We live in a society

Blood Pressure by superpokeunicorn 2019-04-30T15:15:57Z

I like this, fun and simple art style that doesn't take itself too seriously. Like Koni said I do feel like the theme could've been interpreted better but I think the gameplay makes up for that. The particles and colors mixing with eachother look really really nice

Untitled by khaoz-fang 2019-04-30T07:02:47Z

I can agree that the levels are kinda confusing. That said the art is giving me mad Celeste vibes, I love it

A Moment To Reflect by aeveis 2019-04-30T07:18:53Z

Short (by design I guess) but enjoyable, adorable art/music

Deathless World by Adrien Dittrick 2019-04-30T07:28:17Z

This is so evil I love it

Spirits of the Unknown by TheSomeoneXD 2019-04-30T06:07:09Z

I liked the game, the font (or at least the contrast on the text) made reading it slightly hard on the eyes but overall that part was negligible. I like the atmosphere, it's definitely short but you got your message across fine IMO. The animation is great

Shibbal the Pig by KP_CFTSZ 2019-04-30T07:06:19Z

@aret24 It requires Java 8, didn't wanna go with it for this jam but it's what my teammate was using. If you already have Java 8, do you have a stack trace/crash log we can analyze?

Shibbal the Pig by KP_CFTSZ 2019-04-30T17:53:28Z

@discocatphd Thank you for the feedback. Variable jump heights were definitely on the agenda but they were one of those finishing touches I couldn't get around to squeezing in before the deadline

Bloodletter by shp 2019-04-30T06:44:14Z

Definitely Quake-y, I like it

The Last Dragon by FlyingKiwi 2019-04-30T08:06:52Z

The art is amazing, could do without the slow speeds and ASMR audio

MoneyBag by Lexyvil 2019-04-30T07:51:47Z

I feel like the empty bag sprite daily and I don't know what to do about it

Jumpcoins by Shawn Moore 2019-04-30T08:15:07Z

I dunno if there's a name for this sticky platformer genre but I love it

Cashteroids by RumSquawks 2019-04-30T07:12:29Z

It's got character

Meter Maid DX by No Grapes Games 2019-04-30T06:58:56Z

Mimi is cute! CUTE!

bird food by kyavi 2019-05-01T22:03:37Z

I like the simple and effective art style, as others have mentioned the half-tile movement is kinda weird. The input felt slightly unresponsive at times (mainly because I'd want to rapidly turn the character around, usually to correct the half-tile movement) and it'd be nice if there was some kind of button to speed him up more but otherwise an enjoyable game

LD45 — Start with nothing

World Collector by Joe Williamson 2019-10-08T16:33:44Z

I only just now realized this is a *compo* game, very impressive work

Unlock Everything by DDRKirbyISQ 2019-10-09T08:26:30Z

This game is amazing, very solid work for 48 hrs! You should be proud. A friend of mine found a bug where after dying on spikes the game just went to black. This was on the WebGL build

Unnamed1 by khaoz-fang 2019-10-08T15:02:38Z

I had an easier time reading the MS paint text than I did the actual game font. It was fun but it def takes a while to figure out

The Daily by huskitch 2019-10-08T00:21:12Z

Game runs fine on my end, I like it.

Small Mouse, BIG SHOES! by UnitedFailures 2019-10-09T05:52:35Z

I fucking hate Stuart♂Little♂. I know what you’re thinking, this is some kind of funny joke, but no. Stuart Little is a piece of shit. A damn rat got picked over actual children at an orphanage and he’s supposed to be a hero? And I can’t even tell you how many damn times I’ve seen a great parking space only to turn the corner and realise Stuart Little is already parked there in his stupid little fucking convertible. He took my wife and the kids and my house and my job. I swear to fucking god, I’m going to kill myself and take that goddamn rodent to hell with me. Stuart Little has ruined my family. Last summer, I approached the miserable mouse in the street, and asked him for his autograph, because my son is a huge fan. The fucking rat gave me the autograph and told me to burn in hell. Later, when I gave my son the autograph he started crying and said he hated me. Turns out the mousefucker didnt write his autograph, no, he wrote “you’re a piece of shit, and i fucked your mom”. I’m now divorced, and planning a huge class-action lawsuit against the white devil that ruined my life. Your time is almost over, Stuart. All the people you’ve wronged will rise against you.

Beautiful game. Also shoutouts to Mowtendoo, you should credit him in the game desc

Gecko's Cabinet by JustMars 2019-10-08T15:25:22Z

Very nice. I'm curious what the reversed audio says tho

When Nothing Came by velvetlobster 2019-10-09T04:14:41Z

This game is great. It's possible to kinda speedrun it by just mashing left/right or mashing right while left is held, but otherwise I love it.

Welcome Home by KP_CFTSZ 2019-10-08T15:36:45Z

@danilo-freire if anybody with a more modern Mac than I have would like to help with porting I'd be happy to work something up, my old iMac just struggles trying to do anything these days. Not sure how a web build would go though. I can definitely get a Linux build soon at least

Welcome Home by KP_CFTSZ 2019-10-13T21:19:44Z

@jihem Yeah I knew going in I'd get comparisons to Crayon Physics, that's actually why the game didn't have any in the first place. Didn't wanna make a clone.

Welcome Home by KP_CFTSZ 2019-10-25T09:49:11Z

@darkwing00duck fixed!

Little Nothing Adventure by Siarhei Pilat 2019-10-08T14:55:12Z

rotating the camera felt kinda jank but aside from that it's a neat lil entry

Definitely got that classic flash aesthetic down. The Naruto runners aren't that fast for sure

You're Just Babie by rocketandonuts 2019-10-08T00:13:24Z

This game, while difficult, is very adorable. I wish the movement were quicker tho

Slow and Steady by palinalif 2019-10-08T17:27:15Z

Cute wholesome game

Nice game. The music is really really good.

Something Magical by wasd 2020-04-21T20:34:13Z

The light effects are very pretty, you did a good job at getting the relaxing vibe down

Super Rally by Fengol 2020-04-21T20:40:50Z

The really slow acceleration (almost felt like it was strong input lag at first) isn't very appealing but the concept is good. Felt like the game was 30fps the whole time but apart from that it was fun

Lich Clicker by Fictions 2020-04-21T21:50:18Z

Anon above seems a little upset. This is LD lol, nobody cares about what's "on the market" when they make these games, it's just about having fun and making something in a short amount of time. Yeah clicker games are mechanically simple, the art carries the experience, etc. but honestly that isn't a problem specific to this game; that's how the entire AAA industry works. Food for thought.

For the author: Sure I feel like I'm getting an RSI now but for an LD game it was pretty neat, the art looked great and as mentioned the gameplay is pretty lackluster and standard for a clicker game, but I still had fun.

Pandamonium by KP_CFTSZ 2020-04-21T22:09:34Z

@pjnovas Not a post-compo, like I said in the post I intend to make one later though so I can add sfx. Glad you liked it! I can agree the input scheme is kinda wonky

Keep it burning! by Kevin Meissner 2020-04-21T21:52:30Z

Any chance for other OS builds soon? Looks really interesting but I'm unable to play it

LD48 — Deeper and deeper

Teh Man and the Sea by Plepletier 2021-04-28T16:00:14Z

Art fit perfectly (maybe could improve consistency between scaling of sprites, as well as the font not matching the scale of the game... they were also kinda blurry), music was great, and the gameplay was fun. Control scheme could've definitely been better but after figuring it out it was fun

The Pit by ehtd 2021-04-27T05:24:05Z

Art looked great, I do wish there was a way to get a higher mouse sensitivity though

Wink! by KP_CFTSZ 2021-04-27T12:57:06Z

@toasteater that ain't good! The game requires the `HOMEDRIVE` and `HOMEPATH` envvars to be set properly before running (e.g. "C:" and "\Users\YourName"), if those are messed up for whatever reason that might explain why it isn't working

One thing you can try (haven't thoroughly tested this): Make a batch file in the same folder as the LD48.exe, then open Notepad and write out something like:

`cmd /c "SET HOMEPATH=/Users/KP&SET HOMEDRIVE=C:&LD48.exe"`

Save and run it and hopefully it'll work if you set them properly. Both envvars have to be set.

(replacing my paths with whatever works for you ofc)

Wink! by KP_CFTSZ 2021-04-29T19:29:46Z

@lalaki7 Son of a bitch lol, well this application's "support team" has no clue what's going on

Wink! by KP_CFTSZ 2021-04-29T21:15:27Z

@one-seed-fruit I can make a Linux build whenever I'm home from work if you'd like, in theory it should work w/o any issues.

@lalaki7 Apologies :slight_frown:

Wink! by KP_CFTSZ 2021-04-30T04:31:15Z

@one-seed-fruit Here's a Linux build you can try: https://kpworld.xyz/files/wink.tar.gz

Wink! by KP_CFTSZ 2021-04-30T17:58:21Z

@schwammelie You can stop the walker! In the game there is an anti-virus called MalwareSpy 2003. Using MalwareSpy (along with lots of button mashing) you can "patch" the walker. You can also set wallpapers by double clicking on image files you encounter in the file explorer.

@jryzkns Thank you!

Wink! by KP_CFTSZ 2021-05-01T07:08:07Z

@jryzkns Thank you so much for taking the time to troubleshoot the game yourself, I'm glad you enjoyed it

> I found that having folders in the HOMEPATH that do not have basic ascii characters also seem to either not let the game run at all, or show an empty filesystem

Ah yeah, I was worried that might be an issue. Despite being the main mechanic of the game, the filesystem part was something I got kinda lazy with, so in order to keep it simple and cross-platform the whole thing revolves around C++17's `std::filesystem::directory_iterator`, which is probably throwing a fit because I didn't use `u8path` or something...

> I can almost smell the musty AC smell from my childhood home seeing this interface

Awesome, that's exactly what I was going for. My good friend [@TheChaseExp](https://twitter.com/TheChaseExp) did the UI artwork for this game, taking a lot of inspiration from '90s Windows as well as the many UIs it influenced, e.g. the [SerenityOS](http://serenityos.org/) desktop.

> It felt unnatural when my back/forward [mouse] buttons doesn't work in the game

That kinda caught me off guard too during playtesting. Might be something for me to fix if I make a post-jam version.

Thanks for playing!

The Long Loneliness by Stroe Andrew 2021-04-27T04:29:27Z

This game is very pretty, the atmosphere and mood is on point, but I'm not really seeing the tie in with the theme that much. The presentation is great but the short gameplay kinda caught me by surprise. I still liked the game though

Foldception by Thulium Games 2021-04-27T03:56:08Z

Neat game, there is a little bug near the end

6 Feet Under by theStoff 2021-04-28T15:00:27Z

Adorable artwork and super fun physics. Like lots of games this LD I'd love to see a full version. Like the other comments have said it is kinda difficult but still the idea is there and it's good

Redeeppedeer by toasteater 2021-04-27T05:36:21Z

Cool to see somebody else made a game in this style! Agree w/ everything @yulotomorrow mentioned. A post-jam continuation would be cool

I Would Like To Check Out of This Hotel by poboy 2021-04-29T14:52:03Z

Fun game! Art fit the vibe perfectly

TAILSPIN! by Saturnyoshi 2021-04-28T14:37:57Z

Can't put into words how good this is for an LD game. I'd pay to play a full version of this. It gives off the same energy as Celeste, one of my favorite indie games ever. Awesome stuff! Would love some more insight on how this was put together and how the team was able to be so well coordinated to make this in such a timely manner

Selkö by Doot 2021-04-28T16:08:14Z

Very relaxing game! I kept it open for a while just to keep the music going

Into the Deep Web by Jon Topielski 2021-04-28T15:04:56Z

Another computer game! Dice mechanic is very interesting. Like Saerki mentioned sound would've been great

Hecode by pedrocoden 2021-04-27T04:41:27Z

Estou surpreso de ver pessoas usando o motor de jogo do Blender no ano de 2021. O jogo estava bom, mas acho que a interpretação do tema poderia ter sido mais criativa.

I'm surprised to see people using the Blender game engine in the year 2021. The game was alright but I feel like the interpretation of the theme could've been more creative.

Jeg er overrasket over Ä se folk som bruker Blender-spillmotoren i Är 2021. Spillet var i orden, men jeg fÞler at tolkningen av temaet kunne vÊrt mer kreativ.

Mandelbrot Hunt by ksadov 2021-04-28T16:40:25Z

I think it fits the theme. The idea is cool, I do think there's some room for exploration in building interesting game mechanics around fractals, but this didn't feel like much of a game (key word: *feel*; I don't think the concept is bad at all, but the presentation could be more game-y)

A couple suggestions if you wanna expand upon this sometime: - Scroll up/down feel inverted compared to normal programs which involve panning/zooming into things - It'd be nice if the zoom would use the mouse cursor position as an origin, i.e. zooming into the cursor - Panning/zooming could have some kind of sense of friction/animation. Google Maps, Leaflet and lots of other GIS-related programs tend to do this

You have to incentivize the player to keep looking, and to do that I think there should be some kind of reward for the player when they find the target.

This is a nice idea though! Interesting entry

Deep Dive by mharitsnf 2021-04-27T06:03:55Z

Cool game, took me a moment to figure out dropping/throwing but after it clicked I enjoyed it

The Naked Truth by LALAKI7 2021-04-29T14:56:32Z

Game doesn't appear to start for me. I installed the redists, didn't get any kind of debug output running it via command line either. Win10 v1809 build 17763.1879

Game looks interesting though!

Memare by jogo 2021-04-28T15:25:17Z

Sound effects fit perfectly. You should include some screenshots on your entry page if you want more people to see this, because the game is good!

Memare by jogo 2021-04-28T16:43:04Z

@jogo I think you just need to go into the game editor and hit "upload image" and it should embed on the page. Worst case you can probably just put in a direct link to the image somewhere on the game page using Markdown's image syntax

IHM: Race to the Bottom by T90. 2021-04-27T18:21:48Z

I thought it was alright. Took me a bit to figure out what I was actually supposed to be doing but then it clicked. The depression/addiction/self-loathing commentary aside I think the gameplay could've been better, the art was cute though.

Potato Pandemonium by SugarSugarSugar 2021-04-28T15:50:24Z

Control scheme is funky, physics could feel a little bit better (sticking to the top of ceilings particularly caught me off guard). The movement confusion could be solved I think by showing the little images with the inputs and how you move around *in the map* instead of dropping it all on one screen at the start of the game, but I understand with time constraints that'd take more work to put in. Also animating the player a bit more would make the movement feel less jerky I think.

Not bad at all for a first jam entry though! I had fun
