PTSD Fishing by KuKuRammus 2021-10-06T00:47:42Z
I'm not sure that I understand the concept behind the ptsd, but I can say that I like the idea of a fishing game that turns really intense the closer you get to reeling it in. Solid game.

I'm a sucker for truck driving simulators. It's difficult, but a solid entry with nice visuals.
Simple concept that's fun to play. Solid game.
Nice little time capsule. Goal was clear and you had to pursue it in a novel way, it was a fun game overall.
Nice atmosphere, simple concept done well. Solid game.
Nice game, simple graphics but with enough of an effect to make them look appealing. It looks like restart times have already been touched upon so I won't mention them. If I had to offer criticism, I'd say that maneuvering with the rope feels a bit awkward for my liking, maybe that's part of the difficulty curve but I can't say the ropes were my favorite part of the gameplay loop. Still a fun game though, classic platforming but with enough of a change in the gameplay to make it stand out. Good entry.
Nice game, the visual style is nice and it's fun to control.
Can't help but think of magicka when playing. What I like about this game is that you're effectively under a time limit so there's pressure to use your spell combinations rather than test and trying to figure out what's best. Part of the fun of the game for me is seeing the different combinations of spells that you can use. Fun game.
Nice concept, movement is fun. Obstacles being introduced at a steady pace make the gameplay feel fresh. The only complaint i'd offer is that the unstable gun takes too much control away from the player movement. Good game though.
It's fun to keep the balance of no more than 2 objects per box and the tv menu is nice as well as the background. If I had to offer any criticism, tilting feels a little weak compared to the movement. Overall nice game though.
The business aesthetic was cool. It feels a bit weird that you're in a forest and there's office noises in the background. Fun game overall though.
Great atmosphere and music, I liked the mechanics of the game. Nice entry.
Fixed camera and clearly communicated visuals give the game a nice feel. Nice game overall.
I like the aesthetic of this game. It feels a bit awkward to pick up powerups because you inadvertently fire when you press the left mouse button. Cool game overall though.
Nearly all the goals are about coping and every success is met with the sigh of a depressed man and that contributes a good deal to the mood of the game. I liked the game but even with the aim I wish that there was a little more gameplay and context to the narrative just because I felt like I needed to know more about the story in order to fully enjoy it. Solid game though.
Background and art design are nice. It's fun having to play around the floor going out as the waves progress. If I had to offer criticism, i'd say that it feels a little slow in the beginning waves. Solid game overall though.
Nice aesthetic, always a fan of the toxic gas mask theming. I liked the subtle difference in enemies, one charger that's more likely to hit you and then just a wanderer enemy that can be more easily avoided, this way you have to pay attention or you're rewarded for it anyway. I think that the gameplay might lean more heavily into resource management, but the what you're carrying is still unstable to be fair. I also wish the boss' attack was more visually clear, but the fact that the game had a cool boss in the first place overshadows that minor inconvenience. Solid entry.
Solid game, the simple visuals are appealing as well.
Hard game, but fun to play. Good concept.
@deav Ya, I think that your suggested control scheme would work better and maybe the difficulty would need to be adjusted just to make sure it's not too easy. Thanks for the feedback!
@shaolin-dave Thanks for the nice feedback, here's my response because this is the most in depth criticism death rail has gotten so far.
1. Ya 2 hand control setup feels less artificially difficult I think (then rebalance difficulty most likely)
2. wanted to do that, didn't have time
3. valid criticism and worth considering, I think either is fine (pause menu would make auto restart better imo)
4. lacking time, lack of spark polish is grating but i'm glad sparks made it into the game honestly (we didn't consider the particle system due to usually focusing on 2d)
5. I agree, just lacking time
6. Ya I agree that a clearer conveyance of information at the end screen was necessary to tell the player that they finished the game
7. esc was listed under story controls so it only works for the 2 screens of story
@heremeus So you're saying that you landed on the rail and then fell off a few milliseconds later? If it is a bug we haven't encountered it so far but good to know.
The graphics felt unique and I feel like having a distinct player character adds a good bit to the game. Impressive that you managed to do so much in the time for a game jam, nice game overall.
It's a fun game and I was surprised by the level of polish.
Graphics are great. Tutorial helps me understand my goal and how to accomplish it. Really solid game, it would be nice if it was clearer how to make some of the more complicated potion colors though. Overall very solid.
Feels like a golfing game, but I like that because golfing is more boring than launching a pill through a stomach. Simple and fun game, nice entry.
I really like the concept of being able to manipulate and place platforms in a platforming game. However 2 things for me felt frustrating, the jump felt like I dropped like a sack of bricks once I let go of either side movement keys, and missing a jump might mean I soft locked the level due to not having enough pink block resources. That being said, the difficulty felt hard but the game is consistent and fair even if punishing. I did enjoy the game overall, solid entry.
Game feels like it has a strong tone, it's got a lot of potential.
Environment was large and felt varied. Navigating the environment in the dark and with the music in the background made the gameplay feel more tense. I just don't like having to do the same minigame over and over, it felt tedious. I can still appreciate the game though, nice entry.
I like the management side of this game, it feels a bit unique. Really polished and solid entry.
I like that the implementation of the theme still allowed for the success or failure to be fully in control of the player. If I had to offer criticism i'd say that it requires a bit too much patience for my liking, but that could be just a personal preference as well. Solid entry overall.
Nice game. The graphics and tone are calming. My only frustration with the game was that I was that I thought that I had made a pile, but the game didn't seem to recognize it, either I did it wrong or maybe the goal needs to be clearer to the player in specifically what a pile counts as. I still liked the game overall though, good entry.
Really like the art, fun game overall.
Great game, compendium adds a lot of investment to me even if i'm not going to fill it out completely because I know that if I do replay the game more, i'll be able to make progress in the compendium. If I had to criticize it, i'd say that for replayability, the start feels a bit long. The old god theming was great though, nice entry overall.
I like the card game aesthetic and it was nice seeing how each choice played out, nice game overall.
