The idea of adding commands to the code while it's running is pretty clever. The game is really slow though, and I think that it'd be a lot more fun to play if there was some way to speed it up. Also, the audio is really loud for some reason. It's a cool concept, although it might have needed a little more time and polishing.

Cool mechanic, and the game worked good. I sadly couldn't get past level 4

The mechanic is cool, yet the game movement is too slow. Each puzzle requires several loops to solve, so it would be better if you could speed up the movement. Also the music is a little bit loud and the too much high frequency, which makes it uncomfortable to listen to. Sadly I also stuck on level 4, don't know how to solve it :(

Nice to see a programming game! Agreed with Zachary Barbanell that it is interesting to edit the programming while it's running. The theme is interpreted as "the looping excution of program", which in fact, is fundamental for all video games...

✔️ I found the main mechanic really interesting, definitely continue to expand on this.
✔️ The interface was simple and effective.
➖ The movement of the character was a bit slow.

Cool game, sprites is great. If gameplay can be optimized, it will be even better, like the interface interaction and moving speed mentioned above
@zachary-barbanell Thank you for your playing! When I hit the publish button, I knew there had to be a problem about the game speed, I can feel it myself:D
@mincho Well, the trick is to put arrows in after you hit the "Let's Loop" button~. I tried to add more mechanics and levels, just couldn't make it in time:D Thank you for playing~
@igaryhe The trick is to put arrows in after you hit the “Let's Loop” button~. Since you're second to stuck at lv4, makes me wonder maybe the level design is not quite fit, Thank you for playing and feedback~
@guoboism Haha, yes! Thank you for your kind words! I myself played a lot programming mechanic game, finally tried making one in LD! Although it looks so ugly and poor, but it shows my way of thinking~
@rngames Thank you for your feedback! I totally agree with the game speed haha. Everyone who played mentioned that! I'l definitly add that.
@rhythm Thanks, for thinking it's cool~ The patch is on the way haha!

Nice game. I think great minds think alike - I think we had both similar approaches to the theme, yet very different games. The way you programmed this worked like a charm, so well done for completing!

Nice game overall, to improve it I have the same opinion that if you increase the speed it will improve a lot the gameplay.

Hey! Not too bad really :) The art drew me in immediately and I hoped for something intrersting. I was "kinda" disappointing to see that it was another "move something in a loop over a level" game. I think it's the third or forth of that kind I've played so far. That's (of course) not inherently your fault, but something to consider when picking the game mechanics for your game. People burn out pretty fast when binge playing ld games. It's always a good idea to add a twist to such a common genre.
Okay, that out of the way: What I did like was the addition of the possibility to leave out programming space and add it later in runtime to solve some of the levels! That was actually pretty clever :) Took me a while to understand that it was possible.
Other than that, it was pretty straight forward. As I said, the art is very clean and looks great. The piece of music at the start of each round was a little too much for me. Something more soothing would've been good. The sharp high notes really tried to pierce my brain :D Had to turn the volume down.
Usability wise, there are some issues left and it feels pretty rough around the edges. It's all very slow (I guess you took into account that people have to react in real time to adjust the pattern) and feels like it's wasting the players time (which is always a no-go). You can still pick up another arrow after the pattern spaces are full and you can't put it down again. Feels strange, but it's not game-breaking.
All in all, still a good compo entry! Keep it up!

Fun little game. As mentioned by others, the movement of the player is quite slow which leads to a significant amount of waiting. Besides that I enjoyed it
Great job!
Really cool as a Compo. Other have mentionned it but the speed is arrrgh. But I can understand you cannot put timing too fast since you have to modify the loop during gameplay, so it can be hard to fine tune with so little time. I personnaly found directly you could add instruction to the loop once you launched it, I could however understand if some people does not get it (and I know that specifically because we did a terrible job at it on our game). Overall, pretty solid.

The core mechanic of the game is actually really interesting, and a creative interpretation of the theme! The fact that commands are permanently added makes it important to plan ahead, in that it forces you to think of how the commands you choose in the beginning will affect the movement later on. You often have to add a certain kind of movement at the start, only to have to work against this very movement later in the level. I feel that especially the last level showed how interesting this mechanic is: it was crucial to get just the right order on the commands both at the start and later in order to win. The concept is simple to grasp, but gets really interesting and challenging quite quickly as the levels become more advanced. I appreciate the effort that goes into this kind of game design, because it really forces you as the creator to think of clever level designs that are challenging, but still have neat solutions, and I really feel like you achieved this very well!
The graphics are simple but concise, and they managed to give the game some personality while still being discrete, leaving room for the gameplay to shine. I think that the audio probably could have been left out, but I understand the will to give some sound to your game. As others have pointed out above the sound was a bit loud and high-pitched, and I think that something more subtle would have been more fitting. I also agree that the looping speed could have been quicker, especially since you often have to sit through the same movement multiple times in order to solve the later part of a level.
Overall, the game lacked a bit in sound and speed, but the core mechanic was really unique and led to very interesting and challenging levels! Well done!

Cool looping mechanic! This was a fun puzzle game :D I think one way you could improve it is by speeding up the process after you press 'lets loop' to go a bit faster (or maybe add an optional fast forward button?). Otherwise I had a blast figuring the levels out :)

Of course, there is room for improvement in your game, but it's already a good, complete game!
My friends tried to create a game with a similar idea, but, alas, to the submission hour, they only managed to make a prototype demonstrating some of the possibilities: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/47/loopman
I also tried to create a game with movement programming mechanics for solo Ludum Dare 27 (iirc it was 2013), but I failed

Really clever puzzle game with programming logic! But I am stuck in level 4, don't know how to solve it... ^_^
Nice concept, the music was a little loud :D
@duke Your review hit my heart Amigo! When I first saw the topic, I stuck in a loop of "Space loop","Time loop" and "Code loop", and I know all three must have tons of great LD games! But after all, it's LD, do sth that you never tried. So I picked the code loop that I never, probably will never tried. Tried my best to code it out, filled sth in that's my own. Wish I had done better :mosque: But well, until next time~ Thank you~
@tatawanda Yeah! Exactly! So now I am thinking carefully how to add the "Speed up" thing properly~ Thank you for playing and comment~
@nikadra Thank you for your kind words~ That means a lot~
@yword LV4 introduce a new way of thinking! Put arrows in after you hit the "Let's Loop" button.:D
@fumybulb We all wanna challenge ourselves in code, design and art in every LD. Some are great, some failed to complete. But at least we put our efforts in right? Thanks for my playing my game~ I am coming to play both you and your friend's haha~ Will see you in next LD~

Very nice little Puzzle game. Really liked the concept and it got very tricky after a while. Excellent work!
Beat it! It's a cool idea, took me a while to figure out you could add stuff while looping. Moody soundtrack, nice art. Well done!
@notime4games Thanks mate! Trying to figure sth special out~ Glad you like it!
