LD43 — Sacrifices must be made

A Journey of Sacrifice by MediocreMonty 2021-04-26T03:10:11Z

Interesting game, loved the art style. It took me a long to figure that you could click the islands for crew. did find a bug that if my ship starting sinking and I threw everything overboard I'd never game over but my ship would still be "sinking"

LD48 — Deeper and deeper

Within Yourself by impiaaa 2021-04-26T04:53:10Z

Definitely very simple, but the idea of level recursion and moving object from one to another is a very interesting idea! would love to see what this would look like developed fully!

The Discloser by agentparsec 2021-04-26T04:48:38Z

Excellent game one of the only game in this jam that I really wanted to take the time out to finish, even though it was long it kept my interest the whole way. could easily make for a really good full game someday!

SPEKS - A Murder Mystery by Swordfish 2021-04-26T03:19:20Z

Amazing concept, opening cutscene dragged on for a little too long but I really enjoyed the gameplay I thought the interrogation system was interesting and unique and I might come back to this game to discover the actual murderer when I have more time!

DigDig by Pixelhurricane 2021-04-26T05:15:32Z

@corbeng as you drill deeper denser stone becomes more common and the thickness of hazards increase, between those two things I figured it would make the game difficult after an appropriate amount of time but perhaps I increased it too slowly. Thank you for the detailed review!

Goldseeker by Budark 2021-04-26T03:55:34Z

Decent art style, but gameplay was rather lacking. Swinging the sword also lags out the game quite a bit

Beautiful blob by Hestrateja 2021-04-26T03:42:00Z

funny game, definitely cursed. had a good time 3/5

Dig World by kuviman 2021-04-26T02:36:00Z

Major plus for making a game that is multiplayer at all, that's hard! Gameplay is simple but works well for the 2d style.

love the character customizer.

Deeper Dreams by GingerbreadStudios 2021-04-26T02:49:31Z

Love the art style, it reminds me a lot of lsd dream simulator type games where it's mostly about the spectacle of the experience but the lite 3d platforming was a nice addition!

Dwarven Delver by cavedens 2021-04-26T02:10:38Z

Great idea for a game, but I don't understand why all of the objects are hidden. Without knowing where anything is it's difficult to build a strategy against anything other than trying to dig as straight down as possible and hoping to get lucky enough to survive.

Into the Abyss by oeschmid 2021-04-26T02:43:32Z

I love how complex the puzzles are for such a simple ruleset! I felt like the levels taught me how to use the mechanics in very interesting to figure out ways! beautiful game, great puzzles 9/10

Miner Rescue by mausimus 2021-04-26T04:03:23Z

I've never really seen a game done like this before, I had a lot of fun with it and though the atmosphere and art style were both really well done for the pixelated style!

Sid by Stuartc 2021-04-26T03:25:35Z

Was sad to see it was so short! I loved the idea, and it was well executed. I did find that I wasn't throwing the lantern around to check my surroundings because losing it to a pit was worse than me falling in said pit because death took longer to claim me. Audio would sometimes break on restart, but other than that I had a lot of fun playing this!

Sleep Walls by drom1x 2021-04-26T02:53:21Z

Interesting art style and mood, but I felt a little bit lost as to what I was trying to do. bigger numbers didn't seem any worse than small numbers so aside from not hitting x's I didn't really "get it"

Lord Of The Flies by PixelPortalz 2021-04-26T03:50:57Z

Surprisngly I had a fantastic time! I really thought that the upgrade and control system for making your way out of this maze worked really well! having the flies grow and die off was the perfect way to give the player motivation to explore. All in all a really fun and well made entry

Depths of the Deep by Panacea 2021-04-26T02:21:52Z

Not a bad submission, you cam up with an idea and executed on it. Loved the deep puns

Mind Hunter by Hotpaw 2021-04-26T02:17:08Z

I did my best to listen for audio clues for to find some hint but I couldn't differentiate between correct and incorrect so I couldn't figure out how to narrow down how close I was getting to the correct path. Pretty visuals, interesting idea and really nice ambiance but I would have liked a little more direction

Moth extraction by rhys_vdw 2021-04-26T02:55:40Z

Cursed, Fun, my personal nightmare. Great idea and execution!

LD50 — Delay the inevitable

OhNova by Pixelhurricane 2022-04-24T13:44:36Z

@ilya096 thanks for sticking through it for multiple attempts! Having the player slowly gain enough understanding about the system to eventually be able to survive for longer runs was the original intent behind some of the design. I never got the tutorialization where I wanted it, so I'm glad to hear that you found that satisfying!

LD53 — Delivery

30 Seconds or it's free by Pixelhurricane 2023-05-01T15:34:11Z

I'm not sure what that error might be, I definitely have some time to try a patch though. what did the error say exactly?

30 Seconds or it's free by Pixelhurricane 2023-05-01T15:39:13Z

Thanks for that! I think that explains the bug both of you were having, pretty sure I know exactly where to track it down to fix.

I'm glad you thought it was fun, thanks for the feedback and giving it a try!

30 Seconds or it's free by Pixelhurricane 2023-05-01T15:55:47Z

Bug should be fixed, thanks both of you!

30 Seconds or it's free by Pixelhurricane 2023-05-01T16:08:00Z

Thanks for the feedback! Is the scoreboard not showing up at the end of your game though?

30 Seconds or it's free by Pixelhurricane 2023-05-01T16:45:02Z

I've taken some of the feedback and updated the game slightly to hopefully address some of it

A Wolf's Riposte by Wolfier 2023-05-04T00:14:29Z

Hey I quite loved the concept for this game! The combat is very interesting, balancing using your HP to attack and playing passive to heal. I like that the enemies are bound to the same rules so that you can dodge their attacks and hit them when their weak to preserve HP. great game loop, I'd love to see a post jam version with an expanded moveset, more enemy variety and maybe a leveling system if that's the style you're going for.

A few points of criticism, the letter delivery minigame feels very detached from everything else. perhaps the letters could be rewards for defeating enemies to encourage interacting with them, maybe enemies are obstacles that will take your letters away if you get hurt. Something that ties together the two elements of your game. also an indicator for where the small letters spawn would be helpful, even if they only appeared nearby.

Overall I thought it was a fun game with a lot of potential! I hope you keep working on it!

You Got Mail! by Kabura 2023-05-04T00:19:34Z

I could absolute see this right at home among other mobile app classics like fruit ninja, flappy bird, crossy roads etc. It has the perfect simplistic addictive quality that offers a short satisfying game loop! not being able to stop or directly choose your direction makes for a frantic experience of weaving between traffic that really makes you want to try and get better at it!

Absolute banger game, jam project or not. Well done!

"I Do Extra Good!" by Flightyfelon 2023-05-04T00:02:32Z

I had a lot of fun with this game, the visuals were very pleasing and the song was a constant vibe. It took me a bit to notice there were rhythm elements at play to determine when I could boost and how strong which felt very intuitive to interact with once I understood.

I like to offer a few points of criticism for improvement. The difficulty was a little too low, as I'm writing this review I've been sitting still and taking damage from a crowd after getting 18 deliveries and I'm not that hurt yet. Also I love the city aesthetic but it does feel a little big at times, there's a lot of moments where I'm just jumping in a single direction for 10+ seconds one right after another. It does a little bit of disservice to your control scheme since jumping around at max speed while changing directions is fantastic! I would have suggested a smaller city so you're required to maneuver more often.

Overall I loved the game, it was a great experience to kill a few minutes. Creating any music based game in a jam is hard on it's own, great work!

Sunset Delivery by nobiy 2023-05-04T00:27:46Z

A simple well focused experience, visuals were great and the vaporwave sun setting as the game timer is a fantastic set piece. The gameplay is simple enough for what it needs to be, I would have liked if my turning speed went up higher alongside my top speed as it became increasingly difficult to pass cars after collecting a few upgrades.

Overall great experience, the gameplay additions help keep the experience fresh until the end and it was a lot of fun to race the clock!

LD54 — Limited Space

Stacked by Skvader_418 2023-10-16T00:36:52Z

opera_2023-10-15_18-20-08.png Pretty fun game, it was interesting as a "bullet-hell" type of game trying to keep your dudes alive but I do have a few notes. The spawning of the dudes was a little bit too random imho, I quickly ended up in this scenario where it was hard to stay alive because I had these unwieldy towers built from the first 10 guys or so. I would have probably checked for how high a particular part of the stack is and to choose another location if it's too high above the lowest segment. ApplicationFrameHost_2023-10-15_18-20-38.png

Also I think I would have liked a small grace period after getting hit, the increased lives count powerup effectively wasn't useful at all since by the time I died I think I had something like 22 guys I could lose before getting a gameover, and I lost all of those 22 lives in about 0.5 seconds because of how dense my platform was at the time. Take or leave that point of advice since it does mess with the game's balance but it would have been nice as an alternative if I only lost one life whenever any number of dudes get killed, have 1 second of invincibility, and have the final score include a bonus for the number of guys you had on your platform at the end for an example.

All in all I had a really fun couple of minutes playing the game, with a few small tweaks I could imagine it being pretty solid especially for a game jam project

LD41 — Combine 2 Incompatible Genres

Simon Shoots by Crown Games 2018-04-23T05:30:54Z

same here, something seems to have gone wrong in your build. I'm going to wait to review it so that if you want to give it a fix I can rate it after

Simon Shoots by Crown Games 2018-04-23T23:33:04Z

@Crown Games it's still broken for me actually

Flatformer by Nick Rafalski 2018-04-23T05:42:22Z

I really enjoy the take you did on this, we both did card platforming so it's interesting to see the differences.

Really the only complaint I have is that it's pretty slow between turns (a bias I made my game around i wonder) overall though really nice work! 4/5 overall

Soccer Battle Royale by ditzel 2018-04-23T05:14:20Z

Hey man, both links are still dead. I'd love to give you game a go though. think you'll have it up soon?

Soccer Battle Royale by ditzel 2018-04-23T07:21:08Z

@ditzel yep, that did the trick. playing it right now!

Soccer Battle Royale by ditzel 2018-04-23T07:29:06Z

overall it's pretty fun to run around and kick balls at people, but i think the thing that hurts this the most is that without a way to protect your own goal (aside from puppy guarding it) it can feel fairly random and disappointing to just all of a sudden be dead.

other than that though I had a pretty good time overall 3/5

RPG Shop by Lawrence 2018-04-23T05:59:27Z

I've been playing a lot of games from this jam but this was actually one of my favorites! great job 5/5 overall

Escape by Gamekrazzy 2018-04-23T07:09:55Z

I feel like I'm missing something, *SPOILERS*

i got that the first number isn't 1, and that 2 is after 1, AND that 3 is before 2 and after 6 but at best that only gives me 4/5 numbers I need to solve the puzzle?

Change of Pace by DoctorMozart 2018-04-23T06:58:19Z

hilarious title, super simple but I couldn't help really enjoying myself 4/5 overall

Card Coded by Pixelhurricane 2018-04-23T05:31:52Z

@Bookworm31 A reset hotkey would have been a great idea actually, I'm surprised it never crossed my mind. thanks for the feedback!

Card Coded by Pixelhurricane 2018-04-23T05:32:53Z

@Lawrence , @vilix64 , @Nick Rafalski, thank you all so much for playing my game and leaving feedback! I'm super glad you all enjoyed what I managed to do!

Card Coded by Pixelhurricane 2018-04-23T06:09:52Z

@Herman great to hear a lot of those design choices payed off, thank you for taking the time to leave feedback!

Card Coded by Pixelhurricane 2018-04-23T07:49:23Z

@spthiel totally agree, unfortunately mouse input was causing some issues I didn't have time to sort out. did you by any chance try using the numbers 1-5 on your keyboard as an alternative control style?

Card Coded by Pixelhurricane 2018-04-28T11:05:48Z

@Ryunos glad you were able to find me again! thank you for the support!

Augmented Reality Virtual Pet Stealth - Browser Playable by PadenPierry 2018-04-23T05:19:25Z

absolutely loved it, great concept, good execution
