I saw that you have created a VR game.
Do you know if it works on the Oculus Go or Vive?
Thanks for sharing your creation!
Foon → Ludum Dare Explorer → LD44 → Cloudwalker

@saoi-games Thank you for your interest ! The game was made with **mobile** VR in mind (should have been more accurate in the description).
To share it with as many people as possible, I focused on making a first-person traditional game, and then made the Android build available on my itch page (Cardboard and equivalent only).
This was interesting. A really clever take on the theme even though it was a little bit confusing how everything worked. Well done!
Fantastic experience! i think there is so much to explore with VR story games. Well done!
Interesting you went with a Google Cardboard game! Had an interesting time though on WebGL, since I didn't have a headset handy. Also enjoyed the story too.
I was a bit uncertain about playing this with a mouse, but I am glad I sticked to the end. Nice job.
I like the art and mood that you create in this game! I know that's sounds ambitious for the deadline, but a narration instead of text, would be a huge increment in the game mood! Nice job!
I found the end result somewhat crude and clunky, but I like the fact that you actually went ahead and tried to make a VR-game.
I tested the Android-version on Honor8 utilizing a cheap VR-kit I got from a second-hand shop sometime ago. As I'm quite new to any kind of VR-technology, playing it was an interesting experience for me.
Keep it going, man!
Big plus for being able to work on VR, though I used a desktop to play. This was a curious and quite original take on the theme. Music isn't super exciting, but I think that works very well for the mood and the "end reveal", so it's kind of foreshadowing I guess. Simple gameplay, can be a bit hard to "observe" the aircraft, so the challenge lies in catching and holding it in your sight long enough. Very neat experiment that seems to have lots of potential. 4.0 overall!
hmm I thought the game was a bit slow, good work on the music / ambience though :)
Sound was very atmospheric! (Really, no pun intended!)
I don't have cardboard, so I guess I will have to stick with desktop  Nice mood! I just didn't understand how the energy was being drained from the boots, is it just time? Or missing an enemy? Does spotting enemies actually matter? Great job overall!
That was so much fun to play. i was a little too lazy to pull out vr for it, but wish i would have in hindsight. quick aside, i really do appreciate VR games in LDjam. the mood was awesome and the story was super interesting and held my attention throughout the game. I also loved the way the terrain looked and will be sure to watch that tutorial later!
Hahaha! This was so great and sad!
It was a bit difficult for me to target the enemies. I'm on a PC, so maybe with VR it would have been better, idk.. Also, why do you have to stare them down for so long? It felt like shooter mechanics without the shooting.
Summary: I enjoyed the story, but the gameplay mechanics were unrewarding, and kind of felt unnecessary.
I played it with PC and it was easy to play. I guess they put us into research as mice and don't tell us that. Sad music and sad story. Great game!
the graphic was ok, however, story and sound are where this game shines so good job there. the code was clean did find any bugs or freezes. would love if the next button was within the commander's order screen so we don't have to turn to the side, and for reducing the stare time maybe make it so that the more u keep staring at something the faster it loads or something similar. overall you did a neat job been solo. gameplay wise tho I think it needs some improvement feedback or a reward system could be nice you get more fuel with the more target you find, a ground defence rocket destroy the target after you mark it. cool and sad ending tho <3 all the best
Oooh, that twist! I found it quite peaceful despite it being a war! I enjoyed this entry.
Really innovative take on a 'shooter', though on the Web version, I found the mouse controls and limited field of view to be a little disorienting while trying to search around all angles.
You did a really great job of establishing a somber mood, and you managed to tie the story in very well with the theme. Even the somewhat heavy-handed references to the theme at the ending felt appropriate given the mood of the story. Well done!
Ah, ze twist!
The gameplay is ultimately rather minimal (although to be fair I played with mouselook, and I know from first-hand experience that everything is way more fun in VR lol), but props to both the aesthetics and the story built around it. The terrain and clouds look cool, and the frame story set up around is rather interesting. Always a big fan of the "gotchas", and this one does it both the narrative as well as what kind of game it actually is.
Great atmosphere!
Fun graphics and nice atmospheric music. Took me a while to get oriented on mouse control but worked pretty well after that. Nice work!
