LD40 — The more you have, the worse it is

Komainu by pi mont 2017-12-07T06:08:46Z

The art was pretty polished, but I did see a ton of grid lines everywhere. I've had that issue before with Unity though. Fixed it with just using Tiled2Unity.

I also have a hatred for spam clicking, but other than that, it was really cool! There really needed to be some feedback after killing all the enemies, as I was slightly confused on what to do next. Like some other said before, that shining shuriken seemed important but didn't do anything.

I happened to figure out the controls with ease, as I've played these things before.

**For reference for people reading:** WASD - Move Left Click - Shoot

Cardhoard by HacksawUnit 2017-12-04T23:51:43Z

I love the game, pixel art, sounds, and gameplay feel solid. My major grip is the controls. They are really awkward.

Couldn't you get the job done by doing WASD/Arrow keys, like most games?

Other than that, the collision I sorta hate, just would make it have some leeway, and pushes you to the edge if you are just barely touching it. Love it though!

LD42 — Running out of space

All Ahoard by Matt Fabius 2018-08-14T05:20:18Z

Interesting game! It's a pretty unique concept as far as I'm aware. I did find it weird on how it measures putting the blocks in the space, and whether or not I have enough. I definitely missed a good chuck but managed to pass and win the game. Cute art style too!

Pursuit of Freedom by Lino 2018-08-14T06:00:46Z

Interesting concept! The issues for me though were that I cot really dizzy when playing this game. It's sorta hard to judge if I'm going to make it through or not too. The soundtrack's pretty nice, and I loved the intro cutscene.

WWTD ( World Worst Tower Defence ) by jackw899 2018-08-14T15:32:21Z

This was a pretty neat game! Like @jackw899 said, more money would've been nice, as I couldn't go with a round without taking damage early on. Clicking out of the upgrade menu would be appreciated, instead of using Esc. Cool game!

Space Goats 2 by Tim Ruswick 2018-08-14T01:42:00Z

After trying to eat things and poop cupcakes out, and failing for a while, I realized that "E" did something. After a few more tries, I literally dashed my way to victory, especially after bypassing that cluster of vikings. So gameplay needs some work on, although it's a pretty good base to polish more. I really like the audio, from the music, voice-overs, and sounds effects. The humor easily came along with it with it's stupid but hilarious themes. One more thing though;

SPAAAACCCEEEEE GOOOOAAATTTSSSSS!!

Emissary by Handle 2018-08-14T02:56:59Z

This game really felt good, definitely a nice arcade game. With a gamepad, it was really easy and intuitive to pick up. I didn't know what I was doing first, but it was really fun once I got the hang of it! Good job!

Overflow by antoined73 2018-08-14T02:40:31Z

Really nice game, super atmospheric. I think I found a bug at the last level where I think I made the last guy I saved on the raft fall back into the water. I got the win sound, but when that person fell into the water, I couldn't pick that person up again and lost. The graphics look amazing, and the sounds are great. The mood is a solid 5 in my book. Good job!

Misadventures of Crowley Flatcheeks by detectiveLosos 2018-08-14T02:04:16Z

This game was really calming, yet urgent. I sort of ended up running away from the fishing rod, but after I got that, it was really nice. You get the calm from the walking around to your destination, mindless while looking at the weird, round planet. You also get the urgency because you know the planet's falling apart and everyone's leaving, and you know you need to go to. The graphics look awesome, and I wish I knew how to do that. I love this 3D retro style.

Construction Pit by TheSomeoneXD 2018-08-14T02:46:10Z

Thanks for the feedback! It means a lot to me.

@drums I'll probably raise the speed for the character in a post-jam build.

@neverdusk Maybe Bill was just cooler because he can use a flamethrower, and the dude on the right is jealous. Who knows?

@micahtron Also, yes! I wrote all the music myself in FamiTracker, an NES music maker of sorts. I'm learning music theory right now too. Glad it worked out. Also, thanks for the cut-scene complement! It was my first time doing it, and I'm surprised the system didn't break entirely when making it.

Construction Pit by TheSomeoneXD 2018-08-14T05:23:08Z

@nam-nguyen Sorry you didn't like the control scheme much. I did have a few alternatives that I didn't advertise that much though. You could do WASD and Spacebar for movement instead, and use the mouse to use the flamethrower, hopefully that helps!

Construction Pit by TheSomeoneXD 2018-08-14T23:36:13Z

Thanks for the feedback everyone, especially the gameplay, graphics, music, and humor! Basically everything lol

Yeah, the crystals are just a collectable without too much point except something to go for if you want, like Celeste's strawberries. Although I definitely didn't have a strong execution.

I also know the bug where you float up under a block! Wish I knew how to fix it, but if I know, that's definitely a priority on a post-jam version.

Construction Pit by TheSomeoneXD 2018-08-15T17:40:55Z

Thanks for playing, everyone!

@annie-owl I was wondering how'd I'd end the game when you get to the top, and I was thinking that there could be a bridge that fell. I figured that the bridge could be built by some dude, and you get your revenge when you reach the top!

@dragongino Glad you thought it was fun! The gems again really don't do much, sadly. I hope I can add some functionality though. Power-ups sound like a good idea right now, actually.

@ryanjavanshir Good eye with the sparks from the crates! It was the first time I actually really did anything interesting with animation with pixel art. In fact, this was my first time doing pixel art for any completed game. Glad you also enjoyed the music! Really happy how that worked out in the short amount of time I had.

@aterlamia I'm thinking that I could have some "smart" spawner where it detects the position of the player, then builds on that. And I don't think I want to add more sound, it's loud enough as it was as you said! :joy: I'll definitely do some mixing next time.

@iballs Damn right it is

Construction Pit by TheSomeoneXD 2018-08-15T19:55:25Z

@outstar Got it, thanks for your feedback! I'll try doing maybe 3 or 4 pixels and see how that goes. Thanks for reviewing it on-stream!

And screw that guy on the other side yep :joy:

A Tale of Fish by dalton5000 2018-08-15T18:44:51Z

Nice game, however this game has a huge problem though. Despite the jokes in the game, the TITLE of the game isn't "A TAIL OF FISH!!" MADNESS.

Really cute and relaxing game!

Unfamiliar by Kovakomes 2018-08-15T02:11:26Z

This was a really heartfelt visual novel. Everyone on the team did a really awesome job, it was a really cool experience.

Ramboom by Holy 2018-08-15T00:31:45Z

I got immediately crushed when I started the game, then I got the bow! It was pretty fun after that, nice game!

OverEncumbered by darklab 2018-08-14T04:46:41Z

Very solid and fun game! Couldn't beat it, but it was definitely fun collecting stuff and shooting. I didn't catch on that you had to have the items in your inventory, then wait for the thing to end in order to earn cash.

OUT by joompoof 2018-08-14T01:13:25Z

Cool game! The Art and Mood was great. The thing that really bothered me was that sometimes my mid-dash wouldn't work randomly. I probably also died more times than I'm willing to admit by thinking I had a jump when I didn't jump off a platform, and jumped mid-air. Other than that, it was a really interesting experience.

LD43 — Sacrifices must be made

HEALTH SHOT by TheSomeoneXD 2018-12-06T02:12:27Z

@caeonosphere @coleslaughter Thanks a lot for your feedback! Especially really happy you two like the look of my game. Oh wait a second, people like how the game looks from my... PIXEL ART?? Wait... I'm dreaming, aren't I.

Again, thanks!

Our first game, Hatty & Tom. by emeffe 2018-12-06T00:53:48Z

Voxel art is beautiful. Good job!

LD44 — Your life is currency

Blood Money by Dom Harris 2019-04-30T23:24:54Z

This game has a ton of personality! Enjoyed flaming all the skeletons, and pew-ing them to death. Sometimes it's annoying to find skeletons to kill though, and the shop didn't seem to do much for me. Overall, the game needed more skeleton dances. Super neat game!

CurANTcy by HacksawUnit 2019-05-01T02:53:51Z

Overall feel and audio design is awesome. No complaints here really! I can make it half-way pretty consistently, but man I couldn't unlock the bonus.

SACRIFIGHTS by Lumpy 2019-05-01T02:29:36Z

This game was absolutely brilliant, had a lot of fun with it! I got CREAMED on my first play-through due to running out of items to use, but after that, I understood the game a little more better. Then somehow the game got quite a bit more easier in places, while still being fun and challenging in others. There's so much playtime in this game too!

It could still be balanced quite a bit but I had a lot of fun with it! Great work by the team.

PS. I hated the spider, until I could cream it.

SACRIFIGHTS by Lumpy 2019-05-01T02:55:52Z

@lumpy IT FELT SO GOOD TO BEAT THE LIVING DAYLIGHT OUTTA THAT SPIDER. As for the clown spider, nope. The most common enemy I got was mostly the robot(s). Might just boot up the game to see the clown spider lol

EDIT: I got creamed by the spider twice again  lol

Spirits of the Unknown by TheSomeoneXD 2019-04-30T05:19:08Z

I FEEL DUMB AAAAAAAAAAA Anyways it should be fixed SORRY EVERYONE

@snowinn @liauj @vulpineblazeyt @squirmonkey @allan-urique @jedineeson @caizep have mercy on me please

Spirits of the Unknown by TheSomeoneXD 2019-04-30T05:46:59Z

@adam-elaoud I loved Celeste! I watched a really talented speedrunner, and then I decided to bite the bullet and buy the game. I have no regrets.

@jedineeson Will do! Will play tomorrow, it's a little past midnight, whoops. Also, hello fellow Canadian!

Spirits of the Unknown by TheSomeoneXD 2019-04-30T15:06:42Z

Holy crap, 21(.1429) reviews as of writing, woah! I'm super happy I got here this quick, and it's all thanks to everyone here!

You guys have no idea how happy I am to get this much great feedback for a game that I put a lot of emotional investment into. I love reading each and everyone of your comments.

Cloudwalker by JLV 2019-04-30T23:09:27Z

Interesting you went with a Google Cardboard game! Had an interesting time though on WebGL, since I didn't have a headset handy. Also enjoyed the story too.

Temerarious by SynysterCola 2019-04-30T03:41:31Z

Neat RPGmaker game! Got lost in the cave so I gave up, but there's so much charm in it. Loving the story and the NPCs in the village.

Tetris: Tempo by Valid 2019-05-01T00:46:20Z

Made it 3rd place! The piece buying I don't think is too useful, but I think it could be somewhat fixed by it immediately switching your piece. I personally am not too fond of Classic Tetris so this wasn't the best experience for me, but it was still pretty fun!

Les Pattes (The Legs) by JediNeeson 2019-04-30T22:43:15Z

Seems like a cool game! Mechanics look fun to play, except that I don't have four controllers to test it with, nor friends :stuck_out_tongue:
