LD46 — Keep it alive

SIPHON by OldBlack 2020-04-21T11:13:19Z

This looks really cool! Any chance you could upload a WebGL version? Trying to play it on mac.

Mayday by awerar 2020-04-21T10:48:28Z

Hey! This looks really interesting. Any chance you can publish it to HTML5 or something? The mac version doesn't work (I think because of security restrictions on unsigned apps?).

A lost fire by Barbiche 2020-04-21T10:57:59Z

Hey! This was fun! I liked the ways you simplified the "survival" genre to make things like crafting possible with a smaller scope. Also the capsule was hilarious.

Dr. Glebin's Electric Brain by Daniel Alhadeff 2020-04-20T10:00:39Z

Had the same issue with the Mac app. Would be awesome if you could upload a HTML5 version!

The Creature Dies. by senokos 2020-04-20T10:39:00Z

This game was so great! I loved it. Really well executed. Particularly enamoured with the persistence. It was very satisfying when I tried to refresh the page after letting it die. Big testament to attention to details and simplicity.

Balanced Parenting by Spaghetti 2020-04-21T10:39:44Z

Haha, this was fun! Nice work building a game with new tools in a weekend!

Keep the flame alive by Dimling 2020-04-20T08:22:13Z

This was fun! Thanks for making it. I couldn't see the spiders for some reason so would mysteriously die. I liked the simple structure and gameplay that had enough depth to be interesting. Had to balance searching for matches vs finding the chopper. Have a good one!

Late Medieval Network Engineer by MisterKeefe 2020-04-21T11:47:35Z

This was fun! I really liked the card game battle minigame. Really easy to understand and quite satisfying.

Embers by Barelos 2020-04-20T10:12:22Z

This was fun! Thanks. I loved that you managed to fit in stuff like dialog along with the sound, graphics, gameplay, levels, etc.

Pogo by Motley 2020-04-20T10:30:26Z

Thanks! This was quite fun. Really satisfying jump.

Keep Him Alive by Convg 2020-04-21T11:39:28Z

Hey! This was fun to play. I liked that there were absurd amounts of loot!

Let's stick together by syo 2020-04-21T11:33:35Z

Hey! Finally got around to playing your game (thanks for playing mine!). This was pretty cool. I like that it was a new take (puzzle game) on a genre classic.

StarMart by LadislavOdstrcil 2020-04-21T11:04:10Z

Hey, any chance you could upload a WebGL version? This looks cool but I'm on Mac!

X33D by Ben Taylor 2020-04-20T03:12:58Z

@feferuco thanks for playing! Yeah the gameplay really suffered, I spent much too long on the systems that tied everything together and not enough time on... making it fun :P

X33D by Ben Taylor 2020-04-20T09:50:57Z

@gajop thanks for playing! Yeah I'm not sure I would want to go in the direction of "explaining" that. The vibe I want to get is say cultivating plants, or breeding animals. You don't really know how the system underneath works you just put things together and see what comes out. I think there needs to be more structure and encouragement in that direction + tools for inspecting the traits of each. Also the way they grow is mostly unsatisfying but sometimes really cool.

My original idea was that it would be social and there would be a public gallery, but I didn't have enough time to build that!

Anyway, thanks!

X33D by Ben Taylor 2020-04-20T09:51:11Z

@syo thanks!

X33D by Ben Taylor 2020-04-20T21:55:43Z

Thanks @freya-c and @jonah! Love to get the serotonin hit of positive feedback!

I think the gameplay could use more “collect and share” mechanics to make it feel more like a collectible system.

X33D by Ben Taylor 2020-04-21T11:25:01Z

Thanks @misterkeefe - the nickname mechanism is a super cool idea! They kind of just grow indefinitely but get slower and slower over time, so they reach a end-ish point. If you leave them open in a tab they can end up getting absurdly big.

@convg thanks for the kind words!

X33D by Ben Taylor 2020-04-21T12:09:18Z

@framboisedodue thanks! I'm glad you found it!

X33D by Ben Taylor 2020-05-01T11:21:54Z

Thank you @mudlee, @herrybiscuit, @noirdrive and @knason. It’s so nice to see people enjoying my weird thing!

@mudlee: Yeah, I think the growing needs to be fast at the start and slow at the end!

@herrybiscuit: Thanks! I quite enjoyed making something weird.

@noirdrive: Thank you so much! I’m not much of a music/audio person - just learning.

@knason: Yeah, the mechanics are not very good for collecting, when the whole fun of this kind of game is collecting! What was I thinking! :P

Mr. Fluff by Nazorus 2020-04-20T10:26:41Z

Thanks! That was really fun. I love the idea of combining shooting with tamagotchi!

Cryoloop by Freya C 2020-04-21T12:00:49Z

Uhhhh this was so cool! I really loved the world building, the graphical style and the core time loop mechanic. I find that often game jam games are too hard, but by building a timeloop into it you've made it possible to try and try again to get different outcomes. Very cool. Thanks for making something so interesting!

Sacred Gardener by Hanamigi 2020-04-20T10:18:47Z

Thanks! That was fun. The walking animation was really cool. In general nice art. Cheers.

campfire by jonah 2020-04-21T12:08:52Z

This was super cool! Love the simple mechanic. Was really easy to jump in and understand. Plus it was fun!

Stand Still by Draelent 2020-04-21T11:21:18Z

This was fun! Nice work for 7 hours!! I liked the interesting combination of vertical and horizontal restrictions.

LD48 — Deeper and deeper

Fathom Pass by Listonos 2021-04-26T07:05:31Z

Thanks, that was really interesting! I loved the niche presentation of the game through the TV and remote.

Scriptless Pipes by Turkey 2021-04-26T03:40:17Z

Hey! Thanks for making this, was really cool. I'm a web dev so was cool to see the neat things you did.

GriDelve by fixxel 2021-04-26T08:55:56Z

Thanks! That was fun! The graphics were really cool. I liked the strategy aspect of the game as well, though it was a bit hard to understand at first.

Legendelver by DroidDare 2021-04-26T08:48:43Z

Hey! This was really cool, thanks for making it. I really like the idea of "delving" into a legendary card, what a cool concept.

Despair by blaster391 2021-04-28T23:24:37Z

This was fun, thanks!

D. R. I. L. L. by Invixel 2021-05-15T10:30:57Z

Really enjoyed this. Thanks! Loved the rhythm game aspect.

Ovuli by Wabble 2021-04-26T05:20:59Z

Thanks! That was fun. I liked the challenge of it and the art was great! The controls felt a bit "off".

Deep trouble in the art gallery by Rob Parker 2021-04-26T09:09:38Z

Haha this was great! I had a good chuckle and enjoyed how many "things going wrong" you managed to fit in such a small space!

Snake on a Sphere by MachWerx 2021-04-26T03:11:25Z

Nice work! I really liked how the sphere getting smaller and smaller naturally increases the difficulty.

Riches Await Below by Hunter X 2021-04-26T10:03:52Z

Cool to see a task management game in LD! I liked the game design but it was quite slow (as others have said).

N/A by Ethan Hammonds 2021-04-26T03:42:14Z

Hey, any chance you could build a Web or Mac version? Looks great!

N/A by Ethan Hammonds 2021-04-26T04:45:18Z

@ethan-hammonds no worries, thanks anyway!

Shleep by drewstillwell 2021-04-26T04:44:45Z

Hahaha this was so weird and fun. Cool experience. Would love to have tighter controls, and higher "stakes" in the more action-y parts. But very fun and funnny otherwise!

Space Dwarf Alchemist Go! by BlackOpsBen 2021-04-26T05:58:37Z

This was fun! I feel like I broke the game very quickly but then kept playing anyway? I guess that's idle games. Nice work!

Elevator Ninja by Loig 2021-04-26T09:14:17Z

Hahaha, this was really fun! Thanks for making it. You managed to make some classic gameplay have really good gamefeel.

Miningsweeper by Nick Barrash 2021-04-26T03:34:51Z

Thanks for making this! I found the use of the minesweeper mechanic really interesting. I thought it was a really cool way to design a strategy game. You also added a lot of cool details on top which worked really well. I was a bit disappointed by the balance of the game. I found just clicking and attacking everything was the best way to play, which meant it lost the strategy element. With better balancing this would be super fun!

HYPERTUBE 3021 by Ben Taylor 2021-04-26T03:48:59Z

@drewstillwell @doc-kaos Thanks so much!

HYPERTUBE 3021 by Ben Taylor 2021-04-26T04:02:36Z

@bkelly Thanks! I definitely tweaked difficulty in a few different ways and haven't landed on something I love.

@cheesepencil Haha, thanks! I really like flat colours but could probably have gone a little bit of shadow and texture in there.

@turkey Cheers! Yeah I ended up running out of time to sort out the character and the camera. Would have liked better camera and a ragdoll character that re-orients.

HYPERTUBE 3021 by Ben Taylor 2021-04-26T08:49:55Z

Thanks @rhoff95 and @listonos! Very helpful feedback.

HYPERTUBE 3021 by Ben Taylor 2021-04-27T00:12:49Z

@loig Thanks heaps!

@acdia A proximity noise is a really good idea, would help assist in being more intuitively reactive.

@redspine Thanks!!

@ariorick Cheers, I'll check out your game!

@joonamo Thanks! Yeah I was testing it in the little unity player for ages, then first time I played it full screen WOW.

@chensu Thanks for playing!

Afraid to Turn by rhoff95 2021-04-26T07:43:10Z

@mudlee you've gotta click the moon to start!

Afraid to Turn by rhoff95 2021-04-26T07:44:08Z

This was fun! I really liked your artwork and the sound design was great. I tried finishing it twice, but I found the controls really hard. Especially because my mouse can't left + right click at the same time! Cheers anyway, nice work.

Deep Memory by Gastoon 2021-04-26T09:05:54Z

Thanks for making this! I couldn't figure out how to finish it, but clicked around a lot and read everything.

Crypto-mine Disaster by Doc Kaos 2021-04-26T04:50:26Z

Thanks this was fun! I found the controls really difficult to remember so kept killing myself lol. The combo of puzzle + intensity was a good way to make it fun. Nice!

Fishious Depths by AlissaMcGill 2021-04-26T03:36:12Z

Hey! Any chance you could do a Web build? Would be keen to try it but only have a Mac.

Deep Sea by Phlebas 2021-04-26T05:33:10Z

Thanks! That was fun. I particularly liked the art it was really good. I also thought it was a cool concept that explores the theme in two different but cohesive ways.

Dig Deeper & Deeper: Go Deep (HTML5) by vexorian 2021-04-26T04:37:35Z

This was fun! Thanks for making it. I didn't get particularly far in because I found the puzzles too hard. But really cool vibe and neat to see a puzzlescript game in the compo.

Excavation Site Alpha by petra_the_kat 2021-04-26T03:57:25Z

Thanks for this! I thought the mechanic was quite interesting. And the art is great!

Vibin' Secrets by mDuo13 2021-04-26T09:51:58Z

That was fun! I liked the hidden object mechanic.

Deep into the vibe by Ariorick 2021-04-27T00:24:51Z

This was really fun! I loved your art style and the rotating mechanic was very cool.
