Awesome lil' game. I like the design of the characters, they remind me a little of Russian dolls. The music is great, gameplay is fun - lovely entry :)

Hallucivian by Hypnohustla 2013-08-26T11:09:00

Well gosh. Lovely artwork, the music and sounds fit perfectly, the gameplay is balanced really well - what's not to like? Great entry :)

Macro by RetroEpic 2013-08-27T09:46:00

Love it. Really like the little guy's animation, especially when he's clinging to walls :D Great gameplay, great sound. ^.^

2-D Alien Invasion by Hackingroelz 2013-09-01T12:36:00

Just have to say: Best running animation ever. :) One critique though is that the sprites could use smaller hit areas.

Magic Power = 10x by Koltiman 2013-09-01T13:18:00

This was pretty fun. I like the main sprite.

10 Second Escapes by DrHahn 2013-09-01T14:18:00

Wow, this gets really crazy as it progresses. Pretty cool though.

Time and Shapes by Woftles 2013-09-01T14:35:00

Very stylish! Also, haha - 1000+ fps here.

Bring The Things by Lizzip 2013-08-26T10:49:00

The level needing the cyan triangle is evil! Fun game idea though :)

Dr. F. R. Eak's Abduction by Jon Fischer 2013-08-26T09:10:00

Fun game, but the link to 'ten seconds' is very tenuous - unless I'm missing something?

GIMP the Tapedeck-Operated Robot by Zuige 2013-08-26T12:05:00

Very cool idea. I do agree though that a full reset is a bit harsh - I think just restarting the level would be fine. Love the art and sound though, and it's a great concept :D

Big City Goat Adventure by Sebby 2013-09-09T08:15:00

Isometric view! If there was an "extra points for iso view" option I'd tick it. :D

10Secs by g_o 2013-08-26T11:19:00

I like what you've decided to do with the ten seconds. Good mood in this game too. :)

10 Squared by Impmaster 2013-08-26T09:02:00

All links are giving a 404. :(

Ten Seconds by motty 2013-08-26T10:43:00

Good god, my brain does not work that fast! Good (if not wicked ;p)entry. Looking forward to seeing you at the next LD.

Walking Thingie by deniska 2013-08-26T10:00:00

Really like the walking mechanism. Good concept for a puzzler. :)

Blobb has enough time by bitowl 2013-08-26T09:38:00

Nice variety in the levels. Love the art style too. :)

Scorpio 10 by javifugitivo 2013-08-26T11:01:00

Great concept, and as others have said, crazy difficult! Good work!

Catabolism Runner by igleyy 2013-09-06T12:07:00

You've got a good structure for a game here. As others have said, some variety in the levels would be a good next move; objects, stuff like that. Good stuff though, Windows build worked perfectly :)

How works on russian post by mnill 2013-08-26T18:19:00

Haha, now I understand why my stuff always gets delivered broken. :)

magnet. by rot13 2013-08-26T09:06:00

Simple, fun. Great stuff. :)

Hellish Copter by Laelien 2013-08-27T09:41:00

By god your narration and sound effects are glorious! ;) Really fun game. Good stuff.

Jeancloud by Pestodesign 2013-08-26T10:07:00

Mashing the jump button! Very addictive - great little game!

10corp by vittorioromeo 2013-08-26T10:26:00

Very nice. Art is great, nicely polished. Can see this being pretty popular. :)

Boom in 10 by okmmjyygv 2013-08-26T09:25:00

Nice implementation of ten seconds. Good concept too. :)

Minty Snak3 by cirpis 2013-08-26T10:37:00

This is cute. The colours you've chosen work very well together. Definitely feels 'old school. Well done :)

Very Fast Postman by Nitrodeus 2013-08-26T10:57:00

Good idea. I ended up always going too fast to be able to see the slimes in time to jump on them - the alternative of slowing down to a crawl to have enough reaction time seems counter-productive. Maybe positioning the rider at the far left of the screen, instead of near the right (where there's not much room between bike and slime) would be better? Liked the concept though. :)

Blood Trail:10 Seconds to Die by SlothSoft 2013-09-06T12:10:00

I like the graphics particularly. A good little game. :)

Houston, we have a problem by levsha128 2013-08-26T09:28:00

Hah, my spaceship goes flying wildly off into the distance, never to be seen again. Interesting idea! :)

Red/Blue by aaronj 2013-09-06T12:13:00

Audio's a bit irritating but the gameplay itself is sound. Can see this being popular with a little polish. ^.^

Tehurn by Choupom 2013-08-26T11:40:00

Interesting seeing an RPG playing out this way. I like the concept. Needs some balancing obviously but for a two day game it's great. Nice work.

Tenth Second by RandomM00 2013-08-26T10:53:00

Yay text adventure! Nice interpretation of 'ten seconds' too :p

ILLUSIOUS by Cell 2013-08-26T09:57:00

Echoing the above - the art is really beautiful. The game packs a punch too. Good stuff!

Countdown Hell by robashton 2013-08-26T11:11:00

"OH NO DEAD!" :D Funny. Love the graphics, the little guys look like PacMan ghosts.

Spider Slaughter by snade 2013-08-26T09:15:00

Nice revenge game for arachnophobes ;) 32 though? Holy hell ;p

Self Destruct by Octopuns 2013-08-26T10:19:00

Love it :D Especially like how they turn into skeletons, hehe. Really great idea for a puzzle game and great use of the 'ten second' theme.

Star Rover by FacticiusVir 2013-08-27T09:59:00

Crashed as soon as I opened it also. I do have XNA 4.0 and .net 4.5 installed. Running on Win 7 64-bit.

10 Steps to Hell by Morgawr 2013-08-26T11:34:00

Love it love it love it. I love roguelikes, love the items you've made and the humour you've applied. Would really like to see this developed to a full polished game - it's the most time I've spent on any of the LD entries so far. I'd buy it fo' sho'. <3

LD30 — Connected Worlds

Nexxuz by rustybroomhandle 2014-08-27T07:51:00

I had fake shadows under things initially, will put them back. :)

Nexxuz by rustybroomhandle 2014-08-30T05:04:00

The intro video that we didn't manage to fit in in time explains what's going on a bit better - your ship hits a time-space anomaly and explodes, scattering its various components across six dimensions. You travel between those dimensions via the portals on the levels to collect your ship's pieces (the power-ups). :)

Nexxuz by rustybroomhandle 2014-08-31T09:43:00

Note that there are 6 levels and 6 end of level bosses. All connected via portals.

Shattered Horizon by 64Mega 2014-08-27T15:01:00

I like what you have done here. Enemy pathfinding seemed a bit wonky, but it generally has a great style to it.

Lassoing Worlds by FrederickK 2014-08-26T05:51:00

Hahah, this is fun :D Love the little faces on the planets, and good interpretation of the theme!

Conversation by arhpositive 2014-08-27T18:48:00

Interesting take on the theme - fun to play, but a little bit difficult when the people float off, as someone else has said - and also it'd be nice to be able to choose which people are conversing.

Chalinkamachoo by commanderstitch 2014-09-08T11:13:00

Best boss ever. :D

World Swapper by Tominator1PL 2014-08-26T10:07:00

Fun little puzzler, and I like your use of the theme :)

Space Transport Tycoon by BMacIntosh 2014-08-27T05:51:00

I'd like to see it continued too - love this kind of game. Good entry!

Space Horror by arzi 2014-08-27T15:26:00

Decent game - pretty heavy concept for the short time period but you did good!

Warlord of Connected Space by Kayelgee 2014-08-26T14:59:00

Interesting. Good take on the theme, simple gameplay - solid entry :)

BOND by ConflictiveLabs 2014-08-28T06:55:00

Lovely art style, and one of the better interpretations of split-screen two worlds I've seen. Nicely done :)

Elite Smuggler by JosephLittle 2014-08-27T06:57:00

Has the potential for being a very fun game, but right now it's a bit difficult - very hard to steer around, ship movement is a bit fast. I like your take on the theme though. :)

Trust Music by Fonserbc 2014-08-26T11:08:00

Love the concept, and the graphics are great - good job, Fonser! :D ~Del

Seminecata by blackcode 2014-08-28T14:32:00

Also liked the art style - it adds to the atmosphere.

Prismatic Worlds by LandoSystems 2014-08-27T05:56:00

Movement felt a bit slow, but good game otherwise!

Sleepy Time by SkyWolf 2014-08-28T08:58:00

Really nice. Love the art style, and good concept for the theme. Well done!

Advesperation by dook 2014-08-27T20:04:00

Very nice! We released a game recently on Steam that also uses Twine along with Unity. I'd link it here, but that would seem like shameless plugging. :P (but umm, yeah, it's called The Maker's Eden)

Iunius by LeonLeon 2014-08-29T06:44:00

Cute little game - I too liked the meter at the top left; nice addition to the genre standard. :)

TechnoTumor by suve 2014-08-28T08:41:00

Good groundwork - shame you ran out of time but it'd be a good game to continue working on and release. :)

Planet on a Leash by Diamonde 2014-08-26T10:48:00

Love the graphics and music - very nice feeling game. :)

Planet Sweeper by pansapiens 2014-08-27T06:32:00

This is awesome! Really fun, love the visuals, very relaxing watching the little anti-gravitons flying off ^.^

Astro Tycoon by goffmog 2014-08-28T11:17:00

Fun, but a bit too fast - a minute or two after putting one ship down the side of my screen was filled with notifications (an option to disable those maybe, or have them stack?). Good entry though!

Delivery by Cheshyr 2014-08-28T06:41:00

Interesting, but I think some of the items in categories need to more strictly adhere to the category type; some of the items could have gone either way.

Godshunter by Mr. Chelnoque 2014-09-07T12:50:00

A bit off-theme, but a great entry anyway. :) And coincidentally the water level in our jam game also has a tentacled sea monster.

Milkyway Tycoon by jackyjjc 2014-08-26T15:14:00

You've put a lot of work into this - love the descriptions of the planets and races. Nicely done.

Cosmic Conga by Almax27 2014-08-26T09:51:00

Haha, yeah I can't beat the AI either. Fun game, love the music!

Green Dragon by 4xisblack 2014-08-28T08:13:00

I like the rolly-bouncy controls, but would have preferred the controls reversed, I think.

Panel Galaxy by Colorvade 2014-08-26T05:47:00

I love this. Really pretty, good audio, great concept (I'm a fan of RPGs generally so I'm a bit biased!) - really nicely done!

Lava Is Last by Crefossus 2014-08-31T05:35:00

Love that voice acting >.< I didn't even notice the level prompt until seeing someone point it out in the comments - that made things a bit easier!

Spacewatch by SleepyStudios 2014-08-31T06:38:00

Took me a while to get the hang of this, but finally managed to finish about four in a row. Nice idea.

Telemetronomic by BasmanovDaniil 2014-08-27T10:09:00

Lovely graphics and atmosphere. The shift key to run feels a little superfluous - there's no penalty for running and obviously you want to get those parts as quickly as possible so you'll just hold it down indefinitely - might as well remove the key and make it auto run, or implement a mechanic that has a cost/reward system for running (maybe the more you run, the faster you switch between worlds?). As someone else mentioned, it does seem to be a bit of a walking simulator. I was expecting that if I walk in one direction in one world it would walk me in the same direction in the other, and when I switched worlds I'd have to note my direction in order to get closer to a part on the *other* world - but that didn't seem to be the case. It would be nice if the worlds were linked more deeply. Otherwise - nice job!

They Came from Beyond by masamunedragon 2014-08-28T06:53:00

A bit difficult - the dim light made enemies difficult to spot until they were right on top of you, and the attacks seemed to sometimes send an enemy bouncing back a long way and sometimes didn't do anything at all.

Down Under by JALgames 2014-08-27T05:42:00

Crashing here too as soon as the installer finishes - Win 7 Ultimate x64.

Connected Worlds Defender by pcmccull 2014-08-28T13:51:00

Cool stuff! I thought it was too easy at first, but then it totally kicked my ass.

Souzou Cliff by PixlWalkr 2014-08-27T19:18:00

Also had the boy disappearing. If it's helpful, running on SRWare Iron browser which is based on Chromium, version 35.0.1900.0.

From what I did play: the pixel art is beautifully atmospheric. The audio is really lovely. The story is nice - the writing's a bit simple, but hey, it's a jam game. I'd like to have had more platforming between the few dialogue scenes at the start, after the first platforming sequence with just the boy - those bits felt a bit tedious just waiting to click through the text.

With some polish and balancing (seeing other people mention some gripes with the platforming collisions), this could be a really lovely game. Please keep working on it and release it fully! ^.^

Disconnecting People by Once Upon a Team 2014-08-26T05:56:00

166,850 >.< Really nice - love the art style and music!

Idilium by darklightteam 2014-08-26T11:02:00

The music and art style are gorgeous. Movement and jumping felt a little slow but on the other hand that does give it a more relaxed gameplay. :)

The Life of a Pixel World by ShivanHunter 2014-08-28T10:13:00

Really fun, and one of the more unique entries I've played so far. Good stuff!

Delta Spaceline by damrem 2014-08-27T15:43:00

Really fun - though it ashamedly took me far too long to realise that I could check the stock at other planets by hovering over them before visiting >.< Great game though!

DistantSpace LD30 by naksrifati 2014-08-28T07:02:00

Cute! I misunderstood the passenger controls and tried dragging them directly onto my module, which ended up with them free-floating in space once I moved away - you should put in a penalty for 'spacing' people like that ;)

DoNotConnect!! by Nnnnneeeedddd 2014-08-27T06:49:00

Fun! It'd be nice if you could start the previous failed level instead of starting from the beginning again, but a good entry!

Space Survival by Dronedary Games 2014-08-26T10:53:00

Difficult but fun. I like your take on the theme - having a solar ecosystem whose balance relies on the stability of all planets is a nice concept. Good game!

Icarus Crisis by rojo 2014-08-27T09:21:00

That was really fun! Great mechanic, the looping music surprisingly wasn't irritating, sounds otherwise were good - I got hooked. Definitely playing this again. Well done!

Gimbal Fighter by kumoi 2014-08-26T05:28:00

Pretty graphics, and fun to fly around :) Good work!

Planetary Devourers by Deozaan 2014-08-26T15:07:00

Fun take on the theme! Worked perfectly for me first time in the Iron browser (chromium). A nice puzzler :)

Zeit by Waterman7 2014-08-27T10:13:00

Nice! Movement feels a tiny bit sluggish, but I like the mechanic and your take on the theme.

Meowrror by thiaguera 2014-08-26T14:53:00

Go Gerald Go! Really cute entry, love the art style :)

A Cold Night by geoisgame 2014-08-31T05:23:00

Cute! I like that the controls are simple, but there's a nice element of strategy to it. A fun game without being too complex. :)

Coplanarity by awsumpwner27 2014-08-27T06:06:00

Lovely style, and I like your interpretation of the theme. Good work!

Outdoor by Warboys 2014-08-28T10:27:00

Bleak game - good concept though!

Multiverse Tourist by hellojed 2014-08-31T15:08:00

Loved the design, but really could have used a sprint button in some parts. :)

State of Mind by Nylonica 2014-08-28T10:06:00

If there were a "best hat" award, this would win it, for sure.

Woopsy Deadsy by 4sap 2014-08-31T17:32:00

Wow, tough tough. This mechanic was used to very good effect in the last Giana Sisters game, and nice to see a whole game built around it. :)

Superconnected World by aDFP 2014-08-26T10:01:00

I'll second that the score is a bit difficult to read. Loved the voxels otherwise. Also not sure how it connects to the theme, but it's a fun game to play nonetheless :)

Bird Simulator - Worlds Connected by Poo by eastes 2014-09-10T15:46:00

Maaaaan, that poop sound effect. Sounds awfully wet. :)

A Game about Making a Game by rlangewi 2014-08-31T05:29:00

Cute! Great take on the theme :D

Ghost Shifter by ikarus 2014-09-08T15:09:00

Not a bad first entry. :) I think some sort of visual feedback when flipping switches would have been good, but in general it worked as a game.

The Old One by JNT 2014-08-27T16:46:00

Echoing the above - amusing concept but really difficult!

GRAVCOMM by doomista 2014-08-26T10:31:00

Fun concept - I like your iteration on the theme. :)

This Little Piggy... by InfectionTeam 2014-08-28T07:34:00

Woah! This is great :D Great art style, great gameplay - I like the progression - and good use of the theme. Fun stuff!

UnderWhelmed by catchthefloaty 2014-08-31T06:46:00

Advancing text seemed a bit janky, but this had a great mood to it, especially aided by the music.

A Hole New World by jjhaggar 2014-08-27T09:32:00

Fun - but as you say, 'NES hard' >.< I love the flipping worlds, and it's got a nice retro feel to it. Well done!

WorldLink by MikeTheWayne 2014-08-26T10:20:00

Really like this concept. I love sim/management games and I'd love to see this continued. :)

Escape the World by bogdanmaier49 2014-08-26T09:57:00

Fun concept. I blew up Earth :(

Sunborn: The tale of connected worlds by Windmill Games 2014-08-26T14:49:00

Enjoyed the silhouetted intro, that was nicely done. Decent gameplay, and I like the way you choose to use the theme. Good stuff :)

Planets by kaa 2014-08-30T15:46:00

Nice game mechanics. Got as far as the one just after the windy planet mission.

Abridged worlds by littlerockplanet 2014-08-28T07:13:00

Fun! Love the bubbles and the space 'ship' (and the font!) :D

Holiday Nightmare by KingBolonzo 2014-08-31T05:38:00

Fun take on the theme, but as someone else pointed out, movement is a little confusing - I expect the up arrow to generally mean 'forwards' in whatever direction my character is facing, not 'up'. :)

OtherWorld by shashwat 2014-08-28T08:45:00

Interesting puzzler - I like how the actions of the three versions fit together. Nicely done. :)

Double Foosball by arazim6 2014-08-27T08:39:00

Woah, this one is difficult. Even though it's "cheating" I think this might be fun too as a local co-op thing.

BLACK HOLE by Very Fat Squirrel 2014-08-26T10:55:00

Love the music. Very simple game for a fast typist though :D

Enter the Multiverse by SgtGorm 2014-08-28T05:33:00

Fun game - I like the inclusion of the 'this is how quickly you died' score. :D

Dark Pixels by Banderi 2014-08-27T15:37:00

I hope you guys get to work on this more and finish it up. It's a great start - love the art style specifically.

Saphenous by AortaStudios 2014-08-26T05:40:00

Really lovely music and I like the graphical style - very nice!

Get it out of here! by concalf 2014-09-08T15:03:00

Fun game. I really dig the main character sprite.

Super Alien Bro by nerd burglars 2014-08-27T15:30:00

I truly suck at this, but the psychedelic powerups were great!

Martian Sock Challenge by jshaffer94247 2014-08-27T05:10:00

Fun - the difficulty curve is a bit steep though! :D

Packet Router by threefinnsjim2 2014-08-26T10:10:00

Man this is difficult >.< Good concept though, I like the idea behind it.

Space Kittens Will Not Save The World by Praron 2014-08-27T05:28:00

Lovely lovely lovely pixels - tough game though :D

Klarb Procreation Rift by ~SquigglySoup~ 2014-08-27T05:08:00

Top marks just for the backstory ;) Fun game!

Ride to the Moon by CrefossusJam 2014-08-28T09:01:00

Fun, but difficult :D

Inspirational Planets by Skywilly 2014-08-27T06:22:00

Music is really lovely. Not entirely sure what I'm doing in the game, but I like how you've connected both 'players', and the concept behind it.

AdventureWorlds by Tritax 2014-08-26T05:23:00

Really fun idea to make a physical game!

BOLYGOK by Chaoslab 2014-08-27T05:21:00

Great writing, well done!

Space Age by john111898 2014-08-31T05:55:00

Really fun. You've crammed a lot in and made a pretty complete game for 48 hours. Very well done!

Gargantuan by TheGreenTie 2014-08-27T05:35:00

Love the art, the lil' blue dude (or dudette!) is cute. I second opinions that it'd be nice if you moved a *little* bit faster though - felt a tiny bit sluggish, especially once the crystals appeared.

Mirrored Forest by IndieST 2014-08-31T14:49:00

Good stuff. Also got stuck on the screen with the stick. Couldn't figure out what the white kitty did either.

Star-crossed lovers by creative630 2014-08-26T10:44:00

Hahaha, fun >.< Good stuff!

Prometheus Unbound by The Evil Cult 2014-08-28T05:52:00

Really pretty. You've mentioned tooltips - that would be a wonderful addition. I love the style of the game and a post-LD edition would be grand ^.^

Invasion of the Squares from the Fifth Dimension by Cactose 2014-08-28T07:20:00

Fun little arcade shooter!

Ink Motes by aeveis 2014-08-27T05:04:00

Really cute - love the animation and art style. Nice entry!

LD33 — You are the Monster

Super Chop by savethejets1 2015-08-26T15:39:00

Enjoyed this. The chopping bar is maybe a bit big and distracting from the great animations though.

Hello Dear Friend by ruthiepee 2015-08-29T20:29:00

Haha. At first, I thought "Spam-sending clicker game, funny" and was not planning to go very far... but then I thought "well ok, maybe just let me make enough to hire one employee" aaaand then the compulsion-loop snagged me. Good job! :)

Humane Harvest by StrideWide 2015-08-29T20:38:00

So, so, so wrong. Loved it. :)

The Most Boring Game Ever by Romixal 2015-09-01T09:00:00

Perfect! :D

Sly Slime - Revenge On All Players by reckhou 2015-08-29T15:11:00

Not bad at all! (And yes Linux build works, even with EXTREME 10800p GRAPHICS)

Also, brofist for the voxel-style graphics.

AlienScare by Eleneas 2015-08-26T15:12:00

Hey, not bad - would have loved if the in-game art style could have matched that of the cut scene though!

Alice & August: A Love Story by nic 2015-08-25T18:57:00

Enjoyed it, but similarly I think I'd have preferred a wider viewing angle and a less mazelike- perhaps more linear layout. Also, pity you have Audio deselected for rating - it's repetitive, but does aid the mood quite well.

Who's the Monster! by TeamCosmitronique 2015-08-29T18:11:00

This is great. Definitely needs more monsters though!

LD36 — Ancient Technology

Blacksmith Simulator by PlanetHoward 2016-08-30T13:16:00

Haha, this was quite amusing. My shop just kept filling up with spare supplies though, so I eventually started playing blacksmith basketball, in which I tried to do all the crafting by throwing the items across the room. :D

Temple of Anubis by awerar 2016-08-30T14:11:00

Pretty decent "gamefeels". I do wish it allowed ways to recharge the wand though (unless I missed something)

The Mighty Stick by mitya1234 2016-09-08T12:54:00

This was amusing. The 'move things by whacking them with a stick' approach was quite novel. Also, amazing how big such a tiny sphere seems when the clock is ticking.

LD38 — A Small World

My Very Own World by Flipsy 2017-05-10T09:28:30Z

Where's the "Charm" rating so I could give it 6 stars out of 5!

Space Balls by Dejvo 2017-05-03T09:32:28Z

Fun concept, but I'd like more movement feedback as mentioned above, and some indication of how far I am from the eye would be great too :D

Orchardstra by CyberStarLight 2017-05-01T19:41:53Z

Very different, and fun! The style is cool, your interpretation of the theme is great - nice work! :D

Candy Cave Quest by ashtheevil 2017-05-05T12:57:23Z

Very nice! I especially like the very reactive character portrait and the twist at the end.

Gillie Goes Global by rustybroomhandle 2017-05-03T11:06:55Z

@blinry Hmmm I had the same problem very sporadically - might be a Unity bug (game was developed on Linux). When I start it in Windowed mode and that seemed to work. I'll add a note.

Gillie Goes Global by rustybroomhandle 2017-05-03T19:43:37Z

@blinry The font is called Action Man - incidentally the same font used in our game on Steam, The Maker's Eden. We meant to replace it with another font, but kinda ran out of time.

World Tours by Mathiouza 2017-05-10T09:28:04Z

Small but cute! Good concept that would be nice made into a longer game.

World of Echoes by multiplexor 2017-05-01T19:36:32Z

Not bad! You've fit a lot of mechanics stuff in which is quite something given the time. I like the art style of the infrastructure you're in, and liked the rainbow effect at the beginning :D I agree that it'd be nice if the text went a bit faster, and maaaaybe if the main character were a little bigger?

River Flow by slowian 2017-05-01T19:44:51Z

Nice implementation of this kind of game. The music is really relaxing :D

rocket ship by Zirrrus 2017-05-10T09:34:23Z

I like the idea of a guideline showing the path the rocket will take ^.^ Good concept for a game though, it's designed well graphically with a nice interface, simple mechanics, nice art style. :)

A small fungal genocide by croze 2017-05-10T13:43:43Z

Took me quite a while before I managed to go a minute without dying, but aside from that, you did quite well with 48 hours.

Grow Little Planet by jin47 2017-05-01T19:54:29Z

This is cute, and yes, relaxing! I love the style of the rocket, like the concept behind the whole game, love how the planet 'levels up' and grows bigger. I think a different background image, maybe something 'softer' with pastel colours, maybe a nebula or aurora kind of thing, might set the rest of it off nicely though :)

Headspace by fueelin 2017-05-03T09:19:57Z

Well that was weird :D Really love the aesthetic, the music is perfect - jarring and creepy. Fun animation style too. I'd love to see this made into a full game!

Something Something by sgstair 2017-05-03T08:57:08Z

Made a few workers and moved them to the mine but they didn't seem to gather resources. Tried moving one to a tree too but it wasn't gathering wood. Otherwise I really like the concept, it could make for a great little contained RTS micro-scenarios. The art style is good, camera controls were, as above, intuitive. :) Would like to see it finished up and released!

Shrink by Roka Josh 2017-05-03T09:09:42Z

Music is excellent, graphics are lovely (aside from the player and powerup, as mentioned :D), but it's a little light on gameplay right now. Awesome first entry for LD though, yay! I'd like to see more challenge in the game - right now I could indefinitely collect bananas and take them to the shrine and not really see the planet shrinking much. Maybe timed levels where the planet shrinks more and more quickly? Definitely some obstacles - maybe monkeys that steal your bananas or colliding with things makes you drop the bananas. But yeah, it's good!

Food Force by Kinjin 2017-05-01T19:55:38Z

Good start on this. Definitely worth a post-jam once-over to smooth out any rough edges, vary up the food types a bit, and perhaps plonk in some upgrades.
