This is such a cool game.
This game was brilliant. It could have been longer, but who am I to talk. I only made 8 levels in my entry. I found my self laughing out loud. 5/5 overall.
Congrats on finishing. I saw your post where you had almost given up.
This game was so good I just had to put out the balance by rating it 5/5 in all aspects. Overall a well thought out well presented game with a good mood and a brilliant sense of humour. Well done!
rpmoura You run if you hold down space. Also I plan to Work on it some more and release a post jam version with more levels a tutorial and even a story.
Thanks for all the great comments everyone. I'm glad some of you enjoyed my first LD entry.
Wow this is great.
Haha I liked the ending.
A good game ,but if you press up and L/R at the same time as holding space it's quite easy to win. Otherwise the lack of info frustrated me.
Fun but difficult. A difficulty setting would have been nice.
This was pretty good. I spent about ten minuites erecting a lean to metropolis.
I find Reginald harder to slap with for some reason but overall a great experience and it was nice to watch you stream a bit(I was bourbonbrick in the chat). I love the graphics.
Aww sorry hunt. I have no Idea what could have happened. :(
Amazing feedback on this thanks everyone!
I would feel bad giving a game perfect fives. But this is not a game. its an experience. Overall 5 (if everything else is 5 that means overall is 5) Innovation 5 (You took a simple idea and polished it to a shine) Fun 5(It was fun discovering each new ending) Theme 5(you only get one bullet is alright but you made it a 5) Graphics 5(simple) Audio 5 (ticking and door banging made it a tense and intense experience) Humor (Humor is always the voting section that I find hard I usually vote for this in the thoughtfulness of the game instead of humor. This wasn't exactly humorous but very thoughtful)Mood 5 ( all of the above). Wooh I just had to justify my 5,5,5,5,5,5,5,5 score.
This is amazing.
Atmospheric!!!
Well I think this is the best story I've come across in the jam well done. Also I also kinda liked the graphics.
This is some of the best platforming I've seen in any game, let alone a LD entry. The puzzles were pretty basic but a nice distraction and to top it all off the art was amazing. If you did a full game I'd almost certainly buy it. Well done.
I like this. it could do with some local highscores. I liked the way things that hit your pipe hurt you that was very clever. But I must ask why there's a time limit if you are connected to the surface :P . Well done anyway.
Wow. My heart sunk every time I died.
I loved this game. it was just a bit harder at the start and easier towards the end. I love steve (As a character :P )
I'm seeing stars, Loads in the rating section :P
I like it. I didn't have anyone to play with so I kinda just used both controlls myself :)
Fun to launch out of the water. but hard to steer accurately. overall well done, the animations looked nice.
I like the wacky anesthetic of this. It reminds me of old brightly coloured platformers well done.
I like it even though I didn't quite understand the rules but it was definitely pretty and the weird audio was cool. It wasn't a complete flump so don't be down on yourselves(I was bourbonbrick on your stream earlier). I wish you look in you're future Ludum Dare endeavors. ~Boa
I found the gameplay to be just clickclikclick to try keep up. But there's a great atmosphere and the graphics are neat
well done ~ Boa
Fun but seemed awkward and just slightly lacking something. Music maybe?
This game is so fun and gooood.
Oh what happened Nnnnneeeedddd?
There's currently a bug in the uploaded version but will be fixed in a few minutes.
That is fixed.
Fun funny and pretty.
I like this. simple arcade style gameplay with nice graphics and nice sound. Good mood too.
Well that was... it was... Sommeething? Good? FUN!
Fun and pretty and funny I like it.
I like this game. It was really fun, Well done
I love the music and graphics. The player seemed to get caught on the ground sometimes, (something to do with the colliders maybe?) and once a checkpoint was on melted ice so when I re spawned it dropped me into the water.
Look's nice but no gameplay, and the controls were awkward.
I enjoyed this well done
Great mood. I really enjoyed the graphics but gameplay was awkward.
I really liked the screen shake effect. and the character. Well done
Great game and quite addictive too. If there were kind of boingy jelly sounds when you moved It would have added to my humour and audio ratings but other than that I really enjoyed it. Great innovation.
I really enjoyed this. I only got to like the 6th or 7th level due to frustration. But this was so much fun and a challenge. Only thing to improve could be by adding a soundtrack. However I loved the sound effects. They were really cute and the death one sounded like farts haha. Well done you should be proud ~Boa
Nice. Similar controls to the game I made. But a different idea. There wasn't much graphical variation but the gamepay was solid. Overall very fun and that death message got a chuckle. Well done.
This is great well done.
I enjoyed this but the second time I went to sleep the game broke ant the buttons to move/heal etc were missing. However from what I saw this is a very good entry, I enjoyed the take on the theme and thought the method of leveling up was very clever.
Pretty decent. Good to see someone else from Ireland. I found the gravity on bullets just slightly annoying. I enjoyed your take on the theme however. Well done I hope you continue to enter ludum dare.
Great Game. I really enjoyed the puzzles.
A very nice atmospheric wander through worlds. I went low poly too this time. Yours looks better though you managed to make so many different models I don't know how you found the time.
This is a very pretty and atmospheric game. But the gameplay is very bland. I must come back when I have more time and discover more of what there is.
I really enjoyed this the frustrating gameplay really got to me but it was also fun. The puzzles had great design. I started making a puzzle game a while back where you could only walk between certain colours like in this I cant believe I didn't remember it when I heard the theme >.< .
@arzi Thanks for the tip and the OS/X info. really appreciate that.
@Techbolgogy I'll take that into account in future thanks.
And thanks to everyone else for the great feedback.
@local minimum that's strange. did you retry downloading it? I'll be uploading it to Gamejolt in a day or two and maybe a web version so if you cant get it to work you might have to wait for that. I don't think anyone else has had this problem. I hope you can sort it out I really like your games and would love to see your (always helpful) feedback.
@local minimum I'm sorry my game was so awkward for you to download and use. Were the instructions not clear enough or was it the font I used in them?
Haha I looked at that map during the week but had no time to play any games with school. It's weekend now Time to get cracking.
The graphics are great the mood is great. I think I missed one of the items but it still let me through. I loved the idea of the train connecting worlds inside itself when trains usually connect places outside of themselves. That little paragraph at the end was really nice and the constant train noise constantly reminds you that you are still on a train even if you are looking at magnificent birds in cages or a tall library.
I would love to see more of this. If you're making more is there a way to follow developements?
This was fun. I like the take on the theme. The graphics were nice and the different levels were interesting. I loved how unexplained a lot of it was.
POOT POOT POOT POOT. Finally a game I can relate to! I'm always pooping and eating! Seriously though. well done. I really found this idea interesting and funny. The difficulty was a little bit steep though so I didn't get that far.
I enjoyed this game. the theme seemed to be quite similar to other games I have played though. I think this pulls it off best though
Well done.
This game is missing something. Maybe some kind of fiery hole?
Why did you make this game when you could have made a fire hole game where you push the corporation into the fire holes in various connected worlds?
This game was so fun.Controlling the space ship with the different gravitys was great but I found the cannon too hard to use .I enjoyed the music and sfx but I think you should have had a sound for the thrusters. The graphics were also quite nice add the change in colour of the background was a very nice touch.
This is a very interesting game cant say much for the take on the theme though. I enjoyed the stories that I made out of this.
SUper good I really enjoyed.
Fun but difficulty is steep.
Wow. Just Wow. This is brilliant!
I want this to be more.
Wow I really love this game. It appeals to me more so than ever right now because of it's personal nature and the themes it deals with. The smooth walk animation was really lovely too.
I don't know about sending the player to your album afterwards. It feels kind of pushy. I did listen to and enjoy your music. But slightly guiltily.
Fun. A good entry considering time constraints. I had a good bit of fun with this thank you.
The graphics could have been more stylized maybe. The particle effects were cool though.
The gameplay was good but it could have accelerated a bit less. I couldn't beat 10 bounces. I really enjoyed this game so much.
@Jupitron That's definitely planned for the next update.
Grindstorm you can break the walls
@ZYXer I know exactly what it is that's causing that and I'm going to fix it in the post jam version.
A good idea however the controls were way too awkward. Obviously alot of good work done here but I couldn't go bakc if I clicked accidentally. Maybe if you did a post LD versin with arrow keys and an action button. Keep up the good work, the graphics were nice and the theme interpretation was interesting.
Wow great game. I really liked the background textures. Also the DOTT tentacles were cool. The audio was great. I also really enjoyed your take on the theme. Overall very good.
Fun but thee controlls were disorientating (original version. I didn't have anyone to play with either. I loved the music.
I felt the controls could have been better but overall a fun and nice looking game. Well done.
The balance is all off. But other than that all the systems work perfectly. A post jam version with a few improvements would be good.
A fun game. It made me think about life. Thanks for the experience.
I always love your stuff. You always have smooth gameplay and amazing art style.
A fun little thing. Well done. This was really entertaining.
Nice mood, and col theme interpretation. I just couldn't find any clues as to who it would be every time.
By far the most fun I've had this LD. I really enjoyed this. I made it to level 12. I would definitely play an expanded(see what I did there) version of this. I could play this for hours if it had a loot system more weapons and "Deflecto Sword" was changed to "Deflecto Swordâ„¢". I loved the graphics, music, and theme interpretation. A really solid little game.
Love the graphics. Smooth gameplay, the shovel mechanic was really cool. Well done.
I enjoyed it. The graphics are smooth, the sound is nicely integrated, and it presents a fun challenge, if a bit too chalengeing maybe.
Iiiinteresting...
Really loved the art audio and mood but the themes the game deals with aren't actually dealt with. I really want to love this game, I love the ridiculousness of it all but I feel some of it could have been different and been more disturbing.
Anyway I really liked it after some thought.
It's extremely artistic and seems to have a lot of thought put into it for 3 days. I watched your progress on twitter and downloaded this as soon as possible after the jam.
Good job, the pixel art style was well done and the gameplay mechanics were interesting. I would love to see a version of this worked on a bit more.
:O nu ra nu nu n-nu men rah nu
Super good :)
Lot's of fun but I couldn't tell when I died. Overall a very cool game well done, I would love a version for my phone.
One of my favorites so far.
The idea is good but the tutorial is a bit confusing and flashed bye too fast for me. The art was well done for it's style. I also wish you had more time to look at the sighting bits, I felt like I might have been missing jokes. Maybe pause the game when you are spotted then have a continue button I see you didn't allow ratings on audio so I presume it wasn't something you made but nonetheless it was well chosen and fitted in to the mood of the game wonderfully.
Overall a good job. Keep on jamming.
bigbuggames, That sounds like a Big Bug...
Seriously though I'll look into this if I'm doing a post jam version.
Easily one of the best games I've played this LD. Well done on a really great entry.
What a fun game. I even managed to climb the cliff at the left and get a view over what I had destroyed. Wasn't sure what the point of the stick things was though. Definitely made sure to destroy as much as possible. Would be cool too see this but you can fly too.
I'm just glad this exists and isn't called "Seagull Simulator"
I hope you work on this post compo, I really want to find out the rest of the story.
Interesting take on the theme well done. I jus wish I had someone to test with also maybe a slight colour difference between the two sides enemies could go a long way towards readability in a 2 player situation.
An interesting idea well presented. I found the AI a little wonky at times though.
An interesting little game. Really interesting mechanics. Unfortunately the gameplay was a bit slow for me and the writing just slightly boring but good overall.
Perfect game. Exactly what I was looking for with this theme well done.
Cool and interesting idea. Good job.
A great take on the theme, the graphics were amazing the story was good and the audio gave a good sense of urgency.
However. The first time I played I started attacking people but after atacking about 5 people I started just running through and bet it without another death. Then the second time I killed everyone with little difficulty. I feel something as simple as say walls that you have to jump over and something that you can only go under might force you into more combat situations and create spaces where there is more difficulty in the combat.
Overall it was a solid and interesting jam game which lacked something gameplay wise. Well done on making an enjoyable experience.
<3 <3 <3 <3 <3 wonderful!
Awesome little entry I enjoyed the way the controls grew over time good job.
Ahhh this is so nice ^^ I enjoyed it but once I had three lil friends and tried to feed them I got a fatal error :(
Here it is:
FATAL ERROR in
action number 1
of Step Event0
for object obj_kikker:
Unable to find any instance for object index '103085' name '<undefined>'
at gml_Object_obj_kikker_Step_0

I played for so long without realizing time was passing. <3 TY for making cool games <3
What a neat little idea. I enjoyed this quite a bit. As you said the assets seem a bit unfinished but the mood is definitely there. Well done!
Awesome little game. Really enjoyed it.
Frustrating but great. Good job. Things I noticed were that the music loop got a little too repetitive towards the end of my game, and the graphics are a little basic. However those didn't ruin how fun and creative it was.
Interesting little game. Really appeals to me. My only problem was framerate issues, but I understand optimizing isn't something that is easy in a jam.
Pretty cool game I managed to get to 200. I felt it was a bit slow and difficult starting off, but once you get into the flow the difficulty evens out a bit. The art was nice. There was a weird short burst of static every time I lost though.
How is this so good?
Sweet! Great concept well executed. Well done.
A fun little game. Had difficulty with the controls but it was well presented and had a solid gameplay mechanical base. It could have done with a bit of a nicer scoring system. I love negative scoring in games usually but here it was far too likely that you would lose points and the crates never gave you many points in return. Perhaps you could have multiplied the value of a crate by its distance from the planet? Overall a solid entry well done!
I love this. I don't know if I saw everything but I feel really relaxed after playing. The interaction and design was so smooth. The art direction and audio created an amazing atmosphere. I din't really understand where this fits with the theme but you did an amazing job over the weekend. I really loved this so much and you should be proud of yourself. Thanks for making it.
Had a great time with this. I love the style, in fact it's sort of similar to my games style just mine is more grimy. The audio was great and the theme was interpreted in a unique and refreshing way. I love the idea of an ancient being running out of power. The only things I have issues with are that combat is basically just a how fast can you tap x while moving back and forth test and the text disappears before you can read it sometimes.
Well done. You created a unique and genuinely enjoyable game and should be proud of yourself.
This is the longest I think I've spent with a ludum dare 39 game yet. Great job. Clever interpretation of the theme with fun and constantly changing mechanics. I love it!
I liked this game but I feel the platformer element did not need to be there to make connecting the boxes any harder. Overall it's a really amazing idea and a great implementation there was just a lot of unfun guesswork and it was hard to correct mistakes. Overall an amazing achievement for the jam time limit and you should be really happy with yourself. This is the first game I've played that I'd love to see a larger more polished version of.
This is an amazing little Idea and is nicely put together. I really enjoyed this and for the short time limit you managed to populate it really well! You should be proud of what you've achieved <3
Wow I love this game! Shame there isn't any music though. The graphics and game feel are top notch and the atmosphere is pretty great. Mechanically I couldn't really understand it as well as I would have liked. The power mechanic was a bit confusing for me to be honest and the shop was confusing and never explained. I had such a good time playing though and you should b proud of what you have accomplished.
I love these bois! The game was fun and looked gorgeous and so cute but the controls were a bit of a pain and the tutorial was probably a bit confusing. All the art was amazing and the theme was dealt with in a pretty interesting way. Overall a good game. I really enjoyed it and you should be proud of what you have achieved!
This is such a cool game I just wish I wasn't so bad at it...
The art and music are stellar and the theme is used in such a great way. The whole game has a sense of humor about it that is amazing. You should be super proud of this.
This is an amazingly fun little toy and deserves to be loved by all. Well done!
This was a great experience! I loved the voice acting, the art had a lovely feel, the fixed camera was awkward but also helped the AI stay in the center of the screen. The controls were a little bit awkward but overall I loved it <3 You did an amazing job congratulations! You should be proud of yourself!
This was wonderful to play. It feels looks and sounds great. I love the characters design and stuff like the mushrooms show a nice attention to detail. The atmosphere makes it feel hectic which really elevates your use of the theme. A lot of the games I've played so far just have your power draining slowly but here you're rapidly running out of power and you know it. A well executed and thoroughly enjoyable game overall. Well done. you should be so proud of this!
A cute entertaining game but the only difficulty is in the controls being a pain which in my opinion isn't very fun. The theme use and the humor is very good still it would just be nice if the controls worked a bit better.
A fun and challenging little platformer that was well presented and sounded great. The power mechanic was okay but felt a bit bland to be perfectly honest. It certainly wasn't a bad use of the theme but it wasn't the most creative either. The controls felt great and the ui was smooth and easy to use.
Overall a great game that could have just been pushed a little bit further. You did a great job and should be proud.
@chriiis88 Glad to hear you liked it. I would like to adress one or two of your points as I feel they are somewhat inaccurate.
Actually there is a safety frame. In fact there is a couple of safety frames. This is just subtle as a safety frame in my opinion is never intended to appear as though you are jumping in mid air. if you expect a safety frame to work this way it will feel wrong, however if you expect to jump off of the solid platform it appears you are still standing on but actually aren't you will it wont feel unfair. I feel like your issue with this is more in the tuning of numbers than the existence of those numbers at all.
For some players the fine tuning afforded by the sprint allows them to make jumps easier on keyboard. I know from feedback, that people previously found the keyboard controls too clunky and adding a sprint has helped those people. Admittedly it may make more sense to have sprint as default and the sprint button make you move slower.
This was really fun. I got 80 points. I have mixed feelings about the idea of turning negative/positive thoughts or really any mental health issue into a game mechanic to be played with but I actually feel you handled it rather tastefully.
A funny cute little game.
10/10 would spend five minutes trying to do handstands over sausages again!
Wow I just spent so much time playing this. It was nice after watching some of your streams to get to play this. The only problem I have with it is that the core premise of searching for the portal in a given time limit is far too RNG based meaning that you can lose a perfectly good run on lower amounts of time just because you hadn't reached one corner of the map yet.
Overall though this is a highly polished and beautifully crafted little game.
@local-minimum Ohh sorry, I should have put in the voice over that there was an exit hatch on the ceiling, sorry.
@jern sounds like the intended experience to me!
This was super fun, would have been nice if you'd explained about the red Xes in game but otherwise it was great. Loved the art and audio, and really enjoyed the concept!
Loved this :3
This was so cute and fun I loved all the different types of robots! Put a big smile on my face :3
I had a bunch of fun playing this, I may have misunderstood something but it felt like the scoring was a little broken for some of the bag types though. On the red handbag I could never get more than 50% despite having only 1 or 2 spaces left. Regardless it was a really cool idea, well executed with great art, audio and a strong sense of humour. Well done!
Aww this was clever. I made it 2 minutes in. It would have been nice to say "hold the left mouse button" instead of "press the left mouse button" as the later lead to me single clicking and having to refresh the page in confusion 3 or 4 times at first.
This was so cute! the gameplay was a little too slow for me but it was a clever concept overall. Great idea for the theme, well done!
Had a great time with this, well done!
@waldinx yeah I realised that that would be handy when testing but was too tight on time to do it unfortunately.
Really enjoyed this. You did some clever stuff with the game design, only issue I had was it felt a bit more frantic than I'd like from an idle game. Overall a really solid entry, well done on creating such a polished game over the weekend!
This was interesting. A really clever take on the theme even though it was a little bit confusing how everything worked. Well done!
This was pretty cool, controls were kind of janky but the idea was solid. Your attack system wasn't great tbh. I got stuck above some enemies and couldn't fight back. I really liked that you did a voiceover and there were some funny sound effects. Well done!
Had a lot of fun with this, It was frustrating, I gave up eventually. The lack of music was a big a big issue for me, music, especially if it was in time with the worm's movement speed would have made it easier for me to turn at the right time. I guess I just don't have great coordination for something like this lol. I loved the cute simple pixelart and the whole concept is really clever. Well done!
This is a crazy good concept and clever interpretation of the theme. Really enjoyed this, well done!
Great fun collection of simple minigames. Good scope for a jam, shame there's no audio, would have really sold it.
Thanks for all the feedback everyone!
@hilkojj they should be moving the right way, in my tests the higher you go the further down the screen the hills are. They do get closer together as they move down as they should do so this may be an optical illusion. If you're certain they're moving wrong this may be a bug.
@ryjcio @local-minimum unfortunately the level design took place for the most part in the final hour and a half or so of the jam so it suffered quite a bit from being rushed. I also had pretty good control of the unicycle myself at that stage so I couldn't guage difficulty as well. I'm considering adding a new level that better uses all the elements I created for level design and has a more reasonable difficulty curve.
I think that for people who enjoy this sort of thing the current level is probably reasonable but considering it's a jam entry I can imagine it's not as fun for the general audience. In my experience difficulty proves again and again to be the most difficult thing to get right in a jam ':D
Really good entry, let down a bit by not being generous enough with timing in my opinion. Without super clear telegraphs for when things are popular it's very easy to end up jumping or transferring too soon or late. Overall though very well presented and a lot of fun once you get the hang of it.
Yeah I'm not gonna get a consistent movement on this one, still a bit of silly fun, thanks!
Such a cool idea, great atmosphere an a brilliant fit for the theme!
Game's no good doesn't even run well :P
Jokes aside this is a really clever idea for the theme and a lot of fun to play, great work!
I can't stop wondering... Is the main character MONKE?!
@jcmonkey Yeah the game is kind of intentionally possible to cheese for the same reason that I added the time slider. I want the game to be beatable for any skill level, and for nothing to be a complete progress blocker. I want to allow the player to define their challenge, treat the game as almost a toy, and ultimately find the fun they want within it.
@iwilliams Yeah this game could do with a lot better visual communication tbh. Wish I had time to highlight the object you are able to pick up and maybe darken objects while collision is disabled.
@velvetlobster thanks! Yeah I'm really happy with how the art turned out that's an interesting comparrison to Paper Mario. Really I'd had the chance to add some guidance on controls, throwing and trajectory to the starting area.
@velvetlobster It doesn't use any of the player's momentum. It's basically the same consistent arc every time. I did this on purpose for that consistency and also to prevent the feature taking longer to implement, this is also why there isn't any sort of arc or aiming indicator.
@glayson Yeah as I mentioned in one of my previous comments this is purposeful design for the sake of allowing players of differing skill levels to find what fun they want in the game. If I expand on the game I may add a mode that punishes this but honestly I like that basically anyone can beat my game one way or another. I agree about the SFX though. I think it's one of the things that most subtracts from the final presentation of the game.
@local-minimum the slider sets the time it takes for the water to rise far left is 2:00 minutes and right is I think 20:00 minutes so I think you might have been playing on the hardest difficulty. Yeah shame I didn't get to put in some controller support.
Great work, I don't quite understand what's happening but what I do understand is that my toilet beats everything and that makes me happy. The design and audio are really great and the Concept is perfect for the theme, well done!
Never been a fan of this sort of control scheme but I really enjoyed the dialogue and art style and the game was solid overall!
Wow! This is the level of chill gameplay I originally imagined for my game, I was even planning tools that worked similar to this haha. Anyway this is a really impressive jam, and all around super polished, great work, I'd love to see this expanded or a different project in a similar style!
@brusi yeah sadly I only had like an hour to do level design. If you'd like to see more, the post jam version has level design tweaks to help with getting out of the starting area, a fix to an issue where one of the plants was missing and improved menus.
A really beautiful experience, the storytelling aspect was so well done I could see a version of this with some story scenes where you actually see them giving the gifts and get some dialogue between the two people turning out really well. I found the plant tended to grow over itself a little too much for the 2D perspective and it was hard to target branches because of that. Great work on the stylisation too! I think you achieved a really cohesive visual experience!
Great work! I really enjoyed the challenge. I wasn't a fan of the movement speed but I also know it fits the design of the game. Love the art style and the background cheers were a great touch!
Great work with the theme! I don't really know what all the side effects do but a lot of them were very fun.
Lovely little platformer, I would suggest buffering the jump input a little bit to allow you to press jump just before you hit the ground and have the player jump when they land. I kept mistiming jumps a little early because of miscalculating the falling trajectory and this would have helped a little. I'd also love if there was some audio or visual glitch that happened like a second or 2 before the error to really up the tension if you're cutting it close.
Bit of a sensory overload but I still enjoyed the presentation and pyramid scheme framing. Gameplay feels a little rough and at one stage I was unable to stop myself getting pushed off a triangle but the actual gameplay loop could be pretty enjoyable in a more easily readable presentation I think.
@nikitavychuz yeah I'm definitely adding ways to operate on multiple tiles in an update at some point. It's unreasonable to expect players to click 65000 times if they want to unlock every tile.
@marton this was made in 72 hours and so is only suitable for the jam. I've been doing Ludum Dare for 9 years now and always entered the jam, 48 hours is just not enough for my workflow.
@juzdepeche and @adamwigs I intend to add an auto clicker as an accessibility option in the post jam updates. You will be able to set it to either toggle or hold and adjust the click rate to your liking. I think it would be unfair to put this behind an unlock as you only really do that much clicking at the start of the game. Thank you for playing!
Thank you to everyone who's played and given feedback so far I'm really glad I've wasted so much of your collective time!
@bcmpinc yeah sadly I had to rush implementation of the unlock system. In hindsight it should be a lot more difficult and expensive to get some of the higher level automation. There's lots of things I really want to add to this but it definitely needs some balancing for the first post jam version.
@renrok yeah there's a lot of balance issues right now to be fair, it's likely the rng wasn't kind to you with the drops, those should probably be less randomised. I'm sorry you didn't find it satisfying, thanks for the honest feedback I'll keep it in mind when I work on a post jam version.
What a lovely little experience! I really appreciated the little twists added with the rocks and carrots. I think I would have preferred either a follow cam or more responsive non tank controls tbh. I did really enjoy the physicality and ease of play though, a very chill experience all around!
Love the artwork, feels like with a little extra atmosphere and motion this would be a very beautiful game. I found the movement frustrating because there seems to be friction against surfaces and the movement vector isn't normalised leading to diagonal movement being faster. This makes the game feel a lot worse to play than it should sadly as the camera is constantly changing speed. I played until I got a dragon egg and both the upgrade costs were over 1000.
I see there's a bar above the players head so I'm guessing there was originally plans for some sort of combat or energy mechanic which definitely would have added a lot. Well done though you made something really cool and with a lot of potential. I definitely want to see what you can make with more time and experience, keep it up!
Really well done! I found the fetch quests a little bit tedious if I'm being honest but the pacing and payoff was stellar! Great sound and art too, really captured the N64 vibe!
Solid prototype, I feel like ravens could appear a lot more when you have a full field and maybe have a fail state if your field becomes empty. There's definitely an engaging gameplay loop in this. It's just a shame you didn't have more time to make it shine because this is very well done for just 4 hours.
Very well done, would be nice to have dash mapped to RMB and maybe some sort of lock on. I didn't really feel like I had the degree of control I wanted but to have such a slick combat system in such a short time is commendable regardless. I really enjoyed the presentation, there were a few elements that felt like they clashed but over all it was very atmospheric. Sound design was nicely done too!
Honestly my biggest issue is I wish you would have had only one gameplay mode where some areas of the level have wheat and some just have combat. I think it would probably have been a smoother experience that way and the fact that I had two options didn't really add anything exciting to the game for me.
Overall though this is a really well made entry and you should all be proud!
I'm beginning to understand how people playing my clicker game feel... Actually I feel like your game has a longer tech tree which is something I was sad I didn't have time for. Anyway this is a really solidly balanced and nicely designed clicker, I really appreciate the humour, the radio station is a very clever idea. Only issues I have are that there's no way to pan around and the art feeling a little undirected and not entirely thought out. The TurnipCo store often blocks the view of things behind it making it hard to read.
All around though a really solid jam entry and one that I'm still actively enjoying after about an hour of play well done!
also I would appreciate a mute button, the music is great but there's a point where it gets pretty repetitive.
@kulich strange, did you have more than 2000 gold? And was the version you downloaded LDJam1.02? There's 3 different endings and you should have been able to trigger some of them talking to Astella with 2000+ gold. Sorry to hear that happened I put a lot of thought into the endings.
@kulich unlucky, an off by one error. I'll double check and fix that today!
@kulich I've fixed that now, thanks for reporting the issue!
@local-minimum thanks for the in depth feedback. Making something with this scope in 72 hours definitely lead to some rough around the edges results haha. Animations were only added in the last 2 hours... I'll update the controls on itch and add them to this page too. Was very tired when I first wrote them up. Glad you didn't give up. An auto move toggle button is high on my list of priorities for a post jam release. I had a chill playtest of an updated build today and ended up wanting auto move very badly despite having a really good time.
@mpk90 thank you I really did my best to give the game world as much thought as possible. Last few Ludum dares I left level design till the last minute so I wanted to make it integral to the process this time.
@hacksawunit ooh Imissed your comment here, the post jam version actually already has tighter on foot turning and an auto move, as well as an improved npc directions system. Glad you enjoyed!
Really great addictive game. Had anb absolute blast playing this and am considering installing it on my phone. I adored the art direction using watercolour so much!
Had a lot of fun with this, I enjoyed it enough to play a second time trying to see what happened at the edge of the map.
Very fun game and I loved the concept. Great execution on the theme too!
This was a fun little clicker and the walking sim part worked better than I expected! Great job!
Such a great take on golf! I love the art, and the level design was really interesting!
