You should win just based on the name, but the game was incredibly entertaining too! I Think that I managed to get to the end of the map, and it kinda glitched out, but the combo of the music and the swirling table was great!

Pretty hefty download there at 1.5gb, was a good game, love these types were you upgrade and try and get further each go - quite addicting. I would've maybe changed the camera angle to not be on the table like that as I often felt dizzy / motion sick when I got a wild spin.

morepixels 2021-10-05 02:44

Was pretty cool! The download was a little big though. Camera was a bit annoying hurt my eyes when watching everything flip really fast.

ivysly 2021-10-05 05:10

I can't believe you made me download this 1gb game just to make me throw up from motion sickness. You sick fuck Charming though. Can't believe you put the agdg logo in the corner after i told you not to! 10/10

>Can’t believe you put the agdg logo in the corner after i told you not to!

It's not like I asked you in the first place. :smirk:

I'm glad people seem to be enjoying it, with the camera decision being the main complaint people have. I fixed the size issues plaguing the first version and have uploaded a new one that's around 335MB and runs a bit smoother. It'd be easy to add a little checkbox or something on the menu for changing the camera to a more traditional style if the complaint keeps coming up. I just don't want to make changes to the game since the jam is over, it'd be like cheating. Just a little thing for the camera might be fine though since it's quality of life and not a gameplay change. I'm conflicted on the matter.

I kept coming back for more, to see how wild the camera would get and how far I could make the table travel. Twice I got it over 100 meters. I had a great time, thanks!

rodeseze 2021-10-05 10:56

The idea is very funny and the game in itself too but the camera and the bonus who are too expensive made me want to stop the game after 10 minutes when I could have continued it for another 3 minutes I think.

hadik 2021-10-05 19:09

Audio for me is not good, but not bad. Hmmm, somebody have very good idea for this theme, awesome. Chmm, the most addictive game so far, very fun game. Oh man, game art is goodlike!. Original game mechanics, I like your inovations. Overall that game is good, good job.

almightyzentaco 2021-10-05 19:15

This was a fun experience. The graphics were charming, the gameplay was simple but had a nice central loop with the upgrades. The vertigo and nausea however from the camera fixed to the table was a bit rough. Nice entry!

validdark 2021-10-06 00:32

@almightyzentaco @rodeseze @morepixels @osh-studio I uploaded a version that has a toggle for a different camera.

pixelydian 2021-10-06 01:22

Applause for the punny name. :) Really neat take on the theme and it was entertaining to watch the table fly and run into things. Great work and a fun experience!

g5-leonardo 2021-10-06 09:53

The idea behind the game is really funny  This can be a starting point for an entertaining game. I imaging it running on mobile.

For the camera, you can try to make it follows the table but not be attached to the table, and then just add some shake and juicyness when the table collide with objects. It's just my opinion but could be more enjoyable.

Good Job and keep dev!

I'm a fan of puns, and making a game out of it is fascinating. This game can work better if you add a nice feedback for everything a player can do (pressing a button, or the sounds of the table hitting something), to reward him for playing. Paying for powerups encourage the player to unlock them, and to receive more feedback while playing.

You had a good idea, keep working and testing!

pabulum 2021-10-06 18:13

This is a great take the Theme! As people have said the camera is a bit of a game breaker. Other than and a little bit of polish its pretty dang cool! Well done!

validdark 2021-10-06 20:16

@michelangelo There is a sound that plays when the table hits something, but yeah, there aren't many sound effects in the game, that's something I'll remember for my next jam. This is my first time doing Ludum Dare

hobzone 2021-10-06 21:27

Really good first try for a game jam and solo ! Really fun and weird game but original and entertainning !

copito 2021-10-06 22:15

HAha wow the camera and music just made this game, it was a crazy time i think if i'd played it in VR i would have really been sick xD

as a fan of the launcher Flash game genre when i was like 10 years old i believe im an authority when it comes to reviewing this game so if you'll excuse me: pretty interesting to see one of these in 3D, kinda nostalgic. i feel there's an important flaw here which is the sense of progression. these games are (were?) fun because you start out from doing almost no distance (as in this game) to getting consistently increasing ridiculous distances (compared to what you could initially do). but in this game, after you get a few upgrades (mainly flip strength, i think), it doesn't make much of a difference, you're always going to get more or less the same distance, and it doesn't seem to increase even if you buy more upgrades. further detracting from this is the fact table falls out of the 2D plane once it touches ground and falls over, leaving you unable to collide with any of the boosting elements, so it's pretty much up to luck how far you get, because 90% of the time, if you touch the ground it's over. disregarding the fact the camera might give you a seizure, it's pretty unsatisfying because you can't see the progress very well, even if you're actually moving forwards. i also have no idea what "Boost Power" and "Multi Hit" do. i'm assuming these would be skills that let the player actively boost the table during flight (something that is also lacking and makes it less fun) but i found no way to activate them.

the UI is kinda haphazard (stretched and reused textures etc.) but i'll forgive it for being a jam game, i don't like making UIs either. feel like using nine patch rects would've been an easy fix for making some things look better but i don't know how that works in unreal engine.

the whole thing with the title and the game fitting into the theme is pretty funny i'll admit, also the things that you have to hit and how they explode. camera is also a bit funny. also the bonus and animation for the table landing correctly is a nice touch

UE4Game-Win64-Shipping_2021-10-06_19-38-21.png

yeah the table clips through the scenery sometimes

donatello 2021-10-07 13:52

The idea is hilarious, and all the power ups you put makes you want to keep trying to flip the table to see what will happen, maybe you could implement the fact that foxes crows and mushrooms can be placed by players where they want so they can try to create their perfect route of explosions I think it could be something to keep into consideration if you wish to work further on this. Overall great work!

naymsayk 2021-10-07 21:02

Very funny, immediately approachable and perhaps I just happen to be in the mood to be flipping tables with the strength of a (presumably) cow person. I probably would have preferred just a flat camera (i did try the experimental one but it was a bit odd) and in all honesty all the wonky physics just added to the mood of the game.

chairshot-games 2021-10-12 00:52

Absolutely hilarious. Love the gameplay and the idea is so clever. Only thing I would recommend is to make the upgrades a bit cheaper. Really really fun and creative game. Great job!

drdrub 2021-10-13 04:38

LMAO great game, worth my time

Most creative use of the theme so far

pedrocoden 2021-10-15 18:39

nice game!

unidaystudio 2021-10-17 22:04

Fun game, keep it up!

gustavo-christino 2021-10-20 22:48

I finally managed to finish the gameplays and uploaded the game session for this game. I hope you like it and that my comments can be understood as those most interested in enabling improvements to the project.

Thank you for requesting this gameplay!

Fun game, but I do wish the table was a bit less stable.
