LD46 — Keep it alive

HEAL ME PLZ by Pietro Ferrantelli 2020-04-22T14:13:52Z

The pixel art is to die for, don't really have to say much there. The game is rather funny as well, especially that intro XD. However, I think the way you choose a character to perform their special move was a little clunky. You could end up aiming and kicking a character even if you didn't really want to. That happens when they move towards you as well which could get a little annoying. Overall though, it's a great game and is really addictive.

Protektor by rujo 2020-05-02T05:53:23Z

I loved the pixel art. The game was nice and fast paced as well. The auto aim helped nicely. I got rather frustrated when enemies who I couldn't see shot me around a corner, but it was great. Simple and effective and fun. Good entry :)

Medic! by mrbandler 2020-04-23T04:02:26Z

Great concept and it's execution was nice. The random bullets made things a little frustrating since you'd have to wait a long time until a soldier would get shot, but in your defence that's how things would have actually been in real life XD. Also, the size of the bullets was also a little too small. The pixel art was great though. Good game none the less :)

Keep It Alive by danman9914 2020-04-25T04:28:55Z

So simple yet so fun as well. Every mechanic was well made and well done. The game overall was very fun and well put-together. I absolutely loved the pixel art and the audio as well. Didn't know the importance of the heart till the end though XD. I guess the only real complaint I have is that the game could be longer. But I suppose this way it doesn't overstay it's welcome. Awesome game overall man. Well done :)

Milk Trail by Mr_Field 2020-05-09T03:15:08Z

I loved the pixel art. The audio was nice as well. The game is a little too hard when playing solo though XD. Just make the enemies a little slower. I couldn't play in co-op because, well...no one to play with. I suppose the game would have been easier in co-op. I also think you should tell players what exactly they should do. I didn't even know that you needed to buy the engine and place it until I experimented and did it. Giving it a kick to start was a nice touch XD. I really did like your game and feel it should recieve more praise, but just fix the balancing issues, then it will be an amazing game. Great job :)

The Keep! It's Alive! by minibobbo 2020-04-23T17:54:38Z

Dude......make an offline downloadable version. Please.... This is honestly the most original game of the jam. And the most fun one. Graphics were simple and nice. I cannot express how much fun it is to smash other characters in this game XD. Absolutely loved it. If I had to say something was bad, I'd say that I wish the characters did a little more than just run towards the left or right. Awesome game none the less :)

Untitled Plant Game by ponywolf 2020-04-23T04:35:18Z

Loved the pixel art style. The audio was nice too. The mechanics for the sunlight required were nice since it forced you to look through houses quickly. And later things do change a lot XD. Good game :)

WHALE HOUSE by Besto 2020-04-21T04:00:22Z

The pixel art was great and the audio was nice. Rather decent take on the theme with the blood of the whale forming. Great game man :)

Tiny Fragments by Daniel Moreno 2020-04-25T11:39:33Z

Probably one of the most innovative games of this jam. The game was damn fun and the audio was very enticing. It was very fun having to manipulate the pieces of the level. The graphics were simple and had some rather well done pixel art. Overall it was a well-made experience.

No Fish To Die by dillonbecker 2020-04-23T02:55:49Z

It's rather hard to say the least XD. Still, the pixel art was damn nice. The music as well. Maybe if the frequency at which the lasers fired was reduced, it would be a little better. Just to give the player a little leeway. It's a good game to test a speed runner's mettle though. That's for sure. Good job man :)

HareFare by Gumboot 2020-04-28T03:14:31Z

The graphics were nice and cute. The audio was serene to say the least. All the models gave off a cartoony and fun vibe. Flying through the sky listening to the music was damn nice. Combat was a little hard though, most probably cus I was using keyboard controls. The mechanics of getting water from clouds and using it for the islands was nice. Maybe for the sake of making resource management better, you could improve the targetting while shooting along with the controls for PC. Still, this game is a keeper for me. Good job man :)

Desktop Garden by 0x0 2020-04-23T03:49:01Z

Easily the most innovative of all the games in this jam. Th kind of thing you can play while doing anything else on your computer. Great job man :)

Little Human by yyam 2020-05-03T04:23:48Z

Really enjoyed this one. The pixel art was simple but did it's job very well. The audio was nice and soothing as well. The puzzles were rather well put-together. And you wouldn't believe the look on my face when a fish jumped out of no-where and ate my character XD. There were a few bugs in some levels though. The main character would rebound even though there wasn't anything in front of him causing him to die for no reason. Still, once you patch those loose edges the game will be infinitely better. Amazing job overall :)

Solais by dragonxvi 2020-04-28T03:25:43Z

Simple but very effective basically describes every aspect of this game. The pixel art was awesome, but the main character could be a little more detailed. This is one of the few games of this jam in which you can really speedrun in. My time was 5:07 btw. The audio was great and did it's job as well. There isn't too much wrong with the game. I suppose the spikes could be a little hard to see. Either way, it's a great entry. Nice job :)

For Ducks' Sake by GaryS 2020-04-26T03:54:59Z

The pixel art was gorgeous. First and foremost. The audio for the knomes was nice and so was the music. The ducklings looked adorable btw. I was using a mouse for aiming and it did feel a little inconsistent at times. Maybe you could have another control scheme where you're moving with WASD and shooting with the arrow keys. Also, the number of knomes on screen gets a little too crazy to the point where I can't even see the ducklings which are left. I realise that it was done to make the game harder or more challenging, but when I can't even see what I'm protecting, it gets a little frustrating. Still, this was an awesome entry. Good job :)

The Seeker by GeorgeBroussard 2020-04-30T15:48:22Z

I've seen many protect the fire games of this jam. This one was easily one of the best. The simple but very effective pixel art style was nice. The thunderstorm sounds also gave the game a rather somber mood. The game would be a nice speed-running game as well. However, there are a few portions in the game where it's impossible not to have rain fall on you. Also, better hit detection wrt the rain drops would be nice. A little more feedback than the sound of the flame getting doused would be nice. Overall though, definitely nice.

Keep It Alive by mhykah 2020-04-28T12:03:25Z

The pixel art is awesome. The audio as well was nice. All the 4th wall breaking moments were laugh out loud in all honesty XD. I thought Greeny was a good name btw. For what it does, it's great. Easily the funniest game of the jam. Great job :)

Battery Life by fazz 2020-04-24T05:19:43Z

So I could find one battery in the beginning. Couldn't find one after...... Still, the pixel art and audio was damn nice. The mood was the best thing this game had going for it and it did it well. A nice entry overall, just make the batteries a little easier to spot

Mount Ookie by Brusi 2020-04-23T04:12:16Z

The pixel art was amazing. The audio as well was on par and was rather funny as well i.e the sounds for when the wasps were thrown towards each other and when Okie ate them. I felt that Okie's health kind of deteriorated a little too quickly, but still, it was an amazing game none the less.

It Came From Inside! by Ziamor 2020-04-28T02:49:37Z

I loved the pixel art and the main gameplay mechanic. The music was nice as well and set a good mood. I think the jump should have been a little higher cus I died sometimes only cus I wasn't able to reach a higher step. Also, some way to let the player know about the cooldown period at which the charging organism (I'm not sure what it was so just calling it that XD....) can charge. It's a great start, that's for sure. Nice job :)

FIRE-MUST-BURN by TheCze 2020-04-21T12:53:59Z

The concept and it's execution is cool. However the movement controls were a little laggy. Nice graphics. Rather good game overall :)

Egg Hero by Firebelley 2020-05-09T03:22:05Z

The pixel art was awesome and the music was cool too. Movement as fast and fluid and it felt nice smashing enemies. However, having the enemies continuously re-spawn was not a good choice. I would smash them and then see that they still did not die. This would be a great game. Just have to iron out some issues. Great job man :)

IcyNoid by XCVZXC 2020-04-21T14:48:31Z

The design of this game is it's best aspect. The pixel art is awesome and the music (oh god the music...) is damn good. Rather nice for a jam game man. Good job :)

File Survival by Probe31 2020-04-28T03:47:38Z

I absolutely loved this XD. The UI was amazing and the sound effects for everything were so nostalgic. However, the game feels unnecessarily hard at times. Some windows would end up overlapping making it difficult to find them again which would lead to a gameover and I wouldn't know why. Also, the time given for the player to react is a little too low IMO.Still, it's an awesome game as is and I'm definitely keeping it after the jam.

Ars Pandemonic by leon75 2020-05-09T02:54:50Z

The graphics and audio were rather nice and established a good mood. The feedback given when an enemy hurts you is great. Maybe if you made the game a little more fast paced, it would do wonders for the game. The pixel art was nice as well. Good job all around :)

God Save the CHRIST! by Gogani 2020-04-21T13:05:13Z

The concept is awesome. The pixel art is simple but very good. The music as well is rather nice. The ending was a little unexpected but good none the less. I'm definitely keeping a copy of the windows version. Phenomenal game overrall. I really don't have any complaints. It's mindless fun at it's best :)

Vine and Void by JUSTCAMH 2020-04-21T13:24:53Z

Easily one of the better games of the jam. The kind of game you can just mess about in even if you don't know what to do. I really have no complaints. The vines were awesome. The fact that each world is procedurally generated helps with replayability as well. I absolutely loved it.

Space Exodus by Kaish 2020-05-03T04:07:53Z

Amazing pixel art right off the bat. The audio was limited ( but then again....it is space after all) but was used nicely for the different planets. I would have liked a larger field of view though. I found myself just going around space until I reached the edge though. Most of the time I didn't know where I was going but then again, it's space XD. Still, it's an awesome game and I did find another habitable planet. Nice job overall :)

Neighbor - a spooky pixel adventure by kristinamay 2020-04-21T03:56:28Z

Absolutely loved the music and the mood. The pixel art was amazing as well. Maybe you could have done a little more with the theme but the ending was nice as well. Rather good point and click adventure :)

Nessie Alliance by zerocomms 2020-04-23T04:17:31Z

The pixel art is great. The audio was decent as well.It was a little hard to aim with the wizards. A nice concept none the less

DataHunter by A_ColtZz 2020-05-03T04:43:53Z

I can only comment on gameplay I guess since you opted out of graphics and audio since they weren't yours. I suppose the rest of the game is rather nice. Shooting drones felt nice and the character movement was great. Having only one level was a little sad though. A little more complexity in the mechanics would help the game a lot as well. Still, nice job none the less :)

Pirabbit by TimeTravelHamster 2020-05-09T02:32:14Z

Cool game. Loved the pixel art. The main character was very well animated. You could have a short click lead to smaller jump though, that would help a lot. This would definitely work as a mobile game as well. However, I found it next to impossible to not get hit by the bird carrying the fish. A little heads up or something from the bird would be nice. Still, a great game overall :)

Unnamed Balloon Game: Video Game Edition by 1PunnyGuy44 2020-04-20T18:05:40Z

Really loved it man :). The physics to the balloon are perfect. The main character was animated beautifully as well. The voice over's were funny XD. A little more variety to the audio would be nice but overall I absolutely enjoyed it dude. Well done

Mycelium by BlobRoss 2020-05-09T02:42:38Z

The pixel art is astounding. That's for sure. The audio was great as well. A little more feedback for if the player got hit and something to show if he died would be nice. Just having him or the other mushrooms disappear doesn't really tell much and can lead to you forgetting they got destroyed. Still, it's a polished entry and is a lot of fun. Great game :)

No Way Back by alexbljack 2020-05-03T03:44:22Z

The idea was excellent. Don't think I've ever seen anything of this sort before when it comes to real time strategy. But the execution was a little off. The pixel art was nice and the game was rather challenging. Some more work into it and it could be great. Nice job :)

Captain Bean and lil Jalapeño by Tsamf 2020-04-21T03:03:15Z

A tutorial would be nice. Or atleast something to tell what the controls are. This game could be a lot better but is a decent effort none the less.

KIA by Marlo 2020-04-24T17:28:31Z

Simple design and addictive gameplay. I loved the pop which came whenever you collided with an object. I also liked that there was some strategy involved as well since you had to prioritise which enemies you really had to avoid for the sake of your resources at that moment. I had two issues though. One was that it was a little too easy to collide with an enemy who just spawned and that too spawned at a position where I couldn't see them. Also, it would be better to have a numeric value to express health and exp as well since only the bar did not really give a clear picture. Still, it was a good game all around :)

I would like to thank all of you for your feedback and for playing Tower of BOOM. I have taken all of your feedback into consideration and will be releasing a patched version of the game (with some new content as well.....) after the jam. I hope all of you did enjoy the game and I thank you for your critical feedback.

Also, @caberu to answer your question, yes. I was inspired by Broforce for the art style. @entropymaximizer that's a great high score man. Glad to see you liked the game a lot :)

I'm happy to inform you all that I have uploaded a post-jam version of Tower of BOOM on itch which is available for windows and WebGL. I have taken your feedback and tried to address many of the issues present in the game along with adding some new things ( like a kick which servers as a melee attack and allows you to drop-kick grenades). I will still continue to update the game from here as there is a lot more I have planned. Thanks for being a part of this game :)

Critical Freight by Nathan Wiles 2020-04-21T04:37:55Z

Loved the radio cues which came inbetween XD. Shooting felt nice and the game and overall setup were great. Good job man :)

Scrambl'd by StarErik 2020-04-24T03:22:04Z

It's a little confusing as to how high a fall can kill you. Still, the graphics and audio were damn nice. The game was a lot of fun overall and is a nice entry. Great job man :)

Mr. Cheesy by SAVVU 2020-04-25T12:05:20Z

A simple idea, but executed very well. The graphics were awesome and well drawn with some great pixel art. The music as well was super. I also perposefully went over the grinders some times XD cus the cheese's reaction and seeing a plate come under was hilarious to say the least XD. You have a good mobile game on your hands here. Nice job overall

CRAZ by RexTGun 2020-04-25T03:19:06Z

The blood effects were nice. I liked the fast paced-nature of the game as well. However, I felt that the pathways were a little too narrow. The audio was limited but the sfx which were there was satisfying. Still, body switching and shooting was rather fun. This was a cool game all around with some nice presentation. Good job :)

Snail Guard by bredcrumb 2020-04-20T18:14:44Z

Loved the graphics and audio. The mechanic of the game was nice as well. It was a little hard to drag objects with the mouse. The stick would often get stuck near other objects. Still, it was a great game :)

LD47 — Stuck in a loop

Stuck In Paris by CocaPasteque 2020-10-08T16:26:16Z

Well it's fun in a silly way XD. I found that you could cheese some levels by driving in the innermost lane though. The crashes reminded me of burnout. The camera made it a little difficult to see other cars though. Great job on the main menu as well. A nice entry overall

Debugger by wdebowicz 2020-10-10T18:07:12Z

Dude XD. This is the most original thing I've ever seen. I love it. The platforming as well is really cool XD. 5/5 for innovation. But it's just really sad that the game can be cheesed by just jumping off the walls. Pls work more on this though :)

BLOOP by danman9914 2020-10-06T16:48:25Z

This is a really good game man. The concept of the timeline expanding kept things very fresh and the overall story and art style was really cool. A short little game but one which leaves a huge impact. It can be a little frustrating to have to redo certain sections though but the overall product is really great man

Magmania by CameronPenner 2020-10-22T08:03:54Z

This is a really cool game. The graphics and audio were simple and honestly really cute. I loved the main character's animations especially. Rather cool usage of the theme and having the platform fall into the lava unless you stabalize it is a rather nice design. I felt that the game needed more of a tutorial to it since I didn't know what I had to do. Still, it was a really great game. Nice entry overall.

BLOBIUS by chaoclypse 2020-10-08T03:18:36Z

This is abosolutely amazing dude. Really great usage of the theme. It's really fun as well. At times I felt that it was a little confusing as to whether I should press left or right but I suppose that's just a by-product of the game's design and something which can be avoided with practice. Time slowing down when one of your bullets was next to you was a really great touch. Still, probably my favourite game so far with amazing presentation. Well done

Fort Loop by deepnight 2020-10-07T04:53:22Z

This is rather nice. I absolutely loved the pixel art.The sounds were great too. The presentation as a whole was great. I felt that the jump height was a little too low though. Also, the indicator for when the flame goes out could be a little better since it's not too easy to tell. Still, it's a really fun game with some stellar presentation

Bust-a-Loop by PeachTreeOath 2020-10-10T12:05:27Z

This is really bloody addictive dude. A little more polish and it could be a pretty cool puzzle game. The combos were really satisfying to pull off and the simplistic art style was great. The only critiques I have are because your game lacks audio and lacks more detailed animations but I supposed it can't be helped cus of the time limit XD. I'd honestly just want to see more of this. Well done because what is here is good none the less

Ribbon by 100th_Coin 2020-10-15T03:05:55Z

Easily the most innovative game of the jam. Graphics were nice and simple as well. I guess the vertical movement isn't too intuitive and the music was a little repetitive but I'm honestly just nitpicking at this point. It's a bloody awesome entry and I had fun. I was sad there wasn't more though XD

PolyFury by Dom Harris 2020-10-21T15:56:46Z

So simple yet so fun. Really polished and had some really nice bullet patterns as well. A major complaint was that the game was over too quickly XD. I honestly want more of this. Still, there are a few things I want to say about it.

The bullet patterns were really good and had a great amount of diversity to them. I also liked how you had to systematically remove armor from the boss. Gave it a little depth as well. However, due to the perspective it kind of made it a little hard to judge whether I would get hit by certain bullets or not. This problem was present mostly if I was at the furthest from the camera.

A little more visual feedback for when you get hit or when you're regaining health from the green powerup would go a long way as well.

The representation of the healthbars were really cool. I loved their visual design. In fact if you continue with this game, keep the visual design as simple as this and maybe change up the pallete here and there. I loved it and would like to see more.

Really fun entry man. Thanks for telling me about it :)

Hoop Knight by lectvs 2020-10-06T05:25:15Z

ngl, Really had a lot of fun with this one.The bombs the boss spawned in the end would sometimes get caught in the corner though. Still, it's a great concept and a fun game. Great job

a Damsel a Day by alec 2020-10-12T08:33:17Z

This was a nice entry. The art was simple but really great. The music was nice but could a little repetitive. I felt that there a lot of aspects of the game which were a little underutilised but it is a compo game so you had only so much time. The current system you have in place can either make an impossible section or make a really easy one. The design seemed a little too simple but either way, it's a great entry. Nice job

Defuse in under 5 by Darylsteak 2020-10-06T11:07:57Z

This is really fun man. It's really fun to have the characters stay in specific places for later runs to try and get the combination for the bomb. My high score was 2662. The slider to adjust the difficulty was really cool as well.

Hang on, Bill! by zanzavar 2020-10-11T10:13:37Z

It was a really fun puzzle. Trying to get the right sequence of clicks was cool and I was definitely stuck in a loop. There isn't too much wrong with it and it's really cool for something made in only a few days. Still, I wish there was some indicator to let me know when I would be allowed to click again since only one event can happen at a time and it can be annoying to be clicking and have nothing happen. Great game none the less and a rather funny one at that XD

Escape Velocity by OrdiNeu 2020-10-06T15:42:25Z

It's a rather nice game. The pixel art is what draws you in but the gameplay demands some real skill and is quite fun once you get the hang of it.The controls take a little while to get used to but it's great none the less. Maybe just increase the speed at which you rotate though

Countercl0ckwise by Iker Díaz 2020-10-27T12:07:51Z

This was a really fun game man. I loved the aesthetic, so simple but very effective. The red zones coming on top of the platforms were a little hard to dodge but the game as a whole is really fun. Would love to have an offline version of this. Great job

HONK II by Tricky_Fat_Cat 2020-10-08T04:30:49Z

HONK !!! But seriously, really fun game. And I'm a sucker for anything DOOM-like so I had to play this. Great pixel art and audio and the game was fun overall. I think the recoil for some weapons was a little too large but otherwise it was really cool :)

Hangin' Around by Nocity 2020-10-14T13:09:06Z

This was a really funny game tbh XD. One of the few games where the humor score can actually be graded XD. I loved the monochrome pallete for the sections when the player was stuck. I felt that having the minigames be in more detailed colour palletes was kinda breaking the immersion. Still, the minigames were fun and the game was great overall. Really nice entry

Slime Boi by noakishere 2020-10-08T05:11:04Z

This was a rather fun game. The graphics were nice as well. However, it seemed like it was virtually impossible to dodge rocks at times. The rock which comes in the center from the top felt a little random and unfair as well. Any type of indicator would have helped tremendously to know where the rocks would come from. Rather fun none the less. Got 1200. Nice entry

Paper Planes by SamDemaine 2020-10-11T15:45:07Z

This entire game basically takes "simple but so effective" to new heights. I loved it and will probably play it now and again because it's just so fun. Great job dude. This could be a winner. I don't really have any complaints. Maybe some difficulty modes to adjust the speeds of the planes but I honestly can't find much wrong with the game. Amazing job

Crystal Curse by LouieJams 2020-10-07T03:22:58Z

Not too much in terms of theme, but tbh the game is rather good none the less. The pixel art is really good as well. The intensity of having to use certain traps for each enemy was nice. I wish the player movement speed was a little faster though. Great job none the less

The Titan's grave by BadPiggy 2020-10-08T02:40:52Z

@gizmolo yes. You currently hold the new record for the game XD. Great job XD

The Titan's grave by BadPiggy 2020-10-10T02:49:22Z

@jefvel what was your strat to get that timing man? My God XD. I can't even get anywhere close to that. You have the fastest time in the game now dude XD. Congrats and thank you for the feedback

The Titan's grave by BadPiggy 2020-10-10T11:35:42Z

@jefvel it appears you have mastered the game dude. Great job. Thanks a lot for showing your strat btw XD. Shows I might have to re-think some things about the game's design XD.

The Titan's grave by BadPiggy 2020-10-14T05:34:25Z

@toccio94 first of all, thank you for playing and for the feedback :). And as for your question about visibility, I posted in a lot of places like reddit and twitter. I think that helped a lot

O O O by RexTGun 2020-10-09T04:28:20Z

Most fun game I've played during the jam man. Probably one I'll still be playing after as well. A very cool twist on pong and just a ton of fun overall. If I have any complaints it's mostly just nitpicking but the ping sound for when you're racking up combos can be a little annoying later on. Not much in terms of theme other than being stuck in an addictive loop of playing the game XD. Phenomenal job

Fear Of Gears by dev_dwarf 2020-10-11T12:55:09Z

The combat was really great dude. It's a really fun and polished rogue-lite. I felt that the arena was a little too small for the action though. Or maybe there were a little too many enemies at a time at some points which made things a little hard to see. Still, a very fun entry and one I'll probably keep playing for some time :)

Loopy Dungeon by SpaceGuinea Productions 2020-10-09T16:58:43Z

It's a great and unique idea. The art was nice as well. Any sort of bullet feedback would have helped a ton though. A nice entry which can probably be better but is rather nice none the less with a unique concept.

Looper by Shortbread 2020-10-10T03:46:14Z

This was a cool game. The aesthetic and music were just so pleasing. The puzzles were great as well. However, (and this might be just me....) it could be very annoying when you end up going in the direction you didn't intend and it's rather easy to get confused due to the nature of the design of the levels. Still, it might just be me but it was very frustrating when it happened. On that note, the level design is really good and well thought out. This is a very great entry.

SORO BORO by nethead 2020-10-06T03:15:35Z

The art was really damn good dude. The music was rather nice as well. You got the theme right but the game ended up being rather repetetive XD. But for a compo game done in probably less than two days. This is awesome dude.

Also, there was a bug in the lower center of the arena with the hitbox of the ground being raised a little. Or was it intentional XD ?

Aztec Ride by Idan Rooze 2020-10-06T17:28:19Z

The art was simple but really effective and the audio was amazing. It's a really good mechanic. I found out in the second run that I had to launch people into the air and catch them to regain fuel. Still, an amazing game and worth coming back to. Great job overall

LoopHole by PixelMoose Studio 2020-10-06T03:24:20Z

Loved the mechanic of the shotgun shells firing after a period of time, moving around a looping level was cool as well. The pixel art was simple but was really cool and effective. Great job overall :)

LD48 — Deeper and deeper

Manic Miner by ryannielson 2021-04-27T11:42:27Z

A simple game which was fun. Nothing more to really add other than that. It was nice to play and did have a decent air of on the fly strategy with trying to get air bubbles. It was a nice game overall. My high score is roughly 286

Lost in Thought by Maple 2021-04-28T06:18:18Z

Really great job on this. I loved the designs of each level, they were hard but they never felt impossible. I also loved how you can chain between wall jumping and normal platforming by rotating the level. That was seriously cool. I guess the amount of inertia on the player when rotating could be reduced. Kinda wished he would stay in place during a rotation. Still though, amazing game :)

Abyssonaut by thomas-olsson 2021-05-04T04:28:20Z

First off, really great that you're continuing to use simple art styles similiar to what you guys did with Olija. I absolutely love simplicity in pixel art and feel more games should honestly do this. This game was really cool, presentation was on point and the gameplay loop was really fun. Kicking enemies was really satisfying lol. Having some strategy in place with knowing when to anchor down and collect coins or just do some minor exploration was neat as well. Also liked that rocks could be used for managing the weight on the ship and to cause damage to enemies. I liked the fact that the exploration present was minimal though. It ensured that my focus was always on the ship and going deeper.

However, I felt that the things on the walls which shoot white hooks at the ship were kinda useless and didn't really stop me going down (Except while going up, then they became a little more of a threat lol).

This was seriously a good entry. I'll probably try it again cus it was just fun to play lol. Great job on this.

Upset Crab by 43sam 2021-04-28T11:23:48Z

Crab souls lol. This was rather fun. The pixel art was absolutely awesome and I loved the parallax in the background. The enemy types were cool as well and I loved how you mixed them up in the encounters present in the game. The combat was nice though things did get a little repetitive. I liked that you could reflect the bullets spawned but it was annoying that they still collided with dead enemies. It was a little hard to tell if you'd get hit by the projectiles spawned by the boss. All it needed was a shadow or something for the projectiles.

Still though, the game was damn fun

Fetal Fury by Squidly 2021-04-28T02:50:32Z

So this was fun lol. The combat was surprisingly cathartic with the combination of the grappling hook and slashing. The voice acting and music were top notch and nailed the over-the-top effect. The graphics were really cool. Enemy designs were nice as well. The timer kept things fast paced and fun. I'm probably going to be playing this one for a while lol

DOWNHELL by Belonzik 2021-05-03T14:34:55Z

This was actually pretty cool man. Art style's really great right off the bat and was nice and simple. The animations were really cool as well. I also loved the enemy variety and how you mixed them up, kept things interesting and prevented the combat from getting stale. Were you inspired by a game called Gutwhale ? The worms and skulls kinda reminded me of that game lol. The laser beam was rad, made me feel powerful lol.

On to what I didn't really like. Enemies kinda spawn a little too fast into the room and as a result, you end up taking up damage before you can act (or maybe I'm slow lol). The fire rate of the pot enemies and the small fireball-like enemies was a little too high as well. On top of that, it was a little hard to tell if they'd fire or not. Any kind of indicator would help there. Maybe slow down the frames of animation which occur when they're getting ready to fire. That would be a good indicator and provide better anticipation to their attacks. Also I feel like bigger rooms would really help in this game, cus it's a little hard to dodge in the currently cramped rooms lol.

Still, I really liked this game. I got uptil the first section where you can buy upgrades and I'm definitely going to play this more. Awesome job

Below the Ocean by Ismael Rodriguez 2021-05-02T05:13:27Z

Phenomenal work on this. I'm a sucker for 1-bit art and so I loved the art right off the bat. The audio was nice and calming. The gameplay was really well done and polished as well. The water and rope physics were awesome and have potential for some really cool puzzles. And of course, you met that potential and then some. Every level in this game was designed beautifully. I loved the mechanics in play and the combination of mechanics for later levels like the bubbles and air currents. I honestly did not have any problems with this game apart from some nitpicks. I got stuck at the level after you learn about how you can swing because I didn't really think about wrapping the rope around a cube to swing there. Maybe a little hint would have helped but I guess it could also have just been me being slow to realise it lol. Moreover, some of the levels kinda felt like I got a little lucky with my swings since the rope got a little too tight at somepoints. Maybe increasing the length of the rope at certain levels would help alleviate this. Also I felt that the sprite for the yellow switches seems a little out of place in comparison to the rest of the game. Other than that though, amazing entry. Definitely one of my favourites from this Ludum Dare.

Ropedive by lootgrounds 2021-05-02T13:36:40Z

This was rather nice and fun. The difficulty was rather balanced well from start to finish ( I died in that 5th level a lot lol ). Graphics were nice and simple along with the audio. It was fun and rather challenging. I liked how the levels mixed up needing to jump and to dash to the opposite side. My only complaint is that I feel that there could of been a little more space between spikes or that the spikes in general could have been a little more forgiving. None the less, a rather nice entry

Tap Trick by Salman_Shh 2021-05-04T04:12:03Z

Simple in terms of gameplay, graphics and even sound but still so awesome. I loved the level design you had in place. Using one button was a little finnicky at first but it was cool and easy to get used to. I do wish there was a way to do a quick turn though ( maybe a double tap or something... ). Some levels did kinda feel like I got to the end by being lucky though lol. The game is still cool and is overflowing with juice. Loved the little animation which played while grinding a rail lol. Great job on this

Going Down in Fishstory by Jonas Tyroller 2021-05-02T04:02:28Z

A rather nice little adventure game. Kudos to all of you for the amount of work put into this. For what the game is and for what it was trying to be, I don't really have any complaints other than just a few nitpicks lol. Great job on this. Although I kinda wish the fish had animations. I know it's Blackthornprod's art style but some animations would have really helped. Either way though, Amazing presentation. While the actual story was nice, I felt that the ending was a little too abrupt. Voice acting was great though lol ( Even though one or two lines felt a little forced IMO XD ). Controlling the fish was very satisfying and responsive. Great entry

Juicy Trip by Anandhi 2021-04-28T02:16:39Z

Rather nice and fun game. I liked how things got faster as you played. It was a little hard to see the opening in the double rings at first. The graphics were nice as well. No problems with the game otherwise. Nice entry

BUGGED by Mr.developer 2021-04-27T11:13:31Z

Loved the minimalistic colour pallete here. Things were nice and readable. I also loved how there was an element of stealth in almost every level, making it really feel like I'm a parasite trying to infect this brain. Especially that last level, it made me feel like a real monster by picking off enemies one by one. The infecting mechanics were cool as well. Infecting a guy and shooting someone else never got old lol. However, I didn't like that you had to repeatedly infect an enemy to kill them. It felt a little unintuitive. I also felt that it was a little hard to tell the damage state of an enemy, especially when there was blood and body parts all over the level. Still, it's a really great game and I enjoyed it from start to end

Nav's Endless Nightmare by Zizhen96 2021-05-02T04:43:32Z

So this was a nice entry :). Loved the colour pallete you chose for this game. The animations and sprites were cool as well. It was a fun shooter and I liked that there was a counter to let me know when I could rush to the monster at the exit. Enemy variety was great as well and kept the combat interesting. I felt the deaths were a little cheap in some places though, the hitboxes for the stalactites (teeth ? lol) at the top could have been a little more forgiving. Same for the ones on the bottom. Some sort of indicator to know that they were about to fall would have been great. Still though, the game is really cool overall. Great job on this :)

TAILSPIN! by Saturnyoshi 2021-04-28T13:01:20Z

Wow, you made some really good mechanics and really made beautiful use of them in every level. The amount of content here and design of every level is insane. Kudos for all the work put into this. Loved how fluid the drill mechanics felt. However, things did get a little frustrating at times when you had to precise with aiming the drill. It's still an awesome entry though. Phenomenal job though

Red Archer by BadPiggy 2021-05-07T14:09:09Z

@kleinzach It's my fault for not saying it in the tutorial and as a result, a few other people have had this problem lol but you can stop a dash by going into slow-mo, dodge and then continue that dash

Here's a glimpse of the game right now and what I've added so far :

Red Atcher aim and kick enemy LD sized gif.gif

Not sure when the post jam version will be uploaded since I need to design new arenas as well and add atleast two new enemy types and also make some actual use of the new aim and kick move.

And of course, balance the slow-mo somehow lol. I've also taken into account that a lot of you found the game a lot more fun when you could get a few shots without slow-mo, so I've also slowed the enemies down a little, and added some aim assist. The bow is also a lot more responsive and faster now and the slight delay which was in the jam version is no longer present.

I'll be tweaking the game more for the post jam version. As of now, we'll see what happens ig lol. Thank you all for playing :)

Mianach by Dawnyan 2021-05-05T04:42:27Z

The minimalist art is awesome. Loved how you had invisible tutorials like how the smaller rocks block the projectiles of enemies and how you could get them to shoot at each other. This was really cool. Don't really have any complaints apart from the arrow keys being a little unresponsive at times. Either way, it's a nice simple game and nice entry.

DEEPER by eboatwright 2021-04-27T11:34:57Z

This was quite a fun game. Took me a little time to realise that the blocks kill you. Because you said Downwell I kept thinking that I could land on the blocks XD. Once I understood, this was quite a fun game. I kinda wish that you had some way of slowing down though since it kinda felt a little too fast. Still, this was a damn fun game

Fare Well by alanxoc3 2021-05-03T14:52:25Z

Honestly did not really find much wrong with this game. The graphics were simple, looked great and conveyed what they needed to. The mechanics in play were so good though. Having to jump off ballons and collect coins while dodging spike strips and even platforms as well depending on your current height was cool. I also liked how you could sort of adjust the basket and narrowly miss platforms or rocks falling. Wall sliding was also really helpful and cool lol. I kinda have mixed feelings about automatically jumping from the basket if there's something below it but it wasn't a deal breaker or anything. I felt like the player moved a little too fast in the air though, which meant I'd collide with spikes or rocks even though I was actually just trying to aim the basket. Still, this is a very fun game. Really good job on this one

Deep Breaths by Patsui 2021-05-03T17:39:53Z

Well this was probably the best interpretation of the theme so far lol. Good job on this. The pixel art was really great. Always a fan of billboarding. The colour pallete here was also really solid and pleasant to look at, good choice on that. The main game loop was cool but did get a little repetetive. Still, for what the game is, it's fun none the less. I suppose handling could be improved a little but otherwise, I don't really have any complaints. Really good job on this

Solar Subs by Simpathey 2021-04-27T01:50:13Z

High score is 36 so far. Really nice work. It got a little too hard to notice the subs further down but I guess that's the point lol. I kinda wish there was a penalty for clicking the fish. More fish which sort of look like subs and a shorter time limit would make things more urgent for sure. Still, a really nice game as is. Love the mood the graphics created

Corporate Mole by JoeDev 2021-04-29T06:14:12Z

Not too many games in the jam can combine humour and fun like what you did with this one. Really great job on that. Loved the old school styled stealth mechanics here. Very sly cooper-like. The aesthetic and 3 models were absolutely amazing. Again, reminded me of older platformer games. I honestly didn't find too much wrong with this, level design was great and the objectives were cool. I didn't like that it was a little unclear how far worms had to be for you to get caught. Some sort of indicator for them would help. Loved the slime which was formed when they moved across the floor to show what path they were taking. Really good job on this.

Underneath by HumanIsRed 2021-04-30T09:09:30Z

Really great use of mechanics. I love the simplicity of it all and the art was fantastic. The levels were beautifully designed and I'm surprised you guys were able to make this number of them. Things did get a little frustrating later on though ( Especially the levels where your bullets reflect lol ), every level never felt impossible though which is a good balance. Wall sliding was also extremely helpful lol. Really great job on this

Deeper Devils by 3amsoda 2021-05-15T08:19:54Z

LUDUMDARE48LETSGO 15-05-2021 13_38_58.png

So this was fun lol. I liked the mechanics in play here. I thought it would be like downwell where you'd more or less just be moving down and maybe just stomping the occasional enemy, but this was more puzzle-like and that's always a good thing. Loved the design of each level and how you had to combine shooting to aim yourself, landing on an enemy and sliding along the walls. Made things very strategic and very satisfying. The art was nice and goofy as well lol. No qualms there. All the game needs is some quality of life improvements here and there and it would be even better. Maybe just lower the speed at which most of the red traps move (the spinners were real killers, along with those red platforms which had a small hole lol) so that it's a little more easier to aim yourself. Also maybe make the player's hitbox smaller so that it's a little easier to pass through holes or tight spaces cus it's honestly a little frustrating when you think you should be able to fit in a gap but you don't. None the less, the game was designed well and was fun. Heck, I saw your LD page, is this your first LD ? Serious kudos to you on this entry if it's your first but good job either way

PogoFall by Taek 2021-04-27T17:42:00Z

Probably one of the best platformers I've ever played lol. That last level is really hard, haven't beaten it yet. Still though, love the mechanics in play here. Great job on this entry

Moth extraction by rhys_vdw 2021-05-03T04:51:53Z

Well this was weird lol. Nice entry either way. I got the moth out after a lot of failed attempts and after raging and just pushing it inside the ear a few times lol. Creative use of the theme and a great entry. Nothing more to say other than that it can be a little annoying, but that's mostly just a byproduct of the design of the game

LD49 — Unstable

Dogs++ by Jezzamon 2021-10-06T10:39:25Z

Only thing this game is missing is the ability to pet the dog lol

Seriously though, awesome mechanic. Puzzles weren't frustrating at all and were very fun ( even if the tower of pups in the last one took a while lol ). Visuals are hella cute and so was the music. Cool usage of theme as well. Selecting which dog would jump of the tower was very cool as well. I don't really have any complaints tbh. Maybe using a mechanic in one level and then being told about in the next level seemed a little annoying but that's just a nitpick at best. This is an awesome entry, especially for compo. Great job on this

Birdbird's Life Balancing Agency by Togimaro 2021-10-05T04:19:44Z

Amazing game. Simple premise and mechanics but so much damn fun. Loved the simple visuals as well. Especially Birdbird himself. Don't really have qualms with this. Birdbird might just be a bird but he also make good game

gunstable by torcado 2021-10-06T06:07:58Z

The weapon types were cool and having them switch every time you attacked created a nice layer of strategy and improvisation on the fly. The character designs were also cool though I felt that the background was very out of place and was inconsistent visually. The core concept is nice though and the gameplay is fun so it's still a rather nice entry.

heat wave by gentoogames 2021-10-06T05:40:51Z

I lasted with a max of 333 villagers. Rather nice game but I'm still not entirely sure how to really play it. I get that you have to balance everything and also keep track of the fuel you have but I feel like there's something about the game which I'm missing about how to play it. Still, the visual and audio design was awesome, loved the entire setup and premise. A great entry overall

Burning Ravager by sinclairstrange 2021-10-05T13:59:48Z

Phenomenal game for the time constraints. Polished to a sheen and with a lot of content which is actually fun and very worthwhile. Haven't finished it completely yet but it's because I want to take my time with it. The theme of unstability is actually represented well with the overheat mechanic. Keeps every enemy encounter tense as well since it increases with damage and makes you strategise with regards to the equipment you should use at that moment. The graphics and art are amazing and definitely bring older NES games to mind which is what you were going for anyway so great job on that.

I did not really like how slow the camera transitions between areas though. I realise it was the case for some older games but it could be faster here for a slight quality of life improvement. Same goes for enemies spawning the second I re-enter an area. Maybe re-spawn them after a few minutes.

All in all though, nothing really wrong with this game. It does it what it does very well. Amazing work

SEXY BOOBY 95 by silkworm_sweatshop 2021-10-09T10:32:28Z

Don't really have any complaints. Rather nice and funny adventure game lol. I'll probably play SurFree more though lol. Loved how pretty much every program shown on the computer came together in some way. Sound effects were also cool and the game as a whole great. Awesome entry

II-III-V by miziziziz 2021-10-08T13:05:34Z

Great entry. Nice and atmospheric and with nice movement mechanics. The writing in those letters was actually nice and the general mood was cool. The visuals were great, good choice of colour pallete and the sound design is really good. I felt damage could have been represented a little differently because it was a little too hard to tell whether I was actually close to death or not since the shade of red doesn't change too much after a certain point. Still, the general mood was great and the game as a whole was cool

That ending seemed a little unnecessary though lol

Buggy Bot by ursagames 2021-10-05T02:42:20Z

A very good platformer. Got till the end as well with 7 bugs left in the system. The bot felt great to control and the platforming was fun. The fans were a little tricky but everything still felt doable even though I died mostly cus of them. Not a fan of how the camera was locked though. Everything looked great as well and ran really smooth. The visuals as a whole were cohesive. The level design was tight and great and the checkpoints were many and really helped the pacing of the game, ensuring I wasn't stuck for too long. The sound effects were also very oddly satisfying lol, especially those bees. Don't really have an qualms other than camera lock and that the fans were a little hard at first. Great job overall.

Teeter Hero by Strega 2021-10-06T18:36:48Z

Awesome idea here. Definitely fits the theme well and is a fun beat-em-up. The graphics are great and hits are communicated well. The different enemy types are nice as well and force you to move a lot along with having to balance the bus. My only complaint is that it's hard to tell the actual position of the bus on the mountain top. Still though, awesome entry

Interstellar Highway Robbery by Corny 2021-10-05T03:24:19Z

Absolutely loved this. Will definitely be playing it more as well. My only qualm is that I wished there was a map for when you entered a new ship. I also encountered a bug where I ended up in one of the orange crates.Still though, a fast paced and fun arcade game. All it really needs is a map for the new ship you enter and maybe a few more enemy types and you have a really good game on your hands. Solid entry

Karawan by Rongo Matane 2021-10-08T17:48:43Z

Got to the portal on my first attempt lol. Great game and idea. Amazing art and that music just sets the mood beautifully as well. You do need to be able to see a little further ahead to actually plan well, but either way, it's a really great game and idea in it's current form and I'll probably be playing it more. Loved that you could reverse your caravan if you're stuck.

Mystic Push by TheSomeoneXD 2021-10-05T13:22:29Z

I couldn't do the last puzzle lol. Amazing work on this none the less. Feels polished all around for what it is. Puzzle design was phenomenal as well. The pixel art is amazing but at the same time it also kinda hinders the game. The perspective can make it hard to see certain tiles behind walls or behind the pillars. Maybe just reducing the height of the walls from 2 tiles to 1 would fix that. Still, an awesome entry all around

RAGE HORSE by SlickRamen 2021-10-08T13:23:32Z

A nice base for a game. Loved the pixel art here and the sound effects. The stealth system was a little rudimentary but for what this game is, it's definitely polished and damn nice that you were able to do it within the constraints of the jam.

It Crumbles by VivianMochi 2021-10-09T15:55:36Z

An awesome idea. Don't think I have ever really seen this done before and it is quite fun to boot. Unfortunately due to randomisation it can be very frustrating as well. Having minimal control over the player when they're on grey tiles basically means that you're most likely going to die since you don't know what's present along your path of motion. Still, launching myself with a bomb was always fun. The visuals and audio were cool as well. There are a nice variety of enemy types which really make you move a lot. Really nice entry.

Hazmat Magic by Ismael Rodriguez 2021-10-05T10:35:42Z

Got till the end, that mega explosion from mixing green and blue was cool lol. The puzzles were cool and had a great usage of the mechanics on offer from the game. the second last puzzle seemed like it required too much of a precision shot for what you can do in the game. Still a cool puzzle though. The sound was nice and calming. The visuals seemed a little too plain tbh. Not too much was really striking from them. None the less, this is a solid entry. Great job

Brittle Buildings by J.Broccoli 2021-10-07T16:35:19Z

Cool idea. The 1-bit visuals were great and so were the character designs. The player's reload was cool and the sound effect made it damn satisfying lol. However, the game really needed some tutorials. It did take some experimentation to realise how the blocks actually worked together but it was very frustrating in the beginning as a result. I also wish there was a separate button to exit the shop because I accidentally left it a few times. None the less, it was a cool entry and cool concept. I was able to last for 6 waves

🕷💩Poopy Parker💩🕷 by TheJunt 2021-10-19T15:38:35Z

Well this was different lol. Loved how the mechanic was implemented. You could basically go about levels however you wished. I actually replayed the game a few times as a result and tried pulling the bad guys off the rooftops and also pulling them into me to Yeet them. The physics were a little too unstable some times and I ended up Yeeting myself really hard even though I was grabbing the walls, beams or the birds. Sometimes while trying to shoot poop it didn't really latch onto what was targeted leading to some annoying situations. Though physics based games like this generally lend themselves to situations like that. The graphics were awesome and the audio was perfect for this. No complaints there. It's a nice and fun physics puzzle game with probably the best theme ever.

In short, it's the real shit. Amazing job on this

Help, I cast the wrong spell! by JUSTCAMH 2021-10-08T08:10:10Z

Amazing entry from you as always. I reached the second edition book and I love this, but I'm kinda divided on it though. On one hand, I think it's a very good mechanic ( especially the second half when the dynamite comes out the other way and lends itself to allowing you to ride on the explosions ) and has been used to it's full potential, but on the other hand, it's a little too frustrating in parts. It was very confusing sometimes as to whether an explosion would kill me or let me rocket-jump ( explosion-jump ? lol ). And the nature of the dynamite meant that they would sometimes end up in places which would just kill me outright even if I did find myself doing the level correctly. As a result I kinda won some levels out of pure luck. When everything clicked though, this was amazing and very well-designed. The explosion effects were damn cool and the music sounded quite funny tbh considering the situation of the wizard. In fact, this game as a whole is damn funny ( Especially that ending ). Why'd you opt out of humour ? lol. None the less, great work on this. It's an awesome entry

WOLFGUN by sodaraptor 2021-10-10T06:45:04Z

Awesome visual design and aesthetics. The art for the wolf in the lower right corner was sick. The shooting is nice and crunchy as well. The arena is nicely designed and has a nice amount of pathways though I kinda wish you could jump over that one step next to the upper door. I originally did wish that you could hold mouse click to shoot instead of clicking and the powerup showed up in the shop at the right time lol. Speaking of which, the game was a little easy and it was only after getting more upgrades like the multiple bullets and using the other upgrades to increase the spawn rates of enemies that it got harder. I guess it's nice this way that players can choose their own difficulty, though I wish that the number of enemies you had to kill in a single wave for later waves was increased. I felt a little cheated after killing only a few enemies for later waves lol. The game does need more enemy types but the type which is here looks cool. The rage mode is brutal and does fit the theme since you have to be a little careful where you really trigger it though it really matters only in later waves. Especially when you have the one-hit upgrade lol. All in all it's a cool entry in a cool setting. Really great and really fun in it's current form.

Volatile Defender by azagaya 2021-10-05T15:38:12Z

Awesome work on this. The mechanics in play are tight and the gameplay as a whole is damn fun. Having to strategise on the fly due to the various enemy types and due to their positions makes things damn tense and exciting. And of course the use of powerups and needing to move towards them as well. Everything from a mechanics perspective is cool from the shooting to using those powerups in different ways.

My only complaint though is that the movement speed seems a little too slow for the type of pace that the game wants to set for itself. Other than that though, cool and fun arcade game. My highest so far is roughly 600 and I'll definitely try for more

Silly Skateboarding by Richard08 2021-10-09T17:52:53Z

Really crazy and fun lol. I love 1-button games and this was really cool. I kinda wish I had a little more control over the skateboard though. Maybe a single tap changes direction and holding the button makes you move in a direction. The current setup is nice and simplistic but does lead to be in situations which are a little too hard to control. I also thought that the gap which I could move down through for the bottom floor could have been made a little bigger because at first glance I thought the player would not be able to fit through it. Still though, this a damn fun arcade game. Loved the fact that the player's face got more worried the more unstable things became. Great work on this.

Quantum Qitty by Mr.developer 2021-10-05T04:33:05Z

A hard as nails game which is extremely polished. Amazing job on this. The last level almost had me in tears though lol. Mostly cus I'm bad at these types of games. Still, great mechanic ensuring you can't just sit in place and have to move constantly, else you get hit one of those balls. Awesome and well-detailed visuals as well. A great entry all around

Wiggle Bird by SamDemaine 2021-10-09T10:52:09Z

Cool concept and execution. The level design here was really cool as well. Last level did take a while but every level was still fun to play through. I also liked how you could essentially play the game with only one of the two direction keys. Gave it more depth that way as well. Great visuals and SFX. A nice entry overall

STAR STRUGGLE by 730 2021-10-08T11:11:35Z

This is a neat concept which is nice but feels a little too unforgiving. I feel like the overheat meter should just increase when you shoot bullets and not when you're locked as well. A little more control over the ship would have been nice as well though. Still, nice idea and a decent entry.

Hammer Keep by BadPiggy 2021-10-07T04:14:31Z

@ismael-rodriguez you can actually cancel dodges with an attack. I ensured you couldn't cancel attacks with dodges cus then it becomes way too easy and it looks a bit weird lol. Thanks for playing none the less

I want to thank all of you for playing Hammer Keep and for providing feedback :). Some of you played it on stream as well and it was a joy to watch. Most of you had trouble with the tutorial being boring and I apologise for that lol. Wasn't sure at the time during the development period how I'd make a good tutorial with this mechanic.

Either way though, I do want to do something with this post-jam but time will tell what becomes of it and if I even do anything with it lol.

If you would like to see anything I come up with, let it be this game or anything else...

I've fixed a few issues like the enemies not slashing if they're in contact with a wall. I've also made some updates to the game, chief among them being a more dynamic camera. I actually wanted this in the jam version but couldn't get a decent implementation of what I wanted in time. You can still turn it off if you wish and have the camera back to the old static system though.

Hammer-Keep-Ghost-LD-page.gif

I've also made a few new enemy types, two of which are more like mini-bosses. Here are some snippets of them...

Like I said, not sure as yet what will become of this game, but it was fun to make. Thank you all again for playing :)

The Lesser Evil by Jon Topielski 2021-10-07T16:53:15Z

The idea for this is so twisted that it actually works lol. I'm not entirely on-board with some of the curses though. Too much screenshake or a different palette may not really work for some people's vision, the rest work wonderfully though lol. The visuals were awesome and the SFX were really crunchy. Don't really have any complaints other than some curses being a little too much for some people. The game has a nice variety of enemy types, it really is a different experience every time you play and it's damn fun overall to try and overcome the game's challenge. I was able to beat the boss on the normal difficulty with 9 deaths and I'll definitely come back to this to try the harder difficulties. Phenomenal work on this.

Everything's Fine by Patsui 2021-10-10T05:24:42Z

Really nice game. Loved the aesthetics and audio. I loved how everything about the game including the mechanics were pretty much instantly recognisable as soon as I played and the tutorial wasn't really necessary. I was able to keep the reactor from exploding as well. Don't really have any qualms other than a few small nitpicks. I wish the bars for the stations were always active. Also the workers ended up getting stuck to each other for a few seconds when they were moving between the stations and the lounge. Along with that it was a little confusing as to which button corresponded to the middle and end stations when things got hectic. Maybe a number for each station and a number on each button would solve that. A little indicator for when a worker is about to have a breakdown would work as well. Either way though, these are all honestly just nitpicks. All in all this was a well made entry, great job on it. Good luck with Fashion police squad as well

Helico Pter by 3LSTMsInATrenchcoat 2021-10-09T10:20:52Z

Great entry here. It's nice and simple and has a good sense of mastery about it. The level designs you incorporated were really cool as well. Especially the ship and the crane lol. The final part with the lava seemed a little too unforgiving but it is the final section after all lol. To make things a little better, maybe just tweak the hit box for the body of the helicopter besides its underpart and make it a little smaller. Along with that, increasing the minimum velocity you need to be at in order to land safely would make things more better as well and prevent too much frustration. Still, cool and nicely designed entry

Tower of unlife by bigassopper 2021-10-09T17:35:37Z

Made it till the sixth floor in the second part of the tower and got killed by sawblades. This is a unique type of platformer tbh. Most of the time when you play platformers now, you basically try and speedrun it but this game demands a very patient playstyle for it. You need to watch the rotation of the tower before even moving. Loved how the rotation of the tower even helped in platforming and that you had to wait for the tower to be rotated in a certain direction for you to be able to platform properly. I do wish there were more of the type of checkpoints where you spawn even after losing all your lives because it was getting a little frustrating having to redo the entire first section of the tower. It did give me a bit more of a sense of mastery over the method of platforming the game required, even though it was rather frustrating. Visuals were great as well. Awesome entry and very unique take on the theme. I'm definitely coming back to this

Falling Tower by Simpathey 2021-10-05T05:51:05Z

Was able to enure only 4 blocks touched the ground while building but it collapsed at 7.62 seconds lol. Great game. Was particularly cool how you could pretty much join a block to any other block making the building as tight as possible. Don't really have any qualms with this, I don't think it really needs more than one type of block as well. It's really cool as is with these two types. Great and simple entry

Unstable Magic by DrSmey 2021-10-09T10:17:41Z

Nice idea for a mechanic and good visuals and audio. I felt that the game would have benefited from having a little more control over your aiming though. If the wand turned a little slower it would have been a little better. Still, good entry

Potion Commotion by Frozendoze 2021-10-05T17:42:21Z

Tough game lol. Very fun none the less, loved how the mechanic could be used in ways making most of the puzzles very non-linear. The actual jump was a little unwieldy sometimes but it always felt beatable. Great visuals and audio as well. Great job on this

ROBOKILL by E.E-Wick 2021-10-05T07:28:44Z

This was really cool man. You've nailed the presentation. Made me feel like an absolute monster through and through. Love the simple nuances to the presentation as well like how everyone is much shorter than you, the wobble in the camera and the arms, the look of fear in the characters. The bullets from the police were a little hard to see though. Having to be strategic and throw heads at them was cool though and kept it from being mindless. Not a fan of some of the doors basically being camouflaged with the walls though. Caused a few annoying deaths. Regardless, a really fun entry overall. I love power fantasies and this was a good one

Boat History by etrealjunior 2021-10-14T18:03:19Z

Amazing mechanic and a very creative take on the theme. Leads to some very precarious positions but the game still feels doable despite having a steep difficulty curve and a high skill ceiling. The fluid mechanics themselves were nothing short of awesome. Loved how the boat flows and moves on the water. The water itself was awesome to look at. Reminded me a lot of lava lamps. However, it did lead to a lot of situations where the boat ended up being rather hard to control. Those sawblades are killer lol. Great idea and execution, just a little hard as a by-product of the main mechanic

TECHNUCLEAR by TheGreenWorm 2021-10-08T13:58:24Z

Awesome mechanics and audio. Visuals were nice and simple and the ball flying around was very satisfying. The walls being dangerous at times was a nice touch. There was a good amount of variety in the levels as well for the type of mechanics in play. That second ball was cool as well. My only complaint is that the very nature of the mechanic ends up being a little random at times and hard to really tell where it will go. The boss at the end as cool though. Great job on this overall, was a damn nice collection of mechanics which were executed very well.

Restable by zPikA 2021-10-11T17:19:36Z

Really cool entry. Loved the pixel art, especially the pigs ( I'm biased lol ). The animations were really detailed and every animal was just damn cute to look at. The main aim of the game was cool and did fit the theme but it was a little janky though. I kinda wished it was something like you hold on to the animales for a given period of time or something like that. Pushing them was fine but seemed a little too hard to get a good grip on them at times. The dog was a cool factor to watch out for. I'm still not sure what exactly the win condition was though. I ended up just pushing whatever animal was around me into the barn. A little more of a hint as to what exactly the win condition for a certain level is would make things a little more tight, though what I assumed later into the game was that you had to push atleast one of every animal type present into the barn. You already have animals with different behaviors and movements (i.e the horses being a little sporadic, chickens coming at you when you have eggs etc.). Having different combinations of them alone without the other types would maybe lead to some cool puzzles. The ostrich was not really much of a threat. I feel like it should have spawned a little more, though it's audio cue was nice. Either way though, the game is still fun and the visuals and audio are very cool. Speaking of which, the music for when you win is utterly glorious lol. Great entry

False Angel by Jonah_SRG 2021-10-05T06:28:19Z

Visuals are awesome and the soundtrack is amazing as well, except the second part is just too hard and unforgiving lol. I think if the ship did not do a divebomb when you mess up the button prompt it would have been a lot more manageable. In it's current form it's a little too hard since you have to keep track of the birds, the current position of the ship and which button you need to press. A decent entry though

Cytoplasm Madness by dagon 2021-10-09T13:15:58Z

Great graphics and setting. Loved how the arena actually looked like a micro-organism. The visual style and art are all great. Loved the SFX and the music as well. Mechanically though, I felt like the game really needed more. I understand that your health dwindles away as time passes and the little guys give you back ammo, but it sometimes caused unwinnable situations. This happens a lot with the boss when he's invulnerable and the turrets shoot at you and since you can't really do anything other than dodge, you basically die unless you have enough health. A way to regain health would have worked well with the game. Some sort of mechanic which made use of the little guys as well besides affecting the rate at which your ammo replenished would have also been really helpful. Either way though, what's here is definitely fun. Good job on this entry none the less

Bugsy's Barbershop by Cosmonautical 2021-10-07T09:24:46Z

This is so weird and fun lol. Won't lie that rotating my tools and snipping or shaving away was just damn fun. Especially when trying to get clean cuts. Loved the art and the voice acting especially lol. Great stuff all around. I need to get more accurate with my cuts though. Only 1 bug was happy lol.

Kattonauten by Elastic 2021-10-05T08:42:29Z

This was really cool for what it is. I was able to blaze past the game till the second checkpoint, unfortunately once I got to the point where I had to drop onto a bomb like in the gif you have on this page, the rocket would just never take off from it. Along with that I got stuck in the wall at that point and could not continue. It's still a great concept and idea which has been executed well

CONTROLL by kartiz0l 2021-10-06T18:08:09Z

Cool game and idea though I feel it's a little too random. It's hard to really strategise and plan and use the moves you have when they occur randomly. If the next move after the one shown on the face of the robot was displayed as well in the UI, it would have made things a little easier. Regardless though, presentation and the visuals was slick. Love the minimal pallete and it was easy to tell things at first glance like the cubes which could be shot. A good entry none the less

LD50 — Delay the inevitable

Legacy Survivors by quill18 2022-04-05T09:02:09Z

It's a rather nice take on vampire survivors. The leveling up system was well implemented and the enemy designs are cool. I'm not very fond of the walls in place and I also feel like bombs spawn way too close to you. Still, it's a good and fun entry

Shotgun King: the Final Checkmate by benjamin 2022-04-06T02:49:58Z

Phenomenal game from you guys as always with your signature style as well. Especially love that bit of slow-mo in the end when you get mated along with highlighting the piece that gets you. I'm still not entirely sure how the rules work though. Especially about when an enemy piece is going to move or not. Still, there are a lot of good indicators here and the fact that moving reloads your shotgun always means you have to move. Not entirely sure how I feel about needing to move elsewhere to collect ammo since in later levels, more stronger pieces replace others and so it seems way too risky to even try moving too much. Making use of the pieces powers by the black king is an awesome idea as well. Also, I don't think I would have known that clicking a few times would force an illegal move if I hadn't seen someone else mention it here lol. Never the less, amazing game from you guys as always. I got till floor 5 so far lol

Edit : I noticed a few more things which makes most of my grievances moot points lol.

Flooded Caves by nusan 2022-04-06T12:37:04Z

Played on normal for now. Managed to save 9 people with 1 person dying. Great game all around with fantastic fluid simulation physics. Don't really have any complaints, other than that I couldn't really see the civilians until the first chance came to save 1 of them. Still, it's a damn good entry

Warming up! by notnasiul 2022-04-05T03:24:12Z

Loved this. Having to choose between whether a structure is worth flattening or leaving it for now and going to another was great. The controls felt nice and responsive and the game as a whole was fun to play. My high score is 120 so far but I'll probably be playing this more. Don't really have any complaints here. The game was well balanced and fun to play

Earworm Jam by ursagames 2022-04-10T05:30:11Z

Loved this lol. I only wish there was more of an indicator for the actual distance between you and the worm. Still, alternating between sprinting and normal running and jumping is great. And the music ( oh gawd the music ) is damn good lol. I honestly couldn't help laughing at all the absurdity in this game lol. Especially the worms who were singing what I thought was the final countdown lol. Awesome entry all around

LudumDare50 09-04-2022 09_09_34.png

Easily one of the most creative and imaginative games of the jam. Loved how well balanced the timers were. Nothing felt unfair in that regard. Art was simple enough and kept everything distinct. Sound was great and the music was an absolute bop. Humour was on point throughout the game which is usually very hard to do lol. I have a few qualms though...

The particle effect for when a shot landed seemed like there was a little too much going on, and so sometimes I couldn't really tell if I hit a dinosaur or not.

(SPOILERS) The level in the third day really needed some semblance of directions or something since it's a bit of an abrupt step up from the last two days. Only saying this because I got lost quite a bit lost and didn't really learn the layout of the level because of time lol. The bones of the humans might have been a little too small as well since I did miss a few lol, though that might just be me and be a nitpick.

None the less, amazing entry here.

Soak 'Em Out by Cruise Elroy 2022-04-05T03:11:56Z

Really great little game. The art and audio were sublime. The droplets and the car were very well indicated as well. My only complaint is that it can be a little unfair when the car comes right when a droplet is falling. Or maybe there's more strategy to it. Either way though, I'm definitely coming back to this game. Great job

Chicken Dinner by Brusi 2022-04-06T13:10:34Z

Great little arcade game. I wasn't too sure why excatly my chicken slowed down a bit ( stamina maybe ? ) and I thought the dust clouds under his legs meant that the farmer was interested in him. I liked that there weren't any indicators to show who the farmer was chasing though ( maybe the dust clouds were the indicator, but I'm still not sure ). This actually kept a nice amount of tension in the game ( kinda made it a horror game in a few ways when the tension got a little high lol ). Cool little arcade entry

THERE IS A FIRE HERE by yellow 2022-04-05T12:46:13Z

Surprisingly addictive and fun arcade game. I'm definitely coming back to this more lol. Loved how you really have to factor in whether you should carry the fire with you to a tree, or whether it's better to just go back and forth. And of course there's also the rain spawning in which raises those questions even more. This was a damn good game loop. The art and audio as well are minimal in all the right ways and are damn cool. The only thing holding this game back is that the grab detection can be a little wonky. It was also the prime reason sometimes why my fire died lol. This is especially the case when your fire is right next to a tree. Other than that though, this is an awesome entry

Different Strokes by Scott Steffes 2022-04-09T08:45:35Z

Absolutely magical. Zero complaints.

Though maybe some minor nitpicks. Some kind of cursor symbol or indicator for how big the paint brush will actually be would be helpful. And sometimes the ghost's dialogue can cover up a painting, though either way, this really is one of my favs this jam. The way the museum even opens up as you keep moving in it, absolutely amazing.

Some of my uploads so far not counting art which I added to lol

Chess at the End of Time by JUSTCAMH 2022-04-05T13:21:36Z

I managed to get the furthest with the green empire lol. I died instantly with the red empire and made it two times with the blue. Love the way you're telling small stories through different runs. I also loved how you were actually able to give feelings loss in the game. Like leaving behind chess pieces who couldn't cross to the end, or if a piece got taken by the darkness.Don't really have any qualms, other than that there felt like there were some rather sharp difficulty spikes in between. Still though, a quality entry from you as always. I'ma play more to see if I can get some different endings

The Last Savior by JustusPan 2022-04-07T06:05:21Z

Great little game. The fact that you had to use different attacks for different enemies as well was a nice touch and added some chaos to the mix as well when enemy types got mixed together. Loved how they were colour coded as well to denote which enemies can be killed by which attack. I do wish the range of the weapons was a little larger since it was really easy to collide with enemies while trying to land a hit. I made it uptil the 1oth wave and killed around 400-ish enemies. Nice job on this entry.

Click to Continue by Daniel Foutz 2022-04-07T15:49:08Z

ngl, I listened to that ending song for a long time hoping there was something after it. If there is then I will happily play the game again because I honestly didn't want it to end lol. Phenomenal game, gets a little dark lol, but it's just a game jam game. The writing and everything about this game really is absolutely spot on. This isn't an issue or anything, though the shift to the dark tone was kinda abrupt and didn't have any build up tbh. I guess this way it had the impact that it did, though it really did feel a little too sudden. None the less, I won't deny that I was hooked from the very first button press till what I assume is the end with the song. Absolutely amazing VA. Can't praise it enough tbh.

P.S I also remember one of your older games from Wowie jam lol

Reversary by AploveStudio 2022-04-06T17:49:13Z

Amazing concept. Reminds me of Hades in all the right ways lol. The writing could have been better in a few lines, though that's just a nitpick since the overall strength of the writing of the characters is great. I loved how you really nailed the feel of the boss, how his attacks had some delay between them and the weight of all his actions. Also loved the fact that you have different phases lol. Another cool thing was how the camera was actually centered around the player. Really emphasising how you're the boss. And of course, the art and audio are fitting and great ( SPOLIER : Loved how the colour of the words being said was different to reflect which character is speaking at certain times ). A phenomenal entry and probably one of the best of the jam. Amazing work on this. I honestly have no complaints

Mr. Final Boss by Oroshibu 2022-04-07T17:39:03Z

Great concept and art. The visuals as a whole were fantastic. Love how you guys did 2.5D. However, it did also hinder the game quite a bit. One main problem I had was actually judging distance between me and the players. This also made abilities like the axe kinda frustrating to use. The player AI is fine, seems like how a player would play a soulslike anyway lol. The quotes from the players were nice as well. I managed to get to the 3rd wizard. Nice entry

lose95 by Sulo 2022-04-05T10:08:22Z

Phenomenal entry. Loved everything about it, especially that folder structure on the side. I do kinda wish it showed all of the branches of a given node instead of just the branch you click on, because sometimes I forgot which folders still had unexplored branches. Still though, awesome mechanics in use here. Took me a minute to realise that the mouse cursor was what was taking damage. I'm still not entirely sure how to avoid damage from some files, but maybe a little practice is all that's needed there. This was amazing all around. I'm definitely playing this one more

Carpe Diem by Pomo 2022-04-05T14:37:56Z

Was able to make it to high noon lol. Nice game, though it does have some issues. My main issue was honestly not being sure where exactly I'd end up after a jump. Also, there was a physics bug where I ended up getting shot upwards after hitting one of the platforms which was sort of tilted to the one I was on. The general aesthetic and music are great as well. Nice entry

Highrail to hell by BadPiggy 2022-04-05T06:04:47Z

@bo-dangles appologies. The game was only supposed to support arrow keys for movement lol. I forgot to remove wasd support. I would have added controls to the right side of the keyboard as well, just that it usually confuses some people about the control layout when I actually do it lol

Seeing as though the jam ends in a few hours, thought I'd write a small thank you message.

Thank you all for playing Highrail to hell. I apologise for the difficulty that some of you faced. I probably should have balanced the game better and made a better tutorial section which explained the objective system better since that was one of everyone's main gripes. I'm polishing a post jam version to fix some issues. This includes the door level where I've reduced the amount of health on the door a little and have also made some teaks which mostly fixes the game speed issue. Not too sure when I'll release it though.

Either way though, thank you all for playing :). Some of you even played on stream and it was an absolute joy to watch.

Shot Clock by Nathan Wiles 2022-04-05T02:45:57Z

Lol, this was great. The physics felt balanced and the overall feel of the game was honestly just right. You have to be a little quick to decide whether you should dunk or whether you really should throw the ball. I think the best skill to practice in this game is actually retrieving the ball when it bounces back. Especially loved how you could see the next hoop to shoot from. Helps you plan well in advance. If I had any complaint, it would be that I wasn't completely sure of the angle the ball was going to go when I held W. None the less, it's a great and polished entry.

Hearts Ablaze by Jon Topielski 2022-04-06T03:23:31Z

Great game here. Loved the visuals and the audio. My main gripe though is that I really feel that all enemies should spawn health pickups on death. It was rather frustrating going into the next level with little to no health, and very little chances of replenishing it. Apart from that, it's a good entry none the less

Rage Against The Cocoon by JoeDev 2022-04-06T14:12:23Z

Yo, cool game. I got till the third area, but became a butterfly then lol. I also played with a keyboard and mouse and not with a controller since I don't own one. The art is great overall and the catterpillar is really well animated. I did have a bug ( pun intended ) pop up where only the last segment of the catterpillar was crawling while the top and the remainder of the catterpillar was sort of upright. Along with that, whenever I tried turning, I could see each individual segment of the catterpillar separate and turn lol. Not a problem tbh since you said that the game doesn't really support keyboard and mouse that well, though it did kinda hinder me a bit lol. Apart from that, when the catterpillar was working as it should, it looked just like a catterpillar with some incredible animations and was an absolute joy to control. Great job on this entry overall

NOT YET by TheGreenWorm 2022-04-05T04:04:51Z

This was awesome. Loved the boss designs and their movesets. All of their attacks were indicated very well and made use full use of your actions. It was not immediately apparent that I could deflect projectiles using my cane, though the fact that the pills of the second boss track you is definitely an indicator. I also felt that the timing for the second boss felt a little off, and that his syringe attack could have used more indication. Have no problems with the first and third boss though. Both had beautiful and large indicators for their attacks, all of which were fun to avoid. ( Although I did feel like the timing of the skulls of the third boss were a little unfair at times, though maybe that's just me ). The art and audio for every encounter was incredible. Great job on this game overall. Ending was nice lol.

Captain Starforce by extar 2022-04-05T08:34:41Z

Awesome entry you have here. Personally I thought everything was detailed enough for me to know what was around me ( the different sizes of asteroids, astronauts, ships etc. ). The colour pallete was well utilised and the sprite work was great. Gameplay here was nice, although I wish the ship's max speed was a little lesser. The only complaints I have with the game have been raised by others before, especially just some sort of indicator for the location of the base. Great job overall on this entry

You Are A Bomb by Benjamin Halko 2022-04-10T06:09:31Z

Loved this. Felt like a really tight arcade game. the visuals were great and kept things really clean. The gameplay was fun and addictive. I don't really have any complaints here, it was a fun little game.

ENDURACE - Drift Or Die by Phillip Scott 2022-04-09T06:00:16Z

Seeing the cars crashing and stacking onto each other during a race is a sight to behold lol. Love the explosion effects as well. Love the sound effects as well, the cars crashing into each other sounded like plastic toy cars lol. The handling is fine though I don't really like that the car can also rotate vertically in the air. I get that it's physics based, though this seems very unnecessary. I also didn't really like that there isn't too much of an indicator for whether cars took damage or not. I ended up dying once right after jumping off a ramp. The only reason I knew that I died because of it was because another car had blown up a little before it by jumping off a ramp. Still, the game looks good and is fun during the lap race.

Wormageddon by MatterLinx 2022-04-06T10:11:14Z

Absolutely amazing entry here. The way you guys did 2.5D is superb. Loved every moment of this. Most of the attacks are telegraphed beautifully, and the time to react is just the right amount. Great boss and arena design. My prime gripe is with some attacks that are not telegraphed well

- The attack where the worm shoots slime all over the arena : -> The problem here is that the shadows for the slimes are a little too faint and a little too small. And once they do become a little dark, they're pretty much as dark as the player's shadow and so I can't really tell if I'm in a safe area or not. Maybe this was intentional, but this is the prime reason why I took any damage in the first two fights. Every other attack in the first two phases have been telegraphed very well.

- ( SPOILER ) the attack in the third arena where the worm's tail comes up : -> A similiar situation to the slime attack. If I hadn't jumped, I don't think I would have noticed this attack. This move is actually telegraphed in advance, except I wouldn't have thought that the worm's tail would come up. It might have been only me, but I definitely found this attack annoying

Other than that though, this is definitely a phenomenal submission. Amazing work to you guys

Wiggle Arms Space Force by SirMilkman 2022-04-10T03:41:35Z

Ayo, this is a damn cool game. The art is fantastic and the wiggliness and squishiness of the player's arm is too cool lol. I like how you made use of the grab mechanics as well, in that you have to grab enemies and put them into the machine when they're dead so that you get more guns. And you have to be a little careful while shooting so that they're corpses are still on the platform. Love the little indicator as well for when they're too close to the machine. Also cool how one of the weapons actually turns around when you fire it, so you have to turn it yourself. There's honestly just a lot to like about this game, the art is great as well and is nice and chunky. I'm definitely coming back to this to play it more

BOX IN OX by Jonah_SRG 2022-04-08T17:18:42Z

Really great concept you have here. My high score was 20. Died with like 18 seconds left lol. This is actually a great twist on tetris with something else providing urgency besides just trying to match blocks before you reach the top. This may not really be an issue, but sometimes I was pressing down and the piece didn't move. I realised that this was because it was an illegal move, but maybe some sort of sound or visual indicator to show that you can't lower the piece depending on what's below you would be cool. Apart from that though, this is a very cool and unique twist on tetris. The art was great and the music and sfx present were honestly damn catchy. Amazing entry

It's time to die by ScootalooZamyslona 2022-04-07T05:51:27Z

Loved the colour pallete and how effective it was. It was a cool idea to have your life be time and have that also act as currency. Unfortunately though, the rate of fire of your weapon really made this very frustrating. Adding to that was the high rate of fire of enemies. Seems like the odds are a little too stacked against you. It is definitely a nice idea though, just in need of some balancing

Void Prison by Tadas Migauskas 2022-04-09T11:32:48Z

Very tight arcade game here. Love that you have the arena become smaller over time. Ensuring that a player has to be aggressive in how they play and try not to get hit at all because even one hit can be the end. Love the variety in enemy types as well. The only qualm I really have with this game is that sometimes, enemys spawn right on top of you. It can also be annoying when you get shot by an enemy who's offscreen. Other than though, the game's art is sublime and the music is damn catchy. It's a really addictive little game and a damn good entry overall

LD53 — Delivery

Air Delivery by pianoman373 2023-05-03T17:49:43Z

Air Delivery by pianoman373 - Google Chrome 03-05-2023 12_13_12 (2).png

A very relaxing little metroidvania. Very speedrunnable as well lol. I don't really have any complaints tbh. Loved the overall level design of the map and the pace at which you were pretty much always progressing. Let it be a new ability (eg: paper plane) or a new type of obstacle (eg: rock wall).

I do wish there were some sort of threats or enemies in the game, but that would probably take away from what is a very calming game overall. Either way, great work on this

Superfetch Dog by benjamin 2023-05-07T14:04:22Z

Got till level 18. It's rare for a game to really make me feel something. Well done on that. The small story the game has was intertwined with the gameplay so damn well.

However, it's the gameplay where my issues lie. Everything else was perfect.

I genuinely feel that the porcupines and the boars were too annoying and did way too much damage. Also, unless you have the sound or smell skills, finding the ball in later levels or if it's thrown damn far in the first few levels is next to impossible. Especially if it's hidden in the tall grass.

Regardless, it can't be understated how amazing this game is and how well you managed to weave a story among it all. Amazing entry. You could also take some of my issues with the gameplay with a grain of salt since I was so invested with bringing the ball back that I probably only disliked them because of that investment lol.

shape shipper by torcado 2023-05-06T11:58:11Z

Really great idea and mechanics. Everything about this is really cute as well, from the visuals to the little sounds for the player's footsteps. I absolutely love how you can stack pieces together. Made things really conveniant and ensures that you don't lose too much time if you put the wrong piece, or if it's at the wrong rotation. I guess my only issue is similiar to everyone above. The puzzles really needed to be weighted.

Still, absolutely amazing entry overall

Hazard Saviour by sinclairstrange 2023-05-02T20:47:20Z

Before I gush about this game, I just want to point out that in my first playthrough I encountered a game breaking bug where I couldn't pick up anyone. I think this was after I bought a weapon from the shop

Now as for my second playthrough

Hazard Saviour 02-05-2023 14_07_28.png

I'm in absolute awe of how you're able to put out these content rich games within the time period of a jam. There's an amazing amount of polish in this from the sprite work to the audio just like your other Ludum Dare games. The biomes present are also varied and damn pleasing to look at.

The timer is also pretty generous ensuring that things aren't too frustrating and the controls are snappy and fun.

I think my only real problem with the game is that the first time you play, it can be a little annoying trying to get to one part of the map only to find a dead end instead since the directional arrow isn't too much of a help at that point. This won't be a problem once you learn the map, but it's definitely worth noting lol. Keeping that issue aside, the map has a good flow to it none the less keeping it a joy to explore.

I'm definitely going to play this more and try and unlock more of the weapons. Really amazing work on this

IceCream Van by notnasiul 2023-05-02T14:37:06Z

The game looks and sounds amazing. I was a little confused at first about the position that kids had to be in for me to serve ice cream, but I got it. Managed a score of 23 dollars as well. Don't really have an complaints with the game either. Great job on this.

Neural Rot by Angela He 2023-05-03T13:19:30Z

Unfortunately even I was only able to get till the scientist I think. I went through 2 doors. One instantly crashed the game, and one led to another room where I killed some monsters, and then the game crashed after I exited the room

STARFLAIL by Mors 2023-05-02T13:22:53Z

Great game here. Visuals and audio are polished AF. I also appreciate that the entire cable kills an enemy and not just the crate. What the heck was that cow for though XD ?

I have some issues though. Some of this might just be me needing to git gud so take it with a grain of salt lol.

The crate swinging being unweildy is fine since it's supposed to be that way, however I feel like the amount of fuel you get from an enemy is a little too less at times. Especially considering the amount of time it takes to actually kill atleast one enemy sometimes. Along with that, you kinda end up in unwinnable situations when having to go back to the base after a delivery or when you start a new delivery. I really feel like you should either start with full health, or with some health added to your current amount when you're starting a new delivery.

None the less, great game all around. Unfortunately due to my issues mentioned above I was only able to get somewhat close to the planet in the second delivery. It's probably just me sucking at the game though lol.

Neo City Express by Pedro Medeiros 2023-05-03T16:36:35Z

Ooof. The last day was murderously difficult. Great game though. I guess the only issue is that it can be a little too hard at times to keep track of everthing ( especially the swerving ), but otherwise it's very pog. Great job

Also, on the 6th day I wasn't really able to backspace texts.

Swerved by Tony Redmer 2023-05-05T18:25:58Z

Looks absolutely amazing and sounds great too. However I feel like the handling could have been a little better. Cool game though

Special Delivery by Ismael Rodriguez 2023-05-03T14:44:17Z

A great little chill game. Don't really have any complaints. Overall presentation was great as well. Love what you did with the box's visuals as well

Deliver to Whence you Came by JUSTCAMH 2023-05-02T17:09:17Z

Amazing design decisions here. I still feel like the movements of the slugs/snakes(?) are a little too unpredictable, especially considering how precise you have to be with the ball sometimes

None the less, amazing level design all around. It's unreal how much you were able to communicate here just by showing and not telling. I wish I knew how to subvert expectations as hard as you can lol.

Graphics and audio were amazing as well along with the mood. The sfx for when you left a level were damn calming as well. I'm guessing that's you humming into a mike or something lol

Rhino Express by Mahjoub 2023-05-02T18:09:59Z

Amazing presentation on this. Looks, sounds and also feels very very good. I do wish there was an undo button or atleast a command to undo placing an object. Also if I really had to nitpick, I'd say that the main music loop was a little too limited and got noticably annoying after a while. But honestly, this is a cool little puzzle game overall

WASTELAND Express by YogurtTheHorse 2023-05-03T18:08:59Z

Cool little game. Driving is fun and intuitive. Shooting feels great as well though some more feedback from shooting enemies would be great. The map feels kinda useless at times, though once you learn the layout better, there shouldn't be any problem tbh. It looks really great in terms of graphics. Love the audio as well, especially the metal music. A good entry overall

Chain Mail by AdamCYounis 2023-05-03T16:01:17Z

Really great game. Presentation as a whole is fantastic. Both audio and visual wise. Loved the dynamic music during some of the cutscenes. It's probably only cus I'm bad at this sort of game but I didn't completely understand at times what exactly was happening and what the icons next to the characters meant ( i.e the one's at the top left of their posters ). I managed to get this far though. Good game even if I'm bad at it lol

Debbie's Diner Derby by Oroshibu 2023-05-03T14:19:54Z

A nice litte relaxing game. I do wish there more of a penalty at times for dropping food, but that goes against the entire point of the game and may even end up being kinda frustrating, so I'd say it does what it does very well.

Ludum Dare 53 post jam gif.gif

- The camera movement is more smoother - There's a final score now - The crate has an indicator for when there's only one smash left with it - The crate gets a little covered in blood when you hit an enemy - The speed of the zombies is no longer bugged by framerate - Depending on your combo counter, there will be a point bonus added to your score with every kill. This point bonus is displayed next to the combo counter - Zombies bleed to indicate that they're about to die in the next hit - The game gets more harder the further you get now

Rail Blazer by alanxoc3 2023-05-04T15:36:56Z

Great game. Absolutely amazing that you managed this within a jam. Love the concept as well.

However, I feel like the game really needs you to know where every house and material is on the map, else you're wasting tracks and money trying to find another house or material or elsewhere.

As a result, I ended up in a few unwinnable situations. But either way, the presenation is awesome and it is definitely fun to lay down your own rail network and travel from one building to another

Drone Delivery Despair by KenForest 2023-05-06T14:46:17Z

As the others have pointed out, incredible and unmatched sense of mood and atmosphere. Flying around in the drone was fun, though I felt like precision control when you needed to land or pick up a package could have been a little better.

Regardless, great game. That ending sorta caught me off gaurd as well lol.

PARCEL PUNISHER by SirMilkman 2023-05-02T16:26:06Z

I got a good amount of cash from those kills, and the packages were a nice bonus

Amazing game from top to bottom. Feels frickin great to play as well. I'm really in love with the visual style. So much so that I really want to steal it lol. Love how simple and to the point that everything's been designed though. Let it be how apart from doors, everything in the game ( let it enemies or windows ) is mostly differentiated by a simple and easy to read colour, to the little bounce or re-bound a package does after you throw it, or the little effect you get when you throw a package against anything.

I have some issues though. I agree with Camh that the final level kinda kills the pacing of the game, though it definitely feels like a final level with how brutal it is. I also feel like the parcel's hit detection could have been slightly better, especially when enemies are kinda clumped together. Not really a fan of the level where a lot of melee guys come at you at once since it kinda devolves to how lucky you were about whether they came at you one at a time or not. Also not a fan of getting shot offscreen by the yellow guys at times.

But honestly though, this is a fantastic action game through and through. Great job

Delinquent Delivery by SJPixels 2023-05-04T20:12:34Z

Really wish this went on for longer since I did get into the groove of bashing bandits

However, I feel like the characters really needed shadows or something so that I could tell the distance between them. It's because the game kinda suffered from the problem that most beat-em-ups have, which is that it's hard to tell if you're on the same line as the enemy or close enough to it to punch the enemy.

Also, while the animations for the player were amazing, I feel like the enemy's animations didn't have feedback for when an enemy died. The feedback for normal hits was good, but there wasn't really anything for an enemy's death.

None the less, it was damn fun while it lasted and the presentation as a whole was cool. Really good entry overall

The Mailman by Castitatis 2023-05-04T17:37:26Z

Cool little beat-em-up.

I think this would have been a little better if you either had more means of crowd control looking at the number of enemies you throw at the player, or you reduced the number of enemies a player faces at a time. The mail works nicely as projectile weapons, but doesn't really help much again with dealing with so many enemies. The scooter also could have used a visual timer or something to show how long it would be active while you were riding it.

But the presentation is great. Love the different animations and enemy types. Some good feedback when you hit an enemy as well. Cool entry

Machine Meltdown by Stefan Funke 2023-05-02T18:29:41Z

My anxiety levels kinda rose for a bit when the progress bar reached 99% and stayed there for a while lol. Cool little bossfight. As you already mentioned, issues like getting damaged when you touch the boss and a general lack of feedback definitely hindered me a bit, but I still played through because the boss design was good.

I think my real issues were that the smash radius of the hands was a little too big and that you had to replay the tutorial every time. None the less though, a good little entry

Crash Courier by Ategon 2023-05-03T18:01:13Z

Cool little game. I think the hitbox for the undrivable parts of the tracks was a little too big in general. Along with that, handling was a little unwieldy which made things a little too haphazard and chaotic.

Shooting feels nice though. The sound effects and the music are bangers. Cool game

Fragile: Handle With Care by jakubtomsu 2023-05-05T14:24:50Z

Cool little action game. The presentation was good with both the audio and visuals looking great. I love how you can push an enemy onto a conveyor belt lol. I also love how you can essentially group the enemies elsewhere and basically throw the package through them lol. It's simple design and it works damn well. Great work

Dead Deliverance by JimmyMcGinger 2023-05-07T20:19:42Z

Damn good entry. Loved the presentation as a whole. I'm a sucker for minimalist palletes lol. Although I do have some qualms.

I kinda wish there was some sort of audio indicator for when an enemy was sucked in by you since I found myself wasting a second or so to check whether it was actually dead or not.

The dash was also kind unresponsive at times for me. Take that with a grain of salt since it may have just been my computer acting up, but sometimes the dash wouldn't work. I noticed it was unresponsive when I tried dashing while I was falling after a jump.

I also think that the game really needed a mini map or something along those lines since I did find myself getting lost quite a lot lol. Though again, probably just me failing to learn the layout properly lol.

Regardless, really good entry.

Turbo Baby by AdamLenglen 2023-05-02T15:58:36Z

My highest score is 3521. Great game lol.

The animations and music are absolutely on-point. I'd say the speed of the game is fine, but I think the actual control layout could be a little better. Still, this is a fantastic little endless runner. Love the overall attitude and feel of it lol

LD55 — Summoning

Alien Summoner by harusame 2024-04-19T19:56:37Z

Alien Summoner 20-04-2024 00_37_48.png

Absolutely adore this.

Controlling the ufo and watching your kaijus wreak havoc is an absolute ton of fun in general. The difficulty also scales pretty well the further you get into the city. It doesn't start out too slow but also still allows you to get used to how to play the game.

Love the variety of both enemies and kaiju and that they all had different behaviours. They fit pretty well into the difficulty curve since you need to start strategising about which kaijus you really need in the heat of the moment. As I got further in, I found myself spawning in the small and large kaijus to deal with buildings and ground enemies, then I'd go back to get more energy and spawn the medium kaijus to deal with the enemies in the air. That, and also destroying stuff with my laser was damn fun as well. There's definitely a lot of strategy involved here, but at the same time, you can still turn off your brain and just have fun if you want to lol

It goes without saying that the presentation as a whole was absolutely amazing. Let it be the visuals, audio or even the humour injected in pretty much everything lol. Especially the news forecasts. Love the designs for everything, let it be the kaiju, the tanks, helicopters, buildings etc. This game's got a great feel to it.

However, my biggest issue with this game also lies in it's visuals. As great as they are, I think the overuse of light blue in the game's art hampers readability a LOT. Energy being blue, the kaiju's main outline and some parts of their design like the medium kaiju's head and the large kaiju's eyes, the ufo itself, the windows of buildings, the outlines of bullets etc.

All of this kinda caused many things about the visuals to really blend together at times, to the point that I could hardly tell if a bullet was coming at me or not sometimes. It also took me a little bit to really notice that I had to move the shadow over energy to collect it, but that's more of a skill-issue on my part lol.

I do also kinda wish that the ufo had some way of dealing with flying enemies specifically. Maybe an emp attack that gets charged the more buildings get destroyed or something along those lines. Mostly because I feel like you needed atleast one other option to deal with them apart from medium Kaijus

That said, most of the issues I mentioned above still managed to add to the overall chaotic nature of the game lol. And at the very least, enemies themselves didn't really suffer too much from any readability issues.

Also loved the 2.5D intro

Seriously though, kudos to your entire team because all-in-all ...

SMT demon simulator

Genuinely one of the funniest game jam games I've played. Amazing work on that

Apart from that, I'm not exactly sure how to critique this since it seems like that was your main aim with it lol

Admittedly the section where you have to collect dynamite was really annoying up until I realised that I had to bounce into them. I thought I should avoid them until the end. ( Though I'm probably just pig-headed so you can ignore this tbh )

Also the platforming at the end could've been a little more responsive

But again, this game focussed on it's humour above all else and everything was admittedly very hilarious. Let it be the dialogue, or even the animations themselves. Wonderful presentation across the board

So yeah, A fantastic entry all things considered

Summon Death by TheMadPangolin 2024-04-16T17:29:32Z

Summon Death 16-04-2024 22_42_48.png

Love the overall setup here. Sort of a twist on a pokemon battle. ( Though I guess this is more of a twist on an smt game )

The presentation as a whole is cool, let it be visual or audio-wise

Combat is cool as well. Love how your wizard also shoots. The enemy wizard's attacks were also telegraphed really well. The arenas are also well designed since you have to take into account which paths will get blocked somewhat since your wizard has to shoot as well.

The only thing I'm not too keen on is that falling off the arena feels a little punishing and should take away 1 hp rather than 2. It's pretty much the only reason I died whenever I did. Though this is probably just a skill issue lol

But either way, great work on this

Gacha Panic by Squidly 2024-04-16T18:09:22Z

Gacha Panic 16-04-2024 23_23_37.png

It goes without saying it, but stellar presentation all around. It really is impressive how many of the gachamons you created, and all of them look great ( or atleast the one's I saw so far. Although I'm sure the other ones also look great )

The audio is also pretty cute as well. Especially the duck lol

However, I have some qualms with the gameplay. I think the game would've benefitted from the player's movement being more snappy in general. That and I think it was a little annoying have the gachamons attacking an enemy I didn't want them to. Especially when it meant that they would die if their health was too low.

Admittedly this does add to the overall tension of the gamesince it forces you to move quickly and prioritise which gacha vendor to get to, but I think it would be better if you could decide when your gachas attack as opposed to them auto-targetting

Regardless of that though, this game's got a ton of charm and was damn fun

Split-Decision by ColeSlaughter 2024-04-17T16:38:49Z

SplitDecision 17-04-2024 20_57_53.png

Screenshotting for now since my name will probably disappear from the leaderboard soon lol

Anyway, great game. The main mechanic took me a while to really get. It especially took me a while to understand that instead of clicking on a moving ball of light, you need to click on a point that the ball is moving towards and aim from there. However, I'm pig-headed so someone else might actually understand how this works more faster than me lol. Take this with a grain of salt

That said, I think the speed of the balls could be reduced a little more during slow-mo since it got annoying trying to aim and also get the direction when I first started playing. Mostly because I was still learning which directions of the mouse corresponded to the split directions for the balls. ( Although this is probably just a skill issue lol )

One of the biggest issues with games that focus on bouncing or reflecting objects is that they can often feel like they rely on luck above all else, but you guys mitigated that really well. The laser lights gave me a very clear idea of the direction that the balls will go. Admittedly though I think there was definitely a bit of luck needed at some points though ( But then again, this is also probably just a giant skill issue from my side so you can ignore it lol )

The presentation as a whole is very solid, let it be visually or audio-wise. The sound effect which plays when you shoot a white ball of light into the sun never failed to make me laugh a bit lol.

Overall I think this is a very damn solid entry. Amazing work guys

Summoned to Serve by Zinkler 2024-05-01T14:02:40Z

This was definitely an interesting entry

I love the ideas here. YEET-ing a civil servant with a catapult was absolutely hilarious lol

The presentation as a whole was pretty cool. Loved the graphical style and the audio. The art as a whole was blocky but in a cute way

I loved the events that popped up. They really did a good layer of strategy to the mix. Having a guy who'd lend a horse meant I had to strategise about whether I should really use a horse to transport a servant, or maybe just have him get a horse along the way. I do feel like these events could've been balanced a little more in terms of the positions that they spawned at though, especially the crowds.

However, I'm not really a fan of how the popups prevent you from clicking in general sometimes. I know you can use the arrow keys instead to plot out the direction that you need to walk on, but still. It's definitely worth noting that is a bit annoying.

I also wished there was a better indicator for when I could actually summon a civil servant or not since I found myself rapidly clicking on the bell sometimes since I couldn't tell if I actually could or not. I'm also not sure if the game was bugged or not, but there was one situation where I just couldn't click anything whatsoever ( the bell or anything else ).

The game really does need a tutorial, but I might just be pig-brained so take it with a grain of salt.

But either way, what's here is pretty damn cool. Solid entry all around

Wonder Whistle by Ismael Rodriguez 2024-04-17T17:17:46Z

WonderWhistle 17-04-2024 22_35_46.png

Unforunately I couldn't really get past this level lol

But either way, I love the overall presentation here. The art had the right mix of being crunchy and also being cute. The particle effects were also cool. The audio was great as well

I also loved how you explained certain mechanics wordlessly, although it also kinda leads to my only issue with this game

I'm still not sure why some blocks refused to move when clicked.

Still, the mechanics here are great, and the game has a good pace to it's puzzles. Wonderful entry

Elemental Surge by Foursay 2024-04-20T08:03:49Z

LD55_Summoning 20-04-2024 12_03_25.png

This is really damn good

Goes without saying that the presentation is great. I also love how readable everything was as well. If at all I got hit, I always knew it was my fault, even when things got hectic.

And pls, let us download that music. I beg you

I think the main mechanic is pretty interesting in general in that it really forces you to try and group enemies together, and the ability to spawn the stars that shoot everywhere is a great incentive

I also love how the water enemies shoot out your bubble, so you can't just keep spamming it. You need to try and kick it into enemies as well ( which was hella satisfying )

I have only one real issue ( and tbh, you can ignore it if you want to since it's probably just a skill-issue lol ) which was that as things got more hectic, I stopped trying to notice if enemies were the same size or not before I tried summoning them. But this probably just needs more practice lol

All in all, I think this a damn good entry. Amazing work on this

Salmoning by kuviman 2024-04-19T20:50:32Z

This reminded me more of crazy taxi than gta tbh, but either way, it's remarkable how much you guys accomplished here

Really love the presentation overall. Gives this a pretty chill and fun vibe

Globeba by Saturnyoshi 2024-04-16T16:37:03Z

I recently started playing the minish cap so this definitely felt familiar, right down to how you wordlessly explain mechanics

Everything about this is stellar, although I kinda wish you had a map ( although if you do get one later on, then I take it back ).

Regardless, this is an amazing job

A Following Wind by digitaliliad 2024-04-17T18:56:29Z

A Following Wind 17-04-2024 23_51_21.png

Very cool puzzle game lol. Great presentation overall. Love the art and the music was pretty catchy.

I like the overall concept and how you pulled it off. It really did make me feel like a god

Like others have said, I think some more visual indicators were needed, if only to know for sure that a ship was turning. I know you mentioned on the game's page that I didn't need to spam the wind, but it felt like I had to sometimes since the ships weren't really turning sometimes. This system also kinda makes it hard to turn ships in tight corners, but if anything it's realistic at the very least lol

I also like how I had to make sure that when I sent a gust of wind, it didn't re-direct some other ship. It was a cool layer of strategy to consider.

However, I think the game needed more audio feedback in general. My biggest issue with this game was that the sounds for ships getting destroyed all sounded the same ( i.e a pirate ship getting destroyed sounds the same as one of your ships getting detroyed ) so I constantly had to keep checking the faith and score counts and take my eyes off the game, which would cause me to lose more ships as well.

Another issue that resulted from this was that I wouldn't know where exactly a ship crashed, so I constantly had to look all over the screen for that dust cloud that would be left over, which isn't exactly helpful in a game where you need to keep track of 100 things at once.

All things considered, for something made in under 2 days for the compo, this is damn good. Awesome job

Screenshot 2025-04-11 214653.png

Very charming game here. Great presentation as a whole. Good humour as well

My only real issue with the game was that it felt a little too random at times. That said, exploring the world of the game was still fun. Solid game here

Abyss Vaulter by sinclairstrange 2025-04-08T17:05:41Z

Screenshot 2025-04-08 221556.png

It never ceases to amaze me how much you manage to get done in these timeframes lol. MMO when ?

In all seriousness though, it goes without saying that the presentation here was amazing all around. Love how each of the 3 areas both looked but also felt distinct. Let it be because of the types of enemies, or the overall visual styles of each area.

Loved how each area had atleast one mechanic to differentiate them. I also loved how you introduced each of these new obstacles in a way that I pretty much instantly understood them. I thought every level had a great flow to it as well of this. I can definitely see some people speedrunning this and having a swell time doing it

That said, I think the game suffered in a way because of this. Mostly because the level design started to get somewhat repetitive in each of the 3 areas. This was mostly prevalent in the second half of each area where it felt like certain ideas got re-used a little too many times. ( I think some of the levels in the first area had a little too many instances where there was an enemy that would shoot at you horizontally on a higher platform )

While I thought the diamonds in the third area were an interesting obstacle, it wasn't clear as it could have been what the range of their pull was. More often than not I couldn't really hear the sound they were making because of everything else, and I ended up getting pulled away even though I was only slightly on their level.

The rogue-lite mechanics definitely kept things interesting and really incentivised me to collect gems and go for bonuses

The final boss while cool, also felt a little undercooked imo. All of it's attacks felt like I could mostly just shoot upwards while moving only slightly. Still, it goes back to what I said before about how amazing it is that you were able to put out all of this, including a final boss, in such a small timeframe lol

All in all, this is a very polished game with a ton of great content in it. Great stuff

Bedrock Rush by superjai 2025-04-12T05:55:45Z

Reminds me a lot of hill climb racing lol. Going to download it now since it's been a while

The only reason I'm not giving this a full 5 for fun is because I think the randomness could've been balanced better

Also I thought that the track itself could've looked a little different. The readability of the visuals basically tanked whenever you had a track above and behind you.

Along with whenever there were other opponents around you. I kinda wish the carts looked a little different because it was easy to miss my cart in the shuffle.

All that said, the actual racing was amazing. I loved how you incentivised going for spins for speed boosts. Even if the rocks were random, getting hit by them was hilarious at the very least. Rocking soundtrack as well and great effects as well

Overall I'd say this was great for what it was. kudos to the entire team

Moos from the Depth of Space by notnasiul 2025-04-20T12:08:19Z

Screenshot 2025-04-20 173104.png

Very solid game and idea here. The art looked adorable as well

That said, I think the ship's vertical movement needed some tuning. It seems to fall a little too quickly imo

At first I felt the number of farmers spawning and shooting at a time was a little too much, but I do love that you can pick them up. It makes things a lot more manageable and fun

That said, I feel like the game got pretty monotonous after a while. It really needed atleast one more enemy type, or atleast one other type of obstacle.

All things considered though, this was a pretty damn good and funny entry

Podvodsk by Finlal 2025-04-13T17:30:04Z

Screenshot 2025-04-13 222913.png

Took me a while to understand what was going on here, especially since I'm someone who isn't really into strategy games, but I have to say that this was very interesting

The presentation is absolutely amazing all around. The audio felt calming and the pixel art was absolutely beautiful. The UI and the various types of buildings, pathways, ground tiles etc. all stood out pretty well and were immediately discernable

While I like the overall idea and how you guys went about it, I think it's a little too dependant on randomness. Probably just a skill issue, but I ended up in a bunch of situations where I was definitely screwed no matter what. That said, needing to adapt on the fly and plan for later moves still managed to be fun.

I'm not really sure what the mouse icons at the top right actually meant though. Mostly because they looked like they were referring to some action with the right mouse button. ( imo )

All that said, this was a very polished entry with some great concepts that you guys executed pretty damn well. Kudos to the entire team

Tidehold by outstar 2025-04-09T16:42:58Z

Unfortunately I don't know much about strategy or city builder games, so there isn't too much constructive criticism that I could give, but I thought this was pretty interesting

I'm not sure why I was unable to build anything other than a house at times, but I thought needing to place the oxygen tanks to uncover the area was cool, and the radar pointing the way kept things interesting. It definitely made me consider which buildings to place and where.

It also goes without saying how amazing the presentation was. Both audio and visuals were great and eally set a good atmosphere as well.

Extremely solid game all around here

Wave 21 by AlexClay 2025-04-13T06:58:06Z

Screenshot 2025-04-13 120747.png

Really cool game here. Loved the mechanics and how you handled dashing as well. Reminded me of luftrausers in a way

The enemy variety was cool, and even though it was a small amount, I loved how you managed to make use of them to their fullest. Each wave felt like it's own puzzle in a way with a solid amount of variety.

That said, I was a little sad that each enemy was more or less the same thing design wise. I think having some enemies move a little would've added a lot more to the dynamics of the combat and made things more interesting ( As an example, just having the boats or the helicopters move left or right, but at different speeds would've added a lot )

I also think that some of the missiles tracked you a little too precisely. Maybe they could've been a little generous in that regard.

Loved the art style and how you mixed 2D and 3D, though I think you could've made it a little more cohesive. I think some of the sound effects could've been a little less sharper. The sound admittedly got somewhat annoying after a while.

Overall, this was a very solid little game. Great work on this.

Hadal by ColeSlaughter 2025-04-08T17:31:17Z

Getting over it with the keyboard cowboys.

Ended up with a time of around 5 minutes since I didn't really make use of the rectangular blobs properly ( though that's definitely a skill issue from my side lol )

I'd like to say more about this game, but there isn't too much to say tbh

Presentation both visually and audio-wise is great, and the level design was engaging while also having the right amount of variety to it. There's not much for me to nitpick either

Frankly, this is a very solid game all around that does what it wants to do very well. Great stuff

Scavenger Deep by hope42morrow 2025-04-13T18:20:31Z

It goes without saying that the presentation is absolutely amazing. The visuals were amazingly detailed for a jam game, and the audio was great at selling the mood and atmosphere

I had a couple of bugs though. The sfx for the player drowing didn't stop when I got out of the water, and didn't stop when I went back in after changing my gas tanks.

Still, I'd say what was here was still fun for what it was. Solid job here on this one.

Moldwasher by Rubel_NMB 2025-04-13T08:22:25Z

I was only able to get to the level with the fly, cheese, bread and erm.... whatever the third food was

I loved the effect for cleaning mold of the food items. Also liked the presentation in general.

That said, I think the game needed some balancing. The mold seems to regrow a little too quickly, especially when you have to deal with the fly. It feels like I'm fighting a losing battle.

None the less, this was a cool idea that you executed pretty well. Solid entry here

One More Folder by Paul-Maxime 2025-04-12T09:03:46Z

Pretty interesting puzzle game all things considered. Loved the presentation and how minimalistic it was.

I don't really have any complaints or nitpicks tbh. You had a very clear idea and executed it pretty damn well overall. Good stuff

Yet Another Game About Digging A Hole by AploveStudio 2025-04-08T18:16:14Z

So I've never played the steam game.

Still, this game was therapeutic, and then it started to echo my own thoughts about games and media in general

I think my only complaint is that it's extremely easy to miss the tutorial book. As a result I kinda just kept digging without any upgrades for a good while

I do agree with pretty much everything you had to say, including the ( what I'm assuming was the ) last book

You have a cool way of expressing your feelings through your games. Something I wish I could do as well. Great stuff

Super Pyonpon by Saturnyoshi 2025-04-10T17:41:13Z

Another polished and well made entry. It's always a pleasure to play something from y'all

Presentation was amazing all around. Loved the variety in visuals and the animations were charming as all heck. The audio was also cute

The mechanics are cool. Loved the variety in obstacles as well. Also loved how you guys managed to teach how each obstacle worked through level design alone. Speaking of which, I'd say the level design involved in the puzzles was great overall.

That said, I'm a little mixed on how so many rooms were completely skippable. But more importantly, I wasn't really a fan of how a good number of the levels could just be skipped by just moving downwards without doing anything else. I guess it feels good if you're trying to speedrun, but I felt it definitely impacts the flow of the game

Though I think my biggest issue is how it's so easy to accidentally miss levels entirely. There were quite a number of times where I pretty much just fell through the level and reached the next one before I could actually tell what was going on. I'm guessing this goes away on replay, but I think having atleast one small platform in some of these levels would've been really helpful.

All that said though, this was a great game. Kudos to the entire team

I usually don't play these sorts of games, so there isn't too much I could say about what you could add to this or do differently

What I will say is that the overall atmosphere was immaculate and calming. Loved the overall aesthetic and feel. That said, I do think that the readability of the game suffered somewhat because of the grass and trees etc.

It's not really a problem though, and I'd say you definitely achieved what you set out for here with this game. Definitely a charming experience

Happy Cleaning Co. by auxC 2025-10-10T18:55:47Z

Happy Cleaning Co 11-10-2025 00_13_50.png

Very solid game here. The overall presentation was great and pretty charming. Speaking of charming, that voice acting was definitely perfect for the kind of game this was. Same applies to the audio in general.

The gameplay mechanics were cool, and sucking and shooting trash and dirt/snow was fun as heck. That said, I was a little disappointed in the overall gameplay structure. As the game went on, it felt like the same puzzle/scenario was being repeated without any real change. It still managed to be fun, but I won't lie that it got slightly monotonous.

I think the main factor here was that you could still pull off wall jumps even when your pink bag was very full. As a result, it didn't matter too much that I sucked every piece of trash around me since I could mostly wall-jump my way out of any part of the level ( Except for maybe 1 or 2 levels towards the end )

And while only a small nitpick, I felt like the objects you needed to vacuum kinda blended into the environment during the sewer levels. Maybe they could've contrasted a little more better ( But this wasn't really that much of an issue tbh )

All in all, I'd say you guys made a pretty fun game with a ton of personality to boot. Kudos to y'all

Broke Custodian: From Dust Till Display by outstar 2025-10-12T15:45:24Z

broke custodian pic.png

As much as I'd like to give feedback about this, I really have no idea what was happening in this game lol. Keep in mind that these sorts of games aren't really my cup of tea, so take everything I say with a grain of salt.

At some point, I managed a setup where the starts were all green, but again, I still have no clue why the items when placed the way I placed them gave me those green stats. Is it that a section should only have items which are of the same type ? If that's the case, then why were certain stones not working with the other fossils ?

I think a little more clarity about some of the items would've helped a lot. I also agree with the others above me in that some of the events like the one's where the kids threw everything in storage were definitely more annoying than anything else. I'm not really a fan of how the digging minigame is structured. Having the entire thing be based on how fast you can click was a little annoying ( for me anyway. Like I said before, maybe take everything I said with a grain of salt )

That said though, the humour was on-point ( " Just pretend it's an extinct species of bird " lol ). The art in general was top-class as well. I know my thoughts about this game might sound like they're negative, but that doesn't take away from the fact that I think this game is still pretty damn cool for what you guys set out to do.

Great job on this y'all

Holo Friends by ColeSlaughter 2025-10-07T16:47:17Z

Tried a number of times and couldn't get past day 3 lol ( Was playing the post-jam version ). That's fine though, I'm usually not the audience for this kind of game, so take everything I say with a grain of salt. None the less, this was still very damn cool.

Absolutely loved the presentation, let it be audio or visual. The art was beautiful all around, let it be the cards or other things like the bills, happiness bag etc. If I did have to nitpick, I kinda wished the bag you put your cards into stood out a little more from the environment more. At first I didn't notice it was a bag since it kinda blended into the environment. ( Probably just a me-thing )

I also couldn't really tell at first that you could put cards into your bank account ( again, probably just a me-thing ). Still, once I really understood the core loop of the game, it got really interesting. I also like the whole meta-story underneath everything of needing to balance life with a crippling gacha addiction lmao.

All in all, I'd say this was a damn good entry. Kudos to all of y'all

Voltaic Harvest by dxk2294 2025-10-09T16:06:43Z

Voltaic Harvest 09-10-2025 21_24_44.png

Pretty solid game here all things considered. Presentation wise it was cool, though I personally thought a different sound could've been used for the car's gun. It sounded a little weak imo.

Visually it looked great, though I won't deny that the readability of the game suffered quite a lot. Some of the enemies blended a little too much into the environment, whereas others stood out more and were more easily noticable.

In terms of the gameplay, I love the boost and AOE attack mechanics. Because you take damage from colliding with enemies, you basically need to try to keep yourself in boost to keep yourself in the fight. This encouraged constant movement and basically made me really need to scout out those blue circles to recharge my car's battery, but also so I can have the aoe attack ready to take out the trash mobs. Very solid combat mechanics here.

Overall, I'd say you guys made a damn good entry. Kudos to y'all

To The End Of Time by Kepsert 2025-10-11T13:53:24Z

ProjectTimeLord 11-10-2025 18_53_22.png

Played on medium. Great little game here

The main mechanics reminded me quite a lot of disc room lol. Both the dash and bullet time felt good to use and also felt like they had the right amount of time behind them in terms of delays/cooldown time. I loved how taking damage cleared some of the bullets around you. I kinda wish collecting the hour glasses also did the same.

The presentation as a whole was great, but I have some issues. The 2D and 3D art was beautiful, but I felt like the environmental shadows got in the way of the game sometimes. Whenever the shadows of the background showed up, they basically blocked the shadows of the bullets. As a result, it was honestly hard to tell where exactly the bullets were sometimes since it basically screwed with the game's depth perception.

Since I'm talking about the bullets, I wasn't really a fan of the orange bullets. They kinda just pop out of nowhere randomly and quickly to the point it's hard to really dodge them sometimes ( Maybe just a skill issue on my part, but I think they would work better if they're speed was decreased ). I do love the intensity of the game, but I think these issues definitely detract from it because for this sort of intensity to work, everything needs to be immediately readable ( imo )

I also felt that the clock hand was kinda underutilised. I do like the idea that it effectively boxes you in the closer it gets, but since it never really gets that close to you, it doesn't really impact the gameplay much. Granted I died a few times, so it's probably just a skill issue on my side again, but I think this is still worth noting.

Also was a little dissappointed that the pattern for the boss was pretty much the same thing as before and didn't really change much throughout the boss.

None the less, I think you guys still managed to make something pretty great here. The lore details were also a nice touch. Kudos to all of y'all

I've always wanted to tell stories through games, but never really knew how to do it well. You made something pretty impactful which lasted only a few a minutes, and I commend you for that

Maybe it's because of how short it was and how the timer on the phone was so close to the end that I felt like I really had to take a few pictures, lol. It definitely made the experience tbh. The anticipation because of it kinda had me on edge

Part of me wants to nitpick and wish that the game was maybe a little more interactive, but it doesn't take away from the fact that you made something really good here. Well done

Duckollector by ghettobastler 2025-10-11T17:09:57Z

Unfortunately I got cooked, but that's on me. This game is great

Presentation as a whole is great. Audio and visuals are great and clear. The pixel art in general is pretty cute.

I'm guessing disc room was this game's primary inspiration lol. That aside, you still did a wonderful job here and made something that still manages to feel like it's own thing. I think the best thing this game does is how it handles progression. The difficulty felt just right all around ( Although I think the beginning might feel a little too slow on replay, but that's fine. From day 2 or 3 and onwards it ramps up nicely ). That and also the scale of the arena and enemy types also ramped up in a way which felt right.

The variety in enemy types were also great, along with each enemy type looking and feeling distinct enough that they complemented each other pretty well. On one hand, I felt like maybe the game becomes a little too random the longer you go on in a day ( Something which I felt disc room suffered from as well tbh ) but I think it works well here none the less since it makes the decision of when to cash in or not all the more tense.

All in all, I'd say you made a damn good game here. Really great job

This was the max I was able to go after trying a few times. Pretty interesting game all things considered

I'll be honest, I probably still don't know everything about this game, so I'll just talk about what I think I know for sure lol. I do like how you took the theme with this game. While there's the signal that makes part of the map visible, the real signals that you need to watch out for are the indications of walls in the environment. Let it because you bump into them or because you shoot at them like echo location with a bat

As a result, the game was atmospheric as all hell with great minimalistic visuals to match. I know nothing about shader work, but I will say that I think this game looks positively beautiful with how the world wraps around itself so to speak.

I thought it was an interesting design decision to have enemies only spawn when you use the signal power, but that aspect of the game just felt kinda underutilised imo. Enemies never really spawned much at all in all the times I played the game and I dealt with them swiftly either way. I also kinda wish that you had some way to recover your signal power. Maybe there's already one but I suppose I couldn't find it lol

All in all, this is an intriguing little exploration game. Great job on this

Chomp Radio by alexrose 2026-04-22T17:36:38Z

Made it to what I'm assuming was the end. Pretty cool game here all things considered

The presentation in general was amazing. Props to whoever did the voice acting because I could kinda tell instantly that the opening 2 characters were snake and otocon even before I saw the codec pictures lol. I think the best thing about the presentation though has to be the weapon menu. It was slick AF to use and always managed to feel intuitive even when the snake was all over the place. There were some scenarios where I kinda had to keep pressing directions until it moved to the next body part, but that's just a nitpick.

As for the gameplay, it was cool tbh. I love games that sorta let you feel like a bossfight from another game and this was very fun in that regard. That said, the enemies stopped feeling light a threat as the game went on. It also didn't really seem to matter what my choice of weapon was since different builds didn't really change my tactics all that much. If anything, what was actually threatening me was the size of the snake as the game went on. Losing most of your body and your weaponry when more and more enemies start spawning was definitely an interesting scenario lol.

All that said though, I think my only real problems with the game were the following - I could never really tell when and if I was actually taking damage. Is it just if the head gets hit or the entire body of the snake ? - The levels did end up feeling a little too confusing and samey in terms of their structure and visual layouts. It didn't impact the fun of the game much, but it did make them slightly annoying to navigate

None the less, this was a pretty solid game overall. Kudos to the whole team

The Lighthouse by Iluvatar 2026-04-24T20:33:26Z

Phenomenal presentation here. Everything from the voice acting to the pixel art was honestly immaculate. The story also had me pretty hooked.

Adventure games usually aren't my thing, but I can't deny that this makes me want to make one now lol. After getting the monster ending I replayed and got the one where the zombie kills you as well. The voice acting on the zombie and the standoff were genuinely chilling and had me on the edge of my seat.

If I had any sort of qualm about this game, it's that the theme isn't really too prevalent in it, even from a narrative point of view. Still, that doesn't negate the absolute quality on display here. Fantastic stuff

Extremely innovative game. No idea how the heck you even made this, but it's honestly interesting as all hell with how it works.

Presentation wise this was immaculate. The visuals were charming as all hell and that voice acting was top notch. No complaints whatsoever in this regard

That said, I thought the actual minigames became fairly tedious after a while. The duck one was definitely interesting but the gambling machines got kinda annoying. The final boss was cool in that you didn't have access to the main mechanics, but part of me was also a little sad that it didn't build upon those mechanics if that makes sense. Still a solid final battle though

Good stuff here all things considered.

Always love the moody atmosphere that your games have. The atmosphere of this game was immaculate and the music complemented it beautifully. Definitely felt like that scene from lord of the rings.

Since this is your first Unity game I was expecting some jank, but damn. This game still feels amazing lol. The vistas were beautiful. I think the placement of some of the invisible walls was a little annoying though, especially when I was trying to platform upwards and get a vantage point to see the next signal

That said, cool little narrative game in a way. Loved how you could feel the danger in the first area with the sounds of the town during a battle

Also, floating tree ftw

I don't really have any complaints tbh. This is an absolutely hilarious adventure/puzzle game with a very interesting concept to match. Especially love how some of the puzzles were implied like needing to hit the side of the tv when the matrix guy showed up at the sides.

If I had a complaint, it's that maybe the tv's head could've been a little more sensitive to mouse movement in general, but that's honestly just a nitpick. Played all the way through and loved all of the videos as well.

Fantastic work overall cowboys

Mr. Signal by Ismael Rodriguez 2026-04-24T15:47:55Z

Got till the signal where you get infinite flight and just flew around a lot afterwards. Really great game here. Kinda makes me want to make a space exploration game now lol

I love how this game was effectively a platformer in a way. You had to be careful of which signal was actually close enough to you and use the fast forward to set things up pretty well. ( It admittedly took me a while before I realised that it was a fast forward when it came to time and not a boost lol. Was confused as to how it was supposed to work for a while )

I was also a little confused how signal compatibility worked as well, but I understood it over time later.

The presentation of this game in general was amazing. Especially love how you had to move through some gaseous planets lol. Cool detail. That and the fact that you had multiple signal around planets along with having planetary satellites which had their own signals kept things very dynamic and fun.

All in all, I'd say that this was a very solid game. Great stuff here

The Last Signal by DarthWaxus 2026-04-25T12:07:04Z

This has some pretty cool ideas and honestly does make for a fun little arcade game, but it needs some tuning here and there.

First of all, I love the visual style and presentation, but I'm not really a fan of how the arrow for the ball attack works. Since the arrow is so low it's kinda hard to notice it sometimes. Especially when the screen gets more and more crowded by enemies. This issue is also further exacerbated by the fact that the camera is also so low which messes with the depth perception of where exactly the ball will land as well, and whether I'm far away enough from it. I think moving the camera a little upwards and adjusting the angle so that it faces more downwards would help more in this regard.

I do like the tension that it provides along with having the enemies though. Needing to clear a path for myself lest I get hit by the ball had me on the edge of my seat while playing. Fighting the enemies was fun, but also needed some tuning ( imo ). I like how you kinda have to try and get in as many hits as possible on an enemy and then try to move away, but also watch out for the ball attack. That said, I could barely make out whether an enemy was doing an attack or not. It's not only the fact that enemy animations feel a little too quick to even see, but they're very unreadable sometimes with how low the camera is once again. I get that you wanted to angle the camera such that the signal was always visible, and it does look cool to see it in the background. That said, I think it's hampering the functionality of the game a little too much ( imo ).

I tried a few times and I managed to make it halfway on my best run. This is a pretty cool all things considered, but definitely needs some more work here and there. None the less, it does look pretty damn stylish.

Smoke Operator by cagibi 2026-04-21T19:27:55Z

Screenshot 2026-04-22 003021.png

Not sure if I've ever seen this sort of torch mechanic. It's a pretty cool interpretation of the theme as well. That said, I have some qualms with it.

Before that though, I just wanted to say that I loved the overall presentation of this game. The way you used the colour pallete was great and pleasing to the eye. Especially loved the chunky art style as well. That said, I think the readability of some things could've been a little better. At first I didn't really notice the yellow eggs of the vultures since they kinda just blended into the yellow background. Same with the spiders. I kinda wish they had a different colour to stand out from the background of the cave.

All that said, I think my biggest problem with the game visually came to the smoke clouds that cause harm to you. Since they're the exact same sprite as the smoke that your torch emits, it made the sections with the harmful smoke more annoying than they really should have been. Not a massive deal breaker or anything, but still something worth noting in my opinion.

As for the actual platforming, I thought it was pretty solid overall. Admittedly I don't think I really would have beaten the fan puzzle without the hint you posted in these comments though. I thought the boss was great though. Pretty solid fight with clear telegraphs and the floating platform definitely helped make the fight more dynamic. That said, sometimes a cloud did damage to it, and sometimes it didn't. I do think that that could've been more consistent all things considered.

All in all, I'd say you made a very solid game here. Good stuff

Roadkill junction by BadPiggy 2026-04-20T18:59:31Z

@dzejpi Thanks for playing and for the feedback. Just wanted to say that the headlights going back to yellow were intentional. That was just to indicate that a car moved because you signaled to it

And a car blowing past when the lights were orange was also intentional. They get too angry if you make them wait for too long lol.

Bulletproof Broadcast by ugly_robot 2026-04-21T15:56:54Z

Absolutely hilarious game. I instantly did a second playthrough to get the second ending as well. Seeing the entire crowd cheer when the king died had me belly laughing lol. The dialogue by your superior(?) was great for both traitors and loyalists. The art style also really aided the atmosphere that you were going for. If anything, the overall presentation helped keep things light hearted enough that it works despite how topical it felt lol.

Now that I think about it, this game kinda reminds me of state of emergency in that regard. i.e how it has a pretty light-hearted feel to it which helps hide how dark the subject matter is lol.

All that said, I do have some qualms with some of the design of the game. I think having the sign holders sweat as a tell wasn't really a good idea because I could never really see that sweat at all. Maybe it was because of how far the camera was, or how the sweat didn't really stand out enough, but I never really tried looking for it. Also I think the game really could've used some sort of failstate. I did a 3rd playthrough where I just shoot everyone and it was fine. Thematically it's still hilarious that this was fine ( and frankly, it also checks out .... ), but I think some sort of penalty outside of the final score screen would have helped. Or maybe a gameover if too many loyalists die.

None the less, great game here. Good stuff overall

Absolutely incredible game. Reminded me a little of gutwhale and if it was more like a metroidvania than a rogue-lite but still, incredible.

First off, the presentation was great. The animations for the player and the enemies all felt great and were good indicators for their behaviours. Especially loved how clear and readable everything was. let it be the enemies, the player or the clear backgrounds and level layouts. The game felt really well paced, let it be the progression in difficulty in enemy waves, platforming or just the rate at which new powers are given. Especially loved how later enemy guantlets incorporated the environment as well in some way or the other.

The main mechanic itself is great. Love how you can sorta combo enemies by having the boomerang stay in place and do multi-hits. Especially love how you're really forced to use the flying ability in later parts of the game to dodge enemies in the large arenas that you find yourself in. Enemy design was simple but very effective, and allowed them to work wonderfully in groups to complement each other.

I think my only real qualm with this game is that the implementation of the theme ( from how I understood it anyway ) felt a little weak. That said, that doesn't negate everything I mentioned before

Frankly this game kinda makes me want to make a metroidvania or platformer now lol. Phenomenal job on this one and kudos to the both of you

Great idea and execution of it.

First off, the presentation is great. Love the mix of 2D and 3D. Also love the character and rc car designs. They looked cartoonish and cool.

The main mechanics are also cool. I love how the powerups increase your signal radius, but only for a bit as the radius decreases. Trying to manage where the player character was moving along with where the rc car is heading was a fun balance.

That said, I was a little annoyed how the enemy cars didn't really need to go through checkpoints. I even pushed some of their cars away and they just continued on the track.

( On that note, part of me kinda wishes that you had some way to kick cars. Including your own lol. Maybe you could kick them into or away from checkpoints. And maybe driving cars into another player trips them and stuns them or something along those lines, because pushing enemy cars away was also pretty fun lol )

All that said, this was a pretty damn interesting concept done beautifully. Great stuff

Cool little game about timing. Good art as well. Wish I could say more but it's a nice little minigame in a way
