LD50 — Delay the inevitable

Decisive Battle by Erkberg 2022-04-20T12:30:29Z

Really cool entry! I loved the music and the mood you created within it. And it was just COMPO entry? Insane! (in a good way, haha) Cool and solid entry, one of the best COMPO games I played this Ludum Dare. Keep up the good work!

The volcano woke up ! by Yamzho 2022-04-20T22:07:26Z

Really engaging and interesting gameplay. The mechanics are very polished (well, as the whole game really, great job for a COMPO!), ti felt like you knew exactly how to code puzzles and the balance was perfect, very good game design! Fun, the art was nice too, especially the UI parts. Solid entry!

Shotgun King: the Final Checkmate by benjamin 2022-04-16T14:34:17Z

This one would probably land top 10 of this LD

Need for Sleep by dodormeur 2022-04-10T10:07:34Z

Really cool and fun game! I love the ending. It captures the mood of late night work really well haha. Thank you for this one! As someone mentioned, a score would be a nice patch if you're going to add anything. I love the humour and that each stage had a different kind of challenge.

Doomed by Aumbra 2022-04-20T12:37:26Z

Oh, this one had really nice and smooth gameplay, it was fun and enjoyable. The easthetics chosen for this game were also pleasing to the eye and suited the theme you went with well. Keerp up the good work, really nice entry!

STUDY LADY (cookie mix) by PeachTreeOath 2022-04-14T17:32:26Z

Comfy stuff, I must admit, really cool and polished art too! Plenty of comment here and I don't want to write the same stuff like the others, so I'll just add that the game page was also arranged really neatly and suitable for the game theme :D Solid and polished entry!

Back2Work by radmccool 2022-04-14T16:16:28Z

A fun entry with a cool gameplay! The artstyle was also really cool. Also: one person? how? You are insane (in a good way) :D Great work!

Don't Let Them Sit There by MrEvilGuy 2022-04-16T20:12:14Z

Wow, the idea was quite unique and the execution was both hilarious and well-made. I loved the little chats all the people were doing and the sounds design done with well, mouth sounds, was incredible. Cool and one of a kind entry!

Block or Bust by 100th_Coin 2022-04-10T10:18:38Z

Marvellous. 5/5, nothing to add honestly.

Please Don't Date Me by Shess 2022-04-13T19:16:10Z

Belive me or not: that was our initial idea, to make a VN where you're supposed NOT to romance the character/delay the romance (but in our idea it wasn't breaking the 4th wall, which is a nice touch here). Amazing graphics and idea execution, i'm really happy that someone went with such a plot choice. Got the "bad" ending (succesful romance) and a best friend ending (so success...?) 5/5 game!

Delay the dancing fire by squirrelsoft 2022-04-18T13:12:58Z

WOah, what an unique theme idea, also really important in terms of our world problems like climate change and raging forest fires. Amazing, I loves the sounds, graphics and gameplay. The Web built was a little laggy for me but It might just have been my internet connection. Solid entry!

Mythic Garden by Silas Reinagel 2022-04-08T17:06:45Z

Omg, it gave me a little bit nostalgia, this one. Really cool and polished entry, great job, impressive amount of content for a game jam game, 5/5!

Kore o Kawasu by lilkrit 2022-04-18T13:07:41Z

Nice, finally a UE game :D (Why is this engine so neglected during fame jams?) I really liked the basic concept and I feel like if it was a few hours work, you did such an amazing job! It was fun and challenging but - as some people mentioned - there sould be something implemented to not make the player stay outside the circle all the time. I feel like a wall is not the best solution unless the circle is made bigger, I'd rather add something like an outside timer (let s say 3 seconds) after which you loose for standing outside a circle. But besides that, super cool entry, I had fun!

Drained by Evan Minto 2022-04-14T17:41:26Z

Haha, reminded me of our old LD game, hype dream with kinda similar mechanics/theme, so I had to play it ;D (You can find a link to it in my profile->games, if you want to check it out.) Really cool gemeplay and it was fun at getting better and better at it, also the concent was hialarious, especially the cat picture. Solid entry, great job!

Age of Chips by MaiMai 2022-04-18T12:57:30Z

Just two people?! You guys mad (in a good sense!) So much content and polish for a work of just two people, I was really impressed. (I played the post-jam verson with the minimap and it sure helps a lot). Really cool style and gameplay, I personaly liked the slow beginnig as it was as I needed some time to get the hang of it. Solid entry!

Shades of Deception by AMastryukov 2022-04-17T18:37:05Z

Wow, that was a HUGE game and LOTS of content for one game jam, marvellous work. Voice actting - as many people already noticed - is amazing, big fan of whoever was voicing the detective. It was also really moody and entertaining, keep up the good work!

Cussmuss: the ice cone fuss by ardorugus 2022-04-17T18:43:36Z

Lol, what a funny little game. The art and story were hilarious :D 4th level was indeed a little buggy but I see you already know that. The game also somehow decided to start on my secondary monitor, idk why - never had this happen but if you're a team of artists those bugs are understandable (know it from autopsy, we did a visual novel with a team with a number of writers that equals zero :D). Anyways, I love it as it is, amazing entry, good job!

Holding On by Cubanfrog 2022-04-16T14:31:30Z

Amazing game with an unique take on the theme, the art was top notch too. It's rare to see serious games/games with serious themes done for the Ludum Dare but you nailed it, the mood and theme were both marvellous and unforgettable. Solid entry!

Walk of life by ThePhennix 2022-04-14T16:34:40Z

Lol, the humour was top notch :D Really cool game, reminded me of old browser games from the Troll series (each level had a different challenge and each was funny in some way). Great entry!

E P I L O G U E by JLV 2022-04-08T16:59:43Z

Wow, so much content for 2-person team for a jam entry! You guys rock. It's really interesting and unique story, 5/5! Btw if you're planning to patch this game, the last fight is really easy, you can win it by masking space continuosly (i didn't have to pick nor think any of the skills, just the first one). I think a small patch to increase the difficulty could be really helpful to create better balance. Anyways, great entry!

Dino Village by Suchista 2022-04-14T16:30:26Z

I am a simple man, I see dinos, I play. It was amazing, so simple but in the same time effective, I tried two times (but failed both oops). Awesome entry, one of my faves definitely.

Thanks, Socrates by WilhelmStein 2022-04-10T11:22:16Z

On a search for narrative-driven games like ours, I stumbled upon this little game. It was soo cool and pleasing to play, the houmour was top notch really. Amazing entry!

Heal me, please! by Andrey_Zhukov 2022-04-10T10:51:31Z

Wow, awesome game! As some people mentioned, a tutorial would be cool. It also crashed my graphic card apparently, not sure if it was a random issue or there is something with the web build that caused that? Otherwise, 5/5 entry for me :D

Cards of Life by TheMiSta92 2022-04-16T20:54:13Z

Really cool idea and execution! The gameplay was addicting as well, I tried many times but barely survived till my teenage years, haha. Middle ages were hard times :D

Circuits by mira 2022-04-16T14:18:38Z

Really cool game and polished artstyle! I like the mini-games idea and your take on the theme is unique as well. Great work!

Click to Continue by Daniel Foutz 2022-04-17T19:16:56Z

Haha, I think "There is no game" inspired many jammers to create a new kind of game like this one :D Really fun stuff.

Word Wizard by Slecornu 2022-04-13T19:28:56Z

Really cool idea, good level of polish and pretty art. A solid entry, so much fun!

Mythical Mediator by Jahwffrey 2022-04-16T14:07:38Z

Amazing, as always, 5/5 :D Our team always is astonished by your productions, same as this time. Marvellous.

Oh No My Trophy by zimny11 2022-04-09T12:04:44Z

highscore.PNG

Nothing to brag about :P

The game was fun, the music was suitable and it got really intense later. Amazing level of polish for a compo, a solid entry. Great job!

5 More Times by uboretsky 2022-04-10T10:59:51Z

Its rare to spot a narrative-based game on a LD like ours so I was happy to discover another one! Really solid and emotional entry, the art was top notch and the story was deep and sad. Thank you for that experience.

The Pit by Itskdog 2022-04-10T10:30:37Z

Card games, I feel, are so rare for a jam, so I had to play this one. It was challenging but fun, I like when card mechanics are used with some other gameplay (like falling here, for example). Really cool, with a difficulty of an old retro game. A soild entry!

We Need To Talk by Doot 2022-04-14T16:22:32Z

There is so many comments here that I don't think I have any bonus info to deliver :D But so many reviews iteself also shows that the game is very appealing to the audience which is a great thing. Powerful entry, I bet It'd first 100 for sure :D Really cool art, addicting gameplay and fun theme. Marvellous job.

Don't Die, Dodo! by Baconeta 2022-04-17T18:28:31Z

Really cool little game, really got me stick to the monitor for more time that I'd want :D The take on the theme is surely very unique and fun, and the levle of polish is insane (thanks for all the dodo facts!) Solid entry!

25 Vikings by Gal Afik 2022-04-10T10:38:33Z

Wow, such a cool and polished game. It was really fun and the tactical challenge was quite balanced for a jam game. Great entry! For the Valhalla!

GRIDLAST by cakts 2022-04-10T10:43:02Z

The mood and music was awesome, I just couldn't belive it was made by just one person, wow! The elvel of polish is extreme, the graphic sits very well with the overall mood and the gameplay is interesting. 5/5!

Evita by goldenXD 2022-04-20T12:34:54Z

Wow, really cool game for just one person to deliver! I liked the pixel graphics and the gameplay was really cool. Btw the download is huuuge - i think making is smaller would make more people interested in downloading it. Otherwise, solid entry!

OSTRO by Totteri 2022-04-09T13:07:24Z

Aw, I love this kind of games. It was really fun and the old web aesthetics fit really well, it's also polished to the point of impossibility for a simple game jam game. Amazing work!

The Railroad to Elsewhere by Save Sloth Studios 2022-04-08T16:48:53Z

Another amazing game by one of my fave Ludum Dare team :D I was charmed by the story of the Opposum and I'm charmed by this one as well. 5/5, amazing entry for a team of just two people!

Escape Grades by naplz 2022-04-17T18:34:37Z

OMG that was hilarious, thank you for that little experience :D I loved the humor to the very end and the take on the theme was amusing as well! Great job!

Gods of Divine Stuff: RAgnarök by Anaxie Studio 2022-04-16T20:45:08Z

Oh my, easily one of my favourite LD50 entries. I love the characters, dialogue, audio and gameplay, it all feels very polished and totally in my taste (I'm a fan of Egyptian-themed stuff). I wasn't able to beat the campaign tho but I'm not the best at tower defense games so maybe that's why. 5/5!

Chasin' Dreams by AnimalX 2022-04-09T12:18:00Z

Aw, as a dog owner, I had to play this one. Great idea for incorporating the theme and really fun gameplay. Amazing one! I like the simple art and color sheme as well. The only thig that was a little bit confusing is that on the bottom of the screen the dog could leave the visible area and i was constantly getting lost there. If you're planning to patch the game, I'd add a small fence here or something to prevent this from happening. But it's a minor thing, later I was just avoiding the area. I got 10 treats first run and a few more next. My dog would probably eat even more but he's not yet able to use my PC (luckily).

Pixel-Panic by IdeasPerSecond 2022-04-10T11:02:57Z

I am a pixel. My time has come. 5/5

Sweet Bedtime O' Mine by K4M1 2022-04-17T17:31:06Z

Really cool game, so glad that I've found it :D It was really interesting in therms of theme and preally pretty as well. I liked the gameplay and the humor. The enemies were really spot on (especially the drill. why do people use drill at 8am in the morning?!)

Plague Fail by Dogez 2022-04-17T18:20:49Z

I feel like this one is an undiscovered gem! So little ratings even though you posted a lot of WIPs and posts about the game. It's really cool and looks really pretty, good job on the game designer and art lead part. The gameplay was interesting too, humor also hits well, conpared to the gloomy mood. Amazing entry!

Carrot Grove by Ehon 2022-04-07T20:07:58Z

@calzone407 Hm, the game has music - maybe you had the slider moved to the very bottom in the preferences? If you're interested in giving it another try, we updated it with some bugfixes and we added to the engine the dialogues written during the jam that we didn't input on time, so it's a whole diffrent experience. Oh! There is a now a best ending tutorial at the bottom of the page as well : D

@volt450 ooh so bad :( Btw, if you want to give it another try, we updated the game with some stuff done during the jam that we didn't put into the game on time and we provided a best ending guide at the bottom of the page!

Carrot Grove by Ehon 2022-04-08T17:08:52Z

@mcmuniz thank you so much! There is a best ending guide at the bottom of the game description if you find yourself stuck!

@biku Thank you for playing! There is a best ending tutorial at the bottom of the game description, it should be helpful if you'd like to achieve the best one :D

Carrot Grove by Ehon 2022-04-09T12:18:05Z

@sodoj Thank you for playing! We are aware of the sound issue - we're going to fix it in a patch.

@zimny11 Thank you very much!

@animalx Thank you. Our music composer got a new job during a game jam and wasn't able to add a thrid track due to his workload and new, unexpected responsibilites. We as a team have a rule to not use free music/art for jam games so that's why it could get a bit repetitive. Glad you enjoyed it nonetheless!

Carrot Grove by Ehon 2022-04-10T10:49:07Z

@dodormeur Thank you! We do know it was an unique approach but our small studio loves experiments.

@100th-coin It was supposed to be a little confusing to not be too easy to finish the ritual first try. There is best ending guide at the bottom of the description btw if you want to try once more (the swamp guy, Will, is a liar and nothing he says is true!). Also good idea with the possibilty to re-pick the figurines, I'd try to code it in the upcoming patch. Thank you!

@marvis @itskdog @cakts thank you so much, it means a lot!

@gal-afik haha, no worries, we know it's not a game for everyone. the gameplay is around 20 minutes estimatelly, a bit longer if you go for the best ending. thank you anyways

Carrot Grove by Ehon 2022-04-14T17:20:45Z

@i1415 @bramreth @doot @finn-pickart @suchista thank you so much for playing and for your feedback!

@shess Well, it was inspired by demons and spirits of our conutry's culture, so plenty of the lore fluff and quests were inspired by the knowledge we already had, for example Boginka's hat is a slavic myth (the fact that she hates goatweed and eats fern too!), all the rite elements were inspired by Jare Gody - ancient Slavic celebratory ritual - and Midsummer Night celebration etc. I am planning to write a short post mortem for this game with some very poor gameplay sketches done in paint by me at the very beginning to show how it all came to life. Important fact: a placeholder for Will (the guy on the swamp) was a shrek picture. Thank you for playing!

@realtanhen Thank you! As for the music, our music composer got a new job during a game jam and wasn’t able to add a thrid track to add some music variety due to his workload and new, unexpected responsibilites. We as a team have a rule to not use free music/art for jam games so that’s why it could get a bit repetitive. Glad you enjoyed it nonetheless!

@radmccool Haha, your comment made my day :D Thank you for playing and glad you enjoyed our work even though visual novels are not your jam (pun intened).

@haayaargh Fun fact, we wanted to add a secret way to get Marzanna figurine from Devana but we cut this content due to time constrains of the jam. Our team cherished your comment a lot, especially the part about being a group of friends, since that's simply true. Some of us work in the industry, some at different fields than gamedev, some are still looking for a job but for game jams we all become Serious Game Manufacture with a goal of creating something fun. Anyways, thank you for playing and for the feedback! If you still cannot land that sweet sweet good ending, there is a in-depth guide at the bottom of the game description. Good luck to you too!

Carrot Grove by Ehon 2022-04-17T19:01:38Z

@naplz @4ahizon @jahwffrey thank you so much for playing and for your feedback, glad you liked Carrot Grove!

@peachtreeoath yeah, the mead was a little hidden :D we were a little inspired by Gnosia (something like a visual novel Among Us game) and Ace Attorney so we came up with such a game concept for the base gameplay idea. We're really glad that you enjoyed it!

@ardorugus As you can see, we had no writer in our team, the whole narrative was a collective effort of 3 team members who are not even native english speakers - we're happy that it was involving and nice to play nonetheless. If we go for a visual novel next time, we'd try to make the flow more exciting. Thank you for playing and for the valuable writer's feedback!

Carrot Grove by Ehon 2022-04-18T13:14:26Z

@s-onoe @maimai @lilkrit @oroshix thanks for playing and for your feedback, glad you liked Carrot Grove! :D

Carrot Grove by Ehon 2022-04-20T12:40:05Z

@erkberg thank you for playing our game on stream and don't worry about not rating all the things! Btw yes, the game was made in Ren'py, it's an engine/python extension to support making of visual novels in general, good call.

@goldenxd @aumbra thanks for playing and for your feedback, glad you liked Carrot Grove! :D

Carrot Grove by Ehon 2022-04-20T22:11:10Z

@yamzho thank you for playing and we're happy that you enjoyed it!

Carrot Grove by Ehon 2022-04-21T16:50:35Z

@solanumteam thank you! It was a group effort :D

The Ultimate Martian Roulette by HaaYaargh 2022-04-14T16:58:25Z

I felt a little stressed while playing, so that's good, the gameplay surely works as it should have. The first cutscene was pure gold and I laughed at the guy sentenced to death for vegetarianism. Really cool visuals and a polished entry, also unique theme approach.

But what else to expect from a team working for 11bit studios? :D Greetings from the other PL team.

Fading Crown by Fer Gueler 2022-04-10T11:07:32Z

The audio. Dear god, the audio. IT goes so well with the art and the mood it's insane. One of the best LD50 games for sure.

I was Reincarnated as a Middle Aged Dad Protecting his Son's Sand Castle by mcmuniz 2022-04-08T16:36:33Z

A really charming and unique take on the theme. There were some minor bugs but nothing soft/hard locking. A solid and fun entry!

Listening to Rama by ycb21 2022-04-18T12:51:36Z

Wow, what a gem. I loved the concept of using those specific recordings for the audio and the inevitable destruction of the machine. The mood was amazing, one of the best I spotted when playing LD50 games. Great entry.

Journey in Spacetime: A Text Adventure by shortCreative 2022-04-16T20:23:18Z

I was on a hunt for narrative-based games since our game is also a story-based virtual novel and I was really happy to stumple upon this gem! Really creative idea and I'm a big fan of science-fiction too. Solid game, good job!

When Penguins Fly by SolanumTeam 2022-04-21T16:50:06Z

Really cool nostalgia trip for me! You really captured the ol' good flash games mood perfectly. I liked the simple music and "retro" (in some way) art. Really cool entry! As some people mentioned, if you want to improve it after jam some upgrade systems or items in the sky could add a good variety. Good job!

Nightwaker by Bottled up Dark Peace 2022-04-17T19:14:13Z

Haha, I feel like it's not a rule that each LD jam there is a Limbo-inspired game that people absolutely love. In the LD50, ti's this one ;D Good job.

Darko by Sodoj 2022-04-09T11:58:40Z

The artstyle reminded me of the game I did back during LD 45 which had kinda similar aesthetics, so I had to play this one. Really cool visuals and I like the "empty" sounds of the well. The gameplay was challenging, so I won't share my best score to not feel miserable with my skills :P

Stuck In The Hypertext by RealTanHen 2022-04-14T16:12:55Z

Really cool little game, very interesting concept and great mood coming from good pixel art and suitable sound design. Also nice to see a Game Maker game - we used this engine for most of our jam games :D Solid entry, I love point'n click!

The Gallows by Burn Tree 2022-04-09T12:40:56Z

The theme of this game hita a little too close to home so I had to play it (well, I also play a lot of narrative-based games during this LD since our game is also narrative-based and I feel like this kind of games are a little bit neglected sometimes). It reminded me heavily of Night in the Woods, both visually and narratively. The mood and music were marvellous. Really great and serious entry - those are hard to spot!

RING, RING !!! by Miguel Fernández Tormos 2022-04-16T20:19:23Z

Really simple and good looking game, wich an engaging gameplay. I loved the way the alien was talking and the mechanics was really cool and easy to understand. Awesome entry!

Last Moment by Finn Pickart 2022-04-08T17:42:59Z

Really cool and chill game. I loved the music and the color sheme especially!

Mr. Second by Marvis 2022-04-10T10:22:41Z

Wow, this game took me for a really nostalgia trip, reminded me of old good platform flash games. The time-wrap mechanics was innovative and fun, the music was fitting. Amazing entry and a ridiculous level of polish for a jam game!

Last Night at Tax fraud by iMadislol 2022-04-13T18:21:25Z

This little games honestly proves that FNAF gameplay is scary itself, no matter the theme :D Really cool one, I played probably a little too long than I should, just trying to get as much money as I can (said this way it sounds like a game of life honestly). 5/5

Orange Mécanique by Pommthur 2022-04-16T14:28:50Z

Really cute game with a nice take on the theme. Solid entry!

LD51 — Every 10 seconds

The Night Owl Murder by Iluvatar 2022-10-12T22:13:11Z

I won :D Amazing game, 5/5! I loved the mood, the worldbuilding and the gameplay -it was pretty refreshing to see a take on theme that wasn't happening real-time, really creative. The voice acting was also a nice addition, as well as the moody music. One of my fave entires so far!

Sweetheart Speedrun by Snowdrama 2022-10-11T17:36:40Z

Such an interesting and unique concept, I liked it! It was quite hard at first but later I got the hang of it. I like the running vfx and it was quite engaging to run around and search for the right item :D Really cool game for a 3-days-work of just two people. Good job and keep up the good work!

Silvi by nardandas 2022-10-11T17:46:28Z

I enjoy meditation, so seeing that this game has a zen mode (and is a zen experence overall) I had to play it. It was a nice experience, and the story mode was comfy and relaxing as well. Good work!

Miller's Palm by kr4ft3r 2022-10-04T22:48:29Z

...that was dark. But honestly, I feel like too many jam games are just humor-based or pun-based, so it's really refreshing to see something serious and grim. Amazing mood and atmoshere, the art was really spot on too. Your take on the theme was unique and I liked it a lot. Got me thinking. I've seen that someone mentioned that there could be a small hint for the player for the puzzle somehwere (especially that you can click some areas more than once), not niecasaiirly in game but my suggestion is to maybe just add it in the entry description, so if someone gots stucks and checks the page they can see some small hints. Great entry overall!

Fire 'n' Snail by neowhoru 2022-10-11T18:42:37Z

Simple, but fun, best way of creating concept for jam games :D The pixel art was stunning. Great work, keep up the good work!

Tronk by D4mN 2022-10-04T22:54:38Z

Woo, I'm impresed how much content you were able to create during the jam :D It was a really nice game and a cool take on the theme. Fun to play, congrats on this amazing entry!

Zombie Rush 3: Escalation by BytingGames 2022-10-11T17:51:26Z

Admins, please ban this game from LD51, it's too addicting! (just kidding lol) The gameplay is PHENOMENALY addictive and satysfying to play, and the idea of "theme music" is so creative. Really good entry, keep up the good work!

The Potion Shop - an LGBT story by Gabriel Dias Oliveira de Almeida 2022-10-13T22:26:23Z

Really fun little game and a very creatice use of RPG maker capabilities! I love the LGBT+ touch to the game and the cozy mood <3

Love is Legal: Speed Dating For Criminals by Krasimir Balchev 2022-10-12T21:33:22Z

I was hoping someone would make a speed dating game for the theme...and I found this one :D Really cool game, I love it!

Hylee's Little Potion Shop by Federico Giorgi 2022-10-04T23:52:43Z

OMG this game has such a cool graphics, especially the menu + 2d parts stole my heart :D Kudos to the artists! The music was also a fun one and really fitting too. Gameplay was quite challenging but satysfying, however, it was a bit confusing for me to learn how to play exactly, it could be useful to add an interactive part of the tutorial or something. Btw I loved the idea of having the controls inverted, really cool mechanics xD Thank you for that experience and keep up the good work!

Waves by RiptideStudio 2022-10-14T00:08:56Z

Wow. I've no idea how you did that but kudos to whoever programmed it to render like that :D Amazing game, I'm so glad I stumbled upon this little gem. Great work!

Winding Woods by tetrapteryx 2022-10-11T19:18:24Z

Even if the jam didn't go well for you, I think the game you made definitely went well! I like the gameplay loop, it's pretty unique, and the gameplay made me play a few times to see what score can I get (which is very good). Cool entry, keep up the good work!

Night At The Orphanarium by michaelaranda 2022-10-11T19:10:25Z

5/5 on everything. The music - amazing. The graphics - stunning. The gameplay loop - addcting. One of the best LD51 enteries. I would be disappointed if it doesn't land on top 100.

10 is The End by TrueVacuum 2022-10-12T22:29:55Z

I love puzzle games you ahve to figue out by yourself! Really cool idea and very good execution. As some people mentioned, levels beyound 6 were very hard to beat - maybe you can write a simple solution in the descvription for playerrs who get stuck? Well done!

Dolores To Donuts by No Grapes Games 2022-10-14T00:15:24Z

Funny enough, that was my first game idea (not with the donuts, but with a regular worker being observed by their boss and trying to play a mobile game in-between) but I eventually went with a different concept. I'm happy to see this idea so well executed here! It looks fun and has a big dose of humor. Solid entry, keep up the good work!

Elephant Egg by Sprotex 2022-10-11T18:50:19Z

The intro song was really cool ana a nice touch! My egg hatched, btw :D However, I dind't really understood the mechanics till the very end, I don't think I should have won without understanding that, so I think the game could be a little harder ^^ Great work overall!

10 seconds Delirium by Furano 2022-10-12T22:17:50Z

Yoo, I saved this game to play it later and finally got to trying it out and...it's soo cool! I was quite surprised seeing the boomer shooter part, it was also surprisingly well-made for a game jam. The theme interpretations is also unique. 5/5!

Witchy Sketchy Alchemy by Bruyère Alice 2022-10-04T23:26:39Z

Anime girls brewing potions?! Sign me up! Really cute art, I noticed it on some posts that popped up in my feed during the jam and I saved this game to play later, as the art was kawaii and unique-looking. The gameplay was interesting and a little addictin, haha. It also felt REALLY polished, which is quite rare for jam games. Awesome job, keep up the great work!

BackroomsBreak - Alpha version test v0.1 by Eugenik 2022-10-11T17:13:09Z

I wanted to make a procedurally generated game for a jam for a long time so I always get interested in games like that. Also, I love the concept of backrooms, so it was obvious I'd play this one :D I think most of the feedback was written above, I don't really have anything to add besides: great work, keep it up! It was a cool game :D Also it's nice to see UE5 being used on game jams.

Empty Hands by craftmuch 2022-10-11T17:21:18Z

So cool and simple concept! I see that most of the people call this game Warioware-like but honestly, I've never played those. It reminds me of old good flash games and I think a game called troll quest? It was kinda similar in some way, and really fun too, at least from what I can recall. Audio and sfx was perfect as well :D GOOD JOB!

DecaDare by Caladrius 2022-10-13T22:49:42Z

It's just too good xD 5/5

A Handy Job by 0X_VOID_X0 2022-10-04T22:36:39Z

Yoo, such a cool game! I love the concept and the mechanics, it was so confusing at times and my score is definitely not a high one lol Btw I found a hard-locking bug (on html) if you move one of the hands really low it can get stuck and not be able to move again. Could be nice to have a reset button for hands position.

Home R.I.P.airs by JoyKangpae 2022-10-11T18:36:39Z

I once made a hanouted house game with a similar perspective as this one so I really wanted to play this one as it reminded my of my own creation :D It was so cool and polished, the character looks cute and the idea of repairing a hanuted house is urely unique. Good work!

For Whom The Bell Tolls by Diego Teran 2022-10-14T00:01:29Z

Our game concepts are a little similar, so I wanted to try yours out as well and wow, that such a good game, a solid entry! I loved the whole concept and the puzzles - I rated 5/5 on everything :D Good job!

NN7 Guardian by Erlioniel 2022-10-11T18:56:02Z

Yoo, a space game :D I checked some comments and I don't think I've anything else to add feedback-wise, besides that I think this game has a potential of being developed further if your team is willing to. Would be nice to see it on larger scale. Good work!

Baltic by picttarge 2022-10-11T17:30:29Z

I used to be fascinated by Antarctica and the way the arctic stations work, so your game concept was close to my heart in some way. I like the theme execution you went with and the gameplay was great, I kept on playing and trying to figure out best strategies for my playthrough. The pixel art is also really cute and the effect of the character changing the color to communicate player's state is an amazing interface design touch. Good job!

Dreihander by Defrag 2022-10-11T17:57:47Z

A solid entry, I was confused when I saw the screenshots but in-game it was all clear and easy to understand. I like the gameplay loop and the addition of elevator music in the phase 3 was a funny idea that made me smile upon hearing it for the first time.

Bygone Melodies by Save Sloth Studios 2022-10-12T22:50:08Z

Hii! Do you remember me maybe? I'm Almam fan and I think I - or my teammates - commented on each of your ludum Dare games, so much that it feels like we know each other, lol. Anyways, another great game from Save Sloth Studios :D I love the art and the music is amazing. Great job! The story was cute and comfy as well. Glad to see you attending Ludum Dare again, you guys rock!

Room Again by SofiGnedova 2022-10-11T17:09:13Z

Yoo! I remember your team from the previous ludum dare, you created such a beautiful, deep game! :D Glad you see you taking part in ludum dare once more. I like the Don't Starve-like artstyle and mood, and the concept is really cool! It's nice to see another escaperoom game too :D The gameplay was cool, it was quite satysfying to discover that I can "save" an item in my "inventory". And the mood, wow, you nailed it! The only thing I'd change would be sfx - sometimes they were too loud and too distracting, toning them down and changing their pitch a little would help a lot. Great work!

Rush Hour by SephoWepho 2022-10-05T00:06:34Z

Wow, you NAILED IT! You got it all: it feels like one of the old papa games indeed, the art is good, the AI music fits it all well, the gameplay is stressful and really well-thought, the whole game is bug-less and it was made by only one person. Magnifique! I literally have no other feedback other than it's 5/5 for me, great work. Also, the min wage employee "joke" (is it really a joke, or just sad reality?...) was quite funny and I smiled to myself seeing the menancing ":3" emote in the intro :3

Sleepcheckers by Ehon 2022-10-05T00:30:27Z

@sofy @l-nthal @foulkes-art @payaosito @shimmerscale @bakemonomori thank you all so much for taking your time to play and rate, and thank you for your nice comments as well!

@0x-void-x0 The game was stresful on purpose, to add a twist to the classic puzzle game formula. And good point at the interactive tutorial, I ran out of time for that and I'm not too good at making tutorials. Thank you so much for playing : D

@kr4ft3r delicious pun, my friend xD I had to comment on that. Thanks for playing, glad you liked it!

@xenoparticle that's VERY useful feedback! You're very right. Honestly I can remove the "write mail" part, I think that can be the most confusing part of the typing prompts... thank you for the feedback and for playing Sleepcheckers!

@jeanne-rossat Hmm, no one else reported the bug with the cache code - no idea, what caused this, my only suggestion is that maybe when you were inputting the code, you started another typing prompt and the game locked on the other prompt, so you had to type the other one first? The coding part of it is kinda straighforward and I'ver no other idea what could have gone wrong...well, the other solution is maybe try another built than the web one - it was my first time exporting a game to html, so maybe there is trouble with that. Thank you for playing and for the feedback, it's really appreciated!

@sephowepho Thank you so much! It's always nice to see someone return to the game and play it after seeing some of my posts I wrote during the jam. Glad you like it and thank you for playing! Don't get caught by the Sleepchecker :eyes:

Sleepcheckers by Ehon 2022-10-05T00:32:55Z

@spacefudge Thank you so much and I'm really happy you enjoyed my little game!

Sleepcheckers by Ehon 2022-10-11T19:46:33Z

@eugenik @sofignedova @craftmuch @neojeb3748963 @seamless @joykangpae @neowhoru @erlioniel @artofluba @juliestrator @faust-mi @yoko-san Thank you all for playing and for your comments and feedback, I'm glad you liked my little game. Don't get caught by thr Sleepchecker :eyes:

@picttarge I laughed (verbally) on the screenshot and the comment you made on it. I think I just moved the interface in the hierarchy lower than the player character, it's just a small, quickly fixable bug. Thank you for playing!

@snowdrama I had a BIG discussion with my friends who tested the game about this and the solution you provided was actually considered to be implemented. However, we agreed, upon discussion, that the difficulty level would be quite low if the player was able to jump in and out as much as they like. I still feel the same way.I think there could be maybe easy mode and hard mode, and the easy mode could have the solution you described. Thank for playing! : D

@nardandas I'm aware that the shelves on the bed are "tempting" to click on design-wise. I wanted to add maybe a light halo around the bed when the mouse enters it (so the player knows it's one big object) so there won't be any misunderstandings or misclicks while exploring the room. Thank you for playing and for valuable feedback!

@keip in a previous comment I replied with solutions to the code not working, so I'll copy/paste them for you if you would like to try again ^^ here:

no idea, what caused this, my only suggestion is that maybe when you were inputting the code, you started another typing prompt and the game locked on the other prompt, so you had to type the other one first? The coding part of it is kinda straighforward and I’ver no other idea what could have gone wrong…well, the other solution is maybe try another built than the web one - it was my first time exporting a game to html, so maybe there is trouble with that.

Thank you for playing and for the feedback, it’s really appreciated!

@defrag If I had a little more time, I'd try to make a bed timer and maybe a "save" mechanics for the problem you described, thats actually a really good idea. Answering your lore-related question, people in the world of Sleepcheckers are allowed only to do what Sleepcheckers want them to do, so they can walk around normally (at the day) as long as they fulfill monsters' wishes. But I won't tell you what they require the people to do... Thank you for playing!

@sipfindel the character stays in the bed for the same interval each time which is around 3 seconds, so it's not random - if it was random it would be unplayable I think xD Maybe try playing a donwloadable version as it might have been an issue with your browser? Just guessing. Thank you for playing!

@michaelaranda well, it might have been just my poor tutorial writing, I'm not a native english speaker. hank you so much for playing!

@tetrapteryx ESC is listed in the tutorial/controls as an escape button, so it worked just as planned, haha. Thank you for playing!

Sleepcheckers by Ehon 2022-10-12T21:27:25Z

@steve7411 haha, if I land high enough in the rankings, I will maybe try to make a "full" version of Sleepcheckers :D Thank you for playing!

Sleepcheckers by Ehon 2022-10-14T00:49:15Z

@krasimir-balchev I think the main inspiration for Sleepcheckers was my old attempts of creating a creature-based ARG about a Sleepchecker - a creature that travels from home to home and check if people are asleep or not (and it they aren't, bad things happen). I'm not sure if there was any other particular inspiration to them as for the jam I just reused this old concept for the game purposes.

And yeah, I totally agree with the issue you described - I wanted to add a halo when the mouse enters the bed so the player knows it's one big clickable object but it was the one thing the time didn't allow me to code last minute. Thank you so much for playing and for the feedback :D Be careful and don't get caught by a Sleepchecker!

@deprecat

1. The player moving with mouse was intended to be "kinda" a disctraction. I added it quite early, cause I expected that the gameplay would be too easy without the need to e.g. move the mouse a bit to the side to see the typing prompt. Seems that the difficulty was high enough without that, so yeah, now it's a good idea to get rid of it. 2.I had a BIG discussion with my friends who tested the game about this and the solution you provided was actually considered to be implemented. However, we agreed, upon discussion, that the difficulty level would be quite low if the player was able to jump in and out as much as they like. I still feel the same way. I think there could be maybe easy mode and hard mode, and the easy mode could have the solution you described. 3. Lol, I probably didn't block some of the prompts properly from being typed out from bed. You found an exploit! xD 4. Haha, I see you're also not a fan of the theme :D Sleepcheckers are more about patience and about playing it a few times before you get the hang of it, it wasn't planned as a "full" game, especially that it was my first time ever using Godot. I totally agree that for Sleepcheckers The Full Game there should be some other mechanics and other ways to hide, as well as a longer time frame - like a minute or something - to type and search, and probably something like "lives" so the player can continue the game without losing the progress to some extend. Thank you for a lot of feedback and for playing! I also played your game, it was really cool : D

@gabriel-dias-oliveira-de-almeida thank you so much!

@perrin thank you! I agree, I was playtesting it with 20 seconds and it felt better this way for less "speedrun-ish" experience but well, we got the theme "every 10 seconds", and making it every 20 seconds wouldn't be really what the theme said xD But If I were to create a full game out of it, it will surely have a longer timeframe for clicking and typing.

Sleepcheckers by Ehon 2022-10-21T22:01:44Z

@kaylalalavalentine @jakubbala @kitkii @n-n @lex @nullval @ginahe thank you so much for playing and I'm glad you liked my little game :D

@johnnysix Yeah, as I mentioned before, I totally agree with the issue you described - I wanted to add a halo when the mouse enters the bed so the player knows it’s one big clickable object but it was the one thing the time didn’t allow me to code last minute. Thank you so much for playing and for the feedback :D Be careful and don’t get caught by a Sleepchecker!

@tattomoosa Hm, never had this issue...No idea what caused it :/ All I can say is that it was my first html expoty, so maybe there are some issues caused by that. Thank you for playing anyways!

@harksa @monika Thsoe are all really good suggestions, but it was my friest time using Godot for this game jam, so I wasn't really thinking about such complex features back then. However, those are amazing ideas for the future development and I totally agree! Thank you for playing :id:

See ya'll next Ludum Dare!

Connie by Payaosito 2022-10-04T23:21:49Z

Hey, don't sey it's junky, it felt very polished, especially for a solo entry! I liked guessing game with the ball and remembering only some of the combinations and experimenting on the other ones. It had really cool gameplay loop! I just wish there was maybe more recognizable sfx or visual effect (for the whole screen) when you were losing health to signal more the moment the player needs to grab the carrot. The music was a nice touch as well. A great one, keep it up!!

Peter OS by Brandsma 2022-10-13T22:41:29Z

Really unique take on the theme, I really like computer/phone.tech simulations and I liked this one as well. Solid entry!

Art.

A "Ding" In The Dark by yoko-san 2022-10-11T19:26:19Z

To everyone's surprise: it worked all well and smooth in the browser for me (using Firefox). Really moody and interesting take on the theme, the gameplay was also nice and the e-mail text was both real and funny :D Really cool entry and congrats on solo jamming!

Clique Hell High by Sean Esopenko 2022-10-11T19:04:49Z

Couldn't beat it but the game is so good and polished!! Very nice! I liked the music ans sfx a lot. As I noticed people had some running issues, I just wanted to let you know that I played on Firefox on web version and all was perfect, so no technical issues here. Thank you for that experience!

Ten Secs To Pack! by SpacelionJoe 2022-10-13T23:52:59Z

5/5. One of the best games of this Ludum Dare.

Clockwork Owl by spacefudge 2022-10-04T23:11:42Z

Hoot hoot, what a fun game you have here, ahha :eyes: The mechanics were really unique but it took me a second to get what's going on xD The mood, grahpics and audio go together well. Cool entry!

Soul of Seasons by shimmerscale 2022-10-04T23:40:00Z

Such a nice and cute little game, I liked it! The character movement was well made and the approach to the theme was quite unique, I never though about making seasons change every 10 seconds and I had a lot of different and weird ideas during the brainstorm phase. Defnitely a creative approach with some cute pixel art. My only feedback is that the music was a little too unsettling for the overall mood of the game, I'd maybe make it a little faster and "adventurous". Great job!

Zom-b shoot by neojeb3748963 2022-10-11T18:03:06Z

I don't know much about Scratch but your game, especially if that's your first one, is really cool! I like the mechanics concept, it's really refeshing and innovative!

Cockroach Hooray by NickPick 2022-10-12T21:39:18Z

Hi - told ya I'll be back to check out your game :D Really cool one, took me a few tries to win, I also like the concept of memorizing the room and navigating through it when it gets dark. Really good execution and congrats of developing such complex mechanics for a first godot game!

Slime cat! by Sofy 2022-10-04T22:27:56Z

It was really hard :D I loved how the physics of the characters were made, really fited the title, haha. The music was nice as well. Very cool entry!

The Little Bot That Could by Xenoparticle 2022-10-04T23:02:58Z

For a first game jam, that's amazing! My first jam I quitted halfway in rage and spent the rest of the time in my house, drinking tea to calm my nerves down, lol (and I'm not even joking!). I love how easy to understand your game is and how intuitive is to play, really spot on game design. Congratulations on this entry!
