LD43 — Sacrifices must be made

Dungeon of Lost Items by g12345 2018-12-25T14:36:39Z

I like the pixel art. I think the game would have benefited with smaller levels, maybe they get bigger or harder as you progress. I was harder then I thought it would be and I found myself actually planning out my route in advanced, which is a good thing! good luck

Titan Ceremony by alec 2018-12-06T14:18:25Z

hey everyone, thanks for playing and taking the time to comment! I've fixed the typo on the controllers, and expanded the gameplay description. Hopefully it will help future players

Dungeon of Sacrifice by kantieno 2018-12-06T04:03:14Z

Nice game! I liked the randomness with each playthrough. The bullets were pretty small and sometimes hard to see. And I agree with irock where the sacrifices could have been a bit more intense. It also would be cool if the HUD (activated with p) was always on screen. Something like classic doom where you wouldn't have to switch back and forth. I really liked the art of the rooms! good luck!

Mr. Fluffer's Big Day by CaptainDreamcast 2018-12-06T04:15:10Z

legendary description, and great humor!

Tropical Shaman Ultimate Carnage by Drakncel 2018-12-04T21:11:01Z

challenging but fun game, plus I like the music. Some thoughts.. - I can totally see different enemy types. maybe some need to be attacked from a certain side - the saws got me by surprise and took me out instantly the first time I played good luck!

EXCHANGE by hatchet 2018-12-04T21:03:58Z

I really liked the effects of sacrificing different body parts, specifically your eyes and legs. I was a little confused by the tutorial guy since his wording made me think I could get mana other ways. Also, the character movement felt a little slow to me, and aiming magic spells was a little hard (it would be super cool if magic locked on to enemies). I agree with static ddq that the idea and graphics are really good! Also, the opening was great and made me laugh.

Blood, Sweat and Taxes by FalseIncarnate 2018-12-04T21:26:15Z

wow, this is certainly ambitious with all the options for crafting! I honestly felt a little overwhelmed by all the options and wasn't sure what to do. And a HUD that showed my current inventory instead of that one square would go a long way I think. The game reminds me of Agricolla, one of my favorite board games. Good luck!

Blood, Sweat and Taxes by FalseIncarnate 2018-12-05T01:45:58Z

@falseincarnate nope, the game ran flawlessly on my mac!

Battery Blitz by CeeJap 2018-12-06T04:10:15Z

hey pico-8 friend! Nice game, I liked the idea of making the sacrifice your score. I was confused about whether there was a way to lose in the game, and as other said diagonal movement would have been nice (even without separate animations). The music was nice and I'm glad you put the directions right in the game. good luck!

Downgrade by Vasco Freitas 2018-12-04T21:18:36Z

fun game, I liked the spin of increasing difficulty not by making enemies harder, but making the player weaker! I agree the intro text could have been faster. And some indication of my progress to level complete would be nice (I want to compare with friends how far they got). The gradual speed up after downgrading is great though, a super small detail that makes a big difference in the games polish! Good luck!

LayDownLives: Coup Coup by Dazzumbledor 2018-12-25T14:31:01Z

harder then I thought it would be, but fun and well done!

LD44 — Your life is currency

LastSwap by EdevJogos 2019-04-29T23:58:28Z

Awesome graphics! It took me a bit to understand the rules, as the instructions font was a little hard for me to read. It got very hard very quick, but I could totally see this more developed with more complex spells and enemies. The controlling 2 characters reminded me of the game "the world ends with you", which is a good thing! Great work

Spirit by Connell 2019-04-30T00:04:17Z

I liked how clearly you were able to convey information, from the ui to the color of enemies. It would be cool if upgrading your fire speed was an option!

Curfe by Kajetan Andrzejak 2019-04-29T21:27:02Z

awesome interpretation of the theme!

Deliver Us 2 Evil by kemp 2019-04-30T00:10:26Z

great interpretation of the theme...hits a little too close to home lol

Older than War by BetelgeuseMan 2019-05-05T20:29:40Z

Interesting take on the theme, I haven't seen anyone use the idea of trading years of your life! I liked the artwork. Like others said there were some bugs (I was able to walk straight off the level). It would be great if there was a health indicator for the player and enemies!

Bounty Hunted by DrRozza 2019-04-29T16:26:23Z

Like others I liked the graphics, the rotating guns specificaly made me laugh. I would be cool if the rotation speed of the guns increased as your bounty increased!

Live battle by CaOrJavier 2019-04-29T23:50:11Z

clever interface for the store and menus

LD46 — Keep it alive

The president's speech by Bugord 2020-04-21T22:06:36Z

awesome interpretation and execution of the theme! I can totally see this as an "infinite runner" type game

Dodo - A Dodo Game by theforceluke 2020-04-21T22:01:48Z

I like the main mechanic, specifically the idea of having to remember to which sign will disappear when you place a new one. The background music is a little short. The death SFX is perfect though, DODOOO!!

Desertification by hwaet 2020-04-22T02:21:03Z

Cool take on the theme! I really like the art, and wish there was a way to do more then 1 action in a turn. I could totally see this expanded with different types trees, weather effects, ect.

Artifact by Svartskogen 2020-04-22T02:29:56Z

had a lot of fun with this! Barley won with a sliver of life at the end . The 2 fox types created a nice challenge of needing to stay close to the artifact to defend it and venture out to protect and collect the plants. Great job!

LD47 — Stuck in a loop

Janky Marble by infinitycore 2020-10-05T23:40:26Z

Nice concept, and the colors are fun. I agree that a scoring system would add a lot to the game

Stardancer by lekiy 2020-10-04T23:40:48Z

Really fun! Reminds me of those old Pokemon ranger games

Ribbon by 100th_Coin 2020-10-05T23:59:56Z

Incredible job. The concept was innovative and really well put together for such a short ammount of time. Well done!

a Damsel a Day by alec 2020-10-05T00:16:47Z

@nick-barrash ya its random(ish). It's based on the location of the train, offset down the train track a number of tiles depending on the difficulty/day counter.

Far from a perfect solution, since it can create both really easy, and impossible situations!

Loopy Hoop by Ratrat44 2020-10-04T23:57:52Z

Right when I was wondering what was stopping from standing in one place, the game started shooting lasers at me lol! I think it would be cool if releasing space gave your player some momentum from the scarf bouncing back

Programmer Nightmare by Cary Stanley 2020-10-05T00:28:11Z

"tabs or spaces? Both" made me chuckle

Generation Chicken by SakuH 2020-10-05T23:47:08Z

Sweet little platformer. I thought the flap animation was great and was highly amused by the chicken pieces left after I landed on the spikes.

Rogue-Life by KeyLime 2020-10-05T15:22:56Z

Congrats on your first LD submission!

The Song of Spiral Sam by Ashley Koett 2020-10-05T13:34:44Z

fun little game with a great mood! My one gripe is that the text box arrow was really small

Just In Beaver by ondy1985 2020-10-05T23:52:41Z

Really well done. Graphics were on point and gameplay was addicting.

Gravity Loop by Jacob Bernard 2020-10-04T23:33:08Z

Really impressed so see this sort of gravity physics in Pico-8. I had a hard time understanding the goal though, maybe added some more to the description would help?

Collateral Damage by Michael Parrish 2020-10-04T23:28:45Z

clever idea, and well executed! I thought the game was pretty hard, and kinda wish the earth could take a couple more hits. I also really liked the earth rotation animation

LD48 — Deeper and deeper

Sea of Lies by Erkberg 2021-04-29T01:12:35Z

Love the message of this game, and dashing felt really good! I was a little hard to read the text boxes of the enemies, but I appreciated the red marker of where they were off screen (really nice touch). Great work!

Deepeth Woods by colapolka 2021-04-27T00:10:57Z

Man, I'm obsessed with the overall vibe of this game. My favorite part was how the character got beat up as he recieved more damage. It would have been nice to have some directions presented in the beginning of the game, but I managed to figure it out all the same. Nice work!

Ocean LAN by vingiesel 2021-04-26T13:23:24Z

love the stock explosion, and the physics & movement feel great!

Need more deep: Donut cover by Kurakurture 2021-04-26T21:43:55Z

Really unique camera angle. Loosing all horizontal speed when jumping did make it really hard to control.. tI really liked the lighting though, it made things look really dark (if that makes any sense).

For Whom The Diving Bell Tolls by Jakob Willforss 2021-04-26T21:26:08Z

the pressure mechanic was a really clever way to prevent people from just speed running to the bottom! This game has a really good mood!

Cave of Death by Fabian G 2021-04-26T23:05:45Z

The graphics in this game are spot on. I appreciate the care that went into the lighting and overall feel. Nice work!

World Eater Jormungandr by Dilem 2021-04-27T00:23:34Z

I enjoyed how colorful this game was. The gameplay is intuitive and the graphics are cool. In my opnion, it was a bit difficult to figure out what I was supposed to eat and what would deal damage. Other than that everything was great! Nice work.

Earigator by alec 2021-04-27T00:24:13Z

Thank's so much for the feedback everyone!

Earigator by alec 2021-05-02T22:06:13Z

@colapolka I'm going to need to go and update the games end text, since I now know what a good time is haha.

Tunnel of Love: I'm Digging It by chelC 2021-04-26T22:32:14Z

What a fun idea! The cutscenes seemed a little on the long side to me, but other than that the whole feeel is amazing! Very well polished for a jam game.

The Elephant in the Room by CeeJap 2021-04-27T00:46:39Z

Pico-8 is the best. You made a really amazing game here. Great work! The graphics were nice and there was some great movement going on.

At one point I fell into a hole that I was unable to jump out of. That could be user error though lol.

I AM ROOT by Tamino Laub 2021-04-26T23:19:41Z

I genuinely enjoyed playing this game. It took me a little while to master the controls, but after I got the hang of it manuvering the roots was easy. Overall, the whole thing is very polished and fun.

Adventurer of the deep by ROBOWARRIOR1982 2021-04-26T21:19:56Z

Really liked the art in this game. Took my a minute to realize i couldn't mine the gems without purchasing the item first. As others have said impressive amount of content!

Chimes by Pohko 2021-04-27T00:17:17Z

The graphics in this game are seriously MIND BLOWING. Major props to you for creating such a beautiful game in only a few days! You should be proud of yourself. The gameplay was a little slow for my taste, but the overall feel was very calming, which I really appreciate. Keep up the amazing work!

Dig It! by Rusty Bailey 2021-04-26T22:39:45Z

The grafics and gameplay are super slick. Something that could really add to the difficulty would be items that you need to travel around. Overall, nice work!

Treasures Of The Depths by Uzpykes 2021-04-27T03:21:45Z

man this game is so relaxing! the axe tink's were right on, and I think the graphics served the gameplay really well. I can totally see this being expanded to where rocks get harder to mine as you dig down and you would have to buy upgraded gear with the stuff you've mined so far. Also the zoom all the way to the top once you got 5 diamonds was ssooooooo satisfying. good job!

Submarine Frenzy by room606 2021-04-26T22:50:56Z

I had a bit of a hard time mastering the controls but eventually got the hang of it. Good job on the graphics.

Deep way down by Martynas 2021-04-27T03:24:07Z

The five stages of grief exemplified in a beautiful and origional game. Here's what I loved about this:

1)The music and color change associated with each stage did an AMAZING job of helping to portray the emotion that the character was feeling. Add the facial expressions on top of that and you have a display that is moving.

2)Having the "she" be ambiguous allows each person who plays the game to picture someone in their life they wouldn't want to live without. It creats buy-in and immediate emotional investment in the outcome of the story.

3)The anger level was hard and frusterating. I am assuming this was intentional in order to help the player feel what the main character was feeling?

4)Visually, this game was simple, yet stunning. The animations were very fluid and calming.

5)Although the game was short, I felt satisfied after playing it. I wasn't hoping for something extra that wasn't there.

Overall, incredible work. Please keep making gams because you are great at it.

Diggleoid by zep 2021-04-26T18:16:37Z

I want to second the thanks for Pico-8! This is a game I could play for a long, even though I'm very bad at it lol.

Fight Bytes by DrGrognak 2021-04-26T23:29:16Z

I enjoy the thought that went into this game. Learning the mechanics seems like a bit more of a time investment then I have right now, but overall great work!

Wandering by apeyrard 2021-04-26T22:59:31Z

man, the amount of polish in this game is impressive! The art, music, level design are are super good! Even the amount of mechanics is impressive. My only complaint is that the platforming felt a little loose.

amazing job overall!

Dreamer by James_7777 2021-04-26T21:48:22Z

wasn't expecting the transitions in music and visuals as I went deeper into dream, super neat! I wish the attack hotbox was a little bigger, since it was hard to actually hit the enemies.

Odd Jobs by ABRDs 2021-04-26T23:25:34Z

This game was really enjoyable to play. I enjoyed the challenge of each level and the humor in the concept.

Miningsweeper by Nick Barrash 2021-04-27T02:54:08Z

I have played several different minesweeper games from this jam and have like this one the best! Here's why:

1)The different elements you could excavate added a level of mystery to an otherwise straightforward game.

2) RPG gameplay elements forced me to think about my moves instead of clicking around mindlessly

If I could add one thing to this game it would be music. Having something playing in the background would have made the whole game come togeather and taken away from the harshness of the sound effects.

Overall, awesome work! This game was fun to play and felt very complete for a 48 hour jam game.

They Hear You by SakuH 2021-04-26T23:23:51Z

Really cool idea! I really liked the trade offs with choosing to be fast or sneaky. The enemies may be a little fast however, and I once spawned right on top of a mole! The sound and visuals were super polished though.

great job overall!

Wilford - Deep Underground by BattleCat 2021-04-26T21:33:21Z

the sound effect and particles make the digging feel real good! The movement felt a bit off, maybe my computer is just slow.. I also really liked the music!

Cookies Underground by Tom Kun 2021-04-29T01:01:42Z

Really well done visuals and music! I can see this being expanded with guards needing different disguises, or maybe different props having different movement. well done :)

Pescuit Pe Plajă by Trexxak 2021-04-26T21:37:33Z

Legendary instructions lol. I also thought the art was really goofy, but in a good way! One issue I had though was the music only played through my left speaker.

DEEPER by eboatwright 2021-04-26T20:00:21Z

phew, that fall speed is intense (I mean that in the best way possible)! I think some music would help increase the intensity even further. Also it was a bit hard to tell when my character took damage. overall fun game though! Pico-8 users unit!

Tetra Rogue by Ryan Harriman 2021-04-29T01:42:40Z

Tricky but rewarding gameplay! It took me a couple of games to get to a tie, but I think this is more my fault then an game imbalance haha. One thing that would be nice is if there was some sort of indication for the currently selected unit. I'm also impressed by the opponent AI. Overall great job!

Nostril Navigator by Xenon27 2021-04-27T00:51:22Z

Those sound effects are nauseating in the best possible way. You have a really well polished game here. The gross theme makes it even more fun to play somehow...

Deep Sweep by Dazrow 2021-04-26T23:54:02Z

I love that this game is isnspired by one we all used to kill time in 4th grade. The graphics are cool and the gameplay is intuitive. I think I might have found a bug on the first level. When I went to restart the game, it sent me to the tutorial every time. In the long run it's not a big deal at all, just something I noticed. Solid work overall! If you feel like it, please check my game eragator out. It's Guaranteed to make you gag.

Birdy adventures of Sherlock Worm by spacecadet 2021-04-26T23:38:43Z

As others have mentioned, I had a hard time determining the use of the items. Other than that, the game felt very well put together. Nice work on the intro cutscene and general feel. This game could easily become addicting...

Crazy Fishing by Johnathan Peres 2021-04-27T00:02:41Z

Thanks for fixing the link for us! You have me "hooked" lol. I enjoyed the fact that you included famous fish from disney movies like Nemo and Dory. That was a great touch that added a layer of thoughtfulness to your design. The pelican was also neat.

Lunar Laundry by FloGames 2021-04-29T01:25:47Z

man what a cool art style, I'm a sucker for monochrome! I would have rather the speed up/down be toggle-able (instead of needing to hold the buttons down), but that's probably just because I was using my laptop. Also I agree some sound effects and music would really go a long way. Great job!

Magic Forest by RuslanCH 2021-04-27T00:13:37Z

I really enjoyed playing this game. The overall mood was really amazing. I agree with the other commentors in that I became a little dizzy towards the end. Congrats on completing your first game on Unity with coding! I'm seriously impressed!

Where did I Bury It? by GlowGlew 2021-04-27T03:02:51Z

Well done creating a nice game in only 48 hours! I think that there a lot of things that make this game feel satisfying:

1)The graphics were high quality and not too complex. You were able to capture a lot of detail without it being overwhelming. The animations of the dog digging and the worms moving added some life and moevemt to the scene

2)The controls were straightforward and the gameplay felt smooth. It was super easy to get sucked into the world and invested in the dog findng his bone

Something I found slightly confusing at first was the different objects. I thought the worms were enemies and avoided them, only to find out that they were helpful.

Panda Prize Pusher by PhthaloGold 2021-04-27T00:59:13Z

I could have played this game for a lot longer. The overall feel was really engrossing. Nice graphics and unique representation of the theme! I was a bit confused if the goal was to spend more money or save it. Other then that, it was great!

Submarine Bean by Icoso 2021-04-27T01:09:19Z

I can tell you really took your time with the graphics, and they look amazing! The bubbles and little fish in the background give the game an extra layer of depth. The controls were easy to master and the game was fun to play. If you plan on continuing to work on this game, adding some moving enemies would be amazing. Nice job!

Mira's Therapy by ljh572 2021-04-26T22:24:34Z

Really like this game. The visuals, music, and writing all work together so well! I also appreciated the more mature interpretation of the theme. It was a little slow to have to type out the text, then switch to the mouse to actually select a phrase though. Maybe some keyboard navigation would help with that!

Deep Sleep - The Sandman by VeryGenuineCraze 2021-04-26T23:01:18Z

The sounds were maybe my favorite part of this game. As others have mentioned, adding levels of difficulty would make the game feel more challenging and polished. But hey, there is only so much time in a game jam right? Overall, nice work.

Doodle Dig! by romich430 2021-04-26T23:40:12Z

Congrats on completing your first LD Game Jam! I'm excited to try your game once the link gets fixed.

MushDeepMushLeak by lilzilla 2021-04-26T22:53:57Z

I thought the concept of this game was really hillarious! Keep up the good work.

The Search for Catlantis by TheEarthAbides 2021-04-27T00:41:05Z

Man, those graphics are spot on. The game was fun and the controls were easy to master. In my opnion, it got really hard really fast at the end. A more gradual buildup in difficulty would have given me more time to play this amazing game! Nice job.

She Waits Below by AbigailCorfman 2021-04-27T00:06:05Z

I can tell you put a lot of time and effort into the story and dialog in this game. After a few minutes the reading became a bit tedious for me. Overall, Nice work!

Unsigned Hero by Caterpillar Games 2021-04-30T01:55:33Z

I liked how the strategy changed the more monsters were on the screen. I could totally see this expanded with other monster types, different visuals, ect. also it may have taken me way to long to find the alternate ending...

fun to see another pico8 user, great job!

Deep Snails Night by JLMast 2021-04-26T23:33:31Z

Awesome graphics! As @smooches pointed out, it was hard to tell how the combat worked though. Overall well done!

Dungeon Painter by IanTheBee 2021-04-27T03:34:41Z

I'm super impressed that you are 12 and managed to creat such a polished game! Please keep making games and learning new things because you are great at it. Here is what I really enjoyed:

1)The concept of this game was very innovative. You took a simple platformer game put an entirely new twist on it.

2)The tutorial was straighforward and way better than just reading instructions. I appreciate games that make learning the controls interesting, and you did a great job of that.

Overall, the game felt polished and was super fun to play. I agree with @the-neon-shark that it feels a little too "zoomed out", but that can easily be fixed down the road if you decided you want to keep working on this game.

Deeper in Debt by NorthernDonut 2021-04-27T01:05:06Z

This was a really neat little game. I enjoyed the graphics and the unique interpritation of the theme! To make the game last longer, you could add falling clocks every once in a while that would add a few seconds to your alloted time.

SPERMA by the neon shark 2021-04-27T00:33:39Z

Amazing graphics and gameplay. I enjoyed the ability to trade proteins for abilities. The first few times I played this I thought the white spots were what I was supposed to reach. A brief explination at the beginng of the game would have cleared up the confusion for me. Otherwise, stellar job.

LD49 — Unstable

Brainxious by ancient-pixel 2021-10-04T23:44:42Z

I’m glad you didn’t quit on this game even though your hard drive died. It would have been easy just to give up/scrap it, but props to you for finishing! The graphics ended up looking really nice and the idea was super unique. Trying to balance everything in you life is definitely something everyone can relate to. Nice work!

Larry the Vengeful Balloon by Nick Rafalski 2021-10-04T23:18:45Z

This game was surprisingly addictive. It reminded me a lot of the flappy bird mobile game that was popular years ago. Because the controls were deceptivly simple I thought It would be easy to master, but I was wrong! I was stuck on 9 for the longest time before finally making it to a high score of 21. The sound effects, though hilarious, became a bit annoying after a while. However the music totally makes up for it! Great work!

Greedy Miner by KOHCEPBA 2021-10-05T00:25:24Z

This is one of my favorite games of the jam so far. The natural disasters were hilarious. My favorite was catzilla but the most annoying/destructive was the tsunami by far. If you decide you want to keep working on this game I think levels with different win conditions could add a lot of depth to the gameplay. Overall, incredible job. My high score was 6425!

Horse with a Human Mask on A Tightrope by jefvel 2021-10-06T00:33:27Z

Fun game with great humor! I didnt have the patience to make it to the end, but I appreciate the difference between how the 2 weapons worked and the polish of the rope physics!

Also this panel hit me hard haha

Dimension Collapse by AtomFox0213 2021-10-06T21:37:34Z

I really like the graphics in this one, specifically the static screen effect! I also appreciated how snappy it felt moving from room to room. Bummed you didn't have time for the "corruption", it would have been cool to have that tensions

Tectonicalypse by alec 2021-10-04T23:59:48Z

Thanks for the feedback everyone!

@rogual I added a point in the description explaining how city's are destroyed or spawned, hopefully that will help future players.

@chameth I'm glad haha. One of my stretch goals that i didn't end up having time for was to give some of the little people guns to fight back! A rival is interesting.. maybe Tectonica's EX would make an appearance lol

Tectonicalypse by alec 2021-10-05T16:31:57Z

@Jonah_SRG haha thankfully no! An earthquake being in a relationship was just funny to me at midnight lol

Double-Barrel, Single Wheel by trelemar 2021-10-04T23:26:34Z

This game literally made me scream "NO" out-loud when my little robot slowly fell down lol. Great interpretation of the theme. One suggestion would be to make balance a _little_ more forgiving, maybe the balance could become more "precise" as you progressed. Also I love that someone else used tic80!

Bird Attack ! by MrSchlag2 2021-10-05T00:08:25Z

"press space to fall to your death" LOL

super solid graphics and execution, really like the rough sketch art style!

Wibbly-wobbly Tower by Lex 2021-10-08T02:37:16Z

This game reminds me a lot of world of goo. Although the idea is not original, the execution is spot on! Your graphics are beautiful and your controls are tight. Very impressed that you were able to pull this off in one weekend. Well done!

Quadra by Delta Key 2021-10-04T23:30:50Z

I love how you represented the theme within your game. The graphics were polished and the gameplay was very smooth. I really liked the added detail of the white streaks you used to show motion. I’m still a bit confused about what causes a player to loose a life, but that didn’t stop me from becoming immursed in the game!

Stack Up by Barney25052 2021-10-08T02:21:36Z

These graphics are spot on! The sound effects became a little annoying after a while but that’s not a huge deal. I agree with @pbg that independently controlling the trash depositor would be a cool addition if you decide to keep working on this game after the jam.

Pigs by HowlingShame 2021-10-04T23:56:17Z

I was definitely not expecting the carnage that occurred when I failed to keep the pigs happy! That was a humorous surprise. The gameplay was a bit difficult for me to get the hang of. There were times when I thought i was dropping a pig into a pen and it ended up on the ground. After some experimentation I learned where I needed to release in order to hit my target, so it’s not that big of an issue in the end. Great graphics as well, I enjoy your art style.

Gem of Stability by JakobTheQuizGuy 2021-10-06T22:05:09Z

Super polished game with great art and music! I specifically liked the sound effects of when an enemy was hit, and the main characters frantic run. I could easily see this expanded with different types of enemies, and maybe different platform shapes!

Meowgician by Paul-Maxime 2021-10-04T23:44:59Z

Wonderful pixel art and animation! I wish the cat would have moved a little faster, and maybe it would be good if it displayed how much time was left. Oh also having the music speed up really added to the frantic nature of things, great touch!

Don't Melt by OwlyCode 2021-10-05T22:42:00Z

As some others have mentioned, it was a bit difficult for me to understand the mechanics at first. I could not figure out which lever was which and nuked the place twice before I got the hang of it. That being said, once I figured evertything out the gameplay was really smooth and polished. I could easily see myself getting sucked into playing this game for longer than intended.

HOLD IT by Cloistered 2021-10-08T02:20:33Z

Wonderful idea, and great execution! I'd love to hear some audio with this, maybe a crowd shouting "oooh" and "aaahh"

Unstable Investments by Japayne 2021-10-06T01:01:25Z

Unique take on the theme, with great consistent artwork! Enjoyed waiting for the perfect time to buy low and sell high. Im conflicted on the time it takes to take money. on one hand its no fun waiting, but it also makes you plan ahead and maybe feel the frantic feeling of not being able to withdrawl all your money from a crashing stock lol.

Also note after a while all the stock options flatlined, not sure if that was a bug

SheepWorm by Elmos Minion 2021-10-05T00:03:41Z

Me when I enter the Arena: sonofa_shepard.jpg

jokes aside, any chance you could post a Linux build? I'd love to give this a try

SheepWorm by Elmos Minion 2021-10-05T23:32:32Z

@elmos-minion finally had a chance to try the Linux build, everything worked well for me (on Ubuntu)! Thanks for taking the time to add linux :)

The game was much more relaxing and trippy then I thought it would be haha. Good job!

Lucky Lefty Loves Landslides by TheBookSnail 2021-10-06T01:10:50Z

Kinda like Alto's Odyssey but with snails, fun! I appreciate the Diskworld reference, I think we can all relate to the elephant when he felt trapped lol

Sanity Check by BinaryPrinciple 2021-10-05T00:10:36Z

I appreciate the thought you put into all of the text bubbles. The concept fits the theme great and I enjoyed the graphics a lot.

It was a bit difficult for me to get the hang of jumping, which made it difficult to maneuver around the levels at first.

Overall, you have created an enjoyable gameplay experience. Nice work!

Stabilaser by Unfocused Locust Games 2021-10-06T00:12:00Z

This game accomplished the thing every puzzle game strives for, it made me feel clever. Specifically When you had to freeze the button when you walked on it, clever! I just wish it was longer haha

....To the Ends of the World and Back by Peace Of Cake Games 2021-10-04T23:35:44Z

I also had my mouse cursor disappear, which made completing the minigames challenging. I really enjoyed the flying through space effect, and as others have said blending visual novel with other mechanics is really creative!

Stompin' Grounds by FloGames 2021-10-05T00:12:52Z

fun take on a marble game. Seeing the little bridges hop with the shockwaves made me wish there were other physic objects. I think it would be cool to have to dodge boxes, or roll through ball pits! Also an audio cue when the shockwaves happened would nice, so that i could anticipate and respond to it without needing to see it!

RadioFrog by Dylen 2021-10-04T23:50:29Z

the pro gamer strategy is to jump on top the evil bug things ;)

It took me a minute to find the correct button to explode the frog. Speaking of the frog really enjoyed his sprite, specifically his crossed eyes hah

Noinun40 by Itzemii 2021-10-08T02:09:52Z

Super fun and creative take on the match (nt) 3. The music got a little annoying after a while, but could totally myself playing this a lot

Wobbly Cannonry by LucDeligne 2021-10-06T00:19:00Z

Oh man I love this idea, one of my favorites I've played so far. I felt super cool when I wobbled the turret just right to take out a monster. The art is also top notch. My one complaint is that it the turrets were a little too wobble, to the point I couldn't really move without immediately loosing them all

Cytoplasm Madness by dagon 2021-10-06T00:06:42Z

Super polished game for you first LD, great job! I had a hard time understanding what the little blue guys did, maybe a short tutorial would have been good. The art is super crisp, great music, and I appreciated the little detail of bullets having some auto-honing (nice touch)

Stumblewood by Medley Studios 2021-10-06T21:32:47Z

I agree a longer tutorial would have helped a lot. I really liked the menu music, and think theres an idea with "stacking" the stuff on the moving sapling guys. Also some smoother easing on the camera would have helped the feel a lot, but maybe that was just because of the Web version

Kattonauten by Elastic 2021-10-04T23:15:20Z

Man I'm horrible at this game, but I still love it! Super polished game and always fun to see Pico8 games :)

Tip-See-Saw by MickyHC 2021-10-06T01:18:55Z

Made it 125 seconds! I liked the extra chaos of not knowing exactly where you would drop the boxes, great job!

LD50 — Delay the inevitable

Glide'r Die by adamk33n3r 2022-04-07T17:54:56Z

Super addictive, just the right amount of challenge for me to keep trying till the end. Although the art was really simple, flying felt really good which is the most important part. Would love to see more levels

Adelie - Chasing Pavements by Meep 2022-04-07T17:09:00Z

it took me a minute to get a hang of throwing, and even then Im not good enough at video games to get the ending haha. I love seeing pico8 games, especially ones that get off the grid/map! This game is super polished, just needs some background music :)

Dont Wake Up! by Bloham 2022-04-06T01:31:28Z

Super strong mood, specifically I liked how the music and the visuals paired so well together! Took me a minute to find the first clock, I wonder how many there are!

Can't Escape Your Past by Marcenat 2022-04-08T13:16:32Z

There's some really neat level design here. I liked how you slowly introduced mechanics, and reused layouts with a slight twist. As others have said, the wall jump could definitely use some some tweaking to the "feel", maybe something like a jump buffer that allows jumping off walls a couple frames before or after touching it would help (though I'm just spitballing). Also I really liked the music, especially with the slow down and speed up effects!

Coffee Run by jelch 2022-04-07T15:05:03Z

Love the FMV cutscenes and sound effects, really helps set the mood. I made the mistake of playing the game without going through the tutorial, but once I did that it was an interesting take on pacman haha

Rise n Time by alec 2022-04-04T18:18:00Z

@orukinawa I'm glad you noticed those! I think every level except 5 has a safety zone

Rise n Time by alec 2022-04-04T18:18:41Z

thank you @julienlussiez @redsti and @rustywolf for the kind comments :)

Rise n Time by alec 2022-04-04T20:56:28Z

@linus-lindberg I'm seriously impressed. I haven't managed to pass that last level yet!

Rise n Time by alec 2022-04-04T21:10:05Z

@linus-lindberg thank you! and dang well done that last level is **not** easy haha

Rise n Time by alec 2022-04-07T20:36:01Z

@meep I love the idea of moving obstacles (or platforms)! The safe spots were actually added to every level just as a fun Jam thing :), but they're definitely cheesy. I'm a big fan of TIC-80, specifically that it supports additional scripting languages besides Lua. This game was actually written in a lisp like language called Fennel!

Escape from Nowhere by lbrande 2022-04-07T13:27:28Z

Simple but addictive gameplay. One thing I think this game would benefit from is a slightly smaller hitbox for the car, or maybe the introduction of "coyote time". It seemed like even if the tinyest pixel went over the edge it was game over!

Tax Haven by Weirdybeardyman 2022-04-07T16:46:40Z

Man this is super polished! Loved the little details like the seagulls flying. Its like the old tron game on water, fun take on the theme. Not a lot to critique, well done

Helly Belly by lootgrounds 2022-04-07T03:40:37Z

Love the minimal colors and how you distilled the twin stick shooter down to a single stick haha. I could easily see this on phones. Easily one of the best games I played here so far!

Parachute by JulienLussiez 2022-04-04T21:10:56Z

Quality games don't have to be complex, this is a perfect example of that. I enjoyed the chill vibe but only managed to find one word. If you ever want to tweak the game play in the future you could add more levels or a time limit. Well done!

The Last Savior by JustusPan 2022-04-07T03:34:08Z

I liked how the different attacks required different positioning. Sometimes it did feel like I had to be a little too close to enemies to make contact. Overall extremely high quality game for a jam!

Battery Low by Milestone Games 2022-04-06T01:54:16Z

loved the little sound effects the robot makes!

Alchemy by Rustywolf 2022-04-04T21:27:35Z

It took me a minute to realize that there are two different table set-ups. Once I realized what was going on I was able to easily navigate to the correct table and start making potions. If you decide to keep working on this game, it might be cool to have all the ingredients on one table and the cauldron/fire/stir stick on another. But seriously neat little game. The graphics and lighting were absolutely beautiful, and you can never go wrong with an alchemy game.

Awakening by 1studio 2022-04-06T01:58:54Z

I really liked the simple art style and the different apps! I wasn't really sure how close I was to getting up, maybe that was the number at the bottom? Also I wish the music loop was a little longer

Space Ninja by mhorth 2022-04-07T03:48:14Z

Super addictive, and super cool menu design! Would be cool to see more types of unique asteroids. Well done!

Cup Half Full by BangTheWall 2022-04-07T15:21:40Z

One interesting thing with this game is that I started focusing on blocks at the bottom of the stack (instead of the top like in vanilla tetris)

Race Fighter by redsti 2022-04-04T21:18:42Z

I am definitely not good at this game. It took me a bit to get the hang of the controls because I'm using a touch pad a not a mouse, but it was definitely fun to play! Also, you can never go wrong with the neon and black combo. If you decide to keep improving upon this game in the future, I love @jordwest suggestion of adding health bars for enemies.

Delay the inevitable - Death by sephyr 2022-04-06T02:58:47Z

the death sound effect made me laugh out loud. I had a hard time understanding the rules of how the objects interacted though

Over the Rainbow Bridge by Iguanana 2022-04-06T01:41:18Z

well now I need to go pet my dog.. anyways great submission!

plant. by badcop 2022-04-04T21:01:52Z

I appreciate how this game fits well with the theme and also manages to be super calming. Nice job on the graphics, it was super helpful how you were able to rotate the pot to get at leaves from different angles.

Lone Bastion by Cosmo8 2022-04-04T23:38:38Z

Lots of interesting and unique ideas here! I liked how switching between rooms changed up the weapon, I also really liked the visuals (specifically the film grain like lines effect). Not much to critique, well done!

Fart Competitions by PureImprov 2022-04-06T01:37:37Z

I now feel completely immersed in the Japanese Edo era.

Caveman Bob and the Inevitable Dawn by Elias Newton 2022-04-04T23:50:35Z

"apply club to mosquito" lol. I wish the platforms when up higher, and that maybe the mosquitos didnt spawn so quickly (it got out of hand _very_ quickly lol). Over nice job though, its cool to see a project written in rust!

LD51 — Every 10 seconds

Binary Blasterz『ロボット 弾幕』 by Junber 2022-10-04T00:47:18Z

What a great take on the theme! The addition of the second ship that shoots back felt really good after running away for a couple levels. I also really liked how the counter ticked down in binary, and the 1bit graphics fit great!

Gelato Drift by thomz12 2022-10-04T15:13:44Z

This is so fun to play. I appreciated how the audio changed at the end of the game when the time ran out. Time pressure feels spot on... chaotic but not to the point where it's frustrating/feels impossible to complete the task.

Tecton Inc. by notnasiul 2022-10-05T00:16:43Z

That lava effect is amazing... definitely going to steal that! The text on the initial screen was a little hard to read, and I wish I could jump on the little lava monsters to kill them! But it felt really good when I deposited a huge stack of gems all at once.

great job!

Base Defense by pvg 2022-10-04T15:27:46Z

Nice work! I found myself needing to really focus on defense vs collecting shards, which was an awesome challenge that felt fun. Like @gamejmunk said, the tractor beam feels a bit slow, but that's something that could easily be modified in the future. Keep making games, you are good at it!

Cold Coffee in 10… by Elastiskalinjen 2022-10-04T00:27:21Z

Expected something really simple when I started playing, but was quickly impressed with how new ideas and complications kept on being added. Audio was a little sparse, I wish there was a tune playing to round everything out. I love how the little characters jump-walk!

well done!

Pancake Simulator by alec 2022-10-03T16:19:39Z

@crocidb ya the camera was something I wish a had a little more time to dial in! Also with source hut crashing your browser... that's interesting. I'll try updating the link to point to the raw file, instead the fancy webpage.

Pancake Simulator by alec 2022-10-17T15:11:54Z

@mr-rice its written in [Fennel](https://fennel-lang.org/), which is a lisp-like language that compiles to Lua!

Sheeple by Jonathan Holm 2022-10-04T00:33:59Z

that eye opening animation is awesome!

Arkentower by Rayne 2022-10-04T01:22:38Z

I like the idea of mashing up a tower defense game and an "endless jumper" (you remember Doodle Jump??). The character controls were very "slidey", by that I mean I would try increasing the friction on the character so they slow downed faster. Also thank you for letting me jump on enemys heads in adittion to using the towers :)

bäbäböx X by Kultisti 2022-10-05T00:42:50Z

The sound effects and music really stood out to me (in a good way). It took me a while to figure out how the platform timers worked, maybe that something that could have been part of the tutorial? Over all great take on the theme, and thanks for going for a whacky style !

Golova by Rexagon 2022-10-04T01:12:04Z

I got a "If you're seeing this error, it means I can't find your index.html file." error when attempting to run the game :(

Nova Pulse Bakery by WegPast 2022-10-04T20:46:09Z

Finally, someone has combined two of my favorite things in one game. Bread + space = perfection

In all seriousness the graphics and mood of this game are amazing. I found myself a bit confused about what steps to take in order to produce a loaf. The descriptions by each machine were helpful but as a visual learner I appreciate picture tutorials. That being said, there is only so much time in a game jam, and you completed a polished game here. You can always add a tutorial later if you decide that's something you are interested in. Nice work!

Racoon-aissance by Kimmyx47 2022-10-04T19:58:30Z

Graphics and audio are spot on. I had a very difficult time finding the last one, but managed to complete the game in 500+ seconds. You should totally run with your idea of more levels.

Rockatoo by AdamCYounis 2022-10-05T00:09:47Z

Love the idea of adding improve to rhythm games (which can often not have a lot of room for expressiveness)

Swapwood Quest R by Saturnyoshi 2022-10-05T00:05:45Z

Love the artwork and music! it was a little hard to do any sort of planning based on the incoming attacks. Seemed like I was just trying to get any match 3. Overall good take on the theme, and a really impressive level of polish and content!

PS: this game reminds me a little of "Pick Pack Pup" on the Playdate

Needy Pixel Kitties by Aaron Smith 2022-10-04T00:55:02Z

Someone needs to get your daughter a podcast or something. She sounded very enthusiastic and really got me excited to play this game.

As others have mentioned, the gameplay is smooth and the graphics are really cute...phenomenal work. I agree with @madeofst that the first level felt a bit slow, (even taking into account getting used to the controls)but that's just my preference. In the future it could be fun to make a dog version of this.

Hats off to you for creating a polished game and giving your kid a chance to do something new.

10 Second Dating by dreamscale 2022-10-04T01:34:10Z

I really enjoyed the concept of this game. When I was brainstorming ideas speed dating came to mind but was unable to figure out gameplay for that concept. Nice job doing what I couldn't!

I had a bit of a hard time catching the question bubbles. Making them bigger or having them move slower might help make that part easier. I was also using a track pad instead of a mouse, which may account for the difficultly I experienced.

Overall, great work.

Cat.exe by Alpha Wolf Studios 2022-10-04T01:10:15Z

Love the windows 95 aesthetic! The cat runners movement was very floaty, making it hard to do the jumps. Also it seemed like sometime a jump wouldn't register when I thought it would. I like that you guys included a leaderboard.

Clockmachine Chaos by SirMilkman 2022-10-04T00:41:02Z

super impressed by the polish on this one! the addition of keys and the ">" blocks really added depth. It was however a little hard to gauge when block would fill in or fade out, even with the timer over the characters head.

well done!

Stoked by Alexzoin 2022-10-04T00:58:49Z

Surprisingly calming, given the frantic-ness of the gameplay. It was a little too hard for me to ever live long enough to buy a soldier. I also really liked the fire particle effect, and the color palette in general!

Faster Food by Ani 2022-10-04T01:19:14Z

Dang, I am bad at this game. After what felt like 5 minutes I was finally able to complete an order correctly lol Even though I was frustrated I wanted to keep playing because the vibes were so hilarious and wholesome. Fits the theme spot on and the audio really added to the chaos.

It took me a while to figure out that the items outlined in brown were being served, and that the meal didn't have to be assembled to be considered complete. If you decide to add on to this game in the future, a tutorial might eliminate some confusion for new players.

I checked out your itch page and have to say that the art style of all your games is so quirky and amazing. Keep up the good work!

You vs. the clock featuring the narrator by ljg 2022-10-04T20:04:59Z

I laughed out loud when the duck appeared. Really enjoyed this game and the narrative take on the theme. If anything I agree with @xorel about the text scrolling felt a bit long. Having the text instantly appear would give players more time to make decisions and enjoy the hilarious stories you created. Keep making games!

Insecticide by unprecedented 2022-10-04T20:52:51Z

@unprecedented I would love to try this game out but am unable to download due to lack of storage on my device. Do you have an online version of this or no? Just from the screenshots it looks really fun. My wife has a garden and is always complaining about the bugs eating her plants lol

LD53 — Delivery

Continuous Factory by congusbongus 2023-05-04T02:29:28Z

made it through all the levels and had a blast doing it! This has some really well made puzzles. There were a bunch where I was stumped and then had that "AHA" moment. It would have been nice if I could move the camera around. Other then that I just wanted more levels haha. Also the music in this is super nice, I'm definitely going to explore the SFX's to see how you made some of those sounds

IceCream Van by notnasiul 2023-05-06T00:28:54Z

Lots of cool pico8 effects on display here! The water, van tred lines, and particles are all super well done.

Oregon Truck by frosty 2023-05-03T02:05:05Z

Super polished game!. 20 years of jams really shows. I laughed at the silly names of the gangs. I cant believe im saying this, but I probably should have gambled more at the camps since I ran out of money pretty fast lol.

Deliver by Zirrrus 2023-05-04T01:01:30Z

Nice job, I found myself super relaxed while playing this game. In my opinion game play feels a bit stale at times, but you only have so much time in a game jam. You can always go back and add some more mechanics later. Overall, a well polished game that matches the theme well.

Ancient Order of Michaels by MaiMai 2023-05-04T01:14:50Z

"Have you ever wondered why there are so many Michaels?"

every day of my life..

funny premise! I wish the cursor was faster, as everything felt slow

Deliver Us From Evil by F1Krazy 2023-05-07T18:41:35Z

Always great to see another game in tic80 (@alanxoc3 I use it also )! I was impressed by the veriety of enemies and mechanics you were able to add. As others have said the collision had some bugs, but one other thing I'd suggest changing is making the attack sweep bigger.

Peculiar Parcel Pioneers by svdvorak 2023-05-04T01:22:35Z

I couldnt figure out how to actually deliver a package, but reading all the text and seeing the artwork (both ai generated??) was neat

Rush Delivery by Dongle 2023-05-04T01:44:43Z

The artwork is super solid! I kept on buying a soda, only to have nobody asking for it haha. This game is interesting because its one step up from an idle style game

Dungeonfalls by Majadroid 2023-05-04T00:57:22Z

always interesting to see fresh takes on tetris. I honestly never used the "lock in place" feature, as it caused more problems then it solved. The art and variety of pieces was nice!

Time for Lunch by zep 2023-05-03T01:42:37Z

@thomaspixelart only 14 restarts??!! I had like 50 haha.

I love how complete this game feels. It tells a story, explores the mechanic, and there's no bugs or glaring problems.

Dino delivery service by Netarion Swan 2023-05-04T01:09:06Z

fun take on flappy birds. It took me a minute to figure out how delivering eggs worked, and it was a little hard to tell what would end the game. The artwork and music was really cute though!

Postominoes by Rawb 2023-05-03T01:04:13Z

I liked how the gameplay shifted from first learning the mechanics, then trying to optimize the truck. But in the later levels since the boxes were so big you had to memorizing the locations of the houses and really optimize your route.

Office Invasion by Uppitydonkey57 2023-05-03T00:24:47Z

I laughed out loud the first time I threw the office men at an unexpected speed lol. There were some instances where my character died from nothing. Also I think a jump buffer would really help the game feel. I also specifically liked the characters bouncy animation!

Packet by Defrag 2023-05-03T01:24:09Z

As others said this is super polished and has potential to become a full release! I think it would be really neat if you could click and drag you're way through the network, instead of needing to click on each node. Also, I feel like the time for each packet was a little too quick, as I was unable to really engage with the actual message at all

Little Oni by chris1919 2023-05-04T00:18:45Z

Gosh this is easily one of the best game jam games I've played in a while! A unique take on the theme with tons of style and polish. The one critique I have was it would be nice to be able to have some control of the babys arc. I would seriously consider expanding this

Air Fast Chaos by MadR 2023-05-03T00:33:33Z

Fun take on the theme, and well executed. It got repetitive pretty quickly, but I could totally see this expanded with different neighborhood layouts or maybe even multiplayer!

04 Mail Service by Asieke 2023-05-03T00:39:57Z

Makes me want to try my hand at hex movement! I think the having the controls be a little non-standard is part of this games charm, it would be too easy otherwise :)

Volksdam by Wuppos 2023-05-10T00:33:04Z

really nice art and general vibes. I feel like there should have been a penalty for clicking the arrow keys when not over a house. However I had fun trying to get "in the zone" when things got fast!

If I Fits, I Sits by Vykri 2023-05-04T01:26:50Z

You know it's going to be a good game when there are fluffy buddies involved. I thought the concept of this game was hilarious and unique. Each time a vase broke I found myself muttering in frustration just like I would be doing in a real life scenario with my cat breaking something. I agree with @recursor that the controls are a bit sensitive for my taste, but that is totally just personal preference. Nice job, you should be proud!

Corgi Cargo Combat by Zerfalex 2023-05-04T01:01:51Z

As a dog owner I connect to this game. Quick and light hearted, well done!

We Suck At Deliveries by Blo 2023-05-04T01:56:49Z

10/10 game title lol. Like others said the controls were a little finicky. I could see this game design really shining with a more varied environment. For some reason I'm thinking of the city from the old "simpson hit and run" game haha.

Congrats on the first jam submission, great job!

Dire Delivery by AristoRat 2023-05-04T01:35:01Z

I really like the music, and the ending ;). Towards the end of the game the ship got big enough that there was really no dodging those asteroids. Like @wahooney suggested rotating the structure would be neat!

Return To Sender by hacktic 2023-05-03T00:46:40Z

final severance was 0.62. Like others said the pacing of introducing new rules was great. Side note, it took me way too long to realize I could drag the instructions out of view haha

LD54 — Limited Space

River Dance by mdotedot 2023-10-02T17:41:11Z

The title of this game made me snort. Great sense of humor in this puzzle solver! I really enjoyed playing this game and trying to solve the different levels. It took me a minute to figure out that some dancers move in lines/as a group instead of individually. Maybe that's something you could think about adding to your tutorial to help players better understand the mechanics. Keep up the great work!

Astro's Ladder by alec 2023-10-02T22:34:55Z

@bloodyaugust thanks for the review and report, sorry you got soft locked! I'll have to dig into why that would have happened

Astro's Ladder by alec 2023-10-02T22:37:07Z

@john-gabriel thank you for the comment and report on slowdown! I also got some slowdown, but only on certain computers. I wonder if it could be browser dependent. The game is definitely NOT optimized, so that definitely is a factor.

In any case, I'll add some native builds for people to download which should run faster then the browser build.

Astro's Ladder by alec 2023-10-02T22:39:20Z

@pe7e thank you for the comment! For what its worth, you can adjust the global volume on tic80 games by

1. hitting escape to bring up the pause screen 2. going to options 3. adjusting the volume toggle (0 is muted)

just in case you run into any tic80 games in the future

Astro's Ladder by alec 2023-10-06T22:38:07Z

@zealous-coder that does not look like "Good Posture" to me

Limited Headspace by OadT 2023-10-02T15:47:32Z

Really unique interpretation of the theme! I glitched out of the tutorial a couple times, but after restarting I was able to receive the rest of the instructions and understand what to do. I'm glad I did because this game was so fun to play! I really enjoy logic puzzles and was so pleased to see an entry like this. Nice job!

New Apartment by Jiri Hysek 2023-10-02T18:40:02Z

Great attention to detail! Love the graphics, especially the the little gnomes on the side of the boxes. Movement mechanics were a bit hard for me to pick up, I think having a bigger arrow indicating direction might have helped me get the hang of it quicker. Overall great game.

More Minerals by Kyoute 2023-10-04T00:38:34Z

I really liked the art! Having upgrades be specific shapes you have to fit together reminded me of the "panel system" from the old kingdom hearts game on DS lol. I do feel like the health of monsters grew faster then my mining speed, which kind of slowed things down.

Behind The Darkness by Squeele 2023-10-04T02:37:58Z

superb mood! specifically really liked the 3d shadows on the trees. The movement was a little slow and I wasn't really sure where to go though

Whack-a-Soul by JavaSaurus 2023-10-05T00:39:31Z

I'm a big fan of puns so I really appreciate your title. I like that this game felt like something I would play in an arcade as a kid. The chip-tune music was also great!

Pattern by Jammin 2023-10-02T18:22:35Z

Really like the graphics and music of this game... very calming. I am having some trouble figuring out how to get the character to jump from one color to another. I am able to move it around to the side but when i change it to blue it starts floating upwards and nothing I do can stop it. Cold be user error or a bug somewhere. Overall nice concept, keep it up!

Crate Crammer by Kartik Kini 2023-10-02T17:32:58Z

Screenshot from 2023-10-02 12-28-52.png

Honestly this is my favorite game I have rated so far. On my first try I ran out of fuel before I was able to make any deliveries. Here is my score for my second try. The movement took a bit of getting used to but once I got the hand of it, I was CRUZIN. Because of the way you designed this game you get a different challenge every time without having a different map layout to memorize. Excellent job!

If I Fits, I Sits! by cheesepencil 2023-10-04T01:22:07Z

Aye another tic80 user! This little game is so addictive, well done. The purr sound effect is also really good, I'll have to look to see how you did it

Fridge Frenzy by ScottMakesGames 2023-10-02T17:16:46Z

Heads up you link is broken. Maybe you forgot to make it public? Excited to try this game!Screenshot from 2023-10-02 12-16-04.png

Cosmic Exodus: Race Against the Void by merc37 2023-10-06T01:41:44Z

fun little game! felt kinda bad for the people to didn't want to go with me

Clockwork Tower by chompdev 2023-10-04T02:45:20Z

This might be my favorite game I've played so far. The mood is just off the charts, made my skin crawl a couple times from not know what would happen. The ending made me ask more questions and play the game again, though I'm not sure how to get the other ending lol

great job!

Greeting Card Maker by Adam Konig 2023-10-02T18:31:11Z

Screenshot from 2023-10-02 13-24-44.png Very proud of myself for managing to get the whole first card complete in one line... reminds me of how my bubble letters looked in my elementary school days lol

Rabbit Reporter by LucaVazz 2023-10-05T01:54:59Z

As others have said the art is really great here! I think it would be awesome if textbox was themed with the same art style. Also I think this is a good idea, limited space on the newspaper is a really unique take on the theme!

Boo! Bark! by Doot 2023-10-02T17:52:10Z

When I attacked for the first time my dog barked on the couch next to me. Adorable/spooky graphics and love the mechanics. My first jam I made a similar game called "Super Corgie Drifter". I'm excited to take a look at your code and compare it to mine. Great submission!

Bee Catcher by Jeremy Klassen 2023-10-04T01:00:20Z

Having the bees slow down when they got close to you was a nice touch, kept the tension high!

Galaxy in a Box by Haydads 2023-10-08T00:03:38Z

I appreciate how immediatly accessible this game is. The tutorial gets you going right into the fun real quick!

Island Mushroom Rescue by Pe7e 2023-10-02T17:12:57Z

I don't typically play resource games, but I found myself enjoying this one. The graphics are great and the tutorial made everything easy to understand. If you want to keep working on this game in the future you could add some sort of grid system so that players know exactly where they can and can't place a mushroom. There were a couple times I knew there was enough space for another shroom but I couldn't place one. I eventually got it after wiggling things around a tiny bit. Obviously its a jam so there isn't time for everything you want to do. Overally great work! I failed the first time but was able to save 11 after giving it another shot.

Homeward by Wuppos 2023-10-05T00:30:43Z

Screenshot from 2023-10-04 19-27-29.png Barely scraped by on my second play through. Such a fun game and great interpretation of the theme. The colors are very pleasant and I love the variety of outcomes/how you can learn as you play. Keep up the great work!

Pandalele by owca 2023-10-02T15:33:25Z

I want to start a band with this lil panda. The aesthetics of this game are very soothing. Made it about halfway through the song before running out of space. I found myself getting a bit frustrated with needing to hold down the click button to harvest, but overall the mechanics were smooth and this game was very enjoyable to play.

CosmoTrasher by Prologi 2023-10-02T16:55:53Z

I was drawn to this game because of the amazing graphics. You have some really interesting mechanics here. This game felt unique and was fun to play. I agree with @baturinsky that it would be nice to have arrows indicating where the nearest objects are. There were times I found myself in a spot where I overshot and knew a planet was nearby but couldn't see it. You should be proud of yourself, this is a great game.

KAAMOS by PabloAbraham 2023-10-05T01:13:16Z

super great art and writing! Unfortunately the first settlement I went to caused the game to soft lock, as I was prompted with some text but unable to proceed.

A MAN WITH A PAN by 6len 2023-10-05T01:38:47Z

fun little game, made me want to eat some breakfast! The cook times for the food I think were a little slow, since it felt like I was spending a lot of time simply waiting.

Skyfallers by almageddon 2023-10-08T00:08:00Z

Fun quick little game, Congrats on submitting your first submission!

The next thing I would have worked on would have been a title and game over screen. I also really like @p-zzz's suggestions :)

Eye of the Storm by Rogue_Snake 2023-10-04T00:42:07Z

I like how the moving storm encourages you to explore different areas of the map. It kind of reminds me of the storm in the game "the Pathless". As @galabyca said it can be hard to know when you're in the storm or not, maybe some sort of audio queue or other visual effect would have helped?

Pactory by Ralian 2023-10-02T16:42:11Z

The physics on this thing are insane lol I'm guessing that was intentional to add to make things a bit more difficult and humorous. Nice job!

SPICE LIMITED by LePeridot 2023-10-04T02:57:14Z

The game was really relaxing right up until I hear the screams of the native peoples.. really made me start thinking (which Im guessing was the point ). The game overall is super polished and pleasing to look at

well done!

Keep Inside by Wallbreaker5th 2023-10-04T00:55:34Z

Love the faces on the little circle guy. I think this is a really strong idea that could translate well to mobile touch screens! I do wish the vertices moved a little faster though

LD55 — Summoning

Hot Wax 🕯️ by TRASEVOL_DOG 2024-04-19T23:57:03Z

Love the little effect with the flame, and explosive tip lol. This game has revealed just how bad I am at Tetris. With some music & SFX I think this could be a standout hit!

Upcard Writ by alec 2024-04-19T00:03:36Z

thank you @rawb @turbolaser @lightningst and @congusbongus for the comments!

Bail Out! by Historymaker118 2024-04-20T00:04:31Z

Amazing game! I really appreciated the sense of humor and how well it matched the theme given. My one comment is that sometimes it was difficult for me to tell where I could go because some walls seemed to be made out of the same texture as the roads. Really a minor thing in a game this fun. Nice work!

Sminer by LightningST 2024-04-18T23:56:38Z

Interesting take on dig dug! It was hard to keep track of what was happening in my castle, and I found myself just digging as fast as possible

Summonion by KeithSwanger 2024-04-19T23:36:37Z

I really enjoyed playing this game, although I wasn't the best at it... only made it until day 2. Part of the problem is that I'm playing on my laptop with a trackpad instead of a mouse. I agree with @marcodeevil that it would be nice to be able to click anywhere to spawn instead of needing to hit the green button. Making that small change could make gameplay feel even more fluid. Overall a hilarious, well polished game that is fun to play. Well done!

Globeba by Saturnyoshi 2024-04-19T23:49:28Z

super impressed by both the amount and quality of this game! Was having a blast, but unfortunately I believe I was softlocked in the second dungeon when I received the wrong key type (silver instead of gold right before the end).

The Royal Writ by Save Sloth Studios 2024-04-19T18:37:42Z

easily one of the most polished game jams I've ever played, period. Everything from the art to music to card movement was just really impressive. One critique I have is that the game was very easy, those yellow knight were OP!

Funnily, I also made a card based game with the word "writ" in it

Revenge of Lord Chicken by Sergio_gp11 2024-04-19T17:55:39Z

the camera movement with aiming was really smooth! However I feel like the spawn rate of bad chickens was so low compared to the spawn rate of eggs that I really didn't need to shoot.

Crystalline by TripleCubes 2024-04-18T23:51:39Z

First of all the music in this game absolutely slaps, great job on that! The most interesting part of the design to me was how the crystals bounces around. I could totally see that being expanded to having the tile they bounced off effect the summoned creature! Awesome submission!

Remnant Revival by subzerofusion 2024-04-19T17:46:46Z

I really enjoyed the pixel art, especially how the items spun around when you grabbed them. Like others I was confused by what caused forfeits. Though I wanted to keep trying different item combinations to see what I would summon!

mouche(s)? by PieRo_PBeS_studio 2024-04-21T00:19:32Z

that bug splat effect is absolutely bonkers lol! I do wish the book would re-spawn back a starting point between rounds. Cute little game well done!

LD57 — Depths

Target Practice by JCMonkey 2025-04-11T02:21:47Z

Love the simplicity of this concept and had a blast playing this game! Turns out I stink at shooting games because my accuracy was pretty abysmal. I liked how the targets change direction and get a speed boost every time they get hit. It adds a nice element of chaos and kept me from just following one target and spamming it.

Depths Space 9 by Wisch 2025-04-09T23:54:27Z

I really liked the warp visuals, reminded me of that classic windows screensaver! I think the time to game over was too short, and as other said some more ways to change the view would have helped keep things fresh.

BUMMÖCK by alec 2025-04-12T13:03:11Z

@jtap @t90 @fireye Making the restart button "S" was definitely a bad idea on my part! I totally forgot about how common WASD controls were, and that I had even implemented them lol.

thank you all for playing and rating!

DEEP DEEP DIG DIG by NoytroO 2025-04-11T02:37:23Z

Incredible and hilarious take on the theme! A couple years ago I made a similar game but with a q-tip collecting ear wax. Great minds think alike lol

Camp Ketosis by Genesis 2025-04-11T02:12:18Z

I really enjoyed the art style of the mushroom zombies! The first one snuck up on me and spooked me a bit which was really fun. It was a bit difficult for me to tell where my punch was going to hit, but overall great job.

Apnea by JulienLussiez 2025-04-12T13:39:41Z

This is one of the games that will stick with me because it ends up being more then the sum of its parts. The mechanics and visuals are simple, but the it makes you _actually_ do something in the real world is just amazing! I also really appreciated how the audio changes as you dive.

well done!

Grandpet by deadroach 2025-04-09T23:51:34Z

Excited to try this once the HTML version is up!

Through the Brush by JDeeDubs 2025-04-10T02:27:14Z

Such a unique mechanic switching layers like that. It took me a minute to get the hang of the controls, but seriously impressive work. The ability to see the whole map is a super helpful feature.

Super Pyonpon by Saturnyoshi 2025-04-10T00:42:00Z

Holy molly the quality and amount of content in this game is crazy! the core mechanic feels great, and all the different block and enemies kept things fresh. My favorite were the rockets. I could play a full length version of this game. Well done

A Hill to Die For by Ogladian 2025-04-11T02:41:45Z

As others have mentioned, I had a hard time figuring out the controls. Other then that the game is nice and I like the artwork.

Shroomberg by GlebSviripa 2025-04-10T02:38:09Z

I love a good mushroom game. As others have mentioned, I had some difficulty with screen sizing and being able to see the enemy 'shrooms/know what was going on. All that to say, once I was able to orient myself I enjoyed playing this game and interacting with the cute characters.

Scampi by apoly 2025-04-10T00:50:30Z

Really loved playing this game. It gives off such "cozy" and wholesome vibes. The upgrades were really fun, and I especially enjoyed getting to add more arms and make them long. One thing to note, it took me a while to realize that "engine purr" meant engine speed. I floated around very slowly for a while before figuring that out. I'm a dummy and thought that choosing that upgrade would make the engine sound louder lol

No Bottom by Manuel Cabrerizo 2025-04-11T02:56:20Z

I saw the flying squirrel and knew I had to give this game a try. In my opinion the initial fall through the forest is a bit long, but other than that I really had fun. Humorous take on the theme as well!

Dungeon Chef by Clare_Chan1738 2025-04-11T02:49:55Z

I had the same problem as @johnnysix where I got stuck and couldn't finish, but restarting solved the issue. This game was really fun to play and had a great sense of humor! You clearly put a lot of thought into the customers and the recipe book. Nice job!

Esca - Ludum Dare 57 by bakuzen 2025-04-09T23:59:53Z

well done on your first solo jam! Mechanic was simple but fun, reminded me of trying to keep a balloon up for as long as possible :balloon:

Shelter from the Blight by Yiraa 2025-04-10T00:28:52Z

The hex game board reminds me of Catan! I really enjoyed the graphics and had fun playing. Unfortunately I ran into the same problem as @philocode. I made it to the second level but was unable to build anything as I didn't have enough wood. Since the first level was corrupted and I was no longer able to place lumberjacks I got stuck and had to quit. Overall, great job! With a bit more tweaking/balancing this could be a really incredible idle game.

Devour by ScoobySnacks 2025-04-10T00:07:14Z

Finally getting that boat felt really good! Plus I really like the music, sets the mood so well.

SIRTET by Airgameboys 2025-04-12T13:34:26Z

Found this one through a hackernews post surprisingly, super fun and polished game! I'm always amazed when people find new twists on Tetris
