LD50 — Delay the inevitable

50 Second Apocalypse by superpokeunicorn 2022-04-11T14:18:38Z

Really fun gameplay loop, I love how it's straight into the action, and when you die straight back to the action! I'd have loved this more with a slightly larger room, but the layout of the room made the most of the space!

The Pit by dikkop 2022-04-10T17:43:48Z

The visuals are amazing! Big fan of the feeling this game gives. A little tough to try and play solo, though, seems inevitable the villagers try to kill me!

Donchar by MatLab 2022-04-10T16:28:05Z

Won't lie. I was a little confused for a bit, but yknow, trippy vibes so, vibing, then everything started to die so I did a little panic rush looking for a car. Only issue I found was objects not adjusting to floor height which made it a little tricky (sometimes I wouldn't be able to see the item as I was carrying it... just had to trust I didn't drop it). Great mood setting, would love to see more of this trippy world!

You Will Die by cdunham 2022-04-11T14:11:24Z

Visual style and audio is great, love the sword slashing- wish enemies had a "hurt" sound or image to indicate more that you'd hurt them. I'm not sure quite what to do, though- I was killing a few enemies and kind of just waiting for the dragon to arrive. Unfortunately I'm stuck at 90m- the timer seems a little funky and inconsistent, like the dragon isn't moving a consistent pace and gets slower the closer he gets?

Cristalia Time by Luis Felipe Patrocinio 2022-04-10T17:00:06Z

I love the aesthetic and sound design! I wish there was an aiming mechanic for attacking and the warrior attacked more away from its own body, it feels like I can't get more than 3 rooms in without dying with either class. I'm not sure if health is supposed to be going down on its own with no enemies attacking, but I feel like with the pace of it I really stood no chance! Great visuals though, I love the VCR type aesthetic!

Cussmuss: the ice cone fuss by ardorugus 2022-04-11T12:33:50Z

Eye catching art style (love all the textures. Love me some hand drawn game art) and neat storybook looking feel! The whacky physics were interesting, this was a fun little game. Hope you guys continue to make games, I'll be keeping an eye out!

Glub-Glubmarine by Frocto 2022-04-10T15:17:41Z

I'd love to see a version of this with multiple levels to figure out the pattern of! The water visual effect is really cool, I enjoyed playing a lot!

Rapid Reentry by ygrichman 2022-04-10T13:53:02Z

Had a lot of fun with this! Although, I found via trying to find an "optimal strategy", I was sort of still capped out at around 3 runs because of increasing resource demands each time- balancing is something that's impossible to get perfect within a jam though I understand! The visuals are great and everything goes together perfectly- the music, UI and art- and I have to say it has an addictive quality to it, I played a lot more than I was planning to play! Thank you for the fun game experience!

Mankind Sorrow by Wassim 2022-04-11T14:31:10Z

Nice looking game with lovely audio, the voiceover really adds to it. The only thing is, past the first day the choices are the same with the same outcome as far as I can tell, so it leads to just a repeated gameplay loop until your invisible meter ticks down. It was a little confusing the way the map connected together in areas also (exiting the house it was unclear which was to go to leave the building, and i think after leaving work it seems to put me in a different area to the area I entered work?).

SUNSTAMEN by Jasper Hansen 2022-04-11T11:49:27Z

this was so much fun! The difficulty balance felt perfect for me, it really is an inevitable loss but you can keep it going for so long if you really try! The graphics were great too, really set a mood. Great game!

The Pit by ZwodahS 2022-04-10T16:51:17Z

I've spent the whole day rating games, and this has the best balancing I've seen! Great difficulty curve and balancing of stats, I ended up with only pain cards at the end which I should have made sure to chuck earlier (I love the difficulty they add!).

Flickerlight by avareii 2022-04-11T13:50:27Z

Really addictive... before I knew it I was on a 30 minute run! Such a beautiful game and gorgeous audio, too. It's so expansive, plenty of resources to consider at all times, such good balance! I'd love to see some "mining/chopping" animations if this was made full scale, (obviously- I'm not expecting this in a jam!), it's such a beautiful game as is though!

Reptiles Save the Queen by Benj9 2022-04-10T17:21:26Z

Love the idea, the visuals and humour is great. My only issue is the game crashing shortly in- I can't really get more than a couple visits in before it crashes.

WeightLess by TempoSparkz 2022-04-11T11:53:47Z

I really liked the audio, had issues with the mouse too and next level sent me to the main menu. I think a click based menu would be more intuitive as the rest of the game uses click style controls also!

Word Wizard by Slecornu 2022-04-10T17:50:57Z

I really, really loved this. I wasn't expecting to have so much fun with a typing game, nor for it to look so polished an professional. 1000x better than the typing games I played as a child. Wonderful sense of humour too!

Lovely village by FunBanan 2022-04-11T12:14:22Z

The difficulty curve felt sort of "sudden"- one moment barely any of my soldiers were getting killed, the next round they all got killed! I really enjoyed this game overall though, the graphics are great, the different things you can buy and how they interact with eachother are great- I'd love to see this with more balancing, it'd be a perfect game then! Edit: Wanted to mention, I also had a small bug where I was clicking on the purchase button for the upgrades but they wouldn't buy unless I spammed the button, even if I had enough money?

The Inevitable Company by Katsuhira 2022-04-10T17:27:37Z

What a vicious character, trying to get us to port to mobile. Great simple visuals and incredibly compelling narrative, enjoyed this a lot!

(this is not) Dating Advice by nyxkn 2022-04-10T16:37:06Z

Really fun game, the partner is so fussy it really is just delaying the inevitable! The options have a great sense of humour and the simple visuals and audio make for a really intuitive game experience.

Waking Gerald by funemaker 2022-04-10T14:09:34Z

I never knew how tricky a thing triple jumping could be until this game, whew! The feeling and mood of this game is so brilliant- the voice over, music and colour palette used makes it really feel like its own world. I'd love a "peek" kind of camera system where it sticks to the player and slightly pokes out into where the player is pointing the mouse, especially with the mouse based shooting, some of the jumps were so long I couldn't see the death I was falling into!

SensenCemetery by Wouter52 2022-04-10T17:07:18Z

Obsessed with the visuals and sound design for this! Love the idea of painting on your own tomestone. Such an interesting idea that other people's deaths adds to the surroundings!! I am, unfortunately, very very bad at this game and have only gone some 20 metres. I love how the sound becomes nearer as he comes closer, the control scheme is very intuitive and comfortable too (I love that there's an in game tutorial, also).

Terra Defensio by MrchickenBoy 2022-04-10T18:02:37Z

Fun game! The visual and audio feedback feels great, I love the explosions of the asteroids and the earth shaking when it gets hit. Simple concept, but really well polished, which I like to see!

OSTRO by Totteri 2022-04-11T13:14:35Z

This is such a fun brain-bending challenge. To boot, it looks so good and plays so smoothly (i love how dragging around windows and laying windows on top of eachother works like a normal pc). Haven't finished it yet but I'm going to give it another proper goo at some point and try finish it! I love the tie in to the theme!

Super Mowser Bros by Guilloteam 2022-04-10T15:47:16Z

Incredibly fun game with gorgeous visuals (I do love some paper a-certain-plumber visuals). The only thing I'd change is the balance (maybe make things take longer to build, and don't give back resources once something is built?) and honestly, it'd be a perfect game. The humor is so on point, I love that it takes on the theme in a kind of cheeky, "why does the player always inevitably win", kind of way!

Mutating Escapist by Noirox 2022-04-11T12:49:02Z

The voiceover was great. The random mutations were an interesting concept, but I found myself basically running into enemies until I got double jump because it was substantially better than the others. If there were more balancing on that end, I feel like I would have used whatever the game threw at me to the best of my ability. Would love to see an expanded version of this with more balancing!

Somnipathy by Cyzaine 2022-04-11T15:21:57Z

I love the click the symbols thing, and how spooky the game starts to get after some lost sanity... Great visuals and music! I like how the controls are very self explanatory also!

Foundations by 0x746564 2022-04-10T17:38:22Z

Fun game, I love me a bit of solitaire style games! I'm not sure it resonates too strongly with the theme, but I had a lot of fun playing this!

Carrot Grove by Ehon 2022-04-10T14:48:02Z

I love this abstract idea of putting together visual novel with sort of a "who's lying" riddle! The visuals are absolutely gorgeous, I love the map in particular. The backing music is probably the only thing I wasn't a big fan of, after a while it can get a little monotonous. Other than that, I really enjoyed the sound design! Well done for getting something of this scale done!

the pond by Misfire_dev 2022-04-10T16:12:21Z

I adore how intuitive this is! The second phase changes up the difficulty so much, I love it! It's so relaxing and feels so original also. I love how when you go to the next phase it feels sort of like a natural "evolution". Awesome game, well done!

Under Performer by Allax 2022-04-11T12:25:12Z

Love the art and general humour of this game, wasn't really all that sure how the boss battle works to be honest though! While the "tasks" were basic the rush of it against the clock really added to the intensity (much like a real office... from personal experience). I love the comic style art at the start also!

Stuck In The Hypertext by RealTanHen 2022-04-10T15:01:39Z

@boxedmeatrevolution thank you! I'm only getting around to rating today unfortunately, I was gone travelling for a bit straight after the jam so haven't had time! I'm so happy you enjoyed it so much though, thank you!!

Stuck In The Hypertext by RealTanHen 2022-04-10T16:15:31Z

@real-flamingicecubegames Thank you! On reflection I should have used the "no transitions" mode to have a really short black fade screen instead of one around the same length as the usual transitions- it ended up being a really long screen fade because I was determined to keep in the sound, I should have just added a shorter version of the sound! Thanks for the feedback :)

Stuck In The Hypertext by RealTanHen 2022-04-11T12:27:44Z

@greytyphoon I was thinking of adding something to adjust for screen size, but I'd forgotten by the end of the project! (Sheer exhaustion, oops!) Will keep in mind for future projects though and I might make an updated build at some point and add it to the itch page. Another thing on my "must keep this in mind for future projects" list! :)

Volcanic Dash by tested 2022-04-10T15:10:06Z

The 2.5D experience really adds to the challenge, takes a while to get used to but definitely adds extra fun! The text in the level was cool for explaining how things work, I always love that approach to teaching the player. Well done on a super cool first jam!!

Deloop by Lecloow7 2022-04-10T18:07:27Z

I love idea of the screen being slowly eroded away! Only thing is, sometimes enemies would stick to me on top of my character model, and I couldn't attack them- I also wasn't sure if the enemies were actually hurting me or not? Gorgeous visuals and fun concept overall though!

LD52 — Harvest

The grand harvest championship (I must win) by vidarn 2023-01-10T17:05:55Z

It's really fun figuring the strategy for this, I gotta say! It feels polished and the AI is really very good, trying to block off my tates and all!

Harvest - Food Cut by burnedkirby 2023-01-26T14:25:13Z

I adore the "nice cut!" and "oh no!"'s. Cute, humorous and addictive!

Mothman's Forest by pixelstuff 2023-01-26T15:28:11Z

Beautiful art style! I'm terrible at the game though, I found the first level really easy and the second suddenly a lot trickier! It felt really unique, trying to pretend I'm some big scary boy while hiding how cute I am from the humans, such a great twist!

tomato harvester by dimesto52 2023-01-26T15:15:27Z

Strange game that I do not understand but had a weirdly fun time with it. Couldn't figure how to harvest tomatoes, i think my watering can bounced away from me, I left the boundaries by accident.

Pollen Angel by Madbeagle 2023-01-27T15:49:42Z

This is awesome, such a great interpretation of the theme too. I like how the flowers popping up and down really encourages going around the level (and it's, of course, mega difficult as I would always expect of arcade-style games- you would have ALL of my coins). I like how the physics added to the difficulty- you would have to "undo" some of the momentum of the bee by moving the other way, felt more like true bee flight!

Mun Fields by MadreDeDios 2023-01-10T16:31:07Z

I love how innovative and intuitive this game is! I love the visuals, kind of felt a bit of dissonance between the audio and everything else about it though- felt like something a little more mellow would have suited it better, but that's all personal preference also!

Five Finger Copper Shopper by Don Fouts 2023-01-26T15:21:43Z

The game seemed to think I stole no copper... Although I thought I stole 7? Fun physics, I would have liked to see a slightly bigger level maybe or have it more randomized each time you play?

Crophunt by Bugord 2023-01-26T14:20:48Z

I got stuck on fences like... A lot because I'm dumb. The concept of being able to spill the peas back out and having to fight them again was a great one, felt really innovative!

Pulling Teeth by Deprecat 2023-01-10T14:11:51Z

I love the take on the theme, really creative! The visuals were great, but I found the gameplay a little on the lacking side- while I love a good spacebar mash, the "day" part of the cycle could easily be perfected by buying what the next child wants, replacing it exactly as they purchase it. I know with game jams it's all a give and take though, and it's hard to have everything- so well done on a game that looks so polished!

Harvey's Tiring Job by Maka 2023-01-10T16:05:50Z

Love me an interesting physics game! The aesthetic is great too, in particular I love the barn! One of the trickier things was not knowing how many fields were coming up though, I'd often try dump all my seeds in the first field for that plant type before I realised there was another field further on!

Fall's Tome by pepnou 2023-01-10T16:42:27Z

Absolutely in love with the aesthetic and audio, such a relaxing game to roam around in! The controls weren't super intuitive at first but once I'd done everything a couple of times the simplicity of them really grew on me!

Cat Crop Collector by Riesyeti 2023-01-10T14:34:35Z

I love me an old school fps-feel. The speed at which you move, the graphics and the sound design, I'm in love with. My only gripe with this game was that the enemies didn't feel very intimidating, in the way that, I could basically just outrun them and run around grabbing all the crops, despite how intimidating they looked!

Far VVest by Pikario 2023-01-27T18:29:10Z

Loved the humour in this!! Best wife and children upgrades ever. Although wish I could then upgrade dog for cat, and husband for robot vacuum cleaner.

Soul's Path by Gabriel Chan 2023-01-26T14:09:29Z

This is. PERFECT! The only critique I can give- the last timer-y level I found the part where there's a bird to catch in between the two swingy objects that then leads to you having to swing to the next object with timed thorns underneath sliiiightly unforgiving (I still finished it... eventually... because I loved this game and wanted to finish it) but really, asides that, this was relaxing, challenging, the sound and art design worked together to create the perfect level of tension and immersion.. Just big wow!

Harvest Roar by vivyhasadream 2023-01-27T17:22:04Z

I had to unplug my audio interface to get this to work as it seemed to always want to use that instead of my USB mic... Awesome art, and really fun idea, but wow didn't want to hear myself shout in strange delays and the delay was a bit weird, couldn't really control anything it felt like.

The Decade of the Harvester by sdelay 2023-01-10T13:56:04Z

$291,310.... I worked way too hard to get all of the money I could on the "perfect day" day. Really, really, fun and addictive, it's funny how quickly you can get smooth turns using the arrow keys. The difficulty went up a nice amount each turn too- the only thing I can really think of to improve the experience is with the deers, having a few spawning in a little prior so they're already across the field at the start, or have them go both ways for extra trickiness!

CardVest by RealTanHen 2023-01-10T13:22:07Z

Thank you! I was hoping for that "relaxed card game" feeling, plus a little bit of strategic balancing :)

CardVest by RealTanHen 2023-01-10T14:13:53Z

Thank you so much! Yeah it definitely could be improved with a little "click" sound or something to indicate something was actually purchased alright, far too easy to spend all your money at once by accident!

CardVest by RealTanHen 2023-01-10T14:36:44Z

Thank you! Definitely would have been something I'd have liked to add as it's something I enjoy a lot in card games I play (along with some relaxing card shuffling noises and so on)!

CardVest by RealTanHen 2023-01-10T14:42:53Z

Thank you! That's exactly what I was aiming for, it's the kind of experience I like the most in card games!

CardVest by RealTanHen 2023-01-10T16:06:42Z

Thank you so much, I played around a lot with the maths in my head to try and figure a nice balance that was fair to the player also!

Corn Clicker by GoMango99 2023-01-27T17:31:40Z

As a big clicker game fan, naturally I had a lot of fun- but the actual maths made this just a little too easy to just sit back, buy clickers and pigs and end up with infinite corn. Maybe something like derivative clicker would have worked well for this- have a corn plant that produces one corn, a corn field that produces x number of corn plants, a corn company that produces x number of corn fields and so on... Makes for an easy way to lengthen a game concept like this!

No Harvest by Mikzam 2023-01-27T16:05:01Z

Once I got the idea, I found the combining of cards concept pretty addicting! Made it to round 12! Initially I found the tutorial actually somewhat confusing but I got the hang of it after immediately losing a few rounds! Balancing wise it was fun enough, but I'd love to see a version where there's "life points"- say 3 chances or something, so the randomness is something you can consider banking on or not. Immediate death pretty much just meant I always wanted to make sure the attack points were more than the max!

Organ Trail by maymay 2023-01-10T13:21:31Z

I really loved the precision I could get with the scalpel (at first I was very much a mad butcher until I realised that definitely wasn't working out). I loved the puzzley take on it, as well as the interpretation of the theme! But my favorite thing about it was definitely the wonderful plot twist at the end!

Pflaenze by shiny Elster 2023-01-27T17:10:26Z

I think the room was WAY too big for the pace the roots moved- I also didn't realise in the initial phase I was supposed to be moving up out of the ground. The audio & mood were really lovely and I wanted to play more for the narrative because I love the idea- but after ages of basically just frustration I had to stop myself after finding all of the green food stuff (the fact that that and the water is all so close to the seed, makes me wonder really why the room was so big)

Farm On Wheels by Igor Minenko 2023-01-27T16:22:39Z

I loved the setting, the graphics and colour palette really suited it! The gameplay loop would have been more fun had some kind of challenges been added (bandits that steal your crops? Gas station stops where you have to buy fuel for your truck to run?) but overall I like the core concept a lot!

Hi!Waste Tomato by Asahi 2023-01-10T14:22:19Z

Love the aesthetic and the puzzle concept, I liked most of the sound design but I feel like the static may have been too much after a little while of playing? Not sure if I missed an option to turn that off but it was a little off putting. Asides that I really enjoyed it, the puzzle designs really had me thinking and it was easy to grasp the concept.

Dice Wheat Me by Joe Eric 2023-01-10T14:50:59Z

Really wanted to be able to play this, but there's a big brown and white window that obscures my view in the top-left corner- I suspect this to be something to do with scaling to 4K! Just wanted to pop by, let you know about the scaling (I've had similar issues in games before that I've made) but also- let you know that I *adore* the art style!!!

Oxygen Harvest by Spargit 2023-01-27T16:36:38Z

With some extra balancing (I will NEVER expect perfect balancing in game jam games, though, let's be real, none of us can be that wizardly), this is just like... a game that I would pick up and feel like playing now and again because it's so much fun. The graphics, the gameplay, everything just feels so perfect and neat yet simple. It also felt really unique, mechanic wise- like a strange card matching game but where it's based on effectively matching different cards together in a way that works best.

Data Farmer v1.0 by Neeeb_ 2023-01-26T15:36:47Z

I ended up with WAY too much data than I could ever sell about 3 minutes in... and the upgrades to autosell didn't seem to make up for it! Still, had a lot of fun, I have an appreciation for a clicker game with an in depth system, just needs more balancing!
