Amazing graphics, nice job! The gameplay is really relaxing.

wasd 2020-04-21 11:39

@bauke-regnerus Thank you. Thats what i wanted to archive.

ryzy27 2020-04-21 13:23

Truly magical.

Beautiful and relaxing. Just what I needed after 3 days jamming :)

Thank you for this game.

Stay safe!

wasd 2020-04-21 14:09

@ryzy27 Very nice. You did it  I was curious if someone would actually do that. Love to hear that you enjoyed it. Stay safe buddy.

gamesogre 2020-04-21 14:48

After a stressful weekend and some now very puffy ankles, this was a fabulous rendezvous with relaxation. The experience is truly something magical. <3

the-martijn 2020-04-21 14:48

Very relaxing game! Fun to play and nice graphics! Only thing that made it a 5/5 is changing the font and UI, but the game itself is very fun!

neowhoru 2020-04-21 14:49

It was a really magic experience - so relaxing but motivating to reach more skill points. Good job mate.

turritom 2020-04-21 14:56

i love this game its so realaxing! its so simple but it works very good. congratulation for this idea and game.

mysteriousbaboon 2020-04-21 15:04

Thank you so much for this game, it was really amazing, and it personally inspired me so much ! Realy Relaxing

elendow 2020-04-21 15:05

kiwii 2020-04-21 15:13

I'm sorry but I think I'm missing something. I can move and use magic, but it only shows particles, no plants are growing. I tried to keep the spacebar pressed for a few seconds, but nothing happened.

Is there anything else to do? Also, I'm running Linux if that helps…

zeggamer 2020-04-21 15:14

For what was there, this was wonderfully sweet. Love the unique take on the theme. Absolutly wonderful. It took a little while for the fun stuff to grow, but that is probably just how this game is meant to be played.

wasd 2020-04-21 15:20

@kiwii unfortunatly i cant test the linux build on a linux machine. Maybe move around a bit and try angain using spacebar while moving if you are still interested.

wasd 2020-04-21 15:21

@zeggamer thank yor. i love to hear that

garymarance 2020-04-21 15:22

Wanna see a wizard garden hum ? This was so addictive, I got to 3600 twice and wanted more. Too bad the interface isn't finished, it breaks the immersion a bit but this is a pretty amazing job for one person. The difference of pixel size for the wizard isn't a problem at all, the spell effects and particles really brings it together. Well done !

wasd 2020-04-21 15:25

@the-martijn yeah thats true. better ui and font would have been a super good addition. I ran out of time sadly. Thank you for your feedback!

wasd 2020-04-21 15:26

@garymarance Yeah a nicer interface would have completed the immersion. I ran out of time sadly. Thank you for your feedback.

remus-rain 2020-04-21 16:16

What a beatiful game! Perfect score from me. Sometimes there is no need for a challenge.

scharma 2020-04-21 16:18

Was I astounished when I saw this was a convo game. Really well done, nice graphics and effects, moody ambience and music, fun a calming gameplay. I really wish it was more laggy, and that the whole skill tree was avaiable from the start, so I could plan out my build haha. Really well done, congrats.

scharma 2020-04-21 16:19

@scharma oops, meant less laggy. Kept playing well after it ended anyways.

humphreysmedia 2020-04-21 16:21

Visually breathtaking game and love the fact the whole art style was constant, the only thing I would change visually is the font as I feel like it doesn't match the aesthetics of the rest of the game. Such a positive feeling playing this game and half of the fun was just standing still and holding down space to see what happens, the addition of the occasional squirrel definitely helped to maintain an alive forest, can't wait to see this be endless, despite the lovely screen at the end. Maybe add another background song as well as I found myself playing this game for a while and I noticed the same beats repeating and could potentially become repetitive. Well done, awesome job!

Screenshot (75).png

wasd 2020-04-21 16:24

@humphreysmedia Just press the X Button on that End Screen and you can continue to play ;) Thank you for your feed back.

wasd 2020-04-21 16:26

@scharma I was expecting it to be a bit laggy on slower machines. Sadly i wasnt able to further improve the performance of the effect. Thank you for playing and your feedback!

murrzipan 2020-04-21 16:29

I really liked that ending screen, I was playing for a while and while I really enojoyed the tone and pace, I was starting to wonder where it was going, I'll probably pick this up again at some point. thanks for making such a lovely game :)

dogman789 2020-04-21 16:31

I love the graphics and lighting, they make the game so enjoyable!

jf-composer 2020-04-21 17:00

Fresh, peaceful and can become addictive! I really liked it! Nice job on deciding to create your own sfx and music! (I just noticed a little thing, at the bottom of the end message you have a "is" instead of "if", a detail but still^^). GG!

crisfalcon 2020-04-21 17:09

Lovely game! The music and the sound design was excellent creating an absolutely relaxing and peaceful atmosphere. I would love to see a powerup in the future that keeps some of the dirt tiles as normal basic grass tiles!

azo 2020-04-21 17:10

Very satisfying, relaxing game. Loved all of it, very fun to play :)

stuembi 2020-04-21 20:33

super calming game. loved the pixel perfect art and pacing of the game. well rounded entry!

kp-cftsz 2020-04-21 20:34

The light effects are very pretty, you did a good job at getting the relaxing vibe down

han-cholito 2020-04-21 20:35

I'M RELAXED NOW!

this peaceful and wimsical game of creation brought some peace inside my troubled soul. that was enjoyable. thanks

collin-thompson 2020-04-21 20:41

Simply beautiful, truly great and one of my favorites of the jam. I hope this one does really well and Excellently great job! Very calming and relaxing! Excellent job!

casual-dutchman 2020-04-21 20:43

It is such a relaxing game. Just played it and finished it to 100%. Love it. Kind of reminded me of equilinox

relictooth 2020-04-21 20:43

Very beautiful, relaxing game. I very much enjoyed my time playing this, the sense of discovery and progression was definitely felt. One of my favorites so far for sure, excellent job!

sokette 2020-04-21 20:47

Happy little forest ! :D

I loved it and I only have ONE remark. There is no drawback to pushing the spacebar all the time, so why make it a choice for the player ? My thumb felt a little sore at the end, but I had a beautiful forest, so who cares ? :D

sokette 2020-04-21 20:48

@kiwii I ran it on linux (Ubuntu 18.04) without any trouble ! Maybe you didn't find any plant to grow ? Also, you have to stay close to the growing plant when you find one :)

conor-galvin 2020-04-21 21:19

Such a cute game! The art and atmosphere is extremely ethereal and makes you feel really relaxed as you move from spot to spot creating pretty flowers and trees. If I could offer one piece of critical feedback, I feel like some of the UI and the information provided to the user could be more refined, but nonetheless, you did a great job!

merpui 2020-04-21 21:21

A beautiful and relaxing game, perfect to play after a long and stressful day. Well done! :)

iferit 2020-04-21 21:36

This was so peaceful and wholesome, I really needed this after a long day. You really made my day :) Thank you for sharing such an awesome relaxing idea!

nabo369 2020-04-21 21:47

Absolutely lovely little game, I have a weakness for games with magic and games with growing plants so a game which has both is an instant like from me. Even though the game said I finished it I went on to completely fill in each and every tile with plants just because it looks so pretty and was really calming to do. So in my opinion it is a massive succes and I am glad to have been able to have played it

zzox 2020-04-22 05:02

I hope it was almost as relaxing making it as it was for me playing it :) Some pixel fonts would look great with this. Would like to see more of these relaxing games at these game jams!

splitpainter 2020-04-22 06:15

What a nice, contemplative and chill experience. I always prefer non gameplay intensive games, such as narrative games and games like this one, where there is just... contemplation. Kudos for adding eye candy.

lapisraider 2020-04-22 06:33

The visuals are amazing! And I really love the added interactivity where the tree shakes or particle effects appear on the grass and flowers whenever I walk through them! The audio matches the game really well too! Although, maybe you can try clamping the camera when the player reaches the edge of the map so they won't have to see the blue background.

Besides that, this is a really cool and relaxing game! It was something magical indeed XD

jsec 2020-04-22 06:33

Amazing games really, love style, pixels are superb! And the mood shoots thru the roof! Great job!

jack-kaloger 2020-04-22 06:47

Delightful! :seedling: After playing so many games about _surviving_ it was fantastic to play something that takes its time. I really enjoyed building my little forest - absolutely magical!

scubes-3-14 2020-04-22 07:36

I really like the art style and the relaxing atmosphere of this game.

reiqy 2020-04-22 07:55

Wow! Magical game. Maybe the game of LD46 that I spent most time on. I covered every single space of the tilemap. It reminds me of Equilinox which is a good thing. Very calming, great relaxation. Sadly, the game gets quite laggy when there is so much particle effects going on, or maybe that's something else causing it. But when you have a lot of plants around the fps go down. Work on that, add maybe a bit of resource management and you have a perfect relaxation game!

lunarstrain 2020-04-22 08:23

I like the concept of making entertainment non-violent and still enjoyable. Good base for the further development. One thing that kinda irritated me is the fact that I need to hold the spacebar O:

misterkeefe 2020-04-22 10:02

Thanks so much for the detailed description of your dev process, it's really useful to read about how other people tackled creating their game. Fantastic entry, great job!

santriptasharma 2020-04-22 10:43

This experience really was something magical!

mrstari 2020-04-22 10:51

This is really relaxing! Thank you so much for this! I love it  and keep it

dq-201 2020-04-22 10:53

3600😆

kamilko 2020-04-22 11:34

I love it :) I want this power in real life ;) The minor issue I found with skills progression layer, as cant hide it sometimes on mac. But even with open, I can still make the world undead! ...ehm thats sounds awkward... ;)

maksd777 2020-04-22 13:36

i like it kind of game

ladycerberus 2020-04-22 15:43

Cool art and so relaxing to play

synystercola 2020-04-22 15:45

Relaxing indeed. I really like the art style here. Well done!

prof-suarez 2020-04-22 15:50

I like the concept. it was a bit laggy for me, and I didn't understand the purpose of pressing space. It should just glow automatically. Would like to see a version for mobile devices.

kappa-b 2020-04-22 15:57

Amazing ambience, Love the art and music, very calming perfect for after jam playing and distressing. Unfortunate I did find an issued with a UI that made it almost unplayable. I suspect the Ui build for a 16:9 monitor unfortunately I played it in a 16:10, therefore the shop close button was visually mostly under the Plantcount and the hit box was significantly shifted I was forced to click fro a few minutes in the surrounded area to find the hitbox. But everything else worked perfectly. Well done bud you made a really good jam entry. Screen Shot 2020-04-22 at 11.58.36 AM.png

draelent 2020-04-22 16:02

I don't know why I went for the 3600 score but you feel peaceful and relaxed to not kill things in a game for once, that you kinda want to continue... Great feeling, artwork and gameplay

sleepystudios 2020-04-22 16:02

Super chill game. Went and eventually completed all the map. Really nice use of bloom and subtle effects to make the game even more polished. Nice work.

sir-needleworth 2020-04-22 16:02

A very relaxing and calming experience that you gave with your game. Really, thank you I'd love to see a develop version on mobile, maybe with more plants animations, or why not a backstory :)

Well done

hbocao 2020-04-22 17:48

Well, it's just beautiful! Awesome graphics. For a long time I was wishing for more of a hurdle or goal or something, but when I reached the end I realised that I got exactly what I needed. I have a really old crappy machine so I was struggling with performance. One point for improvement would be the UI. Really god job overall. Keep rocking!

natalie-sodomkova 2020-04-22 17:56

beautiful!

teto 2020-04-23 00:12

A really beautiful game and so nice and relaxing! Was stuck on 3599 plants revived for so long but just had to get it to 3600! Really nicely polished and the graphics are simple but captivating. The music didn't get too repetitive either and there's a lot of potential for expansion as well. Incredible game! Well done!

microchasm 2020-04-23 05:57

One of my favorite games so far. Graphics and feel are very nice. It's a bit like an incremental game, seeing the numbers increase. I would have liked to have more choice with upgrades, like maybe you have to sacrifice one upgrade path for another... but on the other hand I had a good time just making plants in a low-stakes experience. I went for the 3600 plants. In the release version maybe there could be some force trying to destroy the forest, and it would bring the game more in line with the jam's theme. But in the end I'm nitpicking a game I really enjoyed.

malai 2020-04-23 07:56

Simple, but very relaxing. Also a lot of details! took me a while to notice the little squirells in the tree, love them!

axkarth 2020-04-23 13:50

I played it on Linux. I really liked your game, and I am surprised that it is quite similar to [ours](https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/46/light-carrier), the loneliness, moodiness, it also has a small map, has to do with plants, similar colors and light particles.

ursagames 2020-04-24 06:52

lexyvil 2020-04-24 08:25

Very addicting game! Glad you let us keep playing even after finishing it with unlimited upgrades. Just wish there was more ground to transform/reset the playground to play around with unlimited skills~

nimphious 2020-04-25 10:31

Lovely idea and fantastic execution.

I feared I might get stuck between trees a handful of times but luckily that didn't happen.

I didn't think I'd get all 3600 plants but I found it very cathartic to just stroll around and fill in all the missing spaces until there were none left.

oldmanwinters 2020-04-26 06:38

Cute little game, nice and relaxing to play. The music got repetitive after a while but obviously with a compo jam that's always going to be an issue. Really well done, congrats :)

haoro 2020-04-27 01:11

Amazing game ! It's actually 3 AM here, and I couldn't play a more relaxing game before going to sleep ! I really wish you can continue the development so I can play longer and share with my friends !

thecritterscove 2020-04-28 15:36

Very appropriately titled game. The graphics, animations, and music all give it a chill magical mood. The UI and font were a little out of place visually, but that might be the only significant flaw I can find with this game. Everything else about it is such a lovely pleasant experience. I really hope you develop this game further. There's something about adding life to a world that's extremely satisfying.

owlkward 2020-04-29 23:37

Really nailed the peaceful magical forest aesthetic and I love it :D

skippuku 2020-04-30 03:47

Thanks for the linux port! This is a very pretty game. I enjoyed the art.

lazzydev72 2020-05-05 17:51

Nice Work. Love It. :heartbeat:

2020-05-05 23:46

Lovely game. I included it in my Ludum Dare 46 compilation video series, if you want to take a look. :) https://youtu.be/HbpVWKRHlfc
