very funny game, i very like sounds)

scott-steffes 2020-04-21 08:14

I love the logic behind this game! It feels amazing to figure out the right order to move your pieces in. Great job on the game design, and I know it can't have been easy to make it all in time. Congrats!

cyberfrank 2020-04-21 08:16

Solid entry! Puzzle design is great; nice increase in difficulty and tutorial levels.

juicycrew 2020-04-21 08:17

Really nice idea, simple effective puzzles to solve

lebbyfoxx 2020-04-21 08:19

A game with really fun and challenging puzzles. Really well put together for Ludum Dare, I love it!

peteywoufes 2020-04-21 08:20

I absolutely love this concept. For once, a puzzle game that left me feeling good. Art style is consistent and lovely, and there's obviously some potential for an expanded game here. Difficulty curve is good too. Very impressed! P.S. on itch.io, turn off their built-in fullscreen, it means there will only be one button to press. also, escape doesn't work to reset for me because of the browser.

simansimon 2020-04-21 08:20

This is the most fun and funniest game I've seen so far. I love the sounds :D They are a bit loud tho, I think you should lower by a little bit. The puzzles / maps are great, and there's a lot of content. Overall, a good game. I love your drawings, too .

misterkeefe 2020-04-21 08:20

This is simple and elegant, and I liked the title shout-out to Baldur's Gate - that takes me back!

cg-fred 2020-04-21 08:21

Love the sound effects when falling down! Cute and well done puzzle game. Great work!

lalada 2020-04-21 08:23

Great puzzle Game! Really neat! I enjoyed this game. I'm curious how did you design levels. I made a puzzle game too, it's not easy to design levels.

PS: N is so close to SPACE XD

tamas-turi 2020-04-21 08:24

Nice puzzle game, I love it!

dpeet1 2020-04-21 08:27

This game is really good work, the instructions are so clear through the tutorial stages and immediately makes the player aware of their goal. The puzzles are really well designed, I'd love to see this concept fleshed out after this, could be a great little game.

nosfer 2020-04-21 08:28

Nice - got some sokoban+lost vikings vibe

aditya-kumar 2020-04-21 08:36

Somehow you've managed to make a puzzle game that still feels like a dungeon crawler. You've taken the fun party management feel of RPGs and layered it on top of a slick puzzle game. I would buy this game if I found it on the app store

gucio-miszcz 2020-04-21 08:37

Really good puzzle game - could not stop playing until finishing whole game :)

davidpeterworks 2020-04-21 08:40

Very clear mechanics. It is one of the hardest thing. You managed to do it. Art is ok. It gives a puzzle experience.

simonl 2020-04-21 08:42

Very engaging and nicely balanced. Feels really rewarding to figure out the levels.

Overall very nice, even though soundeffects and graphics could be a little more atmospheric.

great job!

bigsylvain 2020-04-21 08:45

Very nice puzzle game! It was a lot of fun :)

nirose 2020-04-21 09:34

Very fun little puzzle game. I could easily see this as a fun little time waster on my phone.

amkingtrp 2020-04-21 10:56

Thank you, everyone :) The falling noise is my 5 y/o daughter who grab my headset and recorded various sounds for me. Same with the monster (although that was run thorugh Audacity filters first).

Level design was pretty much: Think of a level title (not displayed, but it's things like "Crumbling Bridges") and sketch out the rough layout with walls aound that theme, starting with the end position or major puzzle bit (so for the bridges I sketched out the layout with the floor instead and expanded form there).

and I see people discovered my "secret" cheat code: 'N' for Next Level.

mowemax 2020-04-21 11:05

I really like such game mechanics, art is good. Puzzles are interesting, I even got stuck for a bit, but when you finally solving it, the feeling is great, Good job!

derek-volker 2020-04-21 19:03

Ok, so i'm not a big fun of puzzle games, but this one it's truly special.

Simple concepts, nice mechanics fitting very well the jam's theme. The sounds and graphics are simple, but in a good way, fitting the game as a whole. Really good work.

I could make through all levels (proof below), needing to restart some of them to understand what i have to done and what i done wrong, but they all seems to have a nice difficulty to make them interesting.

Excellent job!

neuronezero 2020-04-21 19:21

Letssss Partyyyyyyy... wipe !!! Fun and cleaver game!

ponypen 2020-04-22 12:08

This a great game!! I've been plaing for a while now and not bored. The sound effects I think make the game, they really add a funny layer to the gameplay :D

palvel 2020-04-22 14:34

Amazing puzzle, I really liked it! 5/5

arttu-halonen 2020-04-22 19:29

A satisfying puzzle game with a nice old school RPG feel, I really liked it! The gameplay was smooth and the different characters and elements were easy to tell apart from each other. I liked the character art, too! For a game jam game it was the perfect length, but with a few more tricks you could expand on this further if you wanted. One improvement could be, that when the player hits a button or activates a switch, because the effect is immediate and the player doesn't necessarily know where the effect is going to show, it can be quite easy to miss what the switch or button just did or activated. A few frames of animation or some visual aid could be nice.

nivbeth 2020-04-22 21:47

Really nice, loved it!

krakadushka 2020-04-23 12:04

Great idea! Passed in one breath)

thooom 2020-04-23 17:57

This was fantastic. I played through all of it, and somehow found the last level to be the easiest. This could really be something to be honest. I'd polish the shit out of this game, add more levels, more characters, more puzzles and you might just have the next Candy Crush game on your hands.

un-ornithorynque-dans-la-piscine 2020-04-23 22:12

Nice game design! =) ang good puzzle! =) I really enjoyed playing it!

shunaky 2020-04-25 01:12

Absolutely incredible, but this audio made my ears bleed (Volume was tooooo loud)

Great puzzling levels I had only one issue, this Esc to return to the menu... sometimes it means to restart the level and others to return to the menu... I was very far into the game and accidentaly pressed ESC when I died, I returned to the level 1, it made me quit... I was REALLY enjoying it but this kinda frustrated me :/

Awesome game ^^

filip-bergkvist 2020-04-25 11:54

Hi! Thank you for rating my game! I wanted to check out what you made too c:

I never finished the game, I couldn't figure out how to get my knight in the front on this part: Hard.png

However I think I have got a good taste of the game in the levels I actually finished.

Pros: I really like the concept, it's the ice puzzles from Pokémon taken to a whole new level since I have to think about all 3 of my party members. It also has some of the fun of those sliding puzzle games, where you know where you want a party member but have to figure out how to get it there. Overall, very fun, and I think the leveld design really shines through, and I didn't think there were too few levels, and all the levels I played had something new to bring. Well done! I also didn't find any bugs or problems!

Cons: However, the graphics and especially audio hold the game back a little for me. I (contrary to many others) think both those areas are very important, so sorry if I am a bit harsh (you were the sole developer though, kudos for making this all on your own!) The graphics, while simplistic give off a very MsPaint look, but it definately gets the job done. The audio however, while the ambience is nice the dying/killing sound effects are loud, harsh and are clipping.

savvu 2020-04-26 16:10

I remember playing this kind of games in my childhood! It was great to see different characters in order to play with both to complete the level! You cou;d definitely add more and more levels and characters to this one!

midnightmist 2020-04-26 17:37

Love this and love the way it makes you think. Reminds me of some of the games I used to play on Miniclip! Excellent how you didnt even need to explain what each character does because it gets engrained into the users head after a couple rounds. Very cool!

ausstein 2020-04-26 17:41

This was a lot of fun! The esc key was not the best choice as it is the same key for escaping the full screen in chrome. Meaning you would always have to hit it twice and then re-maximize the window.

The puzzles were not too easy but also not too hard. I would love an update with a few very hard levels. @ me if you ever release one. The new hand drawn concept art looks also absolutely beautiful :)

ruthiepee 2020-04-26 18:19

I'm impressed how many levels there are in this game! I feel like tutorials too are a rarity in game jams, so kudos for that. It reminds me of sliding puzzles from other games, but with a small twist. The music is understated and helps you concentrate on the puzzles. The sounds were kind of loud, especially the "BLUUHHH" one (even though I have to admit it made me laugh when I first heard it). I came here because I saw your post about changing the character styles and I think you should go for it -- this type of game would do really well on sites like Kongregate if you polished it up, added more levels, and made a nice title screen for it.

nolanfa 2020-04-26 20:44

This was very good! The levels are very well-paced, with the first few levels simple but not boring, and the later puzzles are very well thought-out and interesting (I got stuck for a bit on the second-to-last one and almost quit there). I like the way you used the dnd character archetypes to give them all different powers. I also found the dying sounds very funny.

aeveis 2020-04-29 07:30

I beat it! The puzzles are at a good just hard enough difficulty. Positioning characters as walls for other characters is pretty clever. Some polish things to add could be an undo button. Overall nice job!

magus77 2020-04-30 22:09

i like the idea, graphics, audio. but... i couldn't play it. escape and space work but i can't move the character. neither with arrow keys nor with wasd

amkingtrp 2020-05-01 05:19

@magus77 thanks for letting me know. For troubleshooting purposes, what browser and OS are you using? Do you have any problems with other Unity engine HTML games?

magus77 2020-05-01 08:52

@amkingtrp w10 with latest chrome browser. on other pc it worked fine tho, also with w10 and chrome. i didn't have problems in other games. itch.io is especially great, they support unity games very well. i use them for hosting my games too.

bdmaniak 2020-05-01 14:14

A great example of simple mechanics cleverly used. The graphics are simple yet effective and the puzzles are good. Nice game.

epono 2020-05-01 14:24

Really great game, simple mechanics yet complex puzzles, good job!

akadream 2020-05-01 23:57

That's a good entry. With good puzzles, graphics are simple but effectives and a good ambiance. Nice work !

adamv 2020-05-02 04:29

Awesome game! The puzzles were really fun and the concept is great! Very well done! Only nitpick is I think the restart button should have been "R" instead of escape.

probe31 2020-05-02 05:09

Great game, i like so much the puzzles >D

2020-05-05 17:07

Cute puzzle game! I included it in my Ludum Dare 46 compilation video series, if you want to take a look. :) https://youtu.be/hSxuRpvTWAs

hungrycatgames 2020-07-06 22:49

Well thought out logic. It took a bit before I realized that each character had a special skill. Once I figured that out the puzzles became even more fun to try to figure out.
