amazing mood you set up, the first thunder scared the shit out of me (partially because it was very loud tho). I also like the pixelart.
The game got kind of tedious; i could not really progress. i guess you are supposed to be "stuck" but getting backstabbed the 5th time after walking that long way also killed my motivation to solve the case. also: random accusing the first dude i met, seems to have solved the case anyways
Great sense of atmosphere and a cool interpretation of the theme. Visuals and audio are fantastic. The plot was intriguing until I accidentally solved it on my first try, because I chose "accuse" instead of leave. On that note, I think it would be beneficial to leave the conversation dialogue with the escape key. Great work overall.
5* humor just for the lusty argonian maid reference alone ;) in all seriousness, fun game! Great ambiance and love the UI style in particular
I really liked this game, the only trouble was I didn't really find anything that would lead me to suspect the person who ended up being the killer; I actually accused them on accident and was surprised when it was right. I would just say add some more clues or make the clues you find point in their direction more, but other than that great job!
A good fun, murder mystery! I did manage to solve it by gathering clues and talking to people but I do feel like it could've been easily solved if you just accused the wrong people over and over again. I really liked the humour, especially the idea of an endless supply of detectives coming to this house to try and solve the previous ones murder! Overally, a great entry!
Now that's a game I wish I am the one created it. Beautiful art, fitting sound effects, and interesting story. The only thing I could say something about is polishing the investigation and finding the culprit mechanic.
Loved the dark atmosphere mixed with the little jokes! Great game overall, 5/5
The mood was fantastic, great work on this game! I do think as mentioned earlier the clues could be a little bit better, they didn't really lead to suspecting anyone.
That's a really good game so far, but I pressed on "show an item" and now i can't find a key to go back to the questioning. Am I missing something?
That should be escape, but since this was our first attempt with godot and without much experience we might have missed something, I'll check it properly and if there's an issue I'll send new build.
Good execution of the theme. Cool graphics and sounds. I hope you continue with the project, it was incredible. Congratulations.
Aaaa I just LOVE the thunders ! and the overall atmosphere was just great, good job!
I solved it by trying out all options first. but played a second time. The modd you set on this game is amazing. really feels like an old detective movie!
I liked your game my congratulations, I also did one if you want to know, and give me your feedback I am very grateful, this is the link https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/47/resurrection
The idea of all these detectives piling up is very funny but the hard cuts between screens makes it kind of difficult to work out what's going on. A lovely idea.
Neat! I like a good ol' fashion murder mystery! Really cool mood you have with this one, I especially like the artwork for the mansion. Great job all around!
Really liked the mood you set with the lightning and the rain. I did not reach the end in a legitimate way though, after 5 loops I just started to randomly accuse people and it worked. I love how you can interact with basically everything.
I am Surprised you joined two years ago..but participated in two game jam....dude should be taking part everytime...you are great.....
@jarvisp99 sometimes time issues can change plans, that's why I personally joined LD42 and now LD47. We just started in gamedev, we might consider joining next editions of Ludum Dare. Also thansk for your comment, we're not replying to every single comment to avoid spamming here, but read all of them, just because we want to know what people think about our little project, and what we can improve.
I was a bit confused at first you could've mentioned about press space to continue or something and could've added WASD movements. Overall I really loved the game, great art style and gameplay. Good Luck for future projects..
@abiral Thank you for feedback. Yes, we know, we should add some mentions like: "Press space to continue" or something, next time we do it better. Thank you for comment!
Hey nice job! I like the graphics and controls are nice! could you check out my game? :D
You have really set the atmosphere right. I loved the graphics! good job!
A really good game! The atmosphere is well done congratulation! One of my two favorites so far!
I like how you can interact with anything, the theme is well respected, the jokes ( a confortable chair and the less confortable chair made me chuckle)
I also like how the intrigue develop and you get the know more about the characters interactions!
However there is one black spot, i tried to accuse the buttler on the very first interaction and.. well you know what happened, i did not wanted to arrest him! If the button was called "arrest" or if the buttler was away from the door, i would not have "ruined" the experience.
But it still worked fine because i wanted to know why he did it! So good job!
fun graphics and nice sounds. really love walk animation)
I like the concept of having the detective to also be the victim, if that's what was intended. I hope the loop was more of a story element though since it looks like it's just a gimmick?
Really awesome game! Loved the lightning effect, music is on point, and dig the murder mystery theme. Losing is a little bit confusing though -- I was inspecting the stove in the kitchen and at first I thought I ran into a bug (the screen went black except for a piece of the right-hand side of teh screen, then I was back at the beginning)
@maychant the looping was supposed to play a bigger role in the whole story but the time constraints prevented us from fully exploring it. Although, there is a bit that is affected for the eagle-eyed.
@gwailofi we actually missed that this blackout screen wasn't properly filling screen when you resize window, it was done almost as last feature not long before end of jam.
Good job making that game! It felt tense the whole time I played (the thunder may have helped). I especially love how the detectives just come over one after the other and you gradually get a better idea of what happened.
Good feeling of the picture by the artist, not a bad idea, in general everything is fine, good luck!
Nice job, that audio really helps sell the mood of the game, I enjoyed this!
The real detective is very original. Atmospheric. And the thunder made me flinch!
nice game and really good pixel animation
the ambient audio was realy good. art was good aswell.
pollishhedddd
really fun game! The atmosphere in particular is spot on.
Ok... you really set a great mood here. I couldn't figure out why my characters kept restarting, then I started piecing it together! Really cool concept - could really be expanded into something better!
Loved the atmosphere and the added mystery of the detectives being murdered. However after the 7th time, I just randomly accused the butler and won without totally understanding how the clues came together. Despite that, I played this longer than any of the other entries because it had me intrigued. :) Great entry!
