Nice art, game mechanics are simple but elegant. Fx and audio fit well with the game mood but they are quite repetitive. I would like bonus item to boost dinosaurs power :)

Great entry, it is a bit repetitive with some time playing. Controls are nice and game mechanics is intuitive. I think more types of dinossaurs should increase fun. Graphics are very nice. Congratulations
It's really great idea for the theme. It's satisfying when you survive a little gap between the fireballs. I enjoyed getting 749670 score!
It was all fun and games until the BIG astroids came. Nice are, boppin music. I'd prefer the game to spike in difficulty a little sooner as it seems like a mindless never ending game, but after about 5 minutes the difficulty did ramp up. Nice submission!

I agree with the other commentors that it gets repetitive quite quickly, I was also confused that the meteors hitting earth didn't have immediate negative effects. Some more variety and level progression would make this game even more exciting :smile:
The game loop is really solid and combined with the nice paper-like asthetics it rounds up the experience quite well. Trying to balance the protection of the eggs while making sure that the dinosaurs themselves dont die is fun! Well done.
I love the artstyle and the overall theme. It's such so cute, I love it. Adorable. At the end I had 1 egg left but no dinosaurs so I had to wait until it hatched to continue playing. Maybe stop the game when only eggs are left or let them hatch immediately.
But overall great game :)
Theme is on point. Controls & Gameplay is easy to understand and I really like the cute dinosaurs^^ overall a very good entry :slight_smile:

Nice concept! It's easy to understand, and provides an interesting challenge. The eggs are easy to lose, and I don't know if they appear with a timer, or based on certain actions. It was quite fun to play overall!
@itooh We used logistic formula to control the laying process and K is set to 20 so the number of little dinos will not exceed 20. We used simple Monte Carlo algorithm to simulate it and it appears to be very unstable that sometimes the little dinos lay 3 eggs in 5 seconds and other times they do not want to lay any egg for minutes :|
Love the art, music does not fit the game at all. Gameplay is simple but fun, it seems that the asteroids do nothing to the planet so there is no point in shooting the asteroids you can just dodge, I made it around 5 minutes, good job.
Easy and good concept, nice animations and neat colors! Great job!
The itch.io display is veeeery big though.
Such a cool game. The artwork is really cute and I had a blast during my 3 tries. I could agree that the difficulty could get harder sooner. At some point it did feel repetitive. But I still enjoyed watching everything going down. On my last try I followed a strict A+Space rule, in that I just pressed A and Space constantly during all the game. In the previous games it seemed that I never can run where I needed to be anyway so I tried to just keep running and shooting. That beat my personal best and ended with me being 10th in the highscore. Not sure how to prevent this, but I just wanted to share this tactic.

I'm totally in love by this game! I'm a total fan of cute characters with humor. With a very simple art direction, you guys nailed it! I've played and entered in 9th place on the ranking in my first attemptive just because i was liking it a lot and didn't want to lose. It's a simple concept of gameplay, but i loved how you guys increase difficulty in the gameplay after sometime, and how easy is to understand the game systems of it. It's easily the best game i've player from LDJam50 so far. I really like the SFX of the gameplay, but i don't think i love so much the soundtrack. Also the sound of the main menu could be more aligned with the rest of the proposal of the game. And the main menu cold have a little bit more color, as the earth in the game (you did such a great job with those graphics, so PLEASE use in everything you can!)
That's it. I loved it. A very very great game. Please submit your game to Newgrounds! I know that will be a huge success.
This was so much fun! The art was so charming, and the gameplay felt so unique but instantly easy to pick up. I really liked the way projectiles spawned slow and then sped up as they went outward. Probably wasn't necessary, but just adds a level of character to the game. That speed up also made it quite pretty to just spin the dinos in circles holding shoot, got some pretty cool patterns!
Only feedback I have for you guys is that maybe the collision detection on the meteors was a little off? Sometimes I felt like I should have hit some that I didn't.

The art is sooo cute, I love it. Iwish I could get a bit more time to react to the meteors, especially on the top and bottom, I just let them hit the earth because it wasn't worth risking it. The hitbox might be a bit off too, since sometimes they would get destroyed in 1 hit and other times it would seem like they took 3 to 4 hits.
I really like this game though, it's cute, charming and I liked the mechanic of running around firing out to destroy the space rocks. Very fun experience!

Loved it! Very good graphics. Gameplay felt nice too and was fun.
Difficulty rampup could be a bit faster in the beginning. Also I would have loved to see the meteors coming a bit earlier, especially from up and down.

Fun game, at first I was killed by one tactical meteor spawning, but after some training I got quite far. Easy concept,well executed. Not demanding from player, at first, but later parts are becoming much harder when more and more meteors are spawning. Fun idea with dinosaurs shooting fireballs and lasers at meteors.
Adorable art style!! The atmosphere created with the music was also really nicely balanced out with the design. Had a ton of fun playing and was able to get up to 7:30~ in the end. The idea of having to defend eggs to get more attackers was really cool. Love the game!
Gotta love the little tippy tappy feet and the vibrant colors. Very stylish game! I agree with the other comments that the difficulty curve should ramp up a bit earlier. I played this game and I loved almost everything. The only thing I would add is a timer for egg hatch, so that I could strategically place my dino army, now it feels like they're random.
Cute game y'all! I found that I could do pretty well just hanging out and not really moving... that is until those nasty side-splitting meteors showed up. And then the strong sidesplitters. Filled my whole dang screen! Nice work!
I am absolutely delighted! I played for 20 minutes non-stop.. mostly I lost, of course, but I had fun! I was so happy when the laser baby hatched, I felt like I had already won with it! Very nice game, simple graphics, but it is incredibly cute, and how fast the dinosaurs move their legs, I was touched and laughed at!!! The music is not intrusive but a little annoying and it's cool! The idea is great, I really like it. Huge plus dinosaurs, I love them!🦖

Found a trick that, once you managed to put dinosaurs all together, you will become nearly invincible! At least I didn't feel any pressure after around 7 minutes. (F* the inevitable!)

Absolutely love the visuals, the dinosaurs are adorable and the whole game has a really cohesive style. I like the feeling of controlling all the dinosaurs at once and trying to build up to as many as you can a lot. For my personal tastes I wish the game got harder faster, I really enjoyed it once the spawns started to pick up but the beginning of each run seemed a little slow. I had a fun time playing, great job!
The music was great, tho i think the sound effects can be lowered in frequency. The visuals were great, love the concept of extinction, really enjoyed blasting them rocks.
The circular movement is pretty neat, but you move so slowly there isn't much time to react to anything, and since there's no penalty for the meteors hitting the planet there's not much incentive to do anything other than dodge. Absolutely love the art style, I think this is easily one of the best looking games in the jam.
Fun little planet defender. I like how you took the theme into account not only with the mechanics but the setting as well. The bombardment ramped up a ton right around the 8 minute mark and I lost almost everyone, but still lasted another 30 seconds or so with my last laser dino. I managed to get a bit of time variance in the shots when I was holding down space while new dinos spawned in, and I found I missed that when I eventually let up and they afterwards resumed shooting in unison. Art and music gave it all a cohesive vibe and made the game feel like a complete experience. Nicely done!
i like the graphics and concept a lot!
i didn't survive that long relative to other players, but that's partially because i realized after a minute that i can mostly just stand still and hold down space, and my engagement dropped a lot.
for gameplay / fun factor, i feel like it only became interesting when the big boulders that split into smaller boulders started flying in. otherwise, i just kept my dinos bunched up to make a decently wide spread, and mostly stayed in one place holding down spacebar. so i was basically really bored for the first few minutes of play.
also, for holding down space bar, it felt like a chore, since there's basically no downside to not holding it down. if there were some kind of energy meter or a bigger cool down, it would provide more incentive to be strategic about it.
at once point i got a cute pink dino that fired laser beams. that was really nice and unexpected! but i think it happens to rarely, another big improvement would be a wider variety of dinos, and having different variations more frequently. but of course, only so much you can do in a game jam.
