LD27 — 10 Seconds

Puzzle Dash! by Fireblend 2013-08-27T13:15:00

Simple and addictive! The idea to go back to the button and get more time is nice! This is now my game of choise while poo.. commuting. ;)

Quickly, Onwards by drmanitoba 2013-08-27T14:13:00

10 seconds to read that amount of text? I must've been playing on HARDCORE or something :P!

10 Second Tower Defense by BenW 2013-08-29T15:13:00

Very enjoyable tower defense!

Legend of Troll by Christina Antoinette Neofotistou 2013-08-27T15:41:00

Looks and sounds good! Waiting for more levels! All hail the queen!

Usain Bolt Simulator 2013 by danielcmessias 2013-08-27T10:46:00

My only gripe with this is the fact that the hand for the first minigame sometimes gets lost somewhere outside the window, funny compilation of mini-games though, didn't know Usain Bolt lead such an interesting life!

Haraka by gikdew 2013-08-30T10:58:00

A good game overall, can't really say anything that hasn't already been said. Seems like the post-LD version fixed most (if not all) of the problems :).

Taen Saeck by Typedeaf 2013-08-27T10:28:00

Like the others said it starts pretty slow but I didn't really mind that. Fun little game, like a mix of Age of War and Recettear's dungeoneering segments!

Get Out! by LordHellMaX 2013-08-27T14:43:00

Great atmosphere! I really liked that there were no jump scares.

Lawrence Dare Starring In- 10 Second Psychic by Beardbotnik 2013-08-27T12:37:00

Great idea! Nice simple graphics. I really liked the behind the back camera.

Potato Lagoon by rezoner 2013-08-27T17:41:00

This was amazing :D

Whodunit by Nezzhil 2013-08-27T11:07:00

Interesting take on the 10 seconds theme! The game provides quite a challenge too.

Trying to go up/down the stairs and standing at the right spot to pick up evidence was somewhat hard, along with the evidence selection.

Diesel May Care: Quest For The Ten-Second Car by nintendoeats 2013-08-27T20:42:00

This was fun! The idea is great, graphics and sound may need some TUNING... Would love to see more!

GIMP the Tapedeck-Operated Robot by Zuige 2013-08-27T16:20:00

Great idea and a fun game! Not too easy, not too hard.

Ten Second Dungeon by Jimanzium 2013-08-30T11:21:00

Couldn't quite get into it, the jumpiness and the effects (even after turning the scanlines off) made me feel nauseous :(.

The enemies and you could've also been bigger, or maybe the bullets should've been smaller.

Bonus points for the resolution and fullscreen options in the menu!

Royal Defenestrator by BasmanovDaniil 2013-08-30T14:23:00

It certainly was a unique experience! And now I know what defenestration means :P.

Hit'n Eat by AtomicVikings 2013-08-27T18:06:00

Good atmosphere and nice graphics. Solid gameplay.

Game of Throttles by Moosefly 2013-08-27T12:17:00

Thanks for the comments guys! If you can't stomach the gameplay atleast check the outro using the code "THERECANBEONLY1", that way you'll get the full story!

It's really a shame I couldn't make the game play how I wanted and had to change the gameplay in the last hour. It was still a GREAT learning experience and we're looking forward to our next LD!

Game of Throttles by Moosefly 2013-08-28T20:57:00

Download link fixed! Sorry about that ;_;

Game of Throttles by Moosefly 2013-09-22T21:25:00

A late thank you to everyone who played our game. Now we'll definitely have to participate in the next LD too!

Crazy Genetist by ratalaika 2013-08-30T11:08:00

I like these kinds of games, nice take on the idea. As others have also mentioned it could've had a way to make it less luck based, like maybe having a "extra pick" option you get for every X score earned which would let you shuffle for new parts, or maybe a display for the upcoming parts.

Nice game nonetheless!

The Lost Robos by almightyzentaco 2013-08-27T11:36:00

Nice setting and solid gameplay, a tad too hard for me, only made it to "Switchbacks" before giving up.

Ghost Pirate's Ship of Treasures by immanuela 2013-08-30T11:29:00

The game was way too easy :P. The graphics were decent enough and the audio good, gameplay also felt solid and the "risk vs. reward" system was really nice!

Dwarf Wars by Falcon 2013-08-27T11:04:00

A very solid well put together package of dwarven fun!

Evil Tag by Tgwizman 2013-08-27T11:44:00

Reversed controls? Too bad I couldn't find anyone to kill, safe for the "bot" :(.

DynamiTEN by pedroka 2013-08-27T19:08:00

Fun game!

The Pomidor chronicles by crueltear 2013-08-27T12:01:00

The cutscenes were damn great, even made me chuckle a bit :P. Running and gunning took a bit getting used to bacause the character couldn't shoot behind herself.

Save the Stars! by anmorales 2013-08-29T11:48:00

A well done little game!

The 10 Second Never Ending Free Throw Shooting 10 Point Game by sirerr 2013-08-27T12:05:00

Can't run it. Error message:

Data folder not found
Details: There should be 'The 10 Second Never Ending Free Throw Shooting 10 folder next to the executable

I guess this is Unity and you need to include the Data folder it generates?

Mebby by 7Soul 2013-08-28T12:23:00

Good solid game! Not the bees! :D

Traffic Manager by keksdev 2013-08-30T11:56:00

Great game with lots of potential!

Thorvald by FunByJohn 2013-08-27T11:29:00

Great graphics, good gameplay. I'd like to see more of this!

Dark Interval by alexandervrs 2013-08-27T12:30:00

The archive is corrupt for me too, guess I'll wait for the web version or something :P.

Swan Song by Jase 2013-08-27T12:37:00

I think the art is actually pretty good, could definitely be a lot worse. Too bad you couldn't make the game be what you wanted it to be.

Project: "Explosion" by Simple Ghost 2013-08-30T14:49:00

This was absolutely amazing. I personally loved the use of slow motion and its effect on movement, maybe it could've been a bit more gradual or something though with the explosion being the slowest part. Brilliant idea and execution!

Deathbed by airdeck 2013-08-27T12:46:00

I don't know why but the font was super blurry and the characters weren't centered inside the circles making Q and O look exactly the same.

Some EKG beeping would have made the game a LOT more immersing :P.

Pinokio and Juliet 2113 by kibertoad 2013-08-27T13:01:00

Interesting art and character designs! Couldn't really get a grasp on the gameplay and just kicked and punched the enemies randomly :P.

10 Second Card Game by Pluwo4 2013-08-27T14:06:00

Works well for me. I think I see what you tried to do with this one, too bad it was left unfinished. No need to apologize, atleast you tried didn't you!

TRUSTY SWORD by noffle 2013-08-27T13:09:00

The game seems to require Allegro 5.0.

Flight of the Pegasus by kernel panic 2013-08-27T13:43:00

Seems like your goal was quite ambitious, too bad it didn't come to fruition.

Also, Pegasus looks like a dog :P.

Nex by Blunt 2013-08-27T13:35:00

Got pretty repetitive after a while, could've used a boss or some other way of progression (upgrades etc.), that might have required extra time though.

Visuals were pretty neat!

10 Steps to Hell by Morgawr 2013-08-27T12:25:00

This was just amazing! Love it, hope to see more! (THE hardest metal :D)

Matchbox Ten by CaptainFresh 2013-08-27T13:21:00

That last level was pretty darn tough, especially because I couldn't quite understand the physics of that car.

Hype by johnl 2013-08-27T14:00:00

Crashen when you hit "Play" after opening it, works fine using the stage select though.

Interesting tile designs, the maps were a bit too easy though.

LD28 — You Only Get One

One String Hero by dementor561 2013-12-20T01:17:00

I... What? I guess I won it because I killed the big horned dude?

Maybe you should've stuck to one type of gameplay and spent your time perfecting that. At the moment it just felt like a lot of different ideas randomly thrown in.

The Seed by recursor 2013-12-20T13:35:00

The premise is quite similar to our game, but it would seem that our executions differ a lot from each other :P.

I think the text-to-gameplay -ratio could've been a bit better. I think I managed to get the same exact stories as vinull.

Burial by ben 2014-01-02T21:36:00

I don't get it. I don't know if I was supposed to get it. Not much else to say.

The Social Avarice of an Adult Mayfly by Several 2014-01-06T15:47:00

As others have said before me, needs more feedback. Idea was great, execution a bit lacking. Anyway I enjoyed it :D

Sweet Beats by Incredible Ape 2013-12-22T15:37:00

Sweet graphics and a good soundtrack. Would like to see it finished!

Burning Love by Ted Brown 2013-12-22T21:17:00

It's a solid game, but I think the core mechanic of keeping the torch lit could be improved. Somehow. Maybe.

Right now it felt a repetitive just running and jumping and blowing ad infinitum.

Charon by jerombd 2013-12-22T21:30:00

The setting and visuals were interesting. Compered to them, the gameplay could've been better though. At the moment it felt like a warped interactive picture book more than anything. Still, an interesting experience. Good job!

One Element by SimonRhys 2013-12-20T14:10:00

Whoo, mages and skeletons and skeleton mages, kewl! Encountered some bugs too:

1) An enemy spawned on top of the level, I climped there and took a screenshot -> the timestep skipped a tick and I went trough the roof (http://i.imgur.com/O6Js20G.png)

2) I found the ultimate leveling glitch! (http://i.imgur.com/QWSxkLB.png)

The graphics were OK, didn't really care for the audio. The gameplay could've also been a bit more intriguing, but good job considering the time limit. Controls were a bit weird at first (why not use W to jump and move up since you were using A and D to move side to side anyways :D) and I would've liked to be able to aim my magics with the mouse.

The Fate by Nikteddy92 2013-12-17T20:58:00

Pretty simplistic, but atleast you made something. Good for you :P.

Superly Major Questing Adventure Fun Times by john_conder9 2013-12-21T12:18:00

He might have been a potato. :D Brilliant intro. The game itself could use some fixing and polish here and there. Great humor and solid gameplay!

Now You Have [No] One by HD408 2013-12-20T02:03:00

Even though the enemies didn't provide any real challenge, I loved how OP I felt! The audio and graphics are also absolutely wonderful. The technical aspects were also top-notch, thought I would play until may laptop couldn't run it anymore, but even with full upgraded fire rate, 360 FoV and huge range I couldn't make it dip too low :P. In the end I played till level 11 (would've played even further if the difficulty would've gotten harder :P!).

Having 4 characters didn't really add to the game (apart from different specialities and per-character upgrading), since you could just clump the characters together and control them as a single entity :D. If I were to make a similar game I'd just attach each "character" to a space ship as a turret and be a bad-ass star destroyer!

It really felt like a combination of an RTS, SHMUP and an RPG. I really would like to play something like this, but with a lot more variety (powerups (SHMUP) and different upgrades (RPG)) and challenge (more enemies, faster spawn rates, harder enemies)!

Soup Kitchen by hardycore 2014-01-06T13:45:00

From the description and screenshot I would've thought it was an autoscroller.

Stopped playing after trying level 4 a few times, it just required way too much precision. Those RNG fatties didn't help either.

Charcoal by IonProgramming 2014-01-06T14:28:00

The exe didn't work, but atleast the jar-file works. Or atleast it starts. The game did crash after playing for a while (I might've even been close to getting out!).

Walking down was tedious since I couldn't really see ahead of myself, but the game was pretty decent overall. I don't think the "spooky laugh" helped the mood though, just the ambient track (with rats and water drops or something) would've worked nicely imo.

Nice game overall, too bad it crashed.

knife, Gun, Rose, Watch by bowlercaptain 2014-01-06T15:26:00

Couldn't figure it out. Some feedback on the defusing progress would have been nice like others suggested. Only found 2 different ways to die :(.

The graphics and audio are passable considering the fact that it is a Ludum Dare jam game.

Braid 2 by magicdweedoo 2013-12-22T22:29:00

5/5 its ok.

Great parody, not-so-great game.

The Labyrinth of Keys by Martze 2013-12-23T21:56:00

Yeah, link does seem to be broken.

The Labyrinth of Keys by Martze 2014-01-02T21:43:00

It's a shame that you couldn't complete the Jam version. Good job nonetheless.

One Ship Troopers by frogmaster 2014-01-06T14:15:00

Bah, I thought I had it but some of those spaces are just too tight to navigate with this control scheme :P.

You Only Get One Shot by JacksGamesSucks 2013-12-20T15:37:00

15 twice. Not much to say here but good job on finishing!

She: A Game About Life by Hyde Wyvern 2013-12-22T20:45:00

Graphics and audio were great, but I found the gameplay lacking. There was also a good 1-2 second delay on the input (not in the driving part though, but there the collisions and sounds were somewhat buggy).

I also don't know if the game just took ages to start or if pressing enter or something made it start. Tried pressing random buttons and I think enter made it start.

One Button Computer by HacksawUnit 2013-12-22T17:35:00

Absolutely brilliant. :D

You Only Get One Pig by Noah Ratcliff 2013-12-20T03:20:00

Definitely the largest (by file size) Ludum Dare game I've yet faced :P. Best score after four tries was a measly 42 :(.

Good job making the game both fun AND funny, the art was also very nice. Didn't really pay attention to the sounds, but atleast I didn't hate them.

YOGO RocketFist by _Rilem 2014-01-06T15:58:00

Apart from the fact that you couldn't see the enemies all that well when moving up, it felt really polished and complete.

Really enjoyed the graphics and the audio, and the gameplay felt good. This was a lot of fun. Good job.

OP is OP by TeamQuadratic 2013-12-20T00:28:00

The different superpowers could easily be used as an innovative difficulty selection method :P. The game felt a bit floaty from the start which made the time slowing power rather useless, atleast compared to the others!

The sun mechanic felt a bit shoehorned, maybe you should've upped the difficulty trough enemies and other obstacles which wouldn't have interrupted the gameplay as much.

Technically it worked very well, I didn't have any problems with the physics either.

Btw,

Doublejump + glide > Screech > Rock hand > Time slowing

Weird Egg & Crushing Finger by Mase 2013-12-23T13:00:00

Really liked the visuals and the gameplay was very relaxing. Nice change of pace from the other entries.

Servassacre by doonay21 2013-12-17T21:37:00

I just had to play it to see if it really is as hard as everyone else is making it out to be. I guess the best way to describe the difficulty level is to say that after I saw the level 4 "special rules" and the map layout I just closed the game without second thought.

Liked the use of the theme and the whole idea of the game, but in the end it was way too hard to be any fun.

Rune Raider by nyytroh 2013-12-20T00:30:00

The download links seem to be broken :(.

Rune Raider by nyytroh 2013-12-20T03:51:00

Didn't really feel like a puzzle game, because I could get almost the same results just by wandering aimlessly. The mechanics could've used something more, like maybe a goal you have navigate to or something you must collect? Interesting concept nonetheless!

EVA : You only get one... by Lyonsbanner 2014-01-06T15:12:00

Nice little game. Had to sketch the map on a piece of paper to be able to understand the directions :P.

Good job for a compo entry!

Funigtor versus PackSciences : The Pic Pac D'Oh by PackSciences 2013-12-17T17:17:00

It actually froze twice leaving the sound looping, had to kill the process to make it stop. Happened against the hardest AI after we both had placed 3 pieces and made it a draw.

You should've probably made the "Disable sound"-button to activate on a click, not hover :P.

Sure, it is simple game and made with a tutorial, but you made something so congratulations on that! As others have said, aim higher next time ;).

One shot by Jod 2014-01-02T22:47:00

Wow, didn't know you could make something like this with Ren'Py! Very impressive and an interesting game overall. The story was surprisingly good for a game made in 48 hours.

Oneitis by mmickyman 2014-01-02T23:38:00

I don't think I understand The One. Maybe I should've taken the blue pill after all.

Interesting idea, but I didn't quite know how to appeal to her. I guess thats not much of a surprise considering the fact that I am rating Ludum Dare games at 1:37am... Sigh.

Hot Wife: Belarus by Devon 2013-12-29T19:47:00

As stvr already said, most of the time the game seemed to be over after only a single click, making it somewhat uninteresting to play.

Cat Gentlemans Play: Insult Spinner 10 Cents by RobotLovesKitty 2013-12-22T13:22:00

Really enjoyed playing this with a friend, we had a great time.

Aesthetically and technically pleasing, easily the best game I've played so far.

A piece of food by wilpel 2014-01-07T00:39:00

That sure was FAST. Seeing the platforming involved with level 10 made me close the game pretty fast too :P. Loved the "death animation" of the "main character".

Nice little game, good job!

One Strike by tiopalada 2013-12-24T12:43:00

The graphics and audio really complimented the gameplay! I would've loved some more depth in the swordplay though, maybe in the form of feints or different stances or something.

The mood in this game really was top-tier.

The YOLO game by OniiRam 2013-12-23T22:33:00

I don't really like platforming and starting from the beginning after each death was an even bigger slap to the face :P. Well, I came here for the mecha-dinosaur and atleast you managed to deliver there!

YOGOSWAG by Super Hamster 2014-01-07T00:54:00

I sold my first swag for under 4$. Game over. GG.

Like others have mentioned, the GUI could be a lot clearer, but the core idea is really addicting (already proven by Cookie Clicker and similar games too). I also LOVE the fluctuating swag price, it makes the game that much more interesting (especially in the beginning).

Not the most original game out there, but still lots of fun, good job!

One Trick Pony by GreaseMonkey 2014-01-07T01:03:00

The physics were a bit wonky here and there, but it really wasn't anything too bad. Liked the detail on the character, had a little dance party while waiting for an elevator block :P.

Good job.

PS. There are better outlets for your Windows-hate. People would've understood your point just as well without all the unnecessary bashing.

Stock Market Simulator by Moochoomon 2014-01-07T01:34:00

Hehe, got to 8*10^12$ or so, the end screen just displays the maximum value of a 32 bit integer (2 147 483 647). I guess I shouldn't have been able to buy 1*10^9 shares (maybe the max here is also 2 147 483 647) of MeTube at 1$ and sell them the next day for 50$ a pop ;).

Interesting game, although I think I cheated. There could be a lot of depth in this, if you wished to take it into that direction. Good job!

Ninja Theif by Turkey 2014-01-07T00:32:00

As others have mentioned, the game could be a lot faster and there could be more content, but its still very impressive considering the fact that it was made for the Compo. Good job!

One Wing by theholychicken 2014-01-07T01:58:00

Nice and simple game (or maybe an interactive story?). Even got both endings since it was so short.

Good job managing to make something in 10 hours! Didn't really like the installer though.

Candy Runner by AtomicVikings 2013-12-20T15:23:00

She doesn't blink.. She DOESN'T BLINK! All joking aside, this was great fun! The graphics are so sweet! (:D). The parallax scrollingness makes me think of a certain car game from last LD :p The only negative thing I have to say is the key changing could use some rework. changing from f1 to , is challenging and most of the time game ending. Also what code-11 said about changing the key mid jump.

Wild Growth by Moosefly 2013-12-17T05:03:00

Fixed a small bug in the background song fading code, just thought I should mention that. I guess (/hope) that the fix was within the "typo fix" limits.

@olafsworld98: Congratulations on being the first to comment on this magnificent game \o/. We shall honor your achievement by rating your game before any others!

Wild Growth by Moosefly 2013-12-17T21:44:00

Hehe, seems like you underestimated the needs of these special flowers :D. Even though the game requires some extreme mouse handling and priority management, I hope atleast someone gets to see the ending.

I guess the easiest strategy to use is to just let the stats alternate between low and high, all while trying to predict when a certain object will need to be toggled. Damn that does sound pretty hard.

Thanks for the comments everyone and good luck ;).

Wild Growth by Moosefly 2013-12-18T16:40:00

@MrTedders: I agree on the day length, but trust me, you don't want to see the bars! We had them enabled while debugging and it was way harder than with these icons :D.

Wild Growth by Moosefly 2014-01-07T02:08:00

@Several: We offer our humble apologies for the pain and suffering we have inflicted upon you. Too bad that apology awaits at the end of the game, mwahaha! Seriously though, that comment made our day.

Thanks to everyone for playing, rating (low I bet, boohoo) and commenting! I hope we will keep on improving so that our next game is a little easier to grasp, play and rate.

See you next time!

Pinpoint by Brainless Games 2014-01-06T13:36:00

A decent game despite being so simple. Like others have mentioned, more variability would've definitely added to the experience (enemies trying to snipe you, targets taking cover, more feint targets etc).

Follow your skill by Jordo76 2013-12-20T00:06:00

Would've played it, but I got less than 1FPS trying to run it on my C2D P8400 (2.26GHz) + 9600M GT laptop. I suppose it's time to upgrade if I can't even handle simple 2D games anymore!

Luduvikus by JALgames 2013-12-17T17:46:00

That installer was really scary but in the end the game worked well. You managed to make a surprisingly deep game in the short amount of time you had! Good job!

One Match by Tanner 2013-12-17T20:31:00

Bah, I thought I could cheat the wind by going outside the screen, but it didn't work :P. Nice simple game, the music was... interasting.

Monkey Rally by antila 2013-12-22T15:30:00

A nice polished game! Could've been more difficult though. Well done!

You Only Get One Shot: Eminem Rapping Simulator by Afal 2014-01-07T00:20:00

That was a lot of fun, even though the gameplay was too slow and way too easy. Had a stupid grin on my face the whole time :P.

Brave Boy Punches Enemies by CAT_IN_THE_DARK_WOOD 2013-12-24T14:01:00

The gameplay felt somewhat glitchy (short pauses every once in a while) on Pale Moon 24.2.2 X64. Managed to survive for qutie a while despite that.

Gameplay could've been more interesting / fluid but good job nonetheless.

Bugz by Grafter 2014-01-02T21:48:00

As others have mentioned, the game could use a bit more content (enemies, powerups etc.), but the basic foundation is there. Managed to survive a bit over 2 minutes.

Eggcited by intelligentbean 2014-01-02T23:25:00

Like others have mentioned, carrying the egg is quite tricky! Interesting twist to the infinite-runner-genre, would've liked more freedom in the movement though.

--- by Zephyr Raine 2013-12-24T12:35:00

Funny little story, short enough for me to get all the endings too :P. Too bad the princess was a total skank.

Vita by Ludusamo 2013-12-19T23:57:00

I don't know how the other versions play, but the Windows version is _very_ buggy. Might be the timestep acting up; the game played at probably 5 times the intended speed, and I just skipped most of the doors because I found out I could throw the rock over objects that probably should've blocked it. Too bad the game crashed when I threw the rock outside of the playing area :P.

The button state should've also been reseted when the game state changes. I didn't get to read any of the "victory texts" because the game thought I wanted to skip them as soon as they started.

Props for going at it with C++ and SFML ;).

El Tigre Il Assassino by popogames 2013-12-24T13:48:00

That was some intense sniping puzzle-action! Really liked the graphics and the game felt pretty polished already. Good job!

Getting an "Unexpected end of archive" error message in WinRAR when trying to download the Windows version.

The hunter by MrTedders 2013-12-17T21:56:00

For some reason or another I found that I could run trough walls. Or atleast I think they were walls. I'd like to think they were walls. Also the spear alerted the enemies way too easily.

Very tense game, felt a bit "jumpscarey" at some points though.

Red Christmas by Nichii 2013-12-22T14:53:00

Interesting experience, but I still prefer my games a bit more interactive. I'm not saying that visual novels and story driven games can't be great (I enjoyed To The Moon immensely for example), but if I'm going to play a game I usually want to play it, not just watch it :P.

Good luck on your future projects

Unibrow by ViliX64 2013-12-26T19:44:00

A nice enjoyable game! Fun mechanic but a little underused! More levels and more use of the mechanic!

Troika by Polyknight_+_dragonGlitch 2013-12-24T21:04:00

Looks mighty good and some audio would've made the whole experience even better.

The game could've been built around the mechanics a bit more. I think that right now the gravity orb is way better than the other orbs, since the game doesn't really offer many situations were the orbs come in handy.

Nice game despite all that whining, good job!

Roses. by Halfire 2013-12-17T22:11:00

Moving the mouse outside of the game window crashes the game (multi-monitor setup here). You could also investigate objects and have their descriptions appear in the letter screens.

Nice little story, even thought the gameplay itself wasn't all that compelling. Some music and/or sounds would've added a lot to this game.

Tsuba by Daveloper 2013-12-22T19:47:00

Very stylish game audiovisually, but the gameplay wasn't the most compelling.

Bomberanian by chapachapa 2013-12-24T21:14:00

Bomberman? Pffttt, so last season. Bomberanian is where its at!

Nice little game, the gameplay could've been taken a lot further I think (flashy combo text WOOO!).

Pasciwo by lemtzas 2013-12-22T20:56:00

The graphics are nice, but as you mentioned, the game is really broken.

!1 Olly's LSD trip 1! by Peni6 2013-12-23T22:18:00

Got to play it after force-refreshing with ctrl-f5, said that I had already used my one try before even playing it.

Interesting concept, but I think the boss (seen on the 3rd screenshot) was bugged for me, because I couldn't beat him and just got transferred to the minigame before that.

Nature's Howl by louis.denizet 2013-12-20T02:35:00

The idea is pretty similar to that of our game, but the execution, pacing and mood is totally different! It was a rather therapeutic experience, and certainly one of the nicest looking games so far.

It was pretty easy after I covered the whole area of the tree with rats which acted like a shied that prevented the clouds from touching the tree :P.

The Legend of the Jetpack Gentleman With His Freezing Gun Who Only Has One Chance by GBolt 2013-12-23T21:55:00

Only managed to get to 153 points. That was pretty intense.

Looks nice and plays pretty well, too hard for my tastes though.

CYTC (Choose Your Treasure Chest) by tiffi_gaming 2013-12-17T22:16:00

Purple chest is the best chest! All hail the purple chest!

Simple but fun, good job on your first Ludum Dare game!

Choices (Sea Wind) by Striwx 2014-01-06T14:03:00

Had some problems with interacting (pressing space didn't always work) but apart from that it worked nicely.

Solid story, not much of a game as it is though. Definitely moody ;).

Tank Shooter by MrJavaFrank 2014-01-05T04:47:00

This was very enjoyable! I wish there were more levels :P

A Space Game by SerialVelocity 2014-01-07T00:12:00

Audio and a scrolling background would've improved the game a lot, but considering the time limit, it's an impressive package.

The gameplay was pretty solid, but as you must already know, more content would've been great.

The Bullet Time ability didn't really feel right to me either. I'm also accustomed to much smaller hitboxes in my SHMUPS :P.

Good job on your first Ludum Dare project!

Flickeroid by rorycooke 2013-12-22T14:25:00

Really unique take on the theme, too bad the gameplay wasn't as interesting.

The One Ring by Mocuto 2013-12-23T12:49:00

As others have mentioned, there seems to be something weird going on with the hitboxes. Died for no apparent reason a few times. It might have been more interesting had the sprites been bigger.

Snow Day by Ahris 2013-12-23T12:51:00

Still a better game than Dear Esther. Good job.

Mama is Sick by JaymeeMak 2013-12-22T16:27:00

Good game with a well done mood! Very challenging. I liked it and found myself saddened when someone died because I wanted to see everyone survive. Well done! One of the best games I've played! -J

It was certainly something different.

Space Diplomacy - You Only Get One by taocayo 2014-01-07T01:50:00

Hehe, what I lacked in the memory department I made up in sheer mouse management skills. Didn't really have to memorize anything after I fed each of them so quickly :P.

Awesome graphics and an interesting game idea! Oh, andc ongratulations on finishing your first Ludum Dare in one piece :D!

Wedding Rush by olafsworld98 2013-12-17T17:04:00

Worked fine for me and the animations were nice as others have mentioned. Good job finishing your first Ludum Dare game!

Mr.Rect by Mindtricks 2013-12-20T14:58:00

Interesting game for your first try. The controls could've been a lot more polished as others have said. The game could've also been longer and have more variety, but I understand that the time limit can be quite severe.

Maybe you should try with a "lighter" setup next time? SDL (+C++?) isn't the easiest option for Ludum Dare after all!

You Only Get One Derpina by tigerrenko 2013-12-23T22:24:00

The collisions didn't always seem to work the way I wanted them to work, but I still managed to beat it.

Simple game but good job nonetheless!

Get a Job! by Coin Flip Games 2013-12-20T14:01:00

A nice game with a good mood (the background noises were great)! The game was somewhat short so things could've gotten a bit more hectic to add challenge. But I did enjoy it and got the job!

Say Cheese! by osozombie 2013-12-23T22:00:00

Haha, one was all I needed! That did make the game pretty short though :P.

Funny concept and nice graphics, would've loved to have more stages that went up in difficulty (last one would be a whole class photograph!).

A Sewer Story by BuKaneerz 2013-12-22T14:04:00

Interesting graphics, but the gameplay wasn't very good. I liked the concept of protecting the little robot though.

Your Little Pony by martys 2013-12-22T20:32:00

The graphics and ending song(s) more than make up for the simple gameplay. Well done, it made me smile.

Fighter-01 by Thalikoth 2013-12-17T20:44:00

This was really cool! It's just like Tetris and Space Invaders combined like Nardom said. The control scheme really added a strategic feel to the game and it tied to the theme nicely!

Sounds, better graphics, powerups(?), different enemies and the like would all have been cool, but I liked it as is, good job.

Impressive Dog by EricTheCoolDude 2013-12-22T22:19:00

Lovely artstyle, but I could've used some barking and whimpering sound effects. This feels like the beginning of a nintendogs-esque game :P.

Shame on the people wanting guns in this! It's obvious that replacing the dog with a human male is far more important right now. For reasons.

One Button Metroidvania by mokesmoe 2013-12-20T03:05:00

Bah, played for quite long (even got the thingy at the end of the single-block-nightmare-climb) and then jumped down into the lava at the four single block jump part. Of course I had forgotten about the R button and just closed the game thinking I couldn't escape the situation...

Even though I'm not really a fan of platformers, I am intrigued by single button games and this one managed to give the mechanic a run for its money! Well done!

The graphics were really barebones and the game could've used some sound effects and maybe music, but overall I still liked it.

Unicycle Messenger by Sanguine 2013-12-20T04:11:00

I just had to play this, since we also thought about making a unicycle game :D. My only gripes with it are the fact that the camera is a bit quirky (especially when going off-road) and that the physics are a bit wonky (I would've loved to see how a Drag Race Unicycle would've fared against one of those cars!). Good job!

yogo by khahem 2013-12-20T16:27:00

A very nice puzzlegame with simple but effective graphics and sound. Well done!

boom by J 2013-12-26T13:44:00

It was an interesting concept, but the gameplay could use some polish though as others have mentioned :P. The keyboard layout took some getting used to, but it worked pretty well in the end.

Hard Point by LTyrosine 2014-01-06T15:57:00

Hitting enemies was hard but satisfying! I wish there was audio.. Still it was a fun and enjoyable game!

Fantastic Franklin by Stealth 2013-12-22T14:20:00

Not really my kind of game, but the graphics were great and it worked pretty well. Even managed to kill myself by dropping a rock on top of myself.

P.O.W. Rescue by Gameko 2014-01-06T16:24:00

I think I ran into some bugs that made the game way too easy :P. Lovely art though.

Ultimate Wish by Carduus 2013-12-22T20:14:00

Yeah, like others have said the visuals are nice, but the gameplay needs to be improved. For instance a short trajectory display would make it much more enjoyable. Audio would also improve the experience. I think it could make a nice little puzzle game with the correct execution.

Match Girl by DDRKirby(ISQ) 2013-12-26T12:25:00

That was awesome! Gameplay, audio and graphics really came together well to form a nice moody package that was a blast to play. The game also had lots of content for something made in 72 hours.

Maybe procedural geneeration could be used so that people couldn't just restart over and over again until they memorize the layout :P.

You Only Get One Cookie by Rose 2013-12-26T12:04:00

You Windows version is missing the data folder, but the web-version worked nicely.

Cute game indeed, the controls could've been a bit better. They seemed a bit too finicky as they are now.

TabulaQuondam by monkeymad2 2013-12-20T00:51:00

The map drawing does not indeed work on Firefox (well, Pale Moon). Had to download Chrome to play it (the concept was really intriquing!).

Once inside the game, the map was pretty much useless. The fact that you could only see something like 6 meters to each of your sides horizontally, 5 meters vertically and move at a pace of <1m/s didn't really help the experience either.

Haven't been in a sandstorm, it might be somewhat true to real life now that I think about it :P.

M'Lady and The Tramp by Pixelbear 2013-12-20T14:46:00

The transition between different control styles was quite awkward as others have already mentioned. Really liked the graphic style though and the game certainly didn't lack humor.

Chain Attack by yokcos700 2014-01-07T01:45:00

More like a shooting gallery than a game as it is right now, but I did like the different guns a lot. Good job.

Le Artilleur by sanojian 2013-12-22T21:41:00

Interesting little game but it does need something more to give it lasting appeal. Maybe some kind of equipment progression and powerups etc.

Sensory Deprivation by Finn Stokes 2014-01-06T13:55:00

Even though the game was short, I still spent a few weeks locked up inside the house :,(. It seems like text adventures aren't my strongest point.

Interesting game, good job!

TITAN SOULS by Claw 2013-12-22T16:10:00

Neat little game with compelling gameplay and a polished exterior, good job guys! The graphics were neat and the audio complemented the gameplay pretty nicely. I did get bored of the rolling SFX though, maybe a sprint (or atleast a jog) button would've been nice so I didn't have to move by rolling 100% of the time.

The controls were simple enough, but I couldn't quite get used to using Z and X. I kept mixing them up atleast once per boss :P.

Considering the amount of titans in the game, I would've liked for them to be a little bit harder and more varied. Maybe you could've achieved that trough different phases and such that were easier individually but harder as a whole. Even though the deaths themselves didn't feel unfair or cheap (expect for some of the deaths on the brain-thingy, I swear his hitbox is bugged), the run (roll) back to the titans was pretty pointless since there weren't any other enemies. Loved learning the titans' weaknesses and then perfecting the execution.

I do undestand that the time limit also limits the amount of content a whole lot, so good job nonetheless. This could really be something with more varied gameplay, light RPG elements and more content.

superfrozenkittengetsonlyonesecretbottleforyou by evilindiegames 2013-12-22T19:57:00

Interesting game, to say the least. Like others have mentioned, it would be nice to explore the world in an adventure game setting or something!

The dragon journey by strong99 2013-12-23T22:47:00

Unplayable on Pale Moon 24.2.2 (X64) because it jumped between 10 and 25 fps making the jumping completely irrational. Was able to play it on Chrome 31.0.1650.63 m though, but even there the game felt somewhat jerky. The jumping didn't feel right and there indeed were some collision glitches where I would walk against a block and be moved on top of it or could "climb walls" by jumping against them.

The graphics are mostly nice, but I didn't like the mixing of pixellated and fine sprites. Audio didn't add to the game all that much, even though the lightning-part was nicely done.

The basic concept is OK, but the gameplay could use a lot of fine-tuning.

LD29 — Beneath the Surface

Happy Fishing by Vandash 2014-05-01T12:25:00

Now that is INNOVATION. I'll be really surprised if you don't score highly at least on that! Not too interesting as far as the gameplay goes though.

Good night's sleep my ass, I had tears in my eyes goddamnit :P. Really pretty. And moody. And intense. It's solid. Really good job on this one.

I was thinking of going to bed since it's going to be morning soon, but maybe I'll wait until the first rays of the suns light the room up. Or at least gather some additional blankets.

LAIR M.D. by RetroEpic 2014-05-01T12:08:00

Great graphics, sounds and an awesome amount of polish! The game does indeed have a steep learning curve, but after a few practice runs I managed to make it to where I had to diagnose 10 goblins. Prodder and the SnifferImp usually diagnosed the problem, or atleast left it as a 50:50 choice :D.

Would've been cool, if there were a few difficulty levels with maybe different round time, amount of goblins to diagnose, different pool of possible symptoms and diseases etc., but yeah, that's not really feasible in the LD timeframe now is it. Some kind of tutorial would've also helped to ease the player into the game.

All in all, a really great game!

Anssi@MooseflyGames

Jetpack Caverns by Mental Atrophy 2014-05-03T16:43:00

They Launched a Probe! by daredevildave 2014-05-16T13:57:00

Took me way too long to create a somewhat working solution, which probably only works for the specific planet I was trying to scan (lightest planet the probe could find) and only when starting from the specific position it always started from :D. Even made a gif out of it https://www.dropbox.com/s/7x6lgieefsj930z/spaaaaceeeee.gif (I don't think dropbox plays it in the preview though)! The gif also shows a few bugs, namely velocity vector not disappearing after closing the code-editor, science meter going haywire. I also liked that accidentally leaving the page (happened a few times with backspace) didn't erase your progress!

Really interesting concept and execution, even if it isn't the most accessible game out there like others have mentioned. Had been putting it off for a few days because the starting curve was somewhat steep, but I'm glad I decided to give it a go in the end :).

PlayCanvas also seems really interesting, I wonder why I haven't run into it before.

Ripple Runner by DDRKirby(ISQ) 2014-05-05T13:00:00

Really awesome what you managed to make in 48 hours. It looks good, it sounds good and it also plays good. There's a good amount of different mechanics and the difficulty was also spot on thanks to the generous placement of the checkpoints. And ripples are cool http://img1.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20130104190712/jjba/images/8/83/Joseph_using_Ripple.png. I think @mortus is on to something about the controls, even if inverting with R might make them somewhat counter-intuitive if they were bound on the arrow keys for example.

Anssi@MooseflyGames

Meddle by Pitƶik4 2014-05-13T12:28:00

The control scheme did feel quite complicated, good job making alternative control schemes though. Nice puzzler, took me longer than I want to admit to pass that level with the pit. I think you introduced the mechanics pretty nicely and let the player do some thinking of their own instead of just telling what to do at every stage of the journey.

Gun Wo IIIIIII by vigrid 2014-05-01T15:19:00

Anssi@MooseflyGames

Electric Sieve by ohsqueezy 2014-04-30T18:01:00

Only got a bit over 30 points after maybe 10 tries. And my eyes hurt. Did not enjoy that static sound either.

The gameplay was annoyingly difficult, letting the sieve move just a bit too far almost always meant failure, at least for me. The difficulty between the different triangle formations was also all over the place, because it felt like you lose the same amount of "health" no matter how many poles you hit.

Anssi@MooseflyGames

Skin Deep by Martin Vilcans 2014-05-13T12:37:00

Nice visuals and a cool idea though.

Magnum by jsspiegel 2014-05-01T12:55:00

Unplayable for me. The FPS is horribly low (~3), and I need to smash the correct button around 10 times before it registers. I also die for no apparent reason (the shuriken has just entered the screen) after just 3 letters :(. I'll check back later and see if you've managed to fix this.

AMD HD5970

Magnum by jsspiegel 2014-05-01T13:46:00

@jsspiegel: Disabling music and the frame rate limit did nothing, but I figured out the problem. Why are you calling "save("Screenshot.png");" at the end of each draw? My SSD couldn't handle that. Commented that line and it works great. Even managed to splash the almighty Magnum on the first try :P.

Goddamn, didn't even manage to kill the second boss after a lot of trying. I just couldn't get a good grasp on the controls. Sure they were tight, but I just couldn't make my character to do what I wanted. Nice graphics and effects. Would've liked an epic background tune to go with it.

Cavernsweeper by davecheesefish 2014-05-19T15:31:00

"almost-excruciatingly difficult" ALMOST?! Yeah, right, I gave up after three tries, those command were not on my side (Only up and down when trying to navigate the 1-tile tall corridors? Thanks!). The planning for this must've gone something like "Hey, you know how annoying those 1st turn instant losses are in minesweeper? Let's make that into a game!".

I think it has potential, but it's just too frustrating as it is. And yeah, the automatic tile-reveal isn't working correctly.

Manliest Man : Manly Fishing by omgnoseat 2014-05-16T19:49:00

1480 points was my record after three tries. Although somewhat hard to control, the gameplay was pretty interesting. Kitsuni by SecondDimension 2014-05-01T01:07:00

Wonderful mood (some slowly falling snowflakes would've made it perfect), but the controls did feel somewhat wonky. Would've also been better if the current "possessed" animal was highlighted or something. Didn't like having to walk trough the same areas over and over again either. And the ending was pretty meh. And I guess I just said what everyone has already said :D.

Dungeon Encounter by Perry 2014-05-16T11:40:00

The Java version is unplayable due to the horrible controls. The web version seems to work somewhat OK, even though the controls still don't allow me to react fast enough.

That picture did not prepare me for what was coming! Even though it isn't much of a game, it was a superb experience with a satisfying amount of interactivity. I think it worked really nicely on a computer too, even though on a tablet this would've probably been epic. Now you just need to create more content and wait for while the cash rolls in :P.

The Diggers Refrain by Verz 2014-05-16T17:37:00

Drill a Kilometer by Clavus 2014-05-16T18:26:00

116.4 seconds with 3 units of life left. Took me almost 10 tries though. I also would've loved inversed controls, and maybe some kind of a short turbo-boost that automatically recharges over time? Would'v ehelped with those missiles. The gameplay was nice and juicy and the difficulty of the randomly generated map felt really good.

Enderscope's Game by Arakade 2014-05-13T12:10:00

Hm, I think I got all of it, exept for a tiny cancerous blob floating in air which I couldn't hit. The controls were quite stiff, maybe it should be made less "realistic" in favor of being more fun. I think Wii's Trauma Team's endoscopy sections handled it pretty nicely.

Damn, crashed my browser (Pale Moon v: 24.4.2 (x64) after I met my "future self" and typed "God damnit." :/. Crashed again after reaching my future self and typing the first word. Managed to finish it on the latest version of Chrome though.

Grinned like a madman while playing this. Awesomely whimsical "story" and atmosphere. Lovely experience. I think this has the best implementation of typing based gameplay out of all the similar games I've played so far. Too bad for you though, I am also a robot. BEEP BOOP.

Baconizers: Into The Abyss by berryhermans 2014-05-16T18:50:00

Nice graphics and audio! The controls were a bit wonky and there wasn't really a lot to do. There is a lot of potential here, I think you should continue working on this!

Walking on thin ice... by Jacqueslelezard 2014-05-03T20:43:00

Great atmosphere and good challenging gameplay. The fact that you can't see very far makes it all the more atmospheric (and challenging). Needs a real player model -> Maybe put little flippers and a tail on the cube and it's a babby seal! My best score: 414 \o/ Joona@MooseflyGames

Radix by phi 2014-04-30T23:47:00

301m after a couple of tutorial runs (had to do the tutorial twice, since I thought the mice were invisible when in fact they were just perfectly camouflaged into the background :P).

We also made a growing simulator for last Ludum Dare, but it wasn't nearly as fancy as this. Lovely implementation.

Operation Blind October by Jyrkface 2014-04-29T18:45:00

Interesting concept, but either the implementation needs some work or I just don't get it. It felt somewhat bland and then the difficulty setting suddenly turned to 11 :P. Loved the style and mood though, good job.

GLUCKAUF TROLL by Pixelfan Games 2014-05-04T14:40:00

Using your logo as an in-game thingy? Check. Leaderboards? Check. Way to go ;).

Meh, got 200 deaths instead of 200 points :D (though I did get somewhat close). Loved the instant respawning, but some of the rock formations were so damn hard it made getting a high score more luck than skill based. Graphics were good as was the audio.

Go! Go! Purgatory! by Captain_Genial 2014-05-01T14:14:00

The art was superb, no complaints there. Audio worked well enough as well. The basic premise is interesting, but the dialogue and story felt too random. Played trough twice though. Nice humour. Also noticed the lines that GrooveMan described when playing fullscreen (1080p monitor).

Underground by f7f5 2014-05-15T23:06:00

Meh, gave up after getting to the room with two short laser walls and auto-targeting turrets after them. On my first playtrough I died to those short laser walls in the fourth(?) screen three times in a row :P. So yeah, not a fan of the control scheme, might've enjoyed it somewhat more were it not for that.

Rage against the Rectangles by tankete 2014-04-29T22:40:00

Controller controls are super finicky, you should probably define some analog-stick dead-zones to make it better. Other than that it ran fine.

I also recommend you to read this: http://scientificninja.com/blog/write-games-not-engines. Sure, it's an interesting idea to make your game easily moddable like this, but at least I don't find it very fun if it's supposed to be the main feature.

Surface Runner by OniiRam 2014-05-03T17:23:00

Going Down by Jimanzium 2014-04-29T16:44:00

Heh, high score of 742. Good luck beating that!

Gameplay was very simple, so of course it got repetitive quickly. Not much strategy involved, since I couldn't react to the spikes in time. Instead I just held the button for a time that felt right, jumped, and repeated till I died. Graphics were simple, but they got the job done, didn't like the gaps in the foreground wall texture though. Music was so damn repepepepepepepepepepepepepepetive.

Anssi@MooseflyGames

Terry's Trans-Atlantic Travel by Thresh 2014-05-19T13:09:00

Metro Lance by theholychicken 2014-05-01T14:38:00

Really needed some fast paced music to make it feel better, just listened to some random fast techno song from youtube while playing :P. I also agree with what yo_milo said about the juicyness. This could feel so damn epic if polished. Could use some balancing, just staying at the middle most of the time with double jump was too easy. Finished it on my second try. Cool ending.

Spider Miner by Brick 2014-05-02T21:33:00

Not much more than a moving (and spinning :P) player sprite and some controllable doors at the moment. I feel like the mechanic could be taken somewhere with lava or the aforementioned spiders though. Maybe both. Or maybe the game should take place in space!

The Last Beacon by Katamori 2014-05-03T23:45:00

Trying to get better at Löve and Lua so I took it as a personal challenge to identify why the laser sometimes stops after destroying a block. Your code was... passionate :D. Took me quite a while to understand the way you are handling things (I still don't understand why your map arrays in mapX.lua files are flipped 90 degrees and mirrored, wouldn't it be easier to just make it so that the top left of your array is also the top left of your screen ;)).

The problem is this (can be repeated 100% of the time at the end of level 4):
In physics.lua inside Mirror_Behaviour the mirror pieces use an if - elseif - end, meaning that they value the other possible direction as an input over the other, because it gets checked first. The right-down mirror (line 81) happens to favour beams coming from the left (x + 1). Then we have a beam coming from beneath, going trough the mirror and "hitting" the block on the way. On the next check the mirror notices that there is also a beam next to it on the right (the beam it just projected!) and shoots a beam DOWN and then exits the function, never updating the projected beam. Restarting the laser works, because now the beam reaches the next mirror on the first try. I "fixed" it by changing the if - elseif - end into two separate if - end -blocks. While it doesn't get stuck anymore it now gets projected into both directions, so that when you shoot a mirror block it also shoots back at you :D. I'm not sure how you would go about fixing this bug because you don't store the direction of the beam anywhere. You could probably just store the points where the beams collided with something and keep polling if they get destroyed, after which you start a new beam going from there.

Ah, yes, there was a game to review! Some of the mechanics felt a bit silly (couldn't fire right next to a block etc.) but obviously the game would be too easy without them in place. The game was still somewhat easy, but that isn't necessarily a bad thing for a Ludum Dare game. I would've preferred if S-key just dismissed the rope instead of descending, I don't like using spacebar as a control key :P. The audio was pretty annoying, especially when you just had to wait for the beam to drill you a nice hole.

Damn. That's a long comment.

Anssi@MooseflyGames

The Last Beacon by Katamori 2014-05-04T10:07:00

@Katamori: The rope travels and retracts instantly so I think gravity would be enough for going down ;).

The Last Beacon by Katamori 2014-05-04T11:01:00

@Katamori: That's why you hook to the ceiling like a robot ninja while falling, or approach the point by going up the rope :D.

Hanoka by Wolve 2014-04-29T16:11:00

As daandruff already mentioned, you should probably check the compo rules.

Game looked nice, music choice was fitting and the basic gameplay concept was solid and fun. What I did not like though was the fact that you had to have some of the updates to be able to progress (mainly swim speed). This meant that I had to grind for a bit because I unlocked all the damage bonuses first. The updates also felt somewhat unbalanced and I managed to skip the update screen once in the heat of the game. The volume and quality of the voiceover was also all over the place, and they did get somewhat repetitive.

StromnetZ by Moosefly 2014-04-30T20:23:00

madalaski: The game is supposed to take place "beneath the surface", as indicated by the images above the playing field. I humbly apologize for the lack of dinosaur skeletons in the background dirt to emphasize this :(.

Thanks to everyone for playing, rating and commenting! Your comments mean a great deal to us. I'm truly surprised at the lack of complaints, surely someone must have encountered a bug or something!

Our database has 262 scores submitted as of now (a lot of them from us devs and our friends though). Would love to see some new names in the leaderboards too!

StromnetZ by Moosefly 2014-05-01T16:04:00

Vandash: Thanks for the feedback. We did consider taking the open links into account while working on it, but went in a different direction in the end (speed over perfection). The restrictive timer also reflects that. Maybe it could've been a separate mode? "Perfection mode - You may continue as long as you don't leave more than X links open!" :P.

StromnetZ by Moosefly 2014-05-01T16:38:00

XrXr: Did you take a look at the image in the description :)? Thanks for playing!

StromnetZ by Moosefly 2014-05-01T17:02:00

XrXr: Yeah, that would've been an obvious improvement, but it couldn't be done with the way we were doing things :(. I just figured out how we could've done it super easily though with a minor change, too bad we had almost no time to polish the game. Maybe in a post-LD version if we decide to make one...

Anssi@MooseflyGames

@Wakka: Hmmm, haven't encountered that problem myself. Are you sure it wasn't because of this https://www.dropbox.com/s/i5gy1o8dfo3ag08/fyi.png? I know those two pipes are somewhat easy to mix up, especially because the electricity flowing trough them animates poorly as indicated by @XrXr. Would love to hear about the situation where it failed!

As always, thanks to everyone for playing. Our score database just keeps getting bigger by the day!

Anssi@MooseflyGames

StromnetZ by Moosefly 2014-05-10T22:46:00

@HybridMind: Just the other day I thought that adding a "why did I fail"-thingy at the end of the game would've been useful, after failing for some reason. Probably forgot to connect the first pipe or something stupid in my aim for the high scores :P.

@JoshOS: Thanks for playing! We too have been pondering about how important it is to be innovative. I think we might score somewhat badly on that this time around!

@CiderPunk (and the others praising the tutorial): Thank you! Looks like my last-minute (more like last-hour) efforts paid off.

Walter the white blood cell by CluelessGames 2014-05-13T22:26:00

Would love to play this, but the ship customization screen doesn't work. The text inside the text boxes(?) appears as a continuous white line and the grid area flashes randomly with the parts I've inserted. If I go into gameplay it works fine though, but I can't really build any working ship as it stands. Picture here (the grid is empty even though I drew some random lines in there and they can be seen in short flashes) https://www.dropbox.com/s/7pgkbs4oayd8rr0/walter.png.

W7 Ultimate 64Bit, AMD Radeon HD5970 with Catalyst 12.10 (newer ones don't work reliably for me).

The Missing Potato by DragonMaster21 2014-04-30T00:33:00

"One day you were walking and decided to jump into a hole and now you have to find a potato!". That sounds so stupid I couldn't help but play it!

I did not expect that dynamic lighting or potato-physics, awesome surprise! That walking animation really is the best. Gameplay was pretty mediocre, but the story made it a good bit of fun.

Bleh, made it to phase 2 two times in ten or so tries, but died almost instantly after that :P. Those lancers really are quite something.

Depth Factor by Biliogadafr 2014-05-14T11:41:00

I think the difficulty (somewhat easy) worked fine for a Ludum Dare game, it felt good just aimlessly slaughtering massive horders of those furballs from my underground bunker :D. Looks really good, but especially the gun sound could use some work. Also some background audio would be nice.

Grimlock's Lair by Supernaught 2014-05-01T18:34:00

Mine Cannon by Lukbebalduke 2014-04-29T21:30:00

Certainly the prettiest game I've played so far, could've used some more audio though for a more complete package.

While I liked the idea the game was super hard (in an annoying way) because of the inverted mouse control. Even after getting to level 8 or so after lots and lots of trying I still couldn't aim reliably. The game being windowed made it a lot worse, because I accidentally clicked on my desktop or other open windows.

Second to last part was pretty hard (had to try it three times or so), but in the last level (the heart) I just stood on the first platform and spammed spacebar, killing the enemies before they even entered the screen >:). My hand hurts from all that spamming though.

Ice Fishing Mystery by unitycoder_com 2014-05-01T16:26:00

Yeah, that's pretty much how my ice fishing experiences have also been. Would've been really cool if it was in 3D, and you could observe the blinding whiteness all around you. Maybe even see a snow covered forest on the shore. And a house here and there. And then it would start getting dark. Damn, now I'm totally in a winter mood, even though summer is just starting :D.

Anssi@MooseflyGames

Underground Siege by sfdnetwork 2014-04-30T18:13:00

Crashed after pressing play and seeing the game screen. And then after maybe a minute of gameplay on my second try.

Id rather have no background music than the current one. The graphics are decent. Controls weren't too good, because you had to completely let go off both A and/or D before you could change your direction, otherwise the player would just stop. The player is also somewhat too big, and limiting the movement to two directions made dodging the bullets kinda hard and the gameplay somewhat dull. The enemy AI wasn't too hot either.

At the moment it just feels like a crippled SHMUP.

Anssi@MooseflyGames

Geofront by BenTurbine 2014-04-30T19:22:00

Ha, the boss just flew by me. Even tried it twice, couldn't kill him fast enough :(.

The hit detection seemed ok, but the enemies reacted to the hits pretty randomly. The basic enemies were too small for my tastes, at least compared to the player ship. Gameplay was somewhat slow and easy too. Not a fan of mashing the shooting button in SHMUPs either. Really liked the visuals and the audio though, sound effects would've been really cool.

Planetary Fruit Miner by InvisibleWonder 2014-05-02T22:58:00

Yay, a top score of 18600.

Should've added a bonus for clearing the whole planet. The game also calculated the score incorrectly if you managed to get a fruit on your last turn (it didn't count towards total score). The UI was pretty unintuitive, and I would've preferred if the tool didn't deselect after using it. The fruits sometimes stuck out of the planet too, made me grin a bit.

Yay, managed to slay the vampire on my first try. Luck might have been involved though. Graphics and audio (Vampire Masquerade <3) created an awesome mood, lolled at the player character and the run animation after that menu super cool menu though. I hope you could've made the gameplay more interesting (more clues and more complex clues etc.), but it's decent considering the time limit. I guess I'll also have to mention the Skyrim reference since no one else has already done so :P.

Beneath The Darkness by Nichii 2014-05-01T15:02:00

Good enemy and gun variation, but the A.I. was way too basic. Especially the grenadiers just kept killing themselves :D. Like others have mentioned, the collision boxes didn't feel good at all. Collecting coins is indeed satisying. The sound effects were also fitting, even though the jump sound went absolutely bonkers when ever you held the jump button in a 1 tile high space :P. Graphics weren't really my cup of tea, but the worked. Here's some other things I didn't find too much fun either:
- Enemies shooting you before you can see them
- Your bullets disappearing at the edge of the screen(?). Made killing one of the enemies pretty annoying.
- Bullets traveling trough ground

Good job for 48 hours.

Breathless by Wakka 2014-05-03T20:54:00

Yay, another pipe-game! Although the gameplay in this one is that of a piece-moving puzzle instead of our traditional Pipe Dream approach. Managed to complete it in 223 actions total, but it crashed when I tried to quit it. I usually end up brute forcing my way trough these kind of games instead of taking the time to figure it out. Really enjoyable puzzler though.

Noticed a bug I guess. When I had a square piece in the slot of an L piece I could only select the L piece. Same with any kind of piece in the slot really. Would've also liked it if releasing the piece without moving it didn't count as an action.

I'm not sure if posting this comment was too wise though; now the people playing this might play our game too and hate it, seeing how people have been praising the lack of timer and all that :D!

Hm, I actually kinda liked the controls, felt very refreshing. Got a bit startled at first, but the basilisk didn't seem capable of following me, so the overall atmosphere was somewhat dull. Not much replayability either at the moment. Maybe you should just leave the level design to procedural generation if it really is your weak point.

Final Move by Team-KwaKwa 2014-04-29T18:25:00

I was expecting a lot more from this, the download is nearly 50MB after all. On that note, why is the intro made up of 448 individual images?! Oh, and the intro was just a black screen for me. The game itself was also extremely buggy, had to restart it multiple times to finish it. For instance things wouldn't react to my clicks, and I couldn't advance (the doctor just walked to dad the first time and stood there silently, while Marco kept calling me a dumbass). Marco also liked to take walks all by himself, just to stop after a few steps. All this on X64 W7.

Quite frankly did not enjoy this. The art was nice, expect for that cat which felt totally out of place. Oh, and its dialogue didn't display any c:s or z:, which is kind of important for lolcat. The only thing I remember from the audio is Marco calling me a dumbass. I'm glad he died. I hate Marco.

Anssi@MooseflyGames

Final Move by Team-KwaKwa 2014-05-04T13:34:00

Tried the X64 version in hopes it would work, but I still couldn't see the intro images, and after walking to his house Marco just returned to the hospital with no way out of there. And he did call me a dumbass when he was walking to his house, wanting me to do something when I had no control over him. Oh well.

Anssi@MooseflyGames, again.

Final Move by Team-KwaKwa 2014-05-04T13:36:00

Oh, seems like clicking the doctor caused this known loop-bug. For some reason I didn't notice it the first time when reading trough the description.

Moon Harvest by sharpcoder 2014-05-02T22:08:00

Didn't like the fact that the background integrated into the game window seamlessly, because it made it a lot easier to go out of bounds. Same with trying to keep the mouse cursor inside the playarea. Simple but nice graphics, somewhat simplistic gameplay. Could've used a background song. Finished on second try with a bit over 3000 score.

Damn space dolphins, in the name of the Emperor I declare Exterminatus upon your planet!

Diver X by kamend 2014-05-14T12:06:00

Too much stuff trying to kill you combined with the annoying controls made it frustratingly hard. My record was 171 or so after maybe 20 tries. It's pretty and the sounds are nice, but I'm not too hot on the gameplay.

Anssi@MooseflyGames

Delph Ops by baykush_figtree 2014-05-13T22:11:00

While it was somewhat fun (played till level 5 before I got too frustrated), I think that it included too many RNG elements and the controls weren't tight enough. The control problem became mainly apparent when I noticed a torpedo coming at me full speed from outside the screen. RNG was worst when trying to sink the ships, like Buriteam mentioned.

Cool graphics and audio though, and the menu was really stylish and inviting.

A Mole's Life by Gins 2014-05-02T23:50:00

Must've played this for like half an hour even though I should probably be sleeping. Shame about the audio. I just listened to a Finnish children's song about the wonders of life instead on repeat. Worked wonders and got me thinking of life. Of course the inevitable happened in the end, after a lot of struggling :(. Here's what I came up with https://www.dropbox.com/s/vh4hr6ekdlshi1m/no_one_lives_forever.png.

I understand the time constraints, but this would've been absolutely lovely if it had seasons that changed the game around a bit (amount of food, how easy it is to dig, amount of rainwater etc). Would've added to the mood had I struggled trough some harsh winters before eventually perishing.

Loved the controls and navigating in the tunnels too, since you needed something to grab onto to be able to climb. The water physics were a bit buggy, but were indeed nice when they worked!

Got totally sucked in. Fresh idea and nice execution considering the time limit. I found it awesome that you actually looked a bit into the subject before starting, now that's devotion!

You only managed to make the tutorial part :P? Would've just liked to learn the controls and then be off to explore on my terms like BoTreats already mentioned. Short but decent game, worked really nice with a controller. Would love to see this concept in a full-fledged game with maybe a bank-robbing theme or something, calculating tunnel lengths and hiding from the guards :P.

Not a big fan of dying when trying to resurface under a wall. Didn't like the fact that guards could see you inside a building either.

Nothing much to add to the others really, but I found that winking victory smiley somewhat horrifying :D. Your comment really clarified the idea. I don't really understand why you needed both R and Space keys for the tablecloth though, but whatever :). Would've been cool if the win and loss states were a bit more clear, at the moment I wasn't really sure if I won or if the game just froze.

Also took a look at your code (even though I haven't really used Python), and it was surprisingly clean for someone who has just started programming. Keep up the good work!

Anssi@MooseflyGames

Beneath the Surface by Available0xFF 2014-05-10T22:39:00

Heh, good to see someone using the same tools (C++ and SFML) that we ourselves started with a few Ludum Dares earlier :).

The physics are somewhat wonky, sometimes I got shot straight down when trying to jump on the edge, and the bouncing made it somewhat difficult. The gameplay could've also been faster. The bubbles also disappeared after a few stages.

Also took a look at your code out of interest, and didn't find it too messy.

Good job managing to get something done for your first Ludum Dare! Even more so with the tools you used.

Tank Game by perfect victim 2014-05-10T18:45:00

Surprisingly engaging for an unfinished game, got my ass whooped "beneath the surface". The graphics weren't too good, I couldn't even read that buttonmap. Music was fitting, but the sound effects were somewhat irritating. Played fine with a controller, but you should probably set some deathzones on those analog sticks so that the turret stays where the stick was released. Also it felt like my weapons were getting worse whenever I managed to get a new one :(.

Anssi@MooseflyGames

C=AVERUNNER by MrShortee 2014-05-02T22:43:00

Gave it a few tries, 110 was my final score. Pretty good, but too slow. There were sometimes long strips of land with only mushrooms on them. Some of the coins were also placed so that they were cruelly hard to pick up. The beat also starts getting interesting too late. Still managed to get maybe 1 or 2 good tunes out of it. Jumping didn't feel too good, you should add some inertia to the player character. Juicing the game up (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fy0aCDmgnxg) would've made it feel a lot better.

Good job on your first Construct2 game.

Too bad you had to scrap your original project, althought this wasn't too bad either. Don't lose your way.

Lovely graphics, just slap some audio on it, fix the bugs (objects spawn over other objecst) and give the player some inertia and it'd be pretty good already.

Surf's Down by Teesquared 2014-05-11T00:08:00

Got to a depth of a little over 7k units and a score of around 3.5k after a few tries. Would've been cool if the background kept getting darker the farther you went. Some ambient background music would've also worked wonders. Not a fan of the single-bullet-on-screen mechanic, but I guess it added an interesting risk vs. reward mechanic.

Underneath Our Faces by undefinist 2014-05-13T17:19:00

Trying to pay attention to all of the faces at the same time is way too hard for me. Got to 25 seconds or so by paying attention to only one of them though.

I think the style is ok, both the graphics and the audio work well enough for such a (deceivingly) simple game.

Ice Hop by waveformmodulations 2014-05-10T23:17:00

Funky soundtrack and nice visuals. I just kept spacebar pressed (infinite jumping with no jumping sound) and jumped trough the levels :D. I think the textures could've been a bit moore simple and cartoony though. More of a (somewhat) interactive adventure than a game. You could've shown a image with the text "Loading..." or something to make it more clear when the game was loading. First Blender-game I've seen so far, impressive stuff!

Beneath the Surface - a 2D Puzzle-Platformer by JoshOS 2014-05-10T20:57:00

Got some kind of a visual studio runtime error at level 11 after a lot of tries, and decided to call it a day. Might have been the same error that BadgerPriest mentioned. Running X64 Windows 7 Ultimate.

I liked the idea of controlling two separate entities, but I did not like the platforming aspect of it (I don't like platforming in general though...). Sometimes, for some reason, only one of the characters would jump when I pressed the jump key. And on level eight I had to check the tutorial to confirm that those jumps were indeed possible. The graphics were also somewhat too small. It took me way too long to realize that the spikes mentioned were those small toothpicks on the walls.

Anssi@MooseflyGames

Beneath by Stepperz 2014-05-02T18:07:00

Not a huge fan of roguelikes, but still played this for quite a while because I got to keep my inventory upon death. Encountered one bug where the item icons in my backbag wouldn't match the items though (they were off by one I think). Liked the auto pathfinding, but I think using both the mouse (for long distances) and the keyboard (for single rooms) would've been easier for me. Too many small rooms and corridors for my tastes too.

Lazor Fish by REDACTED 2014-05-10T19:06:00

Crazy? Awesome? Crazy awesome! Somewhat simple, but pretty entertaining. Nice work on the walls and the water surface. Some of the fish dropped too quickly and were super hard to kill before they killed you. Graphics were good in their simpleness, but a kickass soundtrack would've added a lot.

OMAGAD BIRDS ! by billos 2014-04-29T23:24:00

Why does it take so much space and such a long time to load? Why is the FPS 5? These are just some of the questions I pondered while the game tried to unpause itself, after which I was instantly killed by a bird.

Well, at least you made something, good job.

OMAGAD BIRDS ! by billos 2014-04-30T18:18:00

Gaspard_: Yeah, but generally you shouldn't use FPS to set the gameplay speed. You can have this kind of gameplay with high FPS, making the game feel a lot better.

Blocky Dungeon by Tuska 2014-05-16T18:26:00

Mini-mines indeed, impressive feat of engineering! Was expecting a Missile Commander-esque game from the screenshot and you didn't disappoint! Faced a steep difficulty wall but after overcoming it the game got way too easy so I max(x)ed out the upgrades and just let it idle. Hm, those audio files make the download quite large. And the audio just stopped after Black Star played once. Took me probably over 10 minutes to get out of the maze, can't navigate at all when everything looks the same. Maybe paint the tiles the player has already walked on or add something to the walls to help with navigating. Not much to do at the moment either, like others have mentioned. The surface world looked pretty nice, but you probably shouldn't make the skybox from voxels :P.

Hell Bender | A Game By Skull Code by SkullCode 2014-04-30T19:50:00

The other commentors have already pretty much summed it up. You should've gone for quality over quantity. The game also froze shortly after I encountered an invincible skeleton-thingy at the platform up high and tried jumping around the platform walls.

The climbing mechanic was somewhat fun at least and the game did work (for the most part).

As others have already mentioned, it's a solid game. Didn't make it far on my first try, but got all of the artifacts on my second run (with one life to spare even). Nice simple puzzles too.

I did have some issues with it:
- Walls blocked your view in some points.
- The area you could see was quite limited, especially when moving towards the screen I had to move by tapping the key so I wouldn't run into any spiders.
- Could've used a fullscreen option.
- The enemies were somewhat tedious, being able to kill them in maybe three hits would've probably been more fun.
- Ambient background audio or something? Didn't like the walking sound effect.

150MB unzipped?! Dayumn, thats a lot of content! Took me quite a long time to figure out what I was doing, but after that the game was simple enough. Even more so after my junk robot turned into a killerbot :D.

The card texts were all over the place and full of typos, and I got so many cards that I couldn't even read my cards' texts anymore. The game also crashed when I tried to use "Feed" on Mother of roach.

The game was also way too easy, because getting killer bots with four combat rolls and psychics with 3 stealth rolls let you just steamroll everything (exept for hackers).

Looks good, but isn't much fun to play.

Enjoyable read and a nice experience overall.

The rain-imitating background track didn't loop too nicely though, so it got somewhat irritating after a while. Also took me a while to realise I could click on the books during the second day for some reason. Would've also liked for the game to not show any text, if clicking the object didn't do anything. For example when hovering over Wilma it displayed the "myself" text even though clicking her didn't do anything.

Connecting LD30 to the Real World by Will Edwards 2014-08-28T16:49:00

Brilliant! Aside from the user experience tweaks others have already mentioned, I can't think of anything more to comment on.

Anssi@MooseflyGames

Cosmic Conqueror by MunkeeBacon 2014-09-12T14:28:00

Played the original version, so I don't know if any of these problems have already been fixed:
- People spawning outside of planets
- Collisions going wonky because of the pushback (aliens clipping trough each other etc.)
- Bridges not always connecting, despite being visually connected

Nice atmosphere and juiciness. The gameplay, even if a bit buggy is also nicely varied, albeit a bit too slow (because of the broken bridges I guess).

Murder Between Worlds by ChronusZ 2014-08-27T18:03:00

Is there even a "correct" answer here? I tried arresting each of them but I think the result was the same every time :P. I'm pretty confident about my first choice though... Really interesting visual style and a good old whodunnit mystery is really refreshing every now and then. Humor felt somewhat shoehorned like others have mentioned, expected a more serious tone.

The Asylum by samooJAM 2014-08-28T18:14:00

Just as I was thinking that it might be better if I stay I happen to find the way out! And then I jumped into the void :P. Cool surrealistic non-euclidian walking simulator. Like @Mase mentioned, movable objects might be nice for marking the route. Or maybe the player could drop something akin to the story of Hansel and Gretel. The clue in the bookcase was also nice, maybe more of those?

Doki Doki Planet by Moonkis 2014-09-10T18:59:00

Like Crefossus already mentioned, the gameplay felt somewhat random. I think the stats should also be readily visible, instead of being hidden behind a menu :(. Definitely got a tamagotchi vibe from this one!

Even though I had no one to play with, the AI proved to be quite capable. Really nice game, it pushes all the right buttons. That juicyness makes the gameplay feel sooooo good.

Chaos Heart by YMM 2014-09-13T14:34:00

I was also reminded of Adventure Time while playing this, which is definitely a nice thing. I think YAYitsAndrew's comment about the basic attacking being made more satisfying is pretty spot on too.

Even though the gameplay is quite simple, I really liked playing it because of the overall mood. My best score was a grand total of... FIVE planets / points!

Switchboard Connection by Scott Baker 2014-08-27T16:57:00

Needs more consistent controls and also what moomoo112 said and it would be great. I'm not sure if I beat it or not but it seemed to go back to the first level after level 3(?). Funny idea and decent execution, too bad I didn't have time to read all they had to say, I just picked the numbers and ignored the rest. A "busy office" sort of background "music" would've added a lot!

Sideline by Vandash 2014-09-13T14:51:00

Damn that was hard, I have no idea how you managed that 45k score. My best run ended with a score of 546 or so :(. I would've probably liked it a bit more if I didn't always die so soon. Maybe have each hit take off one upgrade or so, so that you could effectively keep regenerating. That might make it too easy, but some variation of the idea would maybe work.

Anssi@MooseflyGames

Whiteout by primaerfunktion 2014-09-13T15:30:00

Gave it a couple of tries (maybe half an hour or so) but was unable to find my partner.

It is really moody, but I think the realism makes it somewhat dull to play. Maybe the player could've had an emergency warming solution or something and a jog-button they could've used for a limited time. I didn't usually bother trying to go back to the tent, because that felt like a huge waste of time and made my potential area of exploration pretty small. Would've loved to see the ending, but I don't think I'll come back to it.

Anssi@MooseflyGames

Mor by Ditto 2014-09-12T18:59:00

Feels like you took Binding of Isaac and kicked things up a notch. Nice humour and challenging yet addicting gameplay. Took me maybe 10 tries to get to the ending (thank you speed!) and it was totally worth it! One thing I didn't like was my twin throwing stuff at me from the next room when I was just entering it. Also some items spawned so close to the doors, that they were really hard to avoid, especially when entering a new room.

Anssi@MooseflyGames

Shattered by ThatSamu 2014-08-28T17:27:00

It was like doing surgery in space, brilliant! Looked really good too.

Some things I didn't like:
- No sounds to add to the atmosphere (well, it is set in space after all :D)
- I couldn't use the menus with my controller, so I thought the game didn't regocnize it. Good thing I still tried it during the game though.
- All of the planets are the same. This is understandable given the time limit though, good job making it work as it is!
- Colors were pretty hard to differentiate from time to time.
- Destroying the enemies was quite hard (maybe a repelling mode for the magnet could've been cool!).
- Collecting the bits and pieces of planets felt somewhat tagged on.
- This is also a good thing (makes the game playable I guess): Only the ship and the pieces connected to it seemed to have inertia, when I let go they stopped almost(?) instantly.
- The game was somewhat slow paced

Despite these "complaints" I did find it intriguing, good job! Especially for a compo entry.

If you want to fix the false-positive with Chrome upload the game somewhere else than Dropbox. Seems like Google doesn't trust Dropbox :P.

Clicked this because it looked like an almost 1:1 copy of our game, but they proved to be quite different. It is indeed really barebones though, so sadly not too much fun at the moment.

Get Set by ryguydavis 2014-09-10T18:34:00

The camera in the first properly-dark level (the one following the dark level in one of your screenshots) was the worst I've ever ran into in any video game. It just kept jumping from place to place randomly, without even caring about the player character. The later levels were also frustratingly hard. Audio would have been cool, but for a compo entry the lack of audio is understandable.

Anssi@MooseflyGames

BOND by ConflictiveLabs 2014-09-12T22:13:00

The normal web link doesn't even seem to be working. This is the first time I rate something based on a post-compo/jam version of said game, but here goes.

I liked how you took a well explored mechanic of controlling two characters at the same time, and added the disconnect mechanic in addition of "combined collections" (meaning that if there was a collision in one of the worlds, both of the worlds acted like there was a collision there).

In the level towards the end with one central pylon for the red character I suicided two times in row after getting the keys by walking the red character off the pylon, which just goes to show how hard some of the mechanics were to grasp :P. Even though you had many hints on who I was controlling my mind just refused to believe that and did whatever it wanted.

Some music would have been cool.

Anssi@MooseflyGames

BOND by ConflictiveLabs 2014-09-13T12:53:00

@ConflictiveLabs
Tried the original version and it was indeed pretty barebones compared to the post-jam version. The basic gameplay is still there, but obviously it doesn't get used to its full potential in that one map. I think I'll let you off this once and stand by my original scoring though ;).

And in my last message I obviously meant "combined collisions". My brain must've still been tired from your devious puzzles :P.

Got a whopping total of nine links on my best try out of four or so tries. Too bad that last link was "Great minds" which made me steer into a bullet straight away.

Plenty hard, but not annoyingly so. Nice risk vs. reward thingy going on with those links!

Anssi@MooseflyGames

Otherworld by Malapropos 2014-08-28T17:09:00

Only made it past the first stone after a couple of tries, but did not feel like playing further because the gameplay didn't really feel too good. The art and animations are superb, but some background audio would probably add a lot. I heard music in the menu, but the game was silent. I also really like the idea and setting of this. Kinda reminds me of http://myanimelist.net/anime/2246/Mononoke .

So, what I did not like:
- No feedback in the menu
- Spirit projectiles shooting above my cursor, instead of where I was aiming
- I fell from a platform while transforming and was paralyzed after that
- My true form feels too defenseless since the spirits can just travel trough the terrain to get to it no matter how good the position is
- Spammy gameplay
- Controlling the characters didn't feel too good, the transition could've been a bit shorter too
- Hitboxes didn't feel consistant

There must be something I didn't get, but unable to figure that out I quit the game before finishing it. The only clickable thing in the living room seemed to be the photo and in the veranda there was nothing I could click. I went trough all the dialogue too but to no avail. Lovely atmosphere nonetheless.

The textboxes could be improved a bit, at the moment the text appears instantly (and you can even choose it if you aren't careful with your clicking) while the background moves smoothly into place.

Grim Gateway by radmars 2014-08-30T19:26:00

Sorry, didn't play past level 2. I just can't deal with the frustration that this game brings with it. The combination of large sprites on a small screen and being sent to the title with each death just makes me want to smash things even though the controls themselves were pretty decent (I don't think the infinite jumping was intentional though).

Also crashed my browser (Pale Moon 24.7.1 (x64)) like your LD29 game did, so I had to play it on Chrome. The crash occurred when I died in the spirit world.

Nice aesthetics as others have also mentioned.

Anssi@MooseflyGames

Fragments by ix 2014-08-27T21:12:00

Didn't even start in Pale Moon X64 v 24.7.1 (a browser based on Firefox), and was quite jerky at times in Chrome even on this intel i7 computer. The music also stuttered/skipped (like you warned it would) so I had to mute it. Won't rate you on the Audio part because of this.

The visuals were pretty cool though, and the story was told in an interesting fashion. I think I would've enjoyed it a lot more had it not been almost a slideshow in the more complex levels.

Anssi@MooseflyGames

Doggy Dialler by Lianne Booton 2014-08-30T20:11:00

Glitched by Yasho 2014-09-15T19:21:00

Sorry, couldn't finish it. My eyes are tired and getting instantly killed by a dying enemy's bullet-wave due to the lack of any invulnerability after getting hit really got to me so I just alt-f4:d at some point.

The graphics certainly fit the setting, but I just can't look at them for an extended period of time without feeling dizzy. The gameplay is also interesting but, because there is no invulnerability, annoying at times.

Hello, Alien! by klianc09 2014-09-12T15:47:00

One of the best games I've played this LD, and easily the best puzzle game out of them! Loved abusing the backside of the mirrors to create some really interesting solutions, which might've not been the solutions you had in mind when creating the levels. It's always fun when there isn't a single correct way to solve a puzzle. Also the "Occam's Razor" type solution in the level with only one bomb was really clever and funny in my opinion!

Had a blast playing trough it, good job! Don't see any reason to really shut the laser down though, so maybe it should've just been on all the time by default.

Anssi@MooseflyGames

Hello, Alien! by klianc09 2014-09-16T08:44:00

@klianc09
Don't know if you'll see this, as I am just checking some of my favourite entries out for their scores, but here goes!

I actually took it upon myself to blast as many aliens as possibly in each map before completing it. It was sort of like an additional goal. Did "killing" the aliens have an effect on the game?

Many Ninjas by Parappa 2014-09-11T19:35:00

The amount of rice I had turned negative for a while after buying an upgrade. These increment games are just too damn addicting, also played to the 10^100:s :P. The mechanics you added to the Cookie Clicker formula also worked nicely.

Anssi@MooseflyGames

Alternate guardians by Destroyer40k 2014-09-12T22:37:00

Anssi@MooseflyGames

Cells by Xanjos 2014-08-27T14:37:00

I think that what the game needs (in addition to a better AI of course :P) are some deeper mechanics. For example if capturing a circle prevented that circle from being captured for N turns (maybe 1) the battles for territory when the players clash would probably be more strategic! Another mechanic you could add is that circles which are cut off from the "main group" (largest amount of circles that connect in some way) become automatically captured by the enemy (for example in your fourth screenshot, the four blue circles would automatically turn red. What I'm trying to say is that it has potential, even though it isn't much right now.

Anssi@MooseflyGames

Cells by Xanjos 2014-08-27T22:31:00

Godshunter by Mr. Chelnoque 2014-09-12T16:37:00

Gave it two tries, but couldn't really figure it out. Was able to hit a tentacle once, but that's about it. I think my main problem was being unable to figure out the spotlight operating, since sometimes it would just display a lighting icon and I was unable to do anything about it. Everything is just so damn tiny I can't even really tell what's going on. Despite everything being so small, the graphics are still nice and the mood is pretty cool too.

KLIN DESTINY by ticlekiwi 2014-09-10T18:20:00

Starting the game by pressing space freezes my browser of choice, Pale Moon X64 version 24.7.1 (based on Firefox). It eventually gave me a notice about a script running slowly, with the message pointing to line 201 on game.min.js. Tried twice with the same result. Worked fine in Chrome v 37.0.2062.103 m though.

It looks nice, and I don't even mind the controls because it's such an open space. Too bad there's not much going on gameplay-wise.

Light Year Wars by nicotuason 2014-09-12T23:11:00

Haha, even though our aesthetical approaches are totally different, the core gameplay is almost a 1:1 match (well, we did take inspiration from the same game after all :P). Loved the style, even though sometimes the sound effects were a bit jarring and sounded "scratchy" for some reason.

Trough my inside knowledge I dominated the AIs with ease. The multiple selection was really handy and made the game a lot more fun to play! Really good compo entry all in all!

The Quest For The Missing Baby by Ofursnati 2014-08-27T17:37:00

I really wish this was longer. Good thing that what it lacks in length it has in awesomeness! That transition between the worlds just feels sooooo good and ties really nicely into the gameplay. If you feel like it, I don't see why you couldn't make it into a complete game. Reminds me of Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams in a good way.

Didn't understand anything during my first try, but on my second try, after figuring out the mechanics, I got to 300 steps before quitting, because it didn't seem to be getting any harder.

The different "gameplays" intertwine really nicely, reminds me of this other entry (http://www.ludumdare.com/compo/ludum-dare-30/?action=preview&uid=41177), where you could control bacteria via Conway's Game of Life. Cool aesthetics too!

On my first three tries or so, I failed after only one or two connections, but on my last try I made it to 20k points before I quit because it didn't seem to get any harder. I found it a little annoying that you had to mouse over a planet and wait a bit before you could see the languages of that planet. The maximum distance of a link could also be visually presented so that the player won't have to keep guessing if the link can be made.

Even though it was quite short, it was still pretty enjoyable. As @dunin already mentioned, it had a nice Ghost Trick-vibe to it, which is always a nice thing. I also liked the way you incorporated humour into your story in unexpected ways. The only problems I had was that I needed to click on the textfield in the terminal before being able to input anything in there. Also for some reason Bronson(?) didn't escape after I hacked his terminal, but only after I had also hacked mine.

TL;DR: Fun and funny game!

The Swordman by iSamurai 2014-09-10T16:32:00

Music was pretty annoying, but other than that its a fine job for a compo entry. Pathfinding sure would've been nice to lessen the amount of micro-management needed. Too bad we ran out of time as is and didn't even finish our original to-do list (which, for some reason, didn't include pathfinding :D).

Multiplayer games are always quite problematic to rate when you don't have anyone to play with, but it did work nicely when I ran two instances on this machine. The server didn't show a disconnected message or anything when I alt-f4'd the game with the connected player. Did you try out how the mechanics work if the ship doesn't collide with the planets but can pass trough them? I'm not sure if that would make it better or worse, but I think it's worth a test :P.

The only thing I found unfairly hard were the bosses fast blue bullets in "phase 1". They killed me more times than I want to admit. On one try there was also an enemy that was so close to the edge of the screen that I couldn't shoot it normally. The player ship is also a tad finicky to my tastes. The shooting sound also got really annoying after a while. Nice little proof-of-concept / Ikaruga-lite anyways!

Looks and feels nice, but the gameplay is honestly somewhat dull as it is. I guess the feel of progression just isn't there, since you're confined to a certain area and the enemies spawn in waves, which are indeed always a bit harder, but still pretty similar to the last wave. Not much to do but run and gun (hehe) around the stage at the moment. If only it had actual levels with bosses..!

Don't get me wrong though, it was a great entry!

Twist And Weave by ZeppelinCaptain 2014-09-13T22:54:00

Upon seeing that final level I instantly closed the window and dragged the game to the garbage bin. Thanks, but no thanks!

Sometimes it feels like getting the balls to go where I want them to go takes more luck than skill. Didn't really hear the background audio and didn't want to raise the volume because of the sound effects.

You could've also made it so that the player doesn't need to rescue all the balls, but instead each rescued ball counted towards a common score, which determined how well the player completed the level (bronze - silver - gold for example). That would've made it more easy for casual players to adopt while still providing the completionists with a challenge!

Cool _intro_ for an adventure- / puzzle- / atmospheric-walking-simulator-game you got there! Would've been really cool if instead of teleporting me to the correct spot, the level would have just risen from beneath my feet naturally ;). Even though there isn't much gameplay, I think the little gameplay there is helps the player to immerse and feel invested in the game and the story.

The moon and the stars appearing is definitely one of my favourite gaming moments of all time.

Molyneux God by Capitals 2014-08-27T14:53:00

Pretty confusing, especially since I'm not really well versed in the whole God-game genre :P. Didn't really get it even after understanding the UI. I did like playing with ice and volcanoes though. Your last Ludum Dare project must have been really complex if this is "simple and small" for you!

Rescue Shump by musicm122 2014-08-30T19:55:00

The gameplay is really dull since you can't purposely avoid anything and are resorted to spamming 2 while flying at max speed to the next village. Also clicking options just gives me a blue screen.

SpaceCorp by HellBlazer 2014-08-27T22:27:00

At the moment it really is just a test of endurance (how long you can keep clicking), but I was still stubborn enough to play to a million credits. Mainly because the "nuggets" were there. Really needs additional mechanics (cost of fuel etc.) and the user experience also needs to be improved (undo so that if you misslick you don't have to cancel and repeat so that you can repeat the current pattern making trading a lot more user friendly).

But yeah, the Ludum Dare timit limit is harsh. Good work!

Gun & Run by Vanish 2014-09-11T18:50:00

Yeah, had to download the flash-file instead of being able to play it inside the browser directly. It was pretty hard, won at my fourth try though! Good job combining the different gameplay styles, it worked quite well.

Double Take by mrjohnson22 2014-08-30T21:52:00

Not much, but it works and doesn't make me want to kill myself so good job! The transition between the "worlds" was pretty confusing at first, and I forgot that the X-key is used for jumping and wondered how I'm supposed to clear it without jumping. Why not just use the up arrow for that too?

Chipset-0 by deepnight 2014-09-13T14:20:00

Who's a good slave? I'm a good slave!

Cool that you managed to get a bit of a story in there. And there was even some humour thrown in there!

Chipset-0 (despite being a lifeless robot) was actually quite an elaborate character and the ending made it clear that the player had a choice while playing as him. Didn't replay to see how the endings differed from each other though.

The game looks and feels nice and the basic gameplay is solid. Best puzzle platformer I've played in a while. The amount of polish you've managed to put into the game is also extraordinary. Feels more like the beginning of a commercial game than a Ludum Dare compo entry.

Ikaruga: Bullet Eater mode :P. Didn't feel like jumping either, just switching the color worked better. Also the birds coming from the lower part of the screen were quite hard to see in time.

Exploding Space Snails by Slothmachine 2014-08-28T18:36:00

The world was mostly black for me too, with only the nearest parts (usually behind me) being textured correctly. I think I also got two leaves at most after some tries, because the timer is so strict. Maybe the game could zoom out a bit when you collect a leaf, so you could maybe see the next leaf or atleast know where it won't be.

Fairy Wars by ambi 2014-09-12T20:36:00

I just used the winter shield the whole time and shot every summer fairy before they even entered the screen. Didn't "convert" too many fairies, but made it to the end :P. Faster player character and a smaller hitbox would've made it more playable I think.

Cat planet by lorniebear 2014-09-13T00:10:00

I liked pretty much everything it had to offer apart from the talking minigame, what with teleporting phones and all that :P. One time the phones actually followed me all the way to the "main screen" with the security cat! Grinding every skill to 60 was a bit tedious, but I guess it is indeed necessary if I want to be a convincing human.

A planet with only humans and no cats is just too lonely.

The Great Space Salad by KuGrou 2014-09-14T20:19:00

Interesting idea. The space flying segments didn't really feel fun or useful. The puzzle segments on the other hand were fun and engaging and thye might actually work well as a multiplayer game! Some polish here and there, some space flying segment changes and it's a great puzzler. Also multiplayer might be a great way to continue working on this!

I've had the same idea myself, even though I've yet to implement it, so of course I was interested in trying your game out! For some reason though I just couldn't get the AI to follow my orders. Both times I tried to battle my team just did whatever it wanted :(. As already mentioned, especially the battles could use polish to make it more interesting. You might have the beginnings of something great here though!

Taxi Space by DrCicero 2014-09-05T15:58:00

Stopped playing after finishing the storyline and earning 2500 spacebucks. Circling on the outskirts of the system made it pretty easy to achieve. Zoomed the window to about two times the original size, after which it became much more playable. Interesting arcade-style gameplay and a fitting aesthetic too. Only bug I noticed was the minimap going outside of its supposed box :P.

Also thanks for going to such great lengths in order to play our game!

Intersolar Super Spaceway (Excellent!) by popcorn897 2014-08-26T18:07:00

The game tells me to choose a planet and I can only select the moon?! Are you going to ask me to press "any key" next? I don't have such things!

Joking aside, it was quite nice both asthetically and gameplay wise although super short (I think the game congratulated me, I was too busy clicking and skipped it).

The controls are somewhat weird, why not just use the keyboard for everything (arrows to move, space to shoot)? It was also somewhat hard to figure out what I was supposed to collect and what I was supposed to avoid. It is also somewhat strange that the game scrolls vertically but the width is greater than the height, giving the player almost too much room horizontally. The fact that you could shoot in an angle made it a somewhat sensible decision though.

All that aside, this is a solid entry! Good job.

The Way Home by kei 2014-08-27T16:42:00

Transforce by ZoneOne2 2014-08-27T15:32:00

The basic gameplay is so intriguing that the fact that it is super barebones doesn't really matter. I'm not sure if I've ever play anything similar and the few levels it had were nicely designed to show of some of the things you can do with the mechanic. Really cool. Worked fine with a PS3 controller using XInput Wrapper for DS3.

GRAVCOMM by doomista 2014-09-03T09:35:00

Very safe approach on the theme and a good execution. Solid gameplay, but I feel like it didn't quite hook me. Something was missing, but I can't say what. Maybe the afterburner should be more powerful and a required part of the solution for each level? The music got somewhat annoying and in my opinion the predictor was too long. Still, a good solid game. Well done!

Uninhabitable by Slikker 2014-08-27T14:04:00

The gameplay is pretty barebones, but the world had a nice desolate feel to it and it was interesting to just walk around and admire the view while searching for usable stuff. Voice acting was also nice, even though the voice was clearly computer generated.

Some things I didn't like were the slippery controls and the high mouse sensitivity. I also found it odd that the inventory could also be controller with WASD + Space, so I accidentally drank a few bottles of water while running and jumping around :P. Also noticed a couple of levitating rocks around the portal. Good job on the entry though!

Salted Earth by wolfmother 2014-08-26T18:31:00

While it is novel, as a game it just doesn't do it for me. The most effective strategy for me was to bait the enemies into attacking and teleport to the other side of the galaxy, but I couldn't make it past wave 3 even after quite a lot of tries. My main gripe with this is the fact that it is really hard to control consistently and remain on top of the situation. If it were a tad slower or had a bullet time thingy then maybe I would've gotten more into it. It would also help if the teleport translated the ship smoothly (but still swiftly) between planets instead of, well, teleporting it and throwing the player off balance.

I played with the window scretched to fit my display, and the text was super tiny, something like font size 8 or so.

A Hole New World by jjhaggar 2014-09-15T23:50:00

The game really achieved what it was going for and kept me gripped till the end (took a look at the comments after a few tries at the boss though, he was one cheap mf). Good thing there was a checkpoint just before the boss. Took me somewhere between five and ten tries to get there, and another ten or so to beat the boss-

The aesthetics are perfect and the gameplay spot on. Some of the parts did feel a bit trial and error, since you never knew if there was going to be a ghost there or not. Also the boss, while rewarding in the end was quite annoying because:
- He switched directions on the go, just as I was jumping over him. Same with this jumping, seemed unpredictable to me.
- The ghost summoning had no clear tell as far as I can... tell and the ghost hitboxes activated seemingly instantly resulting in some annoying hits as I was jumping over him or even being near him.

The Catapult by OinkIguana 2014-08-26T21:56:00

Thats a lot of walking around, that's how you know it's a proper RPG ;). The story was pretty basic but kept me somewhat interested. Only bug I noticed was one of characters in the village telling that Phil is in the forest when he was right next to her (was it a her? I don't know, they all look like penises with balls for legs to me) and Phil telling me he had found "this rock here" or something because I collected the vines before I was asked to.

Tried exploring the moon and bam, it blew up. Then I pressed the home button after wandering around the galaxy and the Earth blew up. Dammit :D. Maybe there was a rogue meteorite I didn't catch in time.

Interesting concept, but takes a bit too much time to really get going. Also micromanaging the meteorites is a lot of work, maybe one of the upgrades could install an AI targeting system or something ;).

Garden of Oblivion by Traumendes_Madchen 2014-08-30T21:44:00

Amazing amount of high-quality content considering the time limit! Only "bugs" I encountered were the missing scarecrow image (did you forget to add it or was it just a typo in the scripts?) and some "unclickable clickables" (for example the fountain at the beginning). I think I also missed the explanation on why I was able to conjure things by arranging puzzles because I just clicked the books on the bookshelf before talking to Lotte and when I next went there she had disappeared. Some typos here and there also.

I had to solve the riddle by googling, but for anyone wondering the answer is the 21st word of my first paragraph ;).

Pretty simple (I'm more of the bullet hell shooter kind of guy) but it has some nice juice poured into it :P. The randomness of the levels was pretty annoying though. On my first try the enemies just wouldn't drop anything and on my second try the second enemy I killed dropped the wormhole-opener-3000-thingamajig. On the following levels I also got it almost instantly and cleared the game in just a few minutes.

Midspace Madness by kmasiulis 2014-09-15T16:16:00

Okay. This game has many things that should be fixed. The most important one is to let the player know what the idea behind the game is and which ship he is controlling before the race actually begins. The game is a bit too fast paced, it all just becomes a big blur of sprites. The jump mechanic was a nice addition, but as the game was so fast many times I landed straight into a rock. :p In the end, it is a working game with win/lose conditions, so well done! It is a very rough game and requires some polish to actually be enjoyable. Graphical effects, sounds and a short description before the race and it'd be a good solid racer. Add in the polish and it could be a great racer!

Dream Epoch (adventure / rpg) by Adam Thompson 2014-08-30T22:44:00

It's been a while since I played a game with fixed cameras like this. Too bad the controls couldn't keep up to the camera (but it seems you already knew of this bug). Not much to do at the moment, but the world has a nice feel to it.

Since it's a jam entry I don't think it matters where the assets are from, as the developer still has to use them to put a game together. When a lot of the assets used are premade I think that for example the Graphics score displays how well the developer has been able to use those available assets in combination with code to create a visually pleasing experience.

World Traveler by puppetmaster 2014-08-26T21:23:00

It's an interesting experience. Or rather would be, if it wasn't really annoying as a game.

Why do you need to use the mouse to progress from the title / game over screen instead of the keyboard? The spawn on level 7(?) is annoyingly placed (you have to start moving almost instantly or you will die right there at the spawn). It would also be nice if the player had like a second or so to view the level before it begins. The collisions were also pretty inconsistent (characters to walls, player to enemies), even the AI got stuck quite a lot. Didn't finish it. When level 9 or 10 (I don't remember) started, I only had like three seconds in the timer, no way I can make it to the end that fast.

Collision by Alphish 2014-08-31T12:49:00

The general idea is nice, but the execution really falls short. In addition to a buttload of walking around (please let the player at least teleport back to the computer!) I had to try to remember a lot of stuff all at once including but probably not limited to:
- Where have I already been?
- Where am I now?
- Where was I headed to?
- Which gates does each of these rooms hold?
- How are the rooms connected to each other?

After a while I just lost interest because I forgot what was where and had to start checking places I had already been to. I really wanted to like it, the background music was great (I disabled the sound effects after a while though) and the overall mood was pretty good but the gameplay just felt so menial and trial and error based that I just couldn't do it.

Cosmodrome Manager by jjoelio 2014-09-14T20:43:00

The idea is solid and the potential is definitely there. I like these slow-paced strategic manager games, and this was no exception. But, this game lacks a lot of things to make it more appealing and engaging. Simple feedback, to give the "Oh I did that" feeling or some visual representation of the different routes at work or something like that. Anyway, I do hope you keep on working this, it might not become the next big simulator cashmachine, but it might very well be a fun trading game. Well done!

Really solid stealth game for such a short time. Really felt a chill go down my spine when I saw the question mark over the patrolling robots for the first time. It did crash after reaching the elevator though. Some things that would improve the experience are:
- Sight-cones stopping at solid objects (somewhat hard to implement, so no wonder it's not in).
- Better visuals for what you can use for cover (I thought the thing in the first room after the toilets was a pit :D).
- Don't spawn the obstacles directly in front of the player in the hacking minigame, that makes strafing way too effective ;).
- Some lore / items to collect while hacking around!
- The camera transition while wallhugging should be smooth, or maybe there shouldn't be a camera transition there at all.

Windows download link is missing the data folder. The web version seems to be working though.

It feels somewhat hard to control the character, because it feels like it doesn't respond to all of my clicks or the responses are really irregular. Sometimes the character would change direction with a single click while sometimes it wouldn't move no matter how many times I clicked. Happened especially at the bottom of the screen. The difficulty really takes away from the fun.

Parallel Universe by BlueSama 2014-08-26T17:51:00

Megaelliott already pretty much summed it up, but I did make some other observations too.

Inertia, or at least lots of it, on the player is usually a bad thing in game where control is important. After dying I could no longer control my ship and was only able to swap the background (don't think it affected the "mode") with my mouse so I had to restart the game.

The menus are also somewhat "noisy", it took me a while to figure out what I was looking at, and the fact that the credits and help pages closed absurdly on me didn't help much (took me few tries until I managed to read them :P).

Well, I made it to the sixth night, surely that at least annoyed the shadow lord, even if it wasn't enough to stop him! Nice aesthetic, but the gameplay could've used a bit more "something". Noli by chipcaramel 2014-09-10T16:54:00

Really nice mood and even though it was short I was very satisfied. Especially loved the rhyming, wish I could do it too (hehe).

There were a few bugs / things I didn't like too:
- Lonley?
- Mouse to move, space to advance dialogue, why not just make the whole game controllable by mouse.
- The characters would say the line about giving something to you even after they had already given the item to you. I think this broke the immersion more than the other lines they were repeating.

Too bad I already saw a playtrough at @AtomicVikings' livestream so I already know all the puzzles and such :P. Although each of the worlds had their own melody they got pretty repetitive after some time. Good entry nonetheless!

Soul Shepherds: Passing Ghasts by A-Flat Miner Studios 2014-09-13T13:41:00

Nice graphics and atmoshpere, although the voice overs get a tad annoying after a while. Really hard to play alone, got a bit over 60% herded correctly. Cool options menu, should've probably set it to something easier than the default mode before playing.

Replying to your comment on my game: I think it was because I hosted it in dropbox. Try the new mirror link and see if that helps :).

Thanks for the heads-up, I'll check your game out later in the evening when I have time!

Azuroj by Buttsteam 2014-08-26T20:17:00

Those three hours spent on coding an ass were probably the most meaningful moments anyone has ever experienced. Interesting victory screen too. Too bad for Mike though.

It's a solid entry, although the controls could be tighter and the difficulty more consistent (I had most problems with some of the early levels, maybe I just got good). Good job!

Muju Juju by bjorn 2014-08-30T19:07:00

I don't really like that the game forces you to die. Also the diffuculty jumped at some point and the enemies just oblitared me even though I was summoning as fast as I could. I guess I should've gotten some better upgrades. Nice atmosphere and the gameplay works too, could amp up a bit faster though.

La Roue de Fortune by ZNCatlaw 2014-08-26T19:35:00

Played it three times, and even formed the four required hands on two of those tries but I just couldn't figure out how to end the game (aka how to use The World I guess).

La Roue de Fortune by ZNCatlaw 2014-08-26T23:27:00

@ZNCatlaw: I thought it meant that the card can only be used directly after using La Roue de Fortune and having made four complete hands, but it just wouldn't let me use it :(.

La Roue de Fortune by ZNCatlaw 2014-08-26T23:32:00

Well, I just tried it again and this time it worked like I thought it would / how it was supposed to. Maybe I messed something up on the other tries. Now the game makes a lot more sense :P.

Ride to the Moon by CrefossusJam 2014-09-12T18:44:00

Definitely way too fast for me. At the moment all I can do is launch the hat and pray that I don't hit any reds.

I've Got the World On a String by kirbytails7 2014-08-27T16:32:00

Died just before the fourth boss with a score of 25.5k or something. The setting is really unique, and it masks the mundane task of basically picking up items as you trying to string together a bunch of planets to form a galaxy. I find that really nice. The mood was also really nice, although the random red scribbles were kinda out of place.

Supreme Tower Racing by Rex Peppers 2014-09-05T15:42:00

Got a time of 238 on my first try. Especially the later levels took a while because of the controls. Also the stage where you were so high that you couldn't see yourself after jumping was pretty awkward. Music (and sound effects?) stopped for me at some point, but what I heard was pretty decent. The connecting mechanic could've used for example numbering someone already mentioned.

Regarding your comment on our game: Sadly we can't give you a web version, but you can follow the newly added instructions in our game's description to play it on operating systems other than Windows.

School Schism by SusanTheCat 2014-09-15T22:01:00

Astral Finish! I mean... astral ending!

The idea of connecting the players in a visual novel is really cool, too bad I only saw one ghost during my adventure. It was also somewhat annoying that there was a slight lag after each choice, but I guess that is to be expected. Really cool compo entry and definitely one of the most innovative visual novels I've ever seen.

Damn I was bad at this, fixed the worlds with 73 total tries :P. Interesting concept though!

Emergence by geekygenius 2014-09-03T10:00:00

The basics are there, but it could use a bit of work. Here are my complaints / things I noticed in no particular order:
- How am I supposed to know that tanks can fly?
- I kept losing track of my units if I had units on more than one planet. Especially a problem with the portals, so I stopped using them pretty soon.
- Constant zooming in and out combined with moving the camera made it even more disorienting.
- Non-positional audio was also disorienting.
- Not much strategy involved, since everything builds instantly and you can't do anything about the tanks before they land. I didn't feel like "capturing" planets was that beneficial, so I usually tried to build five factories on my starting planet, fend of the enemy for a while and then just rush the enemy main planet, since the AI wouldn't usually expand either. Took me a few tries to get a hang of it and after that I won easily. Might have won even more easily if I was more aggressive at the start.
- Win/loss condition was a bit unclear at the start. I thought I would lose only if all of my planets were captured and vice versa.
- Even if the enemy tanks were right next to my tanks they would try to shoot around the planet and make me really frustrated.
- Tanks flying trough planets surprised me.

Still a decent entry considering it was made for the compo!

Milky Rain by hydancer 2014-09-10T18:04:00

Nice visuals, but I still don't really understand it after playing for three rounds. Sure, I can keep on shooting the "enemies", but eventually they will just crush me or so it seems.

Schrodinghost by Carduus 2014-08-26T18:52:00

Really reminded me of Ghost Trick, and that's always a good thing!

I have only a few minor complaints about the glorious package that is this game (apart from the obvious typos). In the first screen I got Maru to run in place and the controls were somewhat stiff all over the place (the ghost controls were fine though). The ham and the anvil not having a cool falling animation also broke the illusion somewhat. Really nice entry especially when it comes to the aesthetics!

GREGABO RENO by Pixelbear 2014-09-13T13:52:00

Yay, won on my second try. Nice atmosphere and the basic gameplay feels pretty good. The screenshake was a tad strong and the boss' blood-puke attack's hitbox didn't match the graphic, because the puke didn't always reach all the way to the ground.

Space Gate Command by Tifu 2014-09-10T07:12:00

Great idea, solid execution! The game works well, and is very enjoyable! Needs polish but is overall a very nice entry and I would love to see more of this in the future!

Intergalactopol by prophile 2014-09-15T15:41:00

Fun game, but seems like it gets very repetitive very fast. Maybe that Space Meth could make you money to buy upgrades or defenses? I hope you keep working on this, since this has the potential to be a great game!

City of Marble by strong99 2014-09-03T10:28:00

Took me the whole of first try to get the hang of it, but my second try went quite smoothly. My strategy on the second try was to rush for the control of the whole network, and research after that, instead of researching while expanding. Would be cool if the game paused during the research text so that the player could piece the story together while hacking additional nodes. There was even a fair bit of strategy involved especially with the overloading mechanic. It was cool to contain the enemy by overloading a strategic node and continuing to expand somewhere else. One bug I noticed was that I could click the research etc. buttons during the victory sequence.

DINO BOLT by GeorgeBroussard 2014-08-30T06:08:00

Good fun and well polished! The only gripe I have, is the sound of passing a wall. It got really annoying. Otherwise it was good, simple fun that might work well on mobile! Well done!

IN BETWEEN by Simon 2014-09-05T16:26:00

Read the whole description, tried playing it twice and then read the description again until I finally got it. The gameplay (really all about judging the distances of the monoliths) is pretty dull at the moment, but it sure is unique! The presentation is also lovely.

Great idea and a nice game! Very Thomas was alone-y, I like it! I would have liked some sound effects though, they make actions (like jumping) feel a lot better!

Haighstrom's Tug of War by Haighstrom 2015-12-17T20:06:00

Fun game! Simple mechanics, simple graphics and very smooth gameplay, great job! Any sound effects would have been a great addition, but it's still a fun game that I would like to see expanded! (Also the AI was a bit dumb but that's not really anything to worry about, it's a 48 hour game.) Oh and #TEAMBEARS
As a response to your comment on my game, I don't like the backronym either, I did when I was tired but now... Bleh :P

REACH by @SamPotasz 2015-12-15T22:05:00

The game was rather bland but the ending was very moody and great! Well done!

BAD WORMS by Moosefly 2015-12-17T20:07:00

@utgarda made with GMS, don't have any export modules so unfortunately only windows builds for now :/

GROW by Japes 2015-12-18T15:45:00

The jam entry was a bit lacking, but it had the potential and the post version is already a great base for a game. As ChiPassGames said a mobile version could be interesting: a tree that you can mold how you like when you have a spare minute or two, when not, it'll just gather light and water to be used later! Well done!

Slate by Ulydev 2015-12-17T19:49:00

Great fun game! It was overall an enjoyable game to play but as others have said, the arrows weren't quite as clear as they could've been! Well done!

The Tie Game by Dejvo 2015-12-17T19:09:00

Very well themed game! Simple fun. The liquid could've been a little more liquid-y. Well done!

SpaceHex by Sheepolution 2015-12-17T11:06:00

Once again, you went and made an awesome game. The only gripes I have, have already been mentioned (feedback, camera pan instead of instant roomzoom). Anyway a great entry which I will continue playing and hope to see expanded!

Wild Growth by Leon Möhring 2015-12-17T10:37:00

Beautiful, athmospheric and smooth. A great entry! Well done.
