LD23 — Tiny World

The Story of a World by Mårten Jonsson 2012-04-28T11:52:00

Wow! Love this one! I think it's my favourite entry so far!
I got Autumn Come, Tree of Wisdom, Fishermen, Secret Island, Giant Seedlings, Tree Dwellers, The Giant Eagle, and Leaking World. But I couldn't figure out how to get the last two, Return to Nature and Wind Masters. It would've been nice to include some hints inside the game, but doesn't diminish my enjoyment one bit. Love, love, LOVE it!

Save the tiny world! by davidllanos22 2012-04-23T12:49:00

Have you got any advice on how to beat the game?

I use villagers as food for the pigs to lure them into "good" places, but for the part on the right side of the river, I can't seem to find "good" places. >_<

Asylum by Orni 2012-04-25T15:44:00

Madness, total madness! :D

I agree with the others, the intro was a bit too long, but the overall game is intriguing. Audio would have added a lot, but it's still an interesting experience without. Good job!

Miniature Worlds by Markavian 2012-04-25T15:20:00

I was very excited about this game before it was even finished, so I'm glad to have had a chance to play it!

Once I started, it wasn't quite clear what the "point" of the game was, but I think you put together some interesting concepts which have all the makings of a great game.

I liked the alchemy aspect and I liked that your graphics communicated very clearly. The interface was uncluttered and the whole look quite neat. The downside to this is that I was a bit unsure about the "stats" on the planet. Ok, so if I get "steam" it means it's a wet and hot planet. But what does putting people on there do? And why does wood make it wetter and warmer?

I suspect if you had had another 24 hours, you would've been able to give the game a bit more punch in the fun department. I feel like it was *almost* there. So close!

Anyway, good job on your creation, and let me know if you release an updated version of it at any point later.

Astro Gardener by HeyChinaski 2012-04-28T11:25:00

I enjoyed trying it out even though I wasn't very good at it. It has a nice sense of speed. A mini map would have been helpful and I would've liked to be able to turn the aliens off as I found them a bit annoying, but I appreciate that's part of the intended game experience, and for that it's a job well done. ^_^

Tinysasters by Volute 2012-05-11T20:56:00

Very nice, very polished. Lovely art, great mechanics. Thumbs up!

I like resource management games generally, this was right up my street.

I felt like the shrine mana/generate aspect was not quite as intuitive as I'd hoped. (Eg. I turned a desert into a grassland and 4 deserts appeared around the grassland.) I wasn't quite sure what (benefit) it added to the game.

Overall though, a very solid game experience. Great job!

Tiny Jack and The Regular-Size Beanstalk by ricky26 2012-04-23T12:14:00

I also had a problem running this. Not anything about a kernel, but it hangs and crashes before starting. (I'm on Windows 7 64bit).

Tiny Timmy and Big Bill by OmarShehata 2012-05-12T22:56:00

Hey 4urentertainment, you asked for a proper feedback, so here it goes. ^_^

First impression:
Lovely, colourful, intriguing. A big guy and a small guy... funny and unique. Noticed how nice the music was right away.

Experience:
Easy initially... clicking the mouse to control Bill was easy enough. He felt a bit slow, but that happens when you're big. Ok, I can control Timmy with keyboard... oh, he ran off the screen. Why didn't Bill follow him? Oh wait, I have to click with the mouse. Looks like I lost 2 lives there... Oops!

Ok, I think I got it now. Pick him up to reach higher places... oh I better walk back. Ouch, the arm looks mega awkward when I do that. Oh well. Got the 2nd moustache. Right, gotta punch those boxes. Oh... Timmy fell off my hand... Lost my life. Have to restart. Hrm... mildy annoyed.

Ok, restarted. Gonna punch them now, I bet they're hiding a moustache. Oh... I guess not. Well, that was a waste of a life. Ok, punch enemies. Hey, it's a green guy, so I bring the hand down ready to punch... hand with Timmy hits the green thing before I made a fist, lost another heart. Grrr. Music keeps me feeling pretty happy though. And the two guys and the colours are just so nice. I'm progressing. Next level.

Oooh... a kitchen! Still not quite gotten the hang of this keyboard and mouse control. Keep trying to move Bill with A and D. Holding Timmy in hand, I just ignore the enemies, as punching is too hard and I lose lives that way. Jumped over the spider successfully. Oh what's this? I didn't get all the moustaches... ok, gotta go back.

Walking backwards is pretty awkward. Ah, moustache hidden in the drawer. Music is starting to slightly grind on my ears... but that's probably because it's quite late and I should be going to bed soon.

Ok, next level. Basement? An, another spider. I gotta jump over these things. Oh... that didn't work. No matter, try again. Ok. Spider down. Fly stole my health in the meantime. I wonder why I need to jump for the spider. Will it damage Bill? Well, I won't take risks to find out. 2 out of 5 moustaches.

Argh... tried to jump over the spider from hand... lost life? Why? Jumped from shoulder... lost another life and now I've got to start over. Well at least I reload on the same level.

Ok, this time I will just ignore the spider and walk straight through. Looks like it didn't do any damage. Why did I need to jump over it then? 3 Moustaches. 5 Moustaches but I'm down to one life. Open door.

What's this? DIE? (Aggressive flies!?) A boss level with an evil robot in a tophat?! Oh that laugh! How cool... funky music too! Ok... 3 lives, one down by spider 3 (because of flies). Why did you sit down on the shoulder Timmy? Why! Tried to box the spider away since I can't jump over him... seems that spider is only hurting but not moving away. Funny animation though. Better go back. Eeep! Not too far back! SPIDER!

Argh... Timmy sat down on shoulder again and died! So hard. Gonna try again. Oh. I died cause I couldn't get Timmy off that shoulder. WHY YOU SIT ON SHOULDER TIMMY? WHY? Right, last go.

Lost two lives right off the bat on the first spider. Ok... dead again on second spider. Last go for real now. OH YES! Timmy materialised in my hand this time! Yippee! Died on third or fourth spider.

Impression:
Interesting, polished, and very very different. I had a good go and I wish I could've finished it (I'm a bit of a completionist). Probably will come back to it some other time and try again, but damn Timmy and wanting to sit on that shoulder! It was the cause of death about 80% of the time. I think it was fun, but not super duper fun for me... however, considering I find platformers of any kind excessively boring, you managed to grab my attention very very well. That said, I mainly held Timmy in my hand to avoid all obstacles and didn't use the platforms except as a way to get Timmy back onto Bill's hand.

The graphics and music were spot on and the little bits of humour dotted around as well! All in all a great achievement, especially in such a short space of time!

Good job you guys! Thumbs up. I rated it 4/5 overall.

I hope you find this feedback useful. ^_~

Tiny Timmy and Big Bill by OmarShehata 2012-05-14T09:47:00

Congrats on being first place in innovation! Thoroughly deserved. :)

Angstrom by Daniel 2012-04-23T09:55:00

Really liked the game initially, great intro, nice graphics. The physics were a bit iffy at times, but kind of contributed to the weird feed of the world. The characters were fun and I liked the gun effects!

I got stuck on the level with the big red blob though. Reset several times. Tried to jump onto the black platform through using the blob thing, but it didn't work - just got stuck in the middle of the air. After about 15 resets or so I gave up. :(

Still, great job! Very impressive game for such a short amount of time!

Angstrom by Daniel 2012-04-24T14:53:00

@Daniel
Ah... There was a boss? Was the big blob thing the boss? I thought it was a kind of trampoline. >_<

The Tiny Gryphalope by bytegrove 2012-04-23T22:15:00

Beautiful-looking game, really loved the graphics! Together with the audio and "floaty" feel it created a good atmosphere.

I'm afraid I'm terrible at shooters though. I didn't get very far, it was a bit too difficult. My top score was 13 kills... lucky number! :D

Props for your first Ludum Dare! (Same here!) Hope you do a post mortem, I'd be interested in reading it! ^_^

Lemming Apocalypto by 10WonXero10 2012-04-25T21:32:00

I liked the idea and the velocity of the character. I didn't like that the countdown started before I even moved, though... I was reading the instruction message and not running.

One problem I ran into is that on the bit where the evil lemmings were one on top of another, the second one stood on top of my head so I couldn't even jump out of the crowd. I don't know if this was intentional or not? Either way, it was a bit annoying.

The speed is really fun though and I like the idea of having to time my jumps. Good job.

Tiny Garden of Hope by steamgirl 2012-04-23T01:17:00

Argh.. that was supposed to be "planet" not plant. >.<

Tiny Garden of Hope by steamgirl 2012-04-23T22:32:00

Thanks for your comments everyone. ^_^ It's really nice to hear what you made of it, and what you liked and disliked.

@howieV (binarygirl)
Oops! It might be because it's an .exe? I think internet explorer used to automatically block .exe's. XD

Tiny Garden of Hope by steamgirl 2012-04-28T11:31:00

Hint: Have you used the right mouse button? ^_~

I can be more specific if you like.

Tiny Garden of Hope by steamgirl 2012-05-02T18:37:00

Hey, I just wanted to say I really appreciate all the comments! For those of you whose games I haven't left feedback on yet... I will try to have a look at your games as soon as I humanly can, it's just been a mega busy week!

Tiny Garden of Hope by steamgirl 2012-05-11T13:12:00

Eep? It does? How do I get source code? Help! I thought that it was for people who use libraries? I'm so confused...

Tiny Garden of Hope by steamgirl 2012-05-11T13:30:00

I put all of my scripts into a text file... is that good enough? I'm still not 100% sure what source code is? Do I need to ask the people behind GameMaker to give me some?

Microscopia by azurenimbus 2012-04-29T11:37:00

Wow, what a unique creation! (I must say, my fingers did hurt a bit at the end...) I played it to completion and I really enjoyed it, very clever idea! I liked the level progression as well, though the last one was really tough!

My tactic was to move up and down or side to side until I'd spot the piece that exhibited that behaviour. ^_^

Predicament by orangepascal 2012-04-23T11:55:00

Simple, yet brilliant! Really enjoyed it! The great thing is that although I couldn't figure it out each piece of the puzzle straight away, the variables were limited so I could experiment with what I had to make it work!

And so funny as well!

Tiny Worlds by Lidfrid 2012-04-23T13:14:00

Lovely game with a nice polished look. It was pretty difficult to play but a good experience nonetheless. I like that you made it very easy to reset to the point you started from. I didn't play beyond the first set of planets though because I couldn't get enough life particles to make it through and it would probably take me hours to get through it.

Pretty unique creation, and I liked your interpretation of the theme!

Kumiho by Christina Antoinette Neofotistou 2012-05-12T22:18:00

Wow, stunning graphics and good music! The teleport ability is really cool... unfortunately I suck at these kinds of games so I only managed to defeat the first boss. I had fun trying though! Was worth it for those tentacles!

Overall a really polished game. I'm amazed you managed to do it in such a short span of time! With no sleep nonetheless!

Robot in the Garden by Gaeel 2012-04-28T11:13:00

Sweet and simple, but I wish there was more to do. I think you matched the theme well though, it does feel like quite a tiny world. Props for using a robot and a garden. Hehehe. ^_^

The Tiny World of the butterfly by OriginalBigDan 2012-04-28T22:12:00

The start of something interesting, for sure. I liked the animations and the feel of the controls (though a butterfly slowly gliding is a bit weird). I just hopped from flower to flower for a while.

Shame you ran out of time. Good luck with turning it into a full game!

stack::tracer() by nihilocrat 2012-05-11T14:00:00

Really interesting idea. I found the game quite difficult though... wasn't good at telling when to go "down", kept falling beside the edge of the square. I agree with the others though, it could easily be turned into something more and something fascinating and fun!

Super Strict Farmer by Benjamin 2012-05-12T23:12:00

Really enjoyed playing this. Wonderful graphics, good feel.

A minor point was that I couldn't figure out how to build things for ages, because whenever I hovered over the workshop area it highlighted as market because the opponent had already used it.

But once I played my first playthrough, I fully understood how it worked.

My Little Planetoid by matthias_zarzecki 2012-04-23T12:10:00

Very nicely done! I had a lot of fun with this one. Like Ishisoft said - it's fun seeing what comes next!

*spoiler alert*
Although it took me a little while to figure out that I was supposed to build the moon base by clicking on the moon, I kinda liked that I had to chase it. ^_^

Good job! Well done!

Astronautics by Corné Dorrestijn 2012-04-23T12:57:00

Simple, fun, original! Really liked it, though I was pretty terrible at it. Highest score: 106! ^_^

I did find it a little annoying I couldn't skip the intro text (kept pressing spacebar out of habit, which of course launched the ship that wasn't even in view yet, which meant I had to reset again, which made me accidentally press spacebar, and so on). I played the web version. ^_^

Anyway, good job!

Bottlecolonies by tcstyle 2012-04-28T21:24:00

Wow! Seriously fun game! I really enjoyed it. Very interesting concept which is pulled off awesomely. Love the art, the audio, the gameplay itself, and the feel of the game. Good polish, totally playable, and I could see myself enjoying this sort of game again in the future.

Shame it was sometimes hard to place things and if only you had had more than 48 hours because there would be more levels! Couldn't get enough! :)

TinyInspiration by Shigor 2012-04-28T14:23:00

Amusing, colourful, interesting. You managed to do A LOT in a really short amount of time. ^_^ I dressed up and did the cop a favour, subsequently getting Barbie drunk. ^_^ It's nice to know there are other possible endings too (looked at hints page).

Snow Globe Kerfuffle by j_peeba 2012-04-23T11:53:00

Great game, easy to understand and play, but can get quite tricky! (It took me forever to complete level 15.) I like that the last level was really simple, make me feel like a winner. ^_^

Job well done!

Overpopulous by Make A Game 2012-04-28T14:35:00

Kinda cool! I didn't fully get the point of it, but did quite well I think! Score: 223500 and Time: 6:47.

It's full of personality, polished look, great graphics. Well done you guys!

caveman defending his cave from aliens while monoliths drop down from the sky by bms 2012-04-23T22:39:00

Funny and cute! Lovely graphics and good palate. The only thing I wish was different were the sound effects (they grated on my ears a bit after a couple of playthroughs).

Loved the flamethrower and rocket launcher. Who would have thought! The monolith-changing-weapons idea was also pretty original, which really helped make it stand out for me.

Tiny Galaxy by Tifu 2012-04-25T21:43:00

Hahahaha! Too funny! Yay! I got a ricecake back! I really like this game, glad I gave it a go! The bunnies were super cute and I liked the general game mechanics in it. Navigating the inside of planets was a bit tricky, but aside from getting stuck for a while, entirely manageable!

Really enjoyed it, was a very quirky game. You managed to achieve a lot in a very short span of time! The game feels finished!

Tiny Garden by Exorph 2012-04-28T11:12:00

Great stuff! Really liked your concept. I agree with what the other commenters said (naming things, lacking in info), but then you only had 48 hours so...! I enjoyed it and think you've done a good job. Will you develop it further?

Tiny Civilization by Suese 2012-04-24T10:54:00

Very interesting experience, if a bit too slow. (Not sure if it's a problem on my side, but the people were walking at a rate of about 1 frame per second.) It reminded me a bit of Virtual Villagers, only without the story and puzzle elements. (For the record, I really like Virtual Villagers so it's a good thing!)

I like that the world is as big or tiny as your window, though I agree with oddgoo that it still could feel like a spacious world when the browser is on full-screen.

The art style adds a lot to the mood of the game, as does the music. I felt it was slightly ominous... like doom was inevitably going to come upon my tiny civilization.

Unfortunately I didn't get very far into it. On my first run through, I killed a baby when I got both parents to leave the home, which made me a bit upset so I left it until the next day. Now I'm successfully raising children (yay!)! But the parents seem to be dying of bad health. Also, people drown... I wonder if I managed to get their swimming skill up whether they'd be able to get some goodies from the water?

Unfortunately my patience was not strong enough to keep me playing until I found all the hidden features. However, I like what you've done and I think with a bit of tweaking it could easily develop into a very addictive game!

Interstellar Planet-Ship Adventures: The Search for... $@#% Aliens!!!!!! by mattchu 2012-04-23T10:13:00

It looks really interesting but I'm having a hard time getting it to work. The .exe was corrupted, so I ran the gmk file instead. (Yay for fellow Game Maker creators!)

I had an error with the captain's wheel (7), something about a variable not existing. (Mind you, the game starts with what looks like a captain's wheel in the middle, perhaps related?)

When I tried to select units it kept moving the previous unit towards the one I tried to select instead.

The annoying thing is that after reading the howto file you included, it sounds like a really fun game! I'll keep poking at it today, hopefully I'll figure out how to make it work. ^_^

Interstellar Planet-Ship Adventures: The Search for... $@#% Aliens!!!!!! by mattchu 2012-04-23T11:51:00

I figured out how to select different units! I have to deselect them first! ^_^

Ran into another error - something about mating. (My villager who was near the brothel walked into the captain? Not sure what caused it.) I'm pretty sure now that the steering wheel is created at the start of the game, which might explain the error for #7. Is that meant to happen?

Slime Mold by howieV (binarygirl) 2012-04-28T22:20:00

Beautiful music and creepy mood, the flickering and other lighting effects really added to that too! I wasn't too sure about the gameplay... didn't feel like I was making much of an impression on the molds. ^_^

Still, it's an interesting experience.

LD25 — You are the Villain

No Heroes Allowed by steamgirl 2012-12-17T23:37:00

Haha - thanks Matthias! :) I wanted to do more with it but 48 hours just isn't enough. ;)

Unsave the Princess by karlin 2012-12-18T00:02:00

I can't seem to figure out the controls. If I select 1,2, or 3 it doesn't seem to actually use the spells? Other than that - lovely graphics. Nice touches that make it feel more alive.

The World is Mine! by matthias_zarzecki 2012-12-17T23:57:00

Really liked this game! Great premise, full of humour, nice touches. I'm amazed you managed to get all this done in such a short amount of time. It would be interesting to find out more about what you had planned for this game as there isn't much challenge to it (yet). Will you be making this into a full game at some point?

"I Never COULD Get The Hang Of Thursdays..." by Zed 2012-12-20T17:40:00

It was pretty fun - and certainly very funny! But the turnip challenge made me feel dizzy/sick and hurt my eyes (not sure if it was the flashing or the tension building up). That sort of ruined the fun for me.

Other than that - really well done! I'm impressed how much you managed to achieve in such a short amount of time!

Under the Bed by Logun 2013-01-07T17:34:00

Hahaha! Loved this! It's simple, fun, great graphics. I love the big monster claws and the way it feels. Unqiue, quirky, full of personality. Really enjoyed it.

LD28 — You Only Get One

The Social Avarice of an Adult Mayfly by Several 2013-12-21T17:18:00

I liked the concept more than the actual execution. My favourite part was planning beforehand, I got very confused about what I was actually supposed to do at the party. Also, quite a few times the guests liked teetotallers and drunks but I was never quite sure how much I had to drink and whether I was drinking at all (until alcohol did me in). I also noticed there's a countdown in the planning stage which seems to be in a slightly weird place?

I agree with what others have said, more feedback during the real-time game as code-11 suggested would be great, and I agree with davisan, it has the potential to be really hilarious with a bit of dialogue. :)

Overall though, good job! Hope you carry on with this game and polish it up!

One Breath by steamgirl 2013-12-20T17:06:00

Thanks for your comments!!!

@OhFiddleDiddle - I'll try to add a better tutorial at a later point (but clearly sign-post it as outside the jam). :)

One Breath by steamgirl 2013-12-21T17:46:00

@Nelien - Thanks, means a lot to hear it! Originally I planned for other things to be down in the deep, such jellyfish which you would have to avoid touching, to mix up the gameplay. Perhaps I'll do a post-compo full-feature, since it sounds like you think it has potential. ^_^

@hamster - Yeah the tutorial is pretty dire- sorry! I added it in in the last hour before submission. Did you try to swim up quickly before you breath ran out? Right-click in the top-half of the screen to swim up, that should avoid the mermaids spiriting you away!

Castle Uno by SecondDimension 2013-12-28T12:51:00

I'm not a big fan of platformers, but this game is really well executed. It's quite cerebral and I'm amazed by the level of polish, with little details like the dude looking over his shoulder! Good use of the theme too! Sadly it's really not my type of game and my wrist hurt quite quickly (on a keyboard), but while it wasn't much fun for me, I can appreciate the game probably pushes all the right buttons for people who like supermeatboy and similar. Good job well done! :)

Doubt by rxi 2014-01-06T22:12:00

Beautiful art, a game full of atmosphere. The puzzles felt mind-bendy, thoughtful. I loved the take on the theme with the cat. Wow, just wow. If you don't get into the top 3 games, I'd be surprised.

Pillage Rush by Jgpicatoste 2013-12-28T15:05:00

Amusing and great graphics! Wish I could drop the girls though. Did it miss instructions? It took a little while for me to figure out to use AWD for controls...

You Set Us Up The Bomb by scriptorum 2014-01-04T12:09:00

Loved the theme song! Too bad the explosion sound effect was choppy - I found the explosions unsatisfying as a result. The concept is quite original though and a good take on the theme! Will you be doing a post-compo version?

One shot by Jod 2014-01-04T12:36:00

Unfortunately anything I choose (knife, hacking tools, cardboard box) gives me an exception error. game/location.rpy renpy/common/000statements.rpy error reading PNG file. :(

Using the Windows version.

Silkworm Princess by cinnamonmelonpig 2013-12-20T14:40:00

I liked it! The music got repetitive a bit too quickly for my taste but other than that a solid entry. I disagree with poingferret, I don't think it needed more of a tutorial than what you already had. I was a little confused about the shield not travelling with the silkworm the first couple of times it happened, but I prefer figuring that out for myself over being told how it works. Good job! ;)

Dive by ismyhc 2013-12-28T15:33:00

Hehe, we had similar ideas! I participated in the #nokill subtheme so no killing in mine. ;)

Simple but effective - like the animation a lot. Wish I could restart into the game quicker after running out of breath though. On the upside the intro is really nicely done. Good job!

PS. Sound didn't work for me for some reason so I've left that unrated.

YOGO - The Detective Story by psc1997 2013-12-24T13:27:00

Really enjoyed it. I actually thought your English was perfectly comprehensible, didn't struggle to understand the story at all. The ending was a little disappointing, as I felt the reason for why I should have known who was the murderer wasn't strong enough. I would probably have said the same thing even if I was innocent. But I'm genuinely impressed with what you managed to achieve in such a short time - I've used Ren'py before and I'm not sure I could do the same!

I hope you make more of these in your own time (maybe with an English editor buddy) - I'd play them! :)

Food Survival by van noctar 2013-12-20T17:52:00

Haha, funny! Like the interpretation of the theme, only one packet of fries! The scrolling was pretty unique as well, I haven't seen that in many games. Good job.

The Last Realm by aviktorov 2013-12-21T17:04:00

Really enjoyable! I agree with code-11, would be nice to see what my budget is for purchasing. Quite a few times I purchased some frigates and then had no money left to spend on other ships. :( You should defo do a post-compo version though - it was fun to play. :)

Uno Terra by Diptoman 2013-12-28T15:48:00

My favourite game so far! Amazingly fun to play, great music, great everything. Loved it!

Creator Story Saga Tycoon by Bruno Massa 2014-01-05T16:07:00

Wish there was a way to mute the sound so I can have it running in the background. Other than that, great game! I've recently gotten into idle games so this is right up my street. Totally addicted. Some of the humour was maybe a bit too self-referential for my taste - eg some guy called Bruno (presumably the creator) and girlfriend not liking the game, but that's really minor. Overall great entry!

Shooting Atoms For Peace by Denis Chakarov 2013-12-28T12:38:00

Fun and addictive puzzle! The audio didn't work for me for some reason (so I haven't rated it) but that didn't impact my enjoyment at all. A solid LD entry, fun to play and original! Well done!

Process Journey by Lissar 2014-01-05T18:27:00

Really enjoyed it! Beautiful game, full of atmosphere! Unfortunately I had to cheat to get the good ending. I kept thinking I must have missed something in the scene because when I asked Sehya for advice she kept telling me to keep looking. Maybe after you have examined the scene fully there could be a different response. ;)

Crew: A Futuristic Detective Game by metkis 2013-12-20T17:26:00

Love the idea I hope you'll work on it more. The graphics are great!

I would have liked to be able to ask each crew member some questions - so if Ryan says Toko was in the nursery, I'd like to be able to ask Toko where she was to cross check the evidence. :)

Yogo's Adventure by OhFiddleDiddle 2013-12-21T16:48:00

Hahaha, I totally fell for it on level 2! :) Wish the game had sound though... Still really well done for such a short time!!!

Nature's Howl by louis.denizet 2014-01-04T13:05:00

Wow, what a gorgeous game! Beautiful visuals, music, and gameplay. Gave it a 5 in most categories. Blown away!

If I had to nitpick, it would be that the stage between the rabbit and the ferret felt a bit too long. But that's nitpicking.

Nice one on your first entry! And in C++ nonetheless! I got to 17, but I got bored at that point so stopped. It's actually surprisingly fun though - the feedback really works. Also got a bit of an adrenaline rush from it. :D

Would have been nice if there were two dots after level 10, or maybe something else to vary the game up a bit. Anyway, good job!

Haha, the bit where you get presented 3 chess tables made me laugh. For once I was making my own choices. ;)

I love the style of this and your way of storytelling - even if the main character seems a bit of a downer. Hope you continue with this - I'd totally play a more complete version at a later date!

Mama is Sick by JaymeeMak 2013-12-29T17:35:00

Very touching game, really enjoyed playing it! What a great take on the theme. Boy am I grateful to that family that kept sending $1 a day, could not have survived without it. The storytelling was also very cute and added a lot of character to the game.

PS. I haven't rated the audio (for some reason it didn't play for me).

Over the last week this game has come up in conversation with almost everyone I've hung out with. Left a really strong impact.

Wow, what an amazing entry! Looks gorgeous, very atmospheric! However it was a bit too difficult to play for my taste - would have been nice to have a "call back" mechanism for the light. I tried firing it down and behind me to avoid traps but still ended up having to retry - gave up after about 6 attempts. Nonetheless, the most impressive LD entry I have seen so far. Spectacularly beautiful.

You only get one happy little life by lorniebear 2013-12-28T12:29:00

Really happy, made me smile the whole way through. I loved the "weehee". The physics felt good - kudos for achieving that! I didn't manage to make it all the way to the end, but that's okay, because I got a smile anyway. ;) PS. Loved the surprise button!

One Dish by team_kin 2014-01-04T12:46:00

I really like the idea of this game, but actually playing it wasn't that much fun for me. It wasn't quite clear what I was supposed to do. Take an average of all the customers scores? Avoid any flavours that people completely disliked? Try and maximise flavour in the hopes of ticking everyone's favourite flavour box? Looking at, and memorising, what all 10 customers wanted felt like a hassle. Maybe if there had been 1 customer to start with and the game ramped up to 2, 3, 4, 5, or something like that?

Still, well done on finishing the game! I really liked the concept and would play a post-jam version if you decide to make one. :)

I'm getting a 502 server error when I go to the link. :(

One Arrow by 7elephants 2013-12-21T18:11:00

Wow, what a great entry! Blown away! :) The graphics look very nice, especially with the added day-night cycle. I loved the idea of only one arrow and you have to go pick it up, though at the start I didn't get it - until the very helpful hint appeared. Nice touch. ;)

Good job well done!

The Story of Your Life by MatrixBai 2013-12-20T14:57:00

Good attempt and a good idea, but it was a bit boring to play, (you probably had loads more stuff you wanted to put in). It's like a really trimmed down version of Kudos, a game which I've enjoyed a lot in the past. Good job and getting it finished! :)

Cardocalypse by Shigor 2013-12-21T17:56:00

Really funny audio and I really like the concept. I felt the game went on for a bit too long though and it felt more random than strategic. Perhaps if new cards didn't spontaneously turn up, but empty spaces would remain behind? That way you could click on the deck to deal a new card if you get stuck in your journey to a one-card-only-board and have more of a chance to complete the game. :)

Pretty Creatures by NiallM 2013-12-21T17:37:00

Aww, it's a shame it can only be played with 4 people. It looks so pretty! Kudos for trying something completely different though - if I get a chance to play it with friends I will! :)

One Cigarette by Suese 2013-12-22T16:12:00

Very cool. The right kind of oppressive atmosphere, plenty of humour. I kept accidentally firing my one bullet... oops! Highly amusing. ^_^;

Princess Kingdom by ncannasse 2013-12-20T17:43:00

Great entry! I'm amazed you managed to get ALL THAT done in such a short amount of time! Good job! Was candybox an inspiration? It reminds me a bit of that but with graphics. I liked the town building more than the jumpy princess bit, but then I'm not a massive fan of platformers generally. Anyway, good job well done! :)
