Neat. I like it when a basic mechanic can be used in different ways and I also like it how the game's fast paced without the player actually doing any combat. I think you could've used with more feedback for the player though, and less abstract looking things. I couldn't tell early on if something was an enemy or a collectable. Adding a pair of eyes into things goes a long way.

@feferuco Thanks for feedback

Nice game ! but it's not super clear what to do when you start ^^' And I kept pushing the ball out of the screen, I think it would be a little bit easier to start if the orbs bounced of the borders of the screen when thrown at it. But the particles are neat !

Nice game idea, took a while to get a grasp of the objective but once i got it I found the core idea very unique and fitting to the theme! Nicely done.

pixipit 2020-04-21 11:42

GJ! I think we need mor game like this with unique mechanics.

deadwave-games 2020-04-21 11:43

A really interesting core gameplay idea and good usage of the theme!

I found the controls (charging up and pushing) quite hard to get hold of - I would personally think that it would work better if you just click to let off a pulse rather than charging, but I'm sure you could think about that sort of thing when doing more playtesting and tuning.

Well done - thanks for sharing!

@t8kk Thanks for playing!

Really nice job. Satan needs saving, and there is no doubt about that! - I really like the mechanic of working in directions and the delay that you have when you do it. Would be nice to add some context on top like who is after satan, types of enemies, etc. - to get the atmosphere even more going. But great entry.

Interesting project. A bit hard for me :/

slimbun 2020-04-21 11:46

It looks like a pretty nice game. I didn't really understood what do you need to do in the game. It would be helpful if you would add a tutorial.

mad-jester 2020-04-21 11:46

Keep Satan as an angel, why not :) The mechanic is simple but well employed. But how to know what do ennemies? The description doesn't help. You should work on the affordance of the sprites.

yinian 2020-04-21 11:48

At first I thought it was a simple game, but soon I knew I was wrong. Overall, the idea was good, the game was challenging, and maybe I'll try it a few more times

voidsay 2020-04-21 11:49

Good game idea!

It's quite challenging, but I'm sure with some practice one could play for a long time.

Would be cool if you added some sort of score and limited the area the player can move so it dosn't go off-screen.

jack-mcpherson 2020-04-21 11:49

I liked it! Mechanics used in progressive and interesting ways. Nice trance style music overall well done a good take on the theme!

maytch 2020-04-21 11:52

Interesting idea and challenge. Like others mentioned it wasn't quite clear at the very start, but then it clicked and became obvious. Good job!

puszkee 2020-04-21 11:53

Very fun to play!

svarttand 2020-04-21 11:54

Really nice game, The music was pretty nice, it added to the mood. Some sound effects would have been nice and then there were one enemy that didn't have any texture, it was just a black box. Didn't really fit in. Another thing you could have added was screen share. its something many forget but adds a ton ton the feel of the game.

bredcrumb 2020-04-21 11:55

Cool idea! Pushing back the satan and orbs feelt responsive, but I'd sometimes randomly die, but maybe I just didn't notice something :D Otherwise than that I like it!

solah 2020-04-21 11:56

Wow, keeping satan alive, I did not see that coming xD. The idea of just pushing back the enemies so satan can kill them without being harmed is really clever!

The music is pretty good but the game lacks of sound design. It is also quite hard.

Well done!

This game is fun, and surprisingly difficult given the simple set of mechanics. Being able to push the orb around with the same move used to push around enemies is interesting, especially since you can accidentally throw the orb into danger if you aren't careful. One thing I think would help this game a lot is having the enemies telegraph their actions with audio and visual cues. The game seems like it's very much about prioritizing dealing with enemies in a way that doesn't put the orb in danger, and I think this would be more interesting if you were able to tell *when* any given enemy would pose a threat. Currently, it feels a lot more random since I don't have a way of guessing track of when a blue orb is going to transform into a black one, or when a green orb would shoot at you. Taking this even further, it might be good to be able to have a hint about enemies spawning before the actually appear, so you could position yourself to prepare for it.

llewellyn-and-michael 2020-04-21 11:58

Cool music, I had some issues where my dash was very late or didn't work other than that great game

simex 2020-04-21 12:00

As others have said, I struggled a bit in the beginning to understand how to play, but I think it's just because the game doesn't communicate that well. When I died and the screen just froze for like 2 sec and the tutorial text move around, so I thought that I was still in the tutorial, not that I was getting my ass handed to me.

tic 2020-04-21 12:02

I was a bit lost trying to understand what will pass through me, and sometimes why I lost as nothing was on satan but the game became red / the tutorial text kept coming back. I liked the sound, I also liked the sprites for the player character and the devil, but the enemies were kind of hard to figure out. I also sometimes disappeared of screen when the green thing pushed me (I think that's what happened as my player just vanished after being hit by one of these)

plagueofminds 2020-04-21 12:06

The idea is very cool, and I like how strategic it forces you to have to be. I think it would have a better fantasy if you used less abstract art, but the way you render them is very interesting. Great Game!

yingxin 2020-04-21 12:14

Nice idea! Good game once you get the hang of it. I think a couple of really simple improvements would help: - Slower difficulty ramp up, so that you can experiment with the controls and enemies a bit longer - I found them a bit confusing and difficult to get the hang of - Clearer visual difference between enemies vs shots. (It would be nice to have more of a story for the enemies as well - rather than them just being unexplained blobs!)

lukvasando 2020-04-21 12:14

The music in this game is the thing that makes this game top notch. I really enjoyed playing this! Excellent job!

vesper 2020-04-25 10:44

Nicely done. There was a bit of a learning curve with the mechanics, but overall the gameplay was fun and challenging. I personally would have preferred a bit more atmosphere/setting regarding why there's an angel swooping around trying to save Satan, it would have made my more invested in the outcome. But otherwise I had fun! Great music too.
