@iguanana Thanks! All feedback is much appreciated!
As above, super well executed. I'm a bit too brain dead to give it the time it deserves and finish it, but clearly a super thoughtful project. Keen to come back and discover all of Ostro's secrets...
@lachlan-james Thanks! The secrets will be waiting...
Okay I'm definitely coming back to complete this game in the future but I LIVE for games like this, you captured the mood so nicely and I'm really intrigued by it, LOVING IT!!
This game is extremely well made really captures a cool aesthetic theme. I'm a big fan of steganography and ""hacking"" and these sorts of puzzles, and if you are too, I'm sure you'll enjoy this game. The theme, world-building, and gameplay are all really unique, and the team at Totteri have managed a level of polish uncommon in jam games.
The core gameplay loop here pretty much boils down to reading files for email addresses/file addresses, and typing a couple types of commands into the terminal. There's definitely a good amount of challenge, but in my opinion it would have been interesting to see a crucial clue abstracted farther than text or a picture of text. Perhaps I missed something here? There's certainly no shortage of weird files.
My only criticism, and I'm not sure if this is a spoiler or not, but once you click the last file, there's no way to go back to the desktop, so perhaps it would be beneficial to provide some context, diegetic or otherwise, for that file being the end of the game. That way, if not everything had been discovered, the player could still choose to do other things first. I downloaded a couple files I never got to look at.
The mood is perfect!!
@tinxo @arianad Thanks a lot! Very happy that you appreciated our idea!
@constantine-pallas Thanks for your review! You bring up some very good points that we will certainly keep in mind if/when we choose to further develop OSTRO. Your thoughts are much appreciated!
I couldn't figure out how to get the email login credentials, but I'm intrigued! Will be coming back to this one.
@alex-zahn Thanks for trying our game! Hint: Try typing "help" in the terminal!
Loved this one. I wonder if I missed any secrets. Everything was really well done here, nothing bad to say about it.
Woahhhh I like the aesthetic you went for, it's awesome!
Loved it. One of my favourites so far.
Fantastic game! Really great mood and I love the forensic style of gameplay. My one criticism is no copy/paste! But that's understandably not a priority in a jam game haha
Great game! The attention to the details is commendable. I haven't finished it yet but definitely coming back to it since I'm getting a "Analogue: A Hate Story" vibes in it and I enjoyed that game.
I love the retro operating system layout! The fact that only 2 windows can be functioning at a time is also amusing. The puzzles are really nice, and I loved learning a little more about the company by sneaking into peoples emails. ha! Very cool game!
I like the backstory, the UI, the puzzle aspects, and the overall gameplay. The puzzle mechanic based around processes is neat and implemented very well. When I failed a login attempt, the sound did scare me, which is actually appropriate for the game, though, I think the volume was more the reason why I jumped. This is a great way to tell a story and I'm a big fan of this sort of experience. Well done!

Thanks so much for all the feedback! We will take any suggestions into consideration for future projects!
I'm extremely impressed by how large this game is for a jam. I think this has potential for a full game. Great atmosphere and great execution.
Nice game, I normally suck at these kind of things but I manage to get through it in the end. A play through video would have been helpful. I spent ages on the wild goose chase. Good game, nice job 👍
My highest rating so far. Can really tell the amount of effort your team has put into this. Great writing, real sense of mystery, the graphics were fantastic, felt very polished, loved that subtle hum of the monitor in the background. All around amazing entry. The team should be really proud of this.

Thank you for your comments! It means a lot to hear your feedback!
i love the UI, it really takes me back to using an old windows system. the ambience is actually so well done, it incorporates very well the feeling of unhelpness and putting all ur efforts into solving sumn unsolvable that comes w/ the delay the inevitable theme — the background, error and video noises also the screen going black and suddenly the desktop's background turning red was what really added to it. the puzzles itself are easy but sometimes i would get lost but that isnt a bad thing, it only made me pay more attention to what i was doing and incentivated me to go back so i could see what exactly i missed instead of just closing the game. the storyline felt very aligned to the theme and the ending was satisfactory even if it wasnt exactly a good ending, it just felt nice to solve all the puzzles.
I enjoyed this a lot! It's very close to something I've always wanted to create.
Had to go back through and play it again after I realized I cheated .
LOVED the hum of the computer.
reminds me of those 80s punk hacker games i used to play many years ago.
Very nice. Love the Windows 95/98 aesthetic. It's sort of like a treasure hunt. I think what would benefit this game is some thought-based puzzle elements to it. I finished the game, but I'm not quite sure I understood the story. Also, the low-ish resolution and the limit of two windows visible (not open, but visible) at once was a bit annoying. Anyways, I enjoyed the game. Thank you for making this!

Thank you all for your thoughts and feedback! It means a lot!
an aesthetic interface, I had a lot of fun playing and I love games that give this kind of experience. I also made a similar game, can check my profile
This is great! I'm a sucker for these kind of games! It's late now and I did not figure it out yet, but I'll come back later to crack the code! I wonder what will happen if I succesfully log in This game is so convincing, that I sometimes try to use ALT+TAB, or other shortcuts to get something done. Love it, well done!
Aw, I love this kind of games. It was really fun and the old web aesthetics fit really well, it's also polished to the point of impossibility for a simple game jam game. Amazing work!
@moonchain @wouter52 @ehon
Thank you so much for your comments and compliments!
Really impressive! The aesthetic is spot on, and the progression of steps is exactly the right amount of challenge for the context. Well done!
I like the story and presentation! I missed having some kind of sound, music or atmosphere during the intro, but apart from that the choice of sounds is good. You've really managed to capture the atmosphere with the visuals and sounds. I got stuck pretty quickly, but maybe it's just me being dumb today, lol. The only thing I missed gameplay-wise was being able to copy paste. Good jobs guys, keep it up!
Nice idea and cool 90s OS feel 😊
Impressive entry! Love the aestetics and the storytelling, and the fit to the theme. Congratulation!
I really liked this game. Had to leave it (work emergency) after getting in to the first few emails, but was actually itching to get back. The mood and graphics is perfect, but after finishing it i did feel like I skipped some parts. I would be nice if I was able to go back to the desktop after completing the game to dig through the accumulated files and leads. Anyway, very well done!

Thanks for your feedback! We will keep in mind the ideas for improvements!
This is such a fun brain-bending challenge. To boot, it looks so good and plays so smoothly (i love how dragging around windows and laying windows on top of eachother works like a normal pc). Haven't finished it yet but I'm going to give it another proper goo at some point and try finish it! I love the tie in to the theme!
This game very nice, but I didn't found Admin Password :sob:
this reminds me of Sorry James a indie games with a very interesting premise, very innovative
Hey, I love your game. Great clean project with simple mechanics yet very engaging and involving! I managed to finish it and i would definitely play another version of the game. So if you will be developing it hit me up! Thank You for submitting this project!
Excellent game! Love the 90's desktop/corpo aesthetic. Perfect length to solve w/out being _too_ long as well, imo.
I can say that this game is one of the better entries I've seen in this jam so far! Props to whoever recommended this find!
The 1990s aesthetic in this game is what I found interesting, right down to the nitty-gritty details of an old Windows OS. Though I didn't get very far since I didn't know where else to go, I'm tempted to replay this again to see if I can find something different this time.
Making a game out of finding secrets, in a 90s server computer no less, is pretty unconventional, but it's really done well here, since the game itself is one big puzzle. I wish I could say more about this, but I think many others have also articulated the points I wanted to address. In all, this game should be expanded a bit more, because it's that interesting! Good job!

I understand what are you talking about. It was really important for me to find a proper service and https://www.magicuneraser.com/press/disk_boot_failure.php is a good tutorial, helping to find an ideal solution in this case. There are described the most powerful methods and also software, helping to coordinate this question effective and to avoid bugs.
