LD46 — Keep it alive

Something Magical by wasd 2020-04-21T16:29:15Z

I really liked that ending screen, I was playing for a while and while I really enojoyed the tone and pace, I was starting to wonder where it was going, I'll probably pick this up again at some point. thanks for making such a lovely game :)

Keep the Keep by firellon 2020-04-21T09:05:43Z

I like this. I'll be keeping this one bookmarked. I don't think I have anything negative to say. Great job!

Dragon Eggs: Greatest Hits Edition by Shaolin Dave 2020-04-21T10:50:03Z

It's a really cool board game, I might see if I can make it with paper and counters haha My two criticism would be it needs some more visual feedback like people have said(maybe put some markers on the board where your guys can move) and the dice are a bit slow to fall. I had fun playing though!

The Machine at the Center of the Earth by p53 2020-04-21T13:02:18Z

I like the visual style, but the audio was a bit grating to my ears. Would have been nice to have a map for the lights as well. The controls were nice and tight though and I liked your interpretation of the theme.

Solais by dragonxvi 2020-04-20T14:12:44Z

This was really cool, the spikes were a bit hard to see in some places, but other than that, I really liked the graphics.

Broken Threads by Jeremy Ryan 2020-04-20T13:06:29Z

I really enjoyed the gameplay, atmosphere and audio. Got a lot of undertale vibes, but I thought it was still very fresh and fun. I thought the use of the players name was shockinging enough, the shutdown I found kinda annoying, but regardless it was a very awesome game. I guess cause my pc has a slow startup routine I'm less likely to try to finish it, though I'd like to. I think what I'm trying to say is please make a version that doesn't shut down and I'll love you.

Hacking is Probably Not Like This by sayumeki 2020-04-20T15:31:21Z

This was really well made but it went over my tiny mind

Advise the King by Arden 2020-04-22T14:01:26Z

There is nothing I would change about this game. Maybe add a save feature? 5/5

Seasonal Survivor by rigdonware 2020-04-21T18:49:37Z

@tompudding haha same I liked the concept a lot and it was pretty well implemented. The visuals were cute and I felt bad swatting the snails and caterpillars. I liked the weather and having to juggle the swatter and umberella. The help at the start was really effective. My only two criticisms are it could be a tad harder, and I'd like some more visual feedback for the swatter, as when it's moving it's hard to notice the sprite change. Nice job!

Lich Clicker by Fictions 2020-04-20T13:25:51Z

I wasn't sure what the goal was at the start, I think with some more content this would be pretty addictive though

Fish Escape by PinballJunior 2020-04-20T13:38:23Z

It was a little difficult to slow the fish down in some places but it was fun and I liked how the gameplay tied into the theme! :)

Power Slime Shootout by Extrone 2020-04-21T13:13:49Z

The menu appealed a lot to me. I like the transition from the menu to the game. I think with a couple more maps it could have lots of replay value and I would probably pay for a multiplayer version of the game. Lots of fun, hope you get enough people that can run unreal engine to play it XD

Lights On by henriquecanella 2020-04-21T18:16:01Z

The music was a bit too short and repetitive(especially between screens), and the hitbox for attacking was a bit too small, since you can't attack from the front. Like some people said, the repair takes too long aswell since if you die you have to do them again. I would also suggest the fix mechanic be bound to 'C' instead of 'S' for a little more comfort. Onto the positive! I really liked the graphics and the in-game help. I'm not sure if it was just me but I liked the wall jump and I figured it out quite quick because of the level design. The flash mechanic was really cool as well. Nice atmosphere as well.

The Last Burito by lazarche 2020-04-21T18:31:17Z

This was really impressive. I really liked the graphics, the music really set the tone, the controls were possibly the slickest I've played in LD so far(also really liked the camera shake with an attack- gives it some weight), and the dash was a great way to get around the map without making it trivial to get around. Only thing I would like to say is it could do with some buyable upgrades between waves, but given this is LD and you managed to cram so much goodness in, it's not really a big deal. Congrats!

Cosmic Felk is Dead! Long Live Cosmic Felk! by Qazikol 2020-04-20T16:53:31Z

Great game. My two complaints would be that I felt I didn't have a huge impact on the outcome(that might just be a genre thing) and it could have be anti-ailiased a bit more(it was a bit disorientating). Other than that though, I really liked the story, it really made me smile at the end.

KingdomKeeper by BGameDev 2020-04-20T12:52:59Z

My only complaint was that it was too easy. But it's really awesome and if it was a little harder I'd play this a lot.

Balanced Parenting by Spaghetti 2020-04-21T10:38:33Z

Definately needs to be harder cause I could just keep the nest level and the egg rarely went anywhere near the edge. That being said, if the difficulty was cranked up a bit, you could have a real gem here. Good work!

Beeeees by Corporation 2020-04-20T13:14:45Z

Pretty cool idea, the movement was smooth af, music was kinda annoying though

Feed Me More! by Itskdog 2020-04-22T11:18:40Z

I don't think I would have worked out the gameplay without that tutorial screen, that was a good idea. I found the monster to be a little annoying(thought the voice acting was good) but that might just be me haha. I'd be more inclined to want to keep it alive if it was more endearing Once I worked out the mechanics with the machines, it was really quite fun though, juggling the upgrades and food made for a really strong foundation for a game. Good job!

By Lantern's Light by Chez3 2020-04-22T12:12:24Z

Like people said, the camera was a bit low, and I also thought some of the graphics were a little iffy. I'd also change the jump button to jump once, rather than repeatedly as I kept landing on a platform I couldn't see and jumping too early. Other than that, very strong game, one of my favourites. The audio design was easy 5* and very appealing to listen to. Controls were pretty tight, and the mechanics were clever and enjoyable. Level design was overall very good. The ending took me by surprise and I wasn't sure how to feel, but it had a bittersweetness that I won't forget in a hurry. Grand job, you've got something to be proud of here! :)

The Adventures of Eggbert by BattleCat 2020-04-20T16:13:10Z

The music is my favourite part, my only complaint is that it's too easy to grab the egg and stay on a safe branch until it hatches. Lots of fun though!

The Adventures of Eggbert by BattleCat 2020-04-20T18:22:44Z

@battlecat I'm not sure, but I would probably take them away

A Life Learned by Irx99 2020-04-21T15:56:03Z

I think I ran into a bug, my little cub ran past the meat and then the music kept playing and it stayed on that screen. It's a really cool concept and really well implemented. This game is good at making you feel without railroading. That's really hard to do. Well done!

Maintenance by bereg 2020-04-21T13:45:23Z

@bereg It's not all hate, it's just against the rules to post this in the compo. As a game though it was quite nice, I'm not a huge fan of games where your decisions don't do anything. The mood was really good and it did make me feel.

Moonhill Farm by Murrzipan 2020-04-20T13:32:22Z

Thanks for the feedback! I agree, I tested it with shorter nights cause it was half an hour before the deadline and realised they were way too long this morning. Thanks for the feedback! :)

Moonhill Farm by Murrzipan 2020-04-20T14:15:45Z

Thanks for the feedback, you make a lot of good points. The foxes have 1-3 hit points, but I should have made it a bit more obvious

Moonhill Farm by Murrzipan 2020-04-20T16:06:04Z

@Anonymous I would have liked to put some bg music in but my DAW isn't working rn, I'll add music if I do a special edition post-LD

Moonhill Farm by Murrzipan 2020-04-21T16:48:07Z

@henriquecanella I felt that might be, thanks for confirming! :)

Moonhill Farm by Murrzipan 2020-04-23T09:26:18Z

@jimbly fair criticism. normally at least one skeleton spawns on night one but it is random so I probably should have forced it. I'll add some treats to save up for, cause right now the goal is just to get to night 30 with as much money as you can, but I think your right that gameplay incentives would be more enjoyable

Moonhill Farm by Murrzipan 2020-05-10T20:33:42Z

Thanks Jupiter! I've been watching your series, I was really thrilled to see you play mine at the start! It helped show me what things I could have implemented better. :)
