I left the game on while writing this just to listen to the song longer. Where is the mp3 download?

This concept was spot on. Love the mood of the game too, I am only missing one guy filming it all on his iPhone in the background. You know, for realism.
Fantastic music. I respect your choice not to have a mute button!
Good take on the theme, as someone else commented here some collisions to avoid nutrient overlaps would been good. Also maybe a bit higher movespeed. The music was really nice.
Great look to this game, and very original concept. I like the polish - looks like an already released game. Music stressed me out so much.
This was a great game. Music was stressful enough, levels were just the right amount of chaotic, only thing I was missing was some kind of power ups perhaps.
PS: Kudos to whoever decided on the sound hitting a trash can makes.
Seems like a good idea this, I was missing some kind of indicator for how I was doing. I did play it a few times to try to beat it, but with no scores or indication on how I was doing I feel like it's just a game that is impossible to beat, or even set high scores in.
Could also be cool to get the instructions by audio so you didn't have to read. Maybe with like distorted radio audio where you'd only get to hear like 2 or 3 of the details between the noise.
I had some issues with moving the camera around, but apart from that it was a blast to play. Kind of hard to remember what each command was, especially on level 2 when the tutorial was gone, and not all of the icons was super clear. It's quite unforgiving to put the wrong marker down in the middle of a level and then have to restart from the beginning.
Fun take on the TD genre. I like that it's several levels and different towers. Lots of good keyboard shortcuts is a bonus.
Had to try this as I nearly made a very similar game, only as a sidescroller. As a pretty fresh father of one my associations with 'keep it alive' also were related to the young ones.
Your game almost makes me shout for my wife to take one of them. I can't take it all alone.
Nice work on the visualization of the different states (hungry etc), not just the bars at the top. An eye for details is under rated. Musically this was an improvement compared to the Tamagotchi, that really hurts ones ears. I would love to see some keyboard shortcuts however. I also think maybe a check so that items don't overlap would be good to see.
My TimTam died after 93 days. That's like 93 in human years.
This was fantastic. I played through all of it, and somehow found the last level to be the easiest. This could really be something to be honest. I'd polish the shit out of this game, add more levels, more characters, more puzzles and you might just have the next Candy Crush game on your hands.
I liked this game, the art style is adorable. Gameplay works nice once you get the hang of it. Was not sure if getting the different upgrades did anything to my keep tho. Would be good with some sort of explanation on what getting a windmill does etc.
Adorable running animation xD I could only jump with left control, kind of an odd button to use for jumping, made the controls feel unnecessarily clunky. Music was nice and sprites looks good :)
Great game, I was watching you make this on Twitch while I was programming my own, mostly because you mixed the two genres I was trying to chose from; Tower Defense and Parenting. I couldn't get web player to go full screen so had to download it.
Controls are spot on, I would maybe want a tad longer range on pushing buttons - just a smidge. Visuals are great, audio too - I wish I was in your stream when you made the ambiance sound.
Cheers for rating my game too :)
PS: Parenthood? Completed it, mate.
A bit clunky controls, but still a very enjoyable game. It looks really nice, the sounds are hilarious, mechanics are working like a charm. All in all a great result of a game jam :)
Love how the balloon acts/follows - that looks really nice. Controls feels good, game looks good, sounds good. And although I couldn't manage 500 points I at least got over 300. Had to try a few games to be sure I tried all the power ups :)
Need to put the game in full screen to see what is going on, I am having similar issues when porting my game to WebGL. Also, when restarting the game it seems like I get the music loop on top of itself over and over again, there is at least something funky with the music here.
I really enjoyed this. I am gonna assume that you made it so that a zombie can't spawn on top of me, because that never happened to me, but I keep dying when the camera "jumps" a bit sideways and end up running out of ammunition. There wasn't really any point using the other weapons apart from the pistol as you would always run out of ammo. Not sure if the holes the zombies come out of has a purpose after the first zombie comes, but it clutters up the screen a bit too fast, so I'd probably have them deleted after a while.
This was cool, love the concept. Really nice touch with the details on the feeding part too :)
Nice game, activists are very strong, but can't beat the ghost writers unfortunately :p
This was a great game. First I figured out I had to give "short" instructions so I wouldn't be killed by new attackers, and when I figured out I could even kill the enemies - that's when things got serious. Kind of hard to aim at the attackers. Really nice game, and such a soothing ASMR arrow sound.
Hi. Thank you @corporation
Also thanks for notifying me @bilbycoder @generalsturgeon @dinaharison @shubh
I set the thing on itch to public so it should work now. Rookie mistakes were made :(
@purpledartfrog I will make one today I think, this was my first LD and I only noticed now that it seems like "everyone" is making web builds. Hopefully it's allowed to put out a web build afterwards.
@johnjoemcbob Oh that is good news. I tried making a port but somehow it ended up being very zoomed in compared to my Windows version. Will just have to look into that.
@mickm That is great feedback. I might work a bit more on this game when the compo is over. My first ever LD just happened to land om the weekend of my wife's birthday so I only got to spend like 10-12 hours on it :/ The feedback on getting key presses right was something I had in mind, but I only had time to give feedback on bad presses, that was a tad easier.
Added web player now, for some reason when I put it on itch.io it gets zoomed in and you can't see the full screen. Found this page called simmer.io and it works like a charm there. Thanks for all feedback. If I had more time I would definitely add more feedback to correct key presses, add the full keyboard and perhaps throw in some harder monsters with some new mechanics.
@amkingTRP Thanks for the feedback. I know about the out of range exception, I never had it on the Windows-version, at least not in the editor - it started showing up when I ported it. I only used QWEASD for now. My original idea was that different monsters have different keys. For instance flying had QWER and ground monsters have ASDF, and I wanted a "boss mob" that spawn smaller mobs that utilzed a 3rd way of input. I like your GamePad idea tho. Pause has to be there to prevent faceroll tactics xD
Very nice game, I like the circular level design. Unfortunately my sheep got hit by a car, but we had a good run.
Nice game, the egg shape makes the bounce very frustrating and unpredictable. I wish the camera followed the egg tho, I managed to get past 4 walls a few times but too fast for the camera. So I have no idea what happened to my egg.
It works pretty well, but the aiming was not precise enough, unfortunately. Otherwise nice gameplay and a cool concept :)
My experience was "Easy, easy, easy, MEGA HARD". I was drowning that 3rd plant and he was still withering. Was a nice concept and a charming style to it. The details were nice, perhaps a bit monotone gameplay. Would love to see more bad stuff happen to the plant that I could fix.
Haha actually using FPS as a game mechanic was genius. I was wondering for a while what the point of the game was until the FPS started dropping and I knew I was heading towards the end. Bonuskudos for putting time into making your game hard to quit.
This was an original idea. Missing some kind of button or start option when you actually grow together. It just kind of stops and then I have to reload the page. I couldn't completely understand the link between the sounds and the roots, but it felt like it was vinyl related somehow. Maybe we should be able to grow "other sounds" or something too.
Nice game, not much to say. The look of the game is well done old school, gameplay mechanics are on point. It checked all the boxes.
Loving the atmosphere here. Nailed it. The rain graphics looks really cool! A bit of a long walk, at a slow pace - but that could be intentional. Well done!
The physics of this game was on point! I also enjoyed the graphics style. The controls were hard(ly working) tho!
Fun little game, took a bit too long for red objects to spawn. Loved the music. Camera needs some work.
Now that's original. This was a neat feature with the .. paralel levels or what ever you want to label it as. I saw you wrote that you didn't have time to do everything you wanted to, but it would be cool to see where this would end up with some more time and love :)
Thanks for taking me for a trip down memory lane. Used to love this games as a kid. Freddy Pharkas - Frontier Pharmacist, Leisure Suit Larry, King's Quest, Monkey Island. Weird how everyone stopped making games like that.
Interesting idea. I actually did something quite similar last LD, so was fun to see someone utilizing a similar gameplay for this theme too. I wish the levels got harder as you played, once you mastered it it became a bit stale. So I think an increasing difficulty would do this game a few favors :) Good job!
Love it. Just like my childhood favorite computer game Slicks 'N' Slide (yes two of these '). I love the px/s too xD Nice touch!
Nice game. I think great minds think alike - I think we had both similar approaches to the theme, yet very different games. The way you programmed this worked like a charm, so well done for completing!
Neat little game, harder than it looks - but at least I got 5 digits in my top score. Would love to have camera adjusted so that when you are inside a loop you are more centered, my OCD kicked in when I had to keep looking at the bottom left of the screen. Design was very intuitive, yet simple - master class :)
Nice idea, good execution. I got nothing more to add that haven't been mentioned above already. Main thing is what @godsboss said. The controls were a bit annoying having to jiggle back and forth all the time.
Well done on completing your game. My favorite was the "swirl" pulling mechanic, it felt really realistic.
I loved the story and the take on the theme here. The gameplay and mechanics were pretty on point too, unfortunately I could not make that 2nd jump on the moon level. I tried that jump about 10 times but could not jump high enough. As mentioned by others the dialogue was a bit too slow. To summarize: Hell yeah!
I played this for way too long. Is the multishot feature intended? If you hold one button to swing and then hit another one while swinging you add more stones. I got to 61 points by shooting 4-5 stones at a time.
This is the hardest game I found this LD, is it even possible to beat the AI? I can't even get close. But you made me try, so well played!
Amazing job as always. Game looks fantastic. Took me a few minutes to get into but eventually got into a good rinse and repeat pattern. Original take on the theme too. Like last LD I kept an eye on your stream when I had a minute and it's always fun to see the end product after I've watched some of the progress :)
Cool little game. Nice character selection screen, controls were good, the boosts was a nice touch. The only thing I am wondering is, did the power ups do anything? (I missed 1 :( )
This was a cool take on the theme. As a PUBG player I have my computer sound set to "bleeding ears" by default so I was missing a volume control of some sort. It was a very challenging game, a bit two steps forward one step back. I did like the level design :)
This is my favorite so far. Stellar job, looks really nice. Plays pretty good and was a joy to play. Kind of want more levels xD Is this PAYDAY 3?
I really enjoyed this one. Style was so clean, gameplay is simple yet just the right amount of challenging. As @colejparker pointed out would be nice for mobile. Something to do while waiting for the bus or when on the can.
Took me a minute to figure out how to play, but after that it was cool. Took me back to the early 90s or whenever. I enjoy when people walk off the beaten path and make something very different :)
This has some potential for sure. And it was very pretty! Let us know when we can wishlist Coalescence on Steam :)
@endurion Because of the limited time I just put in a quick fix so that the bugs can't kill you in the first second, in case they spawn on top of the player. Not optimal, but at least one should be able to finish the game this way.
@tolmera I am hoping to find a way to build a WebGL build, but I accidentally made it in Unity 2018.3.11f1 and am having some troubles finding a WebGL module for older versions :/
Game looks great at least. I feel maybe perhaps the player is a bit small compared to the world around him. I couldn't find anything to do except shoot arrows at nothing. But graphically you're definitely on to something.
Nice take on the theme, ground hog day type thing. I had some problems playing if I clicked full screen first, so to anyone trying after me - play it in the small window.
@matejag Hahaha, that's amazing. Yeah we were supposed to add some barriers on the sides in the beginning but I guess we forgot about it. Oh well, what are game jams without it's bugs :)
Great game, it was intuitive, graphics was on point, so were sounds.
Cool feel to the game, did I spot a three-frame animation on the atoms? It's a fun aesthetic in any case. Music is spot on. Like mentioned before, some progression levels would probably improve the user experience. But that's for later, LD is all about prototyping :)
Even though the car was unstable, the camera angle was the biggest obstacle to overcome. Apart from that it was a great (challenging) game. I could not finish unfortunately, I had to give up after 40+ attempts on the swinging bridge - I just coulnd't time it correctly. Controls felt good, even if they were meant to be unstable. The level was challenging. Good job :)
A well executed game, was fun to play. Physics seemed on point, controls were intuitive - allthough I'd rather play with spacebar or something. Would also love if the blue measuring thing moved 8 times faster. Took a while once you get quite high :P
Great concept! Controls felt nice to play with, the sound and music were spot on. One improvement suggestion would be to make bigger things heavier, allthough I see how that would make it more stable :P This could also be fun with several levels. Fun game, congratulations :)
Fantastic game lol. It was super hard, and I'm glad goblins are 1/3 the height of a man, had they been shorter this game would've been impossible. Loved the sounds, the graphics, the overall mood, yes, even the menus were really well done. One of the best ones I've tried so far, if not the best :) Congrats on submitting :)
Stunning graphics as usual. Both on the ship and on the surface, as well as the GUI. It was a very sci-fi-fitting interace. The ambience creates a good spacey mood. Controls and gameplay does its job well. However my GPS seemed to be broken. It told me I was getting closer and closer to the end even though I apparently flew circles around Argus 3 times in a row :P
@fabioecco You scored from bumping same colored blocks into eachother, or by blowing up blocks with the bombs :)
Very neat little game, it was indeed relaxing and a nice break from all the unstable games. Controls were fun, graphics and animations were beautiful, topped with a great sound track (and sfx). Felt like a non-violent shooting game xD
Plays really nice, and on point according to the theme. Cute design and interface, and it seems that all functionality works as intended :) Couldn't protect myself against the tornadoes tho, but I had the whole map covered in Spacez.
