Impressive level of polish for a game jam! Fun and challenging - maybe the animations of the enemy attacks could be longer, so the player can have a chance to dodge

i am thankful on this day for my 3m long arms
Really fun game - balance feels really well tuned! Started to get into the swing of things in my most recent attempt and then got (inevitably) overwhelmed by the baddies.
There are some really great choices made in the design of this that weren't necessary to the 'core' game but really add a whole lot (Undo, backwards words, different languages). SO well polished - this could easily be on the app store now, it's a finished product! I've screenshotted my 2nd place on the leaderboard as this game is bound to attract enough players to bump me off soon...
The web build seems to loop on the intro scene - the executioner says 'Good luck' then it goes right back to the start (unless I'm missing something?).
I have to echo the other comments on the song - it's very unique to hear lyrics in jam game's music and I think it works to great effect here. The mechanic of avoiding collecting the gems is novel and with the different challenges each working day brings really forces the player to think and come up with different strategies.
The dynamic audio here is great! I really like how you are forced to make choices (like 50/50s in minesweeper) but the game is actually designed to account for that and give you leeway. Nice and relaxing puzzler.
@stasm Oh no! I thought I'd fixed that... to confirm there are only 13 stories to reach - the 14/13 will occur if you reach the stories via different routes (so I'll pretend it's a feature)
Great story! Reminiscent of The Three Body Problem. Taking so much inspiration from FTL for the map/encounters is a nice touch as my familiarity with that game made it easy to understand the context and feel immersed in the world you created.
This is really satisfying to play - I'd have loved a few more levels! This would make a great minigame in something like mario party etc, being able to push and squash the other competitors is really neat.
Very slick design and great storytelling. It felt like the stage in a colony sim game where everything starts collapsing combined with King of Dragon Pass.
Managed to beat the game! Very interesting idea using proximity 'bonuses' to buildings to also be a potential negative - did take me a couple of goes and a few assassinations to work out a good strategy.
I'm ready to change.
Fun game! I spent a long time on this one trying to squeeze a good high score. The graphics are really great and I love the nod towards Worms.
I will say I had some technical issues - I couldn't get the mac build to work. I was getting a "app is damaged and can’t be opened. You should move it to the Trash" error, but it ran fine (if a bit stuttery as mentioned) on windows & web.
Really slick, awesome game. The juice you put into this game is perfect, it leads to some incredibly satisfying moments of gameplay. Going from having nothing in the chamber being chased around by a pink guy to a full reload off some lucky ricochets in another room *chef's kiss*
I love the audio and the whole tone of this game - didn't realise there were instructions but had fun working it out regardless! When it looked like the end was in sight I kicked the man off and just let the ship sink itself, seemed more fitting hahaha
You have captured a great mood in this game! I liked how the writing (and the theme of course) hint towards a bad ending that was subverted - I was bracing myself for something very sad but ended up feeling relief. The use of wolves as the antagonist is also superb, very thematic!
This is a really fantastic iteration on the Getting over it/Masocore/rage game genre. I think I only got 50% of the way through (past the ramp beam then the very thin beam) before the game broke me - when I've got the energy I'll come back and reach the top of that mountain...
With games like these I'd love to see a speedrunner take a crack at finding an optimal path.
Nice game! It's like an infinite fishing minigame. The music and overall mood/feeling of the game is great - super cutesy and lighthearted. My highscore was 2:46 and I think the only reason I lost it from there was my fingers falling asleep haha
You know you're in trouble when the neighbour comes in to help wrangle you to bed! Fun twist on the stealth game genre.
Very funny game - the idea of bureaucracy getting in the way of summoning the old gods is really charming.
