LD21 — Escape

Abigail's Descent by Cosmologicon 2011-08-28T15:49:00

The game is fun, a platform game with a twist, but I confess if it were not for the checkpoints I would have lost my interest pretty soon, sometimes the running and jump felt a bit awkward.
Loved the idea of self-rescuing princess while the knight in shiny armor stood useless at the base of the tower :).
Anyways, great job for 48h, the implementation of the tower in python must have been tricky :P!

Endless Castle by Blackduck 2011-09-06T18:19:00

Despite reading the warning about not get stuck in a wall, and my effort trying to avoid it, it was exactly what happened the first time I played :).
I liked the circular effect of the platforms but the game failed in delivering an experience as it gave no context, no purpose. It seemed to me that it was just a walk, not an escape.

Escaparazzi by Felipe Budinich 2011-08-31T22:55:00

Although the title made me skeptical, I sure had fun with this submission! An interesting take on snake that surprisingly works well.
Regarding gameplay, controls were basic, yet functional and did their job really well. Same can be said to graphics and audio (gawd, that soundtrack really got into my nerves, in a good way!). However, all things together with this interesting approach to old school snake made a really nice cake to enjoy!

To Hell And Back by Kayamon 2011-09-11T21:39:00

Pretty awesome that someone would find time to make a point and click adventure game in 48 hours. Though I really missed being able to skip text with a mouse click...

Avalanche by jrrt 2011-08-24T17:56:00

The best word to describe the music is groovy without any doubts =D. Minimalist graphics but fun nonetheless!!

Abandoodle by OddOneOut 2011-09-11T21:45:00

Nice controls and graphics.

Huescape by mtthwcmpbll 2011-08-28T21:25:00

Cool idea, truly creative, but it could have used a bit more polish.

Dot Matrix by AJMilsom 2011-08-31T23:12:00

Beep Beep! Beep! Damn that sound was annoying! Only scratch on glass you got there, despite this small jitter, the game was solid, pretty fun and visually appealing! Rock on mate!

BlackWhiteRed by Nihilate 2011-08-30T11:09:00

A nice little twist on the runned down runner game. Shame that I found myself clicking and dragging the window when shooting. Also, do the legged creatures have any gameplay impact?

Mountain above the clouds by trialbyfun 2011-08-31T10:51:00

Looks great. Simple gameplay and non-existent learning curve. Sound would add a lot more personality to the art style.

Mountain above the clouds by trialbyfun 2011-08-31T10:53:00

Also, I loved finding the controls by myself. Looked around the first area, clicked and saw the seed's leaves move, then I kept the mouse button pressed and voilá, it jumps out of the ground.

/ ESCAPE \ by schonstal 2011-08-31T10:45:00

Great game! Fast paced and fun. The sliding down and speed up mechanics aren't very obvious at first, but since dying is part of the process, the players will eventually get there. Congrats!

Go, Fish! by zamza 2011-08-31T23:23:00

The colour phasing mechanic enhanced an already solid concept of a game without adding any frustrating layer of complexity! Easy to pick on, and fun to play! Kudos for this entry!

the dream forest by mes 2011-09-11T22:02:00

Great look and atmosphere. I just wish you moved a bit faster...

A Robot Escape by TravisTX 2011-08-31T23:32:00

This was a new concept for me! Was a bit confused first, but as soon as I grasped it, it was a fun challenge! My only complaing would be having to count squares to exactly match the patterns I desired (perhaps alternating between gray and white regurarly would solve this issue?). The sound was there and did it's job. I say stick to Silverlight! =D

Escape from Monster City by KevinWorkman 2011-08-31T23:05:00

Totally reminded me of the movie "I am Legend". Only thing lacking was the dog! My only complaint goes regarding the lack of some visual feedback on how close could the avatar approach a monster. Despite that, fun has been had, and we trully loved the top down 3D building effect!

Underland by CJ 2011-08-31T23:19:00

Simple, yet fun take on a mashup of some old school gaming traits. The top right corner view reminded me of the old 1st person RPGs, while the main view, those really fustrating puzzle cave games from Ms-DOS =P. Still this was a fun challenge which was easily grasped! Only downside is the music, which can get really repetitive and moody after some minutes of play.

Eggscape by Make A Game 2011-08-23T21:15:00

Thanks for the nice comments. :)

@bmfs:
You mean if you hit the character with a piece? Yeah, that will probably change in the future.

@refrag:
We should have posted the How To Play text here too before.

Eggscape by Make A Game 2011-08-25T13:23:00

@hamburger:
Yeah, we didn't have time to include multiple game modes and treasures.

Treasures would change the way you play it, if you were playing for the best score, you'd have to place the pieces in order to be at the treasure height and catch it.

Besides that, some of stuff isn't working like we planned to. Still, we're glad the fun factor is still present. :)

Eggscape by Make A Game 2011-08-25T13:25:00

Also, there's a point multiplier for each block climbed in succession, but the Score feedback is missing.

Goat Milk by stoz 2011-08-24T16:09:00

I really loved this game! It has humor and very polished graphics.
The combination of the sound effects, the background music and the fact that our playable character is an adorable goat who cries when you lose made my day.

The Escape of the White Square by Geroro 2011-08-31T23:00:00

Remember that old TV show named "Takeshi's Castle"? Especially that landslide game they had. As soon as I popped your entry it was kinda nostalgia bomb! Despite all the simple approach, I had fun, and when you have fun means that something worked in the end! Congratulations on your first Ludum Dare!

BATHOS by johanp 2011-09-01T23:32:00

A true riddle ^-^!
Despite taking a long time to figure out the solution, I had fun trying to figure out the correct key.
The graphics and the audio blended well in the game giving it a complex and rich environment and made me thought that there was in fact a more complicated solution :P. Well done.

LD22 — Alone

Chromboid by pekuja 2011-12-31T19:03:00

Awesome ambience, crisp graphics and atmospheric tune!

The Last Adventurer by Cosmologicon 2012-01-05T04:42:00

All the animations feel very smooth and I played in Firefox! There is the cute appeal, fitting music. If I had to describe this game in one word it would be cheerful!
The game itself is very complete for a 48hour job, my only complaint was that the theme seemed a little forced. Anyways good job! This game makes me really look forward to play your future entries in LD!

Friendship Snake by XMunkki 2011-12-28T15:18:00

This is very fun and the gameplay feels very smooth! I even bookmarked your page for whenever I crave a snake game!

Snow by bentosmile 2012-01-08T00:08:00

I played it for a bit but didn't fell like continuing after reaching the third set of doors. Unfortunately, the lack of sound has a negative impact in your game. You should also have added a command to go back to the previous choices. The text adventure-esque options where concise and the art style worked very well. Just a shame that the game was explicit on what to do, watering down the puzzle aspect of it. Pretty good entry, though the "alone" theme could have been developed more.

Abandoned by Noel Berry 2012-01-09T01:20:00

Another game that I played before the voting was enabled and completely forgot to return to... I really loved this game, though the difficulty jump to the last room was to steep.
I'm commenting in regards to the version you initially submitted, because I noticed that you added more levels after the submission window.

Accident by AbelToy 2012-01-09T01:46:00

Right when I jumped on top of the dead guy and he farted I though "there goes all the drama". But the puzzles are quite clever and I really want to see more of it!

On a side note, I'd say you could lose the fact that he's dead and make it like he ate some poison mushrooms, so you both are rushing to get to the surface. The game seems more lighthearted than jumping on a corpse. And having your partner rolling on the ground, complaining about his stomach might add some comedy, like hearing him from afar.

A Stitch in Time by ChainedLupine 2011-12-27T22:29:00

Cool game, but it has nothing to do with the theme.

Leave Me Alone by sambalistic 2011-12-31T16:46:00

Only tried it by myself, but it looks like a cool idea and I really like the background's color changing.

Alone in the Scary Darkness with Zombies by Codexus 2011-12-31T19:05:00

You guys are really ambitious!

0 ALONE by Neonlare 2011-12-26T16:29:00

Nice piece of storytelling, but at a certain point the text was too small to read. And I think the wind didn't play for me.

Inkompleet Shootiefing by bluescrn 2011-12-31T15:38:00

Cool tech, I'd love to see this carried on after the competition.

Cirque du Seul by ian_snyder 2012-01-03T22:10:00

The art is stunning for a 15 hour work =P!
Right now, I'm in love with this Polar Bear (screw you Cats & Kittens & Fury Things that Meow and purr!)! Does he have a name?
Aside from the visual appealing experience I felt the lack of a more active gameplay experience, as it was mentioned before. Perhaps a HUD and a counter for the time spent in the swimming between icebergs would be enough! But as you say, time won't stretch and there are other priorities!
Congratulations.

Ydunn by Randomasta 2012-01-08T04:14:00

Nice art style and bittersweet story. The apple was nonsense though. You should also have stated that there's no actual combat in the game, just that you need to keep X pressed to shield up and kill the enemies. Shame it's terribly short.

TownAlone[DISTRICT 214] by nuprahtor 2011-12-27T23:31:00

What I played was interesting, but I'm not sure if I finished it or not.

[Greeble] by McFunkypants 2012-01-06T00:09:00

Oh man, was I confused when I started playing this. :D
At first I though the guys inside the pods were pursuing me and I'd get a game over if touched. The I didn't realize at first that the keys were for the pods and not doors that I wasn't finding. Controls were fine, and the pathfinding was great, but there were some weird spots where I couldn't move due to collision troubles. The scanline effect is quite good.

Don't Make Eye Contact by Sebby 2011-12-31T17:44:00

Cool idea! We also worked around this concept for a bit, then ended up making a different game.

10,000 Space Leagues from Delta Station by Dan C 2011-12-27T21:59:00

Cool intro, but this is really hard to play (even if I'm using very light key presses)

Loot Alone by karnakgames 2012-01-03T22:34:00

Is it just me or the rocket cat doesn't have ears!
It's very simple but alas, procrastination is a bitch :P. Congratulations on your first LD =).

Abandon by Acheron 2012-01-08T20:03:00

Nice simple scavenger hunt game. And I found the ending quite funny. :)

Hubris by krangGAMES 2011-12-31T18:36:00

Very cool background art, but the main character doesn't really stand out. I lost him from time to time. Interesting soundtrack reminded me of Canabalt.

Out by kosinus 2012-01-08T03:48:00

The text was too big and impossible to read in Chrome. Where did the theme fit in?

And then, alone at Epsilon-1 by eld 2012-01-08T16:04:00

Pretty cool. My problem with the hacking minigame wasn't its randomness, it should have used a better color that contrasted with the whole environment. You should at least used a looping atmospheric music.

The Lonely Knight - Dark Adventure by Slapunas 2011-12-27T23:26:00

Interesting graphics.

Barriers by scottwashi 2011-12-31T18:52:00

Cool idea, awkward controls on placing the walls.

Step Off by intmain 2011-12-21T10:53:00

Loved this game. The movement feels great, the text is funny and the gameplay mechanics are pretty simple. My only problems with it is the lack of a catchy tune and the feeling that the arrow is still moving even after pressing the throw button. Congrats!

Aloneasaurus Rex by jovoc 2012-01-10T01:28:00

From the video it looks interesting, but also hard to play. However, I don't own a ipod. :(

A Life Apart by MagnesiumNinja 2012-01-08T02:37:00

That was a nice piece of story telling, but the torch post in the first screen was a dick move. Good show.

3 Missing, 4am by Sophie Houlden 2012-01-08T16:25:00

Hello Alan Wake. :)
The game played fine, and just like Alan Wake, the lamp posts were a good use of waypoints, but the game was too dark on my screen, so I kept getting lost and bumping into walls. I wasn't able to find the two other batteries.
A shame really, I was enjoying the game.

5 DAYS by matthias_zarzecki 2012-01-08T04:38:00

Nice and moody, but I was expecting more to happen, starting at least from the 3rd day. Shame it ended up being repetitive. A crossair would be welcome too. Is there only one win path? Is there a way to open the locked air lock? Great work nevertheless.

Sinkhole by Shaun Inman 2012-01-08T04:06:00

I liked this game a lot, though some sound would give it a great atmosphere. Collisions were a bit off and I gave up after doing about 10 levels in a row. I stock up on batteries and matches, so I was going to survive for long. I get the feeling that an "infinite mode" might not be the way this game is meant to be played.

Snowfall by Guns_Are_Toys 2012-01-07T23:44:00

Can't play it. Sorry.

"Could not find the main class: Snowfall. Program will exit."

Arzea by arkeus 2012-01-03T22:22:00

The game is very polished, fun. Its major pitfall is the theme, that is not very evident, but I enjoyed it nevertheless. Great job ^-^! Keep making games like this one!

The Lonely Robot by chipcaramel 2011-12-31T17:34:00

I am so confused from this, but good on you to have tried something different!

Alone Together by cambrian_era 2012-01-09T00:59:00

This was one of the first games I tried and I can't believe I didn't rate it until now! I really liked it and found it quite clever. There isn't much challenge though.

sQared by FredericRP 2011-12-31T20:22:00

This was pretty ambitious!

Bouncy Balls by Dmurph 2012-01-03T15:32:00

You're right, everyone loves physics ^-^!

I had a good time playing this game and then fooling around with the editor, which I think adds a lot value to the game. However I agree with summaky, the relation to the theme is very faint. Nevertheless you did a very good job with the carefull level design, I bet you had lots of fun playing your own game!
I also found the music catchy without being annoying.

Farrokh by DoktorAce 2012-01-06T00:00:00

The graphics made me remember the old days of voxels. It's short and easy to learn, but I'm bummed that it's another runner.

Nyan Nyan Stack by dock 2011-12-31T17:31:00

I eventually got stuck. It's a lot more polished than I expect out of a Jam game. Don't care much for the kittens theme though. :)

Dr. Autofober's Experiment by tcstyle 2012-01-02T23:12:00

"So many ideas so little time." I can totaly relate to that =D, but nevertheless, despite the acelerated pace and the lack of sound, the whole concept behind this entry is very original and I enjoyed the game.

At this pace, this game is too difficult for me. I won the second time I tried but it was pure luck =), (reactive agents for the win).
Also I think I found a bug, at least in the windows version, I could place objects outside the boundries (I kept doing that replay after replay by mistake :( ).

Things you do alone... by jeffz 2011-12-27T20:26:00

I played this game 3 times, always reloading the webpage, because I didn't get it. Is the final score always the same?

Although the title points to a good idea for an "Alone" game, I didn't feel a purpose while playing it! Maybe this isn't my piece of cake.
Anyway I liked the fact that there is sound and the notepad instruction board. =)

Gravity Cat Thing by supermaximo93 2011-12-27T22:56:00

This game is hard and it looks good! I wonder how many games in this competition feature cats.

/follow by 01101101 2011-12-26T15:53:00

Art and sound match each other pretty well. Puzzles were a bit too easy since there weren't too many interactions on each scenario. Runner sections were also simple but were a good change of pace. Also, it's nice to see the SuperBrothers pixelart style so colorful. Overall, it's a great 72h game. :)

TransDimensional Moon Rift by Shigor 2011-12-24T19:10:00

"I want to be alone... with my kitties!"
The sounds are crazy. The art is the product of a mad man ;). I bet that you had loads of fun making this game!
To make it even more crazy I would use some trippin' rainbow colours, ^^ but I remember playing your "Escape" game so I feel it's a matter of personal style!
Congratulations!

EpiCat by Jacic 2011-12-27T21:26:00

Cat meets space impact!
It's realy simple, but it's a 48h entry and it's playable, so in my opinion this is ok! =) I noticed that you got a nice journal!
Good job

A Lonely Moon by TyrusPeace 2012-01-08T16:37:00

Pretty great mechanic. The use of camera zoom was really well done too. And after I got teleported back to the start I just jump-dash over the left wall and fell forever. :D

The Invention of Colour by bach 2011-12-27T20:42:00

The art, the sound, the whole atmosphere is gorgeous! I really enjoyed the poetic stroll in a quest to find the shimmering pixels, despite the lack of a more active gameplay experience.
Today I learnt that Bach is also an accomplished pixel artist! :P
Congratulations.

Lifeless by DragonSix 2012-01-08T00:58:00

Models and animations looked good. The world shapes looked interesting but the lacked textures. If I looked down while running on an empty field, it felt like I was walking on the same spot. The sound was incredibly annoying though.

Gemclusion by WiggleWorm513 2011-12-31T16:31:00

Very cool game. It has a lot to do with another game I was involved with over the last year. Gem merging is a cool twist on the formula.

alone I art by Make A Game 2011-12-21T09:14:00

Thanks for the feedback. We didn't have an opportunity to play test the whole level and we knew there was a possibility of it being too big for a single playthrough, but we barely submitted in time. That's why the Gallery in the main menu was so important for us, to give some replayability if you just want to see the paintings. We'll be planning some additional modes just like the one you suggested and probably different museums (from small to big like the one you played).

alone I art by Make A Game 2011-12-22T10:29:00

@MadEqua:
That was the original plan. But time constraints and issues with Flixel kept us from adding visitors and a better AI than just pathfinding. It would make the theme of being alone even stronger, since you couldn't be seen by the visitors. We were even pixelated into visitors here, as you can see here: http://www.ludumdare.com/compo/2011/12/18/well-our-main-artist-must-go-home/

alone I art by Make A Game 2011-12-23T11:32:00

Thanks! We feel like Ludum Dare is a good incentive for game prototyping, so we're not closing the book on "alone I art" or "Eggscape". If everything goes well, we'll deliver full games based on those LD entries. But first we need to take care of some important projects. :)

alone I art by Make A Game 2011-12-27T22:15:00

@Shigor: We have a lot of tweaking to do for a postcompo version. Smaller museums and smarter AI might be a good idea.

Glad everyone here is enjoying the game. :D
Thanks for the support!

alone I art by Make A Game 2012-01-07T03:13:00

Yeah, looking back, if we had time, we should have made a 10 minute timer. :(

alone I art by Make A Game 2012-01-08T21:18:00

@Milo: We wanted a guard AI similar to the Metal Gear series, but since we didn't have time, we tried to make the guard paths come near each other for some challenge when being pursued.
I agree it's easy, but when you're trying to fit a small painting through a small doorway, oh man. :D

alone I art by Make A Game 2012-01-09T21:44:00

We hear you! We originally wanted the game with multiple levels and smarter, more hive minded AI.
We love these comments, and the way everyone points the same problems. It means we really need to deliver on those in the future. :) Thank you!

Argus Finnigan's: Loneliness is R'lyehian by triggs 2012-01-08T01:50:00

It controlled fine but there should have some other challenge than just platforming. The small platforms on the third room weren't very obvious and double jumping seemed to make the character lose speed.

ZERO2 by kato9 2011-12-28T15:13:00

The graphics are awesome, but there is no music or sound that gameplay experience would improve a lot from that! Great job.

The first thing I saw was a typo (cyro bed), which reminded me about a typo in our game. Empathy achieved in the first second!

Lonebot by Patacorow 2012-01-08T01:41:00

This game had potential but I found some stuff to be incredibly annoying. There were times where it wasn't clear where to go next. Falling on some pits resulted in game over but then the way forward was falling on a hole at the end of the path. And to make things worst, the HUD covered some of the floating platforms. Checkpoint were welcome if they added a bit more energy back, I had lost so much life when I first encountered the jumping enemies, that I couldn't even get close to the one in the next area. And the way the jumping enemies moved was terrible, they didn't have momentum on their jumps, they'd just stop midair and change direction if I tried to jump over them. Getting back energy was hard since the hearts didn't fall down. Sorry but I just lost patience from falling over and over again due to the platforms not being visible. Music was good though.

Abandoned Planet by Wahooney 2012-01-09T01:34:00

The game over message doesn't make it clear that you lost. And you have to wait through 10 seconds of flickering text to realize that.
Right click doesn't work if you're playing on a browser.
The EM was a cool gadget, but I'd never know I had it if I wasn't trying out the controls.
The grabbing mechanic wasn't great, and I don't understand why the need for mouse controls. Is there shooting involved at some point?
It looks interesting, but there isn't much of an objective to guide me through.

Alone With Myself in a Box by Aaron 2011-12-28T21:05:00

This one of the best games I've seen thus far!
I loved the fact that there was even a tutorial level.
The whole scene + sounds created a very agreeable mood. Congratulations. Hope you get a good final score!

PS- We also used flixel in our entry game but we had a lot of trouble with it. Glad to see that it worked for you!

Mr. Treevil's Lonely Heart by José Eduardo Terán 2011-12-31T16:48:00

Good luck with the game, keep working on it!

Lonely Space Marshal by Zuieni 2012-01-08T00:17:00

It controls well, but it lacks pretty much the rest. The music was nice. I reached the boss and I didn't understand if I was killed or if I beat it. I don't recall getting hit. I loved the moving platform jump sound bug. :D

Too late but (almost) finished by LeReveur 2011-12-27T21:32:00

I certainly wasn't expecting a tile game!

Dead World by Saxon Douglass 2011-12-31T17:21:00

I was giggling at the music while I was trying to figure out what I could do.

foreveralone by ibnutri 2011-12-23T20:11:00

I agree with Randomasta. I didn't know how much health I had until I died.

Stand alone by AhNinniah 2011-12-27T23:23:00

The astronaut's movement is really slow compared to the speed at which things are coming towards you.

The Sanctuary by zorrtwice 2011-12-31T16:56:00

Some nice pixel work and an idea that you can progress on to make a kickass game. Good job and keep at it!

Phil: A Search for a Friend by Bullseye8841 2011-12-31T18:05:00

Nice! I'd like to see this finished. Didn't see the use of the stealth walking option though.

Jim just wants to be alone by King 2011-12-26T16:44:00

Pretty hard to play because when you get touched, it screws with your controls. At a certain point, I just went to the top of the level and waited. Bitches please. :D

Busy King by Rose 2011-12-27T20:30:00

Interesting idea, I can easily see this turned into a time management game like Diner Dash or something even better!

Shaped by sendmorepeople 2011-12-27T21:23:00

Good mood and audio. One of my favorite Jam entries!

Do NOT Hug Me! by ziomorti 2011-12-27T20:04:00

The theme, "Alone", was evident in the game mechanics.
Maybe it could be more polished but I had fun playing your game nevertheless!
Good job =)

Party Quest: Never Go It Alone by ScreamRawr 2012-01-08T00:28:00

I didn't find anyone to join my party. :(

"Look again at that dot. That's here. That's home. That's us. On it everyone you love, everyone you know, everyone you ever heard of, every human being who ever was, lived out their lives." Carl Sagan, A Pale Blue Dot

=) I enjoyed the experience but I agree with summaky there is something missing. I didn't feel a sense of purpose. =) Full points for the breath taking solar system that you've created.

OUTPOST_NULL by VonZippenstein 2012-01-08T03:44:00

I never knew game maker could render 3D graphics like this. I just wished the gameplay was more elaborated.

VOXTERIUM by Kitch 2012-01-08T01:11:00

I really wanted to like this game but there are some big problems with it. The text is reeaaaally hard to read, and the grid spacing is too small. I selected Hardcore and I don't know why I'd fail 2 seconds in. From what I understand, once I get the big gun upgrade and the virus launches hundreds of skull boxes, it's game over, even if I don't hit any of them. How do the skull boxes kill me anyway? The instructions state I shouldn't shoot them but it looks like there's another factor involved.

While I see no connection to the "alone" theme, I find the concept very interesting and I'd love to play a more balanced version. The music and sound effects where great too.

Follow by Pixelbear 2011-12-27T20:38:00

Cool graphics and sound, but the interactions are harder than they should be. How do you use the rod in the gate? When I clicked it the guy just walked to the right.

Aurea Oceanus by bompo 2011-12-31T23:23:00

I really liked the immersion achieved by the breathing-like sounds, the gloomy underwater scenary, the camera shake when the sharks attack.

Alone In The Office by Goodlookinguy 2011-12-27T20:21:00

Good thing you delivered anyway! Good sign of perserverance, and you get points for humor.

OMFG FFS will you LEAVE me ALONE by yerahmeel 2011-12-27T21:06:00

Cool art and very functional design.
Good theme choice for Ludum Dare. Am I rite fellas?

Lone Wolf by Oliver Simon 2011-12-31T18:17:00

Interesting idea, but I lost without knowing why.

Maze Explorers by caranha 2011-12-24T18:43:00

A maze with a twist =D!
Although I have completed the 5 levels I couln't find the cat easter egg.
I got mixed feelings concerning the sound, in one hand the omnomnom sound helped with the humor, but the step sound was so annoying that made me turn the sound off, but anyway good job ^-^, and congratulations for your first participation =).
Keep the giving us games :P

Enslaving Davement by Sean Hogan (anodyne/even the ocean) 2011-12-29T13:40:00

I agree with SonnyBone but the game seems very solid despite that.
Good job! Hope you keep participating in the upcoming challenges :P!

Looking For Group by scottychips 2011-12-27T22:59:00

Cool setting, and nice twist to the theme!

Neukoelln Nights by desucrerer 2011-12-27T20:52:00

I was very interested up to the point where everything stopped responding. I was on the balcony with the spanish chick, after sendind the emo guy back in.

I Hate Being Delicious by evilseanbot 2011-12-31T18:49:00

Interesting idea, reminds me of our own entry!

Saint Lino by hipon 2011-12-27T23:13:00

This is a lot harder than I expected at first! Nice graphics, but they limit the gameplay (meaning you can only play on the floor) so you can show the landscape.

Together Alone by zwets 2011-12-31T20:23:00

Lovely art, and nice difficulty curve.

Alone in the Crane by evilindiegames 2011-12-31T17:40:00

This has so much to do with our last Ludum Dare entry, Eggscape. I'd like to know if you guys played it.

20/30 by saintofpenguins 2012-01-08T16:13:00

I got stuck on the bottom right area of the map with a bunch of enemies below me. And it also crashed Chrome after I closed it.

Speed to Freedom by helloserve 2012-01-08T02:28:00

A runner in first person, nice. My only issues with it were the lack of fine tune in the randomness of the obstacles (I got impossible groups of obstacles a couple of times) and cables having such a big hitbox.

Buttercup's Castle by bostelk 2011-12-31T18:42:00

Awesome twist on the theme. We tried to rule out all the common themes when designing our entry, and it's cool to see that you got one that we didn't think of!

Omnis Moriar: Dawn of the Forsaken by lordvashi 2012-01-06T00:19:00

Movement speed needed some tweaking, even sprinting was incredibly sluggish. Shame there's nothing to do besides walking around.

Zombie in love must remain alone. by DiThi 2011-12-31T17:09:00

Oh man, this game looks so good.

Alone in the War by ReikVal 2012-01-06T00:24:00

There's no need to build an engine to compete in the Jam. The lack of instructions and the bad interface (mouse clicks mostly didn't register) didn't leave me with patience to try it for longer.

Ascent by monkeyScience 2011-12-27T20:27:00

Cool atmosphere and use of sound! The first time I played I just went straight up and didn't even use the rope. That part wasn't very clear. On the second time though I tried to use it, and the game made a lot more sense. Sweet!

Solitude-Seeking Rock Star by David20321 2011-12-31T17:03:00

Insane ambitions for a 72h game!

Spirit In Mansion by Drabiter 2012-01-06T00:42:00

I like how the main menu tells you right away that this is a Fatal Frame inspired game. I didn't understand what's the factor behind getting damage, but there were enough health kits to reach the end and defeat the last ghost.

Defend yourself by object404 2011-12-23T20:12:00

I feel cheated.

HUG MONSTER by recursive frog 2011-12-27T21:08:00

I loved the monster. (/0 ^_^)/0
The whole game feels very neat. The control using aceleration really helps beating the plainness. It's a pity that there isn't a background music or sound effects.
Anyway awesome job for a 48hour entry!

Tiny planet by Madball 2011-12-31T17:50:00

I hadn't seen a game where you start by going left since maybe Super Metroid. :)

Alone by Lilleman 2011-12-28T19:01:00

I wouldn't notice that this was a side scrolling game if not for the comments. The invisible wall in the middle is ok, if there is some kind of moving background.
Like whilefun I enjoyed the zombie sounds =). Cheers

The Diary by DalsGames 2012-01-06T00:33:00

The way the game switched between levels was disorientating. The collisions also made the game pretty difficult, being pushed away too far after getting hit. However, I loved how the arm with the pistol would detach itself from the player if I made it rotate too much. :D

Alone with Mines by vgrichina 2011-12-31T18:55:00

Cool idea, but there's not enough feedback for me to know the proximity to the bombs. I just lost randomly.

A Whisperer in Darkness: The Game by Sawtan 2012-01-08T16:45:00

Not that clear on the objectives at first, but the art and gameplay choice were interesting.

Gloaming by lapogo 2012-01-06T00:49:00

So how are we supposed to know there's a hole right at the beginning of the game if we don't have paint to color the platform? This could have been a great game if it had a better level design and did away with the timer.

Alone in Space by The Evil Cult 2011-12-27T22:36:00

Cool start, but for most of the game I felt like there was nothing I could do but to read texts about not being able to interact with stuff.

With such huge letters and a tiny text box, it feels like your text is way longer than it actually is.

The Secluded Cave by Stargoat 2012-01-08T02:21:00

Nice twist on the dual stick shooter.

Midas by Wanderlands 2011-12-27T23:10:00

This is my favorite game from the Jam so far. Awesome game mechanics, clean style and you even gave it a light storyline. I'll get back to this one after I've checked the other games. Great job!

.Journey to Polygonia by sythe 2011-12-26T15:35:00

Movement feels good, but there's no incentive to collect all the dark crystals and after a while and started running as fast as I could to the right, until the game bugged out when an enemy fell on top of me while riding an elevator. The music was moody, but I saw no visual connection. What are the enemies supposed to be?

The Tomb by Okkwogg 2012-01-08T03:19:00

I like the variety of the multiple areas of the tomb, but no sound or a challenge other than platforming skills to find the soul pieces was a real killer. I lost interest after 10 minutes.

Surume, the little squid by shuanDang 2011-12-31T17:57:00

Cool ambient

Divided by TeamInk 2012-01-06T01:00:00

The concept is quite interesting, and I believe this game could be more fun, but the levels, specially the first ones, that should introduce the gameplay mechanics, are too hard! Still, I'm interested in playing a more balanced version in the future.

Alonzo by benxtan 2011-12-23T20:09:00

Such a weird entry. I can't really call it a game, as it's more of a self-contained narrative where you can't really make any meaningful decisions other than moving forward.

Alone With a Phone by waynebeam 2011-12-28T15:03:00

The idea and gameplay feel very fresh and unique =D. It's a pity that there isn't sound. Good job =D

Alone In Space by Rayboy 2012-01-06T01:11:00

I really loved the animations but the controls weren't very responsive. And it should be more forgiving when slightly touching the enemies.

Quiet City by Leverpastej 2012-01-08T02:13:00

Man that was creepy. I died twice until I realized that other character only came after me when I wasn't looking.

And I get the feeling he clipped through geometry or spawn right behind me when I was going to get a key. Everyone is talking about a weeping angel but I didn't get any sound.

This is a nice, uncomfortable concept. It just needs a better objective and some good fitting art style.

1 SHOAL by nklsrh 2011-12-26T16:35:00

Didn't understand if I needed to absorb the semi-transparent blue bubbles to score or avoid the opaque ones. And it made Chrome unresponsive after closing the game's page.

The Stars Need a Friend, Too... by gubester 2011-12-31T17:06:00

Functional. I played it for a while, but didn't reach some sort of ending. Does it eventually end?

5 Little People by Lixels 2012-01-08T16:28:00

Sorry, really hard to play with the graphic and sound bugs.

Shell by aeveis 2011-12-31T19:19:00

I really like this idea, even though I'm not fond of the interface. Cool take on the theme.

Adrift by johnl 2011-12-28T14:54:00

I got lost *cries*. =) I realy enjoyed getting lost in this maze game. Having an automatic camera would be great but this is an awesome work for a 48h entry nonetheless. The hero is very cute and the graphics are neat overall.
This is a wonderfull first entry! Keep giving us games :P.

Lil' Zombies by eriksundqvist 2011-12-31T19:21:00

The stereo sound is inverted here.

ROM CHECK FAIL WITHOUT A CAUSE by ExciteMike 2011-12-27T21:18:00

LD23 — Tiny World

Epic space defence by caseymac 2012-04-26T19:59:00

For some reason I couldn't place towers (I'm playing it on Chrome) but I see where you were going and I like it! You should keep working on it.

My Kid Dropped The Planet by MadGnomeGamer 2012-05-14T00:42:00

That's a funny premise. :D

Spitoon by Sestren 2012-05-09T22:06:00

Cool mechanic but it really needed a restart button.

Bill in BSODia by vigrid 2012-05-05T17:14:00

If it had started on fullscreen automatically it would have scared the crap out of me! I enjoyed the humor and the use of the theme. The feedback on wall colliding is a bit too much but I liked it!

Free Donutia by the8donut 2012-05-05T00:48:00

Awesome entry! Visuals are charming, loved especially how chaotic the game becomes! Sometimes collisions are a little buggy, but the game played almost flawlessly!

Little Sky.... by davisan 2012-05-05T19:00:00

I never really made it to the top because the boxes start to shrink. I can see the theme there but it's so bleak!

Tinysoft by wurstknifte 2012-05-12T11:52:00

Same as Zamando and the scrolling should start way before you reached the corner of the screen.

Cells by Ulixava 2012-04-27T23:18:00

I haven't been able to play your game =(. I tried to run with: javaw -jar CellCollection.jar And java -jar CellCollection.jar

A Tiny Planet by PabloAlexandre31 2012-05-05T21:54:00

I like your concept but I don't get why gathering the objects would make the planet that much smaller.

Poiesis by Them Games 2012-04-24T18:27:00

I also couldn't find the button on the right but otherwise this game has a strong image, the old photography style was amazing, and the idea brilliant. The fonts were to small to read without effort and lacked a synergy with the art style. The music got a bit repetitive after a while.
Thanks for the experience it was worth it, and keep on the good work =)

ineptia by Sodaware 2012-05-14T00:54:00

Interesting mechanics! I'd like to see this as a boardgame. :) "Walking" sound is way too loud and the first two "steps" overlap.

Le Petit by Pixelulsar 2012-05-05T01:45:00

Cool art-style. I had the same problems with the controls that other people talked about before, though. Controls felt bugged and I had to read your first comment here to learn about how it actualy works. I like the challenge but it gets a bit frusting :) Keep at it!

Le Petit by Pixelulsar 2012-05-05T02:05:00

Aaaaand after more than 300 deaths I got to finish it. Every checkpoint is a victory. :)

9Lives by TheGamingProject 2012-05-05T21:41:00

So many minigames! You use the screen in some cool ways, but there are moments where everything it too small to really see what's going on. There's as much text as gameplay.

Corgi Recon Force by sirpalee 2012-04-24T19:58:00

Aww... The background music and the protagonist made my heart warm and fuzzy =D. The intro was sweet too. I want a corgi recon force for myself!
It's a pity that there is no HUD and the approach doesn't stray from the traditional platform =(.

Cytokine by rocky1138 2012-04-26T19:46:00

Finished the one level, it insulted me in the end.

OSC: Dawn by crhallberg 2012-05-14T00:21:00

What a bizarre idea, certainly new for me!

ONLY US by Datamosh 2012-05-13T23:17:00

Found it to be quite hard and grind-y, but the mechanics are solid and has a great mood to it. Amazing work for only 72h.

Flight of the Ladybug by robcozzens 2012-05-05T00:31:00

It has charming visuals and merry-go-round soundtrack. A simple yet very competent one-button game that provided challenge! Well done!

Boxed in. by PIXEL^3 2012-05-05T01:09:00

I liked the out of the box mechanics ;-). The background tune and art provide for a neat look and feel. Congratulations!

Let's Go Moon by Transmit 2012-04-25T01:27:00

Shame it capped at 703 mass, I wanted to break the game and have the moon bigger than the game window. :D

Empty by Tim Bumpus 2012-04-28T01:04:00

Having the same problems has everyone else. :\

Empty by Tim Bumpus 2012-04-28T02:18:00

@Puzzlem00n:
No, I really wasn't able to control the game properly. I kept struggling with the controls and clipping through the boxes, unable to move them to where I wanted to. After a while I got stuck on a box and trying to get out of it would just move it left or right. Sorry, I should have been more specific.

Blob Blob TROUBLE! by samooJAM 2012-05-12T00:21:00

I keep getting mobbed. :(

I Should Clean My Keyboard by cmo7 2012-05-14T00:51:00

For a people whose planet originated in the midst of a keyboard, they sure tell their story with funny typos. I wish there was some info about controlling the shots with the mouse, because I spent some time thinking how useless the shooting was. Fun nevertheless.

Tininess Defense by The-Force 2012-05-05T22:30:00

Interesting game, though the controls didn't always respond the the way I expected them to!

Tiny Shards by Gabriel 2012-05-04T16:22:00

Awesome entry, one of the best I've seen so far! The graphics are really heartwarming, the controls are slick as butter and the music shines! I look forward to play your main project soon! Cheers!

Hungry Ants by Dew 2012-04-24T19:19:00

I've got problems trying to play this game in Firefox, but it seemed to have worked alright in Chrome.

When I attempted to restart after learning the mechanics I got this bug ;-) http://dl.dropbox.com/u/7030527/Capture.PNG

What I liked the most:
-the intro;
-the liberty to express myself while building my ant colony;
-the underground art;

I missed a background music :(! The major flaw in this game, in my opinion is the HUD that was a bit confusing but the overall experience was very welcome.
Good job =D.

Skull Assault by Ohmega 2012-05-04T16:37:00

I agree with most of the comments here regarding the controls, why not using W for jumping and space or enter to shoot? It would improve the game a milefold! Still, it was pretty slick regarding animations and fun to play once you get the hang of it! Nice, polished entry!

Nano Strike by Qaterknan 2012-05-14T00:00:00

I like the look of it, but the tutorial is hard to follow when it keeps constantly changing the text (which is hard to read due to low contrast).

Conqueror by Hume 2012-05-06T18:56:00

Edutainment, on Ludum Dare? Hehe, it was fun, but the collision detection on the cities screwed me up a couple of times.

Tinysasters by Volute 2012-05-05T23:11:00

This is one of the most impressive and polished entries I've seen so far! Cool game and good feedback!

Phobius by deejorg 2012-04-25T16:10:00

What a great idea! The mechanic is clever and the animations are awesome. I liked the rhythm of the music but found it a bit too high pitched.

I think that the relaxing pill could have a visual effect in the main character, to point out that he can jump higher.

Also, I got a bug where I jump right before I should have melted, but instead lost air control and landed, without being able to move. I had to restart the game.

Nonetheless, I really loved this game, it's one of my favorites of this LD. Congrats!

Lord Deadrock's Adventures by abstroke 2012-04-26T19:53:00

I like the concept but I eventually got stuck in the wall. Pleasant visuals!

Dusty by DWallin 2012-05-14T00:25:00

The mood reminds me of Rathergood's shorts, which definitely freaked me out. Gameplay reminded me of Osmos. Neat!

Copulous by keely 2012-04-25T01:20:00

I eagerly followed your updates on the LD blog. Really love the final version. It's hilarious!

Tiny Timmy and Big Bill by OmarShehata 2012-05-05T23:03:00

Oh cool! Nice idea and graphics, but playing it with a laptop trackpad isn't easy at all.

Super World of Progress Achievement by SevenForce 2012-04-26T22:38:00

Cool art!

March of the Ladybirds by MrDanH 2012-05-09T22:29:00

Good twist on the Lemmings mechanic, but you forgot the all important fast-forward button. ;)
I didn't get past the pit with the disappearing blocks because I kept getting one ladybug stuck on a single block that wouldn't go away since the bug couldn't leave it.

Sun Save World by castor 2012-05-09T22:18:00

Lasted 268 seconds until there were no more plants. At a certain point it seemed like the sun light could kill the humans. They were turning red for other reason besides hunger.

ACTION SCIENCE DOG by bburbank 2012-05-12T00:03:00

I got to Sub level 5 and the game became unplayable with due to a framerate issue. I also had a an invisible exit in two levels, barking didn't make them appear, I stumbled onto them while exploring. I wish there was more content, there's a fun premise here.

Spaceways by roundcrisis 2012-05-12T12:28:00

I really loved the concept and gameplay, but I keep getting a game over every minute in. It's really hard to pinpoint the location of the other planets that are building the spaceways. They gang up on Earth pretty quickly.

pixTown by Mysterarts 2012-05-11T23:36:00

That was pretty awesome. I just had one issue, with both versions actually, and it's the starting square changing color when pressing any key to start the game. I'd totally see myself playing this on an ipod.

One Small Step for a Man by Sup Dood 2012-05-01T19:02:00

The overall ideia was good (somehow a 2D Super Mario Galaxy) but it lacked visual feedback to the player about what to espect with some objects, radius of the gravity fields and some polishment: for example, if the character rotated with the gravity field as the axis, the jumps would feel much more "confortable" to the eye and the overall game experience. Good work, though, you should build up on that game idea :)

Tiny world on mercury by Marthog 2012-04-26T14:35:00

=D nice to see one brave enough to go for a 3D game in a 48H schedule. Good job

(PS- Is it possible to win? I played two times and it always reached a point where I couldn't deal with the incoming meteorites)

Game of anthills by azmaeve 2012-04-27T22:39:00

Thanks for sharing =D. Although this is more a simulation than a game I've enjoyed it a lot (alas I like AI).

Lost Oxide by SidetrackGames 2012-05-05T22:39:00

Cool game, nice art and ambient.

Away from Home by pirate-rob 2012-04-26T13:48:00

I felt a bit confused while playing this =(.
I liked the minimalist graphics and your commitment to create content to populate your game =). Unfortunately the menus don't have a synergy with the rest of the look&feel (that otherwise was pretty consistent and moody), but alas... GameMaker =).
Nice job =D

Bad Neighbors by NukeTheBunnys 2012-05-05T00:54:00

I couldn't understand what was going on but the visuals (despite being very dark) seemed very nice.
I was left with some questions
Did I upgrade the satellites every time I hit the upgrade buttons?
Can I actually win or lose?
=) It's pretty tough to use a new framework for the first time for Ludum Dare. Wish you the best in your next endeavours.

My Little Dungeon by thegreystudios 2012-05-14T00:57:00

Made me miss Dungeon Keeper. I wish I could skip the intro. Pretty cool concept. Give it a bit more control over the monsters and loot and you have a great game here.

My Little Dungeon by thegreystudios 2012-05-14T01:01:00

Oh wow, never mind that, for some reason I wasn't getting the different types of enemies from the bigger rooms.

Microscopia by azurenimbus 2012-05-09T22:41:00

Itty-bitty botty by royvanrijn 2012-05-06T17:55:00

Thank god I found the right key on my second try, or I'd miss the funny escape and bar puzzles.

Spaceships: Origins by liger13 2012-05-12T01:03:00

It was a bit hard since there's not a lot of space to see the shots coming, since the screen starts getting filled with bullets after the fifth warp.

muniverse by namuol 2012-04-24T19:38:00

=D it reminds me of the ME1 travelling system! You were right some planet textures would make this look amazing (I loved the spaceship minimal art and controls). With a little more time I'm sure the experience will improve a lot =D. It's easy to try to overachieve in LudumDare, trying to do everything to perfect our game.

Get The FROG Off My World !! by CitrusPunchSamurai 2012-05-04T15:47:00

Game was visually cute and challenging. My only noteworthy gripe was the fact that sometimes frogs disappear once they reach the planet. Otherwise, it was fun!
Score: 75

Puny World by villhest 2012-04-26T20:25:00

Good mood and sound but it isn't really a game. I bet you can turn it into one though. Keep at it!

To What a Mountain? by cageinabird 2012-05-05T23:22:00

Cool mood and text!

Ant Command by Aaron San Filippo 2012-04-26T19:26:00

Pleasant graphics and sound but gameplay gets repetitive quick. Still, I can see how this could turn into a really cool time management game!

Motherboard City by westm 2012-04-26T16:11:00

Congratulations on your first entry!
The jumps were a nightmare but the graphics are very neat =D.

The tiny life by bombom 2012-05-05T17:33:00

I certainly was intrigued by this game! It has a nice use of theme, cool mood and "card kung-fu" was awesome. The health in the card's face is a really neat idea, but most of the time I couldn't see it. The only thing I didn't like was dying because of simply falling through the set.

Tiny God wants a Bigger World by Thotep 2012-05-05T22:12:00

At first they all died, but at second I succeeded! Cool use of theme and nice mechanics! I wish there was a way to actively protect the villagers (tried to drown the red dots but that didn't work)

So Many Tiny Worlds, So Little Time by isNaN 2012-05-06T17:41:00

Did you use a Djembe for the sound effects? :D

Operation Tinder Feat by cacciatc 2012-04-26T14:12:00

Nice take on the theme! It's a pity that there is no sound and it was difficult for me to differentiate the walls from the roads, at first. I liked the duality pressure/water =D it spices a bit the gameplay but it should be easier to get pressure, (damn you OnPressed [z]-key event!!!!)!
;-) keep on the good work...

Tiny Journey by Evil Sandwich Studios 2012-04-24T16:58:00

Dark & gloomy. The last part was awesome.
=D

A Giant Step by Quinas 2012-04-28T21:56:00

This was very fun to play.
What I liked the most:
- the take on the theme;
- the background music fits very well the gameplay;
- the secret cheat system :P
- THE TOY REFERENCES!!

The baby model doesn't feel right. the leg separating itself from the knee felt creepy O_O. haha Congratulations on your first entry, =) it would be lovely to play another game by you.

Save Tiny World by Biv Game Studios 2012-04-28T00:58:00

Sorry, don't have an android.

Boxed by starpixie 2012-05-05T19:23:00

Good use of theme and great concept!

Predicament by orangepascal 2012-04-28T02:08:00

Nice little adventure. I really love the look of it and how smooth the controls are. Shame it's so short.

SAVE YOUR FOLKS! by ilikescifi 2012-05-02T18:35:00

Neat idea and well executed. Wish the twist with the zombies would last longer. :) Good job!

Don't mess with magical cube by toadd-y 2012-05-14T00:47:00

I want to play it but the website is down! I hope not many people had this problem earlier on.

Tiny the Adventurer by onehandclap 2012-05-06T19:06:00

It looked pretty great but if you're not going to give the player retries, you could at least reset the player to the start of the current level. Got to the end of the 3rd one, missed a jump and got kicked back to the title screen. I'd like to play a less punishing version.

Pretentious Game by keybol 2012-04-27T10:32:00

I'm also not sure if this is meant as a honest interactive hipster love poem or a joke but I love it anyway. You entertained me to the end and then I spammed my friends with it.

Delirium by Puccini 2012-04-24T17:50:00

The blue/red pill mechanics was a nice take on the "Tiny World" theme. It was a pity not to find sound effects or a warm and fuzzy background music. Good job =D!

DANCING NINJA! by Jabu 2012-05-05T22:18:00

-1 for using a ripped sprite, but I really like the mood of the game! Found the character hard to control so I didn't really manage to progress to the end.

SlimeABug by schattenkind.net 2012-04-26T20:21:00

Very interesting concept. Gameplay reminds me of the "Evolution" theme more than the Tiny World one but I enjoyed it!

Planet Devourer by Brassawiking 2012-04-26T20:08:00

Interesting, but the only way to learn how to use the weapons is to fail the first time!

Kumiho by Christina Antoinette Neofotistou 2012-05-05T00:35:00

This was trully engaging, I have a soft spot for bullet-hell games! Executition was superb, with nice graphics, simple gameplay and the addition of the teleport gameplay which made it unique among the genre!

ZUNZANDA by SonnyBone 2012-04-26T10:23:00

I haven't been able to beat the game, but this is my 48H favourite entry so far. The green creature is very cute. The sound effects are awesomely blended. The voice acting was an amazing surprise and the narration was very complementary to the gameplay! I don't dare to imagine what another 24H would do to this game.
It was very thoughtful of you to include the sandbox =D. Congratulations =D

Attack of the Tiny People by Catmoo 2012-04-26T19:35:00

Very fluid and I was really glad to see a highscore window pop up at the end, it's one of the things we couldn't do due to the time constraints.

Planet Life by Sos 2012-05-03T19:11:00

One of the best, I would say. Love your take on the theme. The graphics are great too, congratulations!

Tiny World '82 by BleuLlama 2012-05-06T19:22:00

Yep, runs on mame.

Solenopsis Invicta by CoffeeOnimal 2012-05-13T23:02:00

Seems interesting but I had a lot of trouble telling the ants where to go. I even grabbed some, placed them near food, and then they ran away to another piece of food elsewhere.

Tiny Huge Planet by Jesper Oskarsson 2012-04-27T23:25:00

Someone has been thinking out of the computer box literally!
I've read the game rules, now I need someone to team up with to play. ;-)

Terra Bellum by voxel 2012-05-12T12:20:00

Had to play the lowfi version. There's a lot of trial and error, but it's pretty entertaining. I thought I could shoot through my green light barriers but I destroyed them instead. A tutorial would be much appreciated. :)

Rudolph the JUMPING SPIDER by zdanielz 2012-05-06T18:38:00

Nice concept and the music fits very well.

tr-3012 by heuermh 2012-05-04T16:04:00

This game lacks a bit of visual feedback and perhaps a tutorial. On the other hand, once I started to make sense of the robots roles I had fun improvising some beats. The concept deserves to be developed further! A daring entry!

Nook by PoV 2012-04-28T02:02:00

Amazing job. I just wish that the lizard would wall jump without the need to change the direction. Also, I'm pretty sure I collected all the stars, but only had half of them. Unless you guys hid the rest somewhere off screen. :P

T in Y World by Tom 7 2012-05-14T00:29:00

Great puzzle game. I had a bit of trouble trying to grasp some of the final rules, but after some headbutting, I finally got them.

Pastor Mundi by Geti 2012-05-06T18:47:00

I planted some seeds, awkwardly went up the wooden path to the shelter, found no way in, fell down, saw the scary cave entrance, couldn't enter, went into the water, kept walking into sea, fell through world, pressed K. That was fun. :D

I'm really curious of what this could have been. Make sure you finish it.

TMORPG by goffmog 2012-05-05T18:44:00

This is insanely ambitious for a 48h game! I wish I saw other people online and hadn't been disconnected, but this sure is a lesson in following your dreams.

The Elves end the Shoemaker by Nora Shishi 2012-05-02T11:48:00

How did you come up with this? I love the backstory and how simple the controls are.
The character art reminded me of River City Ransom, which actually made the goal very clear right from the start.
Well done!

Haxe Planets by jfroco 2012-05-09T22:20:00

Tried five times and I couldn't get to the top of the first room with the proper timing to avoid the last enemy.

Tiny Whirled Piece by Martoon 2012-05-05T00:56:00

Wooow, this one really grabbed my attention. Awesome abstract concept, with simple gameplay and provides a nice visual illusion! Would love to see some more gameplay features added in the future. I am keeping an eye on this entry!

Desire by zazery 2012-05-04T16:55:00

This is a fantastic concept! Really suited to a certain a degree of graphical polish and release for the mobile market. Perhaps making some smaller boards to get you started would help this game going further! Congratulations for this amazing entry!

Penguin by asfdfdfd 2012-05-10T20:10:00

It's fun! Reminded me of a newspaper story about curious penguins that look at airplanes with so much attention they end up falling on their backs.
Also, penguins and no linux version? What a tease. :)

Bunny Cube by Sebby 2012-05-05T22:22:00

Cool ambient and characters! The only think I found off-putting was the amount of times I had to press the directional keys in order to get him to move from one face to the other. Well done!

Atomsmash by Dan C 2012-05-06T18:27:00

A bit of a hassle to setup that emulator, couldn't quite figure out which one was the keyboard option. Does it run on an actual C64? Looks cool but it's a shame it was too short for the time it took to setup.

Spinworld by Acheron 2012-05-04T15:56:00

Took me a while to get used to the controls, but this is a great take on a timeless classic. The world spin mechanic was a really good addition and made the game more dynamic!

Tiny Ranger by Monkey Armada 2012-04-26T10:03:00

I liked the gloomy atmosphere. The game seemed a bit plain but fun to play nonetheless, I would love to replay a version with more features! Good job =).

TINY WORlDS by machinas 2012-05-04T16:44:00

This concept was wicked, especially the fact that you peeps managed to adapt it to the theme. With a little bit of work regarding graphics and sound, this could become a gem of a game!

My First World by Dark Acre Jack 2012-05-12T18:39:00

I like it but seem to be quite bad at it!
As said before, the font is hard to read in that size and it's very hard! Still, it brought me back twice. :)

Cubicle Complex by huhwhozat 2012-05-06T22:27:00

If it wasn't for the text in this entry post I would have no real idea what to do. Keep at it, I'd like to see this turned into a real game.

This Planet Ain't Big Enough For The Both Of Us by Cidolfas 2012-05-04T16:29:00

This felt like a jump n'shootin' Smash Bros. It was simple and light hearted fun, although when there are many enemies in the world, the beeping sounds gets a little too overwhelming! Nice entry mate!

Tiny Shelf by Lord_X 2012-04-26T22:36:00

Keep at it and good luck!

ANT SURF HERO: THE SURFENING by JigxorAndy 2012-05-13T23:13:00

Loved it! The ant acting as a moving checkpoint kept moving the action forward. Great job, will play again to try and catch those 3 stars that I missed.

Scape by intmain 2012-05-01T10:16:00

The game looks very polished! I love the art =D and the sound blends quite well. It's simple yet fun.
Although I was expecting a different ending =P, I really enjoyed playing your game.
Congrats and thank you for the experience!

Tiny Word by bcp 2012-05-14T00:58:00

Ahah, I love the dumb quotes. :D Cool game, perhaps a bit too hard! This vote was made 2 minutes before the voting ended!

Cows and Stuff by wademcgillis 2012-05-01T15:31:00

Gets from silly and funny to kind of annoying a bit quickly. I really enjoyed the intro story and the gameplay, though. Great job. :)

Revolves by natpat 2012-05-04T16:59:00

The idea is there! This can become a really good game with more work. I ended up not moving the character that much, and basically relied on timing and gravity shifts to get through the levels. Keep working on the game, I'm sure it will bear some fruit!

Estrape by sharbelfs 2012-05-04T17:13:00

The idea is worthwhile. I think that in order to make this game a real standout, you should scale up the planets and make adjustments to the ropes mechanics (they do seem a bit random). Keep improving it and I will revisit it!

Lauch a rocket by volando 2012-05-04T17:03:00

The red button, space rocket version. Head hurts...

I'm not sure if there are only two levels...
The cutscenes were fun =). Congrats!

Cool art, nice music and awesome splash screen!

The Last Square by caribou 2012-04-24T19:45:00

I tried to play in Firefox and Chrome but either way I ended up getting this error: LD23.hx:637:socket security error . =(

The Last Square by caribou 2012-04-24T23:03:00

=D this is amazing! The multiplayer really adds a lot. I couldn't win, but I got hooked for quite a while =D.
Congratulations =D

LittleEarth's Last Stand by jmf 2012-05-05T18:15:00

Some weird hitbox issues, but fun!

Glue Galaxy Rescue! by kirbytails7 2012-05-05T01:02:00

Katamari meets space! Great idea complemented by some epic music that got me glueing! Just needs some work on the animation and perhaps some scenario obstacles to make it more challenging! Awesome Entry!

Sako by Xam 2012-05-14T00:30:00

Cool graphics and music, weird key layout. I felt I was playing Dance Dance Revolution with my hands. I don't think it has much to do with the theme, but I had a good time with it. How were you supposed to kill the red snake?

Bottlecolonies by tcstyle 2012-05-09T22:00:00

Relaxing gameplay although I found it extremely hard to reach the objective score. Really enjoyed the hand drawn graphics. Great job!

Subatomica by SFBTom 2012-05-05T22:52:00

Cool concept!

Poor Pluto's Revenge by DavidErosa 2012-05-11T23:50:00

As always, beautiful eyecandy! I tried the 72h version, didn't finish it at the time and then read on twitter that you've improved the feedback. Went back and had fun! Thanks!

Short Life in a Box by tequibo 2012-05-06T19:39:00

Finally someone knows how to lock the mouse to the center of the screen on a Unity game! Had fun looking for the upgrades and secrets, but only found 4. I tried to break the game by flying and falling out of the world, but I was surprised that was the way to end it. One thing that was really misleading was that the controls were on the game page, but there was no info about the upgrades. I nearly gave up playing since Space wasn't jumping.

TinyInspiration by Shigor 2012-04-24T21:47:00

What kind of mad man has got a doll house, a gay action figure cop and an horny barbie on his desk???????? *be afraid very afraid*!! xD
Nice to play another game by you, this time totally different, an unfortunately male targeted -_- but it was well done for a graphic adventure.
In the end I gave the cop some coffee, cross dressed to get into the house, gave a jewel to the barbie and used the leather for a bondage session. xD da fuq did I just did???
Congrats ;-) keep on the crazy work.

Tiny Adventures In SPACE by Jacic 2012-05-13T23:43:00

I was expecting to land on a planet with a crashed scissor cargo ship.

Pale Blue Dot by KevinWorkman 2012-05-13T23:26:00

Oh man, we we're going to make something similar to this. I really enjoyed it but a bigger viewport would be appreciated. I could barely see what was coming from the sides. Loved the names poping up when hitting the objects, but the Carl Sagan speech just made the game way more hilarious than I was expecting.

I want to turn the heater on by Andrew 2012-05-14T00:14:00

It was short, random, and I solved most of the puzzles by accident. I'm the king of beds.

Overpopulous by Make A Game 2012-04-24T22:26:00

@deviantgeek - We used an in-house game engine made by Pedro Gonçalves =D (this was the first time we used it as a team), box2D physics engine and flint.

@cadin - Glad you liked it =D, the tutorial is the same line as the opening sequence.

Overpopulous by Make A Game 2012-04-27T09:59:00

@jwolf - Yay!!! Scores. ;-)

@Evil Cult - We have created a mirror to help solve the problem =).

Thanks a lot for your feedback and the kind words!

Overpopulous by Make A Game 2012-04-28T21:44:00

Thanks for your feedback! This is one of the best parts for us, ^-^ to hear what you guys have to say!

@liger13 If the controls were super precise and smooth there would be no challenge! xD The "mengs" are clumsy guys!

Overpopulous by Make A Game 2012-04-29T00:17:00

Your best option is to do an 8-figure or draw an ellipse if you keep circling a planet.

Oh, and for some reason, every natural satellite is using the cheese planet skin. Oh boy.

Overpopulous by Make A Game 2012-05-01T13:24:00

@R3ason: Those astronauts are hard to catch but to balance that they give you more points than colonizing a planet, and a multiplier for your next colonization. You can even stack those multipliers and get a crazy score for just one planet.

@Evil Sandwich Studios: Thanks. And we're really glad there are more and more Portuguese teams competing. :)

@vigrid: Thanks! That's the feel we wanted to achieve. Shame we didn't implement leaderboards on time.

Overpopulous by Make A Game 2012-05-11T14:54:00

@machinas: Oh man. Did anyone else feel the same? In that case we should slightly tweak the intro so the concept gets through - after the results are out, of course! :)

@Tcstyle: Good point. That happened because we didn't know the absolute scale the ingame elements would be in. That depended on factors like the ship speed and distance between them. Most of the art you see ingame was made with 4x that size!

@Qaterknan: You got them all? Awesome! I think you're the first one in here that did that, so I'll let you in on a little something. This is what should have happened:

http://www.ludumdare.com/compo/wp-content/uploads/2012/05/win_screen.jpg
This is the end screen you were supposed to have seen. Your score and initials input would be overlayed, which would go into the leaderboards:

Three seconds on the timer, I fly out of orbit. Oh well.

Omni-Illusion by Wingy 2012-04-27T22:55:00

I loved the background chip tune!
The game seemed engaging but a bit confusing. I wasn't able to beat level 4 and I don't know if there was a bug in the level transition as after loosing in level 4 a went to 1 and then to 4 again.
Nice job! =)

A Super Mario Summary by johanp 2012-05-13T23:54:00

Great work. It has some Super Meat Boy vibe to it. I just didn't like the coin sounds, too high pitch for me. I'll be back to play the post compo version when I have the time. Congrats!

All That Are Lost Will Be Found by R3ason 2012-05-05T17:04:00

This is the first game of the kind I've seen in this competition and I enjoyed it! You made me fear for my blue square - though I think it's a bit too dark even when it's not supposed to me. Still, I liked it!

Tiny Defender by KunoNoOni 2012-05-05T00:18:00

A good take on Galaga. It is fun and simple, with very competent work regarding gameplay, graphics and sound. The only thing I would add would be some sort of feedback regarding progress inside a level! Good work and good entry!

Tiny Defender by KunoNoOni 2012-05-05T00:33:00

Although you warned that you were no Beethoven you're definitely competent enough to make a good fitting tune =D!
One problem I've had with this game was the fact that it gets very monotonous after a while.
PS- I love your particle explosions.

Single Cycles by mildmojo 2012-05-05T00:43:00

This is a very simple, yet fun concept. Kudos for the multiplayer which really brought out our competitive side! I would love to see some visual improvement! Awesome job for the daring approach.

Flyght by yosh 2012-05-11T23:40:00

You totally got me off guard when the first wave formation appeared. I wasn't expecting any strategy from those flies.

Planet Run by minism 2012-04-28T01:36:00

There's a lot of potential on this game, the core mechanic is good, but I have no idea why the need for a overall time limit.
There's a lot of trial and error and most of the times the timing on the rotation is random. I was having fun but then the game closed on me after reaching the time limit.

Little Locations by Nolan C 2012-05-05T00:54:00

It seemed like your classic platform game until I fell into a pit. Then the idea made true sense to me. Although it can become fustrating, the innovation factor and classic gameplay makes it shine!

Zephyr by cadin 2012-04-26T02:19:00

An enchanted experience =D. A nice take on the theme, very moody, great mechanics. Congratulations and thank you, I really enjoyed playing your game.

Zombie Fish by Ethanh59 2012-05-04T23:56:00

This was a strange, yet amusing entry. The whole fish-eye perspective works well for visual mindfuckness and brings a distinctive flavor. However it needs more hazards or any sort of obstacles besides time to make it even more fun! I liked the concept too =)

SpaceMission Part 2 by Muu? 2012-05-05T20:44:00

I like it, but it's crazy hard!

Buggy, Tank and Missile Launcher!!! by Vic 2012-04-29T22:50:00

Great work! I like that tower defence like idea, fits well with the theme. Just missing a few GUI help and a background music. But overall it's pretty well done, you should work deeper on the games idea. :)

Rocket Boat by RHY3756547 2012-05-05T00:12:00

Better than most Jam entries I have seen so far. It has everything from graphics to slick, fun gameplay. I love this entry and I urge you to keep it up on LD 24!

Shoebox World by sanojian 2012-04-26T13:13:00

=) Awwww.. The predator is so cute ^--^. The theme seemed to be a bit forced into the game by the initial cutscene, that was inconsistent with the other art, but the overall experience was very entertaining =D. Good job!

Project Peace by ghRibacki 2012-05-05T00:26:00

Great job for a first entry, I actually felt compelled to try to reach the end and talk to every tiny character. All it needed was some challenge to make it a perfect first entry! Welcome to Ludum Dare, hope you stay with us for future editions!

Naos by Sean Hogan (anodyne/even the ocean) 2012-05-05T18:58:00

What an eerie ambient. Sometimes I lost my character in the scenes.

Escape from Minimars by Adhesion 2012-05-01T15:54:00

The graphics made it for me. Se music was cool up until the moment it stop, only the SFX sounds played. I didn't really understood why all the tiny guys loved me, but hey, free hugs. :D Wish the gameplay got a bit more diverse torwards the end of the game, but good job, guys :)

Running on Chrome, by the way. The colisions didn't seem a problem.

Prince of Leaves by evilseanbot 2012-05-05T21:45:00

I liked the tutorial song and the painted background!

Stupid Ants by rvmook 2012-05-14T00:04:00

I keep losing, it's over too fast. I like the visuals and the sound, but there's not enough time to know if I'm doing something right or wrong.

Fire Around by Naouak 2012-05-05T12:07:00

I feel dizzy ^-^ with the circular motion!
This is a good game. Neat graphics, simple.
I played in the pc and I don't know why left and right didn't seem intuitive for the up and down movement, maybe with the game pad the movement feels more natural or maybe I'm just an incorrigible newbie for this velocity settings :P.
Anyway congrats on your game!

The World in a Bottle by Robotic 2012-05-04T15:51:00

This was a surprising entry. The first part of the gameplay was really well done, with great artwork which awakened my inner sadist! I just wished you guys could add more work on the sound department and the bottle sections would not be so zoomed out. Otherwise, a fantastic entry!

World of Destruction by PROWNE 2012-05-10T20:29:00

Got locked on "Connecting..." right after I registered. Too bad, I wanted to play it!

ARACHNID by BuffaloPhil 2012-05-12T00:42:00

I liked it. Collected 50 bugs before closing the game. I even tried to build a proper web, in hopes that I could trap a bird. No such luck. I wish there were more objectives.

Tiny Parallel Worlds by MadcoreTom 2012-05-10T20:24:00

Very nice! When I looked at the picture I thought I'd be playing as the dinosaur.
If you want to polish it for the future I'd advise against the trees as a final obstacle after being able to climb one earlier on. First you teach the player they're ok and suddently they're a threat that even looks like it's hurting you.
Still, good job!

Now it rests on my browser favourites.

INO by Nikich 2013-05-17T23:53:00

I like this idea, although it could be somewhat expanded. The isometric view is nice, but it takes some time to use the controls correctly. To make this game even better, I would add at the start of each level the possibility of visualizing the trap squares for a brief moment, so we would not begin the game completely blind. Still this concept can be worked into something even more amazing =) Kudos for the soundtrack too!

Aqueous by Nickardson 2013-05-08T16:19:00

The first levels: "meh, this is pipes".
On the poo level, "oh, now I've seen some sh*t."

Colourless by Puccini 2013-05-18T12:34:00

=D this definitely hit the spot regarding the theme, it screams minimalism. I loved the minimalist mechanic, and the simple geometric art. It had no sound, but I didn't felt the need for it either.
The only thing not minimized was the fun =D.

DeaN by Sakuyan 2013-05-08T11:46:00

It's a beautifull game, congratulations.
Poor Dean.

(Follow the) Line by Chman 2013-05-08T20:30:00

The visuals are beautifully sharp and the gameplay feels amazing.

Desire by burtlo 2013-05-08T11:00:00

The first time I played I went straight to the red circle.
2007 points.
I loved the concept, great mood, the narrative flowed beautifully it touches topics sometimes deemed as taboo like arousal, desire in an abstract way. Congratulations =)

Box Catcher by voidstar69 2013-05-17T23:35:00

This a great sortie of small mechanics that are challenging and fun. Great minimalist approach. I would give some warm-up time before each level, so we could have some time to read the proposed objective.

qob by alts 2013-05-08T12:07:00

While it is strange to play against myself, I liked it =).
In my oppinion, as it has rotations of stones it's the perfect abstract game that would be easier to play digitaly instead of having phisical pieces dancing everywhere.
The best part of making an abstract game is the fact that it ends up being minimalist anyway =P.
Also (I'm starting to be picky), one thing that can make or break this type of game is having a dominant strategy. As this game is purely deterministic it almost certainly will have a dominant strategy, you need to make sure that this strategy is not easily picked up.
I want to leave you with the challenge to build an AI player =), if you invest in having a good AI you'll be able to spot structural problems that would hardly come by in playtesting.

Dot by Frolacosta 2013-05-10T15:45:00

I loved discovering the rules!
This was straight to the point with the theme :P.

save the bunnies by arrowthefighter 2013-05-08T11:40:00

I'm not particularly fond of instaling things =). I know it's difficult to find a good tool to develop your game with, in my group the tool discution a recurring topic.
Nevertheless I played your game, I liked the idea, the bunnie sprite was super cute (I wanted MORE BUNS, this should be called "save the bunny"). My major problem was the trap activation, it felt too irresponsive.
Anyway congratulations on your first Ludum Dare!

MiniJump by JayPC000 2013-05-08T13:34:00

I couldn't run the jar (win 7)
"couldn't find mini_game.Launcher"
I ended up taking the source I building it but my jre is the version 6 so the problem persists.
I'll probably update and try your game, but if anyone is in my situation I hope this troubleshoot comes handy.

Bonk by tove 2013-05-08T13:41:00

=D I liked the idea of the transparency (in my team we also tried to incorporate it), unfortunately it renders the game almost unplayable, the paddle velocity is too slow and the majority of people need more time to calibrate their audio-location =P.

Pure Green by Christina Nordlander 2013-05-08T13:50:00

=) I didn't knew Twine, your game introduced me to it :P. Thank you.

You were right when you said the game hit the spot with the theme.

minimatch by berjah 2013-05-08T15:32:00

Cool idea ^-^, but I hated the purple thing in the interface as the theme is minimalist it was utterly unnecessary.
I would love to see some levels where you needed to match color shades.

Pointcom: The 1-Page Minimalist Game by NRathbone 2013-05-08T11:22:00

I couldn't play right now but I read and I saved the sheet for my next board games' night =).
I loved your idea, I got shocked when I downloaded the pdf, but after reading the sheet and your description it all made sense.

Speed, Run! by TheBenjaneer 2013-05-08T15:41:00

I liked the instruction bar and the audio amazing.
Congratulations on your first entry =D.
(I cheated after a while)

barry-cade by robertcalvert 2013-05-08T15:49:00

Congratulations on your first entry.
xD I got vertigo after a while (and it's rare for me to get dizzy while playing)
It's minimalist, it's fun, the graphics look like Mondrian (loved it). The only thing that it lacks is a good backgound track =P. I hope to see your next work soon!

The Minimas by longcatlover 2013-05-08T16:25:00

My radius was 30! Congratz on your finished game! xD We always end up having problems with the language/tool we use. But that doesn't keep us from changing and having new problems.

MEGAMINIMAL by InfuriatedCoder 2013-05-08T15:55:00

I loved it, despite getting a bit hard.

Props for the song! =D

Son of a Witch by outerheaven182 2013-05-18T10:14:00

I could only judge by the video.
It seems very funny, the graphics and the sound were well matched but I didn't get the minimalims part.

Mimisi (Minimalistic minimalism simulation) by Aron 2013-05-18T10:05:00

Despite being a little hard after a while (maybe I didn't caugth the best strategy), I enjoyed it. :P I would definitely play again, if you were to polish this a little more!

Chao Ab Ordo by ZeroDivide 2013-05-18T09:49:00

Awesome idea I felt like a cat in laser pointer land =).

I only missed having a feedback of how well I'm doing, like a score. But alas, this way is more minimalist.

NinjaFlare by 8BitPimp 2013-05-08T16:45:00

This game is beautiful. I loved it, and I also enjoyed reading your post-mortem.

Blockade by Inf 2013-05-18T12:23:00

This is a cool concept that needs to be expanded (perhaps it would fit a boardgame?) More ships, powers and such would definitely make this a really interesting strategy turn based game. I would urge you to keep expanding on this idea =D

theseus.f by belickim 2013-05-08T13:00:00

I loved the thread mechanic, simple but super effective in giving the labirynth a cool twist.
The graphics are pleasing to the eye, it has humor. It's a pity there is no sound (at least for me).

<spoiler>Those mice xD tricked me into choosing the chainsaw</spoiler>

Ludum Dark by Zampi 2013-05-17T23:44:00

One of the most surprising entries in this compo. Fantastic multiplayer concept, with a great visual presentation. If I have to nitpick, I'd say that the audio was a little too bright and crisp (actually had to put the volume down for a moment!)

Pixel Arena by Curlystraw 2013-05-19T10:35:00

It's a well done game/simulation, a visual experience by itself. Good and fun concept!

Pato Loco by fermcg 2013-05-08T11:09:00

I played the windows version. I loved the touch in the entry menu, it was a nice minimalist tutorial =).

Existential Journey Into The Abyss Of Self Actualization And Peace by MCovert 2013-05-19T10:30:00

Funny simple idea, with a good mood. Reminds me o old Atari games. My only fairly major complaint would be the phasing blocks, which were a pain in the ass to figure out! Congratulations on your submission!

Desaturation by alfie275 2013-05-09T19:15:00

I like the Mondrian-like style.
The things I missed were a tutorial and a background tune =).
Good job

"" by davidpeter 2013-05-19T10:39:00

I loved the graphics and overall mood, all very warm and fuzzy. Those moths are really evil looking! Aside from some animation problems, this game ran smooth. Hope to see you next LD!

Phlux by vrld 2013-05-09T19:08:00

I love simulation games. =D
Good job, it feels very polished, and the most impressing thing is that it was made in 48h.

Casino by AyCe 2013-05-09T21:39:00

=) while it didn't fit the theme I this is a cool idea and I had fun playing it.
It reminds me of a serious game "Spent".

FvOOM by spolvid 2013-05-20T15:26:00

I've just finished playing a very similar entry, both used the audio as a feedback for the pacing, the main mechanic was to avoid obstacles, but like this one better. The design, the epilepsy warning were a thoughtful way to incorporate humorous elements, the music was also dynamic, the background colors felt fresh.
Good job!

PlayIt! by RawBits 2013-05-17T23:31:00

Managed to finish it on my third try! It is a cool challenge perhaps appropriated for children to learn and train their ear. Cool idea and execution, the only thing I would add is after we complete each level, we could hear the melody so far.

Screaming Cubes by Shigor 2013-05-18T11:07:00

I loved the way the camera movement and the ship's controls, they feel very realistic! Good job.
The audio was prety sweet too. =D

Essense by Jorjon 2013-05-19T10:27:00

The jumps were tricky it took me some effort and I couldn't finish, but I watched the walkthrough afterwards (I didn't score any less because of my inaptitude =P). Overall the ethereal aesthetics created a very poetic mood. It also hit the spot with the theme.

Drug Hunt by kill0u 2013-05-08T16:32:00

Got 408. Not sure if that's ok. xD
It's really fun.

Drug Hunt by kill0u 2013-05-10T00:09:00

@kill0u after your explanation it all made sense, now I'm tripping a lot better. =D

Battery by onzephyr 2013-05-08T15:10:00

This was really creative. Loved it =D

Essence by Make A Game 2013-05-08T15:08:00

Thank you so much for your feedback, it means a lot.
Essence was by far our most difficult entry, after taking a break for two editions.
Actualy we didn't even want to see the game again after submitting.
This wasn't the game we started with, we changed entirely the game midway(48h left), we spent the 24h changing 3 times the engine (Haxe, Flashpunk, Flixel), we had loads of problems with motivation.
We're working on our post mortem =).

Thank you again for helping us liking a little more our game:
onzephyr ; matthias_zarzecki ; oatsbarley ; SuperlevelSebastian ; _Rilem ; MinionStudios ; hissssssssss ; WiseGAMER ; Kristofer Parsons

Essence by Make A Game 2013-05-18T12:15:00

@CiderPunk I'm glad you liked the artistic vision.
The collisions aren't perfect, but there are invisible barriers that can only be seen on the reflection. =P

Squares by KunoNoOni 2013-05-20T15:19:00

The audio gave a really nice feedback on the pacing of the game. =D Nice and simple. Good job!

Engage by danpm 2013-05-08T16:42:00

The concept is pretty cool ^-^. This must have been very challenging to do in 48h. GZ

Flee: The Daily Adventures of a Springtail by Goodlookinguy 2013-05-17T23:37:00

This is a cool take on the theme. Good job with keeping things simple and "minimal"!

LD29 — Beneath the Surface

ScubaBear by _Rilem 2014-05-03T20:07:00

Fun as hell! Found all the treasure but still wanted to explore a corner of the last area, oh well. This reminds me of that unreleased game, Treasure Bear.

our god lives underground by Andrew Shouldice 2014-05-19T14:11:00

Visually striking, liked it very much. Great work.

Delve by conormn 2014-05-03T16:26:00

So short! I finished it in a minute and was left wanting more. Pretty cool.

But one thing that I don't understand. I followed your development and saw that you made an empty compo submission, but then you finished the game after the first 48 hours? Shouldn't this be a Jam submission?

Deep Diver by Valandre 2014-05-03T21:16:00

Amazing game! Plenty of personality and polish. One small note, the game was a bit too tall for my monitor, I took some time to notice the last row with the two treasure chests.

The Sun And Moon by managore 2014-05-19T22:59:00

Bloody amazing! It's nearly perfect, the controls are extremely responsive but the music felt a bit repetitive halfway through it.
I just didn't enjoy the screen shake upon death during repeated mistakes.
Beat every level, some really needed a lot of dexterity. When I reached level 20 I was wondering how more was there.
Solid concept, congratulations!

Dig Hard by petey123567 2014-05-15T23:29:00

Holy crap that was awesome. Pretty fast paced and that LASER RIFLE!

Please Come Back by PapyPilgrim 2014-05-15T23:08:00

A mouse with auto scroll would really come in handy here. :D

SUNK by GeorgeBroussard 2014-05-03T14:15:00

128.6s
Took me some time to understand the the "waves" happen when the water goes up and down, since it's all a straight line.
Pretty fun for a game about drowning!

Beware The Balrog by hadesfury 2014-05-03T14:08:00

Fun multiplayer game but some of the collisions were randomly propelling us back and we couldn't tell if the blocks were different or not.

UNDERQUEST by Tweak 2014-05-03T19:07:00

I was going through the rooms so quickly that only at the third I realized there was a time limit. Great mix of puzzle and action, congrats!

Digging up Daisy by Cake&Code 2014-05-03T17:33:00

Great art style. Rolled my eyes at the "your princess is in another castle" stab, and I don't mean that as a negative thing. Nice work!

Oh My Oilrig! by manabreak 2014-05-05T18:20:00

Seems like a good base for something fun! Nice work for 48h

Dwarven Kingdoms by kristof 2014-05-03T17:01:00

Nice simple strategy game, easy to play when you actually see the mechanics working. Congrats!

It Came From The Sewer by Catman 2014-05-03T17:43:00

Great game, I just wish the way the aliens turn when reaching a wall wasn't so random.

Under the Sea by Luis Anton 2014-05-03T16:16:00

I ended up with so many jellyfish that they were making love and fighting at the same time and then I was too late to take a screenshot because the game over screen clears all of them. Wish there was a better feedback on the swipe with a the mouse, but overall it was fun and functional.

Hare's Harvest by mtrc 2014-05-03T00:37:00

What a pleasant game, loved the simplicity of it.
I was really enjoying it until the game locked when I pressed space instead of pressing R to restart on a game over screen. But I'll definitely play the rest later.

Seven Souls by BrothersT 2014-05-03T16:41:00

Could you please be a bit more clear in the description of what the player can or can't do? Because I pressed every key and clicked a bunch and could only move the ghost that's under the surface. Can't even float up.

Dolphin Dash by Zccc 2014-05-03T12:25:00

That swordfish is an asshole! The octopus attack was a cool idea.

Wormhunter by Thorig 2014-05-03T22:26:00

Yeah! I control the spice now!

Friend of the Fisherman by rubna 2014-05-03T14:20:00

That moment when I realized that swordfish could cut my air hose, oh boy! Great game!

Manliest Man : Manly Fishing by omgnoseat 2014-05-03T16:11:00

Really funny and plays well. Could have used more fish coming from the left side to make it easier to boost between them and jump out of the water for some more manly tricks.

Beneath The Sea by renatopp 2014-05-03T21:02:00

Nice twist on the Deep Scan.

Beneath The Sea by renatopp 2014-05-03T21:03:00

*type of game.

Fragment by rxi 2014-05-03T15:50:00

Interesting submission. Shame that it's very hard to find the rest of the story and make sense of it.

FedIt! by zedutchgandalf 2014-05-15T20:10:00

So tiny and hard.

The Evil Tentacles! by Wuhao 2014-05-03T17:07:00

When I read the Eaten score at the bottom I thought I had to catch tiny drowning people with the kraken's mouth. Fun game.

Kalahari Babysitter by TijmenTio 2014-05-03T13:28:00

10350! I'm the best babysitter ever! Amazing game!

Wriggle Worm by gikdew 2014-05-15T22:30:00

Nice, I think you could ramp up the challenge by adding some collectibles.

Space Driller by Mr. Jif 2014-05-15T23:02:00

Great Genesis-sounding music! It wasn't a problem for me, but the passageways should have the same destroyed rock sprite on both sides so that the player doesn't mistake an exit for a wall. Loved it!

Colony 31 by Crazi456 2014-05-03T01:17:00

A bit buggy and the mech drill was underused, but the concept for this puzzle game is promising. Shame that the narrator mumbles a bit.

Topsail by Devon 2014-05-03T20:11:00

Really like the look of it. Top water!

Series Of Choices by joe40001 2014-05-15T20:57:00

The camera takes some time to catch up with the player but good job with the rewind mechanic.

Mine Story by donan 2014-05-15T23:47:00

A bit tiresome to click every time, but it's a solid entry.

The Underkeep by DaanVanYperen 2014-05-03T16:34:00

Needed some better instructions and feedback of what can do what, and you get overwhelmed pretty quickly. Good job though!

Octopus ! by Monoquartz 2014-05-03T15:27:00

I really liked the game but the controls worked against it, constantly tapping Up to jump over the water got tiresome quickly. Though everyone is praising them, so I don't know if I got a bug or something.

Obolos by TeamEagle 2014-05-03T18:02:00

I also didn't find anyone in my playthrough. Would I be able to communicate with them by using the phrases I picked from the lanterns? That would be pretty interesting. Great atmosphere.

AHH LAVA! by Dreii 2014-05-15T21:47:00

Safe and 25 bubbles! Pretty cool!

Beneath Wireframe by Manuel Magalhães 2014-05-03T12:17:00

At first I didn't even see the tiny dot. I also got huge lag between mouse movement and dot movement. Shame that these technical problems hinder what could be a really fun game.

Lost Sheep by Boneloaf 2014-05-03T13:59:00

Escape DOES NOT open a menu. All that progress lost, like sheep in a cave.
Then I got back to what I assume was the final room, from the white light coming from the exit, and got stuck in the geometry.
It's also really hard to tell where some jumps will take you with some of the camera angles.

Regardless, this is a pretty fun entry and the ambiance is spot on.

Delve Into the Deep by frogcheese 2014-05-05T18:30:00

Great! Liked the progression, would be great if you could improve on even more to do at bigger depths, more upgrades and more things to discover/avoid.
Very good all around :)

DIVE by Lars Faust 2014-05-03T14:31:00

Really cool arcade game and loved the graphics. Unfortunately it only accepted input from the Right Ctrl and none of the Shift keys worked to bring the sub to the upper layer. I almost missed the Q and E controls in this page, those should have been the defaults.

Balancitos by NickZangus 2014-05-03T15:56:00

Pretty fun and funny. A bit hard to understand the amount of "damage" you can take until the island goes down, but really liked it.

Beneath The Lab by Techblogogy 2014-05-15T23:17:00

I'd remove the bar on top, it just slows down the game, particularly when you already have the solution in your head. I lost my patience when I keep trying to use the right mouse ability and it was just enough to drain the bar and not warp me.
Good concept thou, you should elaborate it further.

Mine Explorer by Joe Williamson 2014-05-03T16:02:00

I was really looking forward for more diverging paths, oh well. Everything looks great.

Driller Rush by Serk 2014-05-03T01:01:00

A bit hard due to some unfair random generation, kind of like in the third image you submitted, though I enjoyed the funny context.

By the way, I also kept getting the directions mixed. The drill is moving down so when I wanted to steer right I kept pressing left.

Hive by derdragon 2014-05-03T17:16:00

Not sure what's crashing the game, at first it was after I spammed the Tab key, then I was spamming the quills attack when the 3rd wave was announced. Shame because I was having a lot of fun. I'd like to see more of this.
Remember, the rules allow you to fix game breaking bugs.

Moon Harvest by sharpcoder 2014-05-03T20:58:00

Pretty cool. Got caught by surprise by the planet that keeps you from orbiting around it on my first go.

The Devil's Magnificent Return by davidc02 2014-04-29T14:20:00

Nice to see someone using the Devil/Hell for the theme interpretation. The art is great, I wish it would last longer, though :) Good job!

Dr. LOVE by Cell 2014-05-03T19:19:00

The rules were a bit confusing and there wasn't much time to understand them before getting damaged. Plays well and is very interesting visually.

Hair Spirit Adventure by messthem team 2014-05-15T23:20:00

Woah those hairy things look trippy!

Olm by Pfeyffer 2014-05-04T17:34:00

Liked the graphics. Didn't quite understand if I was doing something wrong or the process of aiming for a stalactite is somewhat random.

Underground by Nnoel 2014-05-03T18:47:00

I'm amazed that you were able to make this game in 48 hours, but in my book it's not cool to clone unreleased games. http://www.indiedb.com/games/shovel-kings

Anyway, the gameplay is functional but lacks a lot of feedback and visual flavor.

No Eyes Willy by blockbot 2014-05-15T23:25:00

Pretty fun, I just don't like the rule that Willy always turns left after he climbs a ladder. Would make more sense if he kept heading the way he was going before the ladder.

Beneath The Surface by adamwoolridge 2014-05-03T10:28:00

Nice concept, we did kind of the oposite for our game hehe. Liked the overall presentation and the gameplay was fun and simple. Maybe the camera/planet rotation could have a bit of movement friction when you let go of the directional buttons before it returns to it's natural self rotation, just to give a cool feeling when changing directions :)

To Surface by NeithR 2014-05-15T23:26:00

Haha pretty clever entry.

DUNGEON DUNGEON DUNGEON by urisensei 2014-05-03T12:41:00

Looks great but is there more to do once you get the wizard staff?

It's a bit cumbersome to open the inventory to select the sword to break vases and then open it again to select the gems to open the doors, specially when there are so many free keys and I still had to move one hand away from the controls to press I.

Overall, I'd be interested in seeing more of this.

Cave-In Jumpin' by BasselGaming 2014-05-03T20:14:00

Cool base idea, I'd love to see you explore the mechanics a bit more. Great debut!

Cave-In Jumpin' by BasselGaming 2014-05-03T20:16:00

Giving the character a pickaxe is deceiving, since you can't do anything with it. The movement was a bit floaty, if you'd make it a bit more responsive and made the rocks gain velocity when falling, you'd have a pretty cool fast paced game. Good work nevertheless!

The Westport Independent by Double Zero One Zero 2014-05-03T18:40:00

Great entry, reminds me of Lucas Pope's Republia Times. All it was missing was the sound of someone smoking cigarettes like a chimney and the atmosphere would be complete.

Kill or Kill by GreatBigJerk 2014-05-15T20:07:00

Whoops, I guess I should have waited for more objectives before going around and killing everyone. :D

SkyManta by snickersnacks 2014-04-30T23:21:00

Really liked the mood you set but i felt frustrated by not being able to reduce/increase my speed at will to navigate easier and aim better. Fun nonetheless

Geology Rocks by theengineers 2014-04-30T15:48:00

Nice mechanics, levitation included hehe
My biggest problem with the game was the lack of guidance to the level finish

FoxyTank by matthias_zarzecki 2014-05-15T20:01:00

Very impressive for something made in few more than 24 hours. More enemies should have made it a bit more challenging. I like the small details like the separate tire tracks and light shafts.

DRAANG by Magdev 2014-05-03T18:57:00

Goddammit, only you two can release a nonsensical game and make me like it so much.

COVERUP by SFBTom 2014-05-15T22:22:00

Pretty clever idea, congrats! The music was pretty cool too.

Billy Bigdigger by 01101101 2014-05-03T20:27:00

It's a shame that the game doesn't randomly generate more levels, you'd have nearly complete product right here! Also, was that dynamite that you could plant with the left option?

The Leeway Brothers' Bohemian Debut Of A Lifetime by Jwatt 2014-05-03T13:39:00

That corgi can't handle all that jazz that I was jammin'.
Pretty cool, and I'd easily listen to that song for hours on loop.

Orbital Burrow by Make A Game 2014-04-29T16:03:00

Sorry everyone, we're adding the game instructions as planned. Pop back in a few days so you can take full advantage of all the bug fixes we're working on. Thank you so much for playing the game!

Orbital Burrow by Make A Game 2014-05-02T21:52:00

Thank you everyone for playing! I hope you liked it enough to try it again since we finally fixed a bunch of bugs!

Menus are now accessible, screen now shakes, particles finally work, and we ported the game to HTML5!

Have fun!

Orbital Burrow by Make A Game 2014-05-03T12:20:00

@sharpcoder & @renatopp: We got the How to Play screen working now! :)

@Nimmrod: Yep, we'll be looking into tweaking all those numbers for a post Jam version.

@LukeZaz: It might have been because of an input buffer we had when you'd be able to do element combinations, which was on when it should have been off, since the combos aren't implemented.

@Jod: Our plan was to give the player the power to combo elements to create natural disasters and terraform the planet slices. We got too ambitious. :D

@MrShoestore: Actually, we just found a bug in the HTML5 version that keeps the game from resetting properly. Might have been be that. Sorry!

@BrothersT: Good point, we forgot to add the sound for when each button is ready to be used.

@borrismoose: Yeah, it needs a lot of balancing, right now the drills just keep on spawning faster and faster until they hit a fixed speed value. Our best time is around 6:40 but we kept losing to that dumb invincible drill bug.

This really needed some instructions. A way to kick out people in line would be great too, since I spent 5 minutes with a full storage and not being able to build or sell anything.

The game is pretty cool anyway and I'd love to play a post-LD version.

Not sure if the slow speed is intended, but it seemed like the game lagged a lot. Very challenging but fun.
