My highest score was 110. I like the pixel art and the way the pitcher flails around! The fact that the pitcher is throwing tomatoes is quite bananas which is odd because they are tomatoes! You should try giving your sounds fade in and fade out.
@ratrat44 Thanks, appreciate the audio advice, as this is my first time doing anything with sound.
Also not a bad score!
I love these directional timed games! Would have been nice to have some quick baseball tunes, like the "charge" anthem. Not sure if you have any music experience but it doesn't have to be complicated to add to the mood. But the mechanic was well polished and executed. I had fun! 😊 Great entry.

@pixelydian Not a lot of musical experience, no. Will probably try it out next Ludum Dare, if the current sound effects doesn't scare people off
Glad you enjoyed the game regardless!
I liked it! I loved the visual style and it controlled well.

154! FASTEEEEER!
Realy simple but nice looking and fun game! The characters look great!
@save-sloth-studios @simplepotential Thanks, glad you liked it :)
@rolferm Very nice! SPEEEED!
I love how expressive the graphics are. The difficulty ramps up at a nice pace. Some more variation would've been nice but overall I think you did a good job!

Love a simple game with simple controls that is executed well, and the graphics are lovely. I LOVE BALLS
Managed to get 220pts! And the animations are so great!:D Wasn't immediately obvious how the game tied into the theme but I think it's fine.
@cyberfrank Damn that's impressive. Developer record is 215 for reference!
@jakobthequizguy Had considered some literal curve balls that would change lane halfway, but sadly my spaghetti code didn't allow for that
Simple and efficient, really that remind me the gameplay of the **google dino** game. The graphics is cute and very well thinked. The difficulty increase progressively and this remind me rythms games too. Good job ! toss.png
Love the artwork! This has a kind of pull where I want to get as far as possible just to see how hectic the game can get. I got 157 but I've notice a problem where your bat hitbox will linger and hit a tomato when you hit a baseball just before it once the game gets fast enough.
187 here, this seems to be my peak, I think I can make it to Koshien with this.
Very fun game! It immediately made me want to try another run when finishing, I had a great time playing and aiming for a higher score. Art style is very expressive and works well too I think. Very well done!
@ghostbomb Bug or feature? But you're right, the hitbox should probably deactivate upon hitting something for a better player experience.
@captaindreamcast Let's go! Don't let your memes be dreams  Glad you liked it.

Fun game, the pixel art is very expressive! First I tried going with a cheese-strategy where I smash up and down fast every time there's no tomatoes coming up but that didn't work at high speeds. After a couple of tries I got into a zen-like state reading the patterns where to hit. Sometimes I felt like the hitboxes were a bit too lenient on the tomatoes where I hit them with the same hit that hit a baseball. Anyways I had fun with this one, here's my score :D (Edit: Turns out I matched the developer record from an earlier comment)

This was great, especially in terms of fun-per-scope. Really charming, the art style was nice and the hilarious voice intro had my chuckling. I had to play it a few times over and was decently happy with my 90. Great job!
EDIT omg 215??
@bqq Very impressive score! At very fast speed it's pretty common to catch multiple projectiles in a single hitbox activation. Maybe the hitbox should scale downwards as speed increases?
@pkenney I had way too much fun simply pitch changing like crazy in Audacity. Glad someone else also liked the final result :)

@snesgaard Good idea! Another option would be to bias a bit to the players favor and make it so that one hit can only "eat" one projectile and then prefer the baseballs. So if there's a ball and a tomato in the hitbox you'd consider the baseball the only thing you hit. You could probably do both options at the same time.
Woah the difficulty ramped up fast! That was a blast. I liked the expressive animations and pitch-bending narration. Solid compo entry; nice work!!

Weirdly addictive game! Tiny nitpick: would be nice to have your lives shown bigger or more centralized, since your eyes need to be focused the whole time. But I guess it doesn't really matter. The art and animations were satisfying. 10/10 voicework.
@bqq Good idea! Currently each collision is handled individual, but good probably be handled collectively.
@wheffle A better UI location would probably have been at the bottom of the screen, since your eyes are focused there anyway.
