I liked the room switching mechanic.

I liked the room switching mechanic.
Nice arcadey game.
Sweet. Excellent style.
I dig the style.
Nice job. I liked the lighting system.
The main character is a perfect example of minimalism in action.
Lovely little game. I liked the sharp graphic style.
Great use of the theme. I enjoy roguelikes.
I enjoyed the minimalist style. Very nice work. Spiffy lighting.
Reminded me of Marble Madness. I liked your stylistic choices. For example the way the soul enlarges before shrinking into nothing at the end of a level, and the diminishing white border representing time. Nice job.
Crazy cool style.
I liked the way you did the story. It had a 1980s feel.
Fun little bomb defusing game.
The graphics and style were very well done. Nice game!
Simple and fun, good job.
Nice game mechanic. Good job.
Very good game. Excellent work.
Mindless destruction is always fun. I really enjoyed the missile riding.
Strange little character - like a rolling bobomb. I like it. Is there some way to increase your time, or do you only get the ten seconds? I couldn't get very far.
While this is an idea i've seen used a few times, your version of "determine 10 seconds" is the best I've seen yet. Funny and fun.
Enjoyed your art and music. Good work.
That was pretty good. The art and music were very good. Gameplay was simple but fun. The varying sounds with the dialogue typing was a nice touch. Nice entry.
Excellent.
Interesting game. I enjoy in game shops.
Loved it. Great game.
Fun. Wall jumping is always enjoyable.
Doesn't run.
That was pretty neato. Nice work!
Interesting game. I really liked the mood. Though if in real life you ever find yourself actually starving to death because you lack money, you can always eat grub worms. They are freely available under rocks and cost no money!
This one was pretty excellent. I loved the art. The vomiting patrons was a nice touch. Good work.
The decent into absolute absurdity was awesome. Took me a few tries to figure out you had to press space to jump on the train. I kept outrunning it. Good game!
For some reason this game reminded me of tamagotchi. Nice concept!
Simple and fun. I liked it.
That was pretty hilarious. Amazing style. Simple elegant gameplay.
Not bad. Style was your best aspect here. Gameplay was a bit confusing and collisions a bit spotty.
Nice. Very fun, excellent style, and the music was top notch. I enjoyed the remix style of the music, and how the minigames were a wink and a nod to popular titles. Thumbs up.
Solid game. Nice polish. Good work.
I liked your graphics quite a bit.
Were you playing as Darth Vadar? That would make for an intersting premise. Nice game!
That was pretty hilarious. I liked how Ken could jump twenty feet in the air.
Reminds me of the C64. I really enjoy retro games. Nice work!
Wow, great style. A bit strange as a game, but the music, style, and mood were very good.
I enjoyed the old school quality. Reminded me of playing the atari.
I rather enjoyed it. The concept was pretty funny and the style was good. Would have liked some sound though.
Pretty neat. Kind of short though, but nice animation on the bars fallling out. Could use more game in your game, if you know what I mean.
Bonus points for being 3d. I got a perfect 10 seconds too.
Loved the art, and an interesting premise.
Interesting premise. It would have been nice if the timer didn't start until you began moving though. I always ended up losing time at the beginning for no reason.
It was fun. Being in three dimensions really helped make the challenges more exciting. The theme was a little basic though, but overall nice work!
Can the cube guy be beaten?
As a game this was just okay. But as a representation of style, art, and concept it is very very cool. This is in fact one of the best looking games I've seen on here. The style is unique, clever, and very well implemented. I think this would have been better suited to an interesting platformer instead of a simple racer where you run around the planet in circles though. Excellent work!
Loved the art style. Very excellent.
Of all the ascii based games where you collect defunct pieces of armor, this is the best.
NEat. Reminds me of worms.
Decent little game. I liked a lot of the ideas for mechanics, but the execution wasn't great at times.
It would have the numbers from the last attempt carry over. Sometimes you die because you clicked Engage at the wrong time. Intersting concept, nice execution!
I enjoyed the character and style quite a bit. Gameplay was satisfying enough for me to finish it. Good job!
Doesn't run. Could not find the main class:core.LudmDare27.Program will exit.
Best game I've played yet. Good job.
Very satisfying gameplay. The music was nice too. Only question is why is the .exe so freakishly big?
Played and rated, good game!
This game was pretty hard to play, but I liked it for what it was. Just needs more game.
The arterial spray made this game. Well done.
Doesn't seem to work.
You've managed to nail my favorite genre. Platformers featuring aliens who need a constant supply of cheese to survive.
Very nice art. The mechanic was pretty interesting too, and well executed. The game did crash on me though.
Spiffy game. I dig it.
Fantastic entry. I loved the style and music. I'm curious if there is any way to win, or if you always end up suffocating?
Graphics and audio were top notch. Game design was smooth and enjoyable. Great work.
Graphics are very good. Nice.
The controls aren't bugged, you have to press the corresponding number to activate your robot - number 1 for the main robo.
If you run out of time you have to press R. I shouldn't have counted on people reading the introduction. Bad conveyance on my part. Ah well, too late now. :D
Hey, thanks for playing! You actually raise the shield by pressing up on the keyboard. I realized the game controls were a little confusing and I didn't do a great job of explaining things. Live and learn though.
If you die make sure you press R! People seem confused and think the game is broken, but really I just wasn't very clear in stating that you ALWAYS HAVE TO PRESS R to restart. Hope that helps.
I don't want to ruin the levels for anyone by posting here, but if you still want to know you can email me at [email protected] and I'll help you out. Thanks for playing!
Thanks for playing! If done right things should be fairly easy to complete. You are most likely missing a few key ways to save time. The game is less about execution and more about what you do with each Robo. For example you can push Robos with Robo 3 to give them more time in the level.
Again, thanks for playing! Glad you enjoyed it.
My roommate would agree with you Dream of Sleeping. If I work on it after the compo I'll tweak it, but for now it is what it is. Sorry you found it so frustrating, but thanks for trying it out.
Neat game. I enjoyed the story you wrote for it. It reminded me of the old school side scrollers where the screen is trying to kill you.
This is the most interesting use of the theme I've seen. Nice work.
Very difficult, but fun.
I'm not a fan of how it makes me click again to restart. Other than that not bad.
Nice game. A little jerky at times, but solid entry.
Nice game here. Interesting premise, nice art and style.
Nice. Very polished. High marks for you.
Loved the music and style. Gameplay was fun as well. Good job!
I enjoyed it. The concept of living out someone's life quickly is pretty novel. I'd like to see that turned into a full game.
Good job.
Decent enough little game. I enjoyed the graphics most of all.
Interesting theme usage.
Thanks for joining the compo! Good luck to you.
I liked the style. REminds me of the old commodore games.
I really liked the art style.
It was a little confusing, but good.
Nice concept, good style. I like.
Dear lord that intro was painful.
I'm not going to lie, that was really weird. Very art school.
Kind of short and simple as a game, but I really loved the style! Good job.
Awesome music and style.
Really pleasant art style. The game itself was a bit simple and short though.
Awesome style. Reminds me of Shadow of the Colossus and SMB2.
I really liked the style. Music and art is very good. Game itself isn't so great.
Neat game. I enjoyed it! The art was very pleasant, but it could have used some sound.
Loved the music. Nice puzzle game to boot.
That was a very unusual game. I quite liked the style of t.
I enjoyed the game idea quite a bit. Good job.
Man, the speed at which you go up and down is ridiculously slow. Other than that neat concept and game.
There is a whole lot I really like about this game. Graphics and sound are very good, controls and theme seem excellent, and it's a fun concept. But it's ridiculously hard. Also it seems like you just do not have enough time if you took the gold since it slows you down so much. Nice job on it regardless of the flaws, a very solid entry.
Good art, nice sound, solid gameplay.
I enjoyed the graphics.
Nice. This would make a fun phone game.
I liked the look of the main character. Platformers are always right up my alley.
I liked that it's multiplayer. That was a good touch. I died on spawn a lot though, and the swinging of the sword was hard to get right.
I always wanted to be a fireman.
Clean. Simple.
That was... pretty awesome. I especially like the remixed children's song. Nothing beats swinging your baby from your umbilical cord into Lucifer's gaping maw.
What I liked: The music was good. The concept was an interesting stylistic twist on "get to the goal in ten seconds". And the minimalist graphics reminded me of the days of ascii as characters in games.
What I wasn't fond of: The game is kind of slow. It's pretty simple.
All in all a good entry. I enjoyed it.
It crashed when I pushed play.
Spinning ninja cube gets my vote. Good job.
Cool idea. My rooms ended up looking pretty atrocious in the end.
Nice entry. Style was great, and style is a big deal to me. Unfortunately I'm red/green colorblind and this was almost impossible to play. I could barely see the enemy projectiles coming at my face.
Graphics, music, and gameplay were all solid and polished. I enjoyed it. Nice work.
Nice art and style. I always enjoy a good point and click.
Not shabby. A bit depressing that you can't win though. I feel fated to fail.
Hey, that was actually pretty cool. A little short for my tastes, but I really enjoyed the vibe. Reminded me of Atari's Adventure. Nice game, thumbs up to you.
I want to rate this higher, because it's actually pretty cool to look at, but there's not really a game here. Nice engine though, and good job on the style. Pegasus looks like Jake the Dog.
I like it.
It no run.
Very nice. The style and graphics were excellent. Theme was solid too.
Nice game. I especially enjoyed the music.
I encountered a bug that crashes the game as soon as it starts level 3. I really enjoyed this game and would have liked to have finished it. Concept is great, sound is good, and the animation of the main character has a nice feeling of weight- reminds me of Flashback in that regard. Good job. Hope you get the bugs ironed out.
Nice game! It didn't want to close though, not sure why. Keep up the good work.
Nice. Fun entry for the jam. The art was well done, and the animations were smooth and enjoyable to look at. I was able to spam attacks pretty recklessly, so some kind of limiting factor would be helpful. It was cool to see a Javascript entry into the Jam, using your own engine nontheless! Extra points for that. Great work.
This was my favorite entry so far! Great work! The style was awesome, the gameplay was tight and interesting. I would buy this as a full release. Add a few more mechanics, some better sound design, maybe a level editor and drop it for $4.99 on steam and switch! Great work.
This game had mad style. The way everything moved around smoothly, shifted size, and panned really added depth to what was otherwise a very simple and clean style. I didn't completely understand the mechanics of the game, and was able to reach a score of about 800 simply by spamming the cards. The number of villagers and effects on screen drastically slowed down my computer. Other than that this was a really interesting entry to the jam. Great work!
Stylistically this game was fantastic. However, I was unable to progress anywhere. After I bought some upgrades for the jump, this did not change my abilities in the level and I was unable to find a way to equip what was purchased. Is this a bug or am I missing something?
-- edit --
I figured out I just needed to press ENTER to go to the menu. Derp. This game was excellent! Awesome job.
Hey, nice take on the theme! I enjoyed the simple mechanics and upgrade system. Some sound would have been nice though. Great work overall.
Excellent entry. I laughed, I cried, I wept deeply when the booby was just a bird. Not sure what else to say. Great luck in the jam.
Super cool entry. The mechanics were new and refreshing, the art was stellar, and the gameplay was simple and fun. Could have used some sound design, but great work!
Excellent retro feel. Sound design was really well done overall. Great work.
I really enjoyed that piano piece in this game. Very calm and unique experience. Thank you for making it.
This game was a very interesting experience. The aesthetics, and overall vibe were unique and the music was very well done. Creepy yet compelling. I just wish there were a little more to it. I finished the game in a few minutes, and the gameplay was somewhat thin. I took it more as a narrative driven experience, and at that it excelled. Thanks for making this, and good luck in the jam.
I enjoyed your entry. The music was unsettling, and the graphics were minimal but set a nice tone. :D I enjoyed the isometric view, and cleared out the first room but was unable to get past the locked door. I cut myself until I went insane, vomited, and turned into a monster.
I have a few suggestions. I would work on the depth hierarchy. Something as simple as "depth = -y" should keep it so your head doesn't go through doors and whatnot. Also, enemies probably should not be aware of you until you are within their line of sight, then once they are aware of you they can chase you mercilessly. Right now they will go after you as if they have seen you through walls.
Overall nice entry, and I enjoyed myself playing it. Extra points for making it HTML5. I tried to port my game to HTML5 and I got game breaking bugs.
Best entry I've played so far. Everything was top notch. I would enjoy this as a full release. The music and mood was excellent.
The graphics were simple, but very smooth and well done. Nailed the vibe. It's also one of the more interesting interpretations of the theme I have seen. Great job.
Very short, but I liked the dialogue. Actually having music was a nice touch too. Good luck!
Awesome little game. It gave me King's Field vibes. I once read that berserkers would consume copious amounts of psychedelic substances before going into battle, and from this game it appears that was true. Don't drink and ride folks.
The art and vibe was top notch. Was there only one level that just repeated? Seems a shame, you had nice mechanics and fantastic art. Or was I doing something wrong?
Really cool game. The style, art, sound and vibe were great. Thanks for making this one!
Great entry. I played it to the end, which is saying something. Fairly easy overall, but kept me engaged till the end. Nice work!
Really cool art style. The sound design could have used some variation. Something as simple as randomly modulating the steps would have broken the monotony. Gameplay was simple and easy to understand, but well designed. The platform was a bit painfully slow, but otherwise I quite enjoyed your entry. Thanks for making it!
So, I really enjoyed the vibe and art. That was topnotch. However, the text was very hard to read and I could not figure out what I was doing. Unique game, great art-style and vibe.
Very cool little game. The art style was clean and attractive, gameplay was pretty smooth. All it was missing was a jamming soundtrack. Nice work!
I managed 158 floors. The balance mechanic felt a little weird, but the idea was solid, and cleanly executed in terms of style. Nice entry overall.
Interesting little game. Thanks for making it!
Fun little game. Nice and short so I was able to play it to the end. Good luck in the competetion!
The gameplay itself was kind of rough. The frames were low enough that it was very difficult to read what was going to happen next. However the fact that you had people dress up to be characters in this game gives you massive points for style. Very interesting and unusual entry. Well done!
Nice little gem here. The sound design was very good, the art was simple but clean and punchy. Very polished asteroids clone with a twist.
The light/dark mechanic was an interesting one, and the character design was very well done. This felt like an anime come to life. The game was a bit too eerily quiet, but that can be expected from a gamejam game. I quite liked your entry. Nice work.
Interesting little platformer. Took me a bit to realize I had to bounce on the heads of the white guys. The unstable rocks were a nice touch, and something I was planning on adding to my own game. Fun entry, nice work!
Funny entry. I enjoyed how the ball would start to crack as you took on damage. Does it eventually break? I got to the point where I was allowed to relax, so I assume I won. Interesting entry, and nice work!
I'm not really sure if something was supposed to happen. I went to work, I slept. Sometimes I went to work repeatedly without sleeping, other times I slept without working. Nothing much ever happened. Was there more to the game than this one room?
The feel was nice and creepy. Some sounds and music would have elevated the experience. Having the player be teleported into the nightmare world for more gameplay would have been nice as well.
I'm a sucker for well executed pixel art, so great work there. The Gameboy style was spot on. I found the gameplay itself interesting in concept, but I has trouble with the controls as they felt a little clunky. Your take on the theme, and balancing the engines was a cool one. Nice work overall!
I'm a sucker for low rez pixel art like this. A nice little roguelike-esque adventure game. The stamina mechanic didn't seem to add much, since enemies didn't move or attack when you rested. It just forced you to stop and press R a lot. Also, the screen centering needs to adjust when you have claustophobia, otherwise you can't see where you are going. A stylish entry overall. Nice work!
What a bizarre and interesting entry. Firstly, 2 gigs? Yikes that's huge. This game had some really interesting effects. Nice work in such a short time. I really wanted to play this to the end, but after I got the nails, glue, and hammer I could not find a way to do anything else. Not sure if I missed something, if there was a bug, or if you just didn't finish the game. The last level where you are jumping over the video games made my physically sick and gave me vertigo, but was extremely unique and interesting regardless. Let me know if there is a way to beat this game, I'd like to see it through. Great entry!
Nice clean art style and interesting take on the theme. Nice work!
I liked the idea behind the game - avoid a minotaur who stalks you while trying to collect a treasure. This could have been improved by having the gem randomly spawn in a location each attempt. The minotaur was extremely difficult to avoid, and it might have been nice to have more tools in your toolbelt for dealing with him. Nice entry, thanks for making this game!
What a fantastic entry! The art was stellar, the mood and lighting great, and the soundtrack was excellent. Pretty fun and stylish infinite runner. Also, I really liked your philosophical game description. Life is, indeed, a train and one day we all get flattened. Nature takes us all out eventually. We must all struggle, and nothing comes for free.
“Now, here, you see, it takes all the running you can do, to keep in the same place. If you want to get somewhere else, you must run at least twice as fast as that!” - Alice in Wonderland.
Anyway, great work and good luck in the jam!
I enjoyed the style of your game, and the idea was unique. This game would have benefited from some indication of of progress when holding E. I was also unable to drain the water from the castle, even though I approached it from different angles. I think a progress indicator would really help player feedback here. Nice entry, thanks for making this game! Cheers.
Nice little entry. The menu's were clean and sensible. The platforming was a little rough around the edges. Took a long time to get the ball rolling, literally, and there was very little room for error. Fun game, thanks for making it!
Birds, birds everywhere but not a one to drink.
I liked the art. I'm a sucker for clean simple pixel art.
My school slid off into the water. A+ concept.
I really enjoyed the overall aesthetic of this game. Very unusual music choice but it worked. The art and gameplay was compelling enough to get to me to play all the way to the red bird - but after a few times of getting my tail handed to me I quit. Overall very nice entry. The jump animation was very fluid and smooth, and satisfying to watch. The weakest part was the theme, as the instability was essentially just HP. Would have been neat to have a rock/paper/scissors mechanic so you could effectively counter attack as well. Good luck in the jam!
This was a fun experience. The graphics were charming, the gameplay was simple but had a nice central loop with the upgrades. The vertigo and nausea however from the camera fixed to the table was a bit rough. Nice entry!
I loved the art style. Well designed, simple pixel art is my favorite style and this was very well executed. The platforming was a little floaty, but I enjoy a challenge. Great job!
Loved the music art, and overall vibe. The gameplay was challenging as well. Nice entry overall.
@frozedon
Thank you for playing. I agree, the game can totally smoke you for the slightest mistake. If I were to release a post jam version, which I may, I will make sure to add some extra invincibility frames.
@mistercheezymoon Thank you for playing my entry. My voice was pretty hoarse by the time I was finished. I was really channeling my inner Dragonball on this one. The gameplay needs work, for sure. I didn't really spend much time at all on the levels or tweaking gameplay, regrettably. By the time I had ironed out the last random mode I had maybe 3 hours to crank out content. Thanks again for playing.
@paperaeroplane555 Thanks for your feedback. I agree, the game needs a bit of a buffer between when the next phase is announced and it takes place, as well as some subtitles or text.
@firebelley Thank you for the feedback. Do you think the gravity just needs to be increased a little?
@adrenallen Thank you for your kind words. I think I'll post a version after the jam that's cleaned up. The game can be hypothetically beaten, but you have to iron man it. I will add a checkpoint so you don't have to repeat each scene. Thanks for playing!
@mickyhc Thanks for playing. The skeleton platforms float in lava, so you can usually get to one in time. The pits + super slippery are the worst.
@t-r-e-f-e-t-h-e-n Thanks for playing. All of the art was made during the jam. The only thing I did not make was the gui font. Like many jammers I didn't get much sleep.
@dis0rder Thanks for checking out my entry. I totally agree with all of your points. I ended up spending 90% of the time coding and making art/sound. The levels were slapped together with no time for tweaking. A few adjustments to the physics and timing between phases and I think this could be actually fun to play. Thanks again!
@elektroney Yep. The game can really unfairly screw you over. Needs more Iframes for sure.
Interesting concept. The room shifting was fun to watch in and of itself. The platform mechanics were a little abrupt, but an enjoyable entry overall.
Aesthetically pleasing, yet simple. I enjoyed it. Nice audio too.
Nice River City Random-esque game! Cool entry.
