I played this for way too long. Is the multishot feature intended? If you hold one button to swing and then hit another one while swinging you add more stones. I got to 61 points by shooting 4-5 stones at a time.
Foon → Ludum Dare Explorer → LD47 → If you think about it, ain't a sling a murder loop?

@Thooom _shhhh it's a sekrit 😉_
Wow! That game is addictive. Great graphics, sound and movements. It feels great! I enjoyed playing it.
@bereg
hey that's great to hear, i did this after not making games for years and basically spent my all on gamefeel
it makes me super happy to hear that you liked the sounds in particular, 'cuz that was all amateur foley work, just a combination of me snapping, blowing gently into my mic (asmr anyone?), hitting my desk, punching a pillow, and whacking a can of compressed air with a chopstick, and a bit of pitch shifting for different variations
Addicting game! Getting big bounce chains is really satisfying.
Really awesome idea for the theme. It was extremely satisfying to actually hit a ship. How I hit them? No idea. I had no plan. I just swung it. Loved the art direction - simple yet appealing. Great work!
@dreamscale I spent a significant amount of time on gamefeel so hearing this means those hours were totally worth. Thanks.
@echo-gameworks same
This game has a gorgeous minimalism to it. The harsh contrasting colours feel really crisp and satisfying, but it has an edge that I think suits the title with red over any other colour. The UI is super simple, but super clean and crisp as well, and feels very balanced with the rest of the game. Easy to tell how many hits you have left as well.
Everything about this is super satisfying. The sound design works so well with the game-feel, and makes each impact feel more tactile, and the little bit of animation (like the pops when they disappear, or the little pops in the menu) just make this feel very polished overall. Really, really great game!
@alessia-ip Hi from Playtest Thursday! Thanks so much for checking out my game, it means a lot to me. Palette selection was definitely a deliberate choice, inspired by the shmup _Sonic Aether_ but with red shadows instead of, y'know, shadow-colored shadows. The UI was directly inspired by vertical shmups like the Touhou Project and `H e l l s i n k e r .`. Murderloop actually has a lot of weird shmup inspiration in terms of styling so if you want to see similar design language check out Solid Aether and those other games I mentioned for sure.

@matthewrobo Hello from playtest Thursday haha! :D
I'm not a SHMUP sort of person so it's really neat seeing your creative inspirations! I can definitely see how they influenced your submission, and I think you made something very cohesive and beautiful from it. Definitely going to check out Solid Aether because of that gorgeous minimalism QuQ Thank you for sharing!
I love one button games. Well done! I could see something like this doing very well on mobile!
Man, I really dig this game. Simple, yet addicting. Managed to score over 110 points. I also love the title. great work, really.
It's naturally fun and addicting. I liked that the mechanics are not explained but can be easily learned by playing, made it more rewarding and more surprising.
Visually is nice, and the sound design fit the game. To be honest it's perfect this way, without music and just the sound made by playing. It sets the right mood.
For a compo game, this is very polished and fun, great work!
Edit: Please play and rate more game so you will receive more feedback and reach the minum of 20!
Edit2: after learning from the comments I can shot more than once I played it again and it is even more funny! It should be a feature if it was not supposed to be!
This game is so addicting!!I can play it all day though there are not BGM.But hit sound is good.
I even done a 12 combos :O [QQ截图20201009211043.png](///raw/c14/c1/z/39ce7.png)
A unique idea, well-executed, with a great aesthetic.
The gameplay had a peggle-like addictive quality at first, but once I got the hang of it a lot of the challenge seemed to evaporate and the fun ebbed away quite quickly. Maybe some kind of scaling difficulty level (smaller enemies? faster enemies?) would not have gone amiss.
The game play is sooo hard but addictive cause of the +1 ball when you shoot, it could be a great game with a bit mush of diversity... But well done for your work !
Really nice game! It was very fun, and I really liked the simplistic art-style and physics. It felt like I could go on forever, but always lost eventually to a string of accidentally throwing the ball straight at the floor. I managed to reach a score of 72 after a while. It would have been nice having a high-score display, but other than that, great entry!
The sounds are super satisfying! Great minimalist art too
This game is very fun and addictive for some reason! It has fast gameplay and restarts so there is no reason to stop playing! It looks and sound very nice! I would've played for even longer if there were a few new things you added (however it's a jam game and therefore this is perfectly fine).
Very neat, I liked the aesthetics. I got like 350 point, after a while it is hard to loose XD Also hitting the ships is easy when they are right at the sling, maybe they should fly a little higher? Had a blast tho.
Very fun little game! Clean graphics, sounds and physics! Only complaint is the stone going off the top of the screen ad hitting things was a bit weird. Really though, I loved it!
This game is fucking addictive. The way game barely even stops when you lose makes it really easy to get back for "one more try". This also made it easy to experiment with the rules without having to read anything.
I got something like 70 points with a 6 or 7 bounce combo :tophat:
I was playing in Wine, but assume that wouldn't affect this - is it intended that the rounds go a bit beyond the bounds of the screen?
P.S. I demand a humor category, the game description is hilarious.
Nice game! SFX are satisfying, though some background music would be nice. Gameplay is very simple and on theme. Clean graphics (would be nice if the ammo in the slings rotated with the slings orientation, rather than just moving position). Would be neat to have a high score tracker since it's quite arcade-y. Being able to sling multiple pieces of ammo is super satisfying to watch bounce all over the screen, not sure if that was intentional but if not it would be cool to see as a possible power-up you could get.
Score 136, after a little practivce almost felt like I could go on forever if i was a bit more careful which was making me lose interest, so probably need to adjust the difficulty ramp.. Really nice feel, interesting core mechanic. Liked the minimalist art style, works well for you. SFX are nice. Would work great as a mobile game I think. Good work.
Really liked the simplistic nature. The sounds really work well with the rest of the game and add a new dimension to it.
Great gamefeel and great use of sound effects! It took me a while to get murder loop timing right, but once I got it the game got pretty addictive!
I also found the aesthetic to work nicely as well! Great work!
It has a shoot'em up vibe but not really! Really smart design, only one button to play, yet the gamefeel with the sounds and the simple but neat graphics work really well!
I'd have appreciated if it got harder with time, this type of game can be pretty endless, I got to 300 x')
Smart interpretation of the theme, pretty fun and skillful, not crays but you can be proud it's a good jam entry!
Spectacular! Could use a leaderboard, I got 162.
