LD47 — Stuck in a loop

Future Loop by madalaski 2020-10-07T19:02:51Z

Very good game, loved the audio, it can be addictive, also it quickly becomes challenging which I love. Maybe control are a little bit weird, but also make it even harder, which is good for this kind of game

Loop Snatch! by cake 2020-10-07T18:37:15Z

Game has interesting design, but also is hardly connected to the theme, as you stated you didn't like the theme. Other thing is as already stated above, missing menu. Other than that game could be interesting, rewinding time is fun concept, but also based on available content I think it took most of your time (hence lack of levels)

Loop the Poop by Merrow 2020-10-08T21:57:13Z

1st world problems: when you have to buffer poop in loop in order to use only available outlet.

Too Hot to Handle by TheMoonrise 2020-10-06T11:43:08Z

Game is really good, simple yet can be hard when firestorms decide to burn your whole map.

"Multiplayer" concept is interesting, each player that plays is stuck with whatever one before left. After launching rocket I got only graph with my resource usage. I think it should also say something more.

I really liked this game

hudunnit by Minus 2020-10-06T16:59:23Z

That should be escape, but since this was our first attempt with godot and without much experience we might have missed something, I'll check it properly and if there's an issue I'll send new build.

hudunnit by Minus 2020-10-07T18:21:23Z

@jarvisp99 sometimes time issues can change plans, that's why I personally joined LD42 and now LD47. We just started in gamedev, we might consider joining next editions of Ludum Dare. Also thansk for your comment, we're not replying to every single comment to avoid spamming here, but read all of them, just because we want to know what people think about our little project, and what we can improve.

hudunnit by Minus 2020-10-08T02:16:47Z

@gwailofi we actually missed that this blackout screen wasn't properly filling screen when you resize window, it was done almost as last feature not long before end of jam.

A Loop to Save The World by Crazybot 2020-10-06T11:13:44Z

Game looks nice, lack of audio is making it harder since player not always looks in corner of the screen to check health and no other thing is telling the player that there was something that dealt damage. Because of that it is very easy to die without knowing why (enemies shoot quickly), but it also makes game much more interesting to play, because you have to find how to avoid all those bullets.

Also not sure how I did that, but managed to get stuck in time rewind. It never got back to 3 minutes and allowed some inputs. Also because of that I was under terrain. I think I hit space when rewinding.

Overall pretty good game.

Stuck in a FOR Loop by Thiago Nascimento 2020-10-08T21:43:17Z

I like style and looping mechanics. Also I'm not sure if that is how I should end game but I just did ball thing twice.

Frying Donut by fachscahfttf 2020-10-07T18:27:08Z

I see this game can be addictive. Music fits it very well, feels nice. Graphics could be improved a bit, but also are not bad.

Chronophobia by Valkija 2020-10-07T18:54:55Z

Graphics and mood are amazing, any feedback from game that given object is interactable would be awesome. I couldn't get what I had to do, but if I spent more time with this one I'd be able to understand it.

Some kind of menu would be also a good addition, turning game off by ALT+F4 is a little bit weird after all.

Blobber by Cherry_princess 2020-10-08T02:33:53Z

Game is most likely unintentionally hard, first clue in description is obvious, later there seems to be no clues at all, or they are way too cryptic to understand.

Graphics are really good looking and idea seems interesting.

LD48 — Deeper and deeper

Helena by Minus 2021-04-27T11:45:10Z

@eta We're still investigating issue with slow movement, depth was maxed out already at the start by mistake. New build is now uploaded with at least some issues fixed. Thanks for playing our game :)

Deep Sea by enderswype 2021-04-29T10:53:29Z

Controls are a little bit tricky at start, but easily can adjust to that. Music was a little bit too loud for me.

"Tutorial", which means these yellow texts near start to remind player what to do are not visible enough, you can easily not notice them at all.

I liked that whatever you collect stays with you, and also liked how my broken submarines kept stacking, but at some point there was so much broken ones I had problems to swim around them.

Dive into the abyss by xiyou 2021-04-29T10:41:57Z

Game looks great, but there are some small issues that made me wonder what I actually was doing. - Selecting cards by right click and not left click is a little bit counter intuitive - No solid mention that you need to press shift to end turn - Tutorial might be reworked to show each action separately, this way people would better understand what's going on.

These are issues, but other than that game is quite good, works well, looks good and is playable :)

LD49 — Unstable

Cargo Breaker by ounai 2021-10-11T12:01:08Z

Nice and simple game, easy to understand rules and funny moments when phone is 2-3 times bigger than washing machine. Overall fun game. Projected trajectory of items seems fine, to not make it too easy it shouldn't be shown where item is supposed to land. Also one thing I'd add is wind. which would even further change projected trajectory.

RoboCompounds by kuggenhoffen 2021-10-11T11:41:47Z

As stated earlier: Instructions are not clear. Simple exclamation mark or question mark used as pickup would be more intuitive to tell people to grab it and check what it has to say. Dividing instructions into smaller parts (regarding given element, like separate thing for beaker dispenser, hopper, and delivery points). Also lack of controls to launch beakers to hopper is making things harder, cause constantly bashing my robot head to hopper in hope that it will cause beaker to get in is kinda hard. Other than that this game could be very addicting if you fixed issues and improved things :)

Dot Blaster by Avi 2021-10-11T11:44:56Z

Sadly couldn't launch it, when installing it gives errors about wheel package. Other than that I cannot say much about your game, cause I didn't have possibility to play it.

Human Stackā„¢ by Minus 2021-10-05T22:01:04Z

@cedric86 @tomate-salat tbh, I made a big boo-boo there. Seems my whole genius logic to make it not count moving objects can be defeated by simply making object not move on another moving object. Most likely will provide fix for that in future :)

Human Stackā„¢ by Minus 2021-10-05T22:05:29Z

@robbzenone @threaded-lama-digital That actually was a mistake we considered changing, but decided to leave as is, sorry that it caused issues, one way to actually overcome it is to grab something and basically move other items to screen edges, it should respawn them when they fall out of screen. If we provide patch for game grass will be lowered :)

Keep talking, and Bob might not die by MakimoPL 2021-10-11T11:30:07Z

Most problematic is fact that even keeping voice very low is triggering bear, anything a little bit louder and game just ends. Other than that Game is fine, has interesting idea, however avalanche part that is supposed to be unstable here is kinda useless, when bear is instakill, and for me at least amounf of bears was huge, so avalanhce was not possible to trigger at all. I'd need to shout to microphone to trigger it, and shouting at games is not my thing.

LD50 — Delay the inevitable

Somnus by Stending 2022-04-09T12:00:00Z

Whole game is fun to play and allowing people to leave messages for next players seems like a good idea. Messages remind me alot of nicovideo.jp or souls. Last location is locked, so I was kinda there waiting for game to end. Anyway good idea with this game and seems like it might be worth to return to it later to see new messages.

Entropy Rally by smbe19 2022-04-09T12:21:05Z

Sadly either there's something really wrong with game and it is not working as intended or there's not enough players to test this game. That is sadly the reason why I cannot give this good ratings right now. I will try again later, but for now due to lack of players or just game not working properly I am giving quite low rating.

Creating a room seems to just create an empty room below button, which player has to join. After room is filled and ready to play game should start, but for me all I saw was white screen. Same goes for spectating others game.

Suggestions: - Add random entrance to random room (thus giving people chance to just enter game and play it) - Add some kind of AI/bot to play with players, so even if there's nobody online to play people still could try the game - Clarify creating a room and joing a room - Fix other potential issues that are making it impossible to play.

THere's not much games that are multiplayer, so I was really hoping to see this one work.

Those Along The Way by egawag 2022-04-09T12:40:20Z

Very interesting entry, that's for sure. Your game has not much in terms of gameplay and is not a game you're going to return, but it makes people stop for the moment and just think about their lives, their memories, people they met, and people that helped them along the way. It made me think about few people I've met during my life. It made me remember some things, be it happy or not. Music is really good. It makes mood in your "interactive story" really good. Also idea to visualize that everyone we meet during our life become part of us. No matter if they are still alive or not, our memories of them are still alive. This is so far best entry in terms of story. Thank you for making that during this Ludum Dare.

LD50.exe by Antsa 2022-04-09T13:50:01Z

Couldn't test due to not having working linux machine right now. Wanted to compile for windows, but code is not suitable for porting. It references linux code everywhere and works based on getting environment variables from Linux. Also memory managements was an issue, got it to compile and launch, but would need to rewrite alot of directory things to get it work properly. @antsa if I manage to port it tho, I'll send compiled version here.

LD50.exe by Antsa 2022-04-09T23:26:52Z

@antsa Got it to work. **It requires Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable 2019 available here**: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/cpp/windows/latest-supported-vc-redist?view=msvc-170

Link below will have two archives available as soon as I upload them. Release.zip contains built game that **should** run properly if people have redistributable available. Other one will contain whole project adjusted to Microsoft Visual C++ Compiler with Visual Studio 2019 project files. I didn't try to get it to work with MinGW (which is windows port of GNU GCC). I also didn't really fix memory leaks and other stuff I just did what was necessary to launch your game on windows. Have fun, and please upload at least Release.zip somewhere else, cause I cannot guarantee my link will be available longer than one week.

Popiel Defense by Minus 2022-04-09T11:50:01Z

@uinelj There's pretty much no balance. We've been testing it in last 20-30 minutes if it is even working, so yeah. It might be too easy or too hard. But thanks for comment :D

Popiel Defense by Minus 2022-04-09T23:40:48Z

@skleembof to be honest if we had not have so much issues during working on it, and maybe better balanced team (where most of logic of the game was done purely by me) then it might've looked a lot different. I do however plan to at least rework this game from scratch, since I feel like it might be worth to do so after voting ends. Trust me, what you see here is about 20-25% of our ideas for this game.

@hungrycatgames Yeah, we didn't have enough time for testing, and camera controls are all messed up (not only these, game logic is messed up, difficulty is just oh, you got there? Then die.") So this needs a lot more work than might seem from how it works currently. But we did learn a few new things. And I think that is best outcome from participating in Ludum Dare. We always try to give ourselves a little bit more challenging task during LD, so we can check how our skills improve over time :D

Popiel Defense by Minus 2022-04-14T00:04:27Z

@tomatoomelet iirc we implemented cancelling of placement by pressing escape key, not sure if it is working tho and cannot currently check. If you can, please check and send us information back if that is indeed working properly.

Popiel Defense by Minus 2022-04-25T07:47:59Z

@bloodycoin Thanks for your feedback. In general this version is pretty much one giant bugged mess. Camera was not properly tested, there is basically no balance, some information is not communicated clearly. As of some issues: - you can cancel building by pressing escape (alright, maybe for everyone else escape is not obvious as some way of cancelling buildings and we didn't add it to description) - UI is indeed not masking mouse, so you can click through it - No information for player about tower stats and their range, also there's no upgrading of towers, which was planned, but due to limited time and first try at tower defense game we just had to skip alot of ideas.

Anyway, if we release proper version of the game it will be linked also here. Most of the issues you noted we are aware of, only camera one is something new... We used cinemachine and it seems orbits are set incorrectly and will allow camera to reach under terrain (maybe camera collider went missing).

Dinosurvivor by YukimiItsuka 2022-04-07T11:29:12Z

Fun game, at first I was killed by one tactical meteor spawning, but after some training I got quite far. Easy concept, well executed. Not demanding from player, at first, but later parts are becoming much harder when more and more meteors are spawning. Fun idea with dinosaurs shooting fireballs and lasers at meteors.

Keep It Steaming by Jvdwijk 2022-04-07T10:42:04Z

Quite nice and fun game, days are passing, you keep it steaming. Everything is fine, and suddenly boom, you need to add coal, let steam flow properly, patch up hole and fix electrical things. At once. Good thing, and can keep someone playing for hours trying to get to yet another day.

Small issues I noticed would be with: - marker that something need attention sometimes stayed on for me (coal minigame, not sure why, cannot find out why this happens) - electrical minigame could get with slightly oversized colliders for detecting mouse, cause I ended up often missing by few pixels, but that also is something players can just adjust and train to aim better at proper elements.

Game is quite fun and seems finished, no major issues are jumping out at me.

Prestidigitaxation by TomatoLamp 2022-04-07T10:12:57Z

Gameplay seems fun enough to spend some time playing this game. I feel like if I had enough free time I could spend alot of it with this game. Graphics are looking good, maybe a little bit too basic and lacking in post processing, but this also makes it have quite interesting look. Magic "bullets" kinda lose their target sometimes and are not able to refocus on other one, thus making them stay in one place and doing some weird circles. Other than that, game is fun to play and has pretty much no major issues.

It's gonna be ok. by MarcoDeevil 2022-04-07T10:33:09Z

Fun and simple game, amount of words causing bar to go down is kinda high, I know the theme is delay the inevitable, but would be fine addition to allow people slightly overcome the bar without causing fire on keyboard from all the space strokes.

Clockwork by Olsie 2022-04-09T12:12:31Z

Quite fun game and follows theme well. Everything seems to work fine. As of suggestions for improving this game: - add visual feedback when mouse is over button and when clicked (after clicking play game has some kind of delay, and I was thinking it froze) - maybe add more level layouts, cause after some time that one map might get not too challenging. - add ingame menu cause right now there's no other way to exit than to wait for current "round" to end.

But in general no major issues, maybe some sprites are soft due to bilinear filtering, but whole game is fun to play.

Abandon Ship by SpaceyLake 2022-04-07T10:27:12Z

Fun game to play, but not really balanced. Graphics looks fine and idea with killing enemies and then fixing up your ship is good. Problems arise with balancing of everything, I couldn't get more than 2-3 minutes of playtime, because enemies were spawning way too quickly and causing damage to my ship. I was unable to run from one side to the other and keep ship not damaged and oxygen level intact. Some balancing so playthrough would last much longer would be fine fix for the game overall. Suggestions for potential future improvements: - Add some kind of tech upgrade, maybe better weapons, faster fixing, more durability for ship, better oxygen holding capabilities - let enemies evolve slowly over time (firstly enemies are much weaker, causing a lot less damage) - experiment with adding some kind of cooperative mode, local or network multiplayer would be fine addition for this game.

The Boar by SergioPoverony 2022-04-09T12:44:10Z

Graphics look good, game is fun and silly, but that makes it a lot better. Goats are bullying my boar, we need some way to protect ourselves! :P

Sinking Ship by Ines Brezavscek 2022-04-09T12:59:35Z

Quite fun game, might get interesting if you rework it to something like cookie clicker. Just imagine, automatic plank distributors, nail drivers (also know as hammers), additional crew trying to patch up ship :D

There's a lot possibility to make this game really fun to play after Ludum Dare.

LD59 — Signal

Blazing Brave Hyperion M by abcdef65g 2026-04-29T10:22:40Z

Whole game idea is fun and something "fresh" I'd say. From technical point of view I'd say game needs especially some fixes with enemies. Seems like opening (or rather enlarging) mecha vs godzilla fight screen does not impact performance, but amount of enemies on screen does. Not sure why it suffers so much performance hit with what seems like maybe 10 or 15 enemies on screen.

As for other stuff, I'm not a designer, but gameplay could be improved slightly by making minion enemies appear in more like waves maybe, giving player more time to actually switch to mecha and do some commands. Defence command could've lasted longer (for me it seemed like it was active for maybe a second).

Visually game looks good, only small tweaks to animations needed.

Overall quite good entry and good starting point for something bigger ( •̀ ω •́ )✧

Uplink by thormoth 2026-04-23T16:40:14Z

The game seems to be quite fun, artstyle is clean and quite coherent, whole jamming situation is a good idea to execute theme, however in general game really fast becomes repeatetive and after just 5-6 packets sent if you had enough luck to get increased fire rate and reduction of damage you are almost unstoppable. Audio is okay, but music could be a little bit more interesting. Overall quite good game idea, possibly worthy of continuing development and exploring how far you can get it :)

Alien Delivery Service by Minus 2026-04-21T17:37:28Z

NEW PATCH RELEASED:

We have fixed following bugs, since these functions broke right before submitting: - fixed an issue with teleporting to ladder - fixed an issue with random orders not appearing

Alien Delivery Service by Minus 2026-04-27T13:37:01Z

@bobap I had this issue during development with terminal not responding, but believed I fixed it already. We're considering doing proper "final Ludum Dare" version which will implement everything we didn't do. We might even consider turning this... something into a proper game. As for inputs - as long as you are within ladder trigger it should register clicking E regardless if prompt is shown or not - most likely game was overriding whatver interactable thing was in range and was unable to properly interract with ladder.

To everyone who commented so far thank you very much, I'm personally trying to note every issue and suggestion you mention, so we can improve in future.

Human Signal by denikk 2026-04-23T17:06:52Z

For technical stuff - everything seems fine, game works, maybe it crashed once, especially if you are too quick to click finish testing. Other than that game seemed a little bit too easy. Memorising 3 items is quite simple task, only "hard" part is to guess most "humane" way to deal with situation, but even that, with some most common sense wouldn't be that hard. In general the game works, is finished enough, has end goal and player can reach it, thus overall it's quite good for solo project. In future you can work more on graphics, introducing more coherent UI which would suit the game artstyle.

For solo project it's not bad and there's just room for improvement. Keep it up and gain more experience, because the basics are there, you just need to polish them a little bit :)

DSP Tuner by pyroxdd 2026-04-21T10:53:38Z

Sadly, your project refuse to load on browsers I have installed on my PC, that's why I can't provide any useful feedback or proper ratings.

Tested browsers: - chromium based (Chrome, Edge) - not loading, black screen - pale moon - not finishing loading, freezes iframe (pale moon weirdness - it launches in separate window)
