And still the fire burns by Erkberg 2021-10-07T16:44:58Z

Very haunting music and I felt so bad for the deer but overall a meaningful experience. I'm not a huge fan of "press up to jump" mechanics with space being the dash in general, because I end up pressing space to jump out of habit and running into the fire. The controller is a LOT better and I was able to beat the game. The ending was also touching! This is a nice platformer with a good feel and the difficulty progression was done well. Great job!

Hikari’s Journey ć…‰ăźæ—… — the umbral world by Junber 2021-10-06T23:45:52Z

Wow, this was incredibly deep and meaningful, especially for a jam game. There was so much story covered here, plus all the different forms of the game - this was a lot of work! I liked the old school atari style, and it was neat when it turned into a 3D version. I also liked the click the text section - it made an otherwise text heavy section much more interesting and interactable. I also could not get past the Sorting my Thoughts portion - the controls and requirements were unclear. But overall a very engaging way to tell your story!

BRIMSTONE by HolyBlackCat 2021-10-05T16:22:40Z

This is adorable! Definitely fits the theme of unstable with falling platforms and spreading fire. The art is great and the puzzle design was great too! The only problem I had is that I didn't realize it was a variable jump at first so I was stuck on the first level for a little bit *face palm*. I would seriously love to see this expanded in a full game. Great job!

That stable looks pretty unstable by pcmaster 2021-10-07T15:57:31Z

This is cute! I swear towards the end those horses were purposefully avoiding the stable lol. Graphics are simple but look nice and fit the game well. Great job making a game in 8 hours! Very unstable :)

ALL PLANED by Sirkovitch 2021-10-06T19:54:06Z

Love your passengers and their little voices! I like that you took the "unstable" concept of balancing weight on a teeter-totter and made it unique. Great game feel with overall graphics and music, easy to understand the core gameplay, and my 11 year old was able to beat it after a few tries. She says it was really fun and this is one your favorites she has played so far. Awesome job!

Jingoku by Skyeward 2021-10-05T03:15:38Z

A remarkable amount of content. I wish it had music that tied it all together. The Jenga portion was my favorite. The art was beautiful.

Dark Forest of Echoes by Tygrak 2021-10-06T23:14:07Z

I like the hand drawn art style! It gave it an "Undertale" vibe, which I assume you were inspired by based on the end sequence. I did find the walking back and forth a little tedious - maybe shorten the distances and/or speed up the player, or have other stuff to do in between, like finding clues about where you are, what's going on, or simple puzzles, etc. I also found the battle difficult and was unable to beat it - I feel like the player was moving a tad slow to dodge the "bullets" effectively. But it was crazy unexpected and psychedelic. Very creative take on the theme! Great job and I hope you keep making games!

Tol by Decentsauce 2021-10-05T20:53:14Z

Addictive gameplay and satisfying (and adorable) player feedback when a level is accomplished! Great take on the unstable theme (although the top made me want an ice cream cone :-P). Great level design and I think it would be awesome if you continued working and expanding this game! Great job!

little rats' big top by cakeknuckles 2021-10-04T22:39:40Z

Super cute and I'm a sucker for cheese puns! Would be nice to start with just one rat and then add the others as a progression system. Pause menu was a fun bonus. Great idea and use of the theme!

Elemental Slime by rayriver 2021-10-06T15:10:07Z

I love this idea! Great job with the onboarding/tutorial aspect of the game. Super easy to understand and play. Good difficulty progression in level design. The art style is also fantastic - cute elemental characters with a Zelda pixel art vibe. Music would have been nice! Overall great job and I hope you keep working on this one!

PTSD Fishing by KuKuRammus 2021-10-07T15:25:46Z

I really like reaction based games so I enjoyed this very much! I'd love there to be a little more to the game, like maybe rewards for catching certain types of fish, but I totally understand Game Jam constraints. Really neat and fun twist on a fishing game. Art is good and sound effects really do set the tone of both the calm and the PTSD portion. Now I really want to know this kitty's backstory! Clicked on your game because of the weird title and I wasn't disappointed. :)

CYBER LANCER by juegoman 2021-10-06T14:01:01Z

I like the vibe of your game! The music and the art went really well together for a cool look and feel. You have a really good start here to an expanded game, possible a dungeon crawler/rogue type? Great job team, and I hope you keep making games together!

Unsustainable by SaraJS 2021-10-05T23:58:06Z

As a patreon supporter, I'm probably a little bias but I really did enjoy playing your game! I had a moment where I said out loud "would be nice if I could select everyone in an area" and when I tried it and it worked I thought, of course Shaun thought of that :-P. Great visual presentation, overall really fun, and I would love to see you continue working on it and expanding it!

QA - The Game! by Chartle 2021-10-06T18:26:13Z

This is really unique and a great take on the theme. For being a game about QA, it played very well, felt solid and polished. I enjoyed the voice over lines and I had fun playing! Excellent job!

UNSTABLE [ Warning, PERMADEATH ] by benmcnelly 2021-10-05T15:46:26Z

SUPER COOL concept! Love the ingenuity. Sound effects were a little loud and I would have liked a little more visual feedback on if I got an item that helps my paranoia. But other than that it was very spooky and the paranoia effect did actually make me feel more paranoid as I played lol. Would love to see an expanded version of this game.

Space Station 8 by jessefreeman 2021-10-07T00:06:46Z

I like the limited color pallet! Great artistic choice. Very cool that you made a map editor. I think you'd get more players if you uploaded it to itch.io. Great work!

Ziggy Bungus: Pizza Delivery Simulator by skippuku 2021-10-07T15:48:07Z

Loved that unexpected into. Great sound design, and neat take on the unstable platformer. Art is great, I just wish there was some music! But very fun and addictive to master. Great job!

Stronkey Kong by 100th_Coin 2021-10-06T17:54:00Z

Music - Spot on. Loved the spin off of a beloved classic and it held its own as an original creation. I had my 11 year old play it and she did struggle a bit to figure out what to do, so some clearer instructions in game would be helpful. This was a lot of fun, adorable, and it's a great idea. Awesome job!

Frail Ascent by ql28 2021-10-05T14:45:44Z

WOW! I really loved this game, like I seriously am going to try playing it again later after I'm done rating more games. The environment and music came together really well for a calm, kind of somber mood. I literally got chills when the organ started playing and the tower began to rise. My only negative feedback is that the resources were a little difficult to see (maybe it's my monitor) with the grey against the blue sky. But other than that, GREAT entry and I look forward to seeing more from you guys!

Derpy the Unicorn by Vodzik 2021-10-07T00:21:02Z

The ending was worth the struggle and gnashing of teeth it took to get my unicorn up into the clouds LOL. I enjoyed being able to use a controller and this definitely fit the theme of unstable. Unicorns were adorable and great voice acting. Thanks for the light-hearted fun and laughing!

The Escape by Marin0104 2021-10-05T21:00:16Z

Wow this was hard! But it was a fun moment when I first started driving and the stage started collapsing and I was like "wooooooooah" and knew I was screwed lol. I really appreciated your discussion on how you used sprite stacking. Very interesting and I think it worked well to make a really neat game! Great job!

Schrodinger's Cat by jeroenpx 2021-10-06T15:54:16Z

I beat it! :) Really neat idea! It was a little confusing to get past the second room but I figured it out. But the first room was well done in teaching the player than you can pick up objects. I liked the shrinking mechanic. Good puzzle design that really made me have to stop and think. Overall you did a great job coming up with a unique idea and implementing it. Bonus: kitty is cute!

Don't Cry at Work!! by chelC 2021-10-04T22:26:19Z

So at first I thought, "oh it's Simon Says" but then it changed things up very quick! Cool concept and great use of the theme. Very fun and the "intrusive thoughts" were hilarious.

Unfabled by Kwiper 2021-10-06T19:29:29Z

Music was so epic! Beautiful game and I thought this was a unique play style. I let my 11 year old play it and she said it was "amazing and you could play forever in a fun way, beating your own high score." Attack sounds and visuals were awesome - bonus points for epic attacks like the fire beam. Great job!

Red Flag (Le Temps des TempĂȘtes) by Achiru 2021-10-05T23:33:19Z

This was AWESOME. Can't believe I haven't seen more "unstable sea" takes on the theme, because it's a great idea! AND this was very well executed. Great job on the intro and the sound effects were entertaining (poor seagull!) I had fun!

Super Clumsy Box Galaxy by ZachsButt 2021-10-05T16:55:53Z

"The spaceship is impressed..." This is a great example of how even simple textures and shapes can be made into a charming little world. Great difficulty progression for the platforming and I appreciated the well placed checkpoints. The only weird thing was that when I showed up to herd the space cows (or whatever they were called) it said I had herded all 5 so I guess they herded themselves?? Not sure what the gameplay was there. Other than that though the game was fun and I enjoyed your humor. I will be checking out your other games and I look forward to what you make in the future!

Nuclear Faith by jvolonte 2021-10-06T16:45:39Z

Cool take on the theme! I really got into this one and won :). Good difficulty progression with managing more and more nuclear panels. I like the art style a lot and the title screen was pretty epic with that T crashing in with that sound effect. Great polished entry and I enjoyed it!

Unstables by joonamo 2021-10-04T17:11:01Z

I laughed out loud several times. Cute and fun. Played it more times than I intended.

Office Novice by HermesEs 2021-10-05T20:32:10Z

I have to admit, I clicked on your game because of the meme dog. It did not disappoint! This was pure chaos and I laughed when the rock music started as everyone ran around panicking while still asking for chips and coffee. Cute style and overall neat, well polished game!

Haywire by Firebelley 2021-10-06T15:26:24Z

LOL this is awesome! lot of fun to play and good level design. Effects and player feedback are well done. I laughed out loud when the hat stuck around after I died. Music fit the theme and overall the game has a fun vibe. Great job!

Mint by Préda 2021-10-06T00:12:20Z

Wow, amazing pixel art! This had a great mood with the style and music. The gravity shift was a really cool moment and I enjoyed the alternate movement mechanic. I agree with someone else who said it would have been cool to have minigames to fix the ship, like Amoung Us style. Regardless, this felt like a fresh concept and I enjoyed playing!

Senatus by Matthieu Riboulot 2021-10-07T16:05:33Z

I feel like a Roman! Interesting take on the theme. Art and music are great and the mini games were all unique. Some randomization to change up the pathing would have been nice, also would have made things a bit more "unstable", but fun concept and I enjoyed it! Great job!

My Kid Is a Werewolf by fabioecco 2021-10-06T00:48:51Z

This was super unique and a neat take on the theme! Good design choices with art, music, and sound effects. I would have liked a bit more visual player feedback, like some sort of "hurt" animation, but I also understand the time constraints! Great work and keep making games!

Beer Quest by jepjoh2 2021-10-05T17:24:00Z

Neat concept! I did figure out how to brew beer but when I tried to give it to the villagers, nothing happened? I couldn't play much past that point because I died when I attacked a guard and also when I tried attacking the king. Not sure if the game needs an update or a little more direction but I'd love to finish. :)

Additional feedback: Maybe look into scaling your resolution so the pixel art remains crisp. It was a little blurry for me but a crisper look would really feed the retro vibe. There was a moment where I had Windows 95 nostalgia which was fun for me.

Overall great job! I enjoyed your humor and the overall look.

Kingdom of Chaos by AXLplosion 2021-10-04T22:54:02Z

Pixel art is great! Good difficulty progression. Definitely got more and more chaotic. I had fun!

Space Squabble by GoldenEvolution 2021-10-05T15:30:04Z

I really liked this! Great little cinematic intro, and introduction to the controls. Game was easy to pick up and play quickly. The conversations between the pilots were charming. I was determined to beat the game and I did! :) Great job overall and I'd love to see more of your entries in the future.

Hungry Bird by sksahu1 2021-10-06T15:14:35Z

lol this is cute! Love your art style. Music fits well, and overall a fun mood. Good work!

Trauma by AdamCYounis 2021-10-04T17:43:26Z

Great mechanic! Can't believe this was made in 48 hrs. Would love to see a post jam expansion.

Mercurial by Geryon Games 2021-10-06T15:21:04Z

This was really cool! Amazing job on the attack effects. Great player feedback, and the laser was very satisfying. Ground pound was also neat looking. Particle effects were pretty. You took relatively simple pixel art and made it very dynamic! Awesome work!

Big City Opossum by kenster 2021-10-05T17:58:50Z

This gave me a good laugh! Where did you get that music??? I loved the overall style and theme. I totally understand the time/resource limitations of a jam, but it could have used some more player feedback when attacking, interacting, etc. Even a one frame animation for the attack, or a single flash red when taking damage. But other than that, really fun concept and I'd love to see it expanded/polished up.

Big City Opossum by kenster 2021-10-06T00:39:25Z

@pimeko As a fellow composer, awesome job on the music! :) Especially love that title song.

The Lost in Wood by Zvyaga 2021-10-06T14:11:35Z

Very spooky! Great job on the environment and sound effects. I had a little trouble figuring out what to do after I collected the three objects but overall a solid build and great atmosphere!

Erosion by ChewieCB 2021-10-06T14:31:22Z

This is a really neat idea! Color representing a change of state made it an easy concept to understand quickly. The intro to the mechanic is well implemented with being unable to jump on the first platform right away. I liked the overall vibe of the game with the music and the graphic design choices. It's too bad your original player model didn't make it into the game but I think it still looks good! Great job and I hope you work on it some more!

Everything is Fine by Noire 2021-10-06T00:36:32Z

Wow...this was haunting but also an excellent representation of what it's like to fight addiction. I'm not usually big on interactive stories but this was moving and very well done. Excellent artwork and I thought the mechanics did a good job explaining a real world phenomenon, like difficulty concentrating. Great job and a very meaningful take on the theme.

Natura Disastia by Dedjo0 2021-10-06T14:53:50Z

What an interesting battle mechanic! This was an ambitious undertaking but I think you executed it well. I agree with some of the others in the comments that some player feedback would have helped a lot when clicking and such, but the overall design of the UI is a good layout. The art and music are really nice as well! I hope you keep working on this game. I think it has a lot of potential!

Prodosia by Morhailen 2021-10-06T23:58:07Z

I don't speak (Russian?) but that voice acting was incredible. After I played I saw the comment that I could apparently switch to English. The art was absolutely stunning. My one criticism is that the white text was hard to read against the background. This looks like it took a ton of work and its amazing you got it done in three days!

Drunk Hill by Jvdwijk 2021-10-05T21:07:20Z

LOL great job on the "drunk" effects! Definitely felt "unstable." Neat concept for the theme and the voice over wad hilarious. Music was charming as well! Good work team!

Unstable Pinball by T C 2021-10-05T22:56:29Z

Solid pinball game! Very good art and general presentation. I would have liked some music but overall a really interesting and neat twist on a classic game.

MANIC MELTDOWN! by David Bohan 2021-10-05T15:12:27Z

Overall a fun and hectic platformer! I was a little confused at first but it didn't take long to remember the directions and address all the issues. Good player feedback when a problem was fixed. I liked the difficulty build that when the electricity is unstable is affects the other rooms. The pixel art and style are great. The newspaper game over screen is a fun touch. Great work! Would love to see more from you guys.

U-49 Meltdown by Blue Pin Studio 2021-10-05T18:55:17Z

Great game! Couldn't stop until I had beaten it :-P. The audio logs were a nice touch - awesome voice acting! Music was great too. I liked the stream of falling platforms. It made this type of unstable platformer more unique. Overall fit the theme of unstable very well. Great work and I hope you guys keep making games together!

Hellblocks by Thooom 2021-10-05T19:15:39Z

A cool and "unstable" take on a classic! I literally said out loud "noooooooo" when my blocks fell off the edge. Good design choices of music with the mood and feel of the game. The exploding blocks were extra fun. I would have liked a little extra visual feedback of where my block would fall (like maybe a "ghost" on it's target? or the light beam being only as thick as the actual block?) but overall satisfying to get blocks to stick and and very fun. As an added compliment, my husband walked by, saw me playing it, and asked to take a turn. :-P Great job and I hope you keep making games!

Trenchrunner by curleysam 2021-10-07T14:55:48Z

I'm a huge fan! Fantastic game mechanic. I like that there is a limitation on how many times you can shoot so you're not just button spamming. Difficulty progression was done well and the boss was a neat finisher. Art style and music were effective at setting the mood. Solid, polished game! Great job!

Snowbody's Mountain by WeAreDev 2021-10-06T16:59:01Z

THE MUSIC <3. I majorly dig this game. Extra props for the "death" sound effect matching the music. This game is hard but in a good way. I'd love to see this expanded into multiple levels. I think you have something good here!

Rolling Home by memoryFloater 2021-10-06T22:45:38Z

I got really excited when I realized that the tilting of the world controlled if the enemy was coming for me or not. Neat mechanic! Main characters are cute, although I did find it difficult to switch between controlling them and tilting the world. I felt a little like a pretzel! Would be cool to see this modified for a tablet/phone where you tilt your device. Fun idea, executed well! Great job!

Tables & Tremors by SlimmerBurger 2021-10-06T19:40:08Z

This was a really unique, crazy, and fun take on a 3d platformer. It was very satisfying to punch tables lol. The red "death" screen was a little tough on my eyes but the overall feel of the game was great. The sound effects worked well and I think you have a potential expanded game here! I hope you keep working on it! Excellent job!

Hellbamb by Alopar 2021-10-07T14:33:20Z

Love the art and style of this game! I wish it wasn't so trial and error - clues about the order would be nice. It seemed like it wasn't just about which souls you put in, but also in what order? Which creates a LOT of different possibilities and a lot of time spent for the player to randomly come up with the right sequence. My two cents about good game design in general, weigh the chance of success in favor of the player. ALl that said, you have a great thing going here with the atmosphere and concept. Some tweaking to the gameplay and this would make a great mobile game!

Unstable by DevParty 2021-10-06T17:33:14Z

Easy to play! Gotta love a game jam that is super easy to understand, and has a nice challenge. I love your art, although it's a bit blurry? I'm not sure if that's on purpose or a resolution scaling problem. Personally I prefer the look of the crisp pixel art but overall I liked the retro vibe. Cute character in a balloon. This would take a lot of patience to actually beat, but great work!

Helico Pter by 3LSTMsInATrenchcoat 2021-10-06T19:02:53Z

This reminded me of playing QWAP lol. Really difficult but I could see becoming addicted to trying to get better at it. I like the simplicity of the art and overall a great concept! Awesome job!

Banana Jack by Moritz14 2021-10-06T18:49:07Z

Great puzzle design! I let my 11 year old try and she had a lot fun with it. Overall cute game, good concept, and I think there's a lot of potential here for an expanded game. Good job!

No hands Dorifto by Gorypixels 2021-10-05T23:03:35Z

10 hours?! Great job - super fun and addicting! Art is really good. Would have liked some music but...10 hours lol.

Frosty Wobble by Ghuyajil 2021-10-05T15:00:42Z

Solid little platformer! I liked the level design where you teased me a little bit with snowflakes that I couldn't reach, and then it was oh so satisfying when I could get them. :) Had a few little bug issues with the penguin walking backwards but it sorted it's way out pretty quick. Overall cute game!

Bob's Underworld by chesschaser 2021-10-05T14:22:50Z

I enjoyed this a lot! Felt polished and I thought the music, art, and design came together nicely. I did have the game get stuck a few times after I died and I had to refresh. BUT I actually wanted to refresh because I wanted to keep playing! :) Great job!

Scrap Pilot by BjornStahl 2021-10-05T22:40:34Z

I was way too excited when I got my poorly designed contraption to successfully land on the target. Then my husband saw me playing, asked to try and wouldn't give me back my computer for like 30 minutes lol. Rockets could have had a little more power, but really neat concept and really fun. You could definitely expand this into a full fledge game. Awesome job!

Boat History by etrealjunior 2021-10-07T14:07:08Z

This is easily one of my favorites from the Jam so far, and I've played a lot. The music is beautiful (is that you singing??) and the art is so peaceful and warm. My only nitpick is the "mixels" - the resolutions matching more consistently between your art would add a lot to it's polished feel. Regardless, your game is both relaxing and challenging, and the mechanic is unique! This game is the whole package of look, feel, level design, and innovation. Fantastic job!

A day in a life of an electric spaceship owner by spacecadet 2021-10-04T17:23:38Z

I liked the attention to visual effects. Game has a good rhythm once you get going. Loved the cinematic intro.

Hopin by Vishwah 2021-10-07T16:55:16Z

Nice platformer! I liked how you changed camera views and I felt overall there was a good difficulty progression of the levels. Cute character! Good job!

Un-Stabled by Denhette 2021-10-06T19:12:47Z

WOW lol. This is so nuts but hilarious fun. Love the art style and the sound effects ("apples"). I foresee the speed run community enjoying this game!

Super Mutant Horse by cannashblue 2021-10-05T21:29:33Z

Spider horse with Mission Impossible music vibes - I'm loving it lol. My 11 and 5 year old both started laughing as soon as they saw that horse fly across the screen. Sound effects are awesome. Gameplay is a little difficult (I kept getting the capsules stuck in the corner) but overall a really fun and original concept. Great job!

Crazy Cauldron by Quite Good 2021-10-06T21:56:56Z

I like that your game used more complex color theory than the rudimentary color wheel. Great music, great art, and great vibe! I let my 8 year old try it, and he got a score of 414. I did have to explain to him how to play so my suggestion is if you continue working on this game, build up the difficulty over multiple levels or have small missions that a child can easily follow. Most children learn about the color wheel by kindergarten but the advance color theory may need to be taught to them. But hey, what a cool way to learn color theory! :) He said it was fun btw! (he's a child of few words in general but he won't lie lol). I enjoyed playing this and I could definitely see this being sold on the app store.

Pot Shots & Whiskey by CinderBlock 2021-10-07T16:19:49Z

Great concept! Audio/sound effects would have really helped with the mood and with player feedback, but the art is spectacular. Very interesting mechanic. If you keep working on the game, I'd try to introduce the mechanics in pieces because it's a bit much to grasp at first, but maybe some of that would be helped with audio feedback helping me understand that I was playing correctly. Overall great idea and I can see a lot of potential here as a fully polished game! Great job!

Psycho-unstable Journey by KenForest 2021-10-06T17:21:46Z

Really spooky and unsettling atmosphere! Jump scare was effective. I felt like a distracted driver reading the text at the bottom of the screen, although that kind of added to the paranoia that something would happen while I was driving. I liked the art style and you did a great job with all the psycho effects. I personally would have liked more interactive gameplay but I also understand what you were going for. Goose was random and funny. Great job!

UTNU (Unstable Table Named Uns ) by Neshtyak 2021-10-07T13:40:08Z

Table QWAP :-P Very cute spin on the theme. The art and music are adorable together. It's a fun challenge and the game feels solid and polished. Great job!

Orbit by Wuppos 2021-10-06T22:18:54Z

I really like the limited color pallet! The music reminded me of the old "Commander Keen" soundtracks. Overall it was a good look and feel for the game. Unstable orbit is a great take on the theme, I just couldn't overcome it! It was a bit too difficult for me but some games are going for that difficult, practice till you master style. Great job!

MISHIT by Holy_Doggo01 2021-10-05T16:36:11Z

Really neat idea! I think it would be cool to have some sort of penalty for shooting when the bar isn't red, but it's a neat limitation. Great level designs that worked even with a simple textures. I didn't even mind the enemies being cylinders because it reminded me of playing the old original Gameboy Game "Faceball" (now I'm showing my age lol). Check it out sometime - for future games you can go a long way making geometric shapes feel like real enemies by just adding an emoji face to them :-P. But that's just an idea that may or may not fit your style! Great job overall and I look forward to playing more of your games in the future.

Going Home by lb01 2021-10-06T01:30:17Z

This is really neat! Visually I love the footsteps, and combined with the music this had a great look and feel. I was a little confused by the camera seemingly following the enemies? Not sure if that was part of the "unstable" element but I definitely felt lost in the desert. :) Overall beautiful game with unique gameplay!

Wreckless Bar by XariusExcl 2021-10-05T21:50:31Z

Very cute take on the theme! I like the pixel art a lot, particularly the sleeping kitty and the expression on the waitress's face. Your music, art style, and mechanic all came together very well! Fun challenge and something anyone can pick up and play.

Brek: out by Mika314 2021-10-07T15:36:59Z

Your game is the first I've given a 5 for humor. This was genuinely hilarious and I literally laughed out loud. It's hard to give constructive criticism to a satire game, but if I could nitpick anything, the snake level could have been scaled larger. Other than that, really cute idea. Thanks for an entertaining entry!

Wob the (Wobbly) Builder by korfi 2021-10-07T16:13:33Z

I like the twist on a classic! It was a little unclear what was a foundation block at first but I figured it out after I failed the first time lol. I feel like this could be expanded into a much larger, complex game. If you do work on it some more, maybe find some more energetic music. Graphic are well done. Good work!

Clammy and the Seven Seas by IanTheBee 2021-10-07T00:31:56Z

Cute little game! The pixel art is adorable and I love the duck. <3 I had a little trouble figuring out what to do - I didn't realize I could go off screen at first. But overall very nice!

Stable Inc. by CorbenG 2021-10-05T16:05:21Z

Pressing buttons is so satisfying :). Neat concept with the manual! Not sure if there was a fail condition but the alarm was going off pretty fast for me. The third level was intense! Good difficulty progression and everything came together nicely for a good look and feel.

Advice to future players: Look over the manual before you start! :)

Wobbly Penguins by bqq 2021-10-07T15:13:04Z

First I know some people find the content warnings to be spoilers, but thank you for doing so. I sometimes let my children play "kid friendly" jam games I find since they're usually hanging around while I'm rating, and if I have a heads up that something may be upsetting I save it for when they're not around.

Really unexpected twist though! The first portion of the game was solid in and of itself and makes a good puzzle game, but good job with the unsettling atmosphere of the second portion. I don't really understand what was going on but it was disturbing lol. Overall great art and music, and you succeeded at subverting my expectations. Good work guys!

Un-stabled by Shaggy 2021-10-07T14:43:59Z

Definitely fits the theme of unstable! I like the added mechanic that the chickens were lifesavers for the horse. Controls are a little floaty but the art and concept were engaging. Good job guys!

Overpowered by njs 2021-10-05T20:19:18Z

First game?? Wow! Great job! Addictive gameplay and fun concept. I would have liked a little more visual feedback that my power was "growing" but other than that it is a solid and well polished game. Keep it up!

Baba Yaga by Teegan 2021-10-07T00:50:58Z

Love the art/style of your game! Super quirky but a neat movement mechanic. I haven't seen anything like it! Great job!

Sliced Ice by Void4 2021-10-04T23:10:05Z

Neat idea! Good difficulty progression. The fish moving under the ice is a cool visual effect.

Stonx! by Gastar 2021-10-06T14:45:08Z

Really unique idea! I love the take on the theme - definitely an unstable game. :) I found myself really getting into it and saying "Buy buy buy" out loud lol. Overall the graphic design really fits the mood of the game. I like that it's challenging but also doesn't take itself too seriously. Great job!

An's Table by Iacopo 2021-10-07T16:27:20Z

Unique and interesting take on the theme! Could have used some sound effects for player feedback, as I wasn't sure at first if my customers had received food. If you keep working on this, I'd embrace the chaos and have more particle and sound effects for the bullets. But great concept of balancing customer satisfaction with defense. Lot of potential here, and great job getting done what you did for a jam! It's an accomplishment!

Wobbly Warbler by EricFreeman 2021-10-06T18:56:52Z

Fun idea! Not what expected from the cover art but that's part of its charm. :) Had a little trouble with the controls when not in full screen mode, but once I got into full screen mode it all worked great. I liked that there was some strategy involved in winning a fight, rather than just spamming buttons to win. I liked the art/style and overall great entry! Good work!

Uns' Table by ValidDark 2021-10-06T01:22:59Z

Applause for the punny name. :) Really neat take on the theme and it was entertaining to watch the table fly and run into things. Great work and a fun experience!

Unstable Piles by nulldreams 2021-10-06T16:17:33Z

Really neat idea! Do stacks not count as piles? I thought I met the clear condition (then I reloaded and tried again) and I couldn't seem to pass. But I really like the art and mood of the game. The music goes really well and it has a peaceful mood. I do hope you keep working on it post jam!

Luna's Painful Pastel Promenade by GuessImLuna 2021-10-06T14:20:46Z

It didn't take long for me to rage a bit but I think that was the point lol. I like the art style and level design, and I'm glad to hear you're going to keep working on it post jam!

Soob's Farm by Sorrysaurus 2021-10-07T13:50:45Z

Love the Halloween themed game for October! Seriously haven't seen enough of those this Jam. I really liked this concept and I found it quite fun. Would have been nice to be able to upgrade the watering can limit? Other than that, beautiful game and you did a great job!

Dubious mushrooms by ocwal 2021-10-06T01:17:03Z

Fun take on the theme! The art was neat, music was good and overall you created a calming mood with urgency lol. Interesting mechanic with the mushrooms growing in different conditions but also rotting if you left them too long. Overall great entry and great job!

Flower Lab by Justin Gagnon-Lavoie 2021-10-21T14:02:06Z

Fun idea! Definitely could have used a tutorial...even small cues like a speech bubble or an arrow can go a long way to guide the player. Also I ran into some collision issues but I think you're already aware of that. Anyway, I think it's a great start and I hope you polish it up after the Jam is over! This idea is worth exploring further.

UR TNT by ADerpyChickenStudios 2021-10-06T00:57:36Z

Awesome job! I'm not a huge fan of "press up to jump" in general but I did appreciate being able to detonate early. Great take on the theme and a cute character! Overall a solid build. I hope you keep making games in the future. :)

Bomb's Lair by Vetche Studio 2021-10-05T19:53:50Z

This was like classic Zelda meets classic Bomberman and I LOVED IT. Great look, great music, and great level design! Hate to admit I got stuck on level 13 and if someone could throw me a hint I'd love to finish!

I did find a small error - "left?" lol.

I'll be checking out your other games! Keep it up!

Bomb's Lair by Vetche Studio 2021-10-05T21:19:29Z

I finished! :-D Thanks for the hint and the ability to skip back to level 13. :) Satisfying to complete! :)

Where's My Tripod? by Pixelydian 2021-10-05T18:23:38Z

@corbeng Thank you very much for your feedback! I shortened the game right before the submission deadline and I agree with you. I think it's a lot better to have less film and to play twice than to have one long session. :)

Where's My Tripod? by Pixelydian 2021-10-05T18:34:03Z

@holyblackcat It was supposed to simulate shaking hands/instability BUT my randomizing math sometimes does have some wonky results lol. Good job on your score! I updated the game after you played (before submission deadline) and now you currently hold a score that is 10 points higher than possible :-P. Thank you very much for your feedback!

Where's My Tripod? by Pixelydian 2021-10-05T18:36:35Z

@zachsbutt you are absolutely right - the "film" and "score" look a ton better at the bottom of the screen. I fixed it right before the submission deadline! Thank you very much for your feedback!

Where's My Tripod? by Pixelydian 2021-10-07T18:34:21Z

@jose-bonilla how so if you don't mind explaining? Mainly I'm making sure the audio worked for you. Thank you for your feedback!

Where's My Tripod? by Pixelydian 2021-10-07T21:13:26Z

@jose-bonilla You are awesome for giving it another try! Yeah I'm still trying to fix the web sound issues (it seems to only happen on some devices, like ios). I will be checking out your game later today :)

Where's My Tripod? by Pixelydian 2021-10-09T18:31:55Z

@molpe Thank you so much for playing my game! You got REALLY close to "professional" (pretty sure it's 160). I really enjoyed watching you play! That was awesome. :)

Where's My Tripod? by Pixelydian 2021-10-12T20:55:23Z

@failuer Color of the view finder. red is bad, yellow is good, green is best. :) Thanks for playing!

the cards we're dealt by rainedoe 2021-10-06T00:20:48Z

Aww, this was so charming! Relaxing take on choose your adventure. Pixel art was beautiful (it's why I clicked on the game!) and combined with the music it all came together to make a really warm experience. Awesome job!

Paper Route by OllieOA 2021-10-05T02:50:06Z

Had fun flinging paper everywhere! I had to use the number keys to play each level :) couldn't beat 3 Loved the man's comment about the trailer :)

Unstable: Save a Herd of Horses by Alex Chertilin 2021-10-06T16:23:41Z

Oh noooooo the horses are ON FIRE! D: Pixel art is adorable and I felt so bad for the crying (and burning) horses. I've seen a couple of "un stable" takes on the theme but this was a unique idea! Good music and it all came together for a neat little game. Good job team!

The Leaning Tower Of Pizza by erikengineengineer 2021-10-06T18:06:08Z

That pizza drop sound effect was hilarious. I know some have complained about it but I kinda liked it lol. I let my 11 year old play your game and she fell to the floor saying "nooooooooooo" as her gigantic tower hit the ground. She says "simple game but fun!" Easy to play, good increase in difficulty, and the slow-mo death was entertaining. Good style over all and it fits the theme. Great job!

Usher 651 by FromTheChasm 2021-10-05T18:17:23Z

I actually really like these "experience" type games and this one was pulled together quite well - especially for a 2/3 day project! I thought the music went really well with the story. It was a sort of haunting feel. Great job and I look forward to seeing more from you in the future!

Angular momentum by VicoPTP 2021-10-05T23:23:47Z

Great take on the theme! So at first I kept trying to take the blocks out and they'd just fly across the screen? Which honestly was entertaining in and of itself but I did figure out how to take them out "gently" lol. I had fun and I hope you keep making games!

LD50 — Delay the inevitable

Demon Sigil by Justin Herrick 2022-04-07T21:43:42Z

I liked the two types of attacks - very satisfying! I would have liked the gun to actually point in the direction that you are shooting - an easy and fast way to do this is to make your gun a separate sprite, sync up with the player's origin, and the sprite can rotate based on the direction of fire. But overall I really like the pixel art and style with the skeletons. Good map size and good gameplay! Good job!

Word Game by paruthidotexe 2022-04-07T19:59:30Z

Is this unfinished? Wrong build uploaded? Or could you maybe update the game with a few more instructions? I'm genuinely interested in playing, I'm just not sure what to do. But for what it is, you have a nice presentation with the letters and the board. I would like for the letters to snap into place and a satisfying "click" noise. You have a great start.

I will check back later. You are welcome to send me a message if you update. :)

Delay the dancing fire by squirrelsoft 2022-04-06T18:34:23Z

I like this take on the theme! I was a little confused how to play at first but it didn't take long to figure out. The music and sound effects worked well to create the mood. Great job!

My happy weedy farm by Marin0104 2022-04-06T17:38:14Z

Awww, this was a very sweet and endearing entry! Would have appreciated a tutorial so I wasn't stumbling around at first, but it's nicely polished and overall a relaxing, fun little experience. Great job!

Anya's Valley by nardandas 2022-04-09T02:02:18Z

Love the animation on your player sprite. Also loved the dramatic entry of the bulldozers. This was a tough but very compelling game. I definitely wanted to save those animals! I appreciated the little E above the animals for interaction. I wish the text would auto complete rather than skip to the next line when pressing E again, as I kept skipping dialogue by accident. I also would have liked a little more tutorial/explanation on the action options. These are small nit picks though and I feel like your game was a solid little polished package. Great job!

The Flower of Marasca by F1Krazy 2022-04-06T17:50:57Z

Great example of a compo game keeping to scope and providing a polished experience! I'm not usually a fan of "spooky" or depressing themed games but this has it's own charm. I'm not sure why others found the music annoying - it was very nostalgic of the Atari games I played as a kid. My husband asked me to make a list of my favorite games for him to try later, and you've made the list! :)

A Last Stand by RustyMonky 2022-04-07T20:53:39Z

Fun concept! I died to my own spikes lol. I would have appreciated a little more tutorial (it took me a little bit to figure out how to swing my sword) but other than that I got it pretty quick. Great job for solo work - art works well and everything came together quite nicely. I think you have something expandable here and I hope you keep working on it!

Wild Deuce Chase by anchoredtoad 2022-04-06T18:23:19Z

Literally said out loud "WTF is happening" but I laughed. So much ridiculousness in one package (quirky music, a goose smacked me with a bat???) but I enjoyed myself. Great job!

Recycle This! by Raphiell 2022-04-08T02:30:40Z

I appreciate your great tutorial! I really enjoyed your humor in this game. :) I would never think sorting trash would actually be fun lol, but you did a good job of getting right into it and providing a challenge right away. Great job!

The End by pommicket 2022-04-07T19:51:19Z

I like your take on the theme! Strategy with a little bit of magic is fun world building. I appreciated the player feedback touches like the ghosted item to indicate placement. My only request would be that the ash go a little faster to raise the stakes. Maybe the wizard could run faster. Speeding up the pace would polish this up real nice. But other than that, great job!

My Last Hanami by Mahjoub 2022-04-08T02:56:37Z

I feel like I just played an Atari game from my childhood featuring Uncle Iroh from Last Airbender. This was really interesting and unique! Kinda zen and quirky at the same time. Mechanics are introduced well and you don't feel like you're just thrown into the game. Art style is really nice and with the music make a really great atmosphere. I enjoyed myself! Great job!

Fool's Gold by CharlesSchar 2022-04-07T21:00:50Z

Great puzzles and an entertaining concept! My only critique is that I am just not a fan of pressing up to jump - but that's a personal preference. I naturally try to press space to jump. But other than that I felt your game was easy to pick up and play. I enjoyed myself! Great job!

The Lost Daughter by Lpax 2022-04-08T01:28:02Z

I like your story! I don't know much about RPG maker - how much control do you have over things like depth and collision? It seems like your collision box takes up the entire square of the player sprite. In top down, if you make the collision box only take up the bottom part of the sprite you can create some depth and allow for sprites to overlap and give the illusion of a 3D space. Perhaps there is an RPG Maker tutorial out there covering this topic? Just some thoughts to consider! Overall your lever layout was quite nice and your characters very interesting. :) Good job!

The Lost Daughter by Lpax 2022-04-08T02:46:37Z

I have heard about people altering the code within RPG maker to do all sorts of things (like even making a farm sim) but I'm not sure if it's worth it if you know how to use Godot! Look forward to seeing your entry next time. :)

Parcel Run by JoeShanahan 2022-04-07T19:41:30Z

THANK YOU for a proper tutorial! It doesn't take much to provide important instructions within a game and you did it very well. Cute concept and take on the theme. Good polish and overall great entry!

Last Bastion by sansman01 2022-04-07T20:29:48Z

Genuinely fun! I clicked on the game because I'm drawn to good art, but this was a great all around package. My only complaint is that the jump felt a little like I was hitting my head on an invisible ceiling. But overall great entry and great job!

Delay the Inevitable by Gix 2022-04-07T20:06:29Z

I appreciate the simplicity with an interesting twist on a classic. Personally, I would have loved a pixel art style for some extra nostalgia, maybe even a simple old school color pallet of green and black. Seriously, a little bit of tweaks on the visual design and I think you have a great mobile game here. Lots of room to expand and create more challenges. Overall a great mechanic and I think you should keep working on it. Great job!

Cosmic Castaway by Perrin 2022-04-07T19:33:17Z

Loved the nostalgia of this game and style. I didn't beat it because I got stuck, but perhaps I'll visit it again later and try again. :) For what I did get through, very good execution and you captured my attention from the start!

Cursed Ronin by Kaljal 2022-04-07T21:20:30Z

First of all, very impressive for a first jam. It is impressive to get ANYTHING across the finish line and there's a lot of great things here. Things that I loved - the art style, overall concept, and take on the theme. Obviously I wish there was sound but I know that's a difficult resource to find.

Some suggestions for the sword animation and attack - my hunch is that you based the attack hitbox on the sword swing? Sword attacks typically only have one frame of "wind up" or they even go immediately into the full swing on the first frame. Having multiple frames of pulling out a sword results in a sluggish attack, and players typically want to cause damage the second they hit the button. The general rule of thumb is that the player should attack immediately with little to zero "wind up" and enemies should be more sluggish and have more "wind up" to allow for player response. I'd check out some pixel art tutorials on YouTube that specifically address attack animations and how to match them up well with your gameplay.

Great job though and I hope you keep expanding on this game! A little more polish on the art and speed up that attack, and I think you've got a really great project. :)

Against the Dying of the Light by Celtican 2022-04-08T02:19:30Z

What a great experience! This is an all around awesome package of beautiful art, interesting graphics (like the snow and the shadow tracer), ambient music, and heart. Your opening dialogue set the scene well without being too much to read. The only thing I can think of that it needed was maybe more clarity that you use the axe just like how you gather twigs. It took me a little bit to realize I could chop down trees just by pressing E. Although, that's just me nitpicking. Great job! :)

Five Knights in France by Pixelydian 2022-04-06T17:53:11Z

Thanks @gandelianna, I was stressing that I wouldn't be able to compose anything fast enough that fit the game! Thanks for playing and I have yours on my list to check out today!

Five Knights in France by Pixelydian 2022-04-08T00:16:34Z

@gardenovena Thank you for the very thorough feedback! I really appreciate it and I agree with you the map should have been shrunken down a bit. Some of that was a miscommunication between the artist and level designer about how big the sprites were going to be *facepalm*. Unfortunately by the time we realized it was too big, there wasn't enough time to redo the layout. I've gotten other comments about the text speed/box - this is my first released game with text so its nice to get feedback on how to make that better in the future! Thank you again!

Five Knights in France by Pixelydian 2022-04-08T22:24:00Z

@f1krazy Interesting that one of your critiques is that you had to complete the tutorial in order to get the tutorial to go away. Personally, one of my most common complaints about game jams in general is that they typically LACK a tutorial of any kind. But I appreciate your feedback and I will consider an "opt out" key in the future.

Sorry you could not find the kitchen. I made the tile set during the jam (along with the music and portions of the programming) so there's only so much variety that can be pumped out in a short amount of time. The kitchen is the only room with an oven, however. Others have suggested a map which in hindsight, would have been cool to implement, but also maybe not realistic in 72 hours. All interesting things to consider regarding priorities and scope in the future.

Genuinely thank you for your feedback and best of luck in your own future game design!

Five Knights in France by Pixelydian 2022-04-08T22:31:50Z

@halflemonstudios Oops, the R to restart was a debug key that was accidently left in. *facepalm* sorry about that. I need to have a "remove these things before release" list because I always forget about those things.

Really great suggestions! Yeah I wish we could have done more with the searchable objects. We had lots of ideas but just not enough time to implement. I do however plan to spend a week or two polishing up a post jam version, so I will keep your suggestions in mind as I rework that mechanic.

I'm curious if you think it would be better to have a faster run or a smaller map? I've been debating that for several days now. But I agree something needs better balance there.

Thank you very much for your feedback!

Outrun the Darkness by FlyingKaida 2022-04-08T02:44:09Z

Very nice! Your character sprite is adorable :). And her little sound effects when she jumps. Controls feel good and I appreciated being able to use a controller. Although I couldn't figure out which button was the run button? So I held shift with my pinky while I used the control lol. Anyway good atmosphere with the lighting and the music. Good job!

The Last Stand by Idontgetit1 2022-04-06T18:45:18Z

This looks and sounds great - the music was especially awesome and it worked well with the retro style art. Great concept - I had a little trouble figuring out what to do at first but I got it and had some fun! Good job!

Sea Level by CarrotVan 2022-04-06T18:14:24Z

Really neat concept! I have to admit that I was very confused on what to do for the first...5 minutes? I eventually figured it out but I think some simple text like "harvest" or "plant" would have helped. Maybe the square could be outlined when you hover over it with your mouse? Anyway I felt triumphant when I succeeded at making a robot. I could see this being expanded into a bigger game? I'd be interested to see where you guys would take it. Overall I liked the concept, art style, and music. Good job!

Tominrigg Tactics by Dan Allison 2022-04-07T20:43:08Z

Holy crap this was fantastic. I'm not going to complain about balancing issues because it's not like you had time to play test. But for what is here and what is accomplishable in a weekend, regarding game mechanic, art, humor, and overall execution, GREAT job. My husband asked me to make a list of my favorites for him to play later, and you've made the list! :)

Evacuate the city by Cafe Spectrum Studio 2022-04-07T20:22:11Z

Love the concept and fits the theme well. Fun little game that I quite enjoyed beating. From the start I had major NES nostalgia. I think you've got something expandable here - more resources, maybe tanks coming in from more directions? I think it would be cool if you keep working on it. Great job!

LD51 — Every 10 seconds

Spacemine Defense by Jimbly 2022-10-04T18:54:05Z

#6 as of this posting! Holy smokes, great job! I love strategy games, and you hit it out of the park. Very addictive gameplay, music hit that sweet spot where it set the mood but didn't feel repetitive. Your game feels very balanced - difficult, but achievable. *applause* I had a lot of fun!

Destroy Blocks by mdotedot 2022-10-03T18:21:05Z

I love that you took Tetris and changed it up! I could see this being expanded into a mobile game. I would like to try the multiplayer version - could you possibly release it as a post jam version? I believe you can link to it as long as you leave a disclaimer that it's not your official entry. It sounds like you put a lot of work into it! The music was soothing and fit the puzzler mood. Nicely done!

CARAVAN by p-r 2022-10-05T17:12:58Z

I like the simple controls! And you have a pause button! Neat concept, and I liked the randomness of the demons. Like one time one started rushing towards the caravan and I had a mini heart attack, but then he ran back to the bottom. Good job!

Fire 'n' Snail by neowhoru 2022-10-05T19:13:00Z

There is so much that is endearing about your game - the cute character sprite, the unique overall story, THE ADORABLE SNAILS  Music was fun and added to the fast pace race to escape. The last level seemed easier than the one before it? So perhaps level order needed to be shifted around, but I liked the variety of 10 second events. A suggestion for post jam - extra moves like dash? Could be neat if you have to find the dash upgrade, kind of like Zelda, before you can get the key, and then to the door. Or maybe just check this one off as a success and move onto the next great build! Good work!

The Point of Power by EvoGenGames 2022-10-03T19:15:37Z

Wow, you just took PowerPoint mastery to a whole new level! I never even thought of using PowerPoint that way. This was incredible, especially given your constraints! I suggest changing the puzzle order to have the “outside-the-box” puzzle last since that mechanic can kind of break the remaining puzzles
but I beat it the right way! Great Job!

Zelenium© by Enver Arco 2022-10-04T14:31:01Z

This reminded me of those timed drop ball games at arcades - simple but also addicting! The best score I got was 18. My only constructive criticism is that it was a little difficult at first to tell what color was what. Some of that may be my monitor, but I would have liked those colors to be a little brighter, maybe have a colored glow effect around them as well? Anyway the environment art is beautiful and you put together a nice little game! Could see this being expanded - what if the ship moved vertical? Maybe it moves on a winding path? Maybe it's speed alternates? Lots of cool potential here. Good job!

Slimerush by TermiGht 2022-10-03T14:11:33Z

Animations were funny as promised! :) Seriously though, when the game first loaded I audibly said "oh cool!" I love unique player sprites. I also found myself saying "stab stab stab" every time I attacked a slime  Particle effects were a nice touch. Great application of the theme - the buffs are a neat idea. The only suggestion I have is the enemies could use some sort of satisfying death feedback - more of those particle effects or a squish sound effect. Anyway, great job!

Pizza Game by chuckeles 2022-10-03T18:00:49Z

Short story, I got excited when I saw your game because I considered making some sort of food service game. You did a great job! I like the small details like you have to put the spoon back into the bowl, and the extra steps of needing to open the oven, close the oven, etc. I literally laughed out loud when I saw my final score, but I had a lot of fun. I challenge everyone after me to do better than this  2022-10-03 12_55_53-Pizza Game _ ldjam.com _ Ludum Dare game jam.png

Chain Destruction by Schuster 2022-10-05T19:26:06Z

Well that was satisfying. Easy to get going and start seeing some explosions! Music is great - I'm digging the epic strings. Great concept and I haven't seen anything like it so far this jam. Good job!

Tenfold Rim Mining by PurpledArtFrog 2022-10-05T18:02:58Z

Really neat take on a TD. Great explosions and sound effects. I may need a little help getting going though - are Red Rock, Green gas, and Bio Sludge all supposed to be at 999 when you start? They don't seem to be going up or down no matter what I do. I was playing the windows download build (couldn't seem to get the web build to start.) Please let me know because I want to make sure I'm experiencing the game as intended! I will hold off on rating until I hear from you.

Tenfold Rim Mining by PurpledArtFrog 2022-10-05T19:00:08Z

Ah yes, that's a lot better! I really like the layout, application of the theme, and the different builds you have available. My only constructive feedback is that it is a bit difficult and often jam players don't have time for steep learning curves. I'd play with those resource generation rates and such until you find the newbie player sweet spot! But otherwise, good work and creativity!

Baseball of Max Stress by snesgaard 2022-10-03T19:32:06Z

I love these directional timed games! Would have been nice to have some quick baseball tunes, like the "charge" anthem. Not sure if you have any music experience but it doesn't have to be complicated to add to the mood. But the mechanic was well polished and executed. I had fun! 😊 Great entry.

The Landfill by Naemis 2022-10-04T14:51:54Z

Cool game! I think I got the good end? It was a really satisfying moment when the entire screen of trash exploded and coins rained down. I really liked the intro too...very ominous. Music was awesome and fit the mood. Overall this is a great entry - my only suggestion would be to raise the stakes a bit by either giving the player HP (don't get hit by your own molotov cocktails), a cooldown timer on the molotovs, or maybe even needing to collect your ammo. I'm grasping at straws though - I had fun! great job!

Tensec World by Rolly 2022-10-03T20:09:42Z

Great application of the theme! I really like the concept of recording the Tensie's actions. Tutorial was good, I had a little trouble still getting going but maybe I should just read more carefully  Seriously fun concept with a neat storyline and I think it has a lot of legs to be expanded. Great job!

Machine Learning by tylerstraub 2022-10-07T18:43:25Z

Well I'm not usually a fan of "up" to jump (I prefer space bar), I'm excusing it because I really like your game :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye: The little robot is so cute, and I like the art in general. Level layout/design is good - I like the little bit of backtracking back to the obviously unreachable point in the beginning. Little Metroidvania! I had a lot of deaths after I got the boots, but I'd say that means you have a good difficulty curve. By that point I just needed to get good . Well done!

Winding Woods by tetrapteryx 2022-10-04T23:40:40Z

Super unique concept! I got really invested in keeping that little guy alive. I liked how the music built up and added layers - and it was a great track. Art and UI are very well done. Overall your game has a great vibe and I think it would be cool expand it a bit post jam! Good job!

Boomsticks by OgelGames 2022-10-03T19:23:01Z

I like the different guns and the sound effects! Throwing the gun to keep from getting hurt was definitely what I wasn’t doing the first time. I’d recommend making the hit boxes a little smaller and zooming out just a tad, but this is a good solid entry with good game feel. Good job!

Ticktock Tactics by Cral 2022-10-08T16:04:52Z

I'm very impressed! Creative use of the theme and overall your game looks and feels very polished. Would love to know if all your assets were made during the jam? Pixel art is very good and your artist is very talented. Playing field is designed well and easy to read. AI obviously isn't perfect but it worked really well - it provided enough of a challenge without feeling unfair. Also since you have audio as one of your categories, did you guys make any of the music or sfx? Soundtrack was pretty much perfect for the game! This is a great entry and one of my favorites so far.

Space Buggers by Minipeps 2022-10-03T19:26:52Z

Neat application of a tower defense style - oddly satisfying but tough! Feels like the mechanics are all there, just needs some tweaking to help the difficulty curve over time. Considering it's a compo, I totally understand not having enough time to get it perfect! Had fun, great job!

Drying tomatoes by Dekajoo 2022-10-08T16:17:19Z

Love what you've got going here! Pixel art is amazing, music is ROCKING (the instruments remind me of Journey to Silius). Losing all progress when you die is brutal - this may be a personal preference, but I find "up" to jump difficult and not ideal controls for platforming. But I really like the use of theme and overall gameplay. Great job!

Sailing through life by Chase of Bass 2022-10-07T18:27:16Z

I adore little introspective story games like this! The boats where well drawn and I really like the mechanic of tipping the sea to control the boat. Music is great as well and hits the sweet spot of fun on the sea but introspective. Overall this is a unique and great entry! Well done!

Limited Window by Justin Klinchuch 2022-10-03T19:14:30Z

Excellent idea! Definitely different from the other versions of the theme I've played so far. It was fun, and the music simple and catchy. I like the cymbal crash when you die. It did take me a few deaths to figure out that the “everything else only updates every 10 seconds” included the doors :stuck_out_tongue: But once I got the hang of it I beat it! Great job.

Tower of Time 2 by CodeRaurus 2022-10-05T18:34:47Z

Cool platformer! Art is nice, and I like the overall concept - especially that time doesn't continue if you're not moving. Difficulty builds up kind of fast - I got stuck on level 4! But I've always had a bit of trouble playing platformers on keyboard - I have a feeling a controller would work so much better. Music is mysterious and works well for a puzzle platformer. I think it's a great application of the theme. I was getting tired of playing games with just 10 second timers. Props to you for thinking a bit outside of the box!

Tower of Time 2 by CodeRaurus 2022-10-05T19:03:40Z

I wish I had done controller support on my game too. Gosh it's hard to get all the stuff in within 48 hours AND sleep. :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

Endless Duel by goldenXD 2022-10-07T19:09:12Z

Simple but effective! I like the concept and application of the theme. Couple of visual suggestions for post jam - I'd draw one version of your player with his back facing the camera (or "up") so he doesn't look like he's almost upside down before his x-scale flips. The funny thing is, that you can basically just remove the eyes and he'll look like he's turned around. Also, some squash and stretch, color flashes, or screenshake to indicate you or the enemy has been hit by a bullet. The simple art is great, it just could be taken to the next level with a few tricks to give it juice. Anyway I say all this because you have a great game here and it would be worth putting in a little extra polish! I like the HP recovery mechanic, and the difficulty curve works well. Good job!

Cute Little Spider by BukkakeTears 2022-10-03T19:04:47Z

I GOT THE CUTE LITTLE HAMMER!!! OK I spent way longer playing this than I intended. Neat idea and application of the theme. I kind of expected the recipe to change every 10 seconds, but that would have increased the difficulty by a lot (not sure if that's a good or bad thing for a game jam, honestly.) I'm a fan of memorization games though and enjoy the challenge of going as fast as possible. Art is super adorable. Thanks for a fun entry.

Keyboard Dungeon by Kevin Du 2022-10-05T01:22:07Z

So adorable! Very unique and innovative idea - and fun! Not sure how the 10 seconds applies, can you let me know and I'll update my rating? Otherwise, this is a well executed, cute little game!

Airport by grilladroid 2022-10-04T15:19:21Z

Really neat concept! I must admit, I had a little trouble getting started. Maybe I'm just bad at reading directions, but I was struggling a bit with the building requirements. BUT once it all clicked I started really enjoying it. It was a exciting moment when my first plane landed. I think your game has some good legs and could be expanded. Minor post jam tweaks I'd add - a bulldozer, and I'd adjust the resolution so your build tiles aren't so tiny. Otherwise, great game and application of the theme!

Bobo's Happiness Factory by DzejPi 2022-10-03T17:01:10Z

Great game idea and application of the theme! As @mdotedot said, the mouse movement without clicking is neat. I could easily see this as a mobile game with swiping. Good difficulty progression and I appreciate the tutorial! Extra props for the music score - composing anything decent while making a game in 48 hours is difficult enough, and your track fit the mood of the game perfectly. Great entry!2022-10-03 11_52_56-Bobo's Happiness Factory by dzejpi.png

second interval by ty_ 2022-10-03T20:20:31Z

So wholesome and endearing! As a music teacher/composer, I adore your game! The music is phenomenal, and I love the little touches like the instruments as your sfx. The art really pulled together the mood/story. Great entry!

SPACEMAN by arya-s 2022-10-05T18:50:43Z

I'm a fan that your spaceman kind of looks like an Among Us character  Very cute art, and the simplicity works well. Sound was ominous and felt...space-like? Whatever, it works really well. I liked trying to stay on the ship by just walking as it rotated rather than jumping constantly. That being said...I suck at your game and my score isn't worth mentioning. Good work!

10 Second Apocalypse by TexelProto 2022-10-03T19:41:10Z

Hey, for a first game jam you did very well! Compo is a tough category! You have some great ideas though, and I particularly liked the tentacles. Good work and I look forward to seeing more entries from you in the future!

Hostile Climate by Roboolet 2022-10-07T19:40:15Z

The 10 second events are awesome! Love those cows  This looks so good - I am a huge fan of retro pixel art. The explosions look great, and good job on the details like the death animation. SFX is great too. My only suggestion is to use spacebar for jump! This may be a personal preference, but I'm just not a fan of "up" to jump. I tend to be really clumsy when using up. I'm also left handed so the arrow controls are often difficult for me  Again, personal preference, but I like WASD. Just some thoughts! Super great entry though, I really found your entire presentation and concept to be endearing. Great job and keep it up!

Yo, Listen! by Trabasura 2022-10-07T18:13:54Z

Super unique and funny. I had trouble figuring out what to do after I got the sword - ugh. I tried to attack that "house guest" but that didn't do anything  But I like the premise, and if I had a bit more time I would grind it out and keep trying to figure it out. It's a neat puzzle and a great execution of the theme! Nice job!

The Gemancipator by spooncats 2022-10-04T13:20:43Z

Absolutely love your story in the description  I love the little faces and the application of the theme was good. It was surprisingly hard to find matches of anything but color at first but after a bit I got the feel of it. As far as constructive feedback, there should be a penalty for just clicking like mad. Outside of that, this is a great game that feels and looks good! Congrats!

Tender Bar! by infecsean 2022-10-07T19:30:10Z

Great concept! Art is very cute and the music is boppin'. It seems like you're already aware of some collision/pick up issues, and as others have said, the bartender is starting out a bit too slow. I'm totally all for the buff increases, and I liked the UI display in the vending machine room, but he seemed a bit too slow to really even get going delivering any drinks and even afford those bonuses. The stage design is good, just need some speed to get to those customers across the room. I feel like you have a great thing here and with a few bug tweaks, it would be super fun! Good work!

Ten Seconds To Midnight by reevest2 2022-10-05T00:51:29Z

Good application of the theme! Effective difficulty curve, starts out simple but gets hectic. Great sound effects. Some suggestions - a death animation would have been cool, like even a couple of simple circles increasing in radius can do a lot. Also I was hoping that shooting the money bag would make it explode with money! BUT compo is brutal and I'm sure you had lots of stuff you wanted to get in there and didn't have time for. Good job!

Last Defense by Pixelydian 2022-10-03T11:35:02Z

@roulette thank you for playing anyway! Will you still submit for the jam or extra? Would love to play your game if you do submit!

Am I allowed to update the game at this point with a level skip cheat? 😅 that is a fantastic idea!

Edit: OK I added it and made a change log. :-P Thank you again for the suggestion!

Last Defense by Pixelydian 2022-10-03T18:09:34Z

@mdotedot  so you basically nailed the era - this was inspired by an Atari ST game "Oids" that I loved as a kid. Back then the controls would have been one or two inputs to rotate the ship. I went for a more modern control scheme for the "kids these days" but I understand that it can be a bit hard! Thanks for playing!

Last Defense by Pixelydian 2022-10-03T18:34:08Z

@bukkaketears Very interesting mechanic idea! Personally I think landing at full speed means you have wicked pilot strats :sunglasses: In the end my choice was to design for faster gameplay (especially for the later levels where there are more enemies and larger levels to complete within the time limit) but I do like the idea of incorporating speed requirements for landing if I choose to expand the game post jam. Thank you for your thoughtful feedback!

Last Defense by Pixelydian 2022-10-03T20:23:50Z

@jumbly The answer to your question is...yes. Man I dunno, Lore can get weird when you're on 4 hours of sleep. I like your idea - high tech device. The aliens have removed the gravity from earth - nevermind that the humans aren't floating around. It only removes gravity from ships...yeah that's it. Well anyway, thanks for the great comment and thanks for playing!

Last Defense by Pixelydian 2022-10-04T15:58:50Z

@dzejpi I see you once did GM as well and switched to Godot! I've considered doing this before I start a big project...would you say the skills transfer well, or is it a steep learning curve? Anyway thank you very much for your compliments  In previous jams I got too caught up in the art and had less time for coding/level design, so I'm quite happy with my balance this time! Thanks for playing!

@googlypoo  aww! No shame, I admit the controls can be a little difficult when you first start! Thanks for your compliments and for playing!

Last Defense by Pixelydian 2022-10-05T17:15:45Z

@p-r I understand! Back in the Atari era (which is where this was inspired) the controls would have been one or two buttons with rotation like Asteroids. But I wanted to take a chance and try something different, and maybe a bit more modern. Thanks for playing!

Last Defense by Pixelydian 2022-10-05T17:19:56Z

@purpledartfrog I've never played Turbo Raketti, but it looks fun! I was a big fan of these sorts of low gravity ship shooters when I was a kid. Thanks for your compliments, and thanks for playing!

Last Defense by Pixelydian 2022-10-05T21:30:06Z

@matt-green because knocking on the door didn't seem near as fun. 😂 the "lore" is that they're in prisons and you're saving them so they can arm the shields and protect earth. The timer was to push the player to go fast, with being able to add 10 seconds by destroying enemies. Not saying it's a strong link to the theme but...meh lol.

Thanks for the high compliments and for the play!

Last Defense by Pixelydian 2022-10-08T19:40:22Z

@undermountain yeah when I had enemy collision on so they stayed within the area, the game was a bit difficult. 😅 I'd really like to get their behavior fine tuned post jam though. Thank you for playing and your input!

10 Seconds by Ippon 2022-10-05T17:03:13Z

Asteroids meets firework show! Simple but effective. Love the explosions. Great job getting a compo submitted, seriously. Keep making games!

Cutthroat Cannoneer by Glove 2022-10-05T17:01:09Z

Simple but well executed. It feels like you chose a scope that was compo appropriate and it was fun! I really liked the visual effect of the fuse as the timer. The player feels a little sluggish, which makes sense while carrying the cannon balls but not when empty handed. I’d have loved to have been able to throw the cannon ball or have them rolling around as the ship tilts. Regardless, well done!

Clockwork by googlypoo 2022-10-05T00:22:03Z

Great take on a strategy game! Minions were unique, card mechanics worked well, the music was spooky, art was really nice, all in all your game has a great vibe. Well done!

Speedy Farmer by Papaya 2022-10-04T14:18:28Z

HUGE fan of the music! Great choice to have the music change with the seasons and it was a great track. Art is very cute, especially the player. Small constructive feedback - as others have said, the controls were a little difficult. It seemed like if I was facing right, I would water the tile above me? I'm not exactly sure what is going on under the hood but this seems like a really good, small post jam project to get the interaction mechanic refined. Maybe create a tile indicator/outline so the player knows what tile is going to be affected before they commit their action? Anyway I really like what you have going here, could be cool to polish it up and then get on to making more great stuff. :) Good work!

Happy Minesweeper by torte478 2022-10-03T21:23:39Z

As morbid as that was  this was a great take on minesweeper. Music was super fun - I definitely had that moment of "uh...wtf" when the first guy hit a mine and the music cut off. Love the humor and I genuinely had fun playing. You didn't just create a game, you made an experience. Great entry!

Life is Fleeting by Sarah Alexa 2022-10-04T23:25:03Z

Stardew Valley speed running! So at first I thought the controls were a little slippery but as I played I thought, this actually fits really well with the high pace, get it DONE vibe. I like that I didn't have to put in an input to pick up objects or switch tools - with the high pace gameplay, that would have been frustrating. Pixel art is cute! And you had a good layout of the map. Very well done, and huge congrats on submitting a compo! 2022-10-04 18_18_51-Life is Fleeting by Sarah.png

Bumble Breeze by robin_schmitz 2022-10-04T23:52:39Z

Gosh, your game is so beautiful and wholesome! It's like a much improved version of flappy bird. Loved the animals popping in to try and eat me. I liked the controls a lot, and they felt good, especially with the store improvements. Music is great - did one of your team members make it? I enjoyed playing your game! Great job team!

Pillagers Plague by bcollins0000 2022-10-03T20:32:45Z

I WON! I had fun! Neat idea with the pillagers coming back as zombies. I feel like it was well balanced where I needed to put weapons all along the road for when they came back. Neat concept and I think your game has some legs to be expanded post jam if you're inspired. Good job!

Machine! by KITmani 2022-10-05T18:18:38Z

Cool concept! I found it a little difficult at first - maybe a bit more tutorial would have helped? Like require the player to fulfill the steps of one order, THEN the game starts. But I did eventually get it. I also got confused that the next task is at the bottom of the list, not the top? Some sort of player feedback like a highlighted box surrounding the "current" task would be helpful. I like the increase of complexity with the machines that change the blocks. I could see this being great on mobile with the drag and swipe. Visually it looks great. Basically you've got a great core game, just some polish on player direction/feedback and you're golden. Good work!

Every 10 seconds, mother comes in by lustdante 2022-10-07T17:54:08Z

Very cool idea and great execution! I like the difficulty curve of removing the 10 second timer halfway through. I also liked the dual goals of getting an A but also leveling up in your MMO. Visuals are very cute! Gosh, with some sound this would be a near perfect compo entry. Great job!!

Space Shooters by BIGBAUK 2022-10-03T17:25:31Z

Had to click on a fellow retro space shooter! :) Great opening tutorial and I really like the placement of the ship in-between the A and D. It's super new-player friendly which is so crucial in a game jam. Screen shake was a nice touch, so shooting enemies was satisfying. Pixel art is well done (especially the player ship) and captures the retro style. Would have liked a death screen/transition, and for the tutorial to only appear once when you first start, but I totally understand time constraints. I kept dying on wave 3, but if I had more time to play, I'm curious to know if you implemented unique patterns for the ships. Would be a neat thing to try as an after jam project! Or maybe adding unique special weapons. Anyway, good job!

Ten Second Gunner by WendallR 2022-10-05T01:09:16Z

Brutal! I died so many times  So I have to give a shoutout for your death particles - I've been commenting on a lot of people's games that they need death animations! So thank you for that. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye: Would have liked a little bit of a buffer for receiving inputs from death to restart! Since I was usually shooting when I died, I would zip straight to restart. But otherwise, retro style looks good, very nostalgic. Sound is good - music bops and the sfx fit well. My only other suggestion is to slow down the bullets so the player has more reaction time. Good job!

The Ariadaeus Run by Deepfreeze 2022-10-03T20:48:14Z

So retro, and so hard! Love the idea of a satellite laser shooting at you every 10 seconds. The music was great and fit the mood so well. I loved that the old attempts left their carnage to wave at as I pass by. The only think I can think of would be to make the difficulty curve start off a little slower to give me a chance to get good. Great job!

Stay the Night by StesProject 2022-10-05T17:28:14Z

Goodness that's kinda hard! It's a great challenge, and unique - I haven't seen anything like it. Love the atmosphere. Can you actually win the game? Would be nice to know if there's an official ending, and would add to player motivation to keep trying. I also echo what @davidbradbury said - some obstacles as you get further would be cool! Anyway, I like it! good job!

Elos by M4ttU 2022-10-04T15:48:17Z

First game jam? Wow! Love the set up - good tutorial walkthrough to set things up and then the hook. Level design is very good - I started getting Celeste vibes. I feel like this would be a lot easier on the controller, but alas I don't have one set up. E was a bit difficult to use - I kept missing and pressing R instead. That's basically my only suggestion - change the dash to maybe shift or enter? But otherwise, great game!

Soul of Seasons by shimmerscale 2022-10-03T17:38:49Z

Your character sprite is SO CUTE  I would totally keep that sprite and use her again in another project. Seriously good design. I love the overall art style, and the music really added to the mood. Like I felt like the forest was sad. Great application of the theme - the changing environment was really cool. There were a lot of nice "aha" moments when I realize I needed to wait for the water to freeze in winter, and again when I needed the flowers in Spring and the leaf piles in fall. Those sorts of things are hard to pull off well in a compo jam! Great job!

Torquemada, Heretic Slayer by Kostas Nik 2022-10-04T17:50:23Z

Great backstory and overall mood! The story, art, and music really worked together well and I felt immersed. Attack is very satisfying. Had fun, good job team! 2022-10-04 12_45_42-Torquemada, Heretic Slayer - Ludum Dare 51 by Kostas Nik.png

Jumprope by djd123456 2022-10-04T18:03:05Z

Brutal! Pixel perfect jumping is tough, but you succeeded at creating a challenge. My score wasn't even worth screen capture. Good work, congrats on submitting for compo!
