The art is very good, but oh boy I'd be screaming if a moth was inside my ear >.<

This is a great simulation for erectile dysfunction, great game!
I beated the crap out of that moth when I extracted it lol, love this game!
I'm having so much fun! I'm not sure if the moth can be extracted and I am just terrible at it but nonethless I've had a great time and good fun, congratulations, it is an awesome game.
Cursed, Fun, my personal nightmare. Great idea and execution!
Why would you release this horror upon the world? How can I go sleep now?
epic and nice to look at <3
This makes me physically ill. Visual style is great. Visuals are terrifying. Well done I think?
Very cursed, but a very refreshing take on the theme. When I saw the jam theme, I was afraid that every game would turn into mining games or Downwell clones, you aimed at something much more unique and this is super cool.
I gave you 5/5 stars for humor!!! I extracted the moth... Sweet relief indeed. But then I smacked it right back up there as I was wangling the hook noodle around. So far up it went off the screen! Gah! I'm curious about how you did the moth wing movement? It seemed physicalised somehow. I envisage a bigger game with a range of unpleasant extractions and other procedures needing to be performed. This game was a breath of fresh air! Well done!
Thanks @tim77, I'm glad you enjoyed wangling your noodle. The moth code can be found [here](https://github.com/rhys-vdw/ldjam-48-moth-extraction/blob/ce291bb335f491fef337db17d67f49fbe8d83518/Assets/_Game/Scripts/Moth.cs#L42-L67). It's all fairly simple and modeled in Unity's 2D physics engine. The moth is constructed from 2D capsule colliders connected with motorized hinge joints.

The wing speed is determined by a sine function to give a flapping effect, as is the wiggling of the body. The "flight" of the moth (once freed) is entirely emergent from the counteractive force of its limb movement and tail wiggling, there is no gravity to overcome.
@rhys-vdw Thank you for the response! Really interesting!
SOOOOO CURSED. Thanfully moth got out onn it's own cause I was absolutely useless with this blues instrument. 5 stars
The moth came out on its own, so I pushed it back again. That was the goal, right?
Nice (or rather not nice) little experience and very well executed. The only thing I can think of that could be improved is moth's behavior. It could have a bit more variety, maybe be a bit more sporadic.
Yikes! This game made me uncomfortable! At least it was over quick and easy lol. Definitely worth a good chuckle! Very funny interpretation of the theme too!
@lawrence haha, sh. Don't tell anyone about the self-ejecting moth. 😉 I'm relying on the player to push it in!
I agree about the moth behavior but it took me so long to actually beat it the first time during the jam that I was terrified of changing anything after I'd proven that it worked.
I don't think this is a game that needs to be revisited but given more time/less laziness I would have liked to have made it less predictable. Thanks for the feedback.
This game is quite weird, but strangely, fun. The art and the harmonica also fit the tone really well!
loving these body horror themed entries, as uncomfortable as they make me. awesome art and physics :D
Oh... God...
Very disturbing, I now have another thing to worry about. Nice visuals objectively speaking, subjectively they make me cringe with the thought of a moth wiggling in my ear. Geeat job if that was your goal!
I think I'm going to have nightmares for the rest of my life. I finally figured out if you wait long enough he will wiggle himself out :D I couldnt eject it with the tool myself. Overall good job
Haha, great! It was unpleasant, but very fun :D
What a brutal, unforgiving game. I love it <3
Really nice game, it gave a really some itch on my ears lol. The game is simple but very hard. Great great game overall
This is nightmare-inducing, goofy as hell, and barely playable, I love it. The game also feels super clean and fluid, good choice of music and great take on the theme.
I was really curious as to how the moth works, so I was happy to read your explanations on the comments, I learned a few things today
Terrific.
Fun, cursed, humorous, and scary as hell! Love it!
Weird litte game. I really liked it.
Why do I feel something in my ear now
Nice game! I would say this is more of a horror game xD The idea is very innovative! :)
Thanks I'm never cleaning my ears again! Amazing game :D
Hi !The concept is so outstanding ! Very fun to play and great graphism ! gameplay Simple and effective !
Where can I file a lawsuit against the scoops' manufacturer?
Damn I hate it and I love it haha, nice game:)
I love it. Nothing more to add. Perfectly weird entry!
This game gave me nightmares ! The art, the sound, the gameplay were good.
Deeper and deeper into one's ear... Quite a disturbing concept. Gives me chills !
Nice idea even though it's really unconfortable...
This is weird beyond my comprehension 😂 😂 😂
My ears are itching. Awesome and cruel game!
Loved it. I wasn't expecting to see a game like that. I laugh.
I was really terrible at this. Loved it tho.
So scary, I'm starting to get scared.lol
Beautiful AND anatomically correct !
I hope this is not inspired by experience. :expressionless:
This is hilarious and difficult at the same time!
I wished for the moth, and ended up with a brain full of moth. I guess patience is not my strong suit. Very neat interpretation of the theme.
Sweet relief!
Fantastic presentation. Great art. Disgustingly thematic.
The sound is a bit loud, but otherwise the game is very funny! How did you get this idea? x)
@nyanpierre https://youtu.be/N8RwzE0_XmU
Got dang the music is killer! Excellent game overall, but that music... OOOWEE!
@quite-good Do you mean it hurt your ears or you liked it? Volume's probably a bit extreme in retrospect (just played it and nearly blew my own head off).
Thanks, I hate it. lol
Nice
Thanks for the stream @kuviman. <3
Very nice and innovative game ! Never would have thought of that xD
Got me gasping out loud in panic xD ended up getting the moth out with the noodle turned around Great entry, simple and most likely one of the most memorable entries of this jam.
Entertaining, nice, stylistically consistent graphics. Having successfully extracted the moth, I started a new round and shoved it as deep into the ear canal as possible. The result made me chuckle.
While all the challenge of the game comes from the floppy ear-picking instrument, it'd be nice if it was just a tad stiffer. As-is, it's very difficult to come up with a technique that can be perfected through trial and error.
That was very amusing and silly. The moth came out on it's own, Then I went to rate it... Very innovative, graphics - they were good too, audio was really nice, very funny humor, excellent mood. Wow!
Such a good body horror game, well executed with great graphics and silly audio. Could definitely imagine a WarioWare style game with you extracting insects from various orifices with increasingly inappropriate implements.
Thanks for making this game, I hate it :(
lmfaoooooo great game
haha this was great!
I didn't even know if it was possible to get it out but I kept trying and I did! Great job the art is perfect, the music fantastic and the design hilarious and very adapted to a compo game.
Congrats 🦟
Simple. Disturbing. Blursed.
Great idea.
I feel triggered to go see my doctor and have my ears checked out! Awesome execution, and really good art!
Only issue I can across (playing on web) was after extracting the moth, I couldn't see a way to reset and try again other than resetting the page
@silkypantsdan thanks for the feedback. https://github.com/rhys-vdw/ldjam-48-moth-extraction/issues/1
Excellent little mini-game. Very unique interpretation of the theme. The idea of controlling a floppy noodle with a hook on it to remove a moth is a solid concept. I felt as though I was getting better at handling the noodle the more I played, and the moth emerging from the ear is very rewarding (but not as rewarding as jamming into the guys brain.). Nicely Done!
Thank you so much for bringing this by my stream. Here's a link to the VOD: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1004703239?t=2h4m55s
Oh wow that is so gross and brilliant at the same time. I especially love the contrast between the horrible goal and the nice and comforting color palette.
I really struggle to get the moth out and I some point I was able to do it using the other end of the tool and I think its beautiful.
The most unique innovative disgusting horrifying game I have played... During this ldjam
So gross
Do I have to remove only one time? there are other stages? I got confuse hahaha weird game buts fun. congrats ;)
@felo07 only once, not much to it!
Well this was weird lol. Nice entry either way. I got the moth out after a lot of failed attempts and after raging and just pushing it inside the ear a few times lol. Creative use of the theme and a great entry. Nothing more to say other than that it can be a little annoying, but that's mostly just a byproduct of the design of the game
@badpiggy yeah, it is meant to be annoying. Nothing fun about a moth in the ear. Thanks for playing.
lovely one , it is the simplest game I played in this event ,but very funny  make me think about game design a lot ; maybe some time less is more :smirk:
Nice game!
Simple idea, funny, easy and well done game. Congratulations on doing something so solid in such a short time. The BLUES sound was very good. I kept my eyes closed enjoying the sound.
I like that the music only plays when you interact with the hook. Some kind of restart mechanic would be nice.
Perfect scoping and very well executed! The audio was great and the graphics were nice. Maybe I was just lucky but I managed to extract the moth on my second try.
