Good relaxing game!

emperor-eagle 2020-04-21 00:34

This is really cool! Simple and effective. Great base mechanic which is replayable, nice art, and the theme is inspired. You've done really well, especially to teach yourself Unity during the quarantine. I hope you continue with game development!

chrissx2 2020-04-21 00:38

That was simple yet very enjoyable and cute. Good job! :)

redkoalastudios 2020-04-21 00:38

Farely basic in gameplay, however, it could be spiced up greatly with a few more mechanics, like maybe adding weight to the egg so it tips the nest more so that moving the nest does more with the egg, or adding enemies or objects that push the egg off. It is relaxing, as the person above me stated.

Great job. It's got a nice simple mechanic which results in a game that is surprisingly fun to play.

However, a few bugs, probably with the images. Around stages 11 or 12 the image became really small, just for that stage before reverting. Then around stage 40 the image disappeared entirely. It was still gone when I lost in stage 42.

omg...YOU GUYS REALLY DID PLAY MY GAME!!

this means a lot to me,i spent almost all my wake hours trying to get this to work.

about the mechanics: I wanted to add so many things! weights, food and hunger bar,an ending were you wave goodbye to your creature, selectable colors, ECT ECT.

about the bugs: i know about them , i just had to compromise and fix what i could before dropping asleep on the pc.

again,thank you so much

Nice! Kind of relaxing game experience, the egg and dragon are very cute. Could use some more disturbances later (birds trying to snatch the egg or the hatched dragon etc) I can well imagine this as a little mobile game (where you tilt the phone or tablet to balance). Well done!

murrzipan 2020-04-21 10:38

Definately needs to be harder cause I could just keep the nest level and the egg rarely went anywhere near the edge. That being said, if the difficulty was cranked up a bit, you could have a real gem here. Good work!

ben-taylor 2020-04-21 10:39

Haha, this was fun! Nice work building a game with new tools in a weekend!

steven-c 2020-04-21 10:41

Nice little game. But after a while the music stops, and at level 40 the dragon suddenly disappears  The jumping seems rather random, what's the logic behind it? All in all, for a first game, this is rather nicely done

chickencastle 2020-04-21 10:41

Haha Awesome work! Simple and fun trying to keep that little guy on the platform. I also experience the level 42 bug, was trying to go for the big 100 hoping for some kind of secret payoff  Great job getting your first game out there!

mirsakka 2020-04-21 10:43

Oh this was nice! Really wanted to protect the cute egg. Great start as a first game.

spaghetti 2020-04-21 11:01

OOKKOOKOKOK bug fixes are on their way (is it legal for the jam?)

@steven-c jumping is just a little push with random vertical and horizontal forces( balanced in order to be challenging to keep it in the middle but not frustrating to just let it jump out) @chickencastle I REALLY DIDN'T EXPECT PEOPLE TO PLAY THIS LONNNNNGGG haha

level 100 is the super secret ending were you are prod of your baby an it flies away (no i'm kidding didn't manage to program it)

squeg-inc 2020-04-21 11:02

this'd make a great mobile game! honestly, same feedback as everyone else - great job on a first game! definitely keep polishing this one, and it'll make a great play :)

It's great game for a first game. It's playable and fun so you win your challenge. Don't stop making games ;)

2020-04-21 12:04

Awesome game, can't stop playing it. I even forgot how to eat or reply to my dying grandpa.

spaghetti 2020-04-21 12:07

bro,that's dark

samuel-hollywood-summers 2020-04-21 18:24

Fun game. I think it would benefit from an increasing difficulty level though. Once it hatched it actually became easier to keep alive. You could also have set the music to loop, because once it drops out the fun really does start to go. Great effort for a first game, well done!

cannocchiale 2020-04-23 09:53

I will care for this baby for the rest of my life. So cute :)

spaghetti 2020-04-23 16:09

grazie @cannocchiale ;)

mulberg 2020-04-26 03:09

That is a great first game! It is simple, short, understandable. The core mechanics is quite interesting, actually. I believe that it can be easily become a foundation for a simple mobile game. Who knows!?

It'd be nice to add a "Victory" screen) I played till level 16 waiting for something new to happen =)

Btw, my game is also about an egg =)

spaghetti 2020-04-26 10:29

@mulberg thank you for playing, i put in what i could.

I see many games about eggs in the entries, maybe because it's something simple and fragile, ideal to keep alive

spaghetti 2020-04-26 14:00

added some mobile support in the fixed version ( just touch left or right part of the screen to rotate)

julienlussiez 2020-04-27 22:08

36 is my score. It's cool for a first game, it could be interesting to add more transformations along the game, making a bigger dragon maybe ?

frosty 2020-04-27 22:11

Great little first game! Nice and simple mechanics, and I enjoyed watching the egg progress each turn.

Nice job!

I think that many people would gladly take care of a child and raise him in love and care, but not everyone has this opportunity. Probably, if not for modern technologies and [surrogacy in india](https://worldcenterofbaby.com/countries/india/), then many would have to give up their dreams. That is why I'm glad that we have the Internet, technology and various solutions to the problem.
