The graphics and ambiance are insane! My favourite is the effect when you hit an asteroid and the screen shakes. So juicy. The dialog is pretty fun to follow too, hell of a job!

Incredible atmosphere with that combination of elaborate dialogue, graphics, audio and difficulty. The story hits the theme spot on!

I encountered a small bug with the impact ETA (which I noticed only after it had corrected itself about two rounds later when i hit my first piece of debris) - the ETA started with and did not change from "imminent".

Overall an awesome game!

Great narrative. Really got me engaged. Poor space people! Great sound design and rocket controls felt good (especially as it got its upgrades). Excellent entry!

Great job with this. the audio, graphics and aesthetic all fit together really well for a 48 hour game. It is a simple game concept with so much polish added to it.!

benbennett 2022-04-09 06:22

The graphics and sound were well done and felt very cohesive. Sometimes it seemed like the asteroids were moving too fast to dodge, not sure if intentional or not. Either way it matched the vibe of the story. Great entry!

generalsturgeon 2022-04-09 12:29

Lovely atmosphere (pun intended) and narrative! Very solid entry. The controls felt a bit sluggish starting off but otherwise can't really come up with any constructive feedback. Great job!

frogravity 2022-04-09 15:05

Wow. I did not expect this. Incredible mood and polish. The dialogues were great. I'd say the gameplay felt a bit too sluggish and hard, but I think it actually only adds to the experience. Overall, amazing entry!

sacredbacon 2022-04-09 21:07

Beautiful effects and art, love the narrative with the impending demise of the base. Especially like the Apocalypse mode. Great falling blocks game, the upgrade system vs the increasing quantity of debris was balanced well. Great entry high marks all around!

josh-riley 2022-04-10 03:22

This is crazy good, by far my favorite I've played so far. The music and sounds were great (the scrolling dialogue/sfx that go with it is an easy thing to skip in a 48hr game jam, but I think they were worth the effort here). Great job!

ycb21 2022-04-10 03:28

Nice game! The physics (piloting), graphics and sound are very good and work together really well. The only thing I would say is that how it fits the theme exactly feels a bit forced. Other than that, great game within 72 hrs.

steve7411 2022-04-10 03:41

I love the artwork and music. I really like the story telling between rounds, although I wish it were skippable for the many, many retries it would take to get through successfully.

Really nice presentation with the graphics and dialogue. The rocket seemed too slow to be able to react to anything, but it sure does make you feel as helpless as the characters in the game do!

larsdu 2022-04-11 18:56

Audio and mood were A+!

kastaff 2022-04-11 19:44

Simple gameplay but really well put together. Especially love the dialogues, they hit right in the feels. Only one adjustment will be resize asteroids/rocket hitboxs, sometimes the two dont collide even when it fells like it should (on the fins) Other than that really good!

bar0net 2022-04-12 09:59

The graphics and audio are outstanding! And the controls are just right. It's a really smart concept and the game feels polished. Kudos!

jonah-srg 2022-04-12 16:27

This is a really evocative and cohesive presentation. The dialogue is nicely written, it ramps up the intensity as the game gradually gets more difficult. I am wondering if there's a true ending if you are able to get through with all missiles hitting the moon, but alas, I am out of practice with my dodging skills and wasn't able to get it. Well polished with great visual effects for the impacts and explosions. Really well done.

wfmg 2022-04-13 10:23

This is definitely one of the most well put together games this jam! The presentation is great. Like others have said, the graphics are fantastic and fit the mood very well. Beautiful pixel art. It's also a fun game and not too long, so people have time to finish it during play+rate without no-lifeing it. Great job!

glaikunt 2022-04-13 14:09

Loved this game. Hit me in the feelz. The music, dialog, and art are just spot on. It may have been good for the player to choose the upgrades but other than that have no bad thing to say about it. Great job!

machwerx 2022-04-14 06:44

Wonderful little story elements and the graphics were great!

tygrak 2022-04-14 08:32

That was really really good! The overall mood was great. Nice graphics -- great artstyle, very nice ambient background music and sounds. The dialogue was very nice, having a story like that really does improve a game by a ton! I also really enjoyed the gameplay, dodging things is just always super fun for me.

Great job making the game!

ajpl 2022-04-14 21:13

This was super depresing... I love it  Bit too hard for casual gamer, but mood, story, sounds - top notch :)

f1krazy 2022-04-15 14:23

This is one of the best games I've played this Ludum Dare. The graphics and sound effects are exceptional, the storyline is superbly-written and really kept me engaged, and the controls are finely-tuned. The collisions seemed pleasantly forgiving, there were a few occasions where it seemed like I *just* clipped an asteroid and a less forgiving game might have punished me, but this one didn't.

There's a definite difficulty spike after the second launch: I didn't get hit once during either of the first two launches, but then failed launches 3, 4, and 6, and barely scraped through launch 5. I like that the game continues even if you fail, though, it kinda emphasises the futility of what you're doing rather than allowing you to try again.

Brilliant job, you should be very proud.

Great game! Pacing between dialog and gameplay was top notch. Good job!

s-onoe 2022-04-17 20:17

Dialogue was very polished for this one. The ambience and sound design all add up to a great experience. Gameplay wise, I liked how the player agility increased through level progression. Well done.

fedora 2022-04-18 03:36

Really cool. The graphics are amazing!

joe40001 2022-04-18 04:16

My feedback: I'd increase text display rate by 20-60%, maybe slightly quiet the volume of the text bleeps. But otherwise a good and well balanced game. Obviously it's bleak and so the part of me who wants to 100% it and have fun wasn't fully satisfied, but I appreciated it for what it was. And it was pretty well balanced for a "dodge random objects" game. Those are often way too easy or too hard.

zimny11 2022-04-18 09:17

Nice pixel art. The game is really well polished. Good job!

link270 2022-04-19 16:21

Really nice game! I enjoyed it a lot! The first time I played I was wishing there was audio of some sort, then I realized my speakers were messed up haha so I played it again just to hear the audio, and it was really well done! I love the screen shakes and effects, and the controls felt both snappy and the acceleration was great to still require some skill to get through. My only feedback would be to add some sort of "currency" and upgrades to the mix. I am glad there were auto upgrades at least, but it would be fun to be able to upgrade your nuke each round how you want. More speed, damage, maybe even give the nuke a few laser blasts or something as upgrade options? Really well done though! I liked it!

potkirland 2022-04-19 23:46

fine and polished game. very original take in the genre and theme of the event. i really like the controls too. pretty good well done
