LD46 — Keep it alive

Crystal Tag by uvwar 2020-04-20T03:21:32Z

Man that was very abstract. I liked how it looked but I could only figure out what to do after reading the description. I guess you could've started with a simpler level to demonstrate the mechanics and then move on to something with more elements.

Broken Hearts by egoregor 2020-04-20T02:31:02Z

This is one of those jam games you actually keep playing, fun stuff. You could have the bullets become visible way before they can hit you, and perhaps in later levels have a thingy to touch that'd collect all the hearts and then you'd have to collect a few more. Anyway, cool game

A Night In The Dark by lectvs 2020-04-20T02:52:31Z

Nice graphics. Is that clone guy immortal? It comes to a point where it feels like it's hopeless to keep fighting.

Spirit cave by smiley 2020-04-20T19:28:57Z

Everything moves at the right pace, good work. Could use some indication of where I'm supposed to go or a feeling that there's some progress happening.

Nice one.

@madbookstudios I swear my next jam game the FIRST thing I'll do is a start screen.

@bjakubowski sorry! What happened to cause the sound to go too loud?

@moomka some stuff I had thought of adding from level 3 onwards: villages with houses and little people to burn down, burning people running around setting fire to things you didn't want to burn, enemy units destroying your scarecrows, putting out your fires, player-buildings to defeat those enemies, block them. I had started working on flying enemy units but then my time was up.

@alex-mulkerrin thanks, right now I'm working on adding more content and I've increased the flame radius too. I'll release a small game from this I suppose, maybe some 7 levels or so. I really dug the concept.

ReOrb by aayush 2020-04-20T03:09:26Z

Good graphics and presentation, could use a bit more speed and polished controls on the mouse.

Save Satan by SimonTheCase 2020-04-20T02:51:07Z

Neat. I like it when a basic mechanic can be used in different ways and I also like it how the game's fast paced without the player actually doing any combat. I think you could've used with more feedback for the player though, and less abstract looking things. I couldn't tell early on if something was an enemy or a collectable. Adding a pair of eyes into things goes a long way.

Wandering Star by twigames 2020-04-20T13:43:33Z

Looks and sounds really good. I think the growth should be more visible

B.U.B.B.A. Express by Pizzasgood 2020-04-20T02:46:56Z

I liked the ship moving along with you, but the game could be more forgiving.

Rock Raiser by SpliceDev 2020-04-20T03:17:23Z

You know what, I liked this one. It's what it is yeah but... I don't know, something special about it

The Core by NoobException 2020-04-20T02:55:02Z

Aside from rotating too slowly, I think you could've made the bullets bigger and holding to shoot.

The fisherman task by Huntrox 2020-04-20T13:34:45Z

I couldn't fish. Nice aesthetics and mood though.

X33D by Ben Taylor 2020-04-20T03:02:03Z

Definitely different than the rest but I couldn't figure out how to create anything different or even what I was creating.

X33D by Ben Taylor 2020-04-20T03:20:09Z

@ben-taylor I feel ya. Once I made a jam game based on six degrees of separation, where you'd have to find kevin bacon inside an entire universe. The idea was you would get an alien, check their friends and try to jump from friend to friend until you found Kevin Bacon. So I spent a long time creating the procedural planets and procedural aliens with their procedural faces and their procedural jobs and procedural travel patterns... before I knew it I had just a bunch of procedural aliens that I didn't know what to do with.

Chicky's Delivery Service by Jelle Vermandere 2020-04-20T03:06:28Z

Hah, don't think I've ever played something like this. I think if it was easier I'd have played more. Have you considered adding more eggs at once? Also perhaps make it more playful than challenging. Either way, nice.

GRDN by bjornkri 2020-04-20T19:34:04Z

It's fun how it escalates quickly

Solar Colonizer by The Missing Bracket 2020-04-20T13:29:20Z

Always cool to see games scaling things up. I think the game could've used more friction early on and more focus on the living beings. Also the fire/ice shard thing they're mirrored resources so they both put the same kind of pressure on your game and therefore become redundant. It'd be interesting if a second type of resource had some marked differences like being more scarce, more valuable or having different means of acquisition.

With more friction and different pressures on the player the game could improve.

Grow Together by johnjoemcbob 2020-04-20T13:17:22Z

interesting mechanic, I think it could use a more expansive environment though. That's an idea I'd like to see in a game, where you're a single giant organism creeping around somewhere
