LD28 — You Only Get One

The One - A Tale of Bliss or Sorrow by ploogle 2013-12-16T19:03:00

I didn't find my soulmate, much like real-life. Awesome ambiance and very existential :)

LD29 — Beneath the Surface

Ad Astra by Cosmologicon 2014-05-01T18:48:00

Quite fun! I found the level design a bit frustrating, but at the same time, the challenge of it hooked me in! This has quite a long story, and it's staged quite interestingly. Overall, nice job!

Water SkiFree by OddballDave 2014-04-28T04:53:00

Interesting gameplay mechanic and theme usage. Pretty neat!

bts by hampa 2014-04-28T05:03:00

Well done! This was an amazing entry. Possibly the most unique interpretation of the theme I've seen so far and definitely a crazy awesome game mechanic. It could use some more polishing, but it's a great idea nonetheless.

Get The Bone by kasarun 2014-04-28T21:40:00

Very cool. I loved the animation and music!

Hare's Harvest by mtrc 2014-05-01T15:11:00

Nice job. You had a lot of levels, which is impressive for only 48 hours. And I like how it keeps escalating. Well done!

Bombe !! by delanghe 2014-05-02T14:45:00

Interesting concept. I quite liked the idea, however, I would suggest not using something like Atanua next time. It's for-pay and probably not something you can bundle with your game submission. This makes it really hard for people to play.

Manliest Man : Manly Fishing by omgnoseat 2014-04-28T05:11:00

It looked fun. I Wish I could play it, but unfortunately my computer only has a keyboard :D

Crustacean Farm by LandoSystems 2014-04-29T04:17:00

Nice job! I played this game for quite some time, it's strangely addicting! I do think it could use a bit more feedback, because it took me at least 4 days before I figured out that the people actually wanted specific things! I was originally hoping if I gave them enough stuff they would all just go away :)

Tenkosei ROBO by radmars 2014-05-01T17:47:00

Amazingly well done. It's a hilarious story that is nicely presented and has a lot of polish. Fantastic take on the theme!

An Ode to Violence by Benn 2014-05-01T18:08:00

A nice entry, for sure! I would have liked to see some indication of my health (or maybe it was there and I didn't get it?) but overall, a super addicting game! Great job.

To Hell by tylerb1 2014-04-29T20:20:00

I actually quite enjoyed playing this game! I made it to the second boss and died. Very cool.

Substratum by Ian MacLarty 2014-04-28T04:58:00

It took me a while to understand what was going on, but that's understandable for a Ludum Dare entry. Once I got the hang of it though, my mind was kind of blown. This is a really unique idea. Great job!

The bunker game by hansolox1 2014-04-29T20:25:00

Very simple and fun!

Under Warranty by kidder 2014-04-29T03:20:00

Neat game! It did take me forever to see that green button (still not sure what it says!) because of the Unity "Development Build" watermark. But once I figured that out, it all made sense.

My only real suggestion would be to add some blurb about who is doing the talking :) it was a little confusing to follow the dialog at times. Great interpretation of the theme though!

My Little Secret by Thein 2014-04-28T03:06:00

This is where mommy sleeps. This is where mommy sleeps. This is where mommy sleeps. This is where mommy sleeps. This is where mommy sleeps.

Trench War by Deity 2014-04-29T03:30:00

Interesting way to use the theme! The AI was a little frustrating, but overall nice idea :)

Bob by grayhaze 2014-04-28T20:31:00

Cool idea! Too bad it is unfinished, it would have been quite fun.

StromnetZ by Moosefly 2014-04-29T20:41:00

I really like the tutorial option! Very nice.

May I help you? by flavio 2014-05-02T15:12:00

Fantastic game, I had a lot of fun with this one. It's a hilarious premise. Nice job!

Small sacrifice by Kragnir 2014-04-28T20:37:00

I have died so many times. Haha, difficult but quite fun :)

Mermaid Scientist Massacre by pancakecity 2014-05-01T15:15:00

Funny concept, I love it! It's definitely a unique take on the theme - nice job.

Giant Pumpkin by EpaceGames 2014-04-28T04:16:00

Wow, one of the first games I genuinely had fun with! Great job and an awesome take on the theme.

Somalia by Tomski 2014-05-01T14:58:00

Amazing job, the polish is just stellar! The graphics are beautiful, the theme was nicely integrated, and the sound was top notch. My only suggestion would be to consider giving the players a bit of time to float around during the start of each level, so we can prepare for battle as opposed to just being in battle. But that's just a nitpick thing, overall this was a fantastic entry. Well done!

Me & My Metal Detector by WeaselZone 2014-04-28T21:46:00

Great game! Fun and addicting! :)

Atoms - Literally beneath the surface by Anny 2014-04-29T02:51:00

This is a really clever usage of the theme and I absolutely love how you've represented valances. I took a (single) chemistry class in college, so I didn't necessarily /learn/ anything new. However, this game has a lot of potential on a conceptual level. Nice job!

Moon Harvest by sharpcoder 2014-04-28T05:47:00

@Nitrion - Wrapping the ship is a great idea, I can't believe it never occurred to me. Thanks for playing.

Moon Harvest by sharpcoder 2014-04-28T15:24:00

@Miltage - When I envisioned the game originally, it was much less similar to FTL than one might think. But my implementation is an entirely different story... I do admit that I was inspired by their interface a little. Thanks for your feedback!

Moon Harvest by sharpcoder 2014-04-29T18:02:00

@Deity - Thanks for the info, I have updated my description accordingly. I don't think that bug falls under the "typo" category as it's probably an intrinsic problem, so I don't plan to be fixing it for the compo. Thank you for playing though!

Moon Harvest by sharpcoder 2014-05-19T15:44:00

@biscuitdough - The planet map was basically a hand-tessellated hexagonal grid which was used as a canvas upon which with multiple different planet textures were drawn to. The planets weren't necessarily the same size, which is probably why it looked different sometimes :) Also it gets "eaten" away differently based on where your missile hits.

Thanks for playing it!

29 Leagues by Nition 2014-04-28T05:23:00

Awesome game. I liked the perspective aspect the most. The introduction "dive" is really cool.

Escape the Segfault by spartangeek 2014-04-29T15:00:00

Interesting concept. I would suggest refining the jumping mechanic as it was a bit frustrating :) Also, the game seems to freeze after dying - so perhaps a button to restart? Still, it's a cool idea for the theme!

Save your tribe! by FrameMatt 2014-04-28T03:30:00

Nice job!

We Grow by porousnapkin 2014-04-28T05:36:00

Fantastic game! Wow. It's so conceptual and avant-garde. I had a lot of fun playing it. Excellent job.

Kill or Kill by GreatBigJerk 2014-04-28T02:24:00

HAHA great game! I was going to do something similar, but changed my mind. You implemented it well!

Abstraction by cr2crstudios 2014-04-28T05:18:00

Really awesome concept. I liked the code comments :)

Airport Security Screener by SevenKingdomsSurvivors 2014-04-29T20:09:00

Very nice! The items are a little hard to see but very cool idea and quite fun!

Drowning in Problems by Notch 2014-04-29T18:00:00

This was amazingly introspective. Possibly the most unique take on the theme this go-round. Very impressive. I think I spent more time with this entry than I did with any other.

SPACESHIP WIZARD by biscuitdough 2014-04-29T15:07:00

Lol, I actually really liked how silly this game was. Despite being based on a funny concept, it didn't actually feel too rushed - which was nice. Good job! The controls were incredibly frustrating, but I guess that's part of the allure, as it kept me hooked for a while :)

Cave Harrier by madjackmcmad 2014-04-28T02:31:00

Great game! Surprised it goes on for so long, great job.

Orbital Burrow by Make A Game 2014-04-29T03:53:00

Amazing game! I had to actually read your listing before I understood what was going on, so perhaps some kind of in-game instructions would be nice. But man, I really love this entry. Fantastic job, and it looks beautiful.

Arctic Antics by Miltage 2014-04-28T04:45:00

Great job! It's short, sweet, and elegant. I love the interesting gameplay mechanic.

LD30 — Connected Worlds

Connect with the Dirt by Larzan 2014-08-25T02:28:00

Interesting puzzle mechanic! It was a little unclear how it all worked and by the time I figured it out, I blocked the path to the rest of the map! haha. Overall, pretty cool interpretation of the theme. Nice job!

War of The Worlds by FelipeTavares 2014-08-25T04:04:00

I had a hard time understanding what to do in the game, but I think with a bit more polish it could be fun. The movement + clicking gameplay was unique!

Hell On Earth by CryoGenesis 2014-08-27T17:29:00

This is really fun.

Dust by alycarter 2014-08-25T05:10:00

Awesome game. The intro was a tad too long, but still a cool way to conceptually show what's happening. After I died (and maybe pressed space), my sun started going off screen forever. Other than that, it is a neat idea and nicely executed. Good job!

Colorshift by Andrew Adams 2014-08-26T19:53:00

Very unique and fun game idea. Great job!

Gorilla Jams Space by cinnamonmelonpig 2014-08-25T05:18:00

Oh my god, this is so awesome! I wish you had a bit more time to fully develop your game, but even without, it's pretty sweet!

Light Year Wars by nicotuason 2014-08-25T21:08:00

Amazing game. I had a lot of fun with this. It's actually pretty engaging.

Arktrail by DaanVanYperen 2014-08-26T19:45:00

So far I've caught a Firefly reference and a Galaxy Quest reference. I'm sure there are more :) Nicely done! Though it feels like my crew has a strong propensity for dying. Very fun nonetheless.

Last Call For Magrathea by nintendoeats 2014-08-25T03:46:00

Nice game! The UI mechanism was pretty unique and may be something that could be polished up. Especially because items seemed to become unreachable due to their scaling (as you pointed out already). Otherwise though, cool concept. Good job! And I liked the intro.

Orbital Kombat by Adjotur 2014-08-25T02:39:00

+1 for recognizing pluto as a planet :D This is a cool concept, though I found the controls really hard to master. And I kept getting stuck in the CPU. Fun idea, nice job!

Connector by TeamEagle 2014-08-26T19:21:00

Amazing game. Really fun! This needs to be made into a mobile game I think :P

Universe of Color by Elforama 2014-08-25T04:55:00

Finally! A game that rewards you for smashing things together :D nice job. It would be cool with a bit of background music and maybe some sound effects.

Ludum Galaxy 64 by AtomicVikings 2014-08-26T00:28:00

This has a really nice feel. I love the controls. I especially like how leaving a planet requires you to at least achieve some kind of an elliptical orbit first (or that's what it feels like). And I noticed the potato salad was over 9000 :) Overall, nice game! I think it could be improved with some better balancing and maybe missions or something. Neat idea though.

Lunaform by disdanes 2014-08-25T03:50:00

Interesting idea, but I agree that it would be nice if the stars could fall a bit faster :) unique interpretation of the theme though!

fyuse by cy4n 2014-08-25T02:50:00

The movement is really satisfying! Nice concept :)

Disconnected Society by jormungandr 2014-08-25T04:24:00

The mini game concept was interesting, but they could have used a bit more polish to make them entertaining. The story definitely fit your theme of disconnected society, nice job.

These Cosmic Chains by ploogle 2014-08-25T03:07:00

Hey I know you! Cool game, I love the music and I especially like the death quotes. After escaping the initial burst, though, it seems like some of the asteroids stop spawning and you can get pretty far away from the sun. My only suggestion would be to make it a bit faster. Nice job!

Heaven or Hell by EMAK 2014-08-25T19:08:00

God really needs to figure out a better sorting system! But I digress, this was a hilarious game. Amazing art, good amount of challenge, and fun gameplay.

Tethernum by Eigen 2014-08-25T23:27:00

Really fun game! Nice job.

LyftOff! by mcapraro 2014-08-25T03:12:00

Beautiful graphics and smooth movement! Fun take on the classic memory matching game. As a suggestion, maybe you could consider making it time based or something? Overall, well done.

Worldly Traveler by MrTedders 2014-08-25T05:25:00

This looks like a cool game! But that walking sound... Anyway, I couldn't figure out what to do :( I went to the gems and the launch button just kept making explosions and I couldn't seem to interact with the environment. And once I was outside, there was no coming back! I think an instruction page would be a good idea. But I love the style of your game and the eerie, mysterious, otherworldly vibe it has. nice job :)

Abstrakt by ViliX64 2014-08-25T03:02:00

Cool idea, the game worked for me just fine. As a suggestion, a bit of polish would have been nice because the high contrast was a little hard on the eyes. But still, it's a fun entry. Great job!

Universal Charger by NickMakesGames 2014-08-25T02:45:00

What a fun game! I loooove what you did with the menu screen. The controls were pretty touchy, but it was fun nonetheless. Good job!

Double Take by mrjohnson22 2014-08-25T03:57:00

I like how unforgiving this game is. It's pretty intense and I think it has a lot of potential. Too bad you didn't get the time to add more levels. Nice job!

Parallel Island by alastairbreeze 2014-08-25T02:34:00

Really awesome! I love the concept, it's a pretty cool take on the theme. The music is quite nice too. Good job! My only suggestion would be for a bit of direction. I wasn't exactly sure what to do and almost died before I realized I was the one teleporting people between worlds!

Space Vikings by sharpcoder 2014-08-25T03:34:00

@burgerdare Oi! I tested it in IE, Chrome, and Opera. I figured that would be good enough. Guess I was wrong :) Thanks for letting me know, I've already uploaded the patch.

Processed Goods by Ervin 2014-08-25T05:48:00

OMG This game is amazing. I love how you the music is worked into the gameplay. Very clever. Very well done.

Gravity: Connected Worlds by Seraphic Media 2014-08-25T04:16:00

Nothing like a good clicker game. I could play these types of games forever, and I love the fairly unique way you've implemented the clicker mechanic. Definitely not like cookie clicker, but still just as satisfying! I noticed some of the levels didn't have the +50's falling around. That's half the fun :) as a suggestion, I would consider adding those back in. Nice job!

Bond by MagnesiumNinja 2014-08-25T06:31:00

Nice job. I got a bit frustrated with the cave part explaining the secondary button. But this is a great game nonetheless!

Intergalactic postal service by mkochmin 2014-08-25T13:39:00

Okay this is pretty awesome. I didn't realize I could slow down, so I got frustrated at first. But once I realized what was going on - wow! Such an awesome game. Nice job.

LD30 God Game by Khaibit 2014-08-25T05:15:00

Graphics are pretty nice. I would suggest considering an instruction page or something. Cool entry nonetheless!

Warp Pong by Reisn 2014-08-25T04:44:00

For being a pong "clone" it's pretty dang trippy. Nice job! A bit more polish would have been great, but even without it, this is definitely pretty fun.

Solar Buddies by BunkeyInteractive 2014-08-25T23:06:00

This is a cool game. The way I play though, my planets look pretty dorky jumping in groups! Fun game with the right amount of challenge. Good job!

Waterfly Octus by gillenew 2014-08-25T20:55:00

Great game! Quite challenging... I didn't have the patience to get too far, but the art is amazing and it's beautifully well done. I'm impressed with how much it looks like you got in here in such a short time!

The Mean Astronaut by MCPGNZ 2014-08-25T03:22:00

Fun concept! This has a certainly unique game mechanic, so that was pretty cool. Good job!

Worms! and ants by Otopkin 2014-08-25T22:33:00

Nice job! Unfortunately, during the boss fight, my troops decided to randomly stop shooting (even though I tried to issue commands to them, nothing worked) :( so the ants overran us and ruled the worm kingdom hence forth. Oh well, funny story and it is awesome that you fit a whole campaign in during the compo. Nice job!

Starfighter Alliance by fissionmoon 2014-08-25T04:30:00

Ahh I like how different planets come together when you die to offer their services. It is pretty fitting with the theme, though I think some tweaking of the unique abilities of each ship would be a good idea. They seemed to be unbalanced. Overall, nice entry though :)

Inbetween Lands of Grass by From Smiling 2014-08-25T06:00:00

Amazing art. This is a really nice game. Good job!

Think Fast by shico 2014-08-25T04:10:00

Pretty fun for a few minutes of challenge. I like being able to push those turret things down. One suggestion I would make is the scaling, I am pretty sure there were things off screen that I was supposed to see (like the text at the beginning) :) Overall, cool entry!

Breach of Dimensions by ursagames 2014-08-25T04:36:00

This is a pretty cool game, I like the atmosphere. It would be awesome with a little bit of music, but I know all too well how hard that is to shove in 48 hours. Especially with everything else going on. Nice job though!

Tin Can Internet by fserb 2014-08-25T05:02:00

Heh, this is hilarious! It's pretty fun too, nice job! I think your game is actually pretty well balanced.

Orbital Expansion by Eniimal 2014-08-25T18:29:00

I love clicker games, nice! I would suggest adding some more polish for the feedback of clicking. These games get super addictive when you integrate visual feedback. Overall, nice concept! The idea could probably be translated into some kind of a mobile app too. :)

Tangled Chalkboard Planets by Fernando 2014-08-25T04:40:00

You should totally make this into a mobile game! There are similar games, but nothing exactly like this (that I've found anyway). A win condition would be nice, because there was no real indication that things were looping again. Overall, awesome entry! I hope you pursue this more.

LD31 — Entire Game on One Screen

Lord Wars by berkano 2014-12-09T18:55:00

Cool idea!

Talking Heads by ponk 2014-12-08T04:56:00

Very awesome game! It's unclear to me whether or not there is a level beyond the intro text - but regardless of that, it was still a lot of fun :) very unique and theme-relevant! Nice job.

Cat-A-Clyscreen by psychomonster 2014-12-09T19:01:00

Wow! Graphics were great! Challenging, but I really enjoyed it!

S.I.N.E by FloatingGhost 2014-12-08T03:26:00

This is an amazing entry! It's really innovative, awesome job!

Snow Day Tiles by Stipple3D by stipple 2014-12-09T18:26:00

Awesome game!! Very fun!

Follow the screen by SumGato 2014-12-09T17:56:00

Awesome idea, I like it :)

Screen Saver by Vtor 2014-12-08T05:05:00

I love the literal, unique interpretation of the theme. I got to 313 channels :D awesome job!

Snowman Simulator 2014 by sharpcoder 2014-12-08T03:39:00

Thanks for all the great comments! @Pcholt, no, this wasn't started before :) I just wanted to go with snowman regardless of the actual theme. Though I did try to fit the one screen constraint as well. Kind of.

Oscillation by MaddeMichael 2014-12-08T15:56:00

Awesome game! I love the clever theme usage here, haha. This game is frustratingly unforgiving though. Awesome job though, I played it for quite some time :)

The Storage room by besieger1 2014-12-08T03:08:00

Nice Job! I love the graphics though shooting the enemies is sometimes glitched.

Mountain Cam by ElBatanony 2014-12-09T18:22:00

Nice game, very fun!

Snowman Builder by ianb96 2014-12-08T03:14:00

Awesome! This is better than cookie clicker because, snowmen!! :)

Clutch The Crown by Jacob Peltola 2014-12-09T01:14:00

Awesome game! :)

Vanitas by borgi 2014-12-09T18:14:00

Great idea! Love the art!

BoxGuy by KristophTG 2014-12-09T18:53:00

Nice game! I really like the art!

Cardinal Attack by Insality 2014-12-08T04:59:00

Wow, awesome game! I like everything about this. The music, the sound effects, the unique gameplay mechanics. Very well done. After many tries, the best I could do was 21 seconds before rage-quitting though :( very challenging!

TheCubeDude by Thundercake Games 2014-12-09T18:32:00

Other than the camera issue, I thought the game was very fun :)

Oh, rats! by Andrea 2014-12-08T05:19:00

Nice job! Zombie rats is definitely an interesting plot mechanic. Overall, this was a pretty fun entry.

Helga Kills Everything by mutatedsoftware 2014-12-09T05:42:00

Nice job! Fits the theme well and I had fun playing it :)

Bloody Mess by karol 2014-12-08T03:16:00

Sweet! Nice job though it is quite difficult.

Busload! by T1MGames 2014-12-09T18:29:00

Music and graphics were great!

Summoned by jelly 2014-12-09T18:59:00

Fun game! While I did not do very well at first, I had fun playing it and eventually I figured it out but still didn't do very well haha. I liked the challenge though :)

Microscope by johnbrynte 2014-12-08T05:14:00

Sweet, I feel like a shepherd of microbes! Very interesting game, it has just the right amount of challenge I think.

Spacebank Heist by BoxedMeatRevolution 2014-12-09T18:46:00

Nice idea! A little difficult at first but after you get into it, very fun :)

Space Inquisitor by SarahFrisk 2014-12-08T16:12:00

Fantastic job! That was quite fun. You should consider making this a mobile game or something, because I could see certain people spending a lot of time playing something like this (especially if it was more challenging). I loved the subtle space trivia as well - overall, sweet game!

LD32 — An Unconventional Weapon

Leaf Blower by phi 2015-04-21T14:29:00

AMAZING! I love the concept here, it's really great. And I even think this might make a fun mobile game. Also, I am on Linux and it ran mostly fine using Wine, so that's awesome! Except it crashed on the Pig level :( but since my platform is unsupported officially, that's fine. Great job!

Mystical Youth Amy by NIGIC 2015-04-20T02:42:00

Awesome game! I liked the "death" animation for the humanoids.

Type Commander by Latency 2015-04-20T03:17:00

Woot! I got victory! Lightning kept tripping me up though, oy. Neat idea and well executed. I wish it were infinite though :)

Mummy Hates Heroes by ploogle 2015-04-21T17:03:00

Awesome game! I think if you refined the movement, this could be great on mobile. :D

Skyblade by sharpcoder 2015-04-20T03:18:00

The original idea was that the sword destroys the world as you use it, but I couldn't implement it to my liking...

Potato King by davidcmcdonald 2015-04-20T02:46:00

Nice job! The music was a bit repetitive but that's okay. Interesting choice of unconventional weapon, hehe.

Farmer Boy by FerraWare 2015-04-20T02:50:00

Great idea! It took me a while to understand what was going on, but when the point of the game clicked I quite enjoyed it. Clever use of the theme!

Soul Of The Forest by Multiplexor 2015-04-20T03:10:00

Really nice graphics. My favorite part is how health is managed. I love that you lose a part of yourself, literally.

The Song of Aria by sydan 2015-04-20T03:04:00

Whoa! That was such an awesome, creative idea. I made it to the end and had a lot of fun too! Excellent excellent entry.

Braids by luizgama 2015-04-21T14:23:00

Hahaha! That was great. I love the art so much. I didn't quite understand which hair strand my weapons worked in though. But I think with a little bit of refinement, this could make an interesting mobile game :)

Space Cripes 2 by jbasinger 2015-04-20T02:54:00

Fantastic and clever game! Though I got to Level 2 and after I killed all the aliens, it never progressed :( still, great entry!

LD38 — A Small World

Nice game! I really like the idea, it is a pretty unique mechanic and fits the theme really well! I felt like the planet spinner had some kind of trick to know how far you were going to move, but I wasn't able to really figure out what made the planet go fast or slow. But still, love love the idea. Great job!

This is a fun idea! Although the world is pretty brutal haha, losing just 1 battle seals your fate forever. That being said, It is a nice entry :) I would suggest not having the "Return" button end your game (I accidentally clicked it and lost everything). I also agree with @steve-johnson about making more use of the hex grid. But overall, nice job!

Thanks! @alisoncox - that's a great idea! Parallaxing the background would add a subtle but cool effect. @pfeyffer - that would also be a great idea.

I'm planning on making a post-compo version. These are great suggestions, I'll see what I can do :) thanks!

Nice game :) It was a small yet unforgiving world! I would suggest a "health" mechanic so you can have a few chances and then hopefully settle on a "groove". Overall, nice job!

I love this so much!! You have no idea. Although I totally suck at this. Apparently my skill in KSP doesn't translate here :) Fantastic job though. I especially like spacebar to reset. When you're going for "do it right once" that's a pretty natural mechanic. Only suggestion would be to make it slightly easier haha.
