I like the idea, however the gameplay is kinda slow. I was playing for quite some time and god only got hooked like three fish. Also, I probably misunderstood the controls, but I couldn't catch any of the fish when the "arrow part" occurred. Other than that, it is really nice game. I love the graphics and the chill background sounds.
PS: My wife says "it is like a true fishing simulator... because of the waiting" (haha)

I am honestly amazed at how polished this game is! The art, sounds, and gameplay work incredibly well together. I actually kind of like the slow pace. It's a fishing game after all, and it contrasts nicely with the intensity of the flashback. Very creative way to poke fun at PTSD tropes!

Genuinely felt the PTSD that this cat was feeling. The mood was absolutely killer, both in the calm fishing sections and the frantic reeling mode. Also you guys used a very clever mechanic for reeling in the fish. No need to go fishing for compliments after a submission this good!
This game is really slow paced which to me would usually be a negative but for this game it feels great. It's so relaxing to play, I love the visuals and the sound. Also, the mechanic for actually reeling in the fish was a nice surprise. Very nice entry, good work!
Pretty polished game, but I only found it enjoyable for about a minute. The slow pace is nice for mood, but it felt like it took ages just to catch 3 fish.
I really liked the changing mood in this game. Really nicely interpreted theme. Minimalistic and simple design was also appealing.

A nice relaxing (maybe not for the cat) fishing game. The graphics were really well done and the fishing mechanic was implemented well. Being able to influence where the lure is after casting was a nice touch.
Some background music would really sell the PTSD portion as well as more sound effects. Adding a downside to failing to catch a fish might be nice as well.
Good job! The PTSD is really fun (never thought I'd say that...). It feels really tense. My only critique is that I wish the fish would bite quicker or that there was some minigame involved to keep me engaged while I wait. Solid game in any case though. Thanks for making it!
EDIT: also music would be nice. Especially if it's really chill then turns super tense during the PTSD.

Really loved the graphics and how the character moves. As already being said gameplay by itself is mostly just waiting, there's nothing you can do to improve the chances of fish getting the bait. I guess it would be nice to have a little backstory of why this kitty has PTSD while fishing. Maybe it would be hillarious to give a gun to the fish or something, I suppose that would add more meaning to mentioning PTSD. Other than that, I liked this game.
Amazing visuals, amazing mood, and amazing sound. While I love the game overall, I definitely wanted to play more and wanted to see some variation in gameplay. I had a strong urge to catch all fish but because the game only has two mini-game style mechanics, it loses its charm suddenly. If you could add 1-2 more different gameplay elements, it would be amazing. Overall, it's a really fun and cute game with great amount of polish. Keep up the good work <3
I absolutely love how it goes from 0 to 100 in no time after you hook a fish, just like real fishing. Although I don't know if I have enough patience for virtual fishing. Nonetheless, the art was awesome and I enjoyed reeling in the fish tons

Sound adds so much to this experience. The heartbeat and the shots in the background and the panic of trying to reel in the fish while the time is running out. At first I felt that waiting for the fish to bite was a little too boring, but after I caught a few I realized that the wait is actually your chance to relax while you're listening to the birds before the next PTSD episode. This game is deep, it's an experience, it's the stuff.
Good art and sounds! Gameplay seems a bit slow and then jumps to super difficult, so could do with more balancing.
Im a fan of the chill fishing vibes and the audio works nicely. Sweet graphics too!
@13x666 thanks for the feedback, you totally got the idea. However I agree with others too, adding some kind of feedback while player waits for a fish to bite would make gameplay more engaging :)
I'm not sure that I understand the concept behind the ptsd, but I can say that I like the idea of a fishing game that turns really intense the closer you get to reeling it in. Solid game.

A really original Idea for a game. A little bit repetitive after the first time but other than that it was really fun. The gameplay was intuitive and everything was fluid. Good job

I would get PTSD too if I'd had to fish with such a dramatic transition from chilly waiting to PRESS ALL THIS BUTTONS REAL QUICK OR YOUR ENTIRE FAMILY WILL STARVE TO DEATH. Cool.

I think this game is pretty fun although I don't like how long you have to wait for the fishes to catch the bait. I'd have liked it better if the fishes were more prone to go for the bait but swam faster and therefore you had to make sure to throw your rod where there are fishes available. I am not really a fishing game type of guy though.
The mood was set really well, the first time I caught a fish I really felt the stress. However, I wish there was more to the game. Like something you could do with the fish you've caught, might have been me missing something.
One thing I have to mention is that this game feels awfully similar to [**THIS**](https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/48/fishing-trouble) submission from the last Ludum Dare

Nice idea! I loved how everything changes when you catches a fish. I like the part when you're waiting for a fish but it feels very random when a fish gets your attention. Good job!

I really like reaction based games so I enjoyed this very much! I'd love there to be a little more to the game, like maybe rewards for catching certain types of fish, but I totally understand Game Jam constraints. Really neat and fun twist on a fishing game. Art is good and sound effects really do set the tone of both the calm and the PTSD portion. Now I really want to know this kitty's backstory! Clicked on your game because of the weird title and I wasn't disappointed. :)

Fun simple game, I wish the fish were more dynamic so the game could keep the tempo up, otherwise it looks great and I loved the catching mechanics!
The catching was pretty intense but also super funny, I like the take on the theme a lot.
Fun little fishing minigame, interesting take on the the theme. I love the fact that when you messed up in the first phase of catching fish you don't instantly lose, but rather go back one step. It would be nice if there was a feature like that for the arrows as well, like screwing up an arrow input adds 2 more inputs to the list.
Anyways, well done!
Super creative take on the theme and was executed wonderfully. The contrast between the relaxing sounds of fishing and the heart-beats and gunfire really works amazingly well to set the tone.
I am especially impressed by the way the audio and visual transitions between each of the game states, It's very smooth and convincing.
Sound design overall is flawless, I honestly can't find anything bad about it. Visually, some extra animations on the fish would have been nice. Still, I found it very cool how if you fail the fish swims away to the side, that's a nice touch!
The only thing I would say could improve the game would be a bit more variety in the gameplay. Maybe having different minigames to be chosen at random in the PTSD phase would have helped here, so you're always on the edge about them and the unpredictability. I think paired with the sound design it would really kick up the mood up a few notches.
But overall a very solid and polished entry to the jam!
It was shocked me. The calmness of the fish before hooking and the unstable of the fish after hooking create a strong emotional contrast.

This is a very nice experience. The pixelart here is very nice, and the sound designs work well to set the mood. The implementation of the theme via PTSD is well done, and it feels like the disorder was incorporated in a respectful way. The gameplay is very slow and simple, but it works well enough. I do wish there was more here, as it was a game I stuck with for about 5 minutes before getting the impression that I could in it. Despite that, this is a nice entry. Good job.
Very nice overall, lovely graphics and the concept was pretty well thought out. Oddly enjoyable considering it's a game about PTSD! Only gripe was that when catching a fish it was all so very sudden that sometimes I would hit space again and cancel out of the fishing mini games. Other than that, highly enjoyable much of PTSD inducing mini games!
