Interesting Game. I did not quite understand how it works, but it looks really cool. The sound could be a bit less noisy. Otherwise nice entry :-)
also didn't quite understand it but had fun playing with the pleasant branching mechanic
Similar to others I didn't quite get how the mechanics worked. However the growing system was fun to play around with anyway!
This is super rad! I love the multiplayer. Websockets is pretty ambitious for a game jam and this works nicely. Great work!
Very beautiful game, I did not quite understand what the goal is after you first reach the water but the shapes that the plant makes as it grows are beautiful. Mt only problem with the game was the sound. If you have multiple branches die at the same time the sound is very unpleasant. Besides that the controls are a little figity but I just imagine the amount of time it took you to implement the growth behavior and making it so that you can expend the plant from any point and I don't see any time left for polishing the controls. Great entry.
Not quite sure what interactions between players does but still very impressive.
@pedromgdo Weird! It seems to work for the others? I've not had any issues with it this morning..
@barelos Thanks a lot! Sounds were thrown in with 20 minutes to spare so fair enough ;) Appreciate the feedback!
This was an original idea. Missing some kind of button or start option when you actually grow together. It just kind of stops and then I have to reload the page. I couldn't completely understand the link between the sounds and the roots, but it felt like it was vinyl related somehow. Maybe we should be able to grow "other sounds" or something too.
No idea how the mechanics work, but I love it. Looks organic, surprising, puzzling, like a very stubborn painting tool or something :)
@thooom I ran out of time towards the end so had to rush in this "ending", I want to keep working on it as the original idea was to have it generate a vinyl cover based on your roots & play some music. Thanks for the feedback!
interesting mechanic, I think it could use a more expansive environment though. That's an idea I'd like to see in a game, where you're a single giant organism creeping around somewhere
original idea, but i have no idea whats going on :(
Cool! Very unique idea and I like it!
The game looks nice, but I'm not really sure what the goal is.
Very nice looking game and an interesting concept. I'm a little confused as too what is going on though.
I'm too confused about mechanics. But looks good.
Lovely little project (also your VR garden game looks cool!). This makes me want a mode where you can export images of the branchy structures you create.
I couldn't figure out exactly what was making some roots die - like it looked like they were in the water, but then they just started going black and falling off.
I enjoyed just growing roots, though. The shapes that the root systems form combined with the blue dot of water in the center and vibrant green creates a beautiful gestalt. It's like a modern art album cover.
Very original! Unfortunately I was alone when I played, but I will try again later!
@entitynull You can right click the game at the end and save the image out! :) Thanks a lot!
@f4kethis Thanks! Vinyls were a big influence :)
Love the idea of survive by connecting with others (especially strangers). I think this allows for you to create something beautiful with others, which you don't often get a chance to do in games. I unfortunately, didn't fully understand the mechanic. It felt like every time I connected a root to another, it would start dying.
I'm not sure how this works and what I'm doing, but this is extremely satisfying and addictive.
this seems to be a great analogy for my ability to look after plants. great simulation! 😂
Really interesting concept! I love it!
Nicely implemented mechanic and on point with the theme. Solid entry .
Awesome game, really good.
I'm not sure I understood anything, but my frankenplant says hello. It told me to tell you it's enjoying it's newly given life and will sure live life to its full.
A strange and cool experiment :))!
Interesting idea. Like the other here, I'm not quite sure what I'm doing, but its addictive in its own way. And it looks cool!
I like the concept ! May be less the executions but the minimalism is appreciated :) Good job !
this is a pretty wild game...
It's hard to understand how the mechanic works, and after a while you get stuck wondering if you should have done something differently. But I think it's the most interesting part of the game ! experimenting with this awesome mechanic and create something new everytime. Good job, looks challenging to program
Interesting idea.
I played this game! I liked it! You are good with colours!
Oh MY! This game is very nice! I made a pretty plant and then a friend made a pretty plant and it was good. Well done.
Really interesting take on the theme. Nice concept. Keep up the good work!
I am in love with this innovative idea <3
