LD50 — Delay the inevitable

Balloon Rush 2 by CocaPasteque 2022-04-08T05:15:40Z

So hard to play but an amazing game. Simple mechanic executed perfectly, and the acoustic music also works really well with the pencil art. Another future feature I can see being added is environmental gusts (or maybe it was added but I didn't endure long enough...) Keep up the great work!

Terrasite by superjai 2022-04-08T04:42:44Z

Well executed concept and really really polished! The tempo of the game is also very gripping. Not entirely sure but the railgun + missle combo seemed a bit overpowered (?) I would personally prefer a variety of equally viable guns instead of a hierarchy of weapons. But other than that, great work!

Moonshot by Diego Escalante 2022-04-10T03:28:10Z

Nice game! The physics (piloting), graphics and sound are very good and work together really well. The only thing I would say is that how it fits the theme exactly feels a bit forced. Other than that, great game within 72 hrs.

Cubic Defence by LeYamez 2022-04-08T04:57:02Z

Fantastic work! The art reminded me of many mobile games from the 2010s that I really missed, and it's amazing that you were able to figure the system of towers out in such a short time frame!

Estrella by Xiris 2022-04-11T22:28:51Z

Very fun and simple! The sound of the meteor exploding after you finish typing is especially satisfying. One little bug I found though was that the words don't change color for meteors with two lines when I type, so i thought it wasn't working. But overall great work!

My Story by Ausstein 2022-04-08T16:02:06Z

Nice take on the theme! As somebody else had mentioned the pong sequence felt a bit too long (I had to make myself loose so I can get on with the story). Other than that, nice little game!

Battery Low by Milestone Games 2022-04-09T00:28:18Z

Amazing game! The sound design is (literally) out of this world (on mars) and everything just runs so smoothly.

Highrail to hell by BadPiggy 2022-04-09T23:48:34Z

Nice aesthetic with a simple but fun movement set!

REWOB by alanxoc3 2022-04-08T04:09:52Z

Great graphics and sound! Emphasizing the protection part of the mission is also a nice idea. For me the control scheme was a bit difficult to get used to at first, but other than that it's really polished!

just drive. by Str0nkyK0ng 2022-04-09T00:48:12Z

Thank you for making this.

Though I'm sure they mean well please ignore comments that say this is not a game -- as someone who also likes slow & idle games I get that all the time too (for this jam as well). There shouldn't be such stringent boundaries to what a medium can be, and this is one of the best games I played this week.

Some suggestions though: 1. I don't think you have to explicitly mention the "delay the inevitable" in one of the dialogues -- for me how it hits the theme is strong and obvious enough. 2. At the end, maybe making the car accelerate and drive off the screen while the camera pans away/zooms out would be really cool (that's personal preference though).

Other than that -- again, it is amazing, please keep making more.

Hydroponica by Cakestorm 2022-04-08T18:53:41Z

Fantastic game, I really like simple games, and especially ecological games, with a beautiful feel and this nails it. Like the other comments mentioned one thing that felt off was the pace (I could never get the CO2 back up) and there was lots of frantic clicking involved, which I think was not the intention of the game. But other than that, great work and please work on it further!

The Railroad to Elsewhere by Save Sloth Studios 2022-04-11T22:45:40Z

The dialogue is amazingly well written and it fits really well with the aesthetic. All the characters are intriguing, including of course the main character. I've always liked trains myself, and I think this game really captures what is so magical about them. Great game.

Bald Dad tries not to die by Re-Lo 2022-04-08T05:25:14Z

Fantastic art and the controls feel very good. I also liked the limited ammo idea a lot. The bald thing is also hilarious --> maybe make him grow balder over the time of the game would be even better (just a suggestion lol)

Last Point by Itooh 2022-04-08T05:07:26Z

Definitely me off guard. Initially I wasn't sure how a exploration game could fit in as 'delay the inevitable' but placing the 'goal' and the end of the game as what is inevitable is a deep and brilliant idea (meta). Amazing concept. Gameplay wise, great art and the soundtrack is also really atmospheric. I think adding a more systematic lore (i.e. more links between the lore of different planets) for the player to figure something out would be the cherry on top. Other than that, fantastic game.

The Last Sunrise by zacryol 2022-04-09T01:10:25Z

Polished game! I'm not sure how it fits in to the theme of the jam though (the 'delay' part of 'delay the inevitable'), since puzzle games are supposed to be always solvable (not inevitable).

@tsugumi @georgii-gerasimov @makerart @boxedmeatrevolution @redoplus Thanks so much for the feedback -- they mean a lot for first-timers like us! There's definitely still a lot for us to work on especially on sound. We also recently added a Web version and adjusted the tempo of the game (today around 11 US EST), please feel free to re-play as well!

Unfinished Valley by stochastic 2022-04-08T15:53:03Z

Great prototype! I would love to play the finished version.

Void Prison by Tadas Migauskas 2022-04-11T22:37:28Z

Best arcade I've played in this jam! The choice of not using health but instead being pushed to the edge as the death condition is a really simple yet smart and effective innovation. You also nailed the control scheme and the entire game just feels smoothed and polished as hell.

Life of an Intern by Dactarium 2022-04-08T04:31:24Z

The game is hilarious -- should definitely be tops in the humor section! The gameplay feels really smooth as well, and the background music also hits the right mood. The only thing I would say is that it felt a bit monotonous after a while, so adding some more variety to the geography / weapons would definitely make it better. Great job!

Little Time Hero by TERNOX 2022-04-08T19:00:59Z

One of the best graphics + soundtrack combination I saw today! The game is also simple and fun (definitely saw the loop hero influence there which is great), and personally I'd love to see more variety on the landscape in the future.

Candler by SunJet 2022-04-08T04:20:18Z

Congrats on the first game! It's fun even though it's simple.

Finally! An effective treatment for male pattern baldness! by scgrn 2022-04-08T04:59:32Z

Full marks, period.
