unfortunately feels a bit flat, since the drone does not respond to physics; reading the text is a bit too distracting. couldn't tell if i was keeping the package delivery industry alive or the drone, but i did enjoy dropping packages on rooftops where they're hard to get :)

This is a great great idea.. hahaha i had loads of fun.. want to drop other things too.. wish i could drop some on some of these people and see them get pissed

slimbun 2020-04-21 07:17

Good job guys! First of all, This game looks very good. unfortunately for me the game felt a bit blank. I also don't really appreciate the fact you can't play that in the browser. Over all, the game is pretty good!

pagetb 2020-04-21 07:18

nice game, but i think rockets are too fast

iferit 2020-04-21 07:22

Thats a lot of fun. Good job. I really like the idea, but maybe a picture of the house would be better. I found I spent as lot of time reading the text and trying to build a picture in my head of what the house should look like.

Another idea would be to have a draining battery timer, which the residence of a speedy delivery would supply you fresh ones too so you can keep flying.

I had a lot of fun with your game. Thanks!

mehrdadsh 2020-04-21 07:26

played it for 5min, nice work

noel-widmer 2020-04-21 07:32

The soundtrack is pretty cool :D It took me a while to figure out that I didn't need to find the package first. After I figured that out I was able to quickly deliver a few packages. Some sort of awareness to the rockets would also be nice. I got hit a few times without realizing it.

khyrgrim 2020-04-21 07:34

Funny game, good idea ^^. Maybe make the housses more funny looking because we spend a lot of time looking at them for details.

maindric 2020-04-21 07:34

Pretty cool. I enjoyed it for a few minutes. However, the description could have used work. When avoiding projectiles, I feel a check list would do better than a descriptive paragraph. Also, with having to check the color of the doors, I feel camera control of some sort is a must. Though, really cool concept!

lukas-shiley 2020-04-21 07:35

Well done. Fun game. The only thing I can think of is that you spend a lot of time reading the text to figure out which house to deliver to. I had to just sit somewhere safe and read for a few seconds and then get back to the game play. I see lots of options for you if you continue to expand this game. Good job!

human-writes-code 2020-04-21 08:25

@euix Thanks for the feedback. I agree with all of that! Thanks for playing.

human-writes-code 2020-04-21 08:26

@slimbun I did try to put together a WebGL build but it just didn't want to cooperate unfortunately. Thanks for taking the time to play anyway!

human-writes-code 2020-04-21 08:29

@iferit @maindric @khyrgrim @lukas-shiley Thanks for playing! Yeah, I agree that finding a better way to describe, display or highlight the target houses would be a big improvement. Sadly, I left the quest system until the end and just had to go with a rough text description. Also @maindric, right clicking with the mouse allowed you to pan the camera around but in general the controls needed better explanation, I think.

human-writes-code 2020-04-21 08:30

@noel-widmer Yeah, the rockets could definitely have been improved. Some kind of radar warning or something would have helped. Thanks for the feedback and thanks for playing!

uberpupy 2020-04-21 11:08

It's a good idea and graphics are cool. In other hand, you are almost death by the time you finish reading the description of the house and you didn't find it yet. I don't know what is killing me, if I die because I'm so slow or for other reason.

lenny-rudeberg 2020-04-21 11:45

@iferit Thanks for the feedback! Yeah we thought of similar mechanics and better UI options but we ran out of time unfortunately.

thooom 2020-04-21 12:46

Seems like a good idea this, I was missing some kind of indicator for how I was doing. I did play it a few times to try to beat it, but with no scores or indication on how I was doing I feel like it's just a game that is impossible to beat, or even set high scores in.

Could also be cool to get the instructions by audio so you didn't have to read. Maybe with like distorted radio audio where you'd only get to hear like 2 or 3 of the details between the noise.

human-writes-code 2020-04-21 22:31

@thooom Yeah, there isn't really a "win" condition. It's more just a matter of how long you survive. So a clock of some sort would have been good. I agree. As for the radio voice instructions - we also talked about adding something like that if we decided to keep working on it in the future. Thanks for playing!

macCantBeOpened.pngI seem to be getting this error with a lot of Mac downloads, so you're not the only one. Just wanted to pass it on.

human-writes-code 2020-04-22 06:33

@shaolin-dave Thanks for the heads up. We had no way of testing the Mac or Linux builds and just put them up to give people a chance to run them. If it isn't working though, I'll take it down.

shaolin-dave 2020-04-22 06:51

@human-writes-code I've been researching on this today. I found a way for end users to fix the error so they can play the games, it's a bit tedious though so I don't think many will do it even if they know how. I also found the cause of the problem and a way for developers to prepare their Mac build to prevent it, but you need to do it on an actual Mac.

I appreciate you making an effort to make your game playable for all us Mac people, so I fixed it for you. Please download this and use it as your Mac download: Let me know when you got it so I can remove it from my dropbox https://www.dropbox.com/s/d56qbae40pbfapf/DoomsDayDeliveries.dmg?dl=0

Edit: corrected the file link.

Okay... now that I've actually played the game:

I first noticed that on the menu you have to click the words, not the icons next to them. Minor thing that just threw me off a bit, I'd suggest expanding the clickable area. Music is catchy, title screen looks interesting. I generally don't like the text stories in jam games, it takes too long to get to the action, but I like that yours was short and to the point, and I love how all the words faded out except "keep it alive"... very nice. However, it should be skippable, especially for replays. Its about this time I realize that I'm forced to play in windowed mode, for a stand-alone app a fullscreen option is appreciated. The actual game is pretty fun. I love the innovation of only having descriptions of houses to go by. Being able to rotate might help seeing houses from multiple angles, it's way easier to see houses to the north than to the south, but it's not that bad. Overall a pretty good game.

That drone that saved the humanity had a hard time! - I like the graphic and I think it fits very well with the sounds that you have added to it. I think the difficulty is fair though reading is a bit of a hassle - would be a cool upgrade to make the task graphic. I think the mood of the game is good and I think by adding a score system + some progressive increase in difficulty, this would have been really fun to try to beat previous scores :). - Thanks for the game.

human-writes-code 2020-04-22 22:20

@shaolin-dave Thanks for taking the time to make a fix for the Mac build. I've downloaded it now. If you could point me at some reading about how to solve the build issue, that would be much appreciated! And cheers for the feedback, too. All of those points are completely valid.

human-writes-code 2020-04-22 22:21

@bulle Thanks for playing. Yeah, some sense of progress/score was definitely needed.

ulisses 2020-04-24 20:34

Its a good start, but the drone fells fix in rails. A little feedback in drone moves need to be in the update list, and bounds too. Good Job!

seabird 2020-04-26 07:10

Nice work with this game. Simple, but fun. Easy controls, and motion was smooth. It would be nice if you added a lot more FXs, explosions, colors, etc... Good job.

daniil-tcyvakin 2020-04-27 23:28

really cool, but holding RMB to rotate is disgusting. try another input method, like arrows, polish anims, and you be good!
