LD38 — A Small World

STEEL GEAR CHAOS by FireSlash 2017-05-02T11:23:59Z

Really nice idea. Took me a minute to figure out the strategy. Then I realised I could just place a lure next to me and set up an attack on that same spot. The enemies line up and I kill the nearest one, then I just repeat that until they are all dead. I dunno if this was the intended winning stategy but it felt a bit easy. I'm not sure how you calculate the ranks, some I got A or S rank and some I got D, not really sure why. I like the concept a lot though, and the visuals and audio were very well done. Nice work!

Cardboard Cats Online by Ilseroth 2017-05-02T07:49:21Z

It also says server offline for me, sad cause I wanted to try it out. Hopefully I will get to play in the future!

(Un)Happy by pcmaster 2017-04-26T21:05:26Z

I like this! It's a very cute concept, and the visuals and music complement it well. The way each little planet has its own gravity is really nice. I think you could add a timer or something, so that you get a score based on how quickly you deliver everyone to their planet, if you wanted to go in a more gamey direction. Nice work!

Global Disaster by Jamesy012 2017-05-02T11:01:41Z

That was a fun little game, I like how it makes you prioritise which disasters to avert. Nice work!

Gaia by PowerSpark 2017-05-01T09:57:22Z

I like this, it's a great puzzle game. It made me think. And you crammed a good number of levels in there too! I think the objective could be hinted a bit more. Something as simple as making the movable object and the target object visually relate to each other in some way. Having to figure it out didn't really feel like a puzzle so much as a lack of communication. But the actual core puzzle element of figuring out how to use the clouds quickly and efficiently was really well thought out. On that note though, I did find it annoying that the action button sometimes didn't respond. If that was a feature you inculded deliberately to make the puzzle more challenging, it doesn't communicate that to me as a player, it just feels like bad controls. I eventually figured out that I had to wait for a second before using it again, but it frustrated me early on in the experience. But those small issues aside I really like the game, the music and visual style are pleasant and I like how contained and simple it all is. Really nice work :)

Corgo-a-gogo by nickavv 2017-05-02T13:05:34Z

That was very cute. The physics need some work though. I got stuck sliding up the side of the first pillar I tried to jump on. Other than that though I enjoyed it. The corgis had very amusing attitudes :)

Icarus Isolation by King Kujito 2017-05-01T10:28:44Z

Interesting game, the visuals are very nice and I like being able to fly around. I think the glowing effects were a bit overdone and made it hard to see sometimes. And as people have mentioned the controls were a bit hard to grapple with altough I did get the hand of it eventually. There seems to be a bug where I died and then my character was rotated wrong and I was stuck in some kind of infinite death-loop. But I think with a bit more time and refinement this could be a really cool experience!

A Tower in the Mists by sorlok 2017-05-02T04:11:33Z

Intriguing story, I like the writing style. If I understood the combat system, you're just supposed to guess what the attack type the opponent is going to choose? It felt pretty much down to chance and not so much strategy, unless there is something I missed. Pretty cool idea though :)

Memory:Leak by Alex Lutay 2017-05-01T08:11:32Z

I really like this game. I think the game's biggest flaw is that it's very confusing to begin with. I see that you tried to introduce the player to the various elements in the earlier levels, but I don't think it was very effective. When I reached the first serious level I almost abandoned it due to just dying repeatedly and not knowing why. Also, I found myself sometimes trying to remind myself what each tile type did, but unable to see the descriptions due to the warning messages "need more gold" etc. I would make the description of what each tile type does available at all times. I'm glad I stuck with it though because once I understood the system, I thought the game was really great. The trial and error in figuring out how to balance gold production and population, and where to place the altars strategically was a rewarding experience that forced me to actually consider my choices. I think the graphics and audio are clean and pleasant and lend themselves well to the mood. Great work overall!

Terraform by ijzm 2017-05-02T07:28:27Z

I played the game for a while and it was clear that I was under no real threat of losing and could probably play it infinitely without any sense of urgency. I think if I were to make this game I would focus on the core gameplay mechanics first, to make sure it was engaging, even if the graphics were just coloured squares. For example, making the monsters have a bit more of an impact, because in their current state they are kind of irrelevent, once you have built a few buildings they can't reach you, and there's no real indication of them doing damage to the buildings. As has been mentioned above, the purpose of building wasn't really made clear, and the day counter didn't work. I also think it would be better to make the collider of the buildings only apply to the base of the building, so that you can kind of walk around the back of the houses. The visuals are great, everything is clear and looks like what it's supposed to be, the music and sound effect are good too. I just wish that the substance of the gameplay had been given more attention, the ideas are all there but just needed a bit more thorough execution. Overall pretty nice work!

DNAPet by Yirggzmb 2017-05-02T05:00:00Z

Well this was kinda funny. I grew quite attached to my cat-dog-gator, the noise of him running in the wheel started to drive me a bit crazy though. I think some kind of goal would be nice for this game but its a good starting point :)

Binary Glitch by JOrbits 2017-05-01T08:57:07Z

Good solid game, simple but enjoyable. I like how you have to avoid the impact from your own shots and the fact that you can't stop moving makes it quite intense. I managed to get a score of 1200 on my third try :)

Caturday is today by DemyHallar 2017-05-01T12:49:12Z

This is a cute game and actually very humorous. The visual style is excellent. In the music I think there is some clipping or some kind of harsh sound that grates on my ears. But other than that I found it enjoyable :)

D4RK and the Small Worlds by abhimonk 2017-05-02T03:46:30Z

I like this but the difficulty is just too ridiculous, I eventually gave up which is a shame because I did enjoy the game as far as I played. I think you need to make it less punishing. But the sense of humour is A++ and I like the simple monochrome visuals, the audio is nice too!

Super Collapse Guy by crazi456 2017-05-01T09:34:46Z

Congratulations me! I done it! lol this game is so freaking cool and has such potential. The last level was a good challenge. The minimalistic visuals have their own kind of charm. Of course the game mechanic here is the star of the show and you managed to make a few good levels to show it off, so great work in such a short space of time.

You Are World. by amras0000 2017-05-01T10:16:30Z

Very nice work. As a game I found it a little confusing but as an experience it was certainly interesting. It is memorable and leaves an impression!

Dr. M Little's Planet Mass Overdrive by slimabob 2017-05-01T08:49:39Z

Very cool game, the controls worked well apart from it being a little frustrating having to click and hold repeatedly just to move a few inches lol. But the concept was executed very well, I didn't really get it until after the first time I died, but when I did die there was at least a very clear explanation as to why I died, and I beat the game on the second try. I love the dialogue it was really funny. Great work :)

Ninja-Vu by doomshmuck 2017-05-02T03:23:48Z

I found this to be a pretty good stealth challenge, it required some trial and error to beat it. I think the visual style could be more appealing but it was easy to understand. Did you make the music yourself?

E.(a)T. by BrothersT 2017-05-02T04:48:48Z

Great little game, I felt that the collider for the kick and eating action could be a little more forgiving and as mentioned above, a low health warning would be appreciated but overall I really enjoyed it, its a fun concept, nice visual style and cute music, good work!

LD38 - Big Dreams by Iron Leonem 2017-05-02T12:55:29Z

Now I know how the dinosaurs became extinct: I wiped them out with a nerf gun mwahahaha. That was a fun little game, the nerf gun did seem to have trouble hitting multiple enemies that were close to each other, but other than that it plays very nicely. Cool use of physics on the ball weapon. The visuals were very nice. I think the musical arrangement could be a bit more coherent but the tone was appropriately cute for the setting. Nice work!

A World In Her Eye by OrbitalBlueprint 2017-05-01T13:37:32Z

Wow, this game is so charming! I love the premise and the whole little story, and how the movement of the passing planet is woven into it. A minor bug is that when clicking on the ladder, sometimes I had to click it twice for some reason before it would work. Other than that, really great game!

Paper Jam! by danhett 2017-05-01T06:25:11Z

The hand-drawn aesthetic is really cool, the game is challenging and the audio fits nicely. Good work!

Flurpies by Gumboot 2017-04-26T18:55:31Z

I adore this, I can see the thought and effort that went into it. The gameplay is simple but satisfying. The music and art are so pleasant. I was excited to find out how my Flurpie would evolve! I also liked how new food becomes avilable the more you play. Great stuff!

Pale Blue Dot by SneakyDeagle 2017-05-02T05:09:53Z

This was a novel experience, not a lot to talk about in terms of gameplay but a nice visual accompaniment to the Carl Sagan monologue, pretty atmoshperic!

No Minor Task: Party of a Lifetime by XAVIER_INDIE_GAMEDEV 2017-05-01T09:22:00Z

This game is pretty hilarious, definitely 5 stars for humour. Maybe I was too dumb to learn the enemy movement patterns but I figured out you just have to keep sprinting when you hear the warning sound, and not get stuck on environment objects lol. Pretty simple but fun game, great sense of humour, nice music too. Good work!

Dr. Zorongo by Zorongo 2017-05-01T11:45:39Z

I agree with @jaimuepe, I think it's unfair that sometimes the rats hit you as soon as you enter the room and you can't really defend yourself. Still, overall it plays pretty nicely and it's also very funny to play as a poop. Nice graphics and music :)

Snail Fighter by Marccio Silva 2017-05-03T10:08:04Z

Pretty cool game, I like how your bullets come back around. I think you could have made it a bit easier to kill the enemies, but other than that it plays very nicely. I like the little dialogues going on at the bottom of the screen too, nice touch :)

WIP: World In Progress by JEJoll 2017-05-01T08:37:23Z

I like the idea and it looks great visually, however the controls were very difficult. I found it virtually impossible to target myself at a smaller planet, and every time I got close a big planet would come and wipe me out. Also the explosion graphics lagged my browser lol. The sound effects were really good but the background music wasn't very appealing. Overall I think this game needs a lot of work to do the idea justice, but it's a good effort for the time available :)

Diminishing Lands by drazil100 2017-05-01T05:10:02Z

Really nice concept, difficult but fun. It's quite a challenge to anticipate how the map is going to change. I like the music too! Good work :)

A Growing Adventure by frankiesmileshow 2017-05-02T10:40:58Z

I liked this, but it got very repetitive. I cleared the whole map and couldn't beat the final boss. There were no enemies left to kill so I couldn't gain gold or experience. I found this frankly very annoying. I only have myself to blame for wanting to complete it I guess. That aside, the game idea is great, and the amount of art is very impressive. I found it addictive to play, so good work!

...claustroful... by David W 2017-04-26T20:59:24Z

This game is really challenging (for me) but a very cool idea, nice work!

Universal Journey by mundell 2017-05-01T11:39:15Z

Super cool take on the planets theme, it's really interesting to see gravity used in this way. I thought the stable orbit level was an unbeatable level put in there as a joke, until I eventually figured out the technique and beat it lol. Visuals and audio were great too, nice work!

SUN GOD by palemachine 2017-05-02T18:54:34Z

I beat the game eventually, but it felt like luck, based on where the planets were positioned. I think it would need some more work to feel like a fair game. But the concept is really cool, racing against the shrinking universe and trying to judge which planets you can get enough followers from before they disappear. The music was pretty cool and the visuals were effective. Nice work overall!

KeyPuppers by AntaresValdemar 2017-04-26T00:06:40Z

@venny Thanks for the comment! That's a good point, I wanted the player to repair the keys actively which is why that mechanic exists, and the potential is there for other abilities to be used on the selected keys, but in this version I guess the shift thing is kind of redundant :)

@jejoll Thank you! Originally I had planned to have a function where you could hold two keys and build a bridge between them by pressing another function key, but had to simplify the idea :)

KeyPuppers by AntaresValdemar 2017-04-26T00:38:32Z

@xxdoombox yeah I really wanted to put more mechanics in but just ran out of time lol, glad you liked it though, thanks for playing!

KeyPuppers by AntaresValdemar 2017-04-26T20:17:33Z

@fouralex OMG I didn't even consider different keyboard layouts...if you managed to play it I congratulate you haha!

KeyPuppers by AntaresValdemar 2017-04-26T23:53:49Z

@king-kujito Thanks for playing, I'm glad you enjoyed it despite the difficulty :)

@amras0000 Thanks very much for your critique. You're not alone in wanting to repair multiple keys at once it seems. I will try it out and see how it plays :) As for the shift key, it was kinda obsolete in this version but I'm planning to add more abilities triggered by other keys, so it will make more sense in future versions (hopefully). Thanks for playing, and for your suggestions, I'm glad you liked the game overall! :)

KeyPuppers by AntaresValdemar 2017-05-01T04:59:16Z

@drazil100 Late reply here but thanks very much for your feedback, I'm glad you liked the game and it was fun watching you play it!

KeyPuppers by AntaresValdemar 2017-05-01T08:16:36Z

@danman9914 Did you read the tutorial? You have to hold a key and press shift at the same time to repair the key! :)

KeyPuppers by AntaresValdemar 2017-05-01T10:33:44Z

@xavier-indie-gamedev You're totally right, the balance for being able to repair keys is not really there. It's hard to get back on track once they start falling. If I had more time I would focus on getting the balance right but I had to upload what I had lol. Still I'm glad you enjoyed it!

KeyPuppers by AntaresValdemar 2017-05-02T07:40:10Z

@random-storykeeper Thanks very much for your in-depth feedback. I think everything you said is true. More variety in the movement of the puppers would take the game to a higher level. And making the freeze power also halt the spawning was something I also considered but didn't get round to implementing. I didn't have in mind to make this a typing game (I hadn't even heard the term before to be honest) I just went with an idea I knew I could program (I'm still a novice in programming). Having said that I could definitely change the mechanic to something other than just puppers moving across the board in a wave, it would be a totally different game though I imagine. As for the shift key, I did plan to add other abilities in addition to the repair function which would be applied with other keys, which is why that mechanic exists. I could have taken it out for this version but by the time I realised, I was too afraid of breaking everything lol. Anyway thanks for playing!

Den by La mecanique du plastique 2017-05-01T13:03:34Z

Very unusual game. Once I figured out the final puzzle I appreciated it more. Beautiful design and atmosphere. The music is suitably eerie as well. Great work!

World of My Own by kantieno 2017-05-02T08:16:49Z

Really solid entry. Everything is simple, but you have a nice variety of enemies, materials to collect, equipment, rooms etc. There are a couple of minor bugs, one is that the gun sometimes gets stuck on fire when you transition between rooms. The other is that I occasionally would get stuck in the corner of the room for no apparent reason. But apart from that I can't fault this, it was simple but enjoyable. Nice work!

Floraison by Iwa 2017-05-01T13:15:10Z

Visually this looks gorgeous, the aesthetic and the animation are top-notch and the sound is very nice as well. The gameplay I felt could have been more interesting, but what there is felt very smooth. I wish I could slow down the movement speed as it made me a bit dizzy but that's a very minor complaint. Overall this is very nice work :)

LD39 — Running out of Power

Last Job by ALeal_Dev 2017-08-06T16:00:32Z

Really fun idea, it looks great too and the sounds were funny. Nice variety added by the powerups. Minor complaint would be that the character would often slip past the door I was trying to aim for. I'm not sure if this was intentional but I think the game was difficult enough already, so the interaction between the player and the doors could have been tightened up and it would still be fun I think. All in all great work, the game is fun and addictive :)

firefox_2017-08-06_16-55-34.png

Firepower by akai_0okami 2017-08-06T17:44:00Z

Nice game. It forced me to think about how to best use my power, for the jetpack or the flamethrower, and on which enemies. The last level especially took me a good few tries to figure out. The graphics aren't a strong point particularly but they do the job. The strength is definitely in the idea and the puzzle element. Good job!

Musk Hunter by LandoSystems 2017-08-02T16:15:36Z

I'm not sure why but I seem unable to shoot either with left click or enter. :(

Musk Hunter by LandoSystems 2017-08-02T16:50:21Z

@landosystems sorry I was just being dumb. It all makes sense to me now. The whole thing is really fun and well thought-out. It was pretty satisfying upgrading the different stats and abilities. The triple-bulet shots from enemies were pretty tough to dodge. It was hilarious when he got in the spaceship and the ending with the girlfriend car was cute. Awesome work!

Mr Mayor's Energy Crisis by HuvaaKoodia 2017-08-02T22:19:52Z

That was pretty difficult, took me a good few tries to beat it! I think everything about this is awesome. The visuals, the gameplay and the music all work great together. The humour is great and complements the gameplay. And it totally fits the theme. It took me a few tries to figure out how the game was supposed to work. So my only suggestion for improvement would be to make it a bit clearer, if possible. But other than that I can't fault it, awesome work!

The Trash Bin That Could by mathijs750 2017-08-06T19:11:22Z

Nice use of stealth elements, had me reminiscing about Metal Gear Solid. I think there are some issues; I ran out of power and then respawned right in view of the cameras. Besides that though, I enjoyed it, entertaining stuff!

Wind, Sun and Power by concalf 2017-08-06T18:30:51Z

Nice pleasant game! I like the concept and I think it has potential, although I feel you could have capitalised more on the puzzle element to add to the challenge. As others have mentioned, I think a player could complete the game eventually even with no strategy whatsoever. Some kind of audio would also help it a lot but overall great idea, nice work!

⚡ Swing Bolt ⚡ by AJ Weeks 2017-08-02T14:18:06Z

Very nice work, I haven't seen many games utilise that kind of swinging physics for a weapon before. 39 seconds was my best score. It seems to get overwhelming pretty quickly, but it plays vey nicely, the visuals and music are cool too, I enjoyed it!

Runner Out Of Power by Mathiouza 2017-08-01T16:49:56Z

Nice simple idea executed pretty well! The music is enjoyable. The first few levels weren't too bad, once I memorized the sequence. I gave up on the brown level after 30 tries lol.

Ghost in the Machine by bmacintosh 2017-08-06T19:53:24Z

Awesome game, I had to play it on my own so it probably didn't feel as great as it would with two people, but it was still enjoyable. I don't really have any criticism, it's very high quality and everything seems to work as it should. I'm not very bright so for a while I was frustrated trying to find out how to get the batteries back from the blue robot once I had given them to him. You might want to consider making that more obvious, just so it's idiotproof. Or perhaps not :) In any case, great work!

Star Power by Simon Millard 2017-08-02T22:38:08Z

Very cool game, I love the visuals, audio and general atmosphere. I didn't understand the gameplay system at first but I soon got the hang of it. It's quite a fun challenge to try to intercept the powerups and avoid the asteroids in a turn based system. The only thing I thought was a bit too much was being spun around completely. It seems like it would be really difficult to actually escape from the drones. But that's just a balance issue I think. For the time available I think you made a great an unique game and I enjoyed it, nice work!

Dreamlight by blksocks 2017-08-06T17:28:29Z

Really cool game. I really like the movement, being able to dash down to dodge the attacks was satisfying. The aim and click nature of the attack system was difficult for me to get used to, overall I didn't mind it though. I made it to phase three and then the game kept freezing for me, not sure if it was an issue on my end or with the game itself. In any case, this game works great as a whole package, the visuals, audio and gameplay all worked together nicely. Very challenging!

Running on the Power of Love by nervous-composers 2017-08-02T13:52:52Z

Very nice visuals, I think the gameplay could use a bit more variety, all the obstacles were exactly the same despite looking different. You could make a certain type of enemy move left and right or something just for a bit of interest. But overall its pretty nice, good work!

Electronaut by rhythmlynx 2017-08-02T13:18:07Z

Super cool game, I didn't get the multiple dimensions thing at first but I quickly got the hang of it. The gameplay, visuals and audio all work very nicely together. Only minor complaint is I think its a bit unfair that the enemies tend to spawn right on top of the battery which means a lot of the time you're simultaneously recharging and dying. But other than that, great work!

Out of Power by sorecactus 2017-08-01T18:00:32Z

Nice platformer! Controls are a bit sticky at times but it plays pretty nicely overall.

Breath by sundr0 2017-08-02T13:44:11Z

Really cool, the gameplay is quite minimalistic but it seems you went all out with the design and atmosphere and it creates a great impression. As others have said getting stuck on things was a bit frustration but I got use the movement after a while. I'm not sure if the game is completeable, I made it through a couple of rooms and couldn't find any more keys. Great work over all!

Fairly Wizardly by Plasmonic 2017-08-06T18:05:12Z

Am I missing something? There seems to be nowhere to go except down once I get to the skull signs. And when I go down there I can't get out. I would like to know, so I can finish it. But anyway, I think you have the basics of a good platformer, I liked the character designs and animations. I'm not sure what the cower move is for, it was funny though. Nice work! Also I think I'm not supposed to reach here...firefox_2017-08-06_19-06-36.png

The Hackerman by Steing 2017-08-01T17:04:49Z

This was pretty entertaining, the popups and messages were really funny!

The Sorcerer's Apprentice by donvermo 2017-08-02T14:01:01Z

I think you have the start of a pretty solid platformer here, I like the walljumping. The controls did feel a bit awkward, mainly being unable to jump while standing next to a wall, and not stopping immediately when releasing the move button. But, I was still able to complete the game, I like the visuals and music, pretty nice overall!

Down to the last Percents by Garazbolg2 2017-08-02T14:11:50Z

I love the atmosphere, even though the monster is simple it still seemed very threatening, the audio is great. I found it a bit confusing, wasn't sure what the relevance of the blue eyes was. Also I'm not sure how I made it past the monster the second time, I just waited for him to go past me twice and then he disappeared I think? It seems in need of more work but definitely has potential, nice work overall!

Does Size Matter ? by HakunaMacouta 2017-08-02T17:33:02Z

I'm not sure if there's an issue with the keyboard layout. I tried it but for some reason move keys were all mapped incorrectly. Also I didn't have anyone to play it with but I imagine it would be fun. The visuals and audio are really nice!

Electric Neon by kamikaziuk 2017-08-01T12:52:53Z

Nice concept and aesthetic. Only a couple of minor criticisms. I was confused at first where the power meter was until I saw it behind the steering wheel. Doesn't make a lot of sense to have it obscured like that in my opinion but not a big deal. It would be nice to be able to turn properly while reversing but maybe this was a deliberate restriction on your part. It's pretty pleasant and satisfying to drive around and fun hunting for the next battery. Great work!

The Shutdown by Silas Reinagel 2017-08-02T14:37:10Z

That was pretty fun! I liked the reload mechanic in the combat. The dialogue was nice too. I got killed by the knight guy in the weapon shop.

Snow Train by stupidpawn 2017-08-06T18:57:16Z

Really great work, there's so much that's good about this game. I love the idea, the humour, and the visuals. The audio was handled well, though I think some subtle BGM would help it. I think I found a bug; I tried collecting more snow while there was already a bucket in the snow heater, and that seemed to break my bucket ability, so I wasn't able to progress any further. But as far as the gameplay itself goes, I liked it a lot, very well done, nice job!

ROOP (Running Out Of Power) by Spetsdod 2017-08-06T16:45:18Z

I think the main issue is the movement of the ship and how it relates to the other elements. You can float without moving and just rotate to shoot the enemy ships, but of course at some point you need to move to collect power cells. It takes a while for the ship to build up momentum. Once you have momentum, you have basically committed yourself because it takes so much efort to alter the course of the ship, if you overshoot and miss the power cell then you are worse off than before. In addition to how hard it is to aim yourself at the power cells, if you actually get there you're moving so fast that you can't really get out of the way of the enemies. If you apply too much force to the ship you end up speeding uncontrollably across the screen. On top of that, the enemies sometimes spawn right on top of you in which case you have no chance to defend yourself. I think everything would work better if the acceleration and turning of the ship was a bit more immediate. In its current state its kind of unmanageable. Having said all that, it was still quite enjoyable, the visuals and sound were simple but effective, and aside from what I mentioned above the gameplay was well thought-out and executed. Not bad at all especially on the compo time limit, nice work!

[EDIT] I played the postjam version and my score skyrocketed (no pun intended), I'm not sure how much was due to your changes and how much was just me getting better at the game, but I enjoyed it a lot more, watching your demo probably helped me get the technique down too. Great job :)

Project Sunspot by AntaresValdemar 2017-08-01T04:33:48Z

@december-dogs sorry about that I've had a real headache uploading the thing. Should be playable now!

Project Sunspot by AntaresValdemar 2017-08-01T10:09:18Z

@chadivision Thank you very much for playing. I am glad you enjoyed the mood! The darkness in the game is supposed to be quite deadly, that is why the player is given a light. Managing your power so you can use the light is core to the challenge of the game, and I feel that putting too much of the map in permanent light would nullify the challenge. Having said that, I do like your idea of including some elements in the map which provide the player with temporary aid. It's something that I would look at including given more time. As for gameplay hints, the hints are there but they are subtle. I didn't want to spoonfeed the player but rather reward thought and experimentation. However, I am the only one who playtested it and I am the creator so perhaps the hints were too subtle. Suffice to say, backtracking through the level is a defininte requirement. I will probably post a walkthrough for those who want to see the end of the game without having to sink too much time into trial and error. Thanks again for the comment!

Project Sunspot by AntaresValdemar 2017-08-01T10:11:02Z

@lun8 Thank you for playing. The ps1 era horror game mood is exactly what I was going for so I'm glad it came across. The camera and movement choices were deliberate to add to the challenge (though I do need to tweak it in certain parts, just ran out of time). Thanks for the comment!

Project Sunspot by AntaresValdemar 2017-08-01T10:16:42Z

@pjchardtthesecond Thank you for playing. I do agree with you that in certain parts the camera angle is unnecesarily frustrating. That is just the result of me running out of time and having too many other things to fix. Checkpoints could be nice, I agree. Didn't have time to implement it, and also I have grown accustomed to starting over from playing so much Dark Souls 3 (lol) so it doesn't bother me all that much, but I understand how frustrating it might be for some. I did actually decrease the power usage rates compared to my first build, which was very brutal. Perhaps I do need to make it a bit more forgiving though. And as I said, definitely agree with you about the camera, its hard to strike a balance between keeping the challenge/suspense and not making it seem unfair. Anyway, thank you very much for the comment!

Project Sunspot by AntaresValdemar 2017-08-02T14:43:25Z

@richard-bunn Thank you for the feedback. You are right, the start of the game is an issue, the player is just dumped in the dark with no orientation. This was just a lack of planning on my part. I'm glad you liked it otherwise :)

Project Sunspot by AntaresValdemar 2017-08-02T14:44:40Z

@sempra I'm sorry the controls weren't to your taste, I was going for an old school PS1 horror game feel specifically but it can feel unnatural for some players I guess. I'm glad you enjoyed the ambience, thanks for playing!

Project Sunspot by AntaresValdemar 2017-08-02T15:14:16Z

@jannes-nagel Thanks so much for playing. The game is certainly challenging, I'm glad you still enjoyed it. I put a lot of time into the design and modelling, perhaps too much time for a three day project as other elements ended up falling a bit short but anyway, thanks for the feedback :)

Project Sunspot by AntaresValdemar 2017-08-02T15:15:37Z

@tyguy I'm glad you liked the feel as it was a main focus of the idea. Hearing that you tried to dash the door down made me laugh! It does make total sense to try that, but it never occurred to ma haha. Thanks a lot for playing :)

Project Sunspot by AntaresValdemar 2017-08-02T19:45:34Z

@chaotikza Thanks for playing! Yes, the game is pretty tough. It was ambitious to make this kind of game on such a tight deadline so there's a lot missing from it in terms of getting the player accustomed. Other players have mentioned that checkpoints would help and I agree, it's a slog playing it from the start every time. It's something I'll keep in mind for next time!

Project Sunspot by AntaresValdemar 2017-08-02T19:52:25Z

For those who were unable to finish the game but want to see how it plays out, I recorded a playthrough: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pwkuu-HVgV4

Project Sunspot by AntaresValdemar 2017-08-03T20:11:35Z

@chris-coe Thanks very much for playing and for taking the time to watch the video. Most people have been put off by the difficulty so I've just uploaded a friendlier post-jam version with some adjustments. I learned a lot for next time!

Project Sunspot by AntaresValdemar 2017-08-05T17:17:10Z

@machinetribe thanks a lot for the feedback! I totally agree, having the player start in the dark was an oversight, I fixed that in my post-jam version. Also the long tutorial text could be replaced with some kind of tutorial area if I had time. Glad you liked it!

@brorawr Yeah it was pretty much in at the deep end haha. Glad you liked it anyway!

@spetsdod Thanks for playing, I'm glad you liked the visuals. I did make the post-jam version a bit friendlier and more accessible :)

@ryzy27 Thanks for the feedback! I did have trouble refining the leaping physics, its something I would try to improve in the future. Also you are right about the controls, I changed the setup a bit post-jam :)

@tayopi thanks!

@xqwzts251 Thanks for playing! It was definitely an ambitious project for 72 hours but I'm glad I went for it, it was intense and a lot of things that could be improved but I'm happy with what I was able to accomplish. Will try to keep improving for next time!

Project Sunspot by AntaresValdemar 2017-08-06T22:23:19Z

@agecaf thanks for the feedback! I made the jumps easier and added interaction indicators in the post-jam version :)

Project Sunspot by AntaresValdemar 2017-08-11T02:49:32Z

@codechomper thanks very much for trying my game out, I watched the video and it seems you didn't realise you can walk forwards by pressing the up arrow! If you do have time, perhaps you could try it again, I think you'l have a much easier time with it. I'm glad you liked it regardless :)

Turrets Turrets by ryzy27 2017-08-02T23:43:16Z

Really well made and addictive. My top score was about 870. No real criticisms, it works great!

Guncharger by Lun8 2017-08-01T12:18:49Z

Great take on the theme, I really like it! I'm sorry to say that I couldn't get past the part where you have to use the fan and shoot the platforms at the same time. The accuracy required to hit the small platform trigger was just too difficult for me. But the concept for the puzzles was really great. I like the art and the music too, nice work!

Baby Space Saucer by Drew1888 2017-08-02T17:28:04Z

Nice work, I enjoyed it once I got the hang of it. It did seem a bit impossible after a certain point though. Still, pretty cool overall, I like the audio too :)

POW by ProdigalSon 2017-08-07T00:32:22Z

Super cool game, everything about it is very polished, it looks beautiful, the audio is really appropriate and the mechanic is clever. It was a bit on the easy side, most of the puzzles I got on the first try and the rest on the second try, having said that they did make me think and it was fun. I think it has potential to expand. Amazing work overall!

Midnight Manor by GeraldFIngBurke 2017-08-06T16:21:51Z

Nice idea, I'm afraid I really didn't get how to progress though. Am I just dumb or is this unfinished? Nothing I found seemed to contribute any solution. I see the potential though. I like the look and feel of the game though as others have mentioned the generator timer was a bit too short.

Fat Fireman by xqwzts251 2017-08-02T17:01:39Z

This is a pretty fun idea but I'm pretty sure the second level is unbeatable. Correct me if I'm wrong. Some of the colliders didn't really match up to the visual scenery so it was a bit confusing. It was funny though. Nice work!

Space Bear Panic by Chris Coe 2017-08-02T22:51:04Z

Cool little game! I managed to escape the space station with the entity inches away from my shuttle. Everything in the game works nicely. At first I found it annoying that I could only hold one energy at a time but then I realised that the point was to go back and forth quickly enough before the entity spreads so it made sense. The only real complaint I had was getting stuck at the sides of doorways while trying to go through them. I feel like you could make it more tile based so that you fit through the doors smoothly. But otherwise I enjoyed the game a lot, nice work!

Last Train Out by amarcu 2017-08-02T13:06:46Z

Super cool game guys, looks beautiful and plays nicely. I managed to score over 9000!

Funkotron 5k by Jannes Nagel 2017-08-02T16:25:48Z

A+ humour, I love it. Clicking to the rhythm was pretty satisfying, and I love the design of funkotron. Great work :)

Watervapor by Fragfire 2017-08-02T15:09:35Z

Really great idea, I think it has a lot of potential. My major complaints are that its just extremely hard to hit anything with Bob and John. There's a lot going on all the time and its hard to tell what's happening. I think what might help is making Bob and John different colours from one another, and maybe having an indicator on screen of which atom corresponds to which mouse button. Also its pretty awkward to switch between the attack and shield keys, its too many controls to manage. I think perhaps just having one key, for example space bar, to turn both your atoms into shields at once would work better. Then you can either be in "shield mode" or "attack mode" without having to hunt for keys on your keyboard in such a frantic situation. I wasn't a huge fan of the music but the sounds effects were good. The facial expressions and exclamations from the enemies were a nice touch. Overall great work!

AI Overlord Runaway by Agecaf 2017-08-06T20:05:45Z

Cool idea, pretty well executed. I'm really not good at bullet hell shooters but I still had a fun time with this. I think the selection of powers was too much to get my head around. I would have perhaps limited the player to two or three power "slots" that could be assigned to their preferred powers, and then have those powers activated by easy to find keys. That aside, I think the concept is fine. Nice music and visuals!

KOCMOHaBT Spaceman by PjchardtTheSecond 2017-08-01T15:13:59Z

Nice idea, lots of atmosphere in this game. It got too frustrating trying to find the sattelites after a while, I was just floating into nothing and dying too often. But overall I like it, the voiceover narration was a cool touch, nice work!

KOCMOHaBT Spaceman by PjchardtTheSecond 2017-08-01T15:14:12Z

Flask of Destruction by Melowicyan 2017-08-02T17:19:51Z

Pretty cool idea. The combat was a bit confusing though. It seems your troops all die no matter what you do, even if you win the battles. I think it could use some tweaking. But I like the idea, and the visuals and music are great. Nice work!

LD46 — Keep it alive

The Show Must Go On by Jedeen 2020-04-21T02:23:50Z

Very cool game! Took me a couple of tries to figure out what I was doing but once I got the hang of it it was fun, having to run back and forth to the different props (and make sure I stood in the right spot on stage). Simple but effective gameplay, the music was nice and energetic too, great job!

Commandball by pjnovas 2020-04-21T22:38:47Z

Love the visuals and the mechanics seem solid. Don't have anyone to play it with unfortunately! I think the amount of controls are a bit overwhelming, if there was some way to streamline it, it might be more intuitive. Cool stuff though!

Abidance by Kriss 2020-04-21T16:48:32Z

Really great job. I was confused at first at how to survive but once I got the hang of flicking my flashlight on to defend myself, it was easy to explore around and find the crates until the ship arrived. As Tednesday said above I didn't see much use for the gun but it wasn't really an issue, just something that could maybe be tweaked or removed. This game had nice graphics and audio and a lot of atmosphere. Well done!

The joys of parenthood by IronyGames 2020-04-21T18:26:00Z

Wow that was...unexpected. I really liked it overall, the minigames were fun (although I didn't understand the farmhand one), great sense of humour and nice graphics.

the Early Worm by alec 2020-04-21T22:32:50Z

That's a cool movement mechanic, took some getting used to but was satisfying once I got the hang of it. Loved how the movement sound coincides harmonically with the background music. Also the bright and cheerful visuals and audio juxtaposed with the dark context made me laugh. Great job!

Gardener 2.X by Harker 2020-04-21T16:05:04Z

This is fantastic, really well made. The movement of the character has a nice feel. It took me a while to figure out what I was supposed to do but once I got it it was addictive to play. It was funny how you can just launch the seeds across the map into the shop, and I found myself yelling "PICK UP THE GUN" like I was playing apex legends or something. Lovely visuals and music. Some sounds effects would be a nice thing to add. Also I think you should put a limit to how many insects can be spawned at one time. I got swarmed to the point where I couldn't even kill them as fast as they were spawning, let alone plant any seeds (see attached image). All in all though I loved this game, great work.

[EDIT] I played it again after reading the detailed instructions this time and it's even more well thought-out than it at first seemed. It's pretty hard to catch the seeds that the insects drop, I would maybe have them stay on the ground for a certain amount of time before dissappearing. Also it took me until second playthrough to realise that you can just clik to drop fertiliser, rather than throwing the bucket of fertiliser onto the planter lmao. Maybe add a little popup UI element that sayd ("Left click to fertilise" and has a counter for the remaining uses, or something like that?" Great job!

Guilty Transplant by AntaresValdemar 2020-04-21T01:00:44Z

The aim of the game is to destroy your failed experiments, and harvest their organs to keep your one successful experiment, "Subject 46", alive. Some of the experiments will seek out and try to kill 46, while others will lurk around the facility. Hunt them down and use their organs to replace whichever of 46's organs are failing. The game is over if any of 46's organs reach zero health, so remember to check up on 46 frequently.

Guilty Transplant by AntaresValdemar 2020-04-21T17:55:52Z

@lukas Thanks for the feedback! I had intended to have some lore explaining why 46 is the success and the others are failures, sadly I didn't have time to include it so you'll have to take my word for it XD

Guilty Transplant by AntaresValdemar 2020-04-21T22:46:52Z

@abyss Thanks for playing! Sometimes they lurk at the end of the side corridors as well as in the rooms. As a post-jam fix I may have some kind of idle noise so you can hear when one is nearby :)

Guilty Transplant by AntaresValdemar 2020-04-23T06:12:44Z

@marcell-balog Thanks very much! I wanted to make the UI pretty and balance the difficulty but I ran out of time, I'm glad you still enjoyed it despite those flaws :)

Guilty Transplant by AntaresValdemar 2020-04-23T06:13:35Z

@xmatos Thanks for playing! I didn't think the controls through as well as I could have, it's something I give higher priority to in future :)

Guilty Transplant by AntaresValdemar 2020-04-23T21:45:35Z

@roey-shap thanks very much for playing! Seems to be a recurring thing with my jam entries, I never leave time for balancing and the game ends up being too hard lol. I've made it much more manageable in the post-jam version. Glad you liked the concept anyway :)

Guilty Transplant by AntaresValdemar 2020-04-26T21:17:17Z

Thanks for playing @alexandroskap , I'm glad you enjoyed the game and that the control change helped :)

Sliding Caves by xmatos 2020-04-22T03:40:41Z

Fantastic game, it's cool how you not only determine the path with the blocks, but also use them as a weapon. I got to level 8. Visuals and audio were simple and effective. Very fun, great job!

Lich Clicker by Fictions 2020-04-21T17:08:06Z

Cool art and voice acting, the music is really nice too. Basic gameplay but it all works well. I got to over 20,000 and I guess there's nothing left to upgrade, it was fun while it lasted though, nice work!

Lost in the Mine by Andro 2020-04-21T14:42:32Z

I enjoyed this game, it worked well and had some challenge, most of all I liked the sense of humour! The boss made me laugh. Great work :)

Mad Planter by Niki90000 2020-04-21T14:59:17Z

Nice work, the game plays well, it's simple and easy to understand. Maybe I am just bad at this type of game but the difficulty seemed to ramp up insanely quickly. But I thought it was cool, the graphics are nice and the music is groovy, good job!

Abandoned Archive by Vedal 2020-04-21T15:33:12Z

This game is visually gorgeous with great audio. The combat seems mostly solid though a bit chaotic. Really nice over all.

StarShip Hamster by Maytch 2020-04-21T19:02:50Z

Great job, the game looks amazing and the audio was cool. Overall the feel of the shooting was great. My only complaint was the camera got a bit wild while I was running on foot. It wasn't a huge issue just needed some tweaking. I completed it on the second try, once I got the hang of the controls. Congrats on a successful jam!

Keep the LEVEL ALIVE! by magicera 2020-04-21T14:10:14Z

Cool idea! The movement feels solid, though sometimes I got stuck sliding along the ground and couldn't move at all, I'm not sure why. I liked it though it was fun, good work!

Keep What Alive by Valeth2124 2020-04-21T03:06:17Z

Very nice atmosphere and sense of humour!

The big plant protection programme by Badduck 2020-04-21T14:52:07Z

Cute graphics and audio, everything works nicely it just needs tweaking so that the progression of enemies matches the money earned. Nice work!

The Dragon's Curse by Aditya Kumar 2020-04-21T03:00:56Z

I enjoyed this, very atmopsheric and humorous, and the dialogue was nicely detailed, cool artwork too. I got stuck on a certain dialogue where it just said "the mist is all around you", not sure if that's a bug or intentional punishment lol. Anyway, very nice work!

Protector Of The Forest by Pawciu 2020-04-21T15:17:17Z

It seems like your game is unfinished and you didn't get round to implementing the core gameplay, I was just clicking the auto button over and over again until I died so I can't really give it a high rating but the visuals and audio are nice, it seems like it has potential!

Save The President by elq 2020-04-21T02:46:04Z

Really cool game. It took me a bit to figure out the puzzles. You nailed the visual style and it was funny as well. Great work!

AMT: Alien Medical Technician by No Grapes Games 2020-04-21T17:53:01Z

Amazing, I love it, the art is gorgeous and I'm impressed at how many characters you included. It took me a few tries but I managed to beat it (on easy mode). Sidenote: Banana - *is a banana* Me: Hahaha. Banana. Banana - *peels* Me: HAHAHA. Banana is peel himself.

GORID-19 by BeaverGames 2020-04-21T18:48:24Z

Cool concept. It was easy enough to understand and worked well. My only major complain would be the Gorbins were pretty hard to click on, and the lack of visual or audio feedback made it hard to tell whether I had used tests successfully or not etc. But it was a cool take on the theme and you executed it well overall, nice job!

Capybaba by matthewi 2020-04-21T02:32:45Z

I couldn't get past the first tree and I feel really dumb...give me a hint lol. I like the art and the music, it's a fun concept!

50 Shades of Pray by robstao 2020-04-21T18:36:13Z

Very funny game, I think it has potential to be expanded upon. It was a great interpretation of the theme. Frustrating when I couldn't move due to my sea of followers lol. Nice work!

Keep the Unicorn Alive! by ShanePatSmith 2020-04-21T03:11:30Z

Really cute game, simple gameplay but it works nicely! My unicorn ate 11 grass :) Good job!

Block Pusher by Pixipit 2020-04-21T02:27:42Z

Nice game, the concept is simple but executed pretty well, it's fun to bounce around and dodge the rocks. The music is great! Only complaint is that it doesn't show your score after you die, so I don't know how well I did (I survived for over 20 seconds I think lol). Good job!

Symbio by x_minus 2020-04-21T15:04:19Z

Hi this seems like an interesting idea but I'm not sure it's playable? I just keep losing pretty much straight away, it says there is 1 predator and then 0 predators but I never see the predator on screen? Nothing I do seems to affect it. Let me now if I've missed something, because the game looks nice.

LD47 — Stuck in a loop

Mr. Cheeks Sweet Dreams by MrTroy 2020-10-06T07:02:18Z

Awesome visuals and audio, the gamplay is simple and solid, I like the mechanic of being able to use your attacks to mitigate damage and bounce up to collect the items. Pretty difficult at times, but enjoyable, very nice work!

Loop Invader by Ale 2020-10-06T05:19:23Z

This is one of the best game jam games I have ever played. Such a clever idea, and brilliantly executed. I found it really fun strategising about how to best use the different types available to separate the balls and focus my attention in one area. I beat the first four levels and my brain started to hurt but I may come back and try it again. There is so much choice available on how to play it, within the limited yet varied constraints. My only mild criticism is that the audio track is very, very short and repetitive, but even the tone of the audio suits the mood of the game, and I understand why there are no sound effects, it would be too overwhelming. I like the minimal but tasteful gameplay graphics, the UI aesthetics could be nicer but it's just fine as it is. Really great job, I am truly impressed. (EDIT) I forgot to mention, but the glitch of the barriers not funtioning properly when touching each other is frustrating, it would be easier if you could realy seal areas of fully without some of the balls slipping out, but even this bug is fairly minor and could even be considered something that adds to the challenge.

BULLETS FROM THE PAST by Cambryx 2020-10-06T11:30:57Z

Excellent work, the game looks very polished and plays very nicely. The mechanics are simple and the challenge of the game is largely dependent on the player's own strategy. The audio is nice, and the feel of the game is great, the bullets are fast enough to keep you alert but slow enough not to be overwhelming. Very good entry, congrats!

Ouroboros Paradox by TolMera 2020-10-06T04:26:57Z

Cool idea and has the foundations for a good shooter. Not sure how to beat it as the enemies are overpowered and avoiding them doesn't seem to work for me either, but it has a good sense of intrigue and atmosphere, nice work for a short space of time!

Hyperloop hell by Aterlamia 2020-10-06T03:49:29Z

Nice little adventure, I like the graphics and the dialogue, it has a great mood!

Shooty Loops by AntaresValdemar 2020-10-06T04:29:36Z

@colmaphis-games Oops sorry, added the link now!

Shooty Loops by AntaresValdemar 2020-10-06T04:48:49Z

@ice9 I anticipate a lot of people will comment about the debris going through the gun lol. I thought of adding colliders or something to make them bounce away, I didn't want to open that can of worms in the final hours of the jam though haha. In retrospect I could have spawned the bullet further back to allow hitting it close up, but I wanted the bullet to come out of the end of the barrel cause it looks better. Anyway, thank you for playing!

Shooty Loops by AntaresValdemar 2020-10-06T05:22:54Z

@ice9 That is a very good suggestion, thank you! :)

Shooty Loops by AntaresValdemar 2020-10-06T05:27:27Z

@colmaphis-games That's a good suggestion, with more time I would try to make the movement of the cannon smoother. Haha I'm glad you like the sound, your comment made me laugh. I couldn't make a gunshot sound but in the end I think it works well for a muffled cannon in space :)

Shooty Loops by AntaresValdemar 2020-10-06T05:40:43Z

@cliffracerx I appreciate the feedback! The not being able to shoot the clipping debris is definitely a frustrating oversight, especially when you are on the last piece and it's right in front of your face but can't hit it before time runs out. The limited rotation however was intentional; it was meant to give meaning to the loop i.e. once you rotate past a certain point, you can't shoot the debris that has gone past you so you have to abandon it and move to another target. Thanks for playing, glad you enjoyed :)

Shooty Loops by AntaresValdemar 2020-10-06T08:22:07Z

@cosmicpickle Thanks for the feedback! I did originally have just a time countdown clock as the time limit, but I felt it didn't really utilise the theme, so I decided to make it number of loops instead. [EDIT] sorry, you did already say that in your comment, maybe I am still sleep deprived from the jam lol! I guess it serves the same purpose, just a matter of how it's presented. Glad you like the visuals, thanks for playing!

Shooty Loops by AntaresValdemar 2020-10-06T08:39:28Z

@arcus Thanks for playing! I was planning to make a clean version of the UI but I ran out of time (and energy), so it is still the sketched version.

Shooty Loops by AntaresValdemar 2020-10-10T07:12:02Z

@matthewrobo Thanks, it does speed up throughout the levels, but it's subtle. People have said in the past that my game jam games were too hard :)

The Loop by Enver Arco 2020-10-06T08:18:32Z

This is awesome, you used the persistent previous attempts mechanic really well! The puzzles are cool and definitely make you think. I made it all the way to level 10 but couldn't figure it out after a good number of attempts. I like the visuals too. Great work!

Under The Moon by Albuquerque 2020-10-06T06:47:47Z

Superb visuals, and nice level design, I like how you go around the area in a circular fashion which is I assume how you interpreted the loop theme. I wish the game had some audio, even a simple bgm, having said that you managed to create a lot of atmosphere without it which is impressive. That moon certainly is terrifying, and when I saw that guy had disappeared I actually was shocked haha. Great work!

8BEATS by DangerBlack 2020-10-06T11:45:14Z

Nicely made overall. There seems to be an issue where you can lose most of your health while the guy is still talking and you haven't even had the chance to buy the most basic turret yet. But that aside, it's a cool concept with great visuals and audio, good work!

hudunnit by Minus 2020-10-06T12:28:33Z

Great sense of atmosphere and a cool interpretation of the theme. Visuals and audio are fantastic. The plot was intriguing until I accidentally solved it on my first try, because I chose "accuse" instead of leave. On that note, I think it would be beneficial to leave the conversation dialogue with the escape key. Great work overall.

Need More Space by wheatleyscience 2020-10-06T04:08:42Z

Outstanding visuals, and nice audio. The gameplay is solid, I like the sun/shade mechanic and how the different items to collect relate to the sun in different ways. I don't see much connection with the theme but it's very well made nonetheless, good work!

The Innermost Inside by Majadroid 2020-10-06T11:19:19Z

The visuals and audio were really nice, I like how each level has its own look, and it has a more transcendental feeling the deeper you go. It would be cool to have a bit more to it than just "oh I went the wrong way and ran out of time, guess I'll go the other way". It was cool overall though, I like the feel and sound of the movement when you jump between nodes. Good work!

Among Stars and Robots by jaoel 2020-10-06T10:09:13Z

Fantastic game, I like the mechanic of using a loop of code and having the robot eventually reach the goal due to the obstacles changing its course. I beat all the levels! Was really just trial and error for the most part, though I did try to think ahead a bit as well. Loveley visuals and audio. 2020-10-06_11-06-24.png

The Hand That Feeds by neonjeff 2020-10-06T05:35:48Z

So, so funny. The gameplay is so basic and minimal but it's solid and easy to understand. The best thing by far is your personal creativity, the drawings and the hilarious voicelines, it really made me laugh, and also in the back of my mind quite depressed because this is what I have to look forward to if I ever become a parent (though hopefully I will be more diligent about cleaning up vomit from the floor. Great work!

while(true) by PizzArt64 2020-10-06T10:56:24Z

Cool puzzles, really makes you think, and the strategy involving timing the red cubes so that you switch places with them is fun. It's very satisfying when you figure a stage out. I reached this stage and decided I'd had enough, the previous one burned my tiny brain out. 1.jpg

I like the look of the game a lot, the audio is nice too (the BGM is a bit grating, I know it's hard with a time limit but try to squeeze ina bit more variety to it if you can) but overall this is really great, good work.

Don't Shoot Yourself by Maxwell3000 2020-10-06T07:42:34Z

Great concept, having to loop the bullets back at yourself to do damage, and in that way it becomes a bullet hell of your own bullets. Good idea to add the easy mode! My favourite thing is the background music, I love it! Nice work overall.

Stranger dreams by Colmaphis Games 2020-10-06T08:52:19Z

I did it...eventually lol. I was slow but after a while I realised how you used the theme of "loop". Nicely done!

Sisyphus Beetle Takes His Daughter to Work by pee-thief 2020-10-06T09:15:09Z

What did I just experience....

XD

Anyway, love the art and the music, and of course the humour. I was confused but I laughed.

Danger Beat by rhoff95 2020-10-06T03:39:31Z

Great concept to make a musical bullet hell. I'm guessing when the turret turns on, you have completed the beat? Some extra mechanics such as a score and a win and lose condition of some kind would have been good additions but what you have done is great, nice work!

The final loop by IndieQuest 2020-10-06T07:12:14Z

Neat idea, I like the concept of a turret defense where you place the turrets but can also move them in realtime, as well as moving your base. The presentation is nice and clean and the controls work great, nice work!

Bjorn to Dance by Tomh 2020-10-06T04:00:40Z

Very nice looking game with a solid simon says mechanic, nice audio too, good work!

GHOST FROM JAIL by Gilad Bar Ilan 2020-10-06T09:08:34Z

I like the mechanic of being able to teleport to a random spot when you are surrounded. It seems to ramp up the difficulty extremely quickly. But the gameplay is pretty solid. And the idea of being arrested by ghosts is hilarious to me.

Patient Ghost by MartRoks 2020-10-06T12:40:00Z

Fun concept, to repeat a loop and discover a little more each time. The visuals are really nice and the bgm is pleasant too. I realised that the patient number is in the title of the game, thought that was some third-wall breaking gameplay, but then realised you can discover it in the game as well lol. Wish there was a bit more content but what you got done is great, nice work!

From That Monday by Weeqee 2020-10-06T09:42:31Z

Nice idea, a bit confusing though, regarding what you are supposed to catch and what you are supposed to avoid. [EDIT] I get it now, I was avoiding and eating the wrong food haha. It looks and sounds great!

Stuck Until Discovered by newbieDev 2020-10-06T04:45:38Z

Nice idea, you have the beginnings of a game, it just needs to be fleshed out more. The visuals are very appealing and the audio is great, the objective wasn't very clear, I ran around the loop about 10 times before I realised I kept going past the end haha.

LD48 — Deeper and deeper

Is this a tiger? by limered 2021-04-27T02:55:42Z

That was a fun and unexpected concept. Love the artwork, nice job! I didn't realise for a while that you had to walk the tourists all the way back to stop them, but overall the game played pretty well.

NO SIGNAL by olaron 2021-04-27T21:18:22Z

That was a neat audiovisual experience, pretty unique, gj!

Deep Water Lurkers by AntaresValdemar 2021-04-27T01:19:48Z

@miej Miles plays subnautica so he was probably inspired by that when coming up with the idea lol! Ty for playing

Deep Water Lurkers by AntaresValdemar 2021-04-27T01:21:01Z

@ditam That's fair, I wish I had time to design a nice -looking UI and make interactions smoother, glad the game works well enough though, thanks for playing!

Deep Water Lurkers by AntaresValdemar 2021-04-27T01:21:44Z

@tucan Thanks for playing, wish I had time to improve the amount of content haha

Deep Water Lurkers by AntaresValdemar 2021-04-27T01:22:22Z

@clericshields Thanks for playing, yes I think a wider field of view could be a helpful option!

Deep Water Lurkers by AntaresValdemar 2021-04-27T01:24:26Z

@breadstix That's gotta be a bug, thank you for pointing it out! Glad you enjoyed the game :) [EDIT] I've fixed that bug now!

Deep Water Lurkers by AntaresValdemar 2021-04-27T01:34:51Z

@tengusheath True, it is tricky because of how zoomed in the camera is. Thanks for playing!

Deep Water Lurkers by AntaresValdemar 2021-05-03T22:54:44Z

@chris1919 Thanks for the feedback, we did have a lot of fun making it! I am aware of the bug you mentioned, just need to get around to fixing it :) I also did have a bubble trail made by a particle system, but it weirdly didn't show up in the web build, not sure why, maybe a feature of unity's webGL builder. (It looks like this in the unity game window) xTGKZ3QX6e.gif

Something I will try to figure out for next time. Thanks for playing!

Deep Water Lurkers by AntaresValdemar 2021-05-03T22:56:30Z

@ludrol Thanks for playing! You're right, it's hard to tell where the creatures are. If I were to do it again, I would give them some kind of trail to make it easier :)

Deep Water Lurkers by AntaresValdemar 2021-05-03T22:57:41Z

@deltachemist Thanks, I was hoping the player would feel compelled to explore further, so I'm glad you got that feeling :)

Deep Water Lurkers by AntaresValdemar 2021-05-03T22:58:18Z

@kontiko I agree with the suggestions! Thanks for playing :)

This Goes Deeper... by The Enigma 2021-04-27T21:40:36Z

I am the weiner! Cool concept, of course it's very rough round the edges but to be expected with the time constraint. I enjoyed reading the funny files. Nice work!

ChaO.S. by Nanda 2021-04-27T03:16:41Z

Well I figured out the first password...and I didn't get any further than that lol. Maybe I am too dumb but in any case, I like the vibe of your game!

Bumpy Drilly by Paul-Maxime 2021-04-27T00:38:50Z

Cool game! The mechanics are simple and work well, and the visuals and audio are solid. I thought it was getting a bit repetitive, until the twist at the end which definitely elevated the experience. Nice job overall!

Nautilus by Tomas Poblete 2021-04-27T01:18:15Z

The visuals and the music are wonderful. Not sure about the controls, the ship seems to go side to side when I am just pressing down, was that intentional? Nice work overall!

Inner Pieces by Eckkert 2021-04-27T03:33:59Z

Really cool concept. It took me a couple of minutes to figure out the mechanic for making a path, once I did it was quite fun and challenging. The visuals and audio create a lot of atmosphere. It's an interesting depiction of the realm of thoughts. Great work! [EDIT] I couldn't see your instructions before playing because my internet didn't load the images lol.

Depth Perception by Rina 2021-04-27T03:10:16Z

Cool concept, I couldn't really figure it out though, I get that there are parts of the paintings you can move around and I'm guessing you assemble them on the blank canvas, couldn't figure it out beyond that. I moved part of the van gogh but it disappeared lol. I like the vibe though!

A Taste of the Past by Emily Pitcher 2021-04-27T02:42:28Z

Very atmospheric and touching. The visuals and audio are exemplary. The minigames were a nice touch to add variety while the story moved along. Great work!

Surface Level by javi7 2021-04-27T00:48:11Z

The controls were a bit difficult but I eventually got the hang of jumping and grinding and taking phone calls. I still found it difficult but it was a nice idea. The visuals and audio are great, good job!

Great Depth, Great Dairy by Canaguia 2021-04-27T21:13:15Z

That was quite an interesting voyage. Fun interpretation of the theme!
